You catch some sleep, but it's staggered, restless, and dreamless. As exhausted as you are,

You figure there are two possible ways to make this right. There are a handful of legendary Pokemon that are said to have special healing powers. There’s the mythical Mew, who’s said to be a helpful, cute creature with a heart of gold. Some crackpots go on about some some of Mewtwo that’s supposed to be stronger, but even if it existed it seems like it might not want to help humans. There’s a story about Entei and the Unown granting wishes, but Jirachi seems like a better option in that department. Celebi can supposedly travel in time. Latias is reportedly very friendly to people, but you don’t see any traits that show it would be able to help. There are others too.

Good old medical science looks like it might have some answers. Reconstructive surgery, new modern medicines, and other treatments. There’s some stuff about cybernetics, but that’s very new and high tech and you doubt Robin would be too keen on that. Well, maybe if you had a specialist and access to some cutting edge stuff. Huh, it says here that Emma of the Elite Four is actually a renowned doctor.

You let your eyes go large and stare passed Jeanine. "You don't need to worry Jeanine. I'm fine." your voice is somehow soft and almost menacing at the same time. "I'm going to fix everything Jeanine. I'm going to make it all better."

Jeanine backs away slightly. "I'm not sure if you're in a good state of mind to make any big decisions right now."

Know what I love about this quest? Characters are useful, distinct, and follow us but not blindly. Clair is a bitch, but an understandable and fun one. Even each Pokemon has a character.

Several Pokemon begin to circle your group. They’re not attacking, but it’s clear they’re interested in you. You use your Pokedex.

"Spandex Buzz. The Vulgar Boner-Poker-Man. Watching from the sky, they swoop to strike weakened Pokémon on the ground. They decorate themselves with boners." It also says that one of their abilities is Big Peckers.

Clair squints her eyes up at them. “Well that’s not good.”

“Just ignore them,” Vance says as he goes over the map. “We’re not too far now. They’ll lose interest.”

“Easy for you to say. They’ll pick off the small ones first,” Clair jokes. “You and cow-tits will be last.”

Quinn ducks even though they're not nearly that close yet. "I think they're getting braver."

Destiny and Trunks are totally fine. Levi and Raistlin are worn, but can still fight. Dan and Vlad are completely out though.

"Let's just ignore them. They'll stop wasting energy waiting for us to die and go away." You're not in the mood for this. You just want to get to civilization already. When does it end? "Destiny! Come on out and give us another rain dance."

Destiny pulls off the dance again. She only stops after noticing Robin's eye. It's enough to get another little drizzle going though. Everyone loves it even if you can't stay under it for too long. Destiny repeats it a few times as you march but is starting to get tired. You pull her back, but not before everyone thanks her. She loves the attention.

The flying Pokemon eventually lose interest.

"Glad they're gone!" Quinn says.

Vance goes over the map. “We’re close now. Soon we’ll be in Sandorp and we can rest.”

You spot something on the horizon. It looks like people, riding Pokemon. “Hey! Look over there! Do you think it’s those merchants?”

Clair closes her eyes and focuses. “Bandits!” She stumbles and wipes blood from her nose. "I'm fine, but I'm out of gas."

Vance looks concerned. “You’ve been pushing yourself. We all have.” He holds his side. "I'll do my best with my Pokemon, but I can't fight."

You can see three of them riding Doduos and Dodrio. It’s unclear if they’ve spotted you yet.

Robin holds onto your arm, scared. “What are we going to do?” As much as Robin get's afraid, she's always been reliable in these situations when it matters.

Jeanine points to a small dot on the horizon. “Maybe we can get close enough to Sandorp before they close the distance.”

Gotta take advantage of the only advantage we have. Knowing that they're bandits.

Offence is the best defence. Heal Levi and Revive Z.Dan, have them on the lead along with Clair's Alakazam and other menacing Pokemons(Ditto could double as one too). They would have to be awfully stupid to attack us after that raw display of power.

You take a second to glance over your team. The rest did everyone good, but nobody here is in close to top shape. That Regirock knocked out too many of your Pokemon for you to feel confident.

"Let's hurry. We can make it."

The group makes a run for it towards Sandorp. The shifting sands keep breaking under your feet, doubling the amount of work you have to put into each step. The sun beats down, making it even worse.

You hold Robin by her hand and keep pushing. Sweat drips down your shirt as you try to keep a pace that keeps everyone moving without forcing them to drop. Your lungs burn.

You look back. They're heading for you. They're still awhile off but who knows how fast they're really moving in the wavy distance.

Sandorp isn't far now either. They have to have some sort of police or something. Maybe you can send a Pokemon ahead for help.

You toss our Raistlin "Go get help! Anyone you think you can trust!" You gasp for air as he starts rapidly teleporting ahead.

You are your friends are slowing now, but you push on. You don't want to risk anybody getting hurt again.

Squeezing Robin's hands, you feel her starting to stumble. The Team Imperium members are lagging a bit now too. Jeanine's probably in the best condition out of everyone and she's struggling hard now too. You look behind. They're close. Really close.

But someone's approaching from ahead too. Raistlin must have reached help! In fact, there he is with them, teleporting closer in the distance.

It's only one person though, riding a large Pokemon you don't recognize. Why is it one person? Where are the police?

Clair drops in the sand. A team Imperium member slows to a stop.

Damn it! Everyone is done. Jeanine and Vance tend to Clair. Robin takes out a Pokeball and leans on her knees. Quinn takes out his still very weak grass Pokemon.

You can see the bandit's riding Pokemon are also very tired too. At least there's that.

Still, they might get here before the reinforcement from town, whoever that is. You might have to stall for a minute or two. That's not so bad, right?

Vance takes out Cranidos and Sneasel. "Cranidos, get ready to charge. Sneasel, Agility!"

The bandits slow. Ditto is performaning a Dragon Dance alongside Levi now in unison. Robin decides not to wait on her electric attack and has her Joltik use Thunder on nothing in particular. The powerful boom and light agitates Leviathan, who roars ferociously! Rain and spit fly from her mouth. Even your group takes a step back. Robin and Quinn take two.

The bandits stop. It looks like they're debating something. After a moment, they begin heading off.

Your reinforcement arrives with Raistlin. "That was quite a show." It's Emma of the Elite Four! "Is everyone alright? Welcome to my home town."
