It’s not long before Sara Yonsul is knocking at the door downstairs. You whisper your apologies in Rainyas ear and head downstairs, straightening your clothes as you do so. You let sergeant Yonsul in and lead her to one of the private dining rooms “Well?” she asks her eagerness barely masked “did you find out?”

Yeah, where to begin...

You, Ash and Kae invaded Quinns dream to find out the name of the visiting vampire, who you now know to be called the *Walker in the Void* - a name that means nothing to you, but sounds appropriately ominous for an ancient vampire.

However as soon as Ash spoke the name in Quinns dream you were attacked by a very stereotypical vampire with shadow-powers, called the *Emissary of the Oubliette*. Thanks to Kae Ash got away but in your battle with the vampire Quinns mind was damaged, and you had to turn to Baalzamon for help. Part of his *help* included giving you a new shape you can transform into.

What do you want to include in your discussion with Sergeant Yonsul?

>The name (tell her? write it down?)
>Quinn might be different now
>I killed a vampire called the Emissary of the Oubliette
>So Kae might be mad at me, or scared

“I found out the name” you say “but I’m not sure it’s even safe to say it, I’m going to write it down for you, but please don’t say it out loud ok?”

Yonsul nods impatiently “Alright, which vampire is it?”

You had a pen and paper ready for this and you quickly write out the vampires name and show it to the sergeant. Her face goes bleak “ok” she says “yeah, that’s a name I know, well, heard of really.”

“Who is it?” you ask.

“A very powerful, very old vampire” she says “but you knew that already, lets just say this vampire is more of a legend than a person, ok.”

You’re suddenly very glad you didn’t go to the party...

“There’s more” you say “I killed a vampire, he called himself” again you write the name down. Yonsul reads it.

“This” she says “I don’t know if its a name or title” she taps the word *Emissary* “but this” she taps the word *Oubliette* “is a clan name, a clan of vampires that even most other vampires don’t like.”

“Let me guess” you say “They have shadow powers and stuff?”

Yonsul nods “Yeah” she says “they’re big into organised crime, black markets, guns, drugs, you name it. Their biggest weakness is light, specifically sunlight.”

“But most vampires aren’t hurt by sunlight” you say “usually only the older of the True vampires, plus an allergy case now and then.”

“True” says Yonsul “but for the Oubliette, light is always a problem. And this guy” she taps the words *Walker in the Void* “Is the head of the clan, and he’s every bit as nasty as you’d expect.”

You file that bit about light away.

“I also wanted to ask” you say “you hear anything about a chaoswell being turned into a Woldgate?”

Yonsul shakes her head “I’ve heard of them” she says “but I wouldn’t have a clue about how they work, why?”

What do you tell Yonsul

I can't remember, did we want to do something to Garrax since he more or less sent us to mirror guy hoping that we'd kill eachother? Or did we just not really give a fuck?
>>
>>37992014
>hoping that we'd kill eachother
Actually he didn't. He send us there so Mirror guy would confirm him as legit.
Mirror guy only attacked us because he found out Garrax had leverage on the mage in question, which is something he wasn't supposed to know about.
>>
>>37991908

>>37992029
I was under the impression that Garrax knew that mirror guy knew about the leverage and us saying the mage's name was intended to trigger a fight.
>>
>>37992048
King pretty nearly confirmed Garrax didn't know Tom knew aboutt he leverage.
Garrax wanted Mirror guy to sign up for his League of Reunited, the fight wasn't his plan at all.
It was actually bad for him, because it cost him his only potential ally.

Garrax wants to fuck us over, but not like that.

>The Fae go around drawing planets into Oneria, the world of dreams

While we can't completly trust King in this matter, at least we can most likely trust the things he says to be true, even if probably only partial information
>Tom Davis knew this, but Garrax didn’t know that he knew. It was a ploy that Tom would agree to a bargain with Garrax, but it would be a one-sided bargain.”
So Garrax was blindsided by this as much as we were, and he possibly still doesn't know what happened, except that we straight up murdered another Reunited.

“Kae told me about them” you say “she said that there was a chaoswell being created nearby, and that it was going to be turned into a Worldgate soon, a matter of weeks maybe. And that it was part of this world being used as a staging point for a beastmen army or something.”

“Oh fuck no” curses Yonsul “They’re bringing an army of those brutes here?”

“Apparently so” you confirm

“Well this is going to cause problems” says Yonsul “A lot of them”

“Yeah” you say “Kae was pissed off too, you know much about the beastmen?”

“I fought them” says Yonsul, shaking her head in disbelief “A bunch of them are used in riot training – under close supervision of a fae of course, so yeah, I know just how nasty they are.”

“Shit” she curses again “Well, thanks for the heads up Shee, I guess we can start putting in place a few measures to minimise the damage they’ll cause, now that we know.”

As she grumbles to herself you head her off with some new questions “Anything on Garrax? Or Kulrathe?”

“What, oh yes, Garrax, well he’s pretty much a sleazeball, uses his club as a way to launder money from criminal activities, sells drugs in his club, prostitution, seems to be building up a gang using his bouncers as the start, stuff like that.” Says the sergeant, then she adds “Odd though, there’s plenty of evidence that he’s scum, but so far only fines and cautions, never ended up in court, might have allies higher up I think.”

Yeah, really high up...

“S’funny” she continues “There’s nothing on him even six months ago, a few arrests for dealing, petty theft, then he inherits his club from a *distant relative* and suddenly he’s moving up in the world. He has money and tough guys working for him.”
>>
“And Kulrathe” she says “Well with him I have to be careful about, most I have is rumour and hearsay, I don’t want to risk getting into his files. Up until a year ago he was pretty much just a rich boy playing cop. But recently he’s been getting promoted all the time, the cops who work closely to him love him, and he’s a tough bastard, his sparring partners end up injured now and then. Nothing malicious about it – he always apologises, tells everyone he’s sorry, it was his fault, pulls strings to get the guys time off work, but it happens enough that its noticed. There’s a betting pool on right now, the most likely explanation according to the bookies is high-end cybernetics.”

“Yeah cybernetics” you say “There’s a street fighter called Donni who is supposed to be a really expensive cyborg, you know much about him, or street fighting in general?”

The Sergeant looks a little tense “My mother was a fan” she says “Not me, the only contact I have with that sort of thing now is the ones I break up.”

Suddenly her heart rate and breathing have sped up, to your senses she might as well be holding a sign saying *liar*.

>>37992379

Possible, and we should probably assume that until we know better. But sofar we have neither seen nor heard anything of him suggesting any gifts but the Kings.
His style lends itself to Jaggantha too though, so at least thats something we should expect.
>>
>>37992379

>>
>>37992417
Not him, but I guess Baalzi is always possible, since you wouldn't hear anything about someone being a good deceiver, for obvious reasons.
>>
>>37992417
Everything we've heard about him suggests that he has absolutely no problem scumbagging it up and betraying or sacrificing his own dudes.

Nothing overtly screams "BAALZAMON!" with him, but he is supposed to be the more subtle sneaky god so I dunno if it'd really be all that apparent, especially when he is following the others moreso.
>>
>>37992431
>he has absolutely no problem scumbagging it up and betraying or sacrificing his own dudes
We haven't heard anything about betraying other dudes, even if admittely we would likely not hear anything about it if he's good at it, and sacrificing pawns for personal glory and prestige strikes me as something King would not have a problem with.
>>
>>37992428
>>37992431
Fair points. We'd probably have to know him better to catch on. We really need to get magic sight or something analogous to pick these people out.
>>
“How do you fight beastmen?” you ask, recalling the fight you had with the rabbit-person out in the desert, huh feels like an age ago, and he didn’t seem that tough. You add “Not that I’m planning on fighting them, I just sincerely doubt any measures you can take will keep them out of dust town. I'd hate for them to do another *search* there without us being able to ward them off.”

“Kinda sounds like you are planning on fighting them” says the sergeant with a half-smile. Somehow, you think she approves of what she thinks you’re going to do.

“Individually or in small groups you split them up” says the sergeant musingly “They’re used to fighting in groups and rely on each other a lot. They’re big, tough and take a lot of punishment before they go down, they’re also dumb and easily led into ambushes and traps. When you outnumber them it can go one of two ways, they’re cowardly at heart and should flee overwhelming odds but the fae did, I dunno something to them. Sometimes when they get hit enough or scared enough they go into a battle-rage and only killing or crippling them can stop them at that point.”

“Thanks” you say “Any other pointers?”

“Well goblins are small and sneaky” she says “fighting them head-on is easy, but they love to mob people and stab them in the back, the real problems we’ll have in the hive are the ‘thropes.”

“Thropes?” you ask

“Infiltrators” she says “Beastmen with limited shapeshifting powers, just enough to pass as human, smarter than most beastmen but still as savage and cruel. I think they’ll go after the homeless and low-hivers first, murder or abduct them to use later.”

“Kae mentioned some others” you say “Beastaurs and Gorol?”

“Beastaurs are big things with four legs” says the Sergeant “Took a whole riot squad to knock one of those down, and Gorol, we never saw one except in vids, big as a house, too many arms with weird boneswords on them.”

Lovely...
>>
“So street fighting” you say, changing the topic “is that really *all* you know, because it doesn’t seem like it?”

The sergeant gives you a black look “I don’t want to talk about it” she says.

“Please?” you ask “I mean, unless it’s something you can’t tell me about your job or something?”

She sighs “Not it’s not that, look as a teenager I was angry, and dumb, I got into street fighting young, with my strength I quickly made a name for myself, wore a stupid-looking costume too. Eventually I beat the wrong guy, he had a lot of money bet on him by a local crime boss, Marky. He had his boys take me somewhere to kill me” she gets a nostalgic look in her eyes “That was a real fight, three of them went to hospital and one of those had to have his knees and both hands replaced with cybernetics. I would have got Marky himself too, if that sneaky bastard hadn’t shot me and left me for dead. Anyway, cops were tailing him and made sure I’d live to bear witness against him so he’d go away for a long time. Huh, maybe that was when I decided to be a cop.”

She returns from her trip down memory lane “Anyway, don’t tell anyone alright? My records were sealed long ago and no one will believe you.”

“I need to find out info on some street fighters” you say “can you help me?”

“I can” she says, though she gives you a slightly suspicious look “is this to do with Garrax and Kulrathe?”

“Yeah” you say “Garrax mentioned there was a street fighter he’d been talking to, I’m trying to narrow it down.”

“Alright” says Sara “any leads?” You reel off the list of names you’re looking at and she writes them down “some of these I’ve heard of, shouldn’t be too hard, the others might take a day or two.”

“That’s fine” you say, adding idly “so what sort of costume did you wear?”

Sara closes her eyes “I’d rather not say.”

“That bad huh?” you say “Well now I have to know”

“It was a sort of leotard thing” says the sergeant “with a skirt down to here” her hand stops mid-thigh “I was in a rebellious phase ok, I was young.”

You look the sergeant up and down, trying to imagine her in something like that “yeah I just can’t see that on you” you say, adding with a grin “you’ll have to show me some time.”

Sara blushes and glares at you “in your dreams.” She says.

Well, maybe.

Him having us march up to Kulrathe and kill him isn't that much different from the same thing with Garrax.

Uh, no? If we overload it before it's a Worldgate, the explosion happens on our end, Ichor's suggestion to overload it after the army was here is so we could make the explosion happen on the other end. We could go blow it up right now if we wanted to.

It’s time to take a look at the harddrives you stole from the police archives. You let Rainya and Lirael know you’ll be gone for a bit and then you teleport to the facility. You have plenty of hardware to work with, and the computers in the classroom you found have some basic decryption software.

It takes a while but you manage to figure out what sort of program was used to protect these harddrives, thank the Five for police budget limitations. Now you just need to keep running the program until it spits out something useful.

You decide to occupy yourself by picking out which robotics parts and computers you are going to sell and start boxing them up and stacking them.

After a few hours useful information starts to come out. As you were told, these archives hold a lot of information, mostly unimportant stuff, requisition orders, registration numbers, which cops have had sick days, who is at what precinct etc. You start sifting through it. After a few more hours you have the information you were after – you have the names of every police officer involved in the raid on dust town, and the names of all of them in Kulrathes task force. He has over 100 cops assigned to him, and around 80 were involved in the raid. The others were assigned to other duties, though interestingly a few of those on the original raid list where removed citing *temporary health concerns*. Huh, seems there are still some good cops there after all.

Then you remember the hard drive from the basement. Do you want to decrypt it too?

You’re a little concerned exactly what might be on the hard drive the rebels wanted so you take the time to disconnect all the computers you’re using for decrypting from the main facility net and make sure none of them are sending wireless signals, then you try decrypting it.

Fortunately it’s using the same encryption so cracking it isn’t hard, though you need to wait a little before it becomes useful info.

To your surprise, and disappointment there’s not much on here, just pension and benefits details. How many years of service different cops have, medical expenses lists, death in service payouts...and who is listed as beneficiaries in the event of a cops death, including names, dates of birth and addresses.

You know why the rebellion wanted this, and honestly, you feel a little sick. This tells you exactly where to find cops families: wives, husbands, brothers and sisters, parents...and children.

You shudder to imagine what the rebels intend to do with this information if they have it, given their behaviour so far, would you really put it past them to threaten or kill the polices families?

What do you do?

Buying ranks in a power when it would be helpful in a hypothetical situation isn't a credible point?

>>37993023
I never said I doubted it would cause a huge explosion. I said I doubt it could kill us outright.

It has to dedicate a lot of it's power to do the teleportation thing, which likely uses Oneira, the source of chaos magic, instead of the physical world, meaning that the distance traveled shouldn't matter too much.

Teleporting people across galaxies is the easy part anyway, it's once you get close to stars that it gets difficult, but that might be circumventable when traveling through Oneira.

We'd teleport other people away before attempting anything with the chaoswell, regardless of what option we go with.

>>
>>37993230
>you're suggesting dumping 25XP into something to deal with one situation under the asumption that it might help there.
I'm suggesting it because a boost of 130 to our max HP and 65 to all magical defences is pretty damn good in virtually any situation, especially ones involving magic and magic-like abilities. Such as fighting Reunited.
>>
>>37993251
>Such as fighting Reunited.
Only those that actually use magic, and even then its massive overkill against most and leaves us glaring holes in far more likely avenues of attack.
Such as beating us to a pulp.

Or attacking our allies.

Nobody actually wants to fight the Reunited. We're going to get them to all agree to not fight.

Disgusted at the rebellions plans you delete all the data on the hard drive, and then you look around, all computer and robotics labs should have a, ah there you go...the grinding teeth of the recycling unit tear the drive into tiny metal chunks, ready to be melted down and used for something else.

You’re not going after anyone’s family, not even Kulrathes, and if anyone fails to extend you the same courtesy...well, they’ll get what they deserve.

You innards churn and shift, but in a good way, as the Ichor in the Depths offers her favour.

The power of the Ichor of the Depths flows through you, stronger than usual. You know that the Deep Mother holds you in some esteem, and this brings with it certain benefits.

[Ichor of the Depths 10: Family. At Family Rank you will always be offered higher-tier Gifts from the Ichor, or 2 or more ranks in lower tiered Gifts. All XP costs to improve Ichor in the Depths Gifts are reduced by 1 (to a minimum of 1). However rising further in her favour is harder from this point on.]

The Ichor in the Depths offers you 1 of 4 Gifts

Creature of the Deep 2
You can breathe underwater and the cold and pressure of deep water are harmless to you – those from other sources affect you normally. Your unarmed strikes reduce the targets Constitution temporarily, as their lungs fill with water and they drown. Has no effect on enemies with no need to breathe.
At higher levels you gain the ability to telekinetically control water, and transform into water. Optional upgrades include aquatic-themed mutations.
>>
Strength of the Mothers Love 2
You gain strength from the proximity of those you care deeply about. These can be close friends, family you care about, or anyone you want to help and/or protect strongly enough.
The bonuses are limited by the number of those you care about and the number of times you have selected this talent. To be counted as in proximity you must be able to see the person in question or they must be next to you (within 3 metres or so). All bonuses are morale bonuses.
At Strength of the Mothers Love 1: As long as you have one or more of those listed below nearby you gain: a +2 bonus to Will checks to resist any mind-affecting powers or abilities; and a +1 bonus on all skill rolls and ability checks.
At Strength of the Mothers Love 2: As long as you have two or more of those listed below nearby you gain: a +4 bonus to Will checks to resist any mind-affecting powers or abilities; and a +2 bonus on all skill rolls and ability checks.
Higher ranks allow larger bonuses and more varied bonuses as long as more of those you care about are nearby.
Those who currently qualify for the purposes of this power are: Ashley, Lirael, Rainya
This list may change over time.

Wishcrafting 3
At Wishcrafting 2 you can nominate a single psychic power or gift you posses. All willpower rolls when using that Gift or power benefit from a +5 bonus when being used to grant wishes. You can make a Fellowship check against any creature that can see, hear and understand you; if successful the targeted creature must make a wish immediately for something they want. This is a telepathy effect. You can choose to grant this wish or not.
At Wishcrafting 3 you can nominate a further 2 powers or gifts (3 total) to gain the bonus from Wishcrafting 2, and the bonus rises to +10.
>>
Defence of the Mother
Any time an ally within 3 metres of you per point of strength modifier is attacked you may spend 6 psychic energy points to intercept the attack. You leap in the way and smash the attack aside, even energy attacks or magical attacks with physical- or energy-based damage can be blocked with this power (i.e. this power can defend against a magical energy blast, but not Life Drain, for example). You must succeed on a Willpower check to successfully block the attack. Blocked attacks have no effect and by using this power you either move adjacent to your ally, or (If they are within this powers area) the attacker.
This power does not have higher levels.
If you have Strength of the Mothers Love you double the bonus to Will checks granted, when using this power to protect those you care deeply about (listed under Strength of the Mothers Love).

Within you the power of the Ichor sharpens your protective instincts, you feel hyperaware, easily able to notice and respond to any attack that targets your loved ones.

With the hard drives decrypted or destroyed as the case may be, you head back to the Waystation and go upstairs to the strange Realm accessible from the top floor.

You come out of the door onto a tiny island, all around you is ocean and storm, spray hitting your face, the taste of brine on your lips, its smell filling your nostrils.

You need somewhere dry to store things in here you think. Maybe a building on this island? Yeah that sounds good, and the island could be a bit larger too. You sit down and concentrate.

Around you the rocky surface of the island rumbles and cracks, expanding, slowly. Yes that’s good. All around you the island expands, until its maybe 50 metres across, this takes you about 10 minutes. Then you imagine a store, a place you can keep your computer and cybernetics parts you intend to sell, and maybe other stuff too. You focus and imagine what you need.

Out of the ground rises a squat stone structure, a single room building, but roomy, enough to fit a lot of gear inside, wait, you missed the door, there, no wait, that’s just an opening, you meant a *door* that’s better. You get up and look around it, inside it. Ok, not a bad start but its damp inside, it needs to be dry...the walls on the place become slick and smooth, as the damp inside evaporates. Yeah that’ll do it.

Anything else you want to do?

As this is your realm, and bearing in mind your Aspects you can change it however you want. Given that Anons will have different ideas then if *Y* wins you’ll have 15 minutes to discuss what you want to do and I’ll then try to collate the different ideas into voting options.

This is your realm, you can reshape it however you want. It’s currently 100 miles across, but you can expand it.

The bigger the changes you make the longer it will take, and some changes (i.e. expanding the size) will cost XP.

Suggested Changes

Aligned: Your Realm is aligned to one of the Five, or particular psychic or magic powers. The Gifts of the Five or the powers in questions are much easier to use and more powerful in your realm.

Low-Tech Environment: The Realm has a wide variety and amount of low-tech items and weapons. The Realm inhabitants (see below) will have clothes and equipment from any (earth equivalent) historic period from early civilisation (first settlements) to pre-industrialisation. The Realm can have non-powered, non-energy weapons and armour.

Mid-Tech Environment: The Realm has a wide variety and amount of mid-tech items and weapons. The Realm inhabitants (see below) will have clothes and equipment from any (earth equivalent) historic period from early industry (first settlements) to pre-FTL travel. The Realm can have weapons and armour but no energy weapons or force shields.

High-Tech Environment: The Realm has a wide variety and amount of high-tech items and weapons. The Realm inhabitants (see below) will have clothes and equipment equivalent to current galactic standard. The Realm can have weapons and armour of any non-magical type.

A Twist In Time: The Realm doesn’t run to the same timescale as the rest of the galaxy. Changing from one time stream to another isn’t easy however, all those entering or leaving a Realm running at a different rate of time suffer penalties as the characters body acclimatises to the new time, much like changes in pressure.
Costs XP

Physics Be Damned: The Realm does not conform to conventional physics, allowing its denizens to walk on walls, breathe lava, eat clouds or anything else the Realm lord can imagine. The physics of the place must be defined however, having set rules as determined by the Realm lord and they cannot vary by denizen (i.e. ‘this place is a vacuum to everyone but me’ is not allowed). The physical laws can vary by area however (‘water is breathable except in sector 14’ for example, is fine).

Protected: The Realm is possessed of defences. These defences target anyone not a Realm inhabitant that the Realm lord did not personally escort into the Realm. They only target those within the Realm and may be ranged or melee attacks (as the Realm lord desires) and can take almost any form (guardian animals, sentry guns, scything wall blades etc) but must be physical in nature (and so can be destroyed by invaders). These defences cannot damage the Realm lord.
Costs XP

Trapped: The Realm has a variety of non-lethal defences. This functions as the Protected modification but instead of damaging intruders it immobilises them. Intruders are grappled and held until the Realm lord (or someone he has given authority over the defences) orders their release. The taps (entangling vines, fast-setting glue etc) attack once per round. A Realm can have both the Trapped modification and Protected. It is up to the Realm lord whether restrained enemies are attacked by the defences.

>>37993853

>>37993853
Populated: The Realm is populated by creatures designed by the Realm lord. The Realm lord may use any species he knows, designing the inhabitants as he sees fit. The inhabitants of the Realm are merely semi-intelligent collections of magical energy and as such have no free will and are loyal to their creator (though they can be tricked or compelled into acting against him). Realm inhabitants cannot exist outside of the Realm they are created in, losing 10 hit points per round they are outside their Realm, these hit points cannot be restored until the Realm inhabitant is back in his Realm. Realm inhabitants do not need to eat or sleep but do need to breathe. Realm inhabitants age normally and die of old age when their time is up.
Does not cost XP but later modifications to make them fully real do.

You’ll leave large-scale changes for now. First you want to store your gear here for now. You head for the door before pausing, wait, why don’t you just teleport out of here, I mean, if this is your place, your Realm, surely that should be easy, right?

You focus on the psychic research facility, imagining yourself in the classroom next to the stack of boxes you built up, just the same as you would for any teleportation.

The world around you blurs and you’re...high up in the air!

You barely have time to yell in surprise before hitting the surface of the stormy ocean hard, soaking you. Ok that was embarrassing, lucky no one saw that. You look around and see the island with the storage building on it, you’re still in your Realm.

You try again, and again you end up drink. Ok, third time luck-

This time you’re deep underwater, you can see easily, but from the feeling of pressure, and the massive headache you just gained, you’re down pretty deep, is this how teleporting in this place is going to be? Or just trying to get out of it?

You try teleporting back to the building you just made, and you appear next to it without a problem, ok, seems teleporting within this place is easy enough, but teleporting out of it is harder.

Again and again you try, each time you can feel a certain....something escape your grasp, if you push further you just...might...do it!

[Interdimensional Teleport: You can teleport to other dimensions, such as personal Realms, Dreams Realms in Oneira (physically appearing in a persons dream) or other dimensions that you learn of. This costs 20 psychic energy points and applies a -20 penalty to the Willpower check. This power costs 25XP]

Will you learn Interdimensional Teleport now?

>>
You don’t have the time to mess around with this. You make one last jump to the doorway and you go downstairs. You’ll just have to jump from here to the facility a few times and carry the boxes in. You realise that you’re still soaking from all the times you ended up in the sea. With a sigh you head for the bathroom, you need to dry off and change clothes first.

Rainya and Lirael spot you walking past an open door and lean around the doorway.

“Shee?” asks Lirael “Why are you all wet?”

“I decided to go for a swim” you say

“In your clothes?” asks Rainya

“Yes” you say as you head into the bathroom, looking for a towel.

It doesn’t take long to store all of your packaged computers, robots parts and cybernetics parts in your realm, the time was mostly spent putting them all in the boxes.

It’s late afternoon, what do you do now?

Now seems like a perfect time to scout out the chaoswell. You decide to go alone, after all, you’re not planning on fighting anyone, just taking a look.

Kae gave you a rough idea of where it was, so you dress in duster-wraps to protect yourself against the elements and head out.

The mountain range appears around you, high peaks and sharp rocks, a desolate and unforgiving environment. It takes a few jumps around the place but eventually you see what looks like farmland in the distance: a large flat area at a valley bottom. This close to a place where mages are working it’s probably a bad idea to use too many powers. You spend a half hour scrambling down the rocky valley side towards the place.

You haven’t gone far when you see a flare of light, looking closer you can see a column of multi-coloured energy reach up from the middle of the flat area for a few seconds, then disappear, was that...?

As you head closer you can see tiny figures working down there, a number of buildings, and vehicles. The light flare seems to happen every few minutes and the people around the area don’t react to it beyond glancing at it when it goes off, so its probably not that dangerous, you hope.

You reach the flatter area and slow your approach, though still a long way away you might still be noticed, thankfully there’s thick cloud cover this afternoon, plenty of shadows for you to hide in. You try not to think about how they wrap around you as you get close to them, or how comforting it feels.

You stop perhaps a hundred metres away from one of the outer buildings and just watch, with your eyesight you can easily see what’s going on at this distance.
>>
There’s over a hundred people here, maybe 70 or so people digging holes, putting up fences and building walls, another 30 or so wearing full body armour and carrying heavy laser rifles and a half-dozen men without armour standing in a circle perhaps 5 metres across is that the- the huge flare of energy between them confirms that’s the thing, the chaoswell. Even at this distance it grates against your psychic senses, harsh and unpleasant.

Ok, so six mages maybe, thirty soldiers and some bystanders, but no fae that you can see, or sense – though the power of the chaoswell might be blocking it out – you can’t sense the individual mages either.

You watch the workers, the building currently standing look like prefabricated ones – temporary affairs whilst more permanent accommodations are built. Problem is, there’s far more buildings than 100 people would need already here, with these buildings they could easily fit 500 or more. And they’re building more even as you watch. You wonder how long you have before this place is occupied by an army.

What do you do?

You boost your dexterity to make hiding and sneaking easier and you get closer. Listening all the while, you make your way to one of the buildings, looks like its supposed to be a warehouse of some kind, but currently its empty. Still, it provides an excellent base as you listen to the conversations around you.

The builders conversations are fairly boring: how much they hate their jobs, their wives are horrible, did you catch the game last night? Yeah that team sucks. However there are useful bits in there: Apparently the armies advance forces are due to arrive in 4 days – about a thousand or so, and they need to have the first set of buildings completed by then.

What little you can catch from the mages is mostly chanting in an unknown tongue, and admonishments when one of them occasionally gets something you can’t perceive wrong.

The Soldiers voices are muffled by their helmets, but as one passes by you can hear him bitching over the radio to a friend. He hates being stuck out here at the end of nowhere with nothing fun to do and when are they going to get relieved, At least the guys out patrolling the area in their warmechs have something to do, smug bastards. And when was the last time you saw one of those six assholes do any of the camp chores like cooking or digging latrines, fuck mech-pilots, the dickless wimps!

You saw no sign of warmechs on your way in. Of the fae supposedly overseeing the place there is no sign or mention.

>>
How many aspects can Shee have?
>>
>>37995401
I wonder if there is a way to lure a fae into our dream realm.
>>
>>37995405
A favor from the five could easily mean the well collapses in on itself from god shenanigans. No muss no fuss and its done with confusing the hell out of them.

Or we could ask for a smaller favor in which the garrison protecting the target goes insane and attacks itself. That could soften it up enough to win conventionally speaking.

The bigger our request the more they'll want out of it. If we're worried about their price we could ask for a smaller one to help us succeed.
>>
>>37995427
Its the rebellions choice to lay down their lives and have been shown willing to do so for less. Besides if they are willing to kill the innocent familiesof cops, then it might not be that big a loss

Maybe the form is not immune, but its better than nothing. And we need to do something.
>>
You’ve seen enough for today, you make your way stealthily out of the area and back up the valley side, waiting until you are far away before teleporting back to the Waystation. Well, at least now you know what you’re up against, even if the odds do seem quite high.

You can hear Lirael and Rainya playing computer games in the next room. Hah, you wish you could be so carefree right now. Instead you have a small army to prepare to fight.

Luckily we haven't nearly exhausted our options.
Going "That which was before Light" on a entire garrison of soldiers and mages, is quit literally our last option. I'm not even sure if its actually worth it, instead of just arming and organizing the Dusters against the possible beastmen attack.

Ask favour of the five
>>
>>37995464
Ichor seems like the one that would fuck us over the least if we asked her for a big favor.
>>
We just need to stealth our way and stab the Fae and the mages. That should buy enough time to close the chaoswell or disrupt it.

Stop being such a hyperactive idiot. We need to know what exactly we are dealing with before we can know what favour we need the most.
>>
>>37995539
This is a good idea too

I'm tempted to try using our Aspects on it.

Call rebels.

Give them names of guys involved in duster attack. If asked, lie about computer downstairs.

Also let them know we scoutted the well and for some reason in 4 days a big force is arriving.
>>
>>37995574
What exactly would you do?
If we had higher level of Oceanic Dream, I would suggest turning it into a portal into our Realm and swarming everything with our own army, but as it is, there isn't really anything we could do.
Except go the Jagga plan and eat it.

All of my yes

Fuck that. That's the worst idea.

I could think of worse ideas, but that was sort of the point, yes.

Changing to

>>37995592
Corruption Aspect, convert it to be more aligned to our powers in some way. Like a psiwell or something.
>>
>>37995622
and a total badass idea.

>>37995640
I like the way you think
>>
>>37995640
That was the suggestion I made, Corruption would turn it into a portal aligned to us, which would mean leading to our realm.
Not even sure we can do that, but any greater change would definitly need higher Aspect rating. Thats a big well.
>>
>>37995553
What makes you assume we are even capable of getting that exact knowledge?

If we are going to ask for a favour we might as well do it now so we can plan better, instead of doing it all in the last moment when we realize we are not going to get more knowledge and people chickening out because of the risk
>>
>>37995670
for you
>>
>>37995681
We should wait till after date with Kae.
>>
>>37995681
Which they really shouldn't do because any risk asking for a favor might pose is far less, or at least less imediate, than just trying to absorb it's power.
>>
>>37995681
Since we can literally do it at the last moment, I see no problem with trying to get more knowledge.
I might as well ask, what makes you assume any of the Four offer us a acceptable deal? Absolutely fucking nothing, is the answer.
We got four days, better use them.

>>37995682
I don't even know what you are referring to with that.
>>
>>37995714
Why are you pretending those are the only two options?
>>
>>37995705
I can live with that, but I doubt she can tell us much more than she already have.

>>37995715
Better find out now if they have no good deal than rely on it as a plan or backup plan at the location.
>>
>>37995737
Because no one has presented a better alternative.
>>
>>37995775
>Better find out now if they have no good deal than rely on it as a plan or backup plan at the location.
There is a lot of time between those 'now' and 'when we stand right in front of it', your silly hyperbole doesn't make your argument look better.

New thread

So why are we not bothering to tell the rebels shit is going to arrive and go to hell atleast?

If we need their hell, we should give them prep time.
