After being dismissed by Master Jorrak you find your way over to Nivah and prepair to watch the next match. She glances over at you and seems to shrink slightly as you approach. It's obvious that either your sudden brutality has affected her or she is very good at playing the part of the terrified farm girl. Regardless, you feel that she is the closest thing you have to an ally at the moment, and if you manage to harder her and make her more like a Sith while doing your best to become more powerful then all the better. After a moment she looks at you and speaks.

"Can you teach me? To... to fight. If that is the kind of... fighting that's going to happen then I want to be ready."

Her voice shakes with every syllable and you suspect she might start crying but you sense determination underneath the fragile demeanor. Before you can respond Master Jorrak speaks up.

"Rodrick, you're up!"

On the other side of the arena the third Master, a dainty looking human woman shouts in kind to one of her apprentices and the two prepare to square off. This could be an excellent opportunity to learn more about your adversary.

It'll get some sparring in for yourself and her.

We still must be wary of her getting too much. If she knows exactly how we fight we'll be outmatched if she turns on us. When the time comes we should do some digging about her.

Maybe ask some questions during the matches?

"Sure, I can help you. I'll need to practice with two blades now. That being said, watching these fights will be a good place to start. Always remember, your friends will teach you what you want to know. Your enemies will teach you what you NEED to know. Watch this match, then tell me what you think each person did right or wrong. I'm sure you'll pick up on it quickly, I can sense that you've got the capacity for great things."

Nivah seems to brighten as you compliment her, while in the back of your mind you calculate the effects of your kindness methodically. You'll get her to think you're warming up to her, perhaps even start flirting in time. If she's as much of a weakling as she seems it will make her an excellent loyal pawn, if she's devious as you suspect she'll think she has you under her thumb.

You turn your gaze back to the match and peer at Rodrik's opponent. A fit young Chiss regards him carefully blade at the ready as they slowly begin circling each other. Both combatants are clearly built for speed and flexibility, and so you are sure to watch the fight carefully.

The two rush each other and the arena explodes into a flashed of electricity. Rodrik is kept on the defensive for most of the match, weaving and dodging his opponents blade in a way that even you must admit is astonishing. The Chiss quickly begins losing steam and you seem more and more errors in his assault. In a single definitive move Rodrik swings his vibrosword and slashes at his opponents throat. The Chiss quickly begins drowning in his own blood before slumping over

The match is called and Rodrik is exempt from punishment as there is not proof the killing blow was intentional. Rodrik look at you with a devious grin.

Your eyes meet Rodrik for a split second and all you do is shake your head dismissively before regarding Nivah. You can feel his hatred filled look and you enjoy it so much it's like a fine wine.

"Look at the Chiss Nivah. You're going to need to get used to seeing this kind of thing. It's going to be apart of your life now, and the sooner you grow accustomed to it the easier it will be."

Your right eye whirs and clicks as you bring the Chiss into focus. Truth be told this fight was likely more educational for you than her, especially considering the likely outcome of this feud of yours you end in such a fight. You would need to remember Rodrik's agility, tiring yourself out against him would be a death sentence.

"Now tell me, what you think he did wrong."

Nivah thinks for a moment as she stares down the dead body before it is dragged away out of sight. Her eyes seem harder then they were before.

"He kept attacking after it was clear it was pointless. He ended up tiring out and getting sloppy. When it caught up with him there wasn't anything he could do."

You nod.

"Remember that."

Master Jorrak's words cut through the crowd once more.

"Nivah, front and center."

Nivah gets a wild look in her eye, animal fear and a need to survive. Her grip tightens on her blade and she looks up at you terrified.

>What do you say?

>Remember what I said earlier, you'll be fine.
>Remember, it's kill or be killed, so kill.
>Put a hand on her shoulder and nod encouragingly

You place a stead hand on her shoulder, look down into her eyes and speak two simple words.

"Break him."

With a slow nod and a fire kindled in her eyes Nivah steps forward and takes her stance. She seems to struggle slightly with the weight of the blade but after a few cursory swings seems to have a feel for the weight. Her opponent steps forward, a young human man with an athletic build, larger than Nivah. While she does not appear to be any more comfortable with a blade than Nivah, his size and build provide him the advantage.

You watch closely as the match begins, taking note of any strengths or weaknesses Nivah might possess. She circles slowly, her expression reminding you of a cornered beast. Her opponent charges, a smug air about him as he seems fully aware of his advantage. Quickly Nivah ducks low using her diminutive stature to her advantage, similarly to how you dealt with your own opponent and slashes at his calf. The wound is shallow but he hisses in pain all the same and whirls on her.

Lashing out in anger she quickly ducks once more under her opponent's blade and slashed upward nicking his blade hand along the back of his palm. Her opponent drops his blade involuntarily as he grasps the profusely bleeding wound. In an instant Nivah stabs the blade into both her opponent's hands as they now lay atop one another. The man screams in anguish begging for surrender.

The match quickly ends in Nivah's favor as her opponent is brought aside for his hands to heal. She comes to you looking jarred but smiling weakly.

>What do you say?

>And so he is broken.

"And so he is broken. You did good. Always use your advantages to cripple your foe. There is no such thing as honor. I learned that fighting for my lifers in the mines. You will have to learn it here."

Your voice is curt but not unkind, she brightens a bit and nods. It seems more and more that she is becoming dependent upon you. In time you could use this to manipulate her and turn her loyal. You take mental note of this for later. You notice that many of the participants who have already completed their combats have drifted off toward their dorms. The battles have been passing by quite quickly and it will not be long before the last of them are complete.

Nivah seems shaken, however it would seem she has found her resolve and can be molded to suit your needs quite nicely.

"So... when will you be willing to help me? I understand if you're tired after you're fight... I'm pretty exhausted too."

"We can train together tomorrow. You need time to recover. For now, we take note of the strongest fighters. Pay attention to their strengths, their weaknesses and the form they use. See how they use their blade, see when they panic and how often they capitalize on opportunity and the mistakes of their opponent."

Nivah nods and watches the matches with renewed vigor. For the most part the matches are unremarkable, though a few other fighters stand out, a bulky Rattataki man who seemes comfortable with a blade and lither Zabrak woman catch your eye as dangerous contenders under the Rattataki woman known as Master Vessa. The only other serious threat you note is an incredibly composed Chiss woman under the third Master, Master Xalia.

You note their strengths, most of which are obvious, though the Chiss woman was difficult to read.

After the matches are over you bid your farewells to Nivah and make your way back to your dorm. You stow your blades and take time to meditate on the force before you go to sleep, focusing on the savage might you channeled in your fight earlier today. You end your meditation with renewed focus upon your ambitions and the mindset of a savage warrior.

For so long you have been the abused, the mistreated, and used.

No longer.

As of today, you have become the predator.

I only have one fight to go on currently but I'm leaning toward Juyo, however your guys careful approach to combat could also lead us to Makashi.

>>37303827
Certainly. Currently your cyber optic eye allows you to see at a range and possesses night vision, both used while you worked within to mine. Eventually it can allow for infrared and other varied optic options.

>>37304021
Currently your eye is your only enhancement however this has led to a cybernetic implant being attached to your spine, as a kind of enabler for you cybernetics. In time this can be used to attach other attachments, such as an audio amplifier and really anything you good folks can come up with.

>>37304048
I have plans for who your Master will be once you 'graduate' and some end game stuff, but for the moment I am mostly winging it with a few planned ideas sprinkled in.

>>37304058
Every day for the time being. I'll let you guys know in thread on on twitter if anything changes.

>>37304064
There was a lot of fighting in the mine, so I guess you could say the closest comparison would be pit fighting. It was almost like a prison setting. As long as people did work they didn't really care if anyone lived or died or how. You never know your parents, as you were taken away from them and sold to another slaver. As a child you mostly moved carts filled with metal and rocks and once you were strong enough to hold a pick you were in the mines, Your eye was not installed by choice and the surgery where it was installed was pretty damned traumatic for you.
>>
>>37304113
How many students would you say are at our level?
How many overall?
>>
>>37304174
There are thirty six other students total, however after the entrance sparing match there are now 29 remaining. Two died and the rest were wounded to the extent that they are no longer eligible to become Sith. This includes your and Nivah's opponents.

You are above average currents, probably at about a 7/10.

There are around nine students who currently could give you a run for your money and another four students who are currently exponentially more powerful than you so far as bladed combat, strength with the force, ect. You could still potentially beat them but it would take for some good rolling and smart tactics. Your have the ability to get more powerful and as you do so your odds against these opponents will improve. Yes, Rodrik is one of those opponents. In a fair one on one battle against him, you would currently lose.

No, loyalty is a detriment to the Sith. His only loyalty is to raising the Sith to power, and sacrifices are always required.

>>

No. The Dark Side is basically all the angsty emotions that adolescents have bottled up into lightning.
>>
>>37304113
I was thinking Djem So style would be best for us. Wait, deflect, counterattack. Tight, efficient movements wasting no energy.
>>
>>37305824
Loyalty? No. But the Dark Side is fueled by PASSION. Fear and hate are the most common power sources for Sith, but there are other options. Anything that you're passionate about. Love, joy, friendship, camaraderie, sorrow, misery, any deep emotional feeling is a source of power.

Hate is easy and cheap. So is Fear. They're the Taco Bell of the Dark Side. They'll give you what you want, but it's not going to be very good.

Also, if we ever get a chance to put down prissy boy, we should dismissively say something along the lines of "Don't bother, I wouldn't waste my hate on you."
>>
>>37306322
>>37307682
Actually, before lightsabers were a common thing, Sith fought with dark-side-enhanced swords and knives that were almost as good and lightsaber resistant. Maybe we can deviate from the norm and bring back those old fighting styles. We'll get a saber, sure, but never use it in favor of actual blades.
>>
>>37308109

OP hasn't said we're bound by the strict warrior/inquisitor divide. This may not be a class-based system at all. Just wait and see. We may get to explore the more esoteric force powers as well as the throat slitting.
>>
>>37308091
>but it's not going to be very good.

Wasn't there a sith who was literally so angry that everytime he died, he came back to life?
>>
>>37308310
I think he used pain to do that.
>>
>>37308310
I know of two or three. You'll have to narrow it down. Besides, if you had the choice, what would you rather have: two thousand bucks worth of Taco Bell, or a single seven-course meal cooked by Bobby Flay and Robert Irvine?

This is something that terrifies the Jedi: The sith are adaptable. The Jedi can only use a handful of powers. Telekinesis, body enhancement, precognition, some slight healing powers or telepathic-empathy. Sith can do all those too. And shoot lightning, their most well known ability. But they also can create life, modify living things to make them better and stronger and more powerful. Sith can use the force to alter an object at the molecular level so that lightsabers slide off it like water. Sith can alter photons in motion to create patches of darkness. The Darkshear. the thought Bomb. The Memory Walk. Sorcery. Alchemy. Illusions. Invisibility. Sith can do so much MORE than Jedi can because they never restrain themselves. Think on that.

And I hope our character in this quest can explore some of that.

>dark side also corrupted people

Yeah, the Dark Side is all about passion. The more you embrace the passion, the deeper you go into it, greater the heights of the Dark Side you can reach.

The pit fall is; it's easy to become consumed by your passion, have it rule you, rather than the other way 'round.

This problem is further compounded by the most common passions of the Sith. Hate. Fear. These are the most common and easy source of a Siths passion. Embracing these things to the point you become consumed by them tend to lead to.... pic related.

Using other sources for our passion can be less inherently negative and give us much greater leeway in regards to losing our shit and becoming an Edge Lord.
>>
>>37305490
Our inquisitor? No, never trust an inquisitor. They say one thing to you, another to your worst enemy and then proceed stab the both of you in the back when the moment is right. Inquisitors are the masters of manipulation.

We could try to make her dependant from us or somehow out-manipulate her to gain control over her. And then use her possible inquisitorial powers for our own ends. Let us aim for the long game with her
>>
>>37308735
Define 'corrupt'. Please.

The Dark Side is about drawing power from your passions. Whatever they may be, you use them to make yourself stronger. It's clear in the Sith Code.
>Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
>Through Passion, I gain Strength.
>Through Strength, I gain Power.
>Through Power, I gain Victory.
>Through Victory, my chains are Broken.
>The Force Shall Free Me.
What does that mean to you?
>>
>>37309519
>>
>>37309561
And if you did it well, you would be a just, loving, and magnificent god. If you did it poorly, you would be an incompetent and self destructive edgelord who'd never accomplished anything.

But take the code one line at a time. What does each mean to you individually?
>>
>>37309561

Yup.
>>
>>37309561
>>37310034
See, this is why Sith instructors teach people to meditate on the code, so they don't just take it at face value and go full edgelord with it.
>>
It's the Sith; it's like 90% edge lord, 9% Machiavellian Douchebags, and 1% Machiavellian Edge lords
>>
>>37310698

And still nobody has given a response to the 'what does each line mean to you individually' question.
>>

>>

>Peace is a lie, there is only passion
Passion equals Conflict
>Through Passion, I gain Strength
Most of our life was a series of conflicts, we became stronger because of this
>Through Strength, I gain Power
Power is a directed form of strength. Power is strength with a purpose. Although power may include the Force
>Through Power, I gain Victory
Everything we gained in those hellish mines, we used to drive us to a goal, and/or thanks to our control of the force, we thrived in the pits.
>through victory, my chains are broken
We were freed because we used the force and our skills to do so
>The Force Shall Free Me.
We want to be free, that requires power, that power comes from the force. Let our source of passion be the force itself and we ensure freedom.
>>
>>37310929
>Peace is a lie, there is only passion
Passions are what motivate us. The things in life that make it worth living.
>Through Passion, I gain Strength
Strength is something internal. Strength is personal. Be it physical, or mental or spiritual. By being Sith, we can use what motivates us to give ourselves strength.
>Through Strength, I gain Power
Power is the ability to change the world around us. To apply our strength to the environment. We use our strength to apply our strength.
>Through Power, I gain Victory
Our power, our ability to alter the universe at our direction allows us to overcome challenges and obstacles.
>through victory, my chains are broken
Everyone has chains. Things that hold them down. Social constraints. Laws. Their own body's limits. The physical laws of the universe.
>The Force Shall Free Me.
By using our passions to become strong, by using our strength to affect the universe, by overcoming challenges, and by overcoming our limitations, we can further excel, overcoming all limitations. Time Space. Matter. Death. To a true Sith, such things are meaningless. And it all starts with figuring out what we want, what we live for, and using it to better ourselves.

Holy shit you guys are still going at it.
Not going to lie the fact that this became popular so quickly feels good.

Well while I am here I'll answer a few questions that have been floating around.

You guys are not bound by a strict class dichotomy, however as your training progresses it will focus to a style that best suits your needs. The most common ones will be pretty similar to those of the Swotor classes if only because those two (further broken into four) fighting styles are pretty logically prominent, and if you chose to go down one of those paths you will receive combat and force training that compliment each other.

This being said there is nothing stopping you from learning to use force lightning from a distance only to become a hurricane of death once you get into close quarters.

This also goes for your fighting style. If you guys choose to go dual sabers but later on you want to pick up how to use a staff saber, there will be nothing stopping you from doing that, however because you will not be in an environment dedicated to teaching it will take longer and will need to happen on your time.

Eventually you may learn hidden or forgotten techniques of the force, it really depends on where you go, who you follow, and the choices you make. In time you could be a master of it all, however that would take a stupid amount of time and effort on Xanth's part.

Anyone else have any questions for me?
>>
>>37311586
Would you let us become like Darth Sion if we could make checks to keep our concentration through the pain and oblivious to anyone sneaking around?
>>
>>37311586
Could we become a non-combat focused sith? Like a torturer or some kind of lore-master? Not to say we wouldn't proficient with combat but it wouldn't be our focus of study. Just a thought.

Oh, and are we at all special? Like any latent powers we might not know about? This might be a plot point but I'm curious.
>>
- - - - - - - - -
>>37311784
It would certainly be possible once you attained a certain level of power, however it would likely have a negative influence on your sanity. It would be impossible to go through that kind of pain and walk away untouched.

>>37311846
It's possible, however once you graduate and come under your Master, it's likely that you'll be subject to their whims, so if they want you in combat you'll be in combat. However if you show that you are adept in other fields they may chose to give you tasks related to said field.

The only thing I will say is that you possess a connection to the force much stronger than in normal for someone who has never harnessed it. Ordinarily it takes a month or so for an apprentice to learn to go into a force trance as you did earlier. You do not know this IC however, and I only share it because currently that knowledge doesn't give you any inherent advantage.

Dark sword, Sith saber. Lets go Team passion!
>>
>>37308091
Sure, you're right, Sith are powered by positive passions just as they are by negative ones. The thing is, being a Sith is inherently about surviving. What else can you expect from a ruling class of a galaxy-spanning empire, who are also the most elite warriors that exist in a very advanced future, each fully trained Sith having about the strategic value of small army. Only the strong make it through, because it's the top of the pyramid on which pretty much the entire empire rests, and there's only place for so much.
But because of the strict hierarchy within the Empire, even if you're one of those happy few rulers with wealth of several words, there's always one above you pissing on your head. But you want to be there pissing on everyone's head, but so do several others. In such a highly treacherous climate, paranoia and hate for your competitors are not only natural amplifiers for the dark side, but also things that keep you alive and on top. Showing love to someone in such an environment might be one of the fastest ways to end up dead or worse, at the bottom, just because it's such a powerful emotion. Not only do your competitors know what your weak spot is, and can use it in any number of ways, the thing is you don't really know if the person you love really loves you back.
You might be a happy Sith couple channeling the dark side with the power of love for years, and care for your partner dearly, nothing's to say that you won't wake up one day with a saber through your gut and your partner snatching that one holocron you've finally found after years of searching.
Thing is, love often isn't worth it. It empowers you, but so does undying hate for your enemies. The one opens you up to being betrayed in an incredibly easy manner, the other keeps you strong and on your toes. Love might and probably does exist among Sith, but if anything they'll make sure no one ever sees their partnership as anything more than a political alliance.
>>
>>37314018
>the making a pawn thing doesn't really make sense yeah.

You think prisons don't have power struggles and hierarchies?

A prison gang leader can be as manipulative and cunning as any crime boss or politician.

You wake from your slumber with some regret. Never before had you slept so soundly, which might sound silly considering you were quite literally surounded by enemies as you dreamt. For you however, this had always been the case, sleeping with an eye open was a matter or instinct. It was the simple pleasure of having a bed to call your own that brought you such comfort. Such things had been fantasy only a week or so ago.

Now however was not the time for complatency. It seems most of your peers were currently still sleeping, likely because they had been afforded the luxury of a full nights sleep for the majority of their lives. Perhaps this could serve as an advantage for you in time. Currently two of the other beds in the dorm room are empty, one is Rodrik's while the other belongs to an individual who was eliminated after yesterday's sparing bouts.

You consider your options at the moment. You were not given any particular instructions for when you awoke, you imagine you will be summoned when it is time for your first real training session.

You decide that your new free time would be well spent getting a feel for your new weapon. You're confident in your ability to swing one weapon, if only because years of holding and operating mining equipment has given you a good sense of balance and momentum. This coupled with your experience in brawls and less than civilized combat gave you an advantage the other day. Two weapons would be tricky however, and you feel that you need to get a handle on the difference as soon as possible.

You make your way outside the dorm after collecting your two vibroblades, making a special effort to be quiet so as not to alert your peers. You quickly remember how to make your way out to the entrance of the Academy. As you make your way through the emptiness of it all disturbs you. Yesterday the bustle of the events kept your mind busy, however now that you stand alone inside the massive black building you can't help but feel small. It takes little time for you to make your way outside the academy, and once you're out you manage to find a hidden alcove created by the natural geography of the area.

The blades are unwieldy to say the least, and it takes a great deal of your focus not to nick yourself or drop them entirely. Luckily you do not lack the strength to wield them both individually, years of labor has seen to that. After about twenty minutes of swinging the blades and feeling out their weight you feel a little more confident that you wont cut yourself.

Suddenly you feel tense. Your instincts tell you that you are being watched.

3d10 as in how you just did it probably. A lot of QMs are using fate points to negate critfails/give out crit successes as well. Dunno if you want to take that into account or not. Using the force could be a good excuse for Soma's vys system as well. Most people like that system.

Soma uses 3d10 for everything, with modifiers for difficulty. If nobody passes the DC, it's a severe fail. 1 pass is a fail, 2 is success, 3 is great success. He also has a mana system in the game for casting spells, and we can use a portion of that mana to boost our rolls. I think he lets us use up to 25% of the mana but I'm not too sure.

How it would work is you have 20 ForcePoints to use. I cast force lightning, and 3 people roll a 10,14, and 24. If the DC is 15, that is a normal failure. We could spend 1 FP for a normal success, or 5 for a great success.

You decide that it's within your best interests to make it appear as if you have not noticed anything for at least a bit longer, just in case the person who may or may not have been watching you is still around. That and had they intended to harm you it's likely that they would have done so already. You go through some more motions and your arms begin to ache from the unusual strain of wielding the blades. Another fifteen minutes go by and you decide you have done enough.

You decide to do some quick searching for any nearby clues that could tell you if you were actually being watched or not.

For now I'm going to try 3d10 for combat and 1d100 for non-combat
I may do some experimentation with the Soma at a later date and work on a Force Points pool but for the sake of consistency I'll stick with the system above for now.

You do a quick search and manage to find a set of footprints behind one of the rocky outcroppings you believed had hidden you from view. Apparently there was a small crack between the rocks that gave a peep hole which you could be spied on from. The foot prints appear faint, which you conclude means the spy did not weigh much.

After determining that there was nothing else to be seen you decide to make your way back to the Academy for fear of being disciplined for being out. You manage to get back into the dorm just as your peers are waking from their rests and collect a change of clothes. It takes a moment for you to find your way toward the showers and you strip in short order.

You'd never really given much thought to what a shower felt like, but suffice it to say you had never imagined hot water could feel so good. Luckily your former masters had the good sense to make certain your cybernetics were waterproof, as it would make little sense to make such an investment in a slave when rain would be enough to ruin it. As you enjoy your shower you notice several other of your peers scramble into the room as you hear Master Jorrak outside.

"Wake up you lazy bastards I want you ready for training in fifteen minutes or I'll personally have you shipped back to whatever backwater planet you were scraped from. Move!"

It seems you were lucky you got back so early. You quickly finish your shower, get dressed and collect your blades.

Find Jorrak

>Find Master Jorrak or Nivah
Whichever we see first

So had another idea for weapons /tg, know it's a bit late, but what do you all think about a staff saber that you can split into two one handed sabers.

It would require the mastery of two different styles, but we're already starting on dual blade earlier than usual, so we could probably manage this.
Biggest downside is less time for force training that's not directly combat related
Upside is that we have two completely different saber styles and as such, once we have proficiency with them, will be able to beat almost anyone in a dual because of all the different way's we can catch them off guard.
>>
>>37320949
I think just dual wielding is probably best. Keep us focused and not ridiculous.
>>
>>37320949
More force training. Hell, force training in such a way to subtly fuck with people in combat
>>
>>37320949
>>37320949
Lets just stick with dual wielding for now.
>>
>>37320949
I'm still leaning towards sith sabers/force imbued blades. Call me old fashion but I enjoy the sight of blood from my foe. Not just sealing the wound shut.
>>
>>37320949
Well, we already are about a month ahead in force training, so I don't think we need to worry much there.

But yeah, this is pretty much the best way to do it, I think.
>>
>>37320811
>Try to find Nivah
or
>Find Master Jorrak

>>
>>37321015
I like the idea of having an off hand vibro blade too, simply because it's unexpected and efficient. My dual blades idea was just if we wanted to go full 'sith marauder' class, basically maximizing the utility of our light sabers.

by the looks of it more people want to focus on just dual blades and then mix in force combat, which works too.
My idea was a super long term project anyway.
>>
>>37321024
Yeah, we need to improve ourselves physically. There are about 10 people atm that can wreck us in a fight, and one of them already has a grudge against us
>>
>>37321058

>>
>>37321124

>>
>>37321024
We mustn't squander any of our time. Focus on training mind, body, and skill. They can all be done at basically the same time too given what we're doing.

>>37321058
I think just straight up two lightsabers would be good. Not for pure attack though, it basically allows us to parry one handed attacks while attacking. Give us more options in combat.

You figure that Nivah has always managed to find you without you going out of your way to find her, and make your way to your Master. It seems you are the first to actively seek out the gruff Zabrak. He stands next to a closed door at the end of a hallway and gives you a curt nod of approval at being so early. Your peers begin joining you in short order, the first of which is Rodrik. It appears he is set upon ignoring you for the time being which you find acceptable at least.

Once the rest of your group has arrived Master Jorrak speaks.

"Today you will begin your force training. In order to maximize your ability to both recover and learn from your training it will be staggered, meaning we will be alternating between the physical combat training and mental force training on a day to day basis. Most if not all of you have never truly tapped into the force... with a few exceptions."

The smug look on Rodrik's face makes you want a repeat performance of the other day.

"We will begin by attempting to have you perform the most basic use of the force. To push. Now, follow me."

The door behind Master Jorrak opens and you file in behind him. You find yourself in a massive room. It is divided into three sections, with each third of the room being separated by a large clear wall. You see the other Master's and their pupils filing in giving similar instructions to their pupils soundlessly. You also notice a large pane of black glass at the back of the room with a door next to it. Near the back there are several targets laying flat against the ground, about half a dozen of them.

"Mister Rodrik if you would be so kind"

Your adversary quickly steps forward, as he does one of the targets rises. After a moment of focusing Rodrik lashes out with an arm and a shock wave of Force slams against the target back downward.

"Now, do I have any volunteers?"

This is korrbian right? Just off them or become there minion in the valley of the sith. Let them bite off a larger chunk of shit and then leav'em to die.
>>
>>37321163
Step one is finding out if there are cameras in our dorm. Seems like a 60/40 chance that there are.
If not, we just murder them with someone else's vibro blade while wearing a glove then ditch it in an obvious place and put one of our blades in their locker so that it looks like they stole it.

If there are cameras we'll need to murder them outside of the dorms. Best way would be to invite them to a 'honor' dual outside of the academy. Make it seem like it's going to be one on one, no witnesses, for pride alone, and then bring others who want the guy dead.

It's not good to appear weak, ever. That makes us a target.
If we don't want to look too strong, we try and appear average, in the middle of the pack with how long it takes us/how well we can do it, maybe slightly better.

However, I don't think that's a good idea. Roderik is already out to get us, the best thing to to would be to perform just as well or almost as well as him. Not only does this give him a way to 'beat' us that doesn't include our death (i.e. being better than us in class) but it also means we can start building our own power base in a way that appearing average would not allow us to.

You decide to wait and try to get a feel for the ability you can expect from your peers. After some dirk kicking one of your peers steps forward, a young human man who was trying very hard to look terrified.

"In order to tap into the Force you must channel what it is that makes you Sith. Always remember the Code of the Sith.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

Channel your passion. Your emotions. Rage, fear, hatred, love, joy. All these things make you Sith, they make you powerful. Grab what drives you and wield it like you would a sword."

Master Jorrak's speech seems to have lit a fire under the young man who stepped forward as he turned to the targets with surprising determination. He lashed out as Rodrick did, however when the shockwave met the target it wobbled, yet remained standing.

"You have the power, but you lack focus. You must refine it, channel it, like the beam of a blaster. Next person step forward."

People begin stepping forward and making their attempts quickly. As you watch however you feel the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. Once again you feel as if you are being watched.

>>
>>37321606
No, very much no. Vibroblades, as the name implies vibrate. So if you tried half-swording it would very quickly saw its way through your hand.

Not that it would be needed, since any kind of armour that a vibroblade cant cut through will spontaniously animate and begin laughing if you tied hitting it with the pommel/guard.
>>
>>37321641#
yay
>>
>>37321695
It was the most common way to fight an armored opponent in the high middle ages. Grabing the sword allowed you to more easily aim for gaps in plate armor, or you could flip the sword around and use the hilt and pommel to bludgeon an enemy.
>>
>>37321739
True. Was just wondering, it is always good to discuss possible techniques, especially in a dog eat dog environment like this setting
>>
>>37321783
Simply using a lightsaber defeats the purpose of all of that.
Even if we used a vibro blade, being a force sensitive it would be child's play to cut into the weak spots of their armor.

Bludgeoning? get a steal rod, not a blade with integrated circuitry.

Be it through speed or luck your eyes dart to the left and for a fraction of a second you catch the gaze of the person who was just watching you. The Chiss woman, the one you had difficulty reading the other day during her sparring match, appears to have been watching you rather intently. The moment after you lock gazes she turns away in what could almost be called a casual wandering of eyes. Your guy however tells you that there was something more going on.
