You are Shee Hyul, rebel and psychic. Your world is ruled by inhuman creatures and this has gone on far too long, it’s time to fight back.

You, Lirael and Rainya are locked in mortal combat with the Gouger, and one of the Gifted just appeared, asking you *not* to hurt the Gouger. What?

We’ll it’s a long story...

You set out to hunt the Gouger and you saw a tall man looking for the Gouger, you avoided this man and, with Liraels help found the Gouger.

You lured the beast out into the open and you and Rainya are poised to shoot it until it stops moving: You’ve both already put a few shots into it. Lirael is on the beasts back, her tiny arms wrapped around its neck choking the life from it.

You managed to teleport away from most of the Gougers attacks but one tagged you and you went flying through someone’s house wall, still all the beatings you’ve taken have toughed you up somewhat. Pain fades as your body starts to adapt to the damage it has suffered.

[Shee HP 34/40]

A tall man with electricity arcing from his hands just ran into view, begging you not to hurt the Gouger – saying that *he* doesn’t know what he’s doing.

You could take him at his word and have everyone back off, for a little bit anyway, just in case this guy can handle the Gouger, or you take the Gouger down and deal with the guy afterwards.

What’s it to be?

>Everyone back off, give this guy a chance
>Put the Gouger down, it’s a killer (combat options in next post)
>Other (what?)

[Metapost]

At the end of last thread there was disagreement over spending 6XP: One (or more) anons wanted to get Enhance Senses, other(s) wanted to raise Charisma of the King of Hell to 4.

The abilities are copied below.

Enhance Senses
With a DC 10 Willpower check you can grant yourself a +2 bonus to perception checks.
For every 5 points you beat the DC by you increase the bonus to Perception by another 2.
Time: The bonus lasts for about 10 minutes.
Adept: Permanently increases Perception by (Willmod/2) to a maximum of +4. Increases duration to 1 hour.
Master: Permanently increases Perception by (Willmod) to a maximum of +8. Increases duration to 6 hours.

Charisma of the King of Hell 1: You add your rank in this power to all Fellowship rolls made to command, lead, persuade or negotiate.
Charisma of the King of Hell 2: When making a Fellowship roll to command or lead the highest of the first 4 rolls are used, not the highest of 3. The fourth dice counts for number of 20’s rolls but a 1 on the fourth dice is ignored. Critical successes override critical failures.
Charisma of the King of Hell 3: When making a Fellowship roll to intimidate or inspire fear the highest of the first 4 rolls are used, not the highest of 3. The fourth dice counts for number of 20’s rolls but a 1 on the fourth dice is ignored. Critical successes override critical failures. The bonus to Fellowship from Charisma of the King of Hell now applies to intimidate rolls.
Charisma of the King of Hell 4: When making a Fellowship roll to negotiate or persuade the highest of the first 4 rolls are used, not the highest of 3. The fourth dice counts for number of 20’s rolls but a 1 on the fourth dice is ignored. Critical successes override critical failures.

Please discuss which you want, if the players can agree on this then I’ll just go with that. If there’s disagreement then a vote will be called.

Do I see that right that Charisma levels only cost 2XP each? Thats amazingly cheap, why the hell wouldn't we want that?

Hope we can buy new levels in Blood Control at the end of the thread too then.

“If you really want this thing to survive” you yell at the newcomer “You’ll help us take him down without killing him.” To Rainya you add “Aim for its legs!”

You and Rainya continue shooting at the Gouger, trying to take it down without killing it as Lirael keeps trying to strangle it.

You bullet lodges in its leg and Rainyas needle shot tears open jagged fresh wounds on its legs, the Gouger bellows in pain and looks at Rainya, ignoring you and Lirael.

The newcomer rushes in close to the Gouger and starts yelling something at the Gouger, the Gouger simply brushes past him and pounces on Rainya, knocking her down. Pinned to the floor Rainya screams in fear and suddenly there is two Rainyas – one pinned, one not. The second Rainya backpedals away from the Gouger in fear, it seems the pinned one has the gun but is unable to use it

The Gouger opens its jaws wide and rears its head back to strike.

“Hold it still!” you yell to Lirael as you focus, digging deep within yourself for your power. Rainya isn’t over there, she’s next to you, she’s next to you. Nothing is happening! You see the Gougers head jerk forwards to strike, everything slows down, no! Rainya isn’t going to be its next meal dammit, she’s your friend, she doesn’t belong to the Gouger, she’s *yours*!

Lirael tries to hold the Gougers head back but she isn’t strong enough. The Gougers head lunges down and a screaming Rainya...appears next to you suddenly as the Gouger gets a mouthful of dusty ground.

The angry Gouger suddenly rolls onto its back, crushing a protesting Lirael under its bulk as she loses her grip.

[Lirael HP 33/39]

As the Gouger rolls to its feet Lirael stumbles to hers, only for the Gouger to pin Lirael down with both front paws, in a sickening moment of déjà vu you see the Gouger rear its head back to bite.

The other Rainya hangs back as the Rainya next to you gets unsteadily to her feet and starts shooting the Gouger. Her shots hit it, but do little damage.

The newcomer runs at the Gouger and keeps yelling at it: you can’t make it all out but its something about not wanting the Gouger to hurt a kid, trying to get the Gouger to come to its senses. He’s shouting a name too but you can’t make it out.

Or do the others not have something like that and it was just ommited because we already knew it?

Regardless, I still support the purchase.

The churning in your gut starts to spread through your body as you accept it and then briefly ignore it to focus on matters at hand. You concentrate on drawing Lirael to you, fortunately your connection to her is stronger than it is to Rainya and she quickly appears next to you as the Gouger is once again biting the dust. Lirael scrambles to her feet and stands close to you, trembling.

The other Rainya runs over to you and the Rainya next to her chucks her your old and battered gun that you gave her what seems like weeks ago. The two Rainyas blaze away at the Gouger as it throws its head back and roars in frustration at its continually disappearing prey.

Wounds appear all over its body and it spins around to head in your direction. The man in the long coat hesitates and then plants himself firmly in the Gougers path yelling “No, you’ll have to go through me!” or something like that.

The Gouger obliges and barrels into him, slamming him to the ground, one of the man’s arms held in its jaws it shakes its head back and forth as the man tries, and fails, to suppress a yell of pain.

The Gouger is distracted and you have a clear shot at its head: One well-aimed bullet could end this. Or, since your allies are no longer in immediate danger, you could see what this guy can do – if anything. For all you know he might be helpless against this monster.

This thing is too dangerous, plus that idiots like is in danger, even if he doesn’t see it that way.

“Keep shooting” you say to Rainya, as Lirael holds onto you with one hand. Rainya blazes away with both guns as you breathe, calming yourself for the right moment. The Gougers head is in your sights, now its eye, but its thrashing around too much, you need it still dammit, stay still!

Rainya continues to open blooding wounds on the Gougers body as her two guns pepper it with shots but the Gouger simply keeps gnawing on the guys arm.

There’s a bright flash of light and finally the Gouger stops moving, just long enough for you to squeeze the trigger, the bullet flies from your gun and towards into its eye. The Gouger twitches at the last minute and your bullet hits its cheek instead. You curse your poor luck.

All around the two of them dances electricity – you realise that’s where the light came from, the guy hit the Gouger with some sort of power or whatever and he stopped it long enough for you to shoot.

The Gouger roars in pain and releases the guys arm as with his other he blasts it with lightning again. Now its the Gouger that seems to be trying to escape but its limbs don’t seem to be working and it looks hurt.

The Gouger is moving slowly, you’re sure with another shot you could kill it.

The man in the coat scrambles up and watches the Gouger, but keeps his distance. You keep your gun trained on the Gouger and say to Rainya “stop firing for now, but be ready.”

From here you can see the Gouger twitching and breathing as it lies on its side, but not doing much else.

“Wrong?” you ask

“He started getting hungry all the time” says Lirael “And forgot his own name, he knew something was wrong but didn’t know what, so he ran away into Dust Town.”

“And Jaze?” you ask, Lirael points at the man crouched by the Gouger, talking softly to it, yeah that’s what you thought.

“Hey” you yell, *Jaze* ignores you.

“Hey!” you yell again. He looks around, irritated

“You have only a few moments” you say “to convince me that you can make this thing stop murdering people. Otherwise I'm going to kill it for the safety of me and mine.”

I wouldn't really say that going for 'non-lethal' shots was majorly endangering us, not much more than engaging the gouger in the first place, anyway.

>>37306392
See above, we kinda started it with the dumb write-in.
>>
>>37306380
>>37306404
As the guy who voted for making him thank us first, we don't need to say that. Shee is not that much of a dick, so its not really worth making a argument out of it if someone strongly opposes it.
I stick to shooting him though.
>>
>>37306404
As one of the people who voted to shoot it. If he actually comes around to our request for thanks, I think not shooting it would be fine. Who knows how Pally will handle it though. We seem to be in a bind, we need to assert ourselves and stand up against a horror that has slaughtered our people because this guy wasn't able to stop it, as well as help this guy and his friend. I can see both options as justifiable.
>>
>>37306420
I have no idea what is going on in your head where making someone who has proven very reckless with endangering others to save his friend, tell us a good reason not to shoot him.
Because yeah, we have good reason to want to shoot him. If he were actually concerned for his friend, he would have at least told us he is a alright guy and its not his fault or some shit likle that. Not tell us to go away and let him continue endanger peoples lives for his feelings.
We have literally no reason to take his word for anything and let this thing live after what it has done, allowing him a chance to convince us that he can subdue it on his own, after he was clearly not be able to do so before, is us being nice and understanding.
>>
>>37306443
Only one person voted for both shooting and thanking, and that was >>37306422.
So your vote on thanking instead of shooting is pretty much not-valid after the closing of the voting period.

Just deal with it guys. This is not 'nice rebel paladin quest', this is a 'cuntbag violent cultist quest'.
>>
>>37306484

>>37306485

As the man keeps talking to the twitching Gouger you ask Lirael “Do you think you could do anything to heal its mind?”

Lirael shakes her head “No” she says “It’s all...bits, my mother could maybe, but I wouldn’t know how.”

Well, that’s that. You take careful aim at the Gouger and shoot, your bullet hits it in the eye and it thrashes briefly and lies still. The man jumps back cursing, and then turns in your direction.

He stomps up to you, his hands giving of flashes of electricity. Lirael and Rainya step away from you in case you have to fight but he stops short and instead of punching you he just pokes his finger in your face and yells s you stand your ground.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” He opens with.

“Putting down a monster that had killed people” you say “And that chewed up your arm and tried to kill my friends.”

“You had no right to do that!” he almost screams “He was listening to me, I could have helped him! You stupid...duster!”

How do you respond?

>He was suffering, I ended it

>someone who has proven very reckless with endangering others to save his friend
Endangering people who were already fighting the Gouger, by asking them to not kill him.

>he would have at least told us he is a alright guy and its not his fault or some shit likle that
He said pretty much that exact thing last thread, anon. Maybe he didn't see any point in repeating himself.

>Not tell us to go away and let him continue endanger peoples lives for his feelings.
When did he start? I don't count us. If you're the anon that thought he had already found the Gouger and tried this before, you've just chosen an action based off an assumption that's probably wrong given Jaze's actions in thread 7.

>Back off or get hurt! (this pleases the King of Hell)

>>37306510
>Endangering people who were already fighting the Gouger
Pretty sure he is talking about the Dusters the Gouger killed.

THe churning and twisting in your body reaches a fever pitch, you need to do something about it now.

The Ichor in the Depths offers one of the following 3 Gifts

Tentacles
You grow four 6ft-long tentacles on your body, typically emerging from your back. They appear as amorphous black and green limbs and have the same strength as your normal limbs. Higher ranks grant you more tentacles and make them stronger.

Limbs Unrivalled
You can use a weapon in each hand without penalty – as long as they are one-handed weapons. If you later gain other limbs this applies to them as well. When fighting unarmed you can make two attacks (more if you have more limbs) without penalty. This Gift does not have later levels.

Wishcrafting
Your psychic powers (and some gifts) are stronger when granting others desires.
At Wishcrafting 1 you may use the spoken wish (any spoken request or even an idly-voiced desire) of any creature you can see and hear to enhance any psychic power or Gift that requires a d20 roll, the power or gift must be used within 1 minute of the wish being uttered. The wish does not need to name the power, or even specifically request that you grant the wish, but the spell you cast must thematically follow the wish in order to use this ability (following the spirit of the wish, not the wording). You cannot use this ability to directly benefit yourself. Once you have granted a creatures wish you cannot grant a wish for that creature for 24 hours. When using the ability to grant a wish you add your degree in Wishcrafting to the Willpower check.
Later levels grant much larger bonuses to specific (player-nominated) powers when granting wishes, can be used to compel a creature into making a wish, allow you to twist the meaning of a wish, and allows access to powers beyond your normal abilities – but only when granting wishes.

Tentacles isn't a option, and Wishcrafting sounds a bit too vague, not sure how useful it actually is, since we can also grant gifts with Blood Control later.

Those dusters weren't endangered by Jaze, though. He'd never found the Gouger previously so we can't say he'd already endangered anyone or that he would've even let his friend live if he really couldn't get through to him.

Yes they were, because he didn't tell anyone about this thing, or its nature. He clearly didn't speahead a effort to secure it either, so yes, he endangered people with keeping its nature secret.
He was CLEARLY the guy we followed close to the Gougers lair.
And again, he also endangered us when he rfused to attack the Gouger. He was willing to watch Rainya and Lirael get mauled to death just to not attack him.

I wrote out a pretty long response about Fae being dicks and dusters being discriminatory and most of them self-serving, then I realized it probably wasn't going to persuade you anyway.

Wishcrafting is great, but at this point, we have only two powers to use with it, and we don't really need a modifier o +1 for Apport that badly. It might be nice for Heal, but still not a huge difference.

I hope we can find something with Mirror or Baalzamon to hide them more reliably with.

“Back off or get hurt” you say, staring him in the eye. He glares back at you.

[King of Hell Approval +1]

“You murdered him” he hisses at you.

You get up in his face, the two of you only inches apart “Could you read his mind?” You ask

“What?” he says

“Could you read his mind?” you repeat.

“No” he admits “but what-”

“We can,” you say “and there was nothing left salvaging. He was nothing more than a threat to other people. He killed dozens of Dusters, their lives apparently don't mean anything to you, but they mean something to me.”

“You-” he starts, then stops, then tries again “I-”

There’s a pause “How many?” he asks “How many did Ben kill?”

“I just said dozens” you say “maybe more.” You watch him closely.

“Oh” he says, his eyes seem to lose focus “Oh...” In this light you can’t see much detail but he seems...saddened.

“Where any of them your friends?” he asks

“Not close ones” you admit “But I knew some of them.”

He looks away “I’m sorry” he says “for your loss.” He turns to walk away and then turns back towards you.

“How can you read minds?” he asks, looking at you suspiciously.

Ah...

Psychics are illegal, low-powered champions are tolerated at best – high powered ones either work for the fae or die, mages and Gifted also work for the Fae, only vampires and fae (or part-fae) have mind-reading powers legally without working for the fae.

Your response?
>None of your business
>This girl is a vampire
>I have champion powers
>Distract him, making him angry (insult his friend? Other way? This pleases the Infinite Mirror)

Wishcrafting has an incredible range of utility.

Lirael: "Boy, I sure wish that guy trying to kill us would just disappear or something, you know?"

Gives us a big benefit to our apportation roll.

Lirael: "Ouch, I'm hurt! I wish this cut would go away!"

Gives us a large benefit to healing her.

It's defensive, utility and offensive, all rolled up into one.

My problem with Limbs Unrivaled is that it only helps us with our secondary attack (We really don't use unarmed much, especially because we can just teleport away from most meleers) and that it only synergises with Tentacles, which I don't want because reasons. It also seems to have little in the way of utility.

Also if we tell this guy we are gifted, we might be able to get him to teach us stuff. His electricity powers are apparently very rare for instance. The only way you can learn them is through a teacher. So, really it's a good opportunity if we can make it work.
>>
>>37306954
That would make it pretty likely for him to see through our lie, we have no knowledge of how gifted are actually made, what fae we could pretend to serve and such.
>>
>>37306954
Gifted probably don't work that way. More likely the Fae that made him Gifted knows Electrokinesis and gave him some abilities from that.

>>
>>37306980
Gifted are the guys the fae empower.

>>
>>37307119
One of the options from Baalz will probably be something to aid our deception though.
>>
>>37307148
Yeah, but we may need Deception to not screw ourselves over by taking the option that leads to Baalz favor. We also need 2 points of favor to get his first power, since that's how it seems to work.

Not saying it's high priority or anything, just that it might be a decent thing to pick up.
>>
>>37307029
How is it too close to the truth though?
Literally every statement in that sentence is a lie.
We don't have Champion powers, champion powers weren't used for the mind-reading, nor did we do the mind-reading.

>>37307171
>Not saying it's high priority or anything
I would actually say it is pretty high-priority. We don't get a lot of chances for Baalzamon and Mirror because sofar their option were usually not very good, so heightening our chances for the few attempts we have, is probably a good idea.
>>
>>37307199
I think Baalzamon just likes particularly outragous lies. So stuff that actually requires to put in a bit of effort constructing.
Contrary to what the Fortune Teller told us, he doesn't seem to be for little white lies.

You feel a burning in your chest as the power of the King of Hell blooms within you, you’ll need to do something about that...

“I’m a Champion” you say “but I would prefer you keep that to yourself. I would hate to have to seek you out to keep my secrets.”

There’s a pause. Then he straightens up, using his height to tower over you “A champion” he says, then nods at the two Rainyas “Two champions huh? I expect you’ll have been tested by the fae to see if your powers are useful, and how strong they are? I mean, mind-reading sounds very useful.”

“We have” you say “We were told our powers were too erratic to be useful.”

He stares at you hard, like he doesn’t believe you, the darkness making his face hard to read.

“And yet...” he says “You’re a good shot, the little girl seems very tough and you can teleport people, mind-reading and teleportation, an unusual combination.”

Uh oh, he seems to be thinking too much about this.

>How is it too close to the truth though?

Fair point. Baalazamon doesn't like lies that get the speaker in trouble.

You lie to protect yourself or others, or lie to get others in trouble.

A lie that can land you in trouble is (from his point of view) pointless.
>>
>>37307310
Wouldn't have claiming to be a gifted also brought us into trouble? Since we know he doesn't like the fey, and therefore claiming to work for them could have made him think we were send to murder his friend specifically?
Not to mention it would have given us the same problem of explaining where we got Gifted.

Not saying we should get favor, I'm just trying to get a good idea of the Fives mindset.
>>
>>37307331
>Wouldn't have claiming to be a gifted also brought us into trouble?

He glares at you suspiciously and then says “Alright” and turns to go, he says back over his shoulder “Don’t do any of that where anyone can see you though, you’ll get in trouble.”

The burning in your chest becomes uncomfortably hot, you need to do something about it now...

The King of Hell offers you a choice of one of three gifts.

Behemoth
You can fly into a rage that grants you a bonus to strength, constitution and damage reduction. At later levels your rage gets more powerful and you grow in size when you rage.

Durability of the King of Hell
Gain a bonus to Constitution and hit points and natural damage reduction. Higher levels increase all of these and add (slow) regeneration. Initial level has no physical change but later levels do.

Infernal Focus
You can nominate a single weapon, set of armour or other object (or set of objects – i.e. a toolset) to enhance with this power. You gain a bonus to all rolls using the object. Later levels increases the bonus and peripherals unlock specific powers (weapons that burst into flame, flying armour, tools that make or repair things supernaturally fast etc).

A vote will be called in 10 minutes, no votes before it is called will be counted.

Dialogue vote-clock is still running normally.

Seduction was mechanically completly terrible. Only the feature hiding part was worth anything, and that didn't even hide them in-combat.
>>
>>37307577
Seduction gave social bonuses for offering anyone a deal.

Seduction gave hiding benefits all the time, INCLUDING in combat.

Higher level seduction also gave us the power to give powers to other people.

No, you're full of shit.

Don't say shit like that, it explicitly didn't hide them when in use.

The social bonus was terrible because it requires us to phrase everything as deal and offer something. Something we would have to actually give up if we deal with a person we can't afford to just ignore. So we not only would have been limited in what we can say, but also lost something everytime we used it. Thats awful.
And a lot of gifts allow us to give other people powers, like Blood Control, for example.

There was nothing good about seduction.

That was already mentioned as literally the only thing remotly good about it, and its still only situationally useful because it doesn't hide mutations, like tnetacles, when tehy are being used. Which means we still can't use them around people we don't want to know about them.
It was just a bad powersuit all around.

And its very silly to assume that Mirror and Baalzamon won't have something that also does that in one of their powersuits.

I can read. The fact is, if we're in combat we may not need to use them, we may have other non-combat mutations. In such a case you would have been blatantly lying in saying that "In combat Seduction does not hide our mutations."

>Stop making shit up, we have absolutely no idea how good any of those are.
Yes we do. They're the same powers WE'RE getting.

>Persuasion and Deception are alot broader in meaning thatn a deal
Seduction is too. Seducing someone into another way of thinking by showing them the benefits (Such as, "I won't shoot you", or "You'll have me as your ally" or "I'll take you shopping and go dancing with you.") None of them involve having to give something up.

It explicitly states we have to offer a reward of some sort. So yes, it means we need to phrase our answer so specific, that it offers something, and if that person doesnt get from our offer what we promised, he will be mighty pissed.

>The fact is, if we're in combat we may not need to use them
Oh wow, we get a power to hide our mutations so we can never use them. Amazing. I'm in awe.

“Let’s go” you say to Lirael and Rainya “We’re done here.”

“Yeah” says Rainya, re-uniting herself and handing you back your needler pistol, with none of the spare ammo you bought with you.

As the three of you head back you say to Rainya “used it all huh?”

She ducks her head in embarrassment “I just wanted to keep shooting until it stopped” she admits, “Sorry I used all your ammunition.”

You shake your head “Don’t worry about it” you say “I’m just glad you’re both ok.”

As you walk you talk quietly about the fight, your hunt for the Gouger, how scared you all were.

You master the power of the King of Hell at channel it into your body, making you harder to hurt.

[Durability of the King of Hell 1: you get a +1 bonus to constitution, and damage reduction 2. You also gain 5 extra hit points.]

When you reach Rainyas home she bids you goodnight and you go home with Lirael, the two of you climb into bed and Lirael asks “That man, Jaze, why were you so angry with him Shee?”

You think before answering “He endangered people” you say “He could have had a whole bunch of people come to help his friend but instead decided to do it alone, because of that, people died.”

“Yeah” says Lirael “He just seemed, so sad.” With that cryptic comment she falls asleep.

You lie awake, thinking about what you’ll be doing tomorrow, no that the Gouger is dealt with.

What are your plans for tomorrow evening?

Still restricts our ability to actually use that power, because we need to figure out something to offer that the other person would be seduced by. Which is highly limited by person and situation, and again, its still something the person needs to get out of it, or we just pissed that person of.

Did you read what I wrote?
The reason we only interacted with Rainya is because we roped her into looking after Lirael, because of the favor she owed us.
That favor we got from the Prologue, in which we interacted with her about as much as with anyone else.

So we had a reason to interact with Rainya, that favor, we don't have anything like that with the others.
But if you can think of something to involve them with us, like the warmech, then feel free.
>>
>>37308125

>>
>>37308180
Yeah, but we could just do that ourselves or have one of the Rainyas do it. Better to have a duplicate do it anyway, in case something goes horribly wrong.

You and Lirael rise as normal and before going out Lirael feeds from you, you leave your shack feeling blissful and happy and not upset about anything. It’s good to be back where everything is right. You realise you haven’t taken any Shine or other drugs for several days now, and you barely feel any craving for them.

Still...Lirael fed pretty deeply from you and was still hungry, she must have used up a lot of power wrestling the Gouger, you expect you’ll need to feed her again tonight, not that you mind of course, with your powers you can keep her happy and fed easily.

Work is its usual monotonous routine and you count the minutes until your shift ends. You head home and pick up Lirael from school and you both meet Rainya at dinner. After dinner you teleport the three of you to the Psychic Research Facility.

Lirael complains about being hungry so you excuse yourselves and take care of her needs...and yours.

Emerging from the dorms you are ready to start work on your warmech, once again you feel happy, cheerful, and you just want everyone to feel this good. As prepare to head down to the maintenance bay, Lirael at your side, Rainya joins you, you grab her in a hug “Rainya!” you say “Isn’t this great, us friends together again?”

“Shee” says Rainya “I’m grateful and all but why do you want me here, I mean, what do you want me to do?”

“Whatever you want” you say, feeling happy “You could help me fix my mech, you could work on your firearms skills, I think there were some ranges down here, or maybe the Teacher has some sort of course for you.”

“I thought he said he couldn’t teach me how to use my powers” says Rainya.

“Maybe” you say “But you could learn about technology, or history or anything.”

Rainya thinks about it “Maybe later” she says “For now I want to see you fix this mech-thing”. Lirael trails behind the two of you, a datapad in her hands as she plays some sort of game.

>>37308180

That doesn't even make any sense.

You're also neglecting the fact that having two feeders would mean we receive fewer bites from Lirael and wind up being subjected more frequently to higher levels of addiction when we need to do shit in the Hive.

He might simply want to play Shee as a different sort of person than you do. Thats a valid approach, we keep gaining Favor with Ichor and the King of Hell, its definitly not OOC for Shee to become increasingly controlling.
The same for considering Lirael hers.

Getting fewer bites is not a huge problem, if we still get bitten every day, we are still good in that regard.

>The problem is we're already receiving less than one bite a day under normal circumstances.
Not as I see it no. We had pretty much made clear one bite per day. Because Lirael recieves 8 from us per bite, and was nowhere near cap when we started feeding her, so one bite per day is pretty solid as a estimate.

Once she is full, I don't think she will have much problem burning that blood if it gets her fed more. She enjoys it too, afterall.

You feel a blush heating your cheeks, you ignore it “It’s just to keep her alive and well” you say “It needs doing and it’s a burden I’m willing to bear.” There that should do it and no stupid blush is going to-

“I heard” says Rainya, wondering “That vampire bites are pleasurable...” she falters a bit and then adds “Like...sex pleasurable.”

Oh damn.

You try to ignore your flushed skin and say “Not necessarily I mean yes sometimes it feels that way but I don’t always orga- I mean, not all the time.”

Rainya just gives you a horrified yet fascinated look “Really?” she draws out the word “She’s a child and you’re having-”

“No we’re not” you whisper as Lirael happily plays her videogame behind you “It’s just biting, it’s blood not- not the other thing.” You can’t bring yourself to say it.

“Well, as long as you’re happy together” says Rainya, looking a little weirded out as she walks on ahead of you.

Ah crap...that could have better.

You get down to the repair bay and spend several hours working on your mech, Lirael and Rainya sometimes work with you, sometimes Lirael plays on her computer games, sometimes Rainya joins her.

When you and Lirael are working on the mech together, you spot Rainya watching you, a curious but baffled look on her face.

You smile wryly as you work on your mech, yeah people always thought you and Ashley were having sex too. You never did, you thought a few times he wanted to ask but didn’t have the confidence. Vamps and feeders...yeah the emotional bond can get very strong, heck, many vamps *do* sleep with their feeders and their spouses seldom complain, but you don’t need to have sex to feel good with a vamp, the biting fulfils that need.

You look up after tightening the last power coupling – this thing should be able to walk now, though not much else, yet. You can see Rainya and Lirael dozing on a bench together, Liraels head on Rainyas shoulder, the datapad in her lap, awwww that’s so cute.
>>
>>37308644
Not him. We'll be badass in a teleporting mech.
>>
You check your watch: it’s late and you should get some rest, but...you feel tired but also energized, like you can keep working for another few hours. Either way Lirael and Rainya need to get some sleep, lying down, not slumped on a bench. You probably should too – if you don’t you’ll be tired tomorrow, but you want to keep working, you’ve made so much progress already.

Pretty sure it will come up again.
Without it, it will be hard to make the warmech usable for us, since putting it on will take time.

You rouse a sleepy Rainya and put a dozing Lirael on your back and head up to the dorms, finding them a couple of clean beds you tuck them in for the night.

You head back down to the repair bay, alone, late at night. Can you hear insects? Huh, they’re gone now.

You work late into the night, pushing yourself as hard as you can to finish this thing. Yeah, good job, the reactor initialises fine in test phases, now you just need to get it running properly and fix the armour and shields, and the weapons systems.

[Warmech repairs 71% Complete, Jagganatha Favour +1]

The next morning you are *tired*. You manage to teleport the three of you home without any problems but giving Lirael a short feed almost puts you to sleep, your usual blissful feeling making you drowsy instead.

At work you keep making mistakes and having to go back and fix them, some of your co-workers ask after your health, you tell them you’re just tired, that you had trouble sleeping.

On the bus back out of the Hive you fall asleep and almost miss your stop, fortunately your subconscious seems to know the route and you wake up just in time.

You pick up Lirael from school and half-listen to her chat about what happened as the two of you head to dinner.

You recall that you have 3 nights to yourself before you’re due to have Sergeant Yonsul contact you, and 4 nights until Charuns mission, and you haven’t even rigged up a relay yet, or looked into getting any sort of protection against mind-reading.

What is on the agenda this evening?

>Work on your Warmech
>Build a Relay that you can patch into the comm. station
>Activate a new psychic power (this pleases Jagganatha)
>Seek the favour of one of the Five (which?)
>Spend time with someone (who? can combine with other options)
>Other (what?)

I doubt there is someone, but if people want it, might as well try.

Sounds good. Might as well see if Rainya wants to hang out too. She can keep Lirael entertained while we work.

Maybe we get her to learn some tech one of these days.

Perhaps we should try to seek the favour of the Mirror god and hopefully activate a power that helps us against mind reading, rather than activate a power for that purpose? Not today since getting that relay done would be useful, but in future.
