You're bored, I'm bored, let's quest.

You feel your shuttle slow to a crawl as you open your eyes. You look out the porthole and you notice that you've finally arrived at your destination. You look around the empty shuttle and sigh to yourself. You were the only one to have been transferred to this dustball of a planet as soon as you were ready to begin your service to the Emperor. You stand up and stretch a little bit.

"You've arrived at the monastery, sister. Have a good day."

The shuttle pilot says as he tries to hide a yawn. The shuttle bay doors open and you squint a little bit as the dim sunlight touches your eyes. Outside you see three figures. Two are wearing helmets while the lead one has it in her arms. You step outside and she salutes you.

"Ave sister, we are to lead you to your new housing."

>(Salute back) Yes sister!
>(Nod) Thank you for the escort.
>I hope it won't be too dull here...
>Stay silent.

>(Salute back) Yes sister!
>>
>>37960580
You see the sister smile as she shoots a glance at one of the flanking sisters.

"You and I will be getting along just fine, I think."

"Great, another Felicity."

One of the sisters shoulders her bolter and begins to walk towards the hangar door.

"Ignore her, you'll fit in just right."

Felicity walks towards you and puts her hand on her shoulder.

"Welcome to the Order of the Gilded Rose. I am Sister Felicity. These two ladies are Joan and Mori."

Both sisters nod at their names as they keep on walking.

>Nice to meet you.
>What will be my duties while I'm here?
>I'm beat...
>Stay silent.

"Your duties will be to guard and maintain the monastery grounds while you are not either praying or honing your skills as one of the Emperor's elites!"

As the door opens, you hear Joan chuckle a little bit.

"Basically, guard duty until something interesting happens."

>At least I'm in service to the Emperor...
>Oh that's... Interesting...
>I knew that this would be dull...
>Stay Silent.

"That's for sure..."

You take a left into the hallway and you see a few guardsmen sitting outside of a doorway. One of them smiles at you as you pass before going back to reading his small bible. The other one yawns and nods at one of the passing sisters.

"Don't worry, no matter what my sisters may say, it can get pretty exciting around here."

A few moments pass before you are led to a door. One of the sisters opens it up to reveal a very large lounge with barely anyone inside of it. You keep on walking before you reach another set of doors. You suddenly find yourself outside of the building and looking out towards a very empty street with a few people entering and exiting buildings. It looks positively boring.

"Rushel City... Population 2,007,277... And dropping..."

Felicity sounds very said as she talks about the city.

>Looks like a nice place to live.
>Oh... I thought it would be more lively.
>Doesn't look like a lot gets done here.
>Stay silent.

I'll go with this one.
---

Felicity seems to lighten up at you saying this.

"It really is. The people are are very devoted to the Emperor and they take the work given by him seriously."

You guess by seriously she means praying to them or working inside the buildings because you see a few old men dozing off outside of a bar.

You keep on walking until you reach a very complicated looking structure.

"Here we are."

Felicity nods at one of the guards outside of the gate to let them in. The guards open up and allow you inside the compound.

"Welcome to our base. We're not that far from the barracks right now."

You look around the courtyard and see that some sisters are engaging in prayer or talking to one another. Some glance in your direction before going back to their duties.

"Here we are. Head on in."

>Do you need anything before you choose a bunk for me?
>Thank you, sister. I'll choose a bunk for myself.
>Time to hit the hay...
>Stay Silent.

"Oh, you'll be sharing the bunk with one other sister here. We have a lot of space, so feel free to sleep anywhere in the barracks. The sister you'll be sharing your bunk with will be sister Maris."

You open the barrack door to see a sister sitting at the edge of a bunk. Her hair droops over her eyes and she is holding something in her hands.

"She's... Quiet, but kind as well. We will not be needing you for anything right now. Morning sermon is at 0500 before morning practice. Get plenty of sleep before then, okay?"

>Thank you Felicity.
>Then off to bed I suppose...
>Stay Silent.

Felicity nods and salutes you. She closes the door behind you. You turn around to see Maris glancing at you over her shoulder before looking back down to the item in her hands.

>Leave her alone.
>What you got there?

>Stay silent and get some sleep.

"Not another one... Please, Emperor, don't let them take her..."

You get a little closer as you hear her silently sobbing to herself.

"It hurts... It still hurts so much..."

She curls into a ball and hugs her chest.

>Are you well? Do you need help?
>Um... Are you alright?
>Well then, time to forget about this and go to sleep...
>>
>>37962526
>>Um... Are you alright?

I wish, uh I mean no! that's extra heretical!

>>37962526

>>37962558
>>37962571
You reach out to grab her. However, she turns quickly and grabs your hand. In an instant, you find yourself on the ground with the stern face of Maris staring into your eyes.

"If you value your sanity and freedom, speak to no one of this. Do not to the morning sermon tomorrow. If anyone asks, you decided to pray with me in the barracks. There is a sinister plot that envelops the Order of the Gilded Rose, something heretical and alien..."

Maris then lets go of you and begins to weep silently, gripping her chest as she backs up.

"I'm... Sorry... She came out... Did she hurt you?..."

>Who was she?
>Give me answers.
>I'm fine, but stay on your side of the barracks.
>Stay silent.
>>
>>37962709

"She's... She's Sister Sandra..."

Maris is silent for a few moments before turning away from you and laying down.

"Please... Stay here with me tomorrow..."

>Alright... I'll stay.
>No, I'm going to the sermon tomorrow.
>Stay Silent.

>>37963023
>>Alright... I'll stay.

"Thank you..."

Marisa finally falls silent.

You get up from your bunk and begin to remove you armor so that you can sleep comfortably. You head back to your bunk and you lay down.
---
As you open your eyes, you see that the Maris is not in her bunk. Rather, she is in a corner of the room, hiding herself from sight. She looks up to you and beckons you to come to her.

>I'm sorry, but I need to go to morning sermon.
>Fine, I did promise you.

You walk over to Maris and kneel down next to her.

"Pray with me..."

You begin to pray with Maris. After a few minutes of praying, you notice that someone has been watching you two. You look over at Maris, who has been praying diligently. She simply shakes her head and keeps on praying.

>Look at the person watching you.
>Keep on praying.

You slowly glance over at the person watching you to see that another fellow sister is staring at you. Her face bears no expression or life and it would seem that she is simply staring blankly.

"That's what I was talking about. The sermon does things to people..."

Just then, Maris begins to slightly convulse as you feel a hand on your shoulder. Maris turns you towards her.

"This is what I'm talking about. Something is amiss in the order and I doubt that we're going to be allowed to skip sermons for much longer."

>I'm sure it's just the holy spirit of the Emperor speaking to them.
>Then what shall we do?
>Stay silent.

"Take a look at the monastery. That would be a good place to start. If I leave the barracks, the sisters may come after me. This is my... Our sanctuary now. Trust no one."

>Off I go then.

---
You walk out of the barracks and see that many of the sisters are walking out of the monastery and into the courtyard. You see Felicity walk up to you in a cheerful manner.

"Ah, sister, how does the day treat you?"

>Good, I was praying with Maris.

"Oh, I hope you feel better. If you don't feel well, why don't you head over to the medical center?"

She smiles as she talks. However, her smile feel hollow.

"Oh, before I forget, could you tell Maris that she must begin to attend our morning sermons from now on? I fear that the lack of them have begun to cause her to seclude herself from her holy duties. The Abbot can only ignore her actions for so long."

>The Abbot?

"Aye, our leader is The Abbot. He's led our order for almost twelve years now. He's very kind, you won't find kinder man on this planet. Anyways, the medical center is in the monastery in the east wing. After you visit the medical center, please report to me for your duties."

Felicity smiles and begins to walks away. All of a sudden, you feel as though you are alone in the courtyard, even though you are surrounded by sisters. When they smile, you feel as though you're staring at a marionette. The sisters seem empty, almost like some sort of puppet being controlled by a puppeteer.
