With trepidation you press the button that activates the holoprojector, unsure if you're more nervous at what you are about to discover or angry at their chosen means of delivering it to you. The projector emits soft blue light and you see a dwarfed version of the figure that has been watching you. When the figure begins to speak the voice is harsh and electronic, likely to disguise the voice and gender of the speaker.

"Oh... okay it's on. Hello! Wait no that's not right. Greetings. If you're currently watching this that means that I am on Korriban and you've probably noticed me by now. I've sent this to you to inform you that I mean you no harm. I have... uh... been selected to monitor your progress. You may be tempted or have already tried to track me down and confront me... please don't do that! Um... oh yea, so there may or may not be a tall scary woman who miiiight show up looking for me. Don't tell her about me. Please. She's very loud and I don't want to be yelled at. I've been wanting to meet you since I heard about you when I was little, so hopefully we can do that soon. But, uh not yet. I think that's everything. Okay, thank you for listening, bye!"

While the voice and gender of the person who is speaking are unclear they seem timid and nervous. You consider what it is you've just seen but are torn away as you hear your name being called from within the Academy.

You throw the holoprojector into the ground and stomp the fractured remains into scrap metal. You may not know much about who was behind that message but you suspect there are people who do, and you'd rather not take any risks. Once you're satisfied it's beyond salvaging you make your way back into the Academy with Taral in tow.

You find Nivah scurrying around frantically looking for you and she perks up the moment you catch her eye.

"Where were you Master Jorrak's about to start let's go!"

Nivah tugs you onward as you walk, distracted by what you just saw.

"Xanth... are you okay?"

She asks as she realizes your strange behavior.

>>

Yes, like we've been tricked by Loric and how us and Ceal'la did not see shit either
>>
>>37641756
Both us and Cael'la are more likely to withstand a mental assault, but it's not like I'm advocating telling Ceal. Keeping the info to ourself minimizes the chance of it leaking, and if it does we'll know who forced it out of us.
>>
>>37641804
We are far stronger in the force than Nivah.
Force Manipulating us would be harder than making Nivah spill her beans.
>>
>>37641826
I second this
Some information should be contained
>>
Let's just slow down the shadowruns guys. Paranoia is important, but this isn't information that will hurt us if spread.

Even in the worst case scenario where it did get out..it would hurt this mystery person (who we don't yet actually trust to be anything more than a Rodnigger ploy), not us.
>>
>>37641830
>>37641826
We are stronger in brute force
But she understand way better the subtleties
Why did she picked the one wield saber ? because she can wield the Force too
She's not a air brain doll that we drag around
She nearly slit the throat of another student because he talk shit about us behind our back
>>
>>37641826
>Keeping the info to ourself
Keep what to ourself?

They both already know about the potential stalker, that shares our scent and we have a 'feeling' is related to us.

The contents of the holo-message add remarkably little.
>>
>>37641857
>but this isn't information that will hurt us if spread.
I'd disagree strongly.
>>
>>37641850
What "information"? All we know is that they know we know, that they don't want us to try and follow them, and we can kinda suspect that they probably don't really mean us any harm.

Wow, anon, you're right. This is the sort of intel people win wars with.
>>
>>37641857
We don't even understand the information; there is no advantage to sharing it and making it more accessible to potentially hostile forces.

Additionally, healthy skepticism is not shadowrunning; we are much more open and trusting to Nivah than we were at the start of this quest.

"I'm fine, just thinking."

You say with a grimace. Nivah seems to come to her own conclusions about what you're thinking about.

"Don't worry, we'll find out who's spying on you. They can't stay hidden forever."

She says tenderly/

The two of you find yourselves in a room with Master Jorrak's other students and he nods as the two of you enter the room.

"Alright, now that we are all here I will begin. I now have sparred with each of you, I have glimpsed into your strengths and weaknesses as warriors and what each of you has the power to improve. From this point onward you will have a regular schedule for your training and education and your days will be set forward as such. The first day of the week will be your day dedicated to learning about the rich history and many faces of the Sith..."

The particulars of Master Jorrak's long speech numb your mind. What is important that your days will be broken down as: learning about the history of the Sith culture, sparing with Master Jorrak, drills and class focused sparring sessions, sith philosophy and the teachings of the many Sith Lords of the past, advanced Force techniques, then the sixth day is dedicated to military tactics and leadership training. The seventh day is dedicated to recuperation, personal practice and study.

"Now, as your first day sparring against me you are all likely very sore, so you will be given the rest of the afternoon to rest. Tomorrow is your free day, so spend it wisely. On the first of the week your true training begins. You are all dismissed... Xanth, a moment?"

Master Jorrak places his hand on your shoulder biding you stay. Nivah looks at you nervously.

>What do you do?

>Ignore her, address Master Jorrak

>Give her a silent nod and motion for her to leave

Or if you must be a faggot, the tl;dr is that in one of the early arguments over Nivah, someone pointed out she was a tool to be used. "I'll meet you at the cafeteria when I'm done."

Your tone is firm, but not cruel and you give her a curt nod. Now is not the time for affection, there are eyes everywhere. She leaves with a nod in return and you are left alone in the room with Master Jorrak.

"Master Vessa has formally accused you of being involved in the disappearances of Loric and Tharon, two of her apprentices. Now, this is not the same as being accused of responsibility. Tomorrow there will be a tribunal. Master Korr, Master Vessa and myself will all be present to hear your accounts on your relationship with Loric, how well you knew him and where you were when they disappeared. Master Korr will judge the situation and from there we shall proceed."

You swallow hard and consider the implications of what you have been told.

"There's one more thing. Loric's mother will be flying in to watch. Ordinarily this would not be allowed, but as a member of the Dark Council it is her right to do so."

>What do you say?

Jorrak told us himself that Vessa would know if he was lying. This probably doesn't end with us telling a lie and getting away with it.

When we met him we were hunting, and he was leading a group of students that were attacking the top potentials. We spared him, buying into his act of being some helpless no-name. He taught us Sith to earn our trust. Then, on the day we killed him we finally caught him in his lie and called him out on it.

We realized quickly that he meant to kill us, and his calling in Tharon sealed things. It was either kill him, or we would die along with our friends. It took our full effort to beat him, and we eventually managed to overwhelm both and crush them with a boulder.

That was before we sparred with Master Jorrak. If there was any doubt that we had it in us to beat him if lives were on the line, he can attest.
>>
>>37642680
...what the flying fuck are you talking about? That isn't self-incriminating in the slightest.

We are asking what, specifically, she thinks we have done.

>>37642731
Whatever we say, every sentance has to be a technical truth. So nothing overtly false like that. We should be able to spin our words to say we were attacked by the other guy, and he crushed Loric (he was on top of him after all, yeah?)

Inform them we realized just how powerful he truly was, and decided it was a good opportunity to deepen our connection to the force. We don't know why he agreed to assist us, as saving him earlier didn't exactly mean anything anymore, but we were grateful regardless. He still continued to teach us sith, and we trained - hell, he might have wanted underlings or something.

We got along, and then he just vanished. No word, no nothing.

>>
>>37643263

>>
In the end, we really didn't know anything about him. He was with this group of students going around the desert ganking their stronger peers before we teamed up with Cael'la to protect ourselves, and we were planning to use him for krayt bait until he offered to teach us Sith so we could talk to our tuk'ata. Talked to him about what motivates us the morning of, and saw him sneer about our "joy".

So we went our separate ways, and spent the morning training with Nivah and Cael'la.

I agree to this. Although, the problem lies where we explain why or how he vanished. Master Jorrak somehow saw through our lie when it came to Loric's disappearance, so it's safe to say that they could somehow see through our statements. So we gotta be careful.

>>
>>37643357
By play it straight, I meant mix around the facts. Make it to where we learned of his power early on, and things change drastically - we are instead in a position to fear, and we could make it seem like he was our buffer to whatever the name is of the other guy we killed.

Don't regale them with tales of our story, but feed them how we want it to be known.

Your eyes go wide and your throat feels dry as the weight of Master Jorrak's words hits you.

"Did you just say she's a member of the Dark Council?"

You ask, your voice trembling ever so slightly.

"Yes. I would suggest you steady yourself before you are brought before us tomorrow. Master Vessa will prey on your unease, though to be honest I'll likely be knocking my knees together underneath my desk too with her sitting there."

Master Jorrak says with a heavy sigh.

"This is ridiculous. Do you know why she's accusing me of this?"

You ask, your voice taking on an edge.

"Well she and I both saw him returning with you from the Hunting Grounds, and from there you two spent enough time together that people started noticing. You were also seen leaving the Academy together when Loric was last seen. All of this is mostly circumstantial and doesn't prove anything other then you were likely the last to see him. I hope you're either innocent or a have a silver tongue, because if it's found that you had a hand in his death... well I suppose there 'could' be worse fates. You should think about what you're planning to say and eat. I'll see you tomorrow."

Master Jorrak dismisses you and you leave the room, mind whirling.

>>
>>37644196
Given that Loric's mother is part of the Dark Council, she either must've had high hopes for him to either succeed or be washed out. If she had hopes for him to succeed, she would be greatly distressed as a maternal parent. If she had scorned Loric, her mood would either be dismissive or wanting to see who was the one who killed her bastard son. We just need to monitor her mood and emotions. But then again, why would a Dark Council member come to a tribunal about a missing acolyte. Sure the fact that it's her son may justify it, but this is hardly a trial worthy for one, unless she had someone watching us from the start. If the implications from the mystery watcher is right, then the mystery watcher is either a former acolyte and is scared of Master Vessa, or is a 3rd party and is scared of Loric's Mother. And keep in mind, the Mystery watcher has heard about us since we entered the academy.
>>
>>37644310
It's likely you would have fought him eventually even if you hadn't confronted him them, but depending on the circumstances there may have never been an investigation. There were several paths this whole thing with Loric could have taken you down. You guys picked the one with the thorny vines, the dramatic lightning and the big ass foreboding castle in the distance.

How this goes is COMPLETELY up to you guys.

The scary lady who is coming looking for our stalker is Loric's Mother, our stalker is actually our half sister and we are a bastard born out of wedlock and sent to the mines to be "done away with", we came to sith academy, Loric knew this and tried to take us out in case we would find out about our royal blood and use it to try to gain more political influence but first he had to see if we were a threat. Loric was our half brother he lives on IN THIS ARM and Loric's mother is our mother. She is coming along to try to find her missing real kids. Is going to find us in the process. We are going to need to fight more family members to secure our power as we team up with our school friends to take over the empire. Welcome to Code Geass Sith Quest

You sigh softly then speak below your breath.

"I'm in deep shit and I don't know if I can get out. Let me eat and think, when I'm done we all need to speak privately."

The tone of your voice seems to shake Nivah while Cael'la's eyes narrow and harden. Both nod and you stand to get yourself some food. You have an anxious energy about you that you can't seem to dispel as you return. Every obstacle you've faced so far you've been able to charge through or navigate with the right mindset, but this... this is above your pay grade, and it weighs on you like the boulder that killed Loric.

You sit in silence and eat, giving Taral some of your food as he rests his head on your feet. When you've finished you stand and the others follow suit.

We HAVE our story: we met him during the hunt exam under less-than-ideal circumstances, he agreed to teach us Sith to speak with Taral, and the morning he and Tharon disappeared we went our separate ways after leaving the Academy proper. We trained with our friends. We have no idea where Loric ended up going.

None of it is false, none of it really raises suspicion, and it doesn't characterize us as too adversarial towards him.

When he time comes, we can follow a common interview tactic as well: leave information such as what the exact circumstances of our meeting were, so that they'll ask us the follow-up questions we WANT them to ask. In that case, telling them that he was leading a group to go after strong students allows the possibility that he ran afoul of Tharon after we "split up".

It definitely won't be 'roll to see if you're not a dumbass'.
You guys will have to decide on what you say, and depending on how well thought out it is, ect. will determine the DC for your lying (or at least to try and lead them away from the inconvenient truths if you're telling half-truths).
I may give you guys 5 min to put together your own arguments and the one with the most support will win, or I'll throw together four of my own and if a good write in pops up I might use that if it had enough support.

I think it was noted we came back late and looking like we got in a fight. We should mention Tharon - like I said earlier, say we drove him off, and then we went our separate ways. Still technically true, also makes it possible Tharon ambushed Loric later in revenge.

We told Jorrak we were training. We'd also managed to clean up before coming back.

And Jorrak can confirm that we're better than he gave us credit, and that after spending so much time with Nivah she's improved too. So it's totally believable, and if we phrase it as "we went out to train" it's not even untrue.

Facts:
>Loric was with us on the morning of his disappearance. (True)
>Loric went with us out of the academy grounds on the morning of his disappearance. (True)
We went with Loric to our Training spot outside of the academy. (True)
Tharon was stalking us (Xanth and Loric) on the morning of Loric's disappearance. (True)
Tharon ambushed us. (Technically true)
We last saw Loric Fighting Tharon (Technically true)
We came back late due to Tharon's ambush. (Technically true).
Looking at these facts, We now have our alibi. Now all we need to do is pass the segments that require us to tell half-truths.

That include three things that plainly shouldn't be on there. Because he is a terrible liar.

Deception is about drawing suspicion away from the truths you wish to conceal. Giving them information about a "fight" that not only makes them ask more questions, but that contradicts with the lie we told Jarrak, is a potentially fatal mistake.

>>37645934
True, Loric told us himself that Tharon was fucking with him. Whether thats true or not doesnt really matter.
>>
>>37645955
Yep, something like:

Loric was with us on the morning of his disappearance. (True)
Loric went with us out of the academy grounds on the morning of his disappearance. (True)
We went with Loric to our Training spot outside of the academy. (True)
If asked where our training spot, show them the new one. (Technically true)
Tharon was stalking us (Xanth and Loric) on the morning of Loric's disappearance. (True)
We split up with Loric after training was done. (Technically True)

There we go. Leave it at that. Don't bring up the fight, and we have hopefully have only one "technical truth" to sell - and if they push harder, we can show them the spot and answer things about the training session without lying. The fact that Tharon was fucking with Loric is something we can bring up if they ask, but we shouldn't volunteer it.

Such misdirects we can use might be:
Tharon was bullying Loric (True)
We saw Tharon conspiring with Rodrik in the desert (True)

Anyone got any others? I'm not saying we should go out of our way to say these, I'm just saying that if we need to deflect attention and there is an opportunity to subtly use them, we might be able to and should be prepared to.

>>37646288

>>
>>37646295

>>
>>37646048

We saw tharon maybe but no fight. tolerable inclusion. But under no circumstances do we hint at a fight.

Nope. We were out there to train with our friends. We train hard. Master Jorrak knows that we're a damn good fighter, and that Nivah has gotten much better after we took her under our wing.

Mentioning any actual conflict adds complication to the narrative, meaning more room for questions and requiring further clarifications. Which decreases our chances of a clean getaway.

True, Loric told us himself that Tharon was fucking with him. Whether thats true or not doesnt really matter.

My point was that Loric telling us that Tharon bullying him was a truth, and indisputable one, it doesn't matter if he was lying or not, he came to us and said that, and we can say that without any fear of them seeing it as a lie or half truth because it happened.

I'm going to repost that as a write in and retards will vote for it

Alright then, I think this works as Version 2 of the list.

The basic outline of events, all true:

Yes, Loric was an acquaintance of ours. We met him during the hunt exam under less-than-ideal circumstances, and we ended up spending some time together since he agreed to teach us Sith so we could speak with Taral. The morning that they disappeared, we went out early to our spot outside the academy. There was an interruption getting there, but once we arrived we just trained with our friends. We split up with Loric after training was done, and have no idea where he ended up going afterwards.

Those invite a couple specific questions:

-How did we meet, which lets us launch into that story and generally deflect attention. Depending on how things go, we can slip in the conspiracy and that we saw Tharon conspiring with Rodrick in the desert.
-What the interruption was, which lets us very truthfully say that Tharon was shadowing us. Combined with the conspiracy, it nicely deflects attention.
-Who we were training with. It should be obvious, but time spent asking us that is time they don't spend asking other things.

Things to avoid mentioning at all cost:

-Any sort of friction between us and Loric. If asked, say we got along fine - that is accurate in the past tense, we *did* get along fine until he turned out to be a plant.
-The fight, please god don't mention the fight. We don't know what happened to Loric after we split up - also very true. Is he rotting? Are tunneling scavengers eating him? Who knows! He was perfectly fine when we split up (since the "split up" happened the moment we saw his true colors and he was definitely alive then).

Did I miss anything?
>>
>>37646851
>Did I miss anything?
The bullying. Shouldn't volunteer it, but we can bring that up after revealing that Tharon was shadowing us, since they should ask about prior encounters or w/e.
>>

And I'm going to report you for shitposting.

Bless you kind and intelligent sir.

People will tend towards the smart thing when the option presents itself. Anons just get caught up in bandwagoning and trying to use "The rule of cool". When presented with a legitimate option they almost always go for it because they know it's the right way to go.
>>
>>37646851
>>37646895
This, but also like seeing Tharon conspiring with Rodrik, we can slip it in depending on how things go subtly.
>>
>>37646851
Yes
We must not at ALL COST talk about where we were training
>>
>>37646678
I'm referring to the angle in which the finger pointing pose is taken, not thec omparison of the physique between Jotaro and Xanth.
>>37646659
That depends on the judges and their impression of us. We are appealing our case to the following audience:
>Loric's Mother: A member of the Dark Council, her impression of us is unclear and her relationship between her and Loric is unknown although if we closely monitor her mood and behavior throughout the trial, we might get a small impression of how she view us and how she views Loric, her son. From divining her mood and emotions in the trial, she may have a hand in influencing the three Sith Master's Judgement for better or for worse if evidence comes to light of us murdering her son.
>Master Jorrak: The Sith Master whom we are under his direct tutor-ledge, He seems to favor you, however he does not give you any special treatment. His opinion of Master Vessa seems to be one of disgust given his remarks upon the other Sith Master. He may be likely to give us a *slightly* lighter judgement.
>Master Vessa: The Other Sith Master who tutors Cael'la, Rodrik, Loric, and Tharon. Given how she interacts with you however brief, she is likely to be more strict and unforgiving and willing to back up the clause of "the rules are absolute" case if she finds a foothold in our testimony that gives her clause to accuse us of murder.
>Master Korr: Much is very unknown about Master Korr. His views and impressions of us is unknown to us, however our opinion of him tends to be us being intimidated by him. He seems to be neutral in biased judgement and will likely sway to Master Vessa's side if the latter is given purchase in her accusation.
>>
>>37646851
Sounds good enough to me.
>>37646895
The "bullying" may paint him as too much of a weakling to face Tharon. We want them to think the opposite: that his ambition got the better of him, or that Tharon saw him as a threat.
>>
>>37646968
the bullying we could potentially use to deflect them into thinking that he might have tried to take on Tharon after our training

we shouldn't use the bullying to paint him as a pathetic weakling, thats just what Tharon thought, we should use the bullying to direct their attention to Tharon
>>
>>37646851
>>37646939
Also why we change our training spot
In fact anything related to the new or old training spot
>>
>>37645861
What is that from. I don't know why but I find it adorable.
>>
>>37647017
If we are pushed into talking about our training spot we can say its because Tharon was stalking us and Loric.
>>
>>37647017
We changed it because we realized Tharon had been trailing us. Only bring this up at the utter END of need. Otherwise speak nothing of it.
>>
>>37646942
Chibs, Cael'la is under Master Xalia not Vessa. And Rodrik is under Jorrak as well.

Chibs please.
>>

>>37647068
>nb4 our mysterious stalker cleared the site up and disposed of the bodies for us
>>
>>37647017
>Also why we change our training spot
Anon, hopefully we aren't mentioning a change in training spot at all.

I just meant that if they *insist* on seeing where we train, we take them to our new spot. After all, that is where we train, and there is no body to find there.

>>37647068
If they know we changed it, they know the old one...and they have the bodies. So fuck that.
>>
>>37646942
Didn't Master Korr get impressed by us asking for permission for Taral sleeping indoors in Sith?
>>
>>37647123
>>nb4 our mysterious stalker cleared the site up and disposed of the bodies for us
Imouto pls, Aniki needs your help.
>>
>>37647146
Yep, though I think it was more because we asked in Sith.
>>
>>37647073
Thank you for the fact correction, the implied attitude was not needed in the other sentence.
>>37647146
Oh yeah....... should I update my previous post?
>>
>>37647176
yes yes, it's what I meant. But still, my point was that he has a better impression of us than just neutral
>>
>>37647181
Yes.

We go to our bunk to find fresh baked cookies in our bunk
>Nivah get's jealous
>Shakespearean misunderstandings ensue
>>
>>37647050
>>37647068
And if she points out they're both gone now, remind her that they're "missing", and that so far as we knew Tharon knowing meant others could possibly know.

So we wrote it off.
>>
>>37647137
Just covering all the possibilities, since I guess they will not be nonchalant about it
>>

>Master Korr: Much is very unknown about Master Korr. Although he is intimidating to approach, he was mildly impressed in our appeal to give Taric shelter by communicating in Sith. He seems to be neutral in biased judgement as his duty as the headmaster of the Academy. However, from the impression that we have made upon him, his opinion may have him leaning slightly in your favor, but will likely sway to Master Vessa's side if the latter is given purchase in her accusation (given his duties as headmaster)

Mention that, not only did we bring him into our confidence (True) and offer to share our training and support with him,(True), and even tell him the secret of how we drew so strongly on the force (True, we told him we're powered by Joy) but that he was instrumental in recruiting Taral (True) and that we thought he had potential as a Sith Beast Master. (True). Maybe also mention that our little cabal is greatly reduced and weakened with his loss.(True).

Everyone saw that he was our ally. Everyone knows we have enjoyed a great deal of success by building a group of allies. As far as everyone else in the academy is concerned, including the instructors, we had no reason to harm Lorric and every reason to help him.

Did Tharon see our group as a threat to his furtherance in the academy and decide to pick off the newest member? We don't know. We don't know anything about Tharon at all. We're just some podunk former slave from the stix.

>>37647651
I mean obviously she'll make her own judgement on act on them in her own way, but she will not have any direct effect on the tribunal. Other then the pressure she'll cause.

don't fucking say this, at most say we talked about philosophy of the force

No don't

We don't share it with the tribunal, we just admit that he asked how we draw on the force and we shared our methods.
>>
>>37647767
no

Could we talk about how he was a good friend and how we miss him?
>>
>>37647711
Seriously, I'm cutting that bit from the parts of this I'm taking for my "for your consideration" posts in the actual thread of the trial.

Also take in that this is all what Xanths mind is processing while he is eating his fucking dinner. This is some intense planning on his part.

>>37647767
No, because then they'll probably ask what exactly those methods were.
>>
>>37647724
We aren't fluent enough.

...should have taken the more time consuming option.
