You are Risa Schrodinger, and you are currently pondering the theological logistics of picnics. You tilt your head and decide that, while it is technically possible the young man and the daughter of the dragon king are enjoying a picnic in the land of Asmodeus, it is highly unlikely to have happened. Last time you decided to get Sin-Fin decked out in new clothes, and as a result ended up going to meet someone who isn’t much of a man by the light of day, but by night he’s one hell of a lover. He wants some cloth the slag has on her person in exchange for making the Sin-Fin clothes. Asmodeus seems pretty confident they will come back, but it isn’t like they are at Tintern Abbey or something. “No. You stop that right now. You know how I feel about the romantic poets.” You say.

“Pardon, were you speaking to me?” Asmodeus asks.

“No.” You clarify.

“Me?” Sin-Fin wonders but you shake your head.

Actually no, I don’t know how you feel about the romantic poets. This is a whole new sort of crazy that I am otherwise unfamiliar with. “Let me put it this way, soon as I get out of this Japan based prison the first thing I am going to do is toss Wordsworth’s grave. Well, third thing I guess; got to fly there then find the grave then toss it, but you get the idea.” That—okay, we will just go with that then. I am sort of worried about it but, you know what, let’s just go with it. “Eat a cock Wordsworth ya smug dick.”

“The poet?” Asmodeus asks.

“Moment’s gone.” You reply.

Right. You could always try to just let them come back on their own. There is probably no way for them to escape whatever world Azzy has locked them in. or you could do something else, I’m not the boss of you.

She's not a native at all, she's from a completely different circle of hell.

Well, she'd know more about the general layout and hierarchy of hell then we would, not to mention demonology and magic.

As for thoughts of her leading an invasion, I mean, last I checked I didn't think hell was at war with itself like in DND land.

You nod. “Okay, can’t leave kids alone for too long as they tend to get in all sorts of ruckus when the grownups ain’t about.”

“Oh? Like what?” Asmodeus wonders.

“Unprotected handholding! Wild hair ruffling! They may even make their—their.” You feel your face heat up and you hold your cool hands against the hot skin. “They could make their tails touch!”

Asmodeus puts a hand over her mouth as if she were scandalized. “My word, didn’t they learn not to do such things in the schools?”

You wave your hand dismissively. “Nah, they are too afraid of getting sued so they don’t go into that sort of stuff.” You feel like your face is cooling down a little, but speaking of such debauchery has made you feel all bashful. Damn them and their childlike ignorance of the consequences in life!

“So you want to go in and get them?” Asmodeus asks.

“Too right you. Can you give me a pass so I can just scoot on by?” You wonder.

“Why on earth would I have something like that?” She wonders.

“Well, I mean, you run the place right?” You tilt your head.

She shrugs. “Honestly I just made the rules and let them debauch and debase themselves to their liking. I have no more sway over them than you might have over the setting of the sun. I just let them do their own thing unless I need them for something. Then I break them until they listen.”

Helpful. “Well let me borrow your phone for a tick. I have to tell my family I may not be home for supper.” You say.

Asmodeus directs you to her phone and you quickly dial plantbro’s number. “Oi, Matilda. I got to go find some folks who are able to give us magical cloth to make adorable clothes for Sin-Fin. Shouldn’t take too long. Just pop off for a bit, stop the kids from doing perverted things, then go back home in time for quail. Don’t eat the quail without me, if you do I’ll cry.” You hang up.

“So are you ready to go?” Asmodeus asks.

“Should I bring Caede? She has to know something about hell, right?” You ask.

“Well not my layer, no. She might know a little about Beelzebub’s layer, but we are fairly different in terms of realms.” She explains.

Hm, every second you delay is another second they are ruff—ruffling tails. You go red and look up. “Don’t say that out loud! I’m a girl! It's bloody embarrassing!” You object.

Sorry.

“Right. Come along Sin-Fin! I need someone to ride along in my side car.” You imagine Sin-Fin in a helmet with those aviator goggles, and a long cape riding along on your side car as both of you go out to fight crime. It’s adorable.

“Well I do hope you enjoy yourselves. Bring me back a souvenir won’t you?” Asmodeus asks as Sin-Fin stands up and slowly shuffles over to you. Why would she want something from her own world?

Anyway you stand in front of the door and take a deep breath. You nod then throw it open and step out into the dark pit of the underworld! Where light dare not tread! Where even the greatest of knights wouldn’t—okay, I’m done. It’s bright, the streets are illuminated by what seems like an endless row of flashing signs and promises of every sort of pleasure known to man and many more unknown. You see people staggering around in various outfits, or lack of clothing in many cases.

You see one man stumble out of a building with nothing on, and his body covered in fluids you can smell from here. His eyes are glassed over, but before you can shoot him with a laser for not washing up mate, a winged creature swoops down. It tackles him into a back alley and you hear him scream as something horrid begins feeding.

The lights go on for what seems like forever, with the sky being lit not by the moon or sun but by the endless artificial lights. You see a pretty bitching fountain in front of a casino where it seems everyone is winning. They are winning so much and so often that there becomes no meaning in it anymore. All around you the various wants, the need for physical sensation is tearing apart the minds and souls of all those trapped here. You think you can faintly smell Yuuki’s energy wandering around and going into different buildings. You walk down the street with Sin-Fin in tow, and you note that no one even seems to notice her, seems she is coming up blank.
(1/2)
>>
A naked bloke tries to rub against you, but you knee him in the knob, then send out enough energy to turn his head into pulp, and people give you your distance for now. You sniff around, and unfortunately the sulfur and raw [Lust] in the dimension is screwing up your sense of smell. You have narrowed down where he might have gone to a few places.

You decide to check out the building surrounded by torn apart bodies. You grab Sin-Fin’s hand because honestly you very much doubt that she would follow you under her own volition if she had it in her, and then gingerly step over gore piles. “So how are you doing?” You ask.

“Same as al…ways” She replies looking up at you, then looking back down at her feet. “My feet are squishing.”

“Yes, yes I believe your feet are squishing. That will probably go away in time.” You explain. “So you don’t feel anything special here?”

She glances around, and you think that if she could she would be sweating up a storm. “Do you want me to feel som…ething? I will if you tell me… to.” She ellipsed between the m and the e, how did she do that?!

“Nah, it’s fine.” You say and walk into the building.

The building is just as bloody inside. It is shaped like a stadium of some sort with a large pit in the middle with bleachers along the walls. The thick stench of body fluids wafts over you and you almost gag. In the middle of the ring are people in various states of undress doing weird things with their hips. You tilt your head confused as one of them bites the fingers off of a woman trying to eat another guy but not biting? You do not understand. A woman, a demon actually, with dark violet skin and large bat wings stands over them screaming. You sonido over and tap her on the shoulder getting her attention.

She is wearing patches of human skin, all of them held to her own violet skin by needles or nails of some sort. You are uncertain where the boundary between needle and finishing nail really ends and begins, but they seem thick and twisted. “Oi, mate!” You shout over the din of debauchery under you.

Her sharp clawed hand comes at you and your chest breaks into a large mouth. You bite down on her arm by the wrist and hold her. “You see some human bloke come by here with this dragon bint?”

Sir or Madam, whilst I appreciate you coming to my defense, I must insist that I am wholly capable of my own defense. Though to your own point, or lack there of, I ask you to stand down. Were either of you to engage in your proposed verbal joust, I fear injury would be upon you from your shared incompetence.

More impressive, though, is that you would render such harm upon yourselves unarmed in a battle of wit.

Too much?
>>
“Hurt us more! Become one!” She shouts.

You send out your angelic energy and she hisses in pain. “He left! They left us in fear! They sought the land of peace! The gateway through hell! Release me!” She says.

You tilt your head then do so. “Where is that at?” You wonder.

“Into the womb of succubi.” She says blowing on her arm.

You nod then look at her strangely. You nod a few more times then snap your fingers. “Like your piercings by the way mate, how much that run you?”

No piercings or you can’t donate plasma. “Damn my need to save a lives.” You conclude.

“That—thank you?” She asks.

You do the snapping wink thing then leave the hall, certain you have Yuuki’s trail now. “Womb is a… strange word.” Sin-Fin explains, perhaps making conversation.

“So is lascivious.” You continue.

“Also bana..na.” She continues.

You finally feel relieved to have a topic of conversation and keep it up until you get to the womb place. It is disgusting, of course. Like a great pulsing hive mixed with oozing zits. You see a pool of sticky fluid at the base of the tower. The pool bubbles and something like a bloated insect with a rigged pulsing stinger crawls out of it. Weak bat wings twitch, and finally it gains flight and starts to fly off. You see several rows of breasts along its stomach, and you smell the faint hint of sulfur and azzy go juice. That is a baby succubus. Succubutt. Ha, we’re funny.

Yuuki’s energy seems to go inside. You smell them pretty close actually, and they seem to be fighting. What do you do?

>>
>>37427900
Let's bring a baby Succubutt for Caede. She's always hungry and could use the stress relief. We'll bring a sex ready tortured soul for Ryoko. And we'll see if we can't find a proper Nazi commander among the dead here to bring to Jägerbombs so she can put a few soul bullets in him for revenge.

That us assuming the Thule society didn't find a way to escape hell...then any goose steppers we find would just be rabble.
>>
>>37428002

If you read back through the previous threads, Azure makes mention of the dragon princess being bound down on hands and knees and forced to act like a coffee table while she sobbed helplessly. Azzy flipped a switch when we left, making her scream in a mixture of ecstasy and pain.

I mean, as a player I can dig it, but I can also dig that the guy whose all about JUSTICE wouldn't be cool with that.
>>
>>37428073
Too true. Yuki is a soft hearted heroic sort of boy. Kinda wish he and Ryouichi had the chance to meet. If only for sonny boy to have an Aneurism after dealing with Yuki.
>>
>>37428145
pretty sure Ryouichi would try to fuck him or be fucked by him...
>>
>>37428021

Giving Caede a screaming demon baby might not be the best present, but I don't know kids these days.

As for Ryoko, I'd rather get her a gift that's hilarious, like the perfect vibrator that runs on its owner's innocence. It'd be insanely addictive, but run its course after a while as the person ran out of innocence to burn. Her using it would also have a chance at making Granny notice us, so she finally has an excuse to appear in the story.
>>
>>37428244
Well, not to raise. I imagine the little gluttony fly girl would chow down on its succulent list filled demons meats.

Or would the equivalent of Succubutt veal not appeal to her pallet. Do we need to find her an Ara Ara Succubutt. One who would worry Caede might find her too tough to eat, but still be blushing proud she could still even be considered a meal?
>>
>>37428073
Still not... really sure how that falls under Asmodeus's already stretched desire to respect free will.

Is it because Dragon Princess isn't a human?
>>
>>37428210
Yeah I always forget she turned into a cheap whore while Risa was a rock.
>>
>>37428447
She's breaking it manually instead of just going in and shutting it off. She is giving the princess the chance to intellectually and emotionally resist.

Or, I dunno. I cannot into angel brains
>>
>>37428440

I think Caede would probably keep a baby succubutt as a pet rather than eat it. She's far sighted enough to see the, shall we say, possibilities.

>>37428447

Pretty much hits the nail on the head as I see it. Azzy can't really cut loose on people, and there are few enough supernatural beings attractive enough to catch her interest and durable enough to entertain her before they break. Princess just had the bad luck of getting caught (and before we find out she's a masochist and has been loving every minute of it).

You decide to check out what’s going on down there. You safely wrap Sin-Fin in a tail then dash into the engorged building. You cover yourself with energy and turn into something like a top of death as you go through the masses of demons. Your hands flash out and you pick pockets as you ago, well pick ultra thin thongs made of human flesh, and go through the levels easily. You hit the ground and see Yuuki glowing with energy. “Huh, I don’t like fighting women, but you leave me no choice! My new super attack! Ultimate rainbow dragon spiral!” He shouts and his fist fires out something like a drill of go juice flashing every color of the rainbow.

The demons get torn through as the dragon princess trembles behind him. You tilt your head and decide that is a silly name for an attack, so you shake your head sadly. You run over to Yuuki as he gives the dragon princess a thumbs up. You slam a fist into the back of his head then pick him up. Ryuu-hime looks at you with wide eyes, and you can tell that she remembers you. “N—no! I will not return to her!” She says.

“Mind your gob slag.” You command and fill her with electricity before putting her on your shoulder. You sonido out of the building and follow your faint energy trail back to the building you came out of and sigh. That was easy. Yuuki suddenly struggles and you throw him down. “What are you on about then?”

“You can’t take us back there! She is a monster!” He objects.

“Well, more like just not human.” You say.

Looking a little muddy here, as to whether to pack Yuki off to the shrine or send him to Asgard. Want to throw up a secure vote to narrow it down?
>>
I looks like people want to take them both to Asgard in exchange for the cloth, and try to convince azzy to give up her table.
>>
>>37428989
First we've gotta see if Yuki is willing to stand up to Asmodeus enough (and apologize) to try and get him and his princess to leave.

Also, he has his own house you know.
>>
Here's the thing. If Azzy says no, do we argue with her? I don't think I can bring myself to do that.
>>
>>37429040

Works for me, Yuki's just gotta stand up to Azzy first and make amends.
>>
>>37429040
Well... I don't know, we've really got a good thing with Asmodeus and I don't wanna strain that.

I don't really like her mad at us, and not just because when she's mad she'll murder us horribly.
>>
>>37429040
we'll go table shopping! make a day of it!

maybe something Mahogany ?
>>
>>37429068
The only thing that I think might work is if Yuki asks the Dragon Princess to marry him.

I don't know, I feel like we should get the cloth and then ask Yuki if he's okay staying here or if he wants to apologize to Asmodeus and try and get somewhere better.

Check Sin-Fin for any input.
>>
>>37429128
>marrying a table

that's just silly
>>
>>37429040
>>37429128

I'll second encouraging Sin Fin to speak up. As a person whose dealt with the pain of maternal struggles and someone who understands tragedy, I think she could offer good insight into how Yuki could appease Azzy.
>>
>>37429157
And yet, I'm not sure what else would work.

It's like, I kind of would like to see Yuki more often, not just because it might upset Jager to learn that he's trapped to inevitably succumb to a sexy yet horrible death, but I like Asmodeus so much more.
>>
>>37429196

I'm honestly not sure whether Azzy cares too much about Hime escaping. The thing that seemed to bother her much more was that Yuki took her without asking. I think if he apologizes, she'll be content to see the two elope into happiness. After all, she can probably dig NTR.
>>
>>37429427

The fact that it's effectively NTR where your estranged, adoptive son runs off with your table to get married in violent space Canada just adds a deliciously overcomplicated plot to the whole thing.
>>
We should offer them residence in our little realm if Azzy stopped caring. Just to see what happens if people stay there over an extended period of time.

“Gimme your magic cloth thing and we will try and get you into protective custody with some Asgard. To make it work Yuuki has to first say he is sorry to Asmodeus fer callin’ her a monster. Hurt her feelings right proper you did.” You say.

“Well she is a monster.” He objects.

“She’s a lady! Mind you a bit sour after a few centuries being a bad guy, but she’s a nice sort,” no, she is nice to you, there is a difference. “Say you’re sorry and she won’t be cross.”

“My cloth? That—That is all you desire?” Dragon bint asks. “Then I will be free from her? She won’t bind me any further?” She asks to which you roll your hand get on with it. “Here! Take it, it is no good to me now!”

She hand you a cloth as soft as clouds, as gentle as sea foam, and nearly lighter than air. It coils around your fingers and you are concerned it will slip through your fingers like water. You stuff it in Inventory and—Hey inventory, been a while. What you been up to?

~S’tuff

Good talk! “Well come on then, let’s go talk to azzy.” You say and enter the club.

Heavy bass slams against your skin and you try to avoid passing out from the perverse smells that waft in. You look back at your tail and ask “Hey, any tips for dealing with her Sin-Fin?”

You feel something ruffle in your tails then see the dour face of Sin-Fin through your soft fluffy sexness. “She is hard to… deal with. Of all the fallen she is able to best pretend to be… human but she is… not. It makes it all the more terri…fying when she finally behaves as she want…s.”

“Oh yeah? So she is that good at faking it huh?” You wonder.

She glances around. “Solomon was in love with… her. She gave him a kingdom then tore it and him ap…art.” She snuggles into your tails. “When a human acts as an an…gel they might be considered insane. Then if an angel acts like a person then does that make them cra…zy?” She asks, and you have to admit it is a good question. Why didn’t she teach philosophy at the school?

“They didn’t have that course at the high school level.” You reply. Well they should have!

You enter Asmodeus’ room with the kids in tow and see her smiling gently as she reclines on the sofa. “Well now welcome back! It doesn’t look like you had any trouble.”

“Well, got something to say?” You ask.

Yuuki frowns. “I’m sorry for calling you a monster.”

“Well, it’s fine isn’t it?” Asmodeus asks.

“Anyway, I was thinking of taking these lot out of here, that okay?” You wonder.

“Eh? But Ryuuhime is mine.” Asmodeus objects.

“Well, yeah, but I mean she says she doesn’t want to be in here anyway, and Yuuki will just try to break her out of here again right? So it’s no big deal.” You say.

“It’s quite a big deal. She is mine.” She replies.

“She is a person!” Yuuki explains.

“You say that like it should hold some bearing on my decision.” She replies with that same gentle smile.

“I gave you the cloth! Please!” Ryuuhime says shivering as she takes a few steps back. “I can’t go back. Please don’t make me stay here.”

“Don’t worry, it will be okay.” Yuukui says and glares at Asmodeus. “This isn’t right!”

Well. Well shit. Azzy doesn’t seem to be relenting

Well, I mean, we kind of get the possessive thing. It's a thing we had too. But if you like your things, you have to respect their uh

Their uh

That thing they do. With the feelings and the wants and the needs. That needs respecting. Why not just let them run off and see what happens? You didn't even care that much when she was gone, and there's better tables to be gotten. We could probably ask Jager to invent a better table.
>>
>>37429816
"He seems to want to make her his, and of course since you do own her, and took him in, he's willing to give you a betrothal gift in return. I'll chip in?

I'm kinda curious what would happen if we took his magic shounen belt and put it on SinFin.

Would it make her fail constantly? Do nothing? Make everyone else around her fuck up horribly? Her shades would actually succeed in killing her? Shift to work through the power of SAD and become more pumped than ever?
>>
>>37430089
1. Might upset Jager
2. He might have insightful Shonen knowldge to drop on us. Either to find our humanity.. or to.. save Akria? maybe some one said that. Either way it might be worth checking.
3. He would probably be a useful scrub.
>>
>>37430089
But then Jager will be sad because it was her idea to stash Yuuki with Asmodeus in the first place.

And she won't even be mad at us, it'd just make her hate herself more. And that's unacceptable.

We should have left them in lustworld, even if it means we'd never see them in the quest again.

“Look Azzy, mate, you’re acting weird.” You say.

She tilts her head. “Hm? I disagree. I think I am acting perfectly normal. Rather, you are the one acting strange. Why are you telling me to give up something that is mine? Why are you acting like I am the one in the wrong here?”

“Look they clearly want each other. May even get married! Listen, just have the promise to visit every once and a while and it will all be okay!” You say and you see her furrow her eyebrows.

Maybe you managed to get through to her! Something something humanity something! She sighs and you think she looks a little lonely. “You really don’t understand me at all.” Her tone is rather sad you think.

Suddenly her eyes flash and you see a hard edge to them that wasn’t there before. “No. I will not let Ryuuhime go. She is mine, by all rights.”

“Well Yuuki won’t make it easy for you, will he? He will keep on coming back trying to get her back and that will be a headache all on its own won’t it?” You wonder.

“Yeah! I’ll never stop until she is free!” He shouts, and you believe him because of his Shonen grit.

You see her smile fondly, then her mouth goes wide and the room flashes red. You blink and Yuuki is slammed into the wall, the six red wings behind her flashing and crackling with electricity. “Isn’t that fine?” She wonders.

Yuuki throws a strike more powerful than you have ever seen him throw, but Azzy shimmers, the blast goes through her, then she slams him into the ground. “Listen close young man. I am going to hurt her now. Because you took her out and tried to break free I am going to make her suffer agonies unimaginable. I am going to bring her so close to breaking that she will beg me for death. I may even kill her albeit momentarily. Then I am going to fix her, I am going to make sure she gets everything she needs, then I am going to be even crueler to her. The reason I am going to do this is because you are weak. You are too weak to stop me.”

“N—No!” Ryuuhime turns and runs and suddenly the ground swells and catches her.

The strange warped building begins to tear into her and abuse her in ways you never thought of. Asmodeus lifts Yuuki’s head and makes him watch with a twisted, villainous smile. He struggles, but just as Azzy said, he is too weak to beat her. After making him watch for a little while she pulls him close. “Do you hate me? Do you want to kill me? Do you hate your own powerlessness?” She asks.

“I’ll kill you.” Yuuki promises. “Even if I have to crawl out of hell, I swear I will become stronger and destroy you.”

“Isn’t that fine?” Asmodeus asks with a laugh. “Go ahead, try and do it. For every moment you long for strength, every instant you beg anyone to give you power, every time your hate for me, your pain towards this sight prods you forward know that it is a beautiful song of [Lust] being sung in tribute to me.” She replies.

“I hate you” He says.

>>37430936
I really don't want to make an enemy of her. But I'm pretty sure we already fucking did so I don't even know if doing nothing is enough to mend bridges. >>
>>37430944

Part of the reason why I don't participate as much is because there's a shitload of happenings happening and no pausing in between. Plus situations where we can come out significantly worse than we came in.

I'm just exhausted from all of this, and it seems that we can't think of proper things to do before everything gets fucked up. Honestly, it feels like I'm taking a test more than playing a collective game.

You decide to just stand back and let her do her thing. A red portal forms around Yuuki and you see a wild forest behind him. “Become strong Yuuki.” She smiles sweetly. “Work hard, and sing your praises to me.”

She lets him go and he falls through the rip in reality to the wilderness of wherever it is. He sends out some energy and tries to jump through the portal before it closes, but with a snap of her fingers the portal vanishes and he is locked away wherever he is. You see her grab her cane and walk over to the bound dragon princess. “I—I did what you asked, right? I made him fall for me, so you promised to let me go.”

“I said I would think about it.” Asmodeus replies then makes a pose that clearly indicates she is thinking. She leans back, then forward making humming noises, then smiles showing the whites of her teeth. “I thought about it. The answer is no.”

“Bitch!” Ryuuhime shouts.

Asmodeus pressed her cane against Ryuuhime and you see a flash of red. The dragon girl screams, then her body flexes and her eyes roll into the back of her head. Asmodeus holds her cane against her for a little while, then pushes the girl through the floor into what looks like a gaping orifice of some sort. The girl goes down and out of sight and Asmodeus turns and walks back to her chair, leaning on her cane for support. “Well now, did you have something else you needed?” She asks in a flat even tone.

Not towards the end, since she doesn't give a crap about that, but the first part kind of.

Like we ARE unhealthily possessive, and we DID assume that she didn't care what happened to Yuki and the Dragon princess in the first place. And the hypocrisy and not asking permission first are things we should apologize for.

So I feel like we have grounds to make up for on that. The latter part was just me forgetting she's not pretending to be human anymore.
>>
>>37431127
Might help some.

Look dude, for serious, there were a few write ins along the lines of protect the smiles, and people seemed good with them then when shit goes bad because Asmodeus, the Fallen of Lust, she who burned a kingdom blessed by god to get her rocks off, one who fought against the light of God with the big G, doesn't really care about their smiles all that much. I see a majority sort of swing, then I go for the majority swing.

That's my job bro so it helps if other people chime in during the voting to say "Hey, guys, she is a monster like us. She doesn't care about those smiles." rather than hearing people unhappy after.

>>37431215

>"Hey, guys, she is a monster like us. She doesn't care about those smiles."
Does Risa actually care about smiles? I'm swinging towards no, but she went and wanted to do it. But it was obviously half-assed smile protecting since she was just "oh well I guess they suffer now I wonder if I can get a coat soon", so what is the mental thingie going on? Risa just kinda heard some voices going "do this Jager might like it" so she did it but then it became obvious to her that she doesn't actually give a shit and this is getting kinda heavy, so bail?
>>

I'm going to let you in on a QM secret: despite the fact that players are necessary to the process, there are times when you/we can be frustrating little shits. And QMs can't let that bring the thread to a halt, so they power through it.

It's also impossible to talk things out in a quest with 20 or so people who don't agree with each other.

“So was I just a two bit actress? You planned all this out?” You wonder.

She crosses her legs and pulls out a magazine. You notice she doesn’t put her cane away. “Not at all. For one I had thought they would be in there for much longer. That they would bond, then go deeper into the realm where they would eventually consummate their love. After that he would have an extraordinary amount of lust to get stronger and save her. You showed up and said you needed something so I thought to put my plan on hold, or at least change it up. You came back with them both, and I had thought you would at least take my side here.” She shakes her head. “No, it doesn’t matter. Life is full of instances like this.”

“We alright?” You ask.

She gives a smile, but it feel cold and business like. “Of course. I am everyone’s friend in my own way.”

“Doesn’t seem that genuine an answer.” You say.

“Well, believe what you wish. I shall not stop you.” She replies looking through the magazine.

You shift your feet back and forth then glance over at the vague static of Belphy. He seems to be offering no help, is it a he? Lazy sod just wants to have a bottle of gin while watching his shows or something. You look back at Asmodeus and tilt your head. “Sorry for hurting your feelings?” You guess. “I don’t really get people, so I may have led you on a bit.”

She continues reading. “It’s fine Risa. I am not people after all, and I am used to not being understood. Each of us fell, and in our fall were scarred. Our scars make us unique, though totally different than the others. It was a mistake on my part, what they say about assumptions and all that.”

Is this just her not trying to act human, but acting more herself, and that's why she seems off to us?

Or is there something going on, like Lucifer's Grace parasite doing things to her, like it was latched on to us.
>>
You are also forgetting that Ryuuhime was something both Risa and her caught on their first proper mission together, then Risa essentially tried taking it back.

Like taking back an engagement ring for some kid Risa just met. Not the exact same connotations, but perhaps a similar "emotional" response. She also thought the two of them got along but, again, she chose someone else over her and it sort of bites. She made her leg hurt for Risa, but Risa essentially just tried to take away the only instance of "Giving back" that has happened, despite all the gifts she has given.

That was solidified when the reason is heard. "Protect random kid's smile! Azzy being fed and amused by something we got together doesn't matter! Smiles! Protect! Friendship!"

>>37431796
That isn't passive aggressive.
>>

>>37431827
That wasn't our fucking intentions at all. Her prior attitude in the last thread made it seem like she didn't fucking care about the dragon princess or Yuki at all, and even later we didn't care about Yuki himself, we just didn't want to make Jager hate herself more. That was more or less what everyone agreed upon, and this is why you need to fucking tell us what you think people are saying before you ruin one of the only bonds that hadn't already been soiled.

Fuck you for making interacting with the supporting characters you write so well, such a fucking chore.

Azure, I don't really know what to tell you here. Thing is, I wouldn't really care about breaking the world. Sure, graphic combat scenes can be enjoyable every now and again, but the heart of the quest for me has always been the awkward, quirky interactions that Risa has with people. It's just that lately everything has taken on this terrible tone of fragility.

Everything has apparently been made to break and no amount of prolonged effort on our parts can save a fond friendship from ruin at a moment's inattention. In fact, our attention itself is a poison, like our every action on the plot. Everything is just so fucking dark and bitter that I'm not sure where we are supposed to get our kicks in.
>>
>>37431980

>>
>>37431875
Well she has been generally friendly, so her being like that is vastly "off' compared to the usual.
>>37431878
Which cost nothing but time and a little effort. The dragon chick was Risa giving up SPXP, actually giving up feeding and becoming more powerful, for her. Azzy can understand that.
>>37431885

>>37431913

>>
>>37431994

I don't care about narrative consistency or how your characters are mandated to act by how you've written them. At least, I really don't care for any of those things when compared with actually enjoying the game, and I don't see anything good coming of this.
>>
>>37431758
>[] No, Sin-Fin needs something with pants! Maybe something like a trendy uniform?

There is nothing that we can do to mend bridges with Asmodeus right now. Maybe if an opportunity to gift her something, something tangible like SPXP or material, rather than just some words and time, comes up, then we can try to mend some bridges.
>>
>>37431994
It doesn't need to be combat. The entire SS arc was fun as hell and we didn't really need to do all that much fighting or at least the killing random dudes wasn't the focus. It was more sneaking around and scheming to wreck something and that was awesome.

She could have fucking let us in on her plans, but you just had to boobytrap us, not even all of us, just the ones who don't pay attention, and there are always people who don't pay attention, especially in such a fucking slow late notice thread.
>>
>>37432114

That won't fix it. That's "Time" not SPXP. So it won't mend any bridges apparently.
>>
>>37432114
You honestly think that will make her not hate Risa?

It would be an absolutely retarded, pathetic, miserable to read shitfest.
>>
>>37432114
I did not start this subplot. This was supposed to be an in and out.

Yelling at me will not change that. So everyone please stop.
>>
>>37432112

It's more because that kid dying or being damned would certainly affect Jager in a very negative way. We don't want that to happen. We've been very actively trying to not to get that to happen.
>>
And once again shit gets fucked up by people insisting that Risa be a nice monster instead of just doing how she do.

Thanks, guys. Protect those smiles.
>>
>>37432129
"Hi Azzy I'm going to take this cloth from the Kid.. also they shouldn't be in there they could be tailing!"

"Actually Azzy, I'm taking the kids, I know they're trapped in your world.. but Mine. Bye!"
>>
>>37432112
No one fucking wanted him to be happy. We didn't want Jager sadder. And you know what, if you really feel that strongly about the subject then fucking say so before leading us into situations like this.
>>
>>37432112
Wait, didn't we only loan Yuuki to Asmodeus?
Like, we asked her to hold on to him for us, so he was hidden from Mendel?
I don't remember giving him to her, so wouldn't her sending him to some sub-world where she can feed off of his Lust be stealing something from Risa?
>>
>>37432164

But Azzy is stronger than Risa. Therefore, she can do whatever she wants.
>>
>>37432139

As usual, it's entirely the player's fault, absolutely and completely. There is nothing you could have possibly done to minimize the impact of a single mistake, and now we will suffer an intolerably less enjoyable story for it, because that's what we deserve.
>>
>>37432164
It's the princess she's upset about. She's also tossed Yuuki off to god knows where so that keeping track of him things is apparently moot.
>>
>>37432139

> Can we? Can we take a stab at killing Azzy?

I'm seriously up for it. I think that's what we need, a violent outburst now that everything is ruined. Risa rage!
>>
>>37432139
No. Because this is bullshit. I paid attention, but I need to fucking make sure everyone else does?

And even though you're laying it out for us why Asmodeus's response makes perfect sense and it's all our fault, you're not gonna even hint how to make amends, probably because we can't.
>>
>>37432202
No.
>>
>>37432202
She'll kill us, but honestly a fight is an inevitability now so... fuck it.
And I wanted to avoid arguing with anyone because AE has a nice cushy backup quest but so much for that. Time for this quest to go the way of .hack//AIDA.
>>
>>37432198
Yes, she's upset we wanted to take the Princess back. But then taking away Yuuki and making him hers when we asked her to look after him for a bit in retaliation seems a bit much.
>>
>>37432204
Bring her something of value. SPXP most likely and don't try to take it. So want to keep Azzy as a friend? Probably a God or some shit.
>>
Is the vote really shifting to be mad at Asmodeus rather than put Sin-Fin in adorable outfits?
>>37432159
If I really feel that strongly about the subject? Why on earth would anything Azzy did lead you to believe she would be okay with giving things up? She feeds on lust as food. If she doesn't have it she will die. Like when Risa was a hollow and trouncing around the desert and needed to feed all the time.
>>37432164
She feeds off of everyone so long as they live. She feeds off all humans. He wasn't in danger of dieing, so it is probably fine.
>>37432185
I have to go along with the votes. The votes said protect smiles. Azzy didn't like that answer.
>>37432204
It would impact the vote it I gave an instruction manual for how to fix everything forever. That would be railroading. All I can do is explain their mental reasoning after the vote and hope people take this into consideration when dealing with them in the future.
>>
>>37432198

no, do not listen those passive aggressive spergs.

Azzy and Risa fence mending will just have to occur a little later.

just awkwardly leave Azzy's
get Sin Fin new clothes
and then be sad over strained relationship
>>
>>37432267

I honestly think it would be fun and healthy to let the player hate actually come out in a violent, in-game rejection of another thing going wrong. It would be interesting, and win or lose it would have some major impact on the story (in a good sense if Azure will let it)
>>
>>37432254
>Is the vote really shifting to be mad at Asmodeus rather than put Sin-Fin in adorable outfits?
My vote is still for adorable outfits.

I was asking about Yuuki because I didn't know how he was viewed: is he one of Azzy's things now, or is he still one of Risa's things that Azzy is supposed to be holding on to for safekeeping.

That's the part that seems unclear to me.
>>
>>37432240

But don't you like the suffering here? The ride never ends and all that.
>>
Sorry 'bout this, AE, but after some 120-ish threads I'm not sure I can keep reading. Not even to see what ends up happening with Jager, who's long been the only character I actually liked. Because things have been going sideways for so long I'm not convinced your players CAN fix it anymore.

Hope shit works out for you, man.
>>
>>37432295

Yuki is ours. She just took away one of our things that we let her borrow, but we're the only one at fault. And of course she'll never realize that Risa was one of her closest friends, never try to make amends on her own part. It will always be all of our fault and we will never really be able to make amends without some dark, foreboding twist.
>>
>>37432295
Oh, no, Asmodeus didn't lock him permanently in a realm of lust or anything. She sent him somewhere in japan. She protected him through the Mendel ordeal which was what she promised to do, then she started making him fall in love with the dragon chick because she wanted to. She imagined he would come out stronger out of it, but he was in no danger really. The Dragon Princess is hers however.
>>
>>37432286
Major impact: you are now dead.

Everything goes to hell not long after. Thanks for playing!
>>
>>37432254
Except dialogue suggestions aren't votes and you shouldn't really treat them as votes, especially when you treat conversations as a minefield.

If you amalgamate everything together you should tell us what you see the result is, because then there will be voting on whether or not to say that thing.

Because right now? Your "hope people take this into consideration" bullshit won't fucking solve anything, because inevitably, some people fucking won't and that's good enough for you, unless, in addition to trying to craft the response that won't trigger our companions, we also shout down anyone who hasn't solved the maze.

Also fuck you again, how does ownership mean something to Asmodeus if Yuuki and the Dragon Princess would still feed her with her emotions regardless of their location? It makes no fucking sense.
>>
>>37432286
No. Fuck you.
>t would be interesting, and win or lose it would have some major impact on the story (in a good sense if Azure will let it)

In a Good Sense? If we shit post rage and just smash shit up things can get better! (Hint Azure lol I wana temper tantrum and would prefer positive results instead of consequences!)

Major development could be our or characters we enjoy fucking dying. Not all good development is good.

I can't tell if you're an idiot or a really bad troll.

Why does this quest always run when I sleep and end when I wake up?

This is an edit. I have the original if you want.
>>
>>37432339
I am growing less confident about that by the day friend.

I hope to see you again somewhere along the way.
>>37432362
Except there were several along the same vein of PROTECT SMILES. One or two not knowing how to talk to people is fine, but when quite a few all go the same way I have to go with it.

I amalgamate things, and try to include what I can, but what the majority decides is what happens. I was even told to take write ins at higher value.

Yes. If people don't say "Hey, this won't work." Or "Don't do this dude" then I can't know what is going on. I'm not psychic.

Yes. All of humanity feeds her. She is the fallen of lust. She is beyond most gods, and is a monster from the dawn of free will. I am pretty sure I have said this before that is the sort of thing she is.
>>
>>37432347
Well, that still doesn't answer the question of whether Azzy thinks of Yuuki as hers now, or if she recognizes that Yuuki is one of Risa's things, like the Dragon Princess is one of her's.
>>
>>37432377
>>37432358

No, I'm someone who can see things a bit differently. The woman who loves you, admires you, and who has been insistently fussing over you for months couldn't take your rejection of her and now she's trying to kill you. God she must really care to go to such frightening extents, knowing she will die but being unable to live without you. Oh, well shit, I can violently eviscerate this incredibly weak individual with my limitless, godlike powers, or maybe I can reconsider the merits of throwing away someone willing to throw away everything because she couldn't take losing what we had together. Wow, I'm an asshole.

>>37432432
Confirmed for idiot.

Risa acts like a petulant child and draws down the ire of other forces on her head. Azzy won't come to assist her because she apparently does't think in terms of effort or time. Only SPXP.
>>
>>37432447

I support this. Seriously, this IS a majorly shitty thing to happen. At least let Risa go through the motions if you're so damn insistent on what characters "should" do.
>>
>>37432429
She sees Yuuki as Yuukis, but she thinks maybe that Risa may be laying claim to him with all she is trying to do for him.
>>
>>37432432
>maybe I can reconsider the merits of throwing away someone willing to throw away everything because she couldn't take losing what we had together
She eviscerated Solomon and his kingdom, who was in love with her.
No, things would not go that way.
>>
>>37432426
I'm asking that because the Dragon Princess feeds her regardless of where she is. Everyone and everything alive already fucking belongs to her.

So her having a strong sense of ownership was never once foreshadowed.

And if there was a strong minority, then you don't have to just go with it. Especially if people earlier in the thread had already made points of what may upset Asmodeus and don't want to fucking repeat themselves.

This isn't completely on us.
>>
>>37432500
>So her having a strong sense of ownership was never once foreshadowed.
Seriously m8? Reread the thread where we acquired Ryuuhime and then reread every thread since then where we interacted with Azzy.
>>
>>37432426
I'd love to see you toddle off at some point and let everyone else argue. Just see how long they can keep themselves going for without any input.
>>
>>37432489
>but she thinks maybe that Risa may be laying claim to him with all she is trying to do for him.
See, that's where I'm confused. I thought Risa and Jager already laid claim to him, and Azzy should have already understood that, what with us taking him, moving him around, and asking Azzy to hold on to him while we got searched by Mendel.
>>
>>37432426
Ehh apparently I need to learn to be specific as hell when I vote. I was

>>37428698

Only wanted to take Yuuki. Was being selfish about the cloth and help with understanding. Didn't realize it'd save the girl as well.

Course the rest of the votes were for saving both of them.. fuck it I'm tired.
>>
>>37432500
Okay, you can object to that if you want. It was not a strong minority. It was the majority saying "Protect smiles" and no one objecting to it.

Okay. I am not arguing about this anymore.
>>
>>37432495

Of course not, because everyone in this game is a centuries old, all knowing, desperately broken super being, so far beyond us in terms of wisdom and power, but incapable of taking even the slightest scorn or inattention with magnanimity.
>>
I hope all this sperging doesn't delay the update
>>
>>37432534
Fine, hope you like this every time we try and talk to someone, because it's not gonna stop happening since we won't devote all our brains to the quest and that means that inevitably slipups will occur.

This is even worse when you picked that rhyme that no one wanted and specifically said they didn't want.
>>
>>37432547
Of course it did. Hell it's going to kill HQR eventually.
>>
>>37432547
It already has and it's making me not want to participate at all. I've already given up on trying to draw anything anymore because reading these makes me sick half the time now and since coming in here about an hour ago I've been greeted by one of the most repulsive threads in terms of player behavior I've seen to date.

I swear, fucking SLIME QUEST was better than the people in here today, and SQ dragged me into a full-blown full-autistic debate about Theseus Ships and morality in a god damn smut quest about a rapist slime monster.
>>
>>37432606
Sorry. I really wish it wasn't like this.
>>
>>37432339

At this point, I don't think we're ever going to succeed at making Jäger not kill herself. Or avoid being old one'd or time devoured. When this quest was kill and devour things from all walks of mythologies and see lots of wondrous things, plus with well-written characters and dialogue, it was fun and simple.

Now it seems like we're playing psycho-analyst minesweeper lawyer accounting, but you have to write in exact answers and have said answers run through a retard filter before it is accepted.

I dunno. It just feels like this quest has morphed into something that makes it a chore to read and keep up on rather than a delight to read. The enjoyable elements are still there, but all of it is buried under or attached to a lot of other newer features that make it not fun. It's like the newest Thief game compared to the original trilogy, or classic Bioware vs. new Bioware.

You use Be Sad in her doorway and block any customers coming into the club! It is super ineffective because no one comes into the club in the physical sense. You sputter and grumble, then feel uncertain what to do with these sorts of feelings. You

She doesn’t respond so you take Sin-Fin out of the club and see the light turn off on the front deck. You tilt your head, then shrug, before going back out into the city. You hop on top of trains, because Risa cats like trains you think, then you climb down into the store with the man who is dressed like a lady. “You do have the thighs for it.” You say.

“Thank you! Pilates keeps me fit!” The Okama Okami says making a pose.

“Here is the cloth thing, make Sin-Fin pretty!” You demand.

You shake your tail over the bar and Sin-Fin falls down and looks around confused. The Okama Okami makes a square with his fingers, then bends over backwards, then makes a triangle. Triangles are your trigger, but you avoid beating him up. He presses his fingers against his face then shouts “ART!” and a cloud of smoke explodes around Sin-Fin.

She is now sitting there in a thin white dress and a big floppy hat. “No! It isn’t fabulous enough! Art!” He screams.

Suddenly the edge is lined with frills and there is an elaborate design on her front. “Yes, yes! This is art!” He shouts.

“My ankles are… exposed.” Sin-Fin notes.

“Of course! Ankles are the heart of beauty!” He shouts. “The outfit can change along with her will! All she has to do is envision what she wants and shout the magic words, then suddenly an angel of beauty will change her into her most divine form!” He explains taking a few strong poses.

Sin-Fin gets to play dress up! But you do not! This gives you mixed feelings. “Now shoo shoo! You are making the girls feel nervous!” He says looking at the men dressed as women.

You leave and look at Sin-Fin looking concerned at her dress. You walk down the street with her and smile. “Eh, it’s nice innit? You get all fluffy and nice.” You say.

You walk past a group of blokes and—hold on, we know that guy. You turn around and see a group of people. They look pretty normal, and you don’t think you can smell anything off about them so you tilt your head. “What’s that then?” You ask.

Yeah. You killed those dudes before, remember? You narrow your gaze and look harder. A chubby guy, a shorter woman with a scar on her face, and a guy with red hair. “Did I kill them when I dressed up like a super hero?” You wonder. “You are going to have to be more specific there friend.”

Those are the one guys. The guys who were all, uh, you know! Guys!

>>
>>37432790
No, but would it have been worse?

Because the way I see it, the way you've fucking described it, is that instead of going on about protecting smiles and taking something of Azzy's for free, Risa instead merely didn't get the sentimental value of her gift and thought that getting a better gift was good enough.

As opposed to a complete misjudgment of personality and values, it was only Risa not realizing how much Asmodeus was touched by our gift, which would be much more salvageable than what we got.

Or are you saying she'd be even madder? Because I'd have serious doubts if that were true.

But you did the exact fucking thing you did with Jager. >>
>>37432883
Yeah I honeslty had no idea the gift was worth anything. However that's probably part of it because Azzy straight up said, "You don't get me." Which is true. I thought Azzy like Risa because of Leg rubs and an odd conveyor system set around her club so she wouldnt have to get up when her leg hurt.

It was apparently just the SPXP.

They blink and, bloody hell I know I know these guys. A husky guy, and a chick with scars and stuff. Oh, and the red haired guy who is probably cannon fodder. Risa fodder. Sinful fodder? “Hold on, did I kill them?” You wonder. “Generally people I kill stop bothering me or become XP, or sometimes become parasites that makes me hunt down Shiba like a werewolf and set yourself upon her! What was I talking about.” You killed those dudes. “Oh yes! Those blokes. I’m pretty sure I killed you lot.”

“You don’t remember?” Cucumber asks. Ah, I get it!

>>37433101
People didn't seem all that keen on calling it a misscount until it was obvious that it was the wrong option.
>>
>>37433082
I don't really feel inclined to calm down, because after spending the whole thread shitting on us for caring about "protecting smiles" it turns out that only three, MAYBE four people actually cared about that, and three people specifically said that they didn't like those options.

That's not good. That's the path of Dran.
>>
>>37433112
Are you... retarded? He just said he was writing, he never specified WHAT he was writing, so of course we wouldn't know it was the wrong option, until he fucking posted us apparently choosing the wrong option.

Now why no one bothered to count earlier, that's a combination of simple laziness, and, and this is the most damning, trust in the QM.
>>
>>37433112
I trusted AE's counting and went along with it, but it turned out that my trust was misplaced and that his counting was wrong.
>>
Omake's in two threads pretty much. Can we chose how to fuck with everyone? We have such a wide array of abilities that we hardly use anymore (and in the case of Best Medicine, have never used. Great for blindsiding anyone who tries to use zerg rush tactics on us though).
>>
>>37433020
thanks for running.

you should put your foot down more often.

123 threads in and I think its safe to say Risa has developed a personality and certain way of doing things, I think vetoing write ins because they aren't in character should be a thing.

regardless, I look forward to HQR 124.

>>37433082

Thank you for running, Azure.

Unfortunately, I'm finding myself staring down the difficult question of if I should keep on playing at this point. It all just seems so negative nowadays, and I don't really mean your players here. Good things just don't seem to happen on their own as much as bad. NPCs just don't seem as inherently good and sustaining as they used to be. And everything we do just turns out wrong. Why have things become like this Azure, and when do they get better?
>>
>>37433241
You will, you just won't remember not to or you'll convince yourself that you need to to make Jager happy or do some other inane bullshit,
>>
>>37433229
Anon kun thing azure is running. People vote for lewd/bad shit and he strikes it down because the character isn't fargone enough. Also one kid always votes to use a katana. We're playing a boxer.

I apologize for my vitriolic tone, and I know the temptation to just hear that and ignore the content, but could you please acknowledge that this you miscounted.

Even if there is a perception that showing weakness will ruin everything, acting infallible is much much worse.
>>
>>37433202
Maybe you need to count votes instead of going by what you think they are?

I think it's apparent now that players need to double-check your math for you. I wish we didn't have to, but since you spent an entire thread defending something which was objectively wrong, I don't think you can be trusted to not have your work checked over.

I'm a bit worried each time it's mentioned on here to be honest, if only because the audience has been so chill and the environment so relaxed. I wonder how long it would last with the regular customers while desperately not wanting to find out.

>>37433248
I don't fucking know dude. I just wanted to play dress up with Sin-Fin and jump onto a plot hook where we get to kill a bunch of mooks to show Risa's power now that she is leveled up. That is all I seriously want to do.

I don't know.
>>
>>37433320
...You gotta be trolling. You can't ignore that my point was that there wasn't an increase in protecting smiles, and that I had proof of that.

>>37433328
And you. That's so passive-aggressive and insincere I'd expect it from one of your characters.

This is a fucking problem. You don't get to say you only wanted fun, and then deliberately choose the critfail dialogue option and then proceed to say it was our fault when anyone raised an objection.
>>
>>37433356
the world would be a better place if you were ignored more often.
>>
>>37433356
Dude, you have been yelling at me nonstop all thread. I said exactly what you wanted. There is literally nothing more I can give you.
>>
>>37433356
And for the record, you had the gall to lie to our fucking faces and you're not even the least bit sorry about it.

If you can do that, this really casts doubt on everything that happened in the quest before now. Maybe angst and suffering is your idea of fun.
>>
>>37433381
Okay anonymous. I am sorry I had the gall to lie to your fucking faces.

I do not think there have been any issues before now, but it is possible that I miscounted elsewhere. Angst and suffering are not my ideas are fun and I am sorry I gave you that impression.
>>
>>37433374
No you did not. What I wanted was first an acknowledgement that how dialogue is done needs refining and work with us on a way to avoid this happening in the future.

What I'm getting is a hollow apology that's makes it clear you've never actually read a work I've said.

Just like this sycophant over here >>37433373
>>
>>37433328
The old 'fight an old boss as a mook to show how much stronger you are now' ploy?
Also, just how strong is our ultimate attack now. Our Pandora Cero used to be strong enough to blow the entire dome off of Los Noches, and it counts as 9 or 10 regular ceros. Our regular ceros are much stronger now, I'm sure. Pandora is 10 of that, WG is 2.5 when it detonates, Zero is 13 of *that*, WGZ is 2.5 of that again, and then there's Revelation...
I'm starting to think we may be able to wipe out the Seireitei in one blow if we really tried.
>>
>>37433405
You're not though. You're not even sorry you got caught.

You're not even really making an effort to tell me what I want to hear, which means the only reason for doing this is just to be passive-aggressive again.
>>
>>37433374
>There is literally nothing more I can give you.
You admitted to picking a course based on faulty counting. Instead of fixing it, you continued with the error and refuse to make corrections.

>>37433405
So you think an apology is enough redress for using a choice that didn't win?
Is that what you're intending?
>>
>>37433419
I acknowledge that dialogue needs refining and work in a way that will prevent this from happening in the future.

I have read the words you have said. I thought pulling some words from what you have said made it clear that I read it, but I am sorry that made it seem like I didn't read it.
>>37433444
The problem is Seireitei or what ever it is called is more like floating islands. It would make sense to think about it like oil on water. You try to shoot it, but then pieces of it wibble around.

And that's why I don't want to stop, because you don't actually care about what I'm saying you're just throwing empty words in a transparent attempt to placate me, while I want an honest fucking conversation. And at worst, it's indicative of an endemic problem in this quest that will doom this to repeating again and again and I want this to be the last time something like this happens. And yes, miscounting was honest. But not recounting before insisting that it was all our fault was not.
>>
>>37433521
>I will not retcon. That has been a policy of the quest for a while.

You are not having an "honest fucking conversation" you are ranting at me in a way that is unhelpful to the facilitation of a conversation. You have made it abundantly clear you will not "calm down", and no matter what I say will not change anything about this conversation so I do not see much of a point in it. A conversation can make something productive, ranting and becoming a nonstop engine of swearing will not produce anything other than annoyed players.
>>37433590
I may bring back securish voting. I stopped using them mostly because I was getting sick of how much time they took, but that might help lower the chance of this happening.
>>37433607
The people not calming down are not doing this to "help me". From what I am reading, this is similar to the people who did the same thing on ask and even if they have a point it will be lost in thick swaths of anger.

Those were less than productive, and I do not think this sort of "conversation" will be productive in any way as it currently exists.

I think so far as the ask situation might be concerned, the trouble lies partly in what's caused a lot of problems in HQR in previous threads. Namely, you were enabling a back and forth between two highly distempered individuals, driving both further rather than throttling back, something you can't do in threads, but could have done there.

I understand wanting to answer the player's questions or to make the sometimes abusive comments public, but there was a lot of "X thing sucks!" followed by "fuck that asktism faggot!". Posts with literally no question were put on display and hiked up for all to see, escalating the situation.

Okay I can calm down. First of all, huge fan, loved your work on .hack//AIDA, here, and World of Lewd, haven't read Ranger Quest yet but have been meaning to, I've heard good things, really hope you don't get too discouraged over this not just because this is a pretty rare blemish, but also this quest as a whole isn't something that should take too much of your life.

Now in this thread, people got mad for a variety of reasons. One of them was that this has been somewhat of a pattern with our allies as of late, where we offend them and desperately scramble for a way to make it better, only to fail. It is frustrating to read, even if we later make it up to them, the catharsis does not seem worth the strife as a use of our time. It was also frustrating because with Asmodeus we thought she was above all that, the one cool older sis-figure that wouldn't weigh us down with drama. This frustration increases when people feel like it doesn't reflect the choices they've made, which, in this case, that I acknowledge is somewhat unique, it was not.
>>
>>37433743
Fixing the relationship with Azzy just takes the willingness to give up some SPXP.

I just see the problem as votes not being counted properly, and vote counts will need to be double-checked from now on.

Thank you for your support! .hack//AIDA was fun because the universe tickles me, plus dat MANIA, World of Lewdness I like because it it just an excuse to play around with things I like and actually do lewd things which is a new thing, and Ranger was... waifus? Magic?

I see, so it was like a safety net was pulled out from under them in a way? The character interactions feel too skewed against Risa? Azzy shouldn't ever be bothered or offended?

For the last one I think an annoyed older sister character is sort of fun, and it makes the head rubs you get from her when you make up all the more sweeter.

I think I sort of see what you are saying in that Risa is messing up the interpersonal relations a bit. Maybe I will try and make it more obvious about what might be a better line of dialogue to take? It is possible that might help, but I am uncertain just what sort of prompting form it could take, especially in the case of write ins since I can't put a ~ on mid thread. Or maybe I can, and just count it as that. Might help.

You have Monologue. You can make a quick update in the middle of voting with Monologue, who is able to see us thinking, telling us it's a daft idea with the ~ and everything.
>>
>>37434104
People've already bitched at you rudely about this so I dunno if there's any point in trying to say it, but when characterization and stuff like that in general is left to the players rather than the QM, freaky bad stuff happens. Not always explosive meltdowns, sometimes it's just bizarre perversions of the character that everyone's fine with.
>>
>>37434050

Not that anon, but please don't exaggerate people's points with things like "shouldn't ever be offended". I feel that will cause a new host of problems for you. I think that you took "annoyed older sister" too far by leagues by insinuating that the players were now dead to Azzy or little better than a stranger over what they perceived as a small incident. You conflated that act into the most devastating, soul crushing act of betrayal on the player's part, and that last part lies almost entirely on you.

I am with you. I want you to be happy, but please be careful about poking bears.
>>
>>37434050
>For the last one I think an annoyed older sister character is sort of fun
Genuine question, is that what you were going with for Azzy? Cause I didn't feel it. I can't say I've ever had any fallen angel older sisters, and I'm kind of really terrible at people, but I dunno. Just doesn't feel like that's what you were going for.
>>
>>37434050
In a sense, it does feel like that, which makes it worse because it ALSO feels like we've been falling forever, which I believe is what >>37433248
has been feeling.

And while Azzy can be bothered or offended, even if that makes things difficult due to her playing by different rules, I feel like she should know Risa enough to know that Risa doesn't actually give a shit about smiles or friendship and at least attempt to figure out what Risa's angle was.

It's true, annoyed older sisters can be fun! But the thing is, she wasn't annoyed. We were effectively dead to her, her saying that she treated us any differently than she does anyone else was a mistake is a pretty big blow, especially after we saved her life.

I think another part of it was that there's been some misunderstanding on the part of our bond with Azzy. Like the players, myself included, thought it was a lot more reciprocal than you did, obviously. Since she held back and almost got killed, we risked our life against people a lot stronger than us to save her. She gives us information, we give her leg rubs. She gives us a box of things we can't use, we give her a lady we probably wouldn't even eat.

Also, that might help, but what I would like, even though I acknowledge it might be time consuming, would be a short, two or three sentence summary, of what you think we want Risa to convey, and how we want Risa to convey it.

Alternatively, you could give Risa more 'character' like in Larro's quests, and have her at least begin to understand her friends enough so that she'd be aware of their triggers, and even though she wouldn't know the perfect thing to say, or even the right thing, she'd at least know not to pick the worst thing. This could be a double-edged sword though, since Risa is not a pleasant or particularly kind person.
>>
>>37434211
>This could be a double-edged sword though, since Risa is not a pleasant or particularly kind person.
Are you kidding? I would fucking love for Risa to be a massive violent asshole more often and I'd love it if it could happen without convincing everyone else that voting for it WON'T kill them.
>>
>panicking over social situations

>>
>>37434211
Also, if you don't mind, I'd like to talk about tone a little.

First of all, I acknowledge that "this is 4chan" is not an excuse for vitriol, and while I can't exactly condone it, I can understand just saying whatever you think the yelling people want to stop the aggression, I've certainly done it in the past!

However, while being yelled at certainly isn't fun, it's also not very fun to be told that what you feel passionate about is all your fault, or being repeated an exaggerated version of what you said, and being told that that's the point you mad. It makes people feel like they're not being listened to, and when they don't feel listened to, their first response is to be louder.

Jager needs some way to observe the Time Devourererer in order to science it, right?

And our lasers and shit can hit it, right?

Well what if we were to go to an open patch of land with no TD above it and fire a HB straight up and tell Jager to record/observe, then go to a patch below some TD and then fire a HB straight up and have her record/observe?

Anybody think that has a chance of working?

Unfortunately, most of our supporting cast isn't that violent and the ones that are assholes (Akira, Caede, Loki, etc) we don't really like.

The downside of being a horrible person is that logically, only equally horrible people will want to hang out with you. And guess what? They're -horrible-.

That might help. I could have done the ~ protect smiles, people might have pointed it out or jumped ship, or something. Maybe I will set up a rule like the ~ will be used at least once in what might be considered a stressful conversation.
>>37434133
That is true. I can't just say "Hey, that isn't something they would do" in this situation because of the natural instability of this character.
>>37434155
She was just being cold, she didn't spit on the ground, and make an annoyed tsk when Risa stood in her doorway.

>>37434166
A colder older sister? Well I was sort of just latching onto the analogy he gave. I actually think Azzy is a half step too alien to really feel like family so no, that wasn't what I was aiming for.
>>37434211
As much as Asmodeus is very much aware of humans, there are parts of them she doesn't get totally, but I see your point.

She is normally super clingy in a way. Doting perhaps. Well, as doting as she can be without accidentally crushing Risa, or breaking someone's free will. So her acting different is just her acting colder.

>>37434211
She also gave you a power up in the Ryuujin fight, but I didn't really see it as being totally reciprocated. The relationship heavily favored Risa, how I saw it anyway.

I am worried about things that take time because I do not like slow update speeds, but it is something that might be a good idea to implement.

She is not, but the ~ might help serve that roll well and it already exists. Another fair option.
>>37434236
Risa as a monster is pretty fun. It's like getting out of the city in a muscle car and just tearing it up.
>>37434254
An understandable statement, however from my side this is coming after last threads constant beating down which came after getting beat down on ask.fm. Honestly dude, my mental stamina for this sort of this is finite.

camera cero?

Cero Pravda?
>>
>>37434309
...Pretty sure the Time Devourer is "above" the universe itself. So... no. I don't think it's located in three dimensional space, and even if it were, you appear to be forgetting that we are very geographically limited, or do you want Azrael to remind you?
>>
>>37434324
Good thing our ceros are like great big lasery dongs who don't know what it means when the dimensional barriers fail to give consent

What that anon was referring to was >>37431827

Where you compared what we did to taking back an engagement ring, which I would hope you could acknowledge sends a signal that Asmodeus was so much more than 'annoyed'.
>>
>>37434310
Risa being a psychotic crazy cat thing isn't a secret to them.

>>37434324
we just need a better cero, a cero that goes up to a 11
>>
>>37434315
Abusing timewarping powers to make up for lacking basic social skills seems like something Risa would do.

"I don't know why, but my tilde tingles every time I want to very seriously tell Ryoko that her grandma looks like what happens when the Frost King fucks a frozen turkey."
>>
>>37434365
Murder Lucifer, steal his lightbringer, merge it with Hellbreaker, then fire it at the sky while screaming "LOOK JAGER I TOLD YOU I WASN'T CRAZY ABOUT THIS THING" as our legs shatter and disintegrate and we pancake into the ground because Newton's 3rd totally applies to this sort of thing?

It was the best analogy I could think of at the time. It was the closest action too. Giving something that is sort of like a tangible sign of a bond, then trying to take it back.
>>37434365
A cero that goes to ludicrous!
>>37434369
"Well, it's either my Tilde or I'm having a massive stroke."

"Sensei what's wrong with your face?"

>>
>>37434369
I like the social tilde thing more than the thought of trying to humanize Risa. I think humanization wouldn't help with a lot of our fundamental problems and would only serve to piss off a chunk of the players that don't want it and a large chunk that expects it to be some kind of magic social fixer upgrade.
>>
>>37434315
>An understandable statement, however from my side this is coming after last threads constant beating down which came after getting beat down on ask.fm. Honestly dude, my mental stamina for this sort of this is finite.

And that makes sense! Believe it or not, I'm the one who suggested you take a break from ask.fm, or at least only open it at certain times of the day, because I was worried that spending all day checking an app to see people be mad at you would be really depressing.

However, this is somewhat of a paradox. While being yelled at by a lot of people a lot, does indeed wear you down, I really feel like it means that you should at least consider that there might be some substance to what they are yelling about. And if you don't feel up to that, ignore them. They will either stop or go away, though whether or not it's because they couldn't troll you, or they're disappointed because they see you unwilling to learn or change will vary by the individual.

Just don't respond specifically dismissing people, and don't treat the players as a hive mind. Not everyone voted for the same thing after all, so saying "you chose this" really only makes them angrier and wonder if they should have resorted to proxies and samefagging, which is not a fun thing to feel.
>>
>>37434406
Also, like you said, I feel that it fits with Risa's character waaaaay more than humanization.

Over the top abuse of cosmic power for minor issues is just what Risa's all about.

>Stairs? Better skullfuck gravity to avoid them.
>Someone at a mormon church is being annoying? I will rape fate to make his lunch suddenly rats
>No water in a place populated by beings that don't need water? Better shoot so much lightning and lasers at the sky that it develops weather.
>Harmless, but smelly, hippies in my shrine? Nothing says "go away" like horrific insanity poison.
>I'm losing at volleyball? LOLOLOLOLFATEBREAKERLOOLOLO
>I have to do things in this inconvenient humanoid shape? Man fuck that I'll just take the Old One corruption I like shapeshift too much.
>Other stuff I've surely forgotten but would love to be reminded of I'm tired gimme a break

Not really too far a cry from bending possible futures through a nub in your brain to replace the shriveled empathy/not-be-a-stupid-asshole-lobe.
>>
>>37434404
Hawaii!
>>37434406
Yeah, humanish Risa wouldn't be really that good a person all things being equal. So you want the social tilde I see.
>>37434414
Fair enough. I do want to try and make the game as fun and conducive as I can, so I just think "Hey, just talk to these people, it will work out" would make it all better but that is rarely the case.

Maybe I need a break or something, I don't know. If there isn't any way for there to be a calm conversation, then it is hard to find any sort of point in their arguments, which means that when they shout "I want you to be sorry! Be sorry!" Then I say sorry when they say "Say you are fucking sorry for having the GALL to do this and this" I say "I am sorry for having the GALL to do this and this." From what I have seen if I ignore those sorts of people they get worse, not better because they may have a legitimate complaint, but it isn't being addressed and that just angers them more.

I really don't see a way anything productive can come from choosing to do something or not do something.
>>
>>37434388
"Hey Risa I was going to go to clothes shopping with Sin-Fin later because she wants socks with reindeer on them or something and I was wondering if you wanted to come"

Come on Risa don't call her a nazi childkiller "Of course I would Jager and there's no way I'd call you a ~~~~~~~~~~~~ OH FUCK THAT HURT I GET THE MESSAGE"

"You ok there?"

"Yeah this daft bint just decided to blare mexican into my head like a mariache band" well you can just shatter her glass if you want to. It's a lot less erotic than it sounds. "No, no, I don't want that. I can't shatter another glass or my mom will take away the Nintindo 360" Is that even a thing? "I don't know but my mom will make it and take it away if I break Jager's glass again. You break it you buy it is the policy in the glass store" I think the glass was just a metaphor for something "but we just said that the glass wasn't lewd"

"I wear glass?" oh dear you've gone and confused the Nazi. You still can't say that

"No, you are the glass" Good, you didn't call her a nazi. I woulda had to buzz you "Thank god. I'm not good with those mustaches"

"Do you need to get a razor or something?"

"Oh no I'm fine but Miguel could probably use one" siiiiiii

Yeah, social tilde sounds cool. Could be a neat way to tack onto it as a usable thing since at the moment it mostly just seems to preemptively strikeout potential hyperaggressive writeins. I'm glad when I see it sometimes because I don't have to worry that people will suddenly pile on the stupid, but most of the time I just think "well there's no way that would have even been listed without the ~ and I don't think even -I'm- dumb enough to make a writein that says that"
>>
>>37434478
Ah, this is more tricky and subjective, but I feel like that's more a matter of tone right there. See, "sorry" depending on its use can really mean "please stop talking" where you don't actually feel you made any mistakes at all, and just want the yelling to stop.

Tactics such as just rephrasing what the other person said in your apology makes it seem less sincere not more, like a teenager rolling their eyes and groaning, which, again, is an understandable response to being yelled at, but not particularly helpful.
>>
>>37434536
There really isn't tone on the internet, but it's fine. I will just watch for it more later.
>>37434534
I see. This is doable as a trial for whenever I run next time.
>>
Kinda totally unrelated to the current climate, but why is Tickle Me Pink in the Core section instead of the Third Release section? Is the Third Release section only for powers that only apply when 3r actually activates, thus making TMP not fit due to being constantly active despite its function being entirely centered around 3r?
>>
>>37434558
Well I think I should do something else, because I'm starting to get a bit irritated again. I thought that there being tone on the internet was very much something you believed in, seeing as that was what prevented you from denying/apologizing earlier, and was something you conveyed earlier with your clipped sentences at >>37431442
>>
>>37434593
Exactly.
>>37434607
Okay, sorry about that. Have a good night.
>>
>>37434607
>you from denying/apologizing earlier,
Rather, anything BUT denying/apologizing.

I'd agree that swearing, especially on a board like 4chan, is not in itself indicative of what emotion the writer wants to convey, and yet you could very much tell that those people were quite cross with you.
>>
>>37434631
Well, I mean, I don't swear that much do I? Generally I take it more as context rather than tone then apply the words there. Like saying "Risa is a fucking joke!" in the context of a conversation about her being funny is good, but in the other contexts it is rather bad I guess?

Dunno.
>>
>>37434631
Meant argue not agree, revising prior conclusion upon receiving new information that irritation may in fact be due to being tired more than anything else.

Good night and good luck with your goose ride and may the rest of your weekend be more pleasant.
