The last empires of Man have crumbled to dust, and barbarism has descended upon the darkened universe...But one woman shines as a beacon of triumph - Cassiopeia, Queen of the Cosmos!
Higher and higher up the bleak and wind-swept rock she climbs, and Cassiopeia gives silent curse to the consequences of her wager!
Word had reached her far ear that in his den of lubricity, the vice-ridden crime lord Longorus had acquired a map to a treasure said to unlock the secret of immortality! So closely did Longorus hold the map that Cassiopeia found herself pledging not only her rocket pack but her ship as well, tokens of her faithfulness that she would recover the treasure and deliver it to him in return for a share of the reward.
Thus sated by her demonstration of intent, Longorus bade his servant to provide her the map, for it was not so great a distance from his palatial pleasure-house, though two of his men would accompany her.But thought the reward for this treasure was astounding, Cassiopeia's gaze was drawn to her real quarry...
...the kidnapped Princess of Arabesh, whose father would pay for her safe return a planet's ransom! So great was her worth that it dwarfed the prospect of the fabled treasure sought by Longorus!
>>37464371My god, riches beyond reason...
Upon seeing the princess stil alive, Cassiopeia agreed to the task, for such a deed would serve to draw her into the grotesque Longorus's inner circle, from where she might ply his trust against him and abscond from his sordid realm with the princess!
At last, the high peak where the treasure is said to lie can be seen...
...and Cassiopeia's sensitive ears detect the muffled grate of metal as the pair accompanying her draw their blades!
"We have been thinking," rasps the one, "Why let you have the reward when we may claim it ourselves?"=======Equipment check:* One spyglass* One burner* One space helmetRoll a d12 and link to this post for whatever you do, please! To roll, put dice+1d12 in the Options field!

OK, I'm home from work, full of food, and ready to answer questions!>>37486985>Hey lego quest, do you use a camera and tripod for your pictures? I do use a camera. It's a Canon PowerShot "Digital Elph", whatever that means. It's actually my second PowerShot; the first one died last year, but since I already had the cable and battery, I managed to find an identical model on eBay which came with its own battery, so now I don't have to cut games short when the battery runs out! I don't have a tripod, so I just try to hold it still and take 20 shots for every picture that actually gets posted. What kind of lighting set up do you use? I have two standing lamps and a ceiling light. Sometimes I think about making one of those light filter ceilings that /toy/ talks about, but I don't have the free time right now.Are you just using tremendous sheets of construction paper as a back drop? No, it's usually posterboard, but sometimes I use a big piece of colored butcher paper. The upside of butcher paper is that since it's so wide and tall I can take more panoramic shots than with posterboard, but the downside is that it crinkles really easily so after a few weeks the sky is full of creases. Can I ask more questions?I think you did a few posts down, but sure!
>>37490426>is that Baron Harkonnen? He wishes! All Longorus gets is a couch full of not-very-mysterious stains.>>37490464>>37490965>>37493328Yeah, I really need to get this guy. I thought of a scenario for him on the drive home from work today.>>37495190Shoot, thought I greentexted that.
>>37489200>What kind of camera are you using?See >>37495190>Do you take certain photos in advance?I take the intro pictures beforehand. I used to write the intro first, then take pictures to suit, but I've found that it's a lot easier for me to take the pictures first. Occasionally I take the intro pictures and then decide not to run a game that day (this episode's intro pictures were taken last week). Otherwise, all the pictures in the game are made "live".>How much of these things do you plan and how much is made up on the spot?--do you come up with a main goal and try to steer things towards it as we go, or do you make up a crap load of branching path idea outlines and kind of go with that? There's usually a goal of some kind for the main character, either immediate or long-range, but sometimes the MC gets sidetracked, and that's OK too. I might have one or two potential scenes or bits of dialogue in mind that I think would be cool, but I don't plan anything more than one scene in advance. All the names of people and places are usually made up on the spot. Mostly I just try to keep the action up and make sure the players are engaged.>Do you build the characters or write part of the script first?I mostly just start with a broad concept for the main character or the setting, like "Imperial assassin" or "post-apocalyptic". From there, I assemble a bunch of minifigs without assigning them any particular roles; I just put them together in a way that I think fits the setting. For this episode, the character roles were mostly assigned before the game started, because of the flashback. In a game where the main character starts out alone, there's a pile of minifigs off to the side that I grab whenever I need another character, but the character roles are made up on the spot nine times out of ten.
>>37495502>pincuponthat thing is cute as fuck
>>37495619Thanks! I think it's the cutest brick-built animal I've made so far.As stated earlier in the thread, I made a list of all the instruction manuals I have. I know I'm missing at least some, but I have most of them. I also have a good amount of minifigs because when I was a kid you could buy a box of five minifigs for five bucks. This also doesn't include the initial shoebox full of pieces that I first received as a toddler or the stuff I got at garage sales, thrift stores, or Bricklink.Lego Quest's (Mostly-Complete) Set List:http://pastebin.com/PbptYhkf
>>37464309How did you make this shot? Is she just laying on a flat black background or is there a hidden stand in there somewhere?Do you use any sticky tack when you're making these or are they all just bricks?
>>37496510>How did you make this shot? Is she just laying on a flat black background or is there a hidden stand in there somewhere? If you look at it with a really bright monitor, you can see a shadow of the stand where the red line is.>Do you use any sticky tack when you're making these or are they all just bricks?I use so much sticky-tack.Sometimes I don't get all of it off and then somebody has a little glob on their shirt in a later scene.
>>37483508How much are you willing to pay for Evil Wizard?
>>37498573Well, it's $3.99 at Target, so I suppose that much.
Quite an interesting quest, this one. Unfortunately when I found this one yesterday I was too late to the party.
>>37499542That's the unopened price and if you aren't very good at guessing what's inside the blind package.
I love Lego Quest. Please keep doing them!
>>37500603The slope it uses for legs is impossible to miss.
>>37482344Damn, that minifig brings back memories. I bought Bat Knights set with the Witch and with the skeleton head I was making liches before it was cool.
>>37500603Somebody in /legogeneral/ is offering an Evil Wizard as one of the prizes for a design contest, so I'm gonna try and score that first. If not, I guess it's Target for me.>>37501682>I love Lego Quest.
