"Lass. Lass stay here with the ship. "
"BUT I DON'T WANNA"

"Lass, there's a serious danger up ahead, ye sayin' that ye rather follow me into uncertain danger than stay here with the perfectly secure vessel?"

The pilot looks toward her feet, thinking over what you just told her. She goes to say something but Aligot comes up behind her and grabs her by the tail.
"Come on, lets find a good place to hide while the heroes sort this stuff out."
"O-okay."

Sometimes, Aligot can really step up and be a man when he wants to.

You are Jack Albator, handsome adventurer, valiant defender, and right now you're soaking wet and mighty pissed off. That's because a mere few minutes ago, someone attacked YOUR airship with a might tornado attack meant to either destroy you or seriously inhibit your adventures.

So your new mission is to prove one thing to the world: no one throws tornadoes at you and lives!

To protect your already fragile and frayed airship, you set the whole thing down in a field a few hundred feet away from the scoundrels. Victory is so close that you can practically taste it. You and your all-star hero team of Cody, Yuuki, and you.
Oh right, and Noel, a spunky knight who can also throw tornadoes. She has a bright future ahead of her as part of your crew if she keeps that up.

So now you need to decide what to do with the ship while you attack. As well as how you're going to assault their position. It seems their best defense of t heir camp is "Throw a tornado at anything that gets within a kilometer of their camp." which has been oddly effective.

>All four of you assault the emplacement on the ground!
>Two on the ground, two in the air to act as bait. Preferably someone who can jump down from the airship unharmed.
>Preemptive attack! Get a little closer and throw something of your own at them!

"We all go on the ground!" You proclaim, "Aligot, stay here with the pilot and find a place to hide. "

This shouldn't be too bad, you have the element of surprise and several heroes at your command. Whoever these guys are, they're going to seriously regret crossing you in a few seconds.

"Cody; ye know about any of this here 'emblem magic'?"
"I can't say I do, Jack."

That's right, he didn't get any formal training on how to use magic.
"Alright, yer still the fastest shot here, so I trust ye can work it out."

He nods as your team sets off into the forest. Behind us, Aligot tries to console the rookie pilot as best as he can. Aligot, you're kind of a flake, but sometimes you're okay.

--

Another cutter of air whooshes overhead, splitting the harmony of the tree tops. That attack was no where near as strong as the tornadoes that were being thrown at you earlier, and they were at the wrong altitude to hit your crew going in on the ground.
"What was that?!" Yuuki squeaks.
Cody answers for you, "That was a squall thrown into the air. I've been hearing them throw them around for the last few minutes."

The clearing where their camp is slowly starts to come into view.

And what you see is chaos. The constant wind attacks have thrown and tossed tents and bedding around haphazardly along the treeline. In the center of the camp stands two people, one of them starts to cast a red emblem, while the other is using a blue emblem. Together, they seem to 'grasp' the swirling winds that wrap around them. Then, with a flash of red light, they throw the entire conflagration in a straight line down the pathway leading into camp.

That's the other thing scattered around camp that you didn't notice before; animal balls. There are tons and tons of little, fluffy, dog-like balls.

>They don't see you! Attack!
>Hey, why not throw something at them? (like what?)
>Sneak a little closer, then try something
>Other?

Har! This is perfect! They're busy focusing on the ground team that's trying to assault them from the front. They have no idea we're about to assault them from the rear.
Attacking from two sides, that's the best way to do things after all.

"Let's go!", All four of you break out into a sprint straight across the field toward the bunker they've created in the center out of old crates and cages.

With your heroic speed, getting to the center of the clearing should be pretty easy. In fact, you can already see the whites of their eyes right now. One of them charges up a fire attack, while the other starts charging up what looks like a water attack.

Which you find kind of strange, neither of them are using a green emblem, how are they throwing around tornadoes when neither of them are wind?

Damn your luck, that's when one of them decides to turn her head at just the wrong moment and spot your group closing in on her at breakneck speeds.
You start charging an emblem attack before she even has time to nudge her accomplice.

Without even bothering to charge an attack, she instead stoops over and throws a few cages to the side. She bolts upright holding one cage in hand that has a brown fluffball imprisoned inside of it. She charges a blue glow in her hand, aiming the sapphire glow right at the cage.

"STOP!" She yells as loud as she can, her accomplice breaks his spell and immediately cowers behind her.

>Hah! Fat chance! Throw a wave at her.
>Hey now! No need to get desperate!
>Yuuki, please freeze them into a solid block and we'll worry about it later.
>Use your revolver on her. I doubt she'll see it coming!

Har! She thinks taking a hostage is gonna intimidate you?
She has no idea who she is dealing with!

Quickly you draw your revolver-
But she's just a tad bit faster than you are. The blue beam in her palm slowly starts to stretch and bend toward the prisoner in the cage!

BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM

Before you even register the dire situation that you've escalated, Cody had already drawn his revolver and unloaded all six shots into the glowing woman.

Her only reaction to all six bolts hitting her chest is to catch her breath and pitch backwards, trapping her cowering accomplice beneath her as she tumbles backwards onto the dirt path.

Just before she's able to fall flat on her back, she charges and releases the blue bolt in her hand straight at your crew!

Which is when a turquoise beam intercepts it and turns it into a solid icicle that stops in mid-air. Another beam slices past it and freezes around her arms, like shackles.

You suddenly begin to realize how thankful you are that Yuuki follows you around everywhere.

"Damn it!" The girl yells, "UP! UP! Burn these things offa me!"
Her accomplice only writhes and cries in response.

Then her clothes start to tear, little by little the fabric shatters off and leaves her wearing only a few pieces of cloth as cover.
Suddenly, her hands are more preoccupied with covering herself instead of casting spells or ordering her subordinate around.

"Har! Surrender or I send ye to the depths!"
"Erk!" Is all she can muster in response.

Noel reaches down and picks up the cage she was holding hostage. She shakes it around some as the poor ball inside groans.
"Eyuck, you smell like alcohol." Noel says, dropping the cage.

>"Time to tell me everything ye know. Particularly about a dark-skinned hero."
>"Why ye' here? What is yer purpose?"

"Alright Miss."
Cody steps up, he seems more than a little intimidating when he wants to be.

"You're gonna start talkin' and we're gonna start listenin'." Cody chews on his cigarette.
"Yar, especially if ye want to tell us anythin' about a certain tan-skinned hero."

The man immediately breaks, "OKAY! OKAY! I'LL-"
And the woman lurches backwards and cups her icy bindings around his mouth.
"No! Why the hell should we?! How about you make us a deal to get out, and THEN we start talking!?"

"Oh poor Lass, ye don't know how this works, do ye?"
Without saying anything, you jump right over the barricade and pin her down with your knees.
Furiously, you start to rubrubrubrubrubrubrubrubrubrubrubrub.
"EEK!"

"STOP YUCK, EW! I DON'T KNOW WHERE THOSE HANDS HAVE BEEN!" She screeches while violently trying to struggle out from under your pin.

You grab her ears and roughly tug on them, each time she emits a very high-pitched whine. You scratch at the fuzz and fur that's shedding from her fuzzy bits as quickly as your fingers can manage. Not to mention her tail, which despite her protests, is wildly swaying and shaking.

"I'M GONNA GO BALD, QUIT IT!"
"STOP! OKAY! I'LL TALK! LEAVE SIS ALONE!" The guy yelps.

"Gooood, I knew ye'd see it my way. I was thinkin' I'd have to find someone more persuasive than I am."
"M-More persuasive?!" The girl asks, desperately clinging to her scalp like you're going to steal it or something.

Apparently, these two are just mercenaries. Hired from some far away land to cause chaos and destruction in Biscotti and Gallete in particular. But they weren't given these orders, instead they were told to follow the lead of a certain black haired, tanned skin hero.

Every town they came by on the way, they were instructed to place a magic circle of some kind secretly below each village. In which case they were instructed to escape it and not look back as to what happened to the village next.

Which was going all and well until they came to Biscotti and the person they were traveling with up and vanished.

"That's all n' well." You say to the guy, who is now properly bound up with ropes. "But that doesn't explain sum'thin."
"Eh?!" He says, tinge of fear in his voice.

"Why'd ye suddenly decide to stop here, if yer goal was to move from place to place torching everythin' in yer path?"

"Don't tell him." The big sister says, she's properly bound up too.

"Need I remind ye that you still can't use your hands, while I have these?" you put up your hands and make a clawing motion.

"Uh, UH! A few days ago we were trying to put a circle down at one of the villages when some demon hunter came by and found us out!"
"I hate you, bro." The girl says, with a sigh.

"Har! Where is that demon hunter right now?"
"Uh! You're standing on her cage!"

"Eh?!" Yuuki swoops down and picks up the bent and battered cage with a poor brown fluffball trapped inside. "I guess this one does look familiar, and smells like liquor, too."

The ground team was almost wiped out, but the captain and scouts were able to make it fully-formed and not turned into a hairball. The few mages they brought along start the process of healing everyone so they can get on the road.

One of the knights approaches, judging by his armor he's probably one of the more revered ones around here.
"Sir"
Har! They're addressing you as 'Sir' now!
"We'll take the prisoners from here, and Noel if she wishes to go with us."

"I think I'll fly back, thanks." Noel replies.

"Thanks Lad, But first!"

You stoop over the two bound prisoners, reaching into their pockets.
"Hey HEY! What are you doing!?" The girl screams at you.
"Argh hush up, Just seein' if yer gonna try and smuggle somethin' that'll help ye escape, that's all."

That's what you're doing, yeah.
You fish around in the girls pockets, but find nothing. Then you try the guy's pockets-
And you find an emblem, emblazoned in red.
"Har, what's this?"
"N-NOTHING!" The guy immediately spats.
"It's an emblem, you idiot." The girl replies, "He's still learning how to use his, so he needed it as a focus."

"Yar, and do ye need one to use magic, too?"
"Why don't you untie me and find out?"

You don't think you'll be doing that.
Noel gives her final report to the big important looking knight before you head back to the airship with a brown fluffball in tow.

Today's been productive, and when Camille is back on her feet she may even know how to solve this problem.
Oh right, you almost forgot. You didn't get to pay Camille back for charging all those drinks to your tab. Softly you mold and squeeze the round ball of fluff in your hands. You're sure to stretch it and pull on the surprisingly malleable ball as to make it squeak and groan.

"Jack!? is that you?" Aligot leaps from his cover behind the airship, he was clearly hiding the pilot, who continues to tremble with worry.
"Wh-CAMILLE!?" And Aligot somehow recognizes her immediately.

Without saying anything else, Aligot immediately rushes over and snatches her out of your hand, hugging the small fuzzball tightly.
"Camille.. You've always been such an idiot. Why aren't you more careful with yourself?" He grits his teeth as he hugs her balled form. He only gets a confused groan in response.

You know Aligot, if you acted more like this when she's a human, she may not think you're such a loser.

Wait, should you tell him that?
Nah, forget it.

He puts the fluffball down and starts trying to heal her with magic of his own. Meanwhile, you walk over to the pilot who hasn't left the same crouching position you left her in.
"Ready to fly this thing home?"
"Uh.. UH..."

You'll take that as a 'No', but you welcome the opportunity to expand your airship experience.

--

You're three hundred feet in the air, the wind is wisping through your hair, and you have a ship's wheel in your hand.
Finally, you are living the dream.

"Oohhhhhh." Camille groans again as she tosses up over the side of the airship.
Your crew could use some work, but what crew doesn't?

"Water, Camille?" Aligot pats her back, only slightly helping her sickness.
"..no.. no no no no NO." She shakes her head. "No.. no.."

You gently turn the wheel and feel the pull of the ship as she effortlessly glides through the calming blue sky. This is something that's so surreal to that it feels like it could only be found in a dream. The idea that this is happening in real life is still something that hasn't sunk in yet.
"W-where we goin'?" Camille wearily replies, "And what day is it?"

"No.. seriously Jack. Where are you going?" Camille asks again, composing herself as best as she can.
"Y'know what."

You think about that question for a minute.
"Who knows!?" You laugh, "This is pretty enjoyable, either way."

She slumps down against the mast, "Where did you even get an airship, anyway? Was I gone that long?"
"Yar! Ye can now call me Captain Jack! Ruler of the skies!"

Cody snickers a bit, "You've only been out for about three or so days, Miss."
Camille jolts up when she notices him sitting on the other side of the mast, "Oh! It's you again."
"That it is. Nice to finally meet you. You can just call me 'Cody'."

"Then.. Who is that crying in the corner?"
"That would be the pilot." Cody chomps down on his cigarette.

"Wait." Camille spins to look right at you, "You seriously stole this ship!?"
"Lass, Lass. I didn't steal it. It's just clear the pilot needed a little time off. Consider me 'er replacement!"

"Jack.. Just be careful, I don't want to crash into ANOTHER mountain."
"Aye Lass, it's fine! This is by far the most responsive, agile vessel I've ever laid hands on."

Camille thinks about what you said for a minute.
"..Hey Jack.. Mind if we take a small detour?"
"Small detour? Sure Lass, where did ye have in mind."
"Gallete."

Suddenly, you feel yourself gulping.
"..What for?"
