Give me some plot hooks involving the blacksmith's daughter.

The blacksmith's daughter wants a son, put one in her.
>>
Is sleeping with the bakers daughter.
>>
>>37847758
She requires that the requirements for being a blacksmith be lowered. The name should also be changed to 'POCsmith".
>>
>>37847707
She goes to mine exotic minerals from caverns no one knew was actually inhabited by a Great Wyrm/other dragon and gets trapped.

She should be about the level of the party, being quite a capable fighter, which is why no one thought it was odd. The players should happen upon her fighting or fucking the dragon.

The blacksmith's daughter is possessed by evil dragon-demons, slay the beasts!

The blacksmith's daughter needs to deliver an arm and a leg to a local boy, but needs the raw materials.

The blacksmith's daughter realizes she's been but a tool for the Patriarchy. FREEDOM!
>>

Dare I ask?
>>
>>37847879
I would like to know more about this.
>>
>>37847948
In this setting, "the Patriarchy" is a cabal of evil liches plotting to do generic BBEG things and has nothing to do with Tumblrina SJW bullshit
>>
>>37847958
It's okay. Incest is a meme. It all started when one Anon posted the wrong picture to a thread.

Anon asked many fortnights ago for possible plot hooks for making a Blacksmith-Daughter adventure duo, stuff like feasibility and stuff.

Problem is his OP image was a big burly man violently fucking a tender young girl, presumably the aformentioned daughter.

The OP deleted the thread as soon as he was able and posted the question with a "proper" image, but people do not forge these things, and a legend formed around a blacksmith casually fucking his daughter while forging "sides" was born...

... And died, as no one remembers it apparently.
>>
>>37847948
She takes out a 50,000 gold loan to attend bardic school.

Help her father deal with the loan sharks!
>>
Instead of becoming a blacksmith like her parents she has taken up with the noble girls and is masquerading as a wealthy socialite. The cost of this charade is bleeding her parents dry and they can only hope she marries a rich man soon before she is exposed or they become destitute.
>>
>>37847992
Thats what the patriarchy wants you to think.
>>
>>37848013

>>
She forges you a sword that is enchanted to make you think about her, all the time, and the sword will openly complain if you don't think about her enough.
And don't even think about thinking about that baker's daughter, hero.

Blacksmith's daughter is actually an adopted fire elemental that fell out of the forge.
>>
>Blacksmith is actually incredibly famous, generally regarded the best in his trade
>wanted a son
>got a daughter
>even though the daughter turned out to be a fine smith in her own right, father doesn't respect her as much
>decides that to prove herself better than him, she's going to forge a legendary-level sword made of incredibly rare materials, strong enough that they could break any weapon made by her father
>>
>>37848300

Salamanders are canonically the metalsmiths in the Plane of Fire, and the skill of their craft is legend even beyond that dimension.

The Blacksmith's daughter seems insistent the PCs take a very specific weapon she made in memory of her dead brother.

It turns out that when they were little she killed her brother accidentally and to hide the body she forged the corpse into a weapon. The PCs must get a cleric or necromancer to commune with the spirit of the child in the blade to help absolve the sister's guilt. Once she is able to move forward from that tragedy, the dead son's spirit will remain with the weapon as a decent quasi-magical weapon with the ability to "hone" the blade in a special way (more crit damage, easier crits, more direct damage, can break armor, etc.) once per day.

I figure both of those things will become readily apparent over the course of your time collecting rare materials, the ring and duel are just a formality at that point.

You want her to love and admire you before you're done forging that masterwork blade.

Since my current character is level 10 with a +18 in Craft (Weaponsmith), he could do it with his eyes closed.

Plot hook: The Blacksmith is afraid his daughter won't find a man, he is trying to give her as part of the reward. Luckily for you the blacksmith even had divination made to prove she is still a virgin, though that itself is pretty disconcerting he was willing to go that far to sell you on the idea of taking her. The blacksmith looks strong enough to snap the mages neck by sneezing, and it has become apparent he is half mad with fear she won't get married and just wants to be rid of her at this point.
>>
>>37848952

Virginity doesn't mean much unless her having a lover/being high class comes up, but sure I'd probably take her as a wife.

I mean, everyone gets one sooner or later, might as well pick the capable one.

Is she attractive?

Stories are more delivery than content; the narrative is more important than the story arc that bases it.

Hence the Walking Dead. Even though nothing in it is particularly novel, and the story arc itself is built of only standard parts and of such a way that it is not so much original as just not derivative, the skill and dedication with which those pieces are put together and delivered made it shine. Any lesser skill would have made the half-a-dozen parts that grip you by the soul and squeeze feel trite and unsatisfying, even if they were verbatim identical content.

It also helps that vidya stories are fucking balls, so being a pretty good story by ordinary standards is enough to make you a titan of videogame stories.

The blacksmith's daughter contacts the party while they are staying at the local inn late one night. The young woman is obviously disturbed about something, and asks the party for their assistance. She explains that her father had taken a commission from a traveling priest, although from a sect which she could not identify. The priest desired the symbol of his sect cast in iron, a series of three interlocking triangles with the texture of scales. While odd, as it was an item of jewelry, the smith accepted due to the priest's high payment.

Their agreement was for the priest to have waited in town for the next week while the smith finished his commission, at the same inn in which the party currently resides. After dozens of hours the smith completed a rough version of the pendent, and tried it on.

The daughter soon noticed that her father's behavior began to change. He stopped speaking to her, or eating, and later began sleeping for only a few moments each day, if at all. To her further horror horror, she saw that the pendant had begun to bore its way into her father's chest, the chain from which it hung now taunt, pulling her father's head down. When she went into his workshop like normal the next day to give him food she saw that he had begun crafting dozens of the amulets, and attacked her, attempting to force one onto him. She managed to escape, and trapped her father in his workshop, at which point she traveled to the inn to seek out the now apparently evil priest. She found him absent, but found the party instead.

Blacksmith wanted to make a masterwork item. Blacksmith needs a special something. Blacksmith got hands on tome of ancient evil tomfoolery but can barely read.

Blinded by greed and ambition he attempted to sacrifice his virgin daughter and anoint the anvil with her blood as part of the ancient ritual of Xianblarghry, but now the blacksmith's daughter IS his anvil. After this he was cast into horror and despair over what he had done, he can't bear to work at his forge and anvil because it requires beating her with hammer and molten iron. He's put up a secret notice for adventurers through the local guild and is pretending to have a broken wrist until it gets sorted out. You've got two, maybe three weeks before anyone gets suspicious.

>can telepathically communicate with daughter by touching the anvil with an unclothed body part

You are all dorfs and now have a female sentient anvil that loves being literally pounded day and night.

Old blacksmith is too weak to keep up with his craft and his daughter wants to take the forge over. However chauvinist pigs in the village don't respect her and want to buy anything from her so she contracts you, the adventurers, to bring her magical ore she would prove her skills on shaping. Thus your first quest is to fetch her the ore.

She fucks up, the forge magically explodes, killing several sneering villagers along with her elderly father and local baron holds you and the daughter responsible. Your next quest is to flee the county with the failed smith's daughter in tow

Your third quest is to help her lead a horde of amazon warriors in bikini armor (the largest piece of metal the female smithy is actually capable of forging) in conquest of the land she was exiled from.

>>37868608

>>
>>37847707
The blacksmith's daughter is a better blacksmith than both the blacksmith and his son. The blacksmith, infuriated by this, barred his daughter from working with metal entirely, and of course nobody has been told of this because that shit stays in the family. The party needs a few things made, however, and in the best possible quality-- Sensing the urgency of the matter, the blacksmith's daughter secretly contacts the party and tells them that if they can help her do it behind her father's back, she can forge them ten times the quality that her father can.
>>
>>37868803
I don't really like that idea. It forces you to take a roundabout route, but nothing really happens, and there's not that much of a reward so it doesn't feel too worth it. And all of it rides on the PCs needing the best kind of gear that can be forged, and the blacksmith's daughter managing to secretly contact them, and having her secretly forge them weapons that most players would rather just have forged up front, please, none of the bullshit that isn't really a quest and isn't really adding to the story.
>>
>>37869099
It's a side-quest, it's not a particularly original structure. It hinges on the idea that you're there for the journey rather than the destination, so to speak.
>>
>>37869156
I get what you're saying, but there's no real journey to it beyond helping this girl be sneaky to forge you some stuff.

If it was helping her convince her father to let her work the forge, I'd be okay with that - it'd give the charismatic player a chance to shine, or give a chance for the father to force the party to do a longer sidequest if persuading him doesn't work.
>>
>>37869206
Eh, if the bard asked to try and convince the guy it's not like you'd be forced to say "no", that's just not what the girl's asking you to do. She probably doubts it'd work.
>>
>>37869250
I don't think you're getting me - I'm thinking instead of the girl asking the party, the party somehow learns or hears that she's secretly the better smith but the family is trying to cover it up, and ask the father to let her start working again so she can forge the stuff she needs.
>>
>>37869317
That'd work too, yeah.
>>
A young woman, adopted as though an orphan by a blacksmith, was raised to act as a man when customers came in for goods and services, but acted as a woman when the fire were put out. She'd known that she wasn't the daughter of the blacksmith, but that never bothered either of them. Recently, a letter from a noble family came in, with a few words scrawled hastily.
"She must run for her life, they're on to her."
>>

The father wants you to find and rescue her, but what you don't know is that she was taken captive on purpose so that she can learn the ways of her enemies. They possess a rare metal that only they know how to work (Orcs, perhaps?) and she wanted to get in closer for observation. She knew that merely walking in and knocking on the door was a surefire way to being killed, but if she got captured she could find her way out of the prison and fashion arms and weapons for herself.

When your party arrives, you expect to rescue a damsel in distress. In reality, she's rescuing you.

- The daughter and apprentice of the village blacksmith was killed several years before the PCs arrive. Why have these specific people been killed? What is really good on?

She's demanded that her rather teach her metalworking, and has foregone sleep in order to hone her skills or to slip away in the middle of the night to gaze upon the meteorite. Just what does she plan to do with it?

It's much faster if the picture you're looking for is in a collage. I promise you, put the picture in >>37849072 through google search, you won't get what I got. Isolating the image with a puush screen makes it that much easier for google to find your image.

>Entering the snowbound mountain mining town, a gaggle of concerned townsfolk approach your adventuring party, dressed in their thickest winter gear. They beseech your group for aid, telling you that the blacksmith's daughter is sick and none among them have the skill needed to heal her.

>Passing through town, you can see that each and every house seems to be connected by a network of stone and metal pipes. It seems that the entire town is bundled up against the cold and everyone seems terribly worried for the fate of the blacksmith's daughter.

>All those pipes it seems lead to the unusually large smithy built into the mountainside next to the mines. From deep inside the building, the groans and grumbles and whimpers of a creature in pain can be heard as sickly brown smoke oozes out of every door and window and opening in the building.

>Inside, you find the blacksmith with his arms around the neck of a large adolescent dragon, speaking to it in hushed, reassuring tones. The creature is a mottled grey, shedding scales, wracked with coughs. This dragon is clearly ill, and is just as clearly the "daughter" in need of healing.

Perhaps.

>Your party gets in an epic haggling war with the blacksmith's daughter over the price of a single stupid little item that ends up embroiling the whole town in comedic conflict.

>The magic sword that you've just discovered as part of a dungeon cache is empowered by the soul of a blacksmith's daughter. This makes the sword supernaturally sharp, well-weighted and unbreakable. Unfortunately, the blacksmith's daughter is a loudmouthed, bawdy tomboy who has taken a real shine to you.

>The hulking, musclebound blacksmith's daughter you meet while stopping into town is a better fighter than your fighter, and might make for a good replacement if you can convince her to come along with you.
