>She does have a nice figure, yeah?
>Yo’ I feel like this is the part where I’m supposed to be jealous.

“Yo,” you say catching Beth’s attention, “I feel like this is the part where I’m supposed to be jealous,” you say with a huff, barely hiding your smile.

Beth frowns, “It’s not- well mostly not that I was just…” she chews on her lip as she finishes filling up her tank, “Some people are really lucky is all.”

You can’t help but laugh, “I guess she does have a nice figure, yeah,” you say while getting into the car.

“She’ll have back problems like no other,” Kat says in an almost spiteful tone.

Beth nods in agreement, “No kidding, she’ll need to wish for health by the end of it.”

I stand by my desires.

Also how are Beth and Kat going to react to the food truck?

"Guys! I just go my first wish!"
"Wait... you aren't a guy again so what did you wish for? Money? Magic?"
"A food truck!"
"Why?"
"To make money!"
"Why not wish for money?"
"Food truck!"

>>

>>37264735
You saying people seriously support running a food truck?
>>
>>37264789
Welcome to /tg/.

Really though the food truck thing is a nice idea post MG but not during it. There's a lot of work that gets put into running those things and with school coming up and the whole MG thing going on I just don't see where we have the time to mange and run a food truck.
>>
>>37264789
Yes? Pretty much all of us agreed to it when it was first brought up.
>>
>>37264784

We could do typical breakfast food and then intentionally get trapped in a traffic jam of people in a hurry. Cater to the market that can't afford the time to eat a normal breakfast.
>>
>>37264821
Eh? I though half the point was using it as a cover to move about as an excuse to do MG things everywhere.
>>
>>37264834
It's pretty fucking retarded
>>
>>37264789
Seems like the chill choice MC might make, besides the magic will start to vanish after the first wish if it's not used; based on what I remember.
>>
>>37264850
Call it the gridlock grill. Always found where traffics thickest.
>>
>>37264870
So why not wish for something somewhat usefull? Uncanny luck or regeneration or something that'll help us in our work.
>>
>I didn’t realize both of you were so spiteful.
>A woman’s envy is a scary thing.

“I didn’t realize both of you were so spiteful,” you say with an amused smile as Beth pulls out.

“Please, this is just observing the facts,” Beth says defensively, “I mean theres no way she’ll be fine without some sort of help.”

“Come on, you don’t say something like that without some level of spite,” you shake your head.

Kat huffs in the back, “It’s not spite, its… just a thing?”

“A thing?” you glance back at Kat with a skeptical look.

“Yeah a thing, you know? Like if you see people lifting everyday or running marathons all the time, that sort of thing,” Beth answers trying to explain.

“So envy? That thing?” you can help but smile as you dig your figurative grave, “I have heard a woman’s envy is a scary thing.”

“It’s not that,” Beth frowns, “It’s like observing the extremes and taking comfort in the damage it d-” she cuts herself off as she realizes what she’s saying.

“That’s pretty sadistic there Beth,” you say as she pulls into your driveway.

Kat jumps out of the car as soon as it stops and rushes to the door as she uses the key you had made to open it. She turns around and waves with a heart warming smile.

Beth watches Kat with a smile on her face, “She really grows on you.”

Our character is an excellent cook and we need money for stuff. We figured it would make a solid first response vehicle by driving around the city looking for monsters to fight. It brings us money and works as our patrol car all while utilizing our hobby for cooking great food. Its a fun idea.
>>
>>37264860
Again there's a lot of work to be put into a food truck and you also need some disposable income already to drop into. Supply (food stuffs, truck fuel, etc) isn't cheap. Then there's prep work that goes into the truck before you even open it to server food. All of this really comes down to time. Something that Alex has now but won't when school rolls in.

>Welcome home, Kat.
>Lets go find a demon to hunt.
>Introductions are in order.

You ruffle her hair, “Welcome home Kat.”

Kat looks up with tears of happiness in her eyes as she says, “I’m home!”

You smile warmly down at her, your mother has come to the door and you can tell she’s about to say something about leaving the door open before she spots what’s going on and just smiles.

“Welcome home both of you,” your mother says with a warm smile.

Kat looks back to your mother before running over and giving her a tight hug as well.

Beth shifts around clearly feeling awkward and uncertain of what she should do here.

You grab her hand and pull her inside as Kat and your mother finally get to moving again.

Everyone ends up in the living room, and you find yourselves sitting on the couch watching tv. It’s been roughly an hour since you’ve gotten home, and you’re just about ready to go do something.

”Lets go hunt a demon, maybe see Kat and Beth in action… though sharing will be awful,” Shadow Alex suggests, ”Maybe hunt three?”

You hum, ‘The one we first fought in the park was coming back… though I don’t know if thats really the best choice if Kat’s coming,’ you glance at her, ‘though she does seem a lot better than before.’

”Hrm, why not just feel for another? Could ask Beth if she knows where any are,” Shadow Alex suggests.

‘Yeah, sounds good,’ you think, “Yo’ I’m about ready for some exercise after all the junk food today, lets go take care of that before its too late.”

Kat, who has calmed down a lot, shrugs, “Sounds good, lets do it.”

Beth who was getting into the show sighs before standing up, “Yeah okay, lets go.”

“Have fun, don’t stay out too late, your father should be home soon and you know how he is,” your mother says with a tired smile, “I can only give you about an hour leeway once he gets home.”
1/2?
>>
>>37268202

“Sure thing, it shouldn’t take too terribly long,” you say with a smile as you head outside Beth and Kat following behind you.

You lead the way towards the park and by extension John’s place, searching for things along the way, preferring not to default to the park for obvious reasons.

“So, is there a reason we’re just walking instead of running?” Beth asks, “Not that I mind,” she quickly adds.

“Well by exercise I actually meant go find a demon to hunt, theres a few around here that need to be taken care of,” You say walking backwards with a guiltless smile.

“That’s dirty, you could have just asked outright,” Beth frowns.

“Hmm nah, its all good. If you don’t want to, I’ll take care of it yeah?” you say with a shrug, “Either way walking’s still exercise.”

Kat shrugs and stretches, “At least its a nice day.”

“Ah hey watch out,” Beth says a moment too late as you bump into someone.

You stumble over them, causing both of you to trip, you land on top of whoever you just wasted as both of you shout in surprise.

“Augh, fuck me,” A voice you suspect is John says from underneath you.

You are mostly okay, he took the brunt of the fall for you, thankfully, a glance confirms that it is John laying on the ground holding his head with a grimace.

“Yo’ you alright man?” You ask him as you hold out a hand to help him up.

“Fuck no, damn cracked my skull open,” he says before realizing he knows you, “Man you need to watch where you are going, you nearly killed me.”

“Nah man I bet you could get hit by a truck and still be fine,” You say dismissively, “Seriously though you alright?”

“Yeah probably,” he says rubbing the back of his head as you pull him to standing, “It really wasn’t that bad,” he’s got a grimace to his face.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine worse shit has happened, you know?” John waves you off, he freezes as he spots Kat, he’s about to say something when you take advantage of his delay.

“You know, this is a perfect time,” you say cutting him off, “John, meet Kat. Kat, meet John, he’s the other half of my friends.”

Beth smirks, “You hear that John, I’m the first half of Alex’s friends.”

John laughs, “You sure you heard that right Beth because all I heard was OTHER half. Nothing about the order,” he counters, taking advantage of Beth’s distraction.

Beth makes a dissatisfied sound as she can’t come up with anything.

Kat hesitantly holds out her hand, “Nice to meet you,” she smiles weakly.

John clears his throat, “Yeah, nice to meet you,” you note that he keeps glancing downwards, likely at her tail.

The two shake hands, awkwardly, Kat because she apparently is shy around new people and John because he’s meeting a real Catgirl so to speak.

John instantly starts back pedaling, “Ah yeah, no way am I sticking around to be dragged into that shit,” he glances to Beth, “Good luck, if you can make it through that you can be the first half for all I care.”

Beth shakes her head, “It sucks… but not that bad.”

John balks at this, “You’re made of tougher stuff than I am Beth, holy shit.”

>>37271633
Mine too anon. I mean we really have no pressing or critical things happening besides hanging with friends, making new ones and killing monsters. Only thing that might be an issue is getting our identity fixed but a minor wish should be able to handle that easily. We'll have plenty of cores for it by the time school starts up again. Wonder if we can get that food truck up for an after school job by then as well.
>>
>>37271716
What was the idea for that identity wish? "I wish that anyone who knows me and does not know about magic remembers me as I am now", was it? Or something similar?
>>
>>37271790
yeah mostly covering our butts so we don't have any happening because of it. Shouldn't cost that much since most of the framework is in place.
>>
>>37271828
I'd assume we can make some sort of deal with the person who got us the "kill a god" job for a new identity.
>>
>>37271790
Probably also get our profile updated on all the relevant legal documents while we're at it, but yeah that's the gist.
>>
>>37271579
>Yo’ got to finish this before my dad comes looking
>>
>>37271839
Why? So much easier just to keep living as we are, this way we don't get confused and everyone just talks to us the same, plus that history rewrite. Besides if we ask the folks about it alter I'm sure they can help us out with a good choice.
>>
>>37271839
I think he said he's willing to do it if we pay him, probably in cores.
>>
Calling for:
>So what are you doing out here anyways John?

>>37271875
Did you ask about that? I can't actually recall.
>>
>>37271889
No we haven't.
>>
>>37271889
We haven't, it's still in discussion phase.

>>37271869
Well, there's three options: one, we tell everyone we're Alex and we became a girl, two, we say Alex moved to Canada or something and assume a new identity, or three, we alter reality a bit so that, to everyone else, we were always a girl. The reason why the third option is appealing is that we can keep all of those minor relationships, such as friends, teachers, extended family members, as they pretty much are. Also, it might be a good dodge for the shadow issue: if we say they remember us "as we are now" they might ignore the lack of shadow that we have (that's speculation, though).
>>
>So what are you doing out here anyways John?

“So what are you doing out here anyways?” You ask, “You hardly ever get out.”

“Ah ran out of food, tired of chinese and pizza, walking to that steak house just over here,” John gestures towards the rough direction, “I almost regret it already, but I think it’ll be worth it by the end of it.”

“Huh, if your out of food how’ll you manage till your parents get back?” Beth asks, curious.

“Well they were actually supposed to get here today but plane got delayed for some reason or another, I didn’t listen, didn’t really care,” John says with a shrug, “They’ll be taking this money back tomorrow I’m sure so I’ll just spend the rest of it tonight on steak.”

“Heh a sound plan if I ever heard one,” you nod approvingly, “Everything going fine though? No problems like last time?”

“Nah, thankfully,” he says glancing back to Kat again, and then to you, “Thanks by the way, I was really worried about that shit.”

“Nah man, its no worries, if it ever comes up again give me a call or something, yeah” You grin, “I’ll be happy help with that any time.”

“I’ll keep it in mind, but hey I want to get there before they close, I’ll talk to you later yeah?” John says looking towards the steak house.

“Yeah sure, keep in touch,” you wave good bye as John continues on his way.

“Will do,” John says as you head your separate ways.

After a moment of silence and once John’s out of earshot, Beth asks, “So are we going to actually go through with it? or head back?”

“Yeah we’re going through with it, I’m just looking around for one is all,” you say while walking in a random direction.

Along the way to find a demon you spot a lot of places where excess darkness is gathering though not quite yet a demon or even a core, some of them in front of houses, others in alleyways.

Finally after about fifteen minutes of walking you get the feeling of one beneath you as you’re walking over a bridge, glancing over the side you can see its a storm drain thats dry right now and covered in graffiti. You can’t see the nightmare itself, and you suspect its likely under the bridge.

“Hey… Alex you finally listening?” Beth asks a mix of worry and anger in her voice.

You frown as you consider her question. You certainly didn’t hear her say anything.

“... what do you mean finally listening?” you ask, “you haven’t said anything.”

Both Beth and Kat are giving you concerned looks, “Nnot so much as you think,” Beth slowly says, “You just didn’t respond to anything we said… Kat even hung off of you for a while.”

You have trouble finding words, eventually settling on, “So… was I doing something weird?”

Kat speaks up first, “Kinda, you had a really serious look on your face, your eyes were glowing… and uh yeah no that’s it.”

Beth shakes her head, “No its not… every shadow was bending towards you. We didn’t notice at first until you walked through one and it bent out of shape.”

“We were really worried something had happened,” Kat says, concern clear in her voice.

>Well you know, since I’ve already found it…

“Well you know, since I’ve already found it…” you shrug, “Lets go a head and take it out yeah?”

Beth sighs, “Alright, fine, but if that happens again you’ve got to tell me.”

You almost point out that you didn’t even notice that it happened at all before shrugging, “Yeah I can do that.”

Beth lets out a sigh of relief and starts climbing down into the storm drain, you following after as does Kat behind you.

As you reach the bottom you can see all but the ground is covered in various graffiti, some of it legitimately amazing other’s just awful. You can see that no ones around and the wall swirling with wisps of darkness trying to reach out.

Beth walks under the bridge and out of sight from the street then starts her transformation. Her clothes become a swirling black mass that barely manages to preserve her decency, she punches with each fist in turn through the mass gaining leather gloves with metal studs covering the knuckles.

The black mass shifts closer to her fitting to her modest form leaving a black leather jacket, leather skirt, and knee high leather boots with a low heel. All of it has varying amounts of metal, with the boots being more metal than leather.

“I forgot how brutal your outfit is like this,” You comment with an amused smile, “Honestly though it looks amazing on you.”

Beth flushes, “Thanks… you think I should pick up some leather normally?”

“Hmmm, yeah definitely. At the very least a jacket,” you comment as Kat paces away from you counting her steps.

“Hmm, next time I get some money then,” Beth nods while watching Kat with a curious look.

“Come here, she needs a bit of space,” you say watching Kat.

Beth’s about to say something before she shrugs and moves next to you, watching with curiosity.

>>
>>37286263
I suppose if we're going to be pedantic here... darkness is the absence of visible light, and shadow is the obstruction of visible light. That's a difference, though to what extent is not worth arguing. Needless to say, our power is called Darkness, not Shadow.
>>
>>37286301

Kat starts her transformation once she’s a suitable distance away creating a fire nova that stops just a few feet in front of you, washing you with a wave of heat. Beth takes a step back, eyes wide as you watch with amusement.

The fire rushes back inwards incinerating her clothes as it does, the resulting smoke twists and turns teasing you but hiding just enough from view to keep her decency. As Kat dances around the smoke and ash fit to her body depositing clothes instead of filth.

Her top’s the first thing to come back as a red blouse covered in fire instead of frills and a patterned flame across it that seems to actually be moving. Kat dances into more smoke and ash leaving behind a smokey black skirt with an equally black pantyhose with matching low heels.

The smoke condenses in her hands and reignites creating a flaming wand of sorts.

“Damn, that outfit is… flashy,” Beth comments with a smile.

Kat tries to flatten the skirt out which seems to insist on almost showing off her panties on its own, “Yeeeah, just a little,” she confirms.

“Well then, I guess its my turn,” you say as you stretch.

You take a deep breath, aware that neither of them used a transformation statement and wonder if you too shouldn’t give it a shot.

Well, good and bad. Sometimes they're friends/family who are checking up on you and are concerned (which is helpful with the difficulties Lovehazard is having), but sometimes they're annoying, flocking harpies. And even with the first group sometimes it's really annoying. Also, they tend to visit at around midnight for him, which can get annoying.
>>
>>37287388
They said hello back though was quite confused about what I was talking about.

They just left finishing update, maybe 20 minutes.

>>37287536
I was actually surprised they showed up so early compared to usual.
>>
>>37287536
Or they're just friends who want to hang out. They don't have to think you're dying or be complete dicks to come by for a visit.
>>
>>37287860
Should've just said "A bunch of internet weirdos want me to say hi to you".

>Try and force the transformation without words
>Result 79

You look to Beth and Kat, “Yo’ I’m going to try that shit, don’t uh… don’t laugh if I fail yeah?”

Beth smirks, “Well, I make no promises, but I’ll try not to.”

Kat nods, “I did the first couple of times… rather spectacularly too,” she rubs the back of her head, “I still feel kind of guilty about one.”

You raise your eyebrows a this and settle on asking about it later, you don’t have time for a lengthy story before your father starts freaking out. As such you start trying to force it, through just willing it… but nothing really happens.

”Yo’ just kind of feel it out,” Shadow Alex suggests, ”It should feel weird once you find it.”

You frown and take Shadow Alex’s tip, trying to feel for it. Almost instantly you feel it, beating inside of you like a second heart pulsing... in fact you can’t believe you never felt this before it overshadows everything else your body is doing almost as if its the most vital part. You swallow hard before you try and force it to pulse harder.

It responds eagerly, the pulses before are nothing compared to what it does next as it screams to life rushes to meet your requests willing to do anything you want it to… that makes sense as its part of you, you hope.

It’s then that a deafening shattering sound brings you back to paying attention to outside yourself, your clothes have shattered violently with strings of darkness attached to the fragments which have gone outwards until hitting a bubble of darkness thats about arms length away obscuring your view from Beth and Kat.

A quickly glance down show’s you to be completely naked, a sight you only see for a moment before things start rapidly happening in reverse. The strings attached to the fragments pull them back with a snap and in a moment you’re fully clothed in your typical black blouse, cargo pants and yellow pants which show just above the pants. You step forward through the bubble and feel your comfortable combat boots underneath as the darkness bubble condenses into your book of mirrors.

Beth is wide eyed while Kat has her hands over her ears with a grimace.

“That’s new,” Beth says after a moment.

Kat lets out a sigh of relief, “Ahh the ringing stopped.”

You can feel the spot inside you roaring like a well tuned engine ready to give you as much power as you want. It’s intoxicating almost.

Hopefully, this just works as an alternative transformation/super-mode and we can still have our normal transformation sequence by actually speaking.
>>
>So, I’ll let you two lead, haven’t seen either of you fight.
>Yeah, I was kind of surprised.

“Yeah, I was kind of surprised,” you say looking down at yourself unable to see anything unusal.

”Man that’s new, and loud, or maybe we just didn’t notice before?” Shadow Alex says with a grimace in her voice, ”I am not okay with this, we need like a shit ton of sound proof foam or something.”

‘I’ll see what I can do maybe dad has some in his workshop...’ you think to Shadow Alex.

”Sweet, worst case we beg him for some,” Shadow Alex says with a smile in her voice.

“So anyways, I’ll let you two lead, curious how either of you fight,” you say with a shrug, gesturing towards the correct wall.

Kat swallows hard, clearly nervous but determined as she nods and heads in first. Beth shrugs, “Yeah alright, don’t be expecting too much alright?”

“Please, with your outfit I bet you have some awesome magic,” you say with a smile as both you and Beth head inside the nightmare.

Every surface is covered in various graffiti, some painted so realistic that if it wasn’t for the brick wall it was on you would walk right through it… others still are distorted, the wall bending in odd ways and simple not existing when you look at it from certain angles.

Kat is already looking around, ears perked up as she tries to discern where to go. Beth’s a bit more confident as she just strolls forward with her hands behind her head.

“Hey wait, its dangerous you know?” Kat says with a frown as she follows after Beth, “You should at least be ready for a fight…”

“I am ready though,” Beth says with a shrug, “I’ve got really good reaction speed, you’ll see.”

You follow after watching them and the nightmare around you, as you move through you spot some strands of darkness lining the floor and ending in animals or monsters painted on the walls and floor.

You almost tell them outright what’s there but wonder if you shouldn’t just let them handle it… they do have more experience than you after all…

>Oi, the creatures on the wall are alive, you know?
>Nah, they can handle it.
>Take them out yourself, these things are weak anyways.

Just a thought, but maybe we could ask Mom if she knows what happens if, hypothetically, someone ate a (fallen) goddess' core.
Would give reason for extra mother-daughter bonding as well.

>Oi, the creatures on the wall are alive, you know?

“Oi, the creatures on the wall are alive… you know?” You point a the closest one to Beth which starts to peel itself off the floor as she nears.

Beth shrugs and slams her fist into it and the ground by extension causing metal spikes to tear the ground to shreds in a wave that doesn’t seem to end until it meets the wall at the end of this corridor. Quite a few of the strands fade away.

“Well at least we only have to worry about the walls now,” Beth says as you see some darkness begin to gather around her. Not nearly enough to do anything to her just yet.

Kat looks at the walls, before tapping her wand to the wall, a small spark that explodes forward violently burning the rest of the graffiti off that shocks every as the firesstorm rages and leaves nothing on either wall.

“W-well thats not what I wanted… but it’ll do!” Kat says after recovering from her shock, she too has darkness floating around her slightly more than Beth.

“Overkill much?” Beth asks, with something between an impressed smile and an amused one.

“No such thing Beth,” You say while following after the two down the burned and wrecked hallway, “Besides you don’t have much room to speak.”

Beth shrugs as you turn the corner into a large rounded out room save for the floor where a giant person in a rain coat, medical mask, glowing red eyes and otherwise unseeable face spray paints new things along the wall.

There are hundreds of smaller creatures here, some of them already off the wall and moving towards you with spray cans, and one with a miners pick.

The giant doesn’t even seem to notice you as it continues its work.

“Well the bigger they are, they say…” Beth says looking up and raising her fists, “the hard they fall.”

Kat’s looking around at all the minions, “I’ll cover you while you hit it?”

“Sounds like a plan… what about you Alex?” Beth asks looking back at you.
