Not much at all. We have these supermarkets called "Jumbo" here in chile where you can buy from forks to cars, which I imagine are like your wallmarts, but Ive only really gone to one the one time.

Im more familiar with malls. We have one called ZOFRI where people can sell stuff without paying taxes so as you'd imagine its fuckhuge. Im talking of many, many malls put together, then more super huge malls across the street, for miles. But nothing like a single super huge store except the supermarket

Also, would there BE a superstore in Newhope Michigan? its a small city

Distances mean less for Americans then others. We don't think too much about going 30 miles or up to an hour drive sometimes to shop, especially on a weekend.

Walmarts, super walmarts mostly have food to TV's, mostly clothes. They are not as varied.

A lot of american super stores tend to be more specialized. We have stuff like Microcenter, Fry's electronics. a variety of appliance stoes, big sporting goods stores.

Lowes, Home Depot for home improvement, Bulk stores like Sams Club and Costco.

A smaller township would be used to going to one of the larger ones for big shopping.

American Malls tend to have a lot of clothing and other stuff, less very big items. Cars are often only found on car dealerships, which vary in size.

She goes with Cedric into the station's shooting range, and finds it currently empty. There are only three stalls, with three targets in the far back of the room.

He walks over into the armory with the sergeant's key and takes a good, long hard look at her.

"w-What is it?" -she asks somewhat nervously
"I guess a Glock would be fine..."
"I already have a clock"
"No, it's a brand of gun."
"Weapons have brands?"

She has seen TV ads for soda drinks, cars and other such products. She tries to imagine a tv ad for weapons, and smirks a little as she imagines herself showcasing a crossbow, and trying to pose with it.

"Alright, ammo... there we go. This is the ammuntion, this is the gun. Let's keep them separate for now"
-she nods-

As they go to the shooting stellas, he shows her how to load the weapon, explains about trigger discipline and safety, then aims at the target in the back of the long room.

*BLAM!*BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*

She eeps and covers her ears as he aims and shoots repeatedly until the magazine is empty.

Once that is done, he puts the gun down and clicks on a switch to call the target forth.

It's not bad. You can tell he hit 10 of the 15 bullets on target or pretty close, with 5 being around the middle rings of it.

"Alright, you want to try now?"
"Yes, yes I want to!"
"Then come over and stand here... there you go, now..."

She tries again after he gives her some advice. This time she shoots the whole load, then Cedric gets the target back.

It's... not bad for a first time. She did at least manage to hit the target sheet with all the bullets, and a few even hit the very middle of the target.

"Can I try again?"
"Sure"

This time, she does much better. She still needs practice, but she hit pretty close to diana on every shot.

"That's really good, Elliezabella"
"Hey, I am a experienced hunter, you know!?" -she puffs her cheeks a little bit
"Yes, of course" -he says with a smile
"I am!"
"I know" -he is still smiling- "Now, why don't we go hunt some coffee before starting work? once you've passed a course on weapon safety, the sergeant will give you a weapon to take out"
"...alright. Can we shoot some more later?"
"Sure"

They return the weapon to the armory, lock it again, and return the key to the sergeant, then hop unto the patrol car and start the day.

It is a rather nice, peaceful day. They don't even need to rescue any kittens, so Elliezabella is a bit bored by the time they make it back to the station.

"Fine, but can you pick me up later? I need some kitchen tools."

He drives her to the town's largerst hardware store, a sprawling warehouse with rows and rows of tools and building supplies, from nails to lamps and guidelines for cables, with an adjacent woods and building materials depot.

The parking lot is actually rather small, but they find an empty space and walk together to the entrance.

"This place is pretty big, right? is it a marketplace?"
"It's ... sort of yes? its a single store, however"
"Really!?"

They go in, and sure enough, there's all sort of home accessories, from flower pots and seeds to special nails and tools.

"I thought we should have a look here since you need stuff for the house, right?" -he says

She has to ask him a few times about some of the tools. They definitively look like weapons! the chainsaws definitively look like weapons! the jackhammers definitively look like weapons, and ... well, yeah, hoes can be used as weapons, right?

"Hey, let's get one of these. Father will like it" -she says while holding a small gardening hoe
"Ah, right, your dad is building a green house, right? should we buy some seeds and pots?"

She's completely thinking of the hoe as a weapon, however.

They load a fair amount of clay pots into the cart, and some seeds for kitchen herbs, like oregano.

Once they make it into the kitchen season, they find quite a bit more than they were hoping for. From pipes for the sink, to the sink, to bolts and nuts, fridges, fridge accessories... it is actually rather time consuming to track down a simple knife, but they do eventually find some.

As it turns out, she knows more about knives than he does, and ends up explaining to him about why she prefers blades that are a single long piece with a handle wrapped around the metal blade, than ones with it just welded to the handle or a short length of metal into a soft plastic handle.

After also acquiring a chopping board and a pair of cutesy kitchen gloves, they leave.

Once they have left the pots and seeds on the greenhouse, Ellie runs over to show her father the small hoe she got for him.

The elder swings it a bit, giving it a try, and seems quite happy.

Still, for now he's helping Ellie prepare dinner. She isn't upset about the little cut. Rather, she's really pleased with how sharp her knives are.
