There are lighter weight guns. a .38 would work well. IIRC it's a common 'defense handgun' marketed to women. Also rather cheap compared to regular 9mm guns.

And you can always start her out really small with a .22 then work up from there.

Of course, the guys keps asking him about his new partner. One of them seemed to still be having trouble believing the whole thing, but, well, it is inevitable as time goes on and he comes across one sooner or later.

Once the seat was adjusted (it really didn't took long at all) he he took the car out and took a drive around town, then stopped by the bakery in the main street and got a liquor cake and a strawberry one.

Everyone was nice and helpful... probably. She really wished she understood what they were saying without her translation spell, but it just sounded so strange.

English seemed to have completely different sounds from her own language. So many of them, she spent a good part of the class merely learning the sound of S and P.

She felt awful. It was extremely embarrassing to sit with small children as they took lessons for their speech problems.

Also, the children seemed to love trying to grab her ears!

The following day, he asks the sergeant for the day off after explaining to him what he wants to do, and picks up both Ellie and her father to take them to the hospital.

"Our medi.. our healers dont use that magic thing your people does. We mostly try to get the body to heal itself, and help it as much as possible, I... think."

The elder nods. He is riding on the backseat of Cedric's car, somewhat nervous to be inside something without some beasts to pull it along.

Thankfully, the hospital staff is somewhat familiar with Cedric, so it is not that hard to get to see the director of the hospital after a while.

Thus, for now the elves will continue to just sell "other world collectables" over the internet, and in a couple of weeks, we will try and visit a larger university hospital.

Actually... we stop by to purchase a laptop (yes, Cedric didn't had one) and use it to offer some of their stuff on the net.

The bids start coming almost immediately. Well, it should be done by tomorrow. For now Cedric is using his own data, but he'll just hand the money to Ellie and she can shop for supplies for everyone with him.

Eh, it's cool, people know what's around them and what affects them. Unless you're in the lumber business or something, you wouldn't know about the terrain around here.

As I live somewhat close to there I can say there are lots of forests and woods (like, mini forests man) in this part of the country, the northern peninsula of that state does have a lot of forests and wooded areas so that's probably where they're gonna end up. Hope they like somewhat wonky weather patterns and lake effect snow.

That's the kind of thing you have to be a local to really know. Midwestern weather is wonky, and I live in the state where it's most wonky. We have a saying here "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute". That's because it's all over the place, Severe thunderstorms one night, crystal clear skies the next, only to be followed by thunderstorms and shit. It's like the Dice Gods are in charge of the weather. Ya get used to it, but you never stop noticing that.

You ain't dumb man, just saying. There's a reason even smart people consult the locals. Even the average local knows things you don't. That's why "armchair" anthropology and such is criticized. To truly know, you must go there and live for a bit. Reading a book or wikipedia entry just won't tell you *everything* you need to know.
