'Is there no way you can send more ships out?' You ask, nearly desperate.

'No, friend, there is simply not enough man power in this base to allow that kind of surveillance,' Thorpe replies sadly, shaking his head.

Dammit. 'Well I guess I'll have to take out the pirates in this area before I move on then!' You say with a smile.

'Ah! I would expect nothing less from you, my friend!' the lieutenant says, answering your smile with one of his own.

>Good Gods! Look at the time, it's best to get out to sea and start taking down pirates now!
>We can wait a bit, no need to rush.

Unless our marine buddy can tell us their usual haunts.

Ah, but alas, I cannot stay with you any longer, my friend,' you say sadly, truly you are going to miss Lieutenant Thorpe. 'For I have fair winds and unfair pirates to catch! Speaking of which, where exactly are these pirates?' You ask, smiling at your friend.

'Well, they've been sighted somewhere to the west of here, near Torin Island, just go in that direction and you'll eventually come upon them!'

'Thank you, friend!' You say with a flourish, exiting the Lieutenant's rooms.

'It'll be good to feel the wind in my hear and the sea scents in my nose,' Mia remarks as you're walking down to the docks. 'I didn't realise how much I had missed sea voyages until I went with you.'

Ah, so that's why she's been a bit snarky, she's missing the roiling waves!

'I tend to agree with that, I feel the need for a deck under my feet as well.' You reply, walking down to the pier where your sloop is docked.

As you make your way onto the ship, you notice that the food you bought yesterday is still stashed belowdecks. Thank God.

'Where to now, Captain?' Mia asks, hand on the rudder.

>Well, he said West, so we're going to Torin Island!
>I think we'll just sail the waves and see who that takes us into contact with!

'Torin Island,' you say, griping the wheel and taking your ship out of the pier. 'That's west, so do you have a compass?'

'A compass?' she asks with a scoff, 'Why need a compass when the sun's in the sky?'

Ah right, you'd forgotten about that..

'Well direct us where to go, oh wise navigator.' You deign to reply.

'Starboard side. That's right, in case you didn't know.'

'Smart ass.' You comment, bringing your ship around and setting sail.

It takes the better part of a day before you see anything other than water on the horizon. It looks like a ship, and you comment that much to Mia.

'Aye, captain, it definitely does,' she says, squinting at the indefinable shape on the horizon. 'I'll go down and get the spyglass, make sure you don't crash us somewhere in the meantime.' She finishes with a wink.

Gods, she's just getting worse and worse!

When she brings the spyglass up, she passes it to you. As you put it to your eye, you can see that it is indeed a ship. You also see, however, a Jolly Roger on the mast.

This can either be really good, or really bad.

>Follow the ship! Attack when they sleep!
>Attack now! No need to wait!
>Let them go, they may have numbers or strength on their side.

We are still using a Jolly Roger flag right? So lets just approach them openly then snipe their captain when his in range.

huh forgot about that, that could also work

'We'll sail in to them,' you say to Mia, a plan forming in your mind. 'We'll sail in, keeping our Jolly Roger up, pretending to be fellow pirates, who knows? Maybe they know the pirate we stole the ship off? Then when we get within sniping range, I'll pick them off, one by one. Then when you get in, you can take out the rest.' You continue, smiling devilishly.

'Right, captain,' Mia replies, echoing your smile.

You get close to the ship as the day progresses, making your way closer and closer every minute. By the time you reach within sniping distance to them, they're waving their arms and yelling, though you can't make out what they're saying.

>Go up to the crow's nest and shoot!
>Shoot from here, less range, but less chance of them knowing what's going on.
>Try to get closer and try to infiltrate them. Never know what they're planning if two (supposed to be) rivals hail each other at sea!

I think we need to go as sneakily as possible. Scope things and do a little bit of reconnaissance. Who knows what we see?

'Take the wheel, Mia, I'm going to do some shooting.' You say to her, climbing the mast to the crowsnest stealthily.

It's hard to remain unseen, but you think you do it good enough. The shouting doesn't increase in intensity, nor does it become panicked.

When you make it into the nest and take your rifle out of your shoulder holster, holding the scope to your eye and taking aim at what appears to be the captain.

>Great Success!
You take the shot and it blows the captain's head off!
The pirates shouting now becomes panicked and loud, clearly not knowing what direction the shot came from, if they even know there was a shot at all.

You manage to take our 6 more pirates in a quick amount of time before they realise that they're being attacked.

They all hit the deck, trying to crawl to the door to the cabin, or to the hatch to the underdecks. By the time you're finished, only 6 make it.

But those six put up the biggest fight. When you get close enough to jump decks, it's clear that it'll be a long, drawn out fight.

>Fight them!
>Bust down the doors and shoot!
>Starve them out.
