>Hmm, like currents in water.

“Like currents in water, I guess,” you hum, “Where nightmares are a lot like concentrated pools of it… that said I usually only can see the nightmares.”

“Why’s that?” Kat asks, her curiosity getting the better of her.

You shrug, “Not sure, but if I had to guess maybe its like the stars and cities? Too much light to really see them.”

“Does it bother you? being able to see it all?”

You think about it for a moment, before shaking your head, “Not really, if anything its the zoning out that worries me.”

Kat bites her lip, “Maybe it’s just a temporary thing?”

It’s with a frown that you remember Anna’s understanding look, idly you realize you could ask her about it, “Hopefully?”

She nods, “Since you were zoning out, I take it you found a nightmare?”

You glance about again, already knowing the answer but confirming it once more anyways, “Yeah, at least one, the other… well might not be finished yet.”

“So want to take care of them then?” Kat asks with a smile, that has a hint of confidence to it.

>Yeah, let’s hit the finished one.
>I wonder if we can even hit this half formed one.

So now we have a reason to chat up Anna. Aside from getting SA's rope.
>>
>I wonder if we can even hit this half formed one.

“Yeah, I wonder if we couldn’t hit this half formed one,” you say heading over to the bus stop, Kat following along behind you.

“Maybe?” Kat says unsure, she takes a seat on the bench while you look.

It takes a moment of awkwardly feeling around in the rough center of where its forming before you find what you’re looking for. Certainly a lot harder to find the entrance, but still there… probably to allow the energy needed to build to flow through.

“Here, try this spot,” you tell Kat, bringing her hand to it, she flusters before being consumed by the nightmare and disappearing into. You shake your head, before following after.

Kat’s already halfway through her transformation, the smoke depositing clothing, adjusting to keep her decent from your point of view. You watch her finish and glance around, there’s not much here to see, just a bunch of clocks all displaying five minutes past an hour, some of the clocks not even fully made, shattered like the first nightmare you wandered into.

In the center of everything is a panicked looking business suit wearing demon, frantically backing away from you and Kat. His eyes are clocks, his hair a mess, his tie crooked, belt undone, and he’s sweating buckets.

He’s saying something in a language you can’t understand, shaking his head, before tripping over himself and landing on his ass. Kat frowns at the sight before glancing at you questioningly.

“I guess instead of being late, we were early,” you say glancing at the clocks around.

Kat swallows, still looking unsure, “Yeah I guess so,” she looks back at the demon who’s failing to run. She creates a fireball, moderately sized as a mote of darkness starts to float around her. With a last moment of hesitation she launches it at the demon, who throws up a clock in between it and him… just a moment too late as it hits him in the face.

The demon lets out an uncanny wail, that sends shivers down your back and sends the clock flying towards Kat. Not wanting to take any chances you dive out of the way, hitting the ground in a roll with a grimace. Might be a little bruised.

Kat managed to move out of the way, and is moving closer holding another fireball with a grim look on her face, “Please just… just go away…” she’s just loud enough for you to hear, before throwing it.

The demon puts up a meager defense in time, that shatters from the explosive impact. It’s suit is burning away, an impossible frail form shown underneath.

You frown as you watch this it makes something churn in your stomach…

>This is too unsettling, leave.

You shake your head, perhaps hoping to shake off the feeling, “Hey Kat, lets… lets just leave. This feels wrong.”

Kat hesitates before nodding, both of you heading for the entrance. The demon cowering where she left it. You hesitate as Kat returns to her normal self, and leaves quickly. You give it one last look, cowering at the far edge of its nightmare. It’s with a shiver that you exit.

She’s sitting on the bench at the bus stop looking uncertain, you join her with a sour taste left in your mouth, “Let’s only go after completed nightmares from now on,” Kat says quietly.

“Yeah… definitely,” you shake your head again, realizing you aren’t in the mood to hunt another demon after that.

Kat leans against you with a sigh as you wonder if you’re even in the mood to do anything after that.

Yeah, okay I'll give you that. A light work out with a light amount of ice cream and a moderate amount of time inbetween and you probably won't puke.

And considering what Alex and Kat think what a "good work out" is... well, yeah.

So, work out clothes is nothing at all, right? Just kidding. Mostly. I've had my exhibitionism fix for now.
>>
>A good workout clears the mind.

“Hey Kat, lets work out, it’s been a couple days anyways,” you say after a moment.

Kat looks up at you, “But we don’t have any workout clothes?”

“Shadow Alex has it covered, she holds on to those sort of things for me,” you grin, grateful that just saying her name is enough to catch her attention.

”You’re saying I can feel Kat up… to figure her size of course,” Shadow Alex excitedly asks.

“Don’t be too surprised when you feel hands roaming your body, groping you Kat, she’s just checking your sizes to make sure everything fits,” you warn Kat while giving Shadow Alex the go ahead.

Kat nods, but still lets out a surprised half moan as Shadow Alex begins her work, ‘Yo, what do you think of that last demon?’

”You mean how it cowered and ran?” Shadow Alex asks, as you watch Kat’s hair stand on end.

‘Yeah, it didn’t feel right at all,’ you shiver as Shadow Alex moves to you replacing your clothes with a sports bra, tank top, and a pair of tight fitting running shorts.

You can feel her shrug, ”It might just be that sort of demon, they’re formed from the darker side of humanity…” she moves back to Kat, who’s baggy outfit is swapped out for a light tank top and running shorts. She shivers as Shadow Alex finishes.

You frown as you consider that, ‘That’s fucked, hopefully we don’t run into demons like that… again anyways.’

”To be honest though, I’ve no clue… just a guess is all. Ah, thank dad for the foam when we get home, works like a charm.” she’s clearly satisfied.

Kat’s busy checking herself out with a confused look on her face, ‘Will do.’

“Ready?” you ask Kat, moving out of the bus stop, eager to get started and leave this all behind. Literally and figuratively.

Kat furrows her brow before nodding, “Yeah, lets go.”

The two of you start in a jog, mostly to warm your muscles up and get in a rhythm, before moving it up to full on running. Kat’ll sprint ahead before slowing down to a jog, which you sprint up and pass her, repeating this as you start heading for the park.

It takes you maybe ten minutes of this to get there, both of you starting to tire out. You can’t help but smirk as you decide its not nearly enough. There’s a path around the park thats a mile and half long, “Gonna run this whole path,” you say between breath’s to Kat who nods.

You push yourselves, not quite sprinting, but a solid run and come back to the front covered in sweat and really starting to finish it. You’re almost tempted to stop, but shake your head and slow into a jog, both you and Kat sharing small talk as you do.

As you’re jogging around, you come up on someone in a full sweat suit and an awkwardly shaped backpack, they’re jogging at a slightly slower pace than you are. You slow down as you get close and realize that it’s Amy, using the sweat suit to cover up her changes, likely hiding her wings in that bag.

You glance to Kat and realize she’s probably good for pushing further and harder… you realize that you probably could as well.

You shrug and slow down to match her pace, Kat almost passes you before she realizes what you’re doing, “Done?” she asks.

“Nah, hold on,” you say as you approach Amy, its with a barely conceal grin that you give her taut ass a solid slap.

Amy nearly jumps out of her skins, her backpack ruffling loudly as her wings flap in surprise, she turns with a look of anger before she see’s you, her anger simmering down into a disgruntled frown, “The hell was the for?”

Shadow Alex hums in satisfaction, ”I’ll take that~”

You shrug, “It was asking for it.”

Kat giggles, before gasping for breath and realizing she doesn’t have that sort of luxury.

The dragongirl lets out another surprised sound, “Woah, it’s been ages since I last saw you Katherine… I thought you’d gotten out or something.”

You raise your eyebrows at this as Kat does a double take, eyes going wide as she recognizes Amy, “Huh.. wow. I didn’t realize it was you… what have you been up to?”

“This and that,” Amy shrugs as you move to other side of Kat, letting them get closer to talk easier.

“I guess its a small world, after all,” you say with a smile, “We’re pushing ourselves today, you want to join?”

“Sure, might as well catch up anyways,” she agrees glancing back to Kat, “I didn’t realize you knew her though…”

Kat starts to pick up speed, pushing you back to your faster jog, while smiling, “Alex saved me from a nightmare, and since has given me a place to stay.”

Amy shakes her head sighing, “Still biting off more than you can chew?”

“I wouldn’t… say that just unlucky,” Kat says after a moment of hesitation.

You shake your head, “She’s strong… just needs a little more confidence.”

>Push everyone to exhaustion.

“So how do you two know each other?” you ask picking up the pace slightly, getting ready to run everyone to exhaustion.

Kat’s smile turns into a sheepish one, “Ahaha, funny story.”

“She entered the nightmare I was in, saw me fight, and wanted to learn from me,” Amy shrugs, “Taught her what I could but... “

“It helped!” Kat reassures Amy, “It really did.”

“So you two have known each other for a while?” You ask, curious.

Kat thinks for a moment, “Like half a year? off and on?”

“Yeah, about that,” Amy confirms as she works a stitch out of her side.

You grin seeing that as your chance, “Well, I suppose you’ll have to catch up later… for now enough of a light jog.”

Your uncollared pet nods, as Amy grimaces slightly. Slowly, you increase your pace into a run then break into a sprint, before bringing it back down to a jog and repeating. You do this until everyones sprint might as well be the jog you all started out with, everyone’s legs feeling heavier than lead.

Finally you slow down into a walk, breathing heavy and barely standing. Kat breathes out, “Oh thank god,” as she puts her hands behind her head and tries to control her breathing.

Amy’s sweat suit is soaked, she slowly reaches for her bag and pulls a water bottle from the side pouch. She drinks half of it before looking down at herself and shrugs pouring the other half over her head.

All of you are too tired to even say a word, just down the path you see a bench that looks like it was given to you from god himself. Kat’s already awkwardly walking, or stumbling towards it. You nod in agreement as you follow after, a hand on your shoulder almost causes you to lose balance.

A glance back shows Amy pulling herself to you and attaching herself to you, you’re about to complain when you realize how much more stable you are like this. Nodding, or well you try to, really your head just barely moves as you wrap a hand around her waist and make your way to the bench.

Kat gets there first and just falls on top of it, taking it all up. You grumble, “Hey, share come on.”

She groans and sits up just enough for you and Amy to sit on the other half, you’re in the middle as Kat lays back down, her head in your lap as you and Amy support each other sitting up.

You feel your head dipping as you start to nod off…

>This… is a really bad place to sleep.
>Talk about something…

You shake your head, knocking into Amy, you both groan as the pain wakes you up. Kat’s fallen fast asleep and is purring quietly.

“So,” you say suppressing a yawn, “How long have you been doing this?”

“Shit, I haven’t really kept track…” she frowns, “I guess seven months now.”

You nod slowly, “how do you deal with school?”

“You mean with these changes?” she asks, realizing you’re going to keep her up.

“Yeah, with those changes, I’m trying to figure out how to deal myself,” you explain, gently petting Kat.

Amy sighs, “Well at first, I got lucky with things easy to hide. Scales under areas hidden by clothes and didn’t have gym the last half of the year,” she pauses, “Then my eyes and hands changed, I used the excuse of being a fan of cosplay… avid fan.”

“That’s about when Summer started, I’ve recently heard though that some girls will make a wish for…” Amy makes a frustrated noise while she thinks, “Ah! Yeah, for an aura of normal change or something like that.”

“... aura of normal?” you ask raises an eyebrow at that.

It's usually way to cold to have sex outside where i live ;_;

Amy shrugs, “I’ve not done it myself yet, but apparently its relatively cheap and makes it to where normal people who meet you won’t think anything of it… even if you’re lacking a shadow,” she glances down at herself pointedly.

You smile, “Yo, nothings wrong with that.”

“Not saying there is, just if you’re sitting in front of someone they’re bound to notice,” Amy points out.

You sigh knowing full well that she’s right, you glance down at Kat thinking.

“What about you?” Amy asks, “How long have you been doing this?”

“I guess a week now,” you say after a moment of thought, “Yeah, lets call it a week.”

Amy snorts, “Man with all that already? I’d put a hundred that you’ll hardly look like a person before a month’s up.”

You follow her gaze, still petting Kat, “Yeah, I may have been spoiling her.”

“At least someone is,” Amy lets out a throaty chuckle.

You shift and realize that you’re starting to grow uncomfortable from the sweat drying, “Hey, if you want, we can head to my house and use the shower.”

“How close do you live?” Amy asks, curious.

“Maybe a twenty minute walk?” you say gesturing in roughly the right direction.

“Your family won’t mind?” you ask, while starting to gently shake Kat awake.

You shrug, accepting it at that, “Hey Kat,” you say as you manage to wake her from her short nap.

“Hhmmm?” she says sleepily, rubbing her eyes.

“If you want to go back to sleep, you can visit Shadow Alex,” you brush a strand of hair out of her face.

She nods closing her eyes and wrapping her arms around you.

You shrug, figuring thats probably the best answer you’ll get, ‘Yo Shadow Alex, how do we do this anyways?’

”Well… hold on… I’ve got an idea,” she sounds uncertain.

“What do you mean visit Shadow Alex?” Amy asks confused.

“Hm? My Shadow is pretty chill, a lot like myself,” you explain as a really thick blanket appears over Kat covering her up. You shiver and almost moan as both Kat and the Blanket disappear.

“Yo, as I was saying,” you say calmly, “I’ve a room inside me.”

“Yeah, so does every magical girl, what’s that got to do with anything?” Amy’s eyes narrow.

“This change I have was gotten through trying to rip it open, so my shadow could come out to play,” you sigh, “Well as I kept eating cores we figured out how to work it the other way.”

“So, she’s inside of you?” Amy’s eyes look down to your chest, “And is fine?”

“Yeah, she’ll rest there, maybe enjoy some netflix, and be just fine when she comes out,” you smile, “Honest.”

”Hey, we don’t have... “ Shadow Alex starts before hesitating, ”... or do we?”

You furrow your brows at that, you were just making a joke but if you really have netflix… you’re not certain how that’ll make you feel.

“Alright, whatever,” Amy stands up, wobbling a little, “But when we get to my place let her out, for my sake.”

You nod and stand on shaking legs, “No problem, though if I had any guess she’ll still be sleeping then.”

Amy shrugs as if doesn’t matter, and shows you the way to her house, it’s a bit longer than five minutes. Though you think its mostly because you two barely can walk. As you get to the door she reaches inside her sweat suit and pulls out a lanyard with a key attached to the end. She unclips it and opens up the house.

>>
>>37648494

“Shoes,” Amy says as she kicks hers off, you do the same, barely managing to stand up as you look around.

Her house is feels a little bigger than it should on the inside, Amy leads you in, and to the left. Your eyes wander as you follow her, as you pass the living room you balk at the size of the Tv, its basically the size of the wall outside of the speakers that sit on either side of it. The couch looks impossibly comfortable.

You tear your eyes from it to see Amy smirking, “Big right? It’s great for scary movies… better than the theatre anyways.”

“No kidding,” you say as she leads you to the bathroom, again you stop and stare, the entire room is filled with various colors of marble, including the tub itself which looks large enough to fit a small party of people without being crowded. You furrow your brow again, this place feels a lot bigger on the inside, you’re starting to think she may have spent a wish on it.

Amy hums happily as she see’s your reaction, “Gotta love that, gets people every time, but anyways, enough of that,” she says almost pointedly, “Since Kat’s just as sweaty, she should be here for this.”

So, ground rules, no sex with Amy 'cause, you know, even if she has a bitchin' orgy bath Beth hasn't given us the go-ahead, but molestation is okay because we sort of owe her? Also, keep things a bit light because tonight we'll need all of our energy to hit Kat like the fist of an angry god after we collar her?
>>
>>37648880
Sounds fair.
>>
>Yeah, okay. Give me a minute.
>I have to ask, did you wish for all this?
>I could use a bath that size.

“Yeah, okay,” you say almost absent mindedly, “You mind hitting the light? Has to be dark.”

Amy nods, “What made you want to try and pull your shadow out anyways?”

You shrug, “She’s me, and I’m her, it wasn’t until a run in with a touch of magic that we split. So of course I would want to let her have that freedom again,” you say to Amy and feel Shadow Alex’s arms wrap around you in a hug.

With a content feeling Shadow Alex lays Kat before you on that same thick blanket, ”She didn’t even wake up.”

Amy, despite expecting it, still jumps a little, “Still though… aren’t you worried about everything it wants you to do?”

“Nah, she’s cool. We get along, sometimes she’s the more reasonable one,” you smile widely as Amy turns the lights back on.

Kat flinches at the sudden light on her eyes, and you take the chance to wake her up, “Hey, wake up, we need to get clean before you sleep.”

She slowly sits up and rubs her eyes, which quickly go wide as she doesn’t recognize where she is, until she spots you and Amy, “Where..?”

“Amy’s house, she lived closer and offered to let us bathe,” you stand up and brush yourself off.

“Ahh, kay,” Kat nods as she stands up, “.. it’s like a mini swimming pool.”

“Just about,” Amy has started striping down, already her bag covering her wings is off and she stretches them. She starts running the water, getting it to just about steaming hot as it slowly fills the tub.

>>37649557

Your own clothing has disappeared off of you, with the blanket, and Kat’s as well, the only indication they were taking a teasing message on your legs from Shadow Alex that left you wanting more.

”You just have to ask, you know, I hardly can bring myself to stop,” Shadow Alex teases.

‘Maybe later,’ you think, “So Amy… I’ve got to ask, did you wish for all this? Because I could seriously use a tub like this.”

Amy manages to pull off her sweatshirt which has a small hole in the back and a clasp at the neck to let her wings through, “Yeah, I did. It’s so much nicer now, actually have room to stretch,” she pulls off her pants careful to not let them catch on certain scales that stick out a little, before stepping in.

You follow after, testing the water carefully, before sinking down. Kat looks at the steam and then back to you skeptical, “Don’t worry, its about what this mornings bath was.”

She lets out a sigh of relief before joining Amy and yourself.

The three of you enjoy the soak for a while, before Amy breaks the silence, “So why’d you become a magical girl Alex?”

You glance at Kat and see that’s more or less barely awake, and start to help her wash off, “Well, I walked through a nightmare and out the other side a changed woman so to speak.”

“Honestly though, at first I planned on undoing the change, I think, but now not so certain if I have a wish at all,” you gently clean Kat of the sweat causing her to start purring.

Amy hums, “What changed?”

“Quite a bit, lost a bit of stubborn fat,” you glance down, at your chest, “Gained it else where, got abs, taller, and longer hair.”

“... why would you want to change that at all?” Amy asks skeptical.

“It wasn’t me?” you shrug, aware you are misleading her at least a little, “What about you?”

Amy glances around the bathroom for emphasis, “I’m a little on the greedy side, and so when they approached me offering wishes and anything from my wildest dreams…” she laughs, almost embarrassed, “Well I basically asked how high they wanted me to jump and when I should start.”

“Just like that?” you ask working on Kats hair with a conditioner.

“Just like that,” Amy watches you take care of Kat, “You know, you’re almost like a mother and her child.”

You freeze, hair standing up on end as you hear Shadow Alex laughing inside of you, “W-what?”

Thats a more direct way of:

That said would like end up being a line under that. As that's more or less related to that promise yeah?

Or maybe its just me.

So Hap, question: are permanent changes going to go along a theme instead of being random? It's awfully convenient how Amy's changes has all been dragon related (and interesting how it's been a reflection of her greed).
>>
>>37650576
>>Y-yeah well, I promised I’d take care of her.
>>
>>37650981
You know, I originally was running with that idea. However, I'm not too certain any more as that causes predictability... and perhaps a little bit boring.

I'm kind of on the fence about it and have been since about where I introduced Amy and company.

I suppose I could leave it up to you all, but still thinking on it.
>>
>>37651217
You can do half and half: temp changes are random and unpredictable, but permanent changes are based more on the person (though with a bit of randomness: maybe create a chart tailored towards a person?).
>>
>>37651217
Thematic changes seem nice, Kat could stand some more cattiness mentally.
>>
>>37651244
This seems like a good way to go about it.
>>
>>37651244
This is actually basically how I was approaching it from the start.
>>
>>37651244
To give an example, Alex's changes are based on shadows and stuff initially because of her strong bond with her Shadow, and now because of the darkness power she inherited. Amy's is based on her greed, so she gets draconic changes and mental changes that cause her to covet things. Anna is a loner who would rather watch than be involved, so along with her wolf changes (lone wolf, teehee) she also becomes more aloof and such. Kat wants to be loved and pampered, so her changes are geared to making her appealing to someone who would want to own her, and change her so she wants to be owned. And Beth is trying to rebel against constraints, starting with her sexuality changing to homosexuality, which is against societal norms (probably particularly in the area she's in).

Those are just me thinking off the top of my head, so take it as you will.
>>
>>37651329
Interesting thoughts, but then why isn't Shadow Alex a goal-driven workaholic?
>>
>>37651378
Eh?
>>
>>37651378
Amy was greedy gets greed based changes. Beth wants to get away from being the good girl, rebels. Anna is a loner gets loner changes. Kat wants love so she becomes lovable.

Alex is chill, wants chill, continues to be chill.

So at what point does workaholic come in?
>>
>>37651378
Because our original power set is Mirrors so her personality closely mirrors the MC's?
>>
>>37651498
>So at what point does workaholic come in?
That's what I'm wondering. From the word go of this quest we've been chill and going with the flow of many things.
>>
>>37651498
We've been powerleveling like a motherfucker.

Although we've been chill about it.
>>
>>37651526
We've also been taking things as they come, rather than focus on goals and such. Alex is basically on the complete opposite end of the spectrum as, say, Lyra from Re:Monster Quest.
>>
>>37651526
Have you not noticed that in addition to being very serious about cooking Alex is a bit of a fitness nut? Or at least a serious runner? Alex and SA both like to exercise, I look at demon killing as an extension of that.
>>
>>37651526
Being serious about things doesn't make one a workaholic. When Alex does something it's the idea of 'do it right the first time and chill the rest of the time'

To further add to thoughts about Beth, if her changes make her more of a rebel, I imagine them to be mostly on the mental side than physical side, and she'd be more normal human looking than most other magical girls. However, her physical changes would make her more like a punk or a rebel: interesting hair/eye color changes, or maybe she gets "natural" tattoos that start covering more of her body and become more risque or shocking.

For some reason, I'm imagining a fully "corrupted" Beth to be a younger and female version of Dietrich from Dragonfall (complete with becoming a lead singer for a punk band: "Are you a good singer, Beth?" "I front lined for a punk rock band. Fuck no, I can't sing.")

questions, what are our current plans regarding wishes and cores, are we saving up for anything in particular, how are we going about it and how close are we to achieving it?
>>
>>37651217
>I'm not too certain any more as that causes predictability... and perhaps a little bit boring.
Not so, it wouldn't be boring, and its the safer of the two, I'd really hate for you to roll dice and have it drastically change things and break the quest, having them be thematic makes sense and sticks with who the character is. I really really don't want this quest to die because of a random transformation table.
>>
>>37651244
That seems like the smartest way of going about it.

>>37651296
Best to stick with it then.

Mirrors is, considering Alex' overall attitude, a strange choice of elements.
Hadow does fit for afore mentioned reasons of bringing Alex' closer to her shadow. Also it fits thematically to mirrors: manipulating light.
Makes me think, if we can control the abscence of light, as haph said and generally can refract and reflect light.
Why didn't we work on a big goddamn laser to roast demons with? Really, we'd only need a parabolic reflector on top of our house and do the same we did against the fallen god: collect the stuff and wait. since the light would likely be refracted, because of using the parabolic mirror, we'd use our shadow power to focus the light.
Helllo serious attacking power
>>
>>37655812
We don't manipulate light, we manipulate darkness, we aren't transformed all the time to do that, we had to spend a shadow credit to temporarily change our storage ability so we COULD hold all of that magic, and I don't think parabolic reflectors work like that.

Basically, no, let's not do that, at all.

>>37653047
Well that's a shame.

>>37653089
The Magi are Saeder-Krupp, to the point of being run by a dragon. Scary scary~, though at least they're not Renraku

The only real plan we have regarding wishes that most everyone agrees on is mitigating weird looks and questions we get when we return to school in a few weeks. Amy just offered a solution in wishing for a SEP field, which is a rather simple way of dealing with the problem.

Other ideas that have popped up are the food truck and the traveling shadow club/bus. Almost no one wants to change back into a guy, and one guy keeps wanting to wish for the ability to reverse changes at will, which is an awfully boring and overpowered wish.
>>
>>37656792
>awfully boring
How is variety and freedom boring? Boring is the opposite of what that wish would achieve, the ability to pick and choose changes for situations and fun provides so much that to call it boring is just asinine.

>overpowered
Have you looked around recently? Do the words "Magic I ain't gotta explain shit" ring a bell?

Those are the two stupidest arguments that could be brought to discussing that wish, and no, there is more than just one guy in favor of it, though I'm hoping we get that as an end game final wish before we give up being a MG. Until then I'll just be content to wish away changes we don't like.
>>
>>37656831
No, you are the only guy arguing for it, and the reason why it's boring and overpowered is because the changes are the limiting factor behind the magical girl system, not a bonus: if you overuse your power, you get changed. By allowing you to fuck around and undo/redo changes as you will all of those limitations are removed, and a lot of the things that keep you from doing as you will no longer matters.

Using wishes to remove changes permanently is fine, that's the idea behind getting wishes to turn back into a guy (which honestly I don't see Alex really wanting anyways).
>>
>>37656971
>No, you are the only guy arguing for it
No I'm not, seeing as I'm the anon who just caught up, and theres at least two others who have been for it in the threads I've not been present for, but please, do tell me who I actually am.
>>
>>37656971
To re illustrate my argument, magical girl powers are supposed to be a double edged sword of a sort: you get great power and the ability to alter reality through collecting cores and making wishes, but in return your body and mind start to become changed, more and more until you're no longer the person you once were. If you get the ability to manipulate those changes as you want, all of the drawbacks mean jack shit, and that removes the danger and fun from the game.

That's why some wishes aren't all powerful: recall in Aladdin that wishes had limitations, specifically that you couldn't bring back the dead, you couldn't wish for more wishes, and you can't make anyone fall in love with you.

>>37657000
You realize that means nothing in this thread, right? I can say that you're a paraplegic orangutan from China, and it would be just as believable as you not being the same person from past threads arguing for this wish.
>>
>>37657069
>If you get the ability to manipulate those changes as you want, all of the drawbacks mean jack shit, and that removes the danger and fun from the game.
Only if Hap gave us free reign over them, which would be stupid, it would of course have to be balanced appropriately. Also it does not remove the drawbacks or the danger and fun from the game, only from a metagaming standpoint it does those things.

>and it would be just as believable as you not being the same person from past threads arguing for this wish.
It's a hell of a lot more believable than you 100% knowing every single thing about this quests mechanics and backend as if you were the QM himself.
>>
>>37656971
I am slightly bothered by not knowing what happens when we turn into back into a guy. I mean we could go from magical girl to magical trap at worst, which would be as hilrious as unnerving.
And what would happen to SAlex? Shadow Alex also turning into a guy would throw some screws into our plans of having her as our lazy wife,Kat as pet, beth as our mistress and john as the butler
>>
>>37657119
>her as our lazy wife,Kat as pet, beth as our mistress and john as the butler
nah, switch Beth and SAlex around. also we're not going to wish to turn back into a guy, we like what we've got now, we'll probably keep a couple subtle beneficial changes and make SAlex her own entity permanently, and retire from being a MG and go into business with SAlex, Beth and Kat
>>
>>37657095
>Only if Hap gave us free reign over them, which would be stupid, it would of course have to be balanced appropriately. Also it does not remove the drawbacks or the danger and fun from the game, only from a metagaming standpoint it does those things.
I'm really not sure how to argue this point because it really doesn't make any sense. First, you want the ability to pick and choose changes... but you don't want free reign over it? What does that even mean? You only get to ignore one change a day? Second, I don't know how you would balance the drawback of "using too much power will change you " with "ignore the changes as you like". It's quite literally creating an overpowered character just by the fact of ignoring flaws: you're wanting to be able to spend Shadow Credits as though they were candy, as opposed to when we are in a pinch or we need to do something that is usually not possible (such as the mana battery cannon we used on the goddess), and then ignore changes that we don't like.

>It's a hell of a lot more believable than you 100% knowing every single thing about this quests mechanics and backend as if you were the QM himself.
I'm really not seeing how I'm claiming to know everything about the mechanics of the game. I'm taking everything we know from reading the game and applying it logically.
>>
>>37657095
>>37657395
As the guy who propsed the idea way back when. I'm just going to ask both of you drop it. The wish would logically require a shit ton of cores and would be far in the future at best. right now let's just get normality and a few other things. We have time, and we have more pressing concerns like the table of pain.
>>
>>37657432
But Anoooon, someone on the internet is WRONG!

I don't mind dropping it at all, I've made my points and Lovehazard probably doesn't even know this thread is still alive.

>>
>>37657547

>>
>>37657592
Dude what are you thinking?! TENKA has been off that shit, don't make him relapse!
>>
>>37657598
If we all had a better idea of what to wish for that would probably encourage stockpiling more cores.
>>
>>37657664
True but right now Alex is focusing on being a powerleveler. We need to be tough to get the good stuff.
>>
>>37657706
Sure, maybe we should ask TENKA if he can recommend us for some high tier work.
>>
>>37657664
Like said earlier, the only thing most everyone seems to agree on is some way to make our changes less noticeable to muggles, and we have a couple ways to do it. Amy's SEP Field wish idea is a pretty good one, as it's the simplest of the ideas (people who meet you think your changes are normal) and probably least expensive (the brainwashing everyone into thinking you were always a girl with no shadow would be, in retrospect, very costly, as it would have to have to effect everyone on the planet permanently, not to mention would probably need to be updated with more changes).

Though, I'm wondering if the SEP field has a variable cost. To give an example, some girls have changes that are more easily explained (Kat and Anna just like to wear cosplay and animal ears and tails!) to somewhat more difficult (Alex is always just standing in the light where you don't notice her shadow, or Mary has no presence and no one notices her so it's like she's invisible) to pretty difficult (Amy is really, really, REALLY into cosplay. And makeup. And animatronics (how else would she have those realistic wings?)) to insanely difficult (Jessica is... well you see Jessica... um... Jessica... fuck it).

... I'm actually kind of wondering what exactly about Jessica turned her into a goo girl, if permanent changes are based on a theme.
>>
>>37657798
I think he already has, after all we got our first job from our magus a week in.

TENKA HAS THE CONTRACTING SKILLS OF TEN CATS!
>>
>>37657902
Good points, we might need to ask Tenka about the specifics.
>>
>>37657902
>Alex is always just standing in the light where you don't notice her shadow,
Whatever happened to using our darkness powers to fake a shadow? Does it require concentration and we haven't been bothering?
>>
>>37658048
Right now we need to be mged up for it. We can't cast in normal form....... yet.
>>
>>37658048
That's always a possibility, if we're able to use some measure of magic outside of our transformed form (which is an ability in core Magical Burst rules). The SEP field would make it easier to deal with and not risk the chance of accidental changes, at the cost of a wish.
>>
>>37657902
You know, since she like to get other people stuck in her...

>>37656584
Also the magi have me wondering where exactly they are on the powerscale with granting wishes and giving orders to kill gods...
>>
>>37658059
Ahhh, I see. Wonder if that's a training thing or a wish thing, because I don't think we've ever seen anyone use powers out of MG form.
>>
>>37658117
Training although we could use a wish to get it as well I suppose.

>>37658110
Probably as strong as the high end Mgs if not more so considering the don't wrack up changes. My guess is if they were bomb high end Mg would be low yield tac nukes while mages would be wreck everything high yield Fusion bomb.

>... I'm actually kind of wondering what exactly about Jessica turned her into a goo girl, if permanent changes are based on a theme.

Low self esteem? Think about it, she changed herself into a consumable healing potion. I'm guessing her shadow is a horrible jerk.
>>
>>37658396
I dunno, she seems to be loving being a goo girl. Then again, we haven't had too much interaction with her. She's probably last on the list of girls we'll catch up with, though: she lives furthest away than anyone else.

That's a point. At least it's implied that she has a decent support group, since she has someone handle things for her that she can't do on her own such as handling phones.

She's really into hugging people right and just generally being touchy-feely? Maybe her wanting to melt over people and just be the best hugger made her become liquid.

She wanted to be closer to people, to be able to get inside of them. Her changes made that literal.

Consider the following: The baseline idea of Alex worked around being an avid gamer, so power leveling, or actively hunting and killing demons wouldn't imply workaholic just following her nature as a gamer.

>>37653517
You could also say that about Kat since she too tires out and likes to take naps. If you are going from that point alone.

>>37657095
>Only if Hap gave us free reign over them
How else would that wish work? Because I fail to see any other way.

>>37660025
I wouldn't really call it overpowered, just something I can easily see breaking the quest in general. As it quite literally takes away consequences that you don't want from a single wish. Or rather on a single wish you gain the ability to never have a change you don't want forever down the line.

Even after thinking about it, I have no clue how I would balance it fairly. The other side of that is I could see it ended in arguments over how Alex should actually look.
>>

To expand on that, the only fair way is no bullshit full control over changes as advertised at the start of the quest.

Which would take a lot away from the nature of this quest I feel.
>>
>>37660938
Ouch that sucks. Anything really bad?

As for the wish I figure if you do allow it it'd take a ludicrous amount of cores like hundreds or thousands of them. Kinda one of those you could, but why? wishes.
