/tg/ - Traditional Games

Disney Villains Victorious is a /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

I don't think. Combination of not being classical everyone knows about it material as well as all the bignames playtesting.

Really someone should focus on making a PDF now.

King: Henry J. Waternoose III.
Henry J. Waternoose III is a fairly personable man in public. He gives the appearance of being a kindly grandfather figure to his employees and he genuinely treats them well unless the disobey his orders and in that behavior are his true colors revealed. In private, he's a cold, calculating mastermind who will do things like torture children and banish people to The Arctic to die, all in the name of Monsters, Inc. He's highly intelligent and even if he gets caught in a physical confrontation, he can fight with those claws. He's very good at throwing his weight around, figuratively and literally. He can be very charming and convincing so beware!
Land: Monsters INC.
Monsters INC is a massive company that runs everything and controls the power supply of he entre Monster World. They even run the educational system where they send out propaganda that has successfully managed to convince everyone that the only thing a monster should ever do is scare. The entire society revolves around scaring and you can't do anything in the Monster World without being part of Monsters INC.They established a new system of power a while ago based on the invention called the Scream Extractor. Now, instead of scaring multiple children per night once, they kidnap one child a night, strap them down in the Scream Extractor and suck all their screams out of them the whole night. Of course, the children are in no state to be returned to their parents after that so they have to "keep" them after it. They've also recently been having problems recently. Specifically, there have been reported several instances of Toys from dolls to action figures to teddy bears fighting their agents off when the monster attempted to kidnap their owners. That said, , Randall Boggs, inventor of the Scream Extractor and heir apparent to CEO of the company, has had some interesting ideas to deal with them.
>>
Rule: We Scare Because We Care.
If you enter the Monster World and you aren't a monster then you're already on watch by Waternoose. If you openly rebel, then prepare for a trip to The Arctic Circle.
>>
>>37942427
I know that but we need one King finished and since I can't help much with the PDF, I thought I might as well hold up the Homeward Front.

Devourer: By spending a Will point, this character may eat any defeated animal of Medium size or higher and regain strikes equal to that animal’s Robustness divided by 3 (rounded up).
Bring the Thunder: Spend one Will point. Drachenbug lights up, charging up with electrical energy. It’s next target is treated as having -3 Prevent Harm while defending and will be Stunned afterwards.

Rundown: The end result of a specialized Cybug being left in a Train Simulator for 24 hours. It will eat anything and everything to regain the calories it loses while moving. They say it’s roar is similar to the tooting of a horn.

I said I was going to stat the Coachman, but I honestly can't think of anything good for him. Any ideas? I don't even know where to start.
>>
>>37957096
I'd imagine him as having similar stats to Dr. Facilier with the high Persuasion and probably with some shadow related stuff given that even The Coach's KLR acknowledges the similarity between him an Facilier by calling him The Shadow Man Of The Old World as opposed to The Shadow Man Of The New World, Falicer. Some shapeshifting wouldn't go amiss either.

36 KB JPG
Name: The Coachman
Role: Charming/Smart
Class: Original Shadow Man
Size: Medium
Species: Human

---Attributes---
Robustness: 14
Agility: 10
Intelligence: 16
Sensibility: 20
Charm: 20
Will: 8
Strikes: 5+3x

---Skills---
Persuade: 16
Intimidate 14
Insight 14
Deceive: 14
Occult: 14
Brawl: 6
Prevent Harm: 6
Endure: 18
Music: 10

---Traits---
-Definitely a Good guy: This villain gains +3 on all attempts to convince others that he is definitely not a villain.
-Cold Hearted Taint: +3 to any checks made to directly take advantage of the poor, the misfortunate, and/or the downtrodden.
-Master of an Island: He can call in his Villains to aid him in a fight if they haven’t been defeated
-KING: This unit is a KING, and gets the appropriate bonuses.

---Powers---
-It’s a Sin: Spend a Will Point and select a character. If the character fails their Endure test (TN varies by severity of sin), transform that character’s species and size to something ironic until The Coachman is beaten. The target obtains the suitable benefits and drawbacks. Automatically fails if the targeted character has not given into their vices while on Pleasure Island.
-Shake My Hand: +6 to any Persuasion and Deceive rolls made as part of a bargain that will utterly screw the other party over.
-Come On Boys, Won't You Shake A Poor Old Sinner's Hand?: Reroll Persuasion and Deceive Rolls in bargains and keep the better result.
-The Main Event: The Coachman may spend a Will Point to make a +8 Persuasion roll that affects anybody that has sinned on his Island. What is the Main Event? Complete carnage. All Pleasure Island patrons who fail the test (including NPCs and Players) are treated as The Coachman’s mind controlled Mooks, Lackeys and Villains until the Shadow Man of the Old World is defeated.

---Equipment---
Red Coachman’s Suit: +2 Prevent Harm, +2 Persuasion
Whip: +2 Melee, +2 Intimidate

Sid should definitely be a military contractor on the level of Obadiah Stane, creating mechanical monstrosities with oversized rockets. Nobody knows where he comes up with these designs, and nobody wants to face one on the battlefield.

Nob wrote this a while back:
Villain: A serious threat; this person has likely been appointed by the King of their Land themselves, and should not be taken lightly. Should probably have a background and their own unique stat block by this point. Most will require a unique way to defeat them. Remember to give them a Class! Robustness: 9/14 Agility: 9/14 Intelligence: 9/14 Sensibility: 9/14 Charm: 12/14 Will: 3 Strikes: 3+2 for every member in the party. Skills: 7 in skills related to their job. 6 in (weapon skill), Prevent Harm, Endure. 5 in all other skills. Traits: Any three, from any list. Powers: Any two, from any list and at least one from the Enemy List. Attributes: This enemy is configured for early On-a-roll heroes. Add up to ten more attribute points to represent higher level On-a-roll enemies and Hero-tier enemies.

Its on the wiki, though no 'enemy list' exists so I guess just make it up as you go, and the stats should probably be increased by one or two each, with the main score based on their class being much higher (15-16)

Kravenn the Hunter
Role: Shapeshifting infiltrator/assassin (Sensible/Nimble)
Country of Origin: Evronian Empire
Size: Medium
Species: Alien (Mutant Evronian)
Tier: On-A-Roll

--Attributes--
Robustness: 8
Agility: 14
Intelligence: 10
Sensibility: 18
Charm: 8
Will: 3/3
Strikes: 6+2X, where X is the number of party members

--Skills--
Athletics: 5
Persuasion: 7
Deceive: 8
Ranged: 6
Brawl: 5
Stealth: 6
Insight: 7
Drive: 5 (Starship, wheeled vehicle)
Travel: 5
Prevent Harm: 7
Endure: 8

--Traits--
Think You Can Hide From Me?: +2 to Insight when attempting to detect people in Stealth. (Alternatively, people trying to hide from you suffer a -2 to their Stealth rolls, whichever works better.)
Fast Learner: +2 to rolls to procure information about local uses and customs.
Would I Ever Lie to You?: +3 Persuasion against characters who consider you an ally.
"I Don't Like Pain When I'm Not the One Dealing It": +2 to Melee, Brawl and Ranged if you have taken a physical strike in the previous turn.
Villain: This unit is a Villain. It gets +2 to Prevent Harm and Endure.

--Powers--
Flawless Impersonator: by spending a Will point Kravenn can perfectly imitate the appearance and voice of any Medium sized humanoid he has seen. This effect lasts indefinitely.
Ambush Predator: Kravenn's body doesn't emit any body heat or scent and appears to have no vital functions, giving him a +4 on stealth roll where this would be relevant or to feign death. However, this could quickly turn in a disadvantage should he be subject to a medical examination while he's disguised...
Favoured Hunter: Cannot be dissuaded from hunting down his target unless the other party spends a Will point.
"This Should Teach You Something About Evronians!": Should he find himself with no strikes left, Kravenn can spend a Will point to immediately attempt an attack with a +8 bonus dealing two base strikes instead of one. Wether successful or not, the use of this
power also inflicts an automatic strike on Kravenn.
>>
>>37971175

--Equipment--
Master-crafted Evrongun: +2 Ranged, NPCs defeated by this weapon are turned into Coolflames.
Genetic Tracker: +5 to Travel and Insight rolls to locate a specific target. Must be activated with a DNA sample.

Rundown: The fruit of one of the evronian military's many super-soldier experiments, this time with the aim of creating the perfect infiltrator. His many successes and the personal commendation of Branch-Chief Gorthan have earned Kravenn a choice spot in the Earth invasion task force.

First attempt at writing a Villain, criticism welcome.

Nice. I haven't read Paperinik, so I'm not sure if this was a real character or a reference to The Chameleon from Spiderman (who is related to that Kraven the Hunter).

Funny enough, I was just about to post my versions of Grid Bug and Terror Bug.
>>
>>37971366
It's a real character alright, tough he appeared only in one of the specials. Almost all the evronian names where either puns or shout outs to famous characters.

Syrup De Heart
Role: Agile/Charming Boss
Size: Medium
Species: Vidya Character

---Attributes---
Robustness: 6/14
Agility: 17/14
Intelligence: 10/14
Sensibility: 10/14
Charm: 17/14
Will: 3
Strikes: 4+2X

---Skills---
Acrobatics: 8
Athletics: 6
Melee: 7
Ranged: 7
Prevent Harm: 6
Endure: 6
Deceit: 8
Persuasion: 8
Intimidate: 6
Driving: 6
Insight: 6

---Traits---
So Sweet It's Diabetic: +2 Persuasion and Deception when speaking sweetly, candy puns not required.
Racing Game Character: +3 Drive during a racing competition.
Don't You Disrespect Me, Little Man!: +3 to Intimidate if the character has taken a Social strike in this Situation.

---Powers---
An Impressive Performance: Spend a will point. Gain a +5 bonus to Acrobatics or Athletics for the rest of the scene and you may use it in the place of Music. Additionally, your movement speed doubles.
Bad Girls Don’t Cry: Syrup may spend a Will Point to start crying. This is a Deceive attack with a +5 bonus. Syrup gets a free attack against anybody who falls for her crocodile tears, and the defender has a -3 Prevent Harm penalty.
MIMIMIMIMIMI: Spend a Will Point. De Heart switches her Charm with Robustness and her Persuasion with her Intimidate, becoming a syrup spewing spider monster. She is treated as an Agile/Robust Boss and may make Ranged attacks that cause Burning.

---Equipment---
Ticket to Ride: +2 Candy Glass Tear Knives (Ranged or Melee).
Sweet Revenge: A confectionary themed go kart. Strangely enough, it’s sweet scent doesn’t attract insects. May or may not be made of real candy.
>>
>>37971411

Rundown: Syrup De Heart is a hidden character found in the console release of Sugar Rush, unlocked after beating Time Attack score on every track. Not wanting a bonus racer to go to waste, King Candy plucked her model and animations from the cutting room floor of the arcade version and ‘upgraded’ it to his new standards. This version of Syrup is notably more eccentric (read: deranged) than her console counterpart, able to bounce between happy go lucky and homicidal with minimal provocation. Loyalty to King Candy is hard wired in Syrup De Heart’s programming, so you would have to go through her to get to him.

The Trojan Bug
Role: Sensible/Charming Boss
Class: Infiltrator
Size: Medium
Species: Computer Virus

---Attributes---
Robustness: 8
Agility: 10
Intelligence: 12
Sensibility: 16
Charm: 14
Will: 3
Strikes: 3+2X

---Skills---
Acrobatics: 7
Athletics: 6

Endure: 6
Stealth: 7
Legerdemain: 8
Deceit: 8
Persuasion: 7
Intimidate: 6
Academics: 6
Science : 6
Insight: 8

---Traits---
Disguised (Program): +2 to Deceive while taking on the form of a nondescript Program.
Glamour Fault: All of Trojan Bug’s disguises have a slight error in them, no matter how subtle. A character who discovers this error becomes immune to Trojan Bug’s Disguised Trait while he is in that specific form.
Flailing Gaijin Style: Spend two actions to make up to (lower of Brawl and Athletics) Brawl attacks. All attacks made this turn suffer a -4 penalty.
Trusssssssssst Me: +2 bonus on Deceive rolls if there target actively distrusts the speaker
Time for Panic: +5 to any roll used to escape a dangerous situation while on one Strike or no Strikes.
>>
>>37971449
---Powers---
Living Swarm: The Trojan Bug may take an action to disassemble his body into hovering pieces. His Strikes are divided among separate body parts, and all attempts to attack him when divided are at a -2 penalty. +2 Brawl, Acrobatics and Legerdemain while Living Swarm is active, but his Disguise is destroyed.
Hostile Takeover: As a Living Swarm, Trojan Bug may consume virtual characters with Brawl and take on their appearance. When disposing of a character this way, he regains a Strike and the Disguised (X) Trait of whoever he consumed with Hostile Takeover.
Ransomware: Spend a Will Point. As a Living Swarm, Trojan Bug gains +3 to grapple a character and +2 Persuasion during hostage negotiation.
Back Door in the System: The Trojan Bug may find holes in a virtual world with Insight, and manipulate his surroundings to his advantage accordingly. Back Door in the System requires appropriate skill tests to use. Examples include making obstacles (Legerdemain) or reprograming hostile Mooks to his side (Deceit).

Rundown: The Trojan Bug is a cybug based computer virus generated by King Candy to both spy on his virtual neighbors in the Grid and cause trouble for them. CLU 2.0 and the MCP would be much closer to internet domination if it wasn’t for Trojan Bug killing important figures and replacing them often. Watch out, this one's slippery.

I had an idea for the SanFran villains, instead of fighting the big bosses of the major factions directly, you fight them in robot battles (Two bots enter one bot leaves).

Bots have Robustness and Nimbleness, two melee weapons and one strike each, the battles are based on the TN system, the TN is equal to the controllers Smarts+Sensibilty however to take a bot out your bots Nimbleness+Brawl+3d6 must exceed the opponents Bots Robustness+endure+ match TN/3

Altough I seem to remember a trait for the Land of the Bear that gave a Stealth bonus. Not sure.

Program LQ-84i
Role: Sensible/Charming Boss
Class: Infiltrator
Size: Medium
Species: Computer Virus

---Attributes---
Robustness: 8
Agility: 10
Intelligence: 12
Sensibility: 16
Charm: 14
Will: 3
Strikes: 3+2X

---Skills---
Acrobatics: 7
Athletics: 6
Brawl: 7
Prevent Harm: 6
Endure: 6
Stealth: 7
Legerdemain: 8
Deceit: 8
Persuasion: 7
Intimidate: 6
Academics: 6
Science : 6
Insight: 8

---Traits---
Disguised (Program): +2 to Deceive while taking on the form of a nondescript Program.
Glamour Fault: All of LQ-84i’s disguises have a slight error in them, no matter how subtle. A character who discovers this error becomes immune to LQ-84i’s Disguised Trait while he is in that specific form.
>>
>>37976185
---Powers---

Living Swarm: The LQ-84i may take an action to disassemble his body into hovering pieces. His Strikes are divided among separate body parts, and all attempts to attack him when divided are at a -2 penalty. +2 Brawl, Acrobatics and Legerdemain while Living Swarm is active, but his Disguise is destroyed.

Hostile Takeover: As a Living Swarm, LQ-84i may consume virtual characters with Brawl and take on their appearance. When disposing of a character this way, he regains a Strike and the Disguised (X) Trait of whoever he consumed with Hostile Takeover.

Ransomware: Spend a Will Point. As a Living Swarm, LQ-84i gains +3 to grapple a character and +2 Persuasion during hostage negotiation.

Back Door in the System: LQ-84i may find holes in a virtual world with Insight, and manipulate his surroundings to his advantage accordingly. Back Door in the System requires appropriate skill tests to use. Examples include making obstacles (Legerdemain) or reprograming hostile Mooks to his side (Deceit).

Rundown: Program LQ-84i is a cybug based computer virus generated by King Candy to both spy on his virtual neighbors in the Grid and cause trouble for them. CLU 2.0 and the MCP would be much closer to internet domination if it wasn’t for LQ-84i killing important figures and replacing them often. Watch out, this one's slippery.

That was my though. My headcanon of that place is that the remaing humans there have a really deep psychological trauma, always watching andhiding for Mor'Du, and hoping never to find him. More or less... instead of living like predators as we do, they would live like prey. I can't possibly imagine how disturbing that would be considering modern technology.

also the cirus villain for Plaesure island is the Ringmaster

>"Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and Ghouls! Step right up! Behind this curtain is a ghastly concoction of Delight! Horror! Fantasy and Terror! Your every wish is our command! Your every whimsical desire brought to life, but I'm warning you, there's always a price..."

>>37976290
What did you think of Syrup De Heart? She's the updated Terror Bug with a new name and backstory.
>>
>>37976354
The idea for Land of the Bear is pretty much that: the Horned King leave it alone because no amount of cauldronborn can kill Mor'du and he can't be arsed to get rid of him personally. The english resistance use it as a base of operations because they'd rather take their chances living in the shadow of the demon-bear than with the screaming dead.
>>
>>37976534
love her, great job with the rundown, I'm assuming Gridbug sent her Data from the company database to him and he made the changes
>>
>>37976513
You know what? OK Kindly is a Pleasure Island Villain now. Considering that everyone has mistaken him for one, it's better that way. Especially when he gets a circus crew.
>>
Do we need any ideas for traits/powers we can give pcs?
>>
>>37976628
He could be The Shadowmans envoy on pleasure island, and the people of the Circus are those who were drawn into his contracts "It's true what I say you know, there a sucker born every century..."
>>
>>37976607
The alternate interpretation is that she was a beta character for the arcade release that was finished for the console version, and King Candy filled in the rest from scratch. Either is acceptable.

>>37976696
Nothing specific comes to mind. How about some Gridlocked traits and powers?

>>37976725
I like this. Going to update his Rundown. Or give him one, if I forgot to earlier.
>"Between two Shadow Men, the only winning move is to play by their rules. Now sign the contract boy, time's a wastin."
>>
>>37976390
Yup. Also the main idea is that his shielded body makes him even better at sneaking around security system, but can become a liability if he is disguised. Even if he looks and sounds exactly like your friend, if the scanner says he has no pulse and no heat signature it doesn't take a genius to get he's not human. That's how they almost unmasked him in the comic at least.
>>
>>37976834
so King Turbug takes he code, mixes with some Licorice, some Corn Syrup and Laffy Taffy, feeds it to a regular cybug, which then melts into sugar gloop, which kind of does the OH!-Ah! thing from Ferngully before forming into Syrup

Natural Weapons: Fanged beak and barbed claws give +2 Brawl.
Don't You Disrespect Me, Little Earthling!: +3 to Intimidate if the character has taken a Social strike in this Situation.
Think You Can Hide from Me?: +2 to Insight when attempting to detect people in Stealth. (Alternatively, people trying to hide from you suffer a -2 to their Stealth rolls, whichever works better.)
Rip and Tear: Your unarmed attacks cause an additional strike for every 8 points over the opponent's defense instead of every 10. Additionally you can re-roll any attempt to break inanimate objects.
Do We Look Like Kin?: Raghor is considered at best a loose cannon by his peers. -5 to all social rolls with high-caste evronians and can't command non-hybrid evronians without the use of the Intimidation skill.
Alpha warrior: +1 combat rolls for every hybrid warrior fighting at Raghor's side.

--Powers--
Frenzied Attack: Spend two actions to make up to (lower of Brawl and Athletics) Brawl attacks. All attacks made this turn suffer a -4 penalty.

The Future of the Evronian Race: Raghor may spend one Will point to remove his faceplate, revealing the true extent of his mutation. He gains a +4 to Intimidation but his social penalty with other evronians is increased to -10. This power also triggers an Intimidation roll against all enemies and non-hybrid evronians in a 30m area.

--Equipment--
Armored Gauntlets with Wrist-Cannons: +2 Brawl and Ranged. An NPC defeated by a range attack with this weapon becomes a Coolflame.
Battle Armor: +2 Prevent Harm.

Rundown: The Science Branch's latest supersoldier project involved splicing a brigade of warriors with the apex predator of planet Ragan. The warriors gained enhanced strength, agility and senses but their minds regressed to a feral, animalistic stage. Their general instead mantained his intellect but developed a dangerous tendency to indipendent tought and a superiority complex the size of an house. Sent to Earth to support the invasion, Raghor and his beasts will have to prove their usefulness to the empire if they don't want to be labeled yet another failure and put under the rug.

The sun wasn’t going to move itself, so Hades hired the Daemon Sisters as his new assistants. If you end up dying, it’s likely these are the twins you’ll be seeing to file your afterlife paperwork. Sorry about that fellas, had to go in and work

>>37976380
Haven't seen it.

>>37976513
I saw that much, and I like where that's going.

>>37976570
Interesting. Never found any mention of an english resistance up there, but I also like this idea.

I was able to cook an idea for a trait while working, but I'm afraid it might go into that guy territory.

"It's quiet..." +1 bonus to all perception
"too quiet..." +3 bonus to perception in the complete absence of ambient noise [Land of the Bear unique]

The thought process is that with Mor'Du being the absolute top predator of the land, every animal that otherwise would be out doing their mating calls or what have you would fall silent when Mor'Du draws near to avoid being noticed and eaten. Sort of the one early warning one would get before the bear rape train rolls in. Thus the natives remaining learned real quick to listen for dead silence and either hide or GTFO of they don't hear anything.

The fear of going into that guy territory lies with the possibility that someone would look for every opportunity to force the GM to establish if there's ambient noise or not, and also what one would count as ambient noise. (only animal noises, all noises including running water, etc.
>>
I'm gonna get some sleep, I'll see what you guys think/lack of opinion in 10 hours, ±2 hours
>>
>>37986751
You can simplify it to +2 Perception in a forest. A flat bonus to a skill is usually saved for Beast characters.
>>
>>37977162
I read that in his voice
>>
>>37986751
Why that guy territory?
>>
>>37986883
I see. I have very little experience with RPG's, so I'm still learning what bonuses/penalties would be appropriate to a given situation. That +2 bonus in a forest might be better, so I'll defer the decision to those who can theorycraft better.

>>37991200
Again, I feel that "that guy" would always force the issue and interpret an area as having no abient noise by default unless stated by the GM. Granted, it's only perception so it might not be that game breaking if abused, but again, very new to RPG's.

The thought process was to have two traits, the first one as a small blanket bonus usable in all situations for someone who may have trained themself to pay attention to a situation, while the LotB unique would be situational enough to warrant a +3 bonus.

>Somebody mentioned giving the Senshi a single suit they share, so that's possible
>Alternately, they could have similar suits with different powers, but doing them individually would take longer
>Mako randomly interrupts battles to give you support or make things worse

Also, can somebody come up with catchy pseudonyms for these characters?
>>
>>37998182
Howabout a Single Suit that changes it's powers depending On who's wearing it?

Also I can see this happening during the fight with Youkai+Microbots (Size: Gigantic)

>"Wait stop! you can't hurt them! they're my friends"
>"You. Are. In. My. Way. MOVE!"
>*thrusts hand towards Mako in a Finger Jab, Microbots following Suit, only for it to be caught by GAMAGOORI when he is't using Bigger than You*
>"HOW DARE YOU ATTACK A STUDENT UNDER MY PROTECTION! SANAGEYAMA! HE'S ALL YOURS" *suplexes the Microbot swarm*

Name: Scimitar of Anubis
Role: Smart/Agile
Class: Sapient Weapon
Country: Agrabah

---Attributes---
Robustness: 0
Agility: 0
Intelligence: 16
Sensibility: 14
Charm: 10
Will: 4
Strikes: 0

---Skills---
Melee: 7
Endure: 6
Persuasion: 5
Deceive: 5
Intimidate: 6
Insight: 6

---Traits---
Dimensional Bypass: Ignore Armor and cover when attacking with Melee, but may not cause Bleeding.
Cursed Sword: Anyone who unsheathes this weapon or attempts to hold the weapon without the sheath must pass an Endure Teat of TN40. Failure puts Anubis in charge of his victim's body, gaining their physical Attributes, Skills (including Melee) and Strikes. Passing the Test means you successfully wield the weapon as your own for the time being. Possession lasts until Anubis is separated from his host.
Animate Inanimate Object: Anubis cannot take actions unless he is possessing another character.
>>
>>38015310
---Powers---
MENACING Laughter: Spend a Will Point to gain +4 to an Intimidate roll, and it affects everyone within 25 meters instead of one target.
Attractive Sword: Anubis may spend a Will Point to roll Persuasion while nobody is holding him in order to acquire another host. This should only be used in desperation; Somebody will pick up a sword discarded in the street eventually, but a sword discarded in the Nile river is another story.
Intelligent Development: Anubis cannot be attacked in the same way twice. Unless the attacker spends a Will Point, any attempt to repeat a strategy that has been used on Anubis once faces a -10 penalty. At the GM’s discretion, he may say this out loud.

---Equipment---
Scimitar of Anubis: +2 Melee and Traits above. For obvious reasons, he cannot wield himself alone.

Rundown: The magnum opus of the blacksmith Serai, who passed away 500 years ago. SInce then, his prized sword has run amok in the Sultanate. Were it not for Jafar taming Anubis with his magic, it would continue to kill without restraint. Now it serves a new master. How does one defeat a foe who only gets smarter as you fight it?

It is good to see everyone hard at work stating up and discussing optional anime and video game cameos while the PDF has not been started and gridlocked is still a very loose, somewhat nonsensical setting. I have the formatting and design abilities of a retarded six year old, or else I'd start making the PDF myself, but I will start writing up the sections and text for it around five with notes for artwork. Posting from my phone at work. Feel free to discuss fluff questions, I'm gonna try to stay on for a bit and there's a LOT of stuff to clear up in gridlocked - not too much in classic though, and I'm quite happy with Europe and North America, which are our most important general areas.
>>
>>38016303
Oh shit it's sverd.
I really liked how you stopped all the Frozen shittery with that like three hour lore explanation of 19th century monarchies and their application.
What's with Japan in gridlocked, fluff-wise? Open question, not just to sverd. Is there a reason for adding all this animu stuff into the game? Little out of the loop.
>>
>>38016457
As far as I can tell and from what would make sense, Japan was for ???? reason attacked alongside the States and for ???? reason the rest of the world/previous heroes of classic (this was never decided either) have decided not to/been unable to help either country. I don't know why people have taken to adding in direct conversions from utterly non-Disney or even disneyesque franchises other than 'I want it in everything!' Please, people. Make reasonable villains that make some bloody sense and don't steal from non-Disney franchises.
>>
>>38015428
I just thought about who was connected to monsoon in the Desperados and the first name which sprang to mind was Bladewolfs original serial number (IF prototype LQ-84i), so I just lopped of the IF Prototype bit and stuck Program on their instead and hey presto Gridbugs Alter-Ego was born
>>
>>38016514
So gridlocked is gonna be restricted mainly to the States and Japan? Should we just hand-wave it with "everywhere else is relatively at peace and thus uninteresting" or it's something like colonial holdings of the main corporations?
>>
>>38016457
>>38016514

Here's what I know:

>Japan and America
Gridlocked is in an alternate universe with only modern/futuristic Disney Properties. The rest of the planet (including Japan, last I checked) is cut off because Zurg is invading and only America had the resources (super tech and super heroes) to fight back.

>the PDF
Sorry, I was under he impression somebody was working on it. No one is? Shit. Sorry.

>All these people statting anime
99% of it was just me. I have been doing adaptions for several reasons.
One, it gives me practice with statting characters in DVV so I can stat important characters right.
Two, it stalled time for the PDF (see above) and its much better to post them than saying "bump" every two hours
Three, Villains are not canon anyway.

>Direct Conversions
Why do you think I was so desperate to rename the Elite Four? A 1:1 adaption would be jarring at best. I try to change what I can and then some. Like now, I'm working on an Yzmic Chimera Jetstream Sam.

Rant over. To clarify, I'm not upset at all. Good to see you again, Sverd. On phone as well.
>>
>>38016971
I was under the impression that those were just speculative reasons. If we are certain on the space invasion explanation it poses a lot of questions - why don't the States just drive them off if Zurg's forces aren't that powerful- if they're about equal, it should be much more prominent in the nation's fluff, as attacks and damages would be frequent and large-scale. It also removes Japan from the equation, which is probably good. If it's an alternate universe and not a continuation on Classic, that removes some issues but the position and motives of Chernobog are now in question - why did he let Zurg become so powerful? Why is there such a relatively light degree of suffering - compare the regimes of Classic's Europe to those in Gridlocked. San Franoyko seems downright plesant. Do people want to remove him entirely? It would remove issues but leave a gaping hole in the fluff, potentially filled by Zurg. Zurg is, however, a much characteristically weaker and less dramatic villain than Cherns.
>>
>>38016971
Speaking of Yzma, I had a Hilarious idea for the fight with her, when she runs out of strikes, the room re-arranger gives out, the players land on a walkway, she hits every potion release valve on the way down and falls into a vat, mutating into a horrible monster, one of these potions turns the drinker into a Pathological liar, just ask for her opinion on Kronks Spinach Puffs once he enters the potion chamber and watch the fireworks
>>
>>38017147
hi sverd
>>
>>38017147
I'm not to sure on San Fransokyo. It really depends on who the King is, but I think that it's like DOR-15's territory in the sense that its nice on the surface but has lots of shit going on behind the scenes. High Yakuza crime rate?

If we remove Zurg, then the corporate kings would be free to fight each other. Maybe we should treat this like the Rumor Mill, with his arrival depending on the campaign and GM.

It would cover Hades' Serpent, Davy Jones' Kraken, Yamato Crab being bribed with food and nudged in the right direction, and Monstro's fuck you attitude about everything.

OK, status update: Because 1d4chan is woefully behind on the progress of new Kings/Villains/Other characters being created, myself and at least one more anon (hopefully more of you will help) have started to compile stat lines into a Google Doc. We're taking as much as we can from the Kings and Villains page on 1d4chan before going back into the threads to look for more. With that being said, so far we've done (from 1d4chan as well as little bits from threads): Pleasure Island, Olympia, the Grand Archdiocese, the Kingdom of the Cauldron, The Shadowlands, Arendelle, The Old West, the Hunnic Empire, The Subjugate of Kaa, the Fae Lands, the Dreamers, the All-Oceans, the Pridelands, the Sultanate of Agrabah, the Royal Colony of Virginia, the Land of the Bear, the Free Creatures, and the Pirate Kings. Still, there is a ton of stuff that still needs to be done. Ideally, a couple of you could start working on Gridlocked stuff, which I'm not as familiar with, but if not, I'll start on it once I'm done with Classic. Here are the links to the 2 google docs:

Other anon here. I won't be able to help out with the drives until late tonight. I can still pitch ideas from my phone.

When I get back, I'll continue to fix up old villain entries to fit the most recent rules.
>>
>>38059155
Hey man, thanks for the help. I might be working until 7, but when I finish working I'm gonna start cranking this stuff out again.
>>
>>38059034
One thing I can see that needs changing is that the Villains need to fit into the actual class roles. All the kings still look okay, but they might need some revising in the future. We'll see after today's playtest goes when they face down Alameda Slim.
>>
>>38059282
I haven't been following the campaign. Could I get a quick summary of recent events before I catch this one?
>>
>>38059470
Like, recent recent events?
So far, the players arrived in the town of Wildrock and dealt with some officially appointed 'lawmen'/bandits, before going out and arresting the actual bandits from their camp out in the desert and rescuing an Apache princess and making a deal with her dying tribe. After returning the criminals for the extremely old and decrepit former sheriff Old Sam (Who is shaping up to be the new King of the Wild West), they went off to go retrieve the ancestral lands for the Apache, driving out one of the Villains for Slim after convincing his Pterodactlyl mount that it wasn't worth the trouble to eat them.

Then, they went to Vegas, because that's where the complaints department is. It took them seven days, and there were quite a few jokes about Doomroads. Upon arriving in town, the heroes ignored several plothooks and went to the Prize Hog Contest that they had bluffed about being in (complete with rapidly forged papers) and entered Boris as the mightiest hog of them all.

Needless to say, they won, though it was a close thing.

Taking that money, the heroes went to a bar where Archer finally failed an Endure check and was forced to acknowledge the existence of magic, resulting in a raid on the local faulty library for information on the "Wizard", Alameda Slim. Then, they proceeded to take the remainder of a cash and go to a casino to go interrogate one of Slim's goons, the owner of the casino Harry Silva. After taking him hostage in a roundabout manner involving breaking into the back room, preaching, and shouting 'fire', they had him escort them to Slim's mansion, whereupon they were ambushed by Rico, the bounty hunter. Now the adventurers have him unconscious but held hostage and halfway to the governor's mansion, and that is the entire chronicle of events minus a lot of detail.

Optional Powers.

Toon antics were common in WFRR and other cartoons, but maybe that magic went away after the world stopped laughing. If you throw in Cats Don't Dance, then toon actors are still around but under represented. Or they were all removed by Judge Doom.

King: Oogie Boogie

Jovial and sardonic, the Oogie Boogie Man is a swaggering loud-mouthed gambler who isn't afraid of cheating. This stitched-up monster is made of thousands of crawling wriggling bugs that add to his grotesque mass, furthering increasing his physical and mental powers. As the new Pumpkin King, having killed Jack after their last encounter, Oogie runs Halloween Town with a strict hand, subjecting his people to a mixture of twisted games and random encounters. His ambitions have grown to control all the Holiday Worlds and then move on to the rest of the world. Oogie is unlikely to engage in a physical confrontation, and should he be cornered, he's never caught without a thousand deadly traps.

Land: Halloween Town

Halloween Town's spooky nature hasn't changed much with the transfer of power from Jack to Oogie Boogie. The Mayor, still a figurehead more than ever, tries to keep the town's spirits up as the weight of Oogie's ambitions to control all of the holiday worlds weighs on them. Many of the townsfolk have been sent out to do horrible things by order of their ghastly new Pumpkin King. The Land itself has twisted to reflect Oogie's mind, a labyrinthine mixture of deadly traps and gambling hall.

Rule: The Oogie Boogie Song

Oogie Boogie is always interested in trespassers in his land, but never so much to leave his comfortable den. Players are more than likely going to be spotted by Lock, Shock, and Barrel before they find any other member of the Halloween Town. The trio's walking bathtub can be spotted from far away, but has been upgraded by Dr. Finklestein's unwilling work to a much faster and more agile device. Escaping them will be hard. Should players cause too much of a disturbance the trio will be set upon them in an attempt to capture them. Should they fail, other members of Halloween Town will pursue them doggedly. Oogie will attempt to use his now well-trapped Halloween Town, as all traps lead to the Oogie Boogie Man's clutches.
>>
>>38094276
>>38094370
I like it, but Halloween would most likely be renamed to Boogie Town or Bug Town in honor of their Bug King and All Bug's Day.

Can you access the holiday towns through doors in forests like in the movie?
>>
>>38088533
Session was cancelled. Too many dates with their girlfriends that they totally have from canada.
>>
>>38094455
Boogie Town sounds good. After Stealing Christmas, the other holidays were made aware of the doors they are now being watched by their inhabitants. However, few of the holidays possess the amount of offensive power as Boogie Town.
>>
>>38094570
What if the forest connecting the holiday worlds (The Hinterlands, according to the wiki) was a self sustaining Dream World?
>>
>>38094805
A Wood Between Worlds? Sounds familiar. Almost like something from the writings of CS Lewis
>>
>>38094805
What do you mean by a Dream World?
>>
>>38095099
Dream Worlds are Lands created by Dreamers (or Dream Kings) that forge their realms from imagination. The Three Dreamers are Christopher Robin, Wendy Darling, and Alice Liddel. Dr. Facilier wants to control the Dreamers so that he can take their Dream Worlds and give them to the Friends for more power.

The Hinterlands would be a Dream World powered by everyone's dreams (as holidays have a long history with civilization) and thus would exist without a single Dreamer to create it.
>>
>>38095193
I feel a sudden desire to see someone stat up Dorothy Gale as a Dreamer...
>>
>>38095193
That sounds perfect. And Oogie Boogie is trying to become more real than just a Dream.
>>
>>38095193
Finally have some free time. I'm gonna write that story about Alice and the EGHC tonight.
>>
We're reaching bump limit. New thread?
>>
>>38095288
Expansions!

>>38095292
As shown by Jack playing Sandy Claws, creatures from the Hinterlands can leave for periods of time. For all we know, Oogie Boogie might want to conquer the rest of the holiday lands and leave it at that.

By sheer coincidence, you responded to the person who requested it. Will wait with anticipation.
