You are Reinhold, master swordsman and victor of the Royal Swordsmanship Tournament. The King was so impressed with your skill, he personally requested that you be transferred out of the army and into the Royal Guard! Not bad for an orphan who was raised in a brothel in a poor fishing village.

The only issue at this point is your assignment... you've been charged to be the personal guard of the King's only daughter Marianne. While she is the vision of loveliness that you'd expect from a Princess, her personality is... well... she seems to have some issues.

So Inaba is a little girl now...

...and Ariane managed to force Karel into that dress that she was wearing last night...

...and you'll be leaving with Luciana to go and visit Citrine once you're finished with breakfast, too. Today's really looking up.

>Congratulations, Reinhold is now a fearsome DIRE WOLF!
>Much larger than their the other types of wolf, the Dire Wolf's size also means that they are also that much more dangerous.
>The Princess considers you to be her dear friend!
>But while dire wolves are massive, they still don't -quite- stand on the same level as people.

"Are we gonna get to eat breakfast soon?" Carina asks, looking up at you.
"That's what we're sitting here for right now," you reply. "Are you really hungry?"
"Kinda..."

Carina's stomach picks that exact moment to let its desires be known.

"...kinda a lot..." Carina mumbles.
"I hungry too," Inaba says, turning to Elena. "You said I could eat."
"Well you gotta wait," Elena says, shrugging. "It's worth it, though!"

Dejected, Inaba slumps down into her chair and rests her chin on the table.

"Come to think of it," you say as you look at the bunny girl, "is she even able to eat human food?"
"Huh?" Elena turns to you. "Why wouldn't she be able to?"
"Well she's a rabbit, right? Those are herbivores..."
"Herbi...?" Carina tries and fails to repeat what you said.
"It means that they can only eat plants," Ariane says. "But ascended animals gain a proper human form and are thus able to eat anything that we do."
"Oh," you nod.
"Though a lot of them tend to want to stick with the type of food that they'd been eating since that's what they're used to..."
"I eat what you eat," Inaba mumbles. "Hungry."

Well you guess that settles that issue...

"So Carina," you say, turning to the little girl, "did you enjoy Rana's tour of this mansion?"
"Uh-huh!" Carina nods enthusiastically. "This house is really big!"
"It sure is," Ariane laughs.
"It's way bigger than anywhere back h-" she glances at you, "back where I usedta live."

Looks like she's still taking what you said to her yesterday pretty seriously.

"Sure is," you say, nodding.
"And Rana said that Nicolette's mommy cleans up the whole place all by herself!" Carina says, holding up her arms in the air. "That must take all day!"

Ariane's "no sense of right or wrong" is more due to her ara ara than her wizardry.

Arch's most wizardly character is probably Lorelei, and she's not even technically a a wizard.

if it wasn't for the fact that doing so would cause Nico to not exist, I'd vote for Reinhold to go back in time and take the Ariane route
>>
>>37343203

"You'd think so," Ariane laughs, "but I have magic to help me out with that so tidying up doesn't take up much time at all."
"Wow," Carina nods.
"Ariane is magic?" Inaba asks.
"The magic-est," Ariane says, winking at the bunny. "Though Karel's also pretty magical too!"

This seems to pull Karel from her daze of embarrassment.

"Huh?" she turns to Ariane. "I just started learning magic like a month ago so I'm not really..."
"Oh, but you're filled with the magic of -love-!" she giggles.

With a loud groan, Karel places her head on the table and tries to shield herself with her arms.

>>
>>37343523

Though you feel pretty bad for Karel right now, it's become more than apparent that Ariane isn't going to stop any time soon. The best that you'd probably be able to manage yourself is redirecting her teasing onto yourself, and that's really not something that you want to do.

Ever.

So instead you opt to pass the time talking to Carina instead.

"Hey, do you want to go see Citrine today?" you ask the little girl.
"Yeah!" Carina says enthusiastically. "I wanna thank her for giving me this dress!"
"Well that's where we're going after we leave here."

"Reinhold's grandma is like the coolest lady ever and I just want to see her and-" she starts choking up.
"Don't cry," Inaba says, wrapping her arm around her. "You can play with me instead?"
"......" Elena wipes away her tears.

Though Ariane's right, you can't help but feel kind of guilty about all this... maybe you shouldn't have mentioned Agnes around Elena.

"Hey," Karel speaks up, "Ariane said that she'll probably be showing up at the castle to beat up my old man like everyone else did, remember?" she says with a weak smile. "You can see her then!"

Her other siblings, and her cousins, are all perfectly aware that royal status doesn't mean you always get your way.

Royal blood doesn't negate giving a child a proper upbringing and somehow make it okay to allow them to become spoiled.

Hell, based on the stories Arch has told us of his other protagonists, and the state of the rest of the world, everyone Reinhold has met, save for Citrine, has lived a pretty pampered life as a whole.

Honestly, I don't understand why everyone feels like Reinhold needs to take responsibility for Carina.

Getting her a job in the royal household - even as a servant - would be the fast track to a life better than she could have imagined in her wildest dreams.

She'll be treated with respect, will learn a trade that isn't whoring - which she would have ended up doing if she'd stayed in Cateno, that or end up dead one day - and not only be familiar with many of the most influential people in Granache because of our influence, also have some links to Marconetti.

And you just know even if we're not taking responsibility we are going to visit.

Imagine, if you will, how Reinhold would feel about the following situation:
Not only is boss polite and respectful to him, he's occasionally even grateful for his efforts cleaning up about the place.
He's given clean, comfortable quarters and a professional-looking uniform.
He's paid for his work with money he can spend on whatever he likes.
Volker is alive and comes to visit now and then.
No rape.

Good, right?

That's the situation Reinhold would be providing for Carina getting her a job with the castle's serving staff.

It looks like she's about to fall over, but Guillaume supports her before that can happen.

"It's true," Ariane says, shrugging. "Elena's pet bunny up and turned into a real girl."
"Oh my God..." Luciana gasps. "Reinhold, is -this- why you were asking about an extra place at the table?"

>>37345985
I wouldn't go as far as formal adoption, and I agree that getting a job in the palace is a good thing for Carina but I do think that Rein should be taking some responsibility for her.

A job and a home isn't the same as family, the other girls will be sending letters to their folks and visiting them on days off. Carina still needs somebody to rely on and confide in and Reinhold should be there to help her in any way she needs because while the bosses in the castle are nice enough, they've got dozens of other staff to look after as well, kids need someone to look after them personally.

Hi! I'll visit the castle but other than that fuck off and enjoy life!

I seriously can't get why you think being a maid is perfectly acceptable.

>>37346149
I'd call Melanie Worst Girl.
It can pay just fine. Sure she doesn't resent it she has no higher aspirations. "Scrub the floors, make the beds!"
>>
>>37346188
Not that anon, but I don't get why you don't realize that's still a massive, huge improvement over living in the street, getting beat, and living off of scraps. All I'm hearing is 'that's not good enough!!!1'.
>>
>>37346103
I binged through the entirety of this quest over the past week and I don't remember that ever being said.
>>
>>37346144
Hey!

I wasn't Lazy. I got shouted down.
At one point I was even given a 3-day ban for trying to pursue her when everyone was particularly angry about it one day and was arguing.

Not even for shitposting, all I posted was "I want to spend time with Nico" and then, poof, banned.
>>
>>37346188
>It's shit prospects.
It really isn't. They are fantastic prospects compared to sleeping in a box.

>It's totally abandoning and sense of responsibility for the girl.
Getting her a respectable, well-paid job is very responsible.

>I seriously can't get why you think being a maid is perfectly acceptable.
Because it is.

People have jobs.
>>
>>37346188
Because it is, you contrarian shit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a made, especially compared to where she started off from.
>>
Daily reminder that Luci is a cunt.

So, clearly you've never actually had a job involving actual work in your life.

Otherwise you'd realise just how much of a myopic dickhead you're being.

Anything is an improvement over living in a box. That's a horrible scale.

Way to raise aspirational children, guys. And that's without the self-reinforcement that being firm now in any way corrects the huge fuck up Rein was responsible for last time Elena wanted to visit Agnes.

You are aware that she was living in fucking Canteno before we brought her home, right?

That 'better life' was getting shived and raped in an alley somewhere.
Besides, you're acting as if she couldn't quit. She could demand that we take her back to Canteno right now if she wanted to and we would do that.

But she's isn't gonna.
>>
>>37346144
I for one am happy with the results. We didn't end up with moeblob and that's good enough.
>>
>>37346188
I seriously can't get why you would think being a maid in the ROYAL FUCKING PALACE is somehow unacceptable. It's easily one of the cushiest gigs a person could land in their entire fucking life.

So yes, you are talking out of your ass, if you think that being one of the working staff to THE MOST FUCKING IMPORTANT, WEALTHIEST AND INFLUENTIAL POLITICAL FIGURES IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, AND IN THE PRESENCE OF THE ROYAL FAMILY ITSELF is somehow 'shit prospects'.

People in that country could only DREAM of having a room in the palace. And you're fuckin' bitching and moaning about 'hurr but she gon' mop da FLOAHS'. Oh fuck me, how dreadful, CLEANING DUTIES.

Why, oh why, can't Carina aspire to something else within her field of non-existant interests. Oh wait, that's not true, she likes swording, like Reinhold does.

Yeah, let's teach her to be an adventurer. I'm sure that's not shit prospects at all, living out in the woods in a fucking tent, risking being eaten by monsters, hacked to pieces by bandits (or raped because she's a FEMALE adventurer!) or having to lower herself to working for whoremongering shitbags because they have money to spare like Volker and Adrien (FUCKING ADRIEN, REMEMBER HIM? THE PRINCE?) had to do in order to survive as travelling swordsmen.

Seriously, man, fuck you, you don't know what you're talking about.
>>
>>37346103

I'm pretty sure more than a few of the people participating in the waifu wars were janitors/mods.

And I'm more than certain they were using their mod powers to silence sides of the waifu wars they didn't like. I remember people joke-suggesting that we pursue the Rana.

Within 5 minutes, their posts were gone.
That's the last time I participated in the Waifu wars when they came up.

>>37346278
So what, you just want Carina to freeload off us for her whole life and never get a job?
Being employed doesn't prevent us from spending time with her, she has to go somewhere while we're busy protecting Mari and she might as well spend that time doing something useful like being an apprentice.
>>
>>37346320
So, what exactly is your minimum standard for a "respectable" job?

>>
>>37346269
You're right. Let's strap a cute little maid dress on her and have her start scampering around the castle. We'll visit every other year and she should be fucking grateful we took the time to look at her once.

Volker and Adrian are idiots.

I didn't say teach her to be an adventurer I'm saying there is a chance to give someone a real chance at anything worth while. But apparently "SCRUBBING FLOORS IS A GREAT HONOR, BLUE COLAR! WORK FER A LIVIN!"

Okay, I know he said that and then I believe he said he planned on making a quest where we could pick our own back story and all that, or atleast I think so. I might have simply misinterpreted what he meant. I'm still confident that he said he was going to run another quest, whether he's still going to seems very doubtful. I was wishing he was so I could get back into this since all the spells and lore was pretty cool.

Once again, you've proven you've never actually held an actual job in your life.

And given that you seem to be implying that the only worthwhile occupations seem to be high-end professions like Physicians, Lawyers or so on, well, given how lacking in education Carina is at her age, she'd need an *extremely* intensive education regimen and full-time parental love and care to pull that off - which Reinhold really cannot provide in any practical sense.

No, no, wait, I know, let's take Carina with us! Yeah! That's a great fucking plan!

No? Hmm! Well, I get we could just fucking ditch her on the street. No, wait, that doesn't work. Hmm. Let's dump her on our family, that's not a cunt move to do, right? Oh wait, yes, it is.

I guess we could leave her somewhere safe, with people we know and trust to take good care of her, give her an education and allow her to work while pursuing the possibility of other interests as she gets older..

..but where the fuck could we do that? I mean, obviously not at the castle, surrounded by people equipped to educate her, give her money, clothes, food and take care of her while we're off adventuring with our wife. I mean, that's shit prospects because it involves spending time doing regular work!

And we all know that regular work is for fucking plebs with no ambitions at all. It's not like it's a means to make ends meet while working towards another goal in life. Nope. It's just a straight-up, black and white, shit prospects standstill placement in life.

She can spend three years learning to read, write and being educated, and then at ten she can work as a maid, like Melanie did when she first began, and in her free time she can pursue her other interests.

And just as Karel's finishing up her explanation, Ariane and Guillaume arrive in the dining room, bringing with them an obscene amount of pancakes.

"Whoa!" Carina gasps. "All of that's our breakfast!?"
"Well it's all going to be divided amongst everyone here at the table," Ariane laughs. "And since Nico and Gregory aren't here, there should be more than enough for all of us!"

Outside interference and samefagging.

Sylvie won every in-thread poll up to and past the routelock. Lucifriends were dwarfed by the Marie + Sylvie crowd.

When I say in-thread poll, I mean polls that were done by the active players who played every night and not the polls that were up long enough for people to sabotage them. Which happened more often than not to the polls when things happened like Melanie winning, or Karel, or Tina.

Also, final destination votes are really easy to samefag. We don't do it out of respect and the hope that no one else does it.
>>
>>37346737
/tg/, as a whole, will rush into any situation fully committed without thinking. They can't play a character consistently, and when they disagree about something they refuse to consider the other side: it's immediately badwrongsatan and must be eliminated.

Of course people are still arguing over the waifu wars and routelock. Of course people are arguing over Carina. That's just what /tg/ DOES.

Basically every possible Luci flag was hit while a bunch were missed for the other girls.
>>
>>37346778
Your analogy is shit and you should feel bad for using it. This is more comparable to being a live in janitor for a Goldman sachs executive. You get to a room in their mansion, you eat their food, and they educate you on top of that and you get fucking payed all you have to do is keep the place you live in clean. That really isn't a shit deal man.

>Thinks from a modern day perspective in a medieval setting
Your kind is the bane of all games.
>>
>>37346797
There's always samefagging on both sides. But Luciana was normally close to 3rd or 4th place, so it's easy to imagine some other anons giving up on their waifu (at least in the quest, not the VN) and switching votes being enough.
>>
>>37346778
That's because Goldman sachs exists in a vastly different cultural context to renaissance-era royalty.

Being a maid to the King or a Princess provided enormous prestige and respect; equivalent to a modern High-level Government official these days.

Getting educated and employed at the castle is like winning a full Oxford Scholarship and apprenticeship in a big law firm, adjusting for cultural context.
>>
>>37346836
No, no, no, you're doing it all wrong. You're approaching this from a vantage of reasonable, sensible and rational human thought.

Try approaching the subject from the perspective of an entitled, ignorant shit who thinks that the world should bend itself to your benefit. Then try talking to them.
>>

QTG raid, they admitted it later on.

That's why the Lucifriends almost immediately disappeared after she won. So did the sylviefriends for that matter.

The part that really pisses me off is arch saying that Luci will be the canon route in the vn because of a few same fags.

You can't equate modern thinking like this with a noblebright fantasy setting.
>>
>>37346865
B...but I'm not a Millennial anon I don't know how to think that way.
>>
>>37346874
Would you shut up if Arch clarified that being a maid at the royal palace involved everything that >>37346854 just explained?

Because that would be great.
>>
>>37346852
>But Luciana was normally close to 3rd or 4th place, so it's easy to imagine some other anons giving up on their waifu (at least in the quest, not the VN) and switching votes being enough.

I wanted to think this at one time, but too many things were happened to make me think that it was a single person or group who did it.
Besides, I don't think anyone was siding with the lucifriends when it happened. Mostly because Luci was so many degrees apart from their own waifu that they would never spend any time with them if they picked Luci.
I mean, who is close to Luci that would have been prime waifu material anyway? Karel? That's about it.
>>
>>37346889
You also can't equate actual medieval thinking either.
>>
>>37346836
It's a terrible deal for anyone who has any sort of aspirations or goals. It's not an oxford education. They're going to teach her numbers and letters and how to shovel shit.

>>
>>37346886
arch has repeatedly said that none of the routes were the true route or cannon and if one was it would be Nico since she is his favorite.
>>
>>37346874
That seems to be the entire point of Arch making the setting a bit of an anachronism stew - to avoid the inconvenient bits in the first place.

That said, there's plenty of evidence to support that the positional prestige of the Royal staff hasn't been altered; given how people in-universe made a huge deal about Melanie being in line for Head Maid, and that even getting married to part of the Royal family was kind of an acceptable reason not to go for that.
>>

You're right, if anything, it's probably like the renaissance-era deal of higher education, prestige and all the otehr perks, cranked up to five thousand, precisely because it is noblebright.

So it's better than modern day by far, and even better than the awesome deal of the medieval one too.
>>

Right. So what we have to work with is this setting alone. Where it's perfectly reasonable that a orphan girl can be adopted into a castle, educated, trained as a maid, learn swordplay and magic and moving on to pursue her dreams.
>>
>>37346914
Except that it's literally not. Seriously, how can you be this insistent on being wrong?

Someone should make a fast strawpoll with multiple choices and all the waifus. I mean all of them. It better have Tina. We've had over 60 people in this thread which is a fair number to draw votes from. Might also shut some people up.
>>
>>37346748
I'm going to be honest, even if you're serious, I'm past the point of caring.

If we had picked anyone else, we would have probably decided they were worst waifu in a couple months anyway.

I mean look at us now, We're having a FULL THREAD ARGUMENT based on what's going to happen to an orphan in which we don't have enough information to make an informed decision about anyway before we talk with Grandma.

"Pancakes!" Rana shouts as she comes running into the room. "I'm not too late, am I?"
"No," Ariane laughs, "you showed up just in time."
"Great!" she says, breathing a sigh of relief. "I'd hate to miss out on your cooking because of an upset-"

Rana stares directly at Inaba.

"...who's that?" Rana asks.
"Elena's rabbit ascended, apparently," Luciana sighs.
"Oh," she nods. "Cool."

And with that, Rana takes her seat at the table while you all wait for breakfast to finish being served.

>>
>>37347239
I wouldn't equate throwing our lives away for a girl that we decided to help out as being responsible.

Responsibility comes in many forms. Finding her a good place to be, where she'll be taken care of, rather than fumble about cluelessly and try to raise her ourselves is the more responsible thing to do.

>>37347247
Ya know, I keep hearing that argument, but it honestly sounds like a manta people have begun to tell themselves just to quell the saltiness of the Luci routelock. Given the shitstorm that followed, the mass departure of the majority of the playerbase, and essentially a bunch of players who either didn't care, or did in fact support Luci, or just lingered on for the sake of it were left to deal with the smoldering wreck.

In the face of the repetition of the stolen routelock, I can see how it would become a mantra uttered in order to stave off bitterness. 'Oh, well, I went with it anyway because I was sick of the waifu wars' is the optimal excuse for everyone to not feel like shit over how things turned out.

It's kind of like self-conditioning or buyer's remorse. You delude yourself into thinking you're okay with it, because the alternative sucks.
>>
>>37347247
>It wasn't about outnumbering. It was about people fucking sick of the waifu wars and seeing a chance to end it.

I am so fucking sick of this completely false argument.

We had at least three chances up until then to end the waifu wars and no one took it.

We were one vote away from kissing Sylvie, but no one took that.
We could have confessed to Nico in her apartment suite and ended it there, we didn't take that.
We had another chance with Sylvie before the duel began, and we didn't take that either.

So, this idea that we suddenly wanted off the ride at the exact moment that it was Luci's vote time is something I'll never accept because it makes no sense.

It doesn't matter anymore anyway because the vote is done. We're with Luci. I hope you're happy with your waifu.
>>
>>37347305
Every human we've killed we had no regrets over, we know it's our job and it had to be done. Luci was just defending herself from assassins, I wouldn't call having no qualms about killing someone after you coldblooded.
>>
>>37347307

>>
>>37347358

>>
>>37347371
Not really. It's the difference between 'Hiroshima was an atrocity' and 'Hiroshima was totally justified.' One is fact, the other is an excuse used to sooth.

It's simple fact that the routelock was stolen because never again after that point has there been anywhere near as much support for Luci as in that one, singular moment.

Even now, Luci isn't even top three of the favored girls in the quest. Sometimes she's not even in the top five.

You are an idiot if you think final destination votes mean anything. Sorry bro, they're easily tricked and everyone (except yourself, apparently) knows the way around them.

That said, I don't think Strawpoll votes mean anything either. But Luci taking Marie and Sylvie's place when both of them were the most popular up until then doesn't validate a mysterious silent majority that just decided to not speak up until it was time for the single most crucial vote of the quest.

To think that they would is silly.
>>
>>37347427
Nope, what's done is done. But it's important that, for posterity, it's made abundantly clear WHY we're on this route, and not to sugarcoat shit or pull some kind of 'history is written by the victors' faggotry of making the Luci routelock somehow justified.

There's tons of ways. One of the easiest is to post from a phone and switch it off and on again in between new posts - it gets assigned a new IP that way.

Little by little, the massive stack of pancakes in the middle of the table is depleted (mostly by you and Rana), this signalling an end to this morning's breakfast time. Once everyone's plates have been cleared of all food, Guillaume and his mother get up and take care of the dishes for everyone.

Not wishing to waste any time, Luciana hurries upstairs to her room so that she can get changed, as does Takamaru.

"You're gonna wear that for the rest of the day?" Emilio glances at his bodyguard.
"Hell no I'm not keeping this stupid thing on," Karel snaps back. "I oughtta burn this stupid thing so nobody can force me back into it."

Ignoring the obvious disappointment on Emilio's face, KArel stomps upstairs, presumably to put her own clothes back on.

Don't be daft, American recipes don't use real sugar. They use high-fructose corn syrup.

Which in turn doesn't trigger the same chemical reactions in the body that sugar does, telling you that you've had enough, which means that you'll still be hungry even long after you've had your fill. All thanks to the wonders of high-fructose corn syrup.

It looks like eating all that food as quickly as she did served to get Carina all nice and sleepy, and she dozes off shortly after the carriage starts moving.

"She's knocked right out," Luciana says, smiling to herself as she watches her.
"Eating a ton of food'll do that to you," you reply.

You never actually told Citrine what time you'd be heading over to her place today, so there's a small chance that she'll be eating breakfast when you get there. I know why: She wants to escape her father and go adventuring proper.

Poor Elena is going to have to put up with it for seven more years.
>>
>>37348376

"Heh..." you smile to yourself.
"Is something funny?" Luciana asks.
"Nah," you reply. "I was just thinking about how this'll be the first time we meet up with my grandmother as a proper couple."
"...oh," Luciana says with a faint smile. "I suppose you're right... perhaps I'll have to reintroduce myself? 'I look forward to joining your family' and all that."
"I, uh..." you laugh nervously, "I dunno if you'd need to go -that- far, Luciana."
"But it's true, you know," she says, winking at you.

Marriage... she's been bringing that up more and more frequently lately. And you're not sure if it's because of Carina's presence or something else.

>Marriage... she's been bringing that up more and more frequently lately. And you're not sure if it's because of Carina's presence or something else.
We could just ask her(or someone else) about when would be an appropriate time to ask for her hand in marrige. It's not like anyone is expecting Reinhold to know anything about courting nobles.
>>
>>37348609
I recall her being the most sexually frustrated of the girls, and I don;t doubt that her desire to go adventuring is adding to her increasing impatience about this matter.

After the carriage arrives in the city, you give the driver Citrine's address. While you'd usually wander around for a bit before heading there, you're far too anxious about Agnes's arrival to go around doing that today.

"Alright, here we are..." you say as you look up at the apartment building that serves as your sister's home. "Carina, this is where Citrine lives."
"Huh?" Carina looks around. "She doesn't live in a super big house like you and Nicolette do?"
"Nah," you shake your head. "I don't think she wants to move into a mansion just yet."

Though they can most definitely afford one... the last time you visited, Citrine told you how much Marius's most recent painting sold for and it makes your own salary look like a pittance in comparison.

"How come?" Carina asks.
"Well..." you scratch your head.
"You know how the mansion where we just were was all the way out by itself?" Luciana asks the little girl.
"Uh-huh."
"Well Citrine likes to live where there's lots of people around instead."
"Dunno why," she shrugs. "I don't like the city. Too many mean people."

You walk inside the apartment building and down the main hallway until you reach the stairwell for the second story where Citrine lives. Taking the lead all the way (since -your- sister's the one who lives here), you take point all the way to their front door.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

A few minutes go by.

"Maybe they're not home?" Luciana asks.
"I thought that Marius was in here pretty much all day though," you mumble before knocking a second time.

Just as you're about to give up, you hear the lock of the door click and then it swings open.

"I dunno," Marius says, turning his head inside the apartment, "maybe she forgot one of her b-"

Marius finally lets go of you when you reach a room that's filled with suitcases. It looks like they've just been brought into the room, and half of them are opened and seem to be in the process of having their contents transferred to an ornately-detailed cabinet. And standing by these suitcases are Citrine and one other person...

"Grandma!?" you say, unable to keep from smiling ear-to-ear upon seeing her for the first time in nearly two months.
"Well look who's here!" Agnes says, meeting your smile with one of her own. "Citrine told you all about the mischief that you've gotten yourself into since the last time I've seen you!"

"And neither should you, Citrine," Agnes laughs. "But don't worry, I just needed to grab these papers right here..." she says as she retrieves several pieces of paper from her bag.

After looking them over, she hobbles back over to where the rest of you are standing.

"What's that for?" Citrine asks, pointing at the papers.
"Part of the reason I'm here," Agnes replies. "You see, I had to practically force him to let me leave the country and come here..."
"Because of the situation with the borders?" you ask.

"Just your standard adoption forms for nobility," she replies.

Suddenly, you feel really cold.

"A..." Citrine gasps.
"What, you thought that I was joking about that before?" Agnes asks. "With these, all I have to do is write your names down and you're officially in the Eschenwald family register. And with that, you get a fancy title, Reinhold would get the last name, inheritance rights... not that I intend to croak any time soon, of course," she laughs.

>>37349435
>What would Rein be inline to inherit the estate or do the Eschenwalds hold any other lands or titles?
Instead of reverting back to the kingdom itself, Reinhold and Citrine would end up splitting the estate and all the properties that it entails.
