You are Risa Schrodinger, and everything is awful forever. You are—“Sod off! I demand a redo!” You shout angrily at your brain case. A what? “A redo! I demand it be redone and that’s that.” Or what? “or I’ll cry, and make a right mess of myself and you’ll have to be the one to explain to all the other voices in folk’s heads just why I am making a scene.” You threaten.

You wouldn’t. You feel yourself get all weepy and start to wiggle in a way that others would find unseemly and fine, let me borrow that for a second. You nod as your Fatebreaker vibrates and wiggles oddly and then there is some shuffling around. You feel a sledgehammer get raised, and them smash into something probably super important and—why does everything look like the smell of butter?

Reality crackles and pops, then you feel the razors of infinity tear through your whole body at speeds science fiction writers would call “far-fetched”. A point of light opens up before you and you slam into the cold hard grip of reality. Please wait…

You are Risa Schrodinger, and you are currently bleeding from every orifice. Not because of any weird time thingy, but because you are currently watching Poirot, and Agatha Christie sort of makes you bleed from everywhere. You cough up a phlegmy chunk of coagulated blood, looks like snake venom were mixed in with it what with how thick it is, then you look around. You are back in your shrine, the smooth wood finish of the building around you fills you with a sense of security. You feel sort of strange, then reach into your inventory and pull out a pretty dress, looks like you kept it through the time thing. You leave your room, your wounds hissing with your regeneration, and then climb the tall reconstructed tower of the main building. You slip through the window and see Sin-Fin sitting on her bed. “I got you a dress!” You say and throw the object at her face.

The hanger catches her in the head and she tumbles over making strange complaining sounds in a perfect monotone as you turn on your heel and giggle like a giddy schoolgirl in springtime. You are the best at delivering gifts. “So this is all fixed then?” You wonder. “No lasting damage?”

Just try not to, you know, get near anything yellow for a while. “Yellows are jerks.” You agree and look around then nod. “May as well go make sure Azzy isn’t unhappy because I crave validation from others.” You explain your character to no one in particular before sonidoing off.

You throw open the door to her club and then rush into the backroom. There on her soda is Asmodeus, and standing in the middle of the room is a boy with orange hair. You ignore orange hair and point at Asmodeus. “Azzy! Where is Yuuki guy?” You ask.

She blinks. “On a… picnic?” She offers.

Good. Life is good. Unlife. You look at the orange haired guy and get close to him. “Now who is this guy then? Huh?” You demand making your best intimidating face, because you are not good at sharing attention.

He shivers and twitches, and you note he looks quite young. Maybe Plant-Bro’s age? “Risa, I wouldn’t get to close to him he’s—“ She starts, but it is too late.

He explodes, a pillar of concussive flame taking him and catching you in the shockwave. You skip off the ground, then slam into the wall leaving a red splatter on both of them. You peel off the wall, then hit the ground with a squishy splat. You lay there, your body hissing as your regeneration asks, seriously chick, the fuck? Then you laugh and wiggle your arms and legs about. You heal enough and hop up and look at Asmodeus and the pile of ash excitedly. “He just got fucked up he did!” You say. “Hey that was fun! Like a roller coaster!”

Something twitches in the ashes, and you see the boy climb out of the massive pile, looking slightly younger. “Oh dear,” Asmodeus sighs, “I thought you were doing much better.”

“Who is this bloke then?” You ask as your tails swish behind you.

“An associate. The Phoenix he is called. Poor dear has an, what do they call them now, anxiety disorder?” She says.

“I wouldn’t know. I was born in a time where we just beat our kids till they stopped this mental illness nonsense.” You reply before looking at his naked anxious form.

“P—Please don’t get too close to me.” He says.

You grab a cushion with your tail, then walk over to him. “So you get a bit touchy then you go pop? You ask. You smile then get in close and whisper “Rising cost of health care.”

He explodes, and you ride on the cushion through the room bouncing about like a pinball. You laugh wildly, and your body vibrates as the red/pink room is bathed in an orange light. You land, then run over to his reformed body. “College Loan Debt.” You say and again he explodes.

You laugh, and bounce as happy as a cat in sunshine while Asmodeus gives a smile under her glowing shield. “Risa, that’s a bit risky isn’t it?” She wonders.

“Shush! I will never regret these actions!” You say running back over when you land. “Intimacy.” You get rocketed through the room, but the door gives and you crash into a glass table getting your body, and snack pouch, riddled with broken glass. “I regret all of those actions and immediately wish that they didn’t happen! Monologue!” You shout. Nah, if I smash the computer again things will get weird.

You patch yourself back up and enter the room just as The Phoenix puts on some clothes. “So what is he doing here?” You ask.

“Well, I believe he has a way for you to get into the Japanese underworld.” She explains.

“Really?!” You shout and look over at him.

She shivers and nods, then shrinks back, and you smell the faintest hint of explosion. “No! Do not explode! This is not a situation that warrants exploding!” You command.

“I am a—aware of, no, acquainted with afterlives? No, that doesn’t make sense. Don’t be mad, it’s just what I feel. I know, no you feel bad I know. That’s bad right?” He asks.

This explosion is also fun, but you pretend it was bad because you are worried he is going to explode Azzy’s club too much. You walk over to her and look at her wryly. “You found this bloke?” You wonder.

“Well, a lot of things happen when you have a long life. I just sort of remembered him is all.” She offers cryptically.

Well, should we consider this offer?

But only if Azzy comes. The entire reason we wanted to hunt Izanami down was because she said she wanted to talk to her. Also, Sin Fin might like talking to a fellow mother of humanity. We can ask about Hellfire stuff during this.

Remember guys, we do NOT want to kill and eat Izanami, we want her and Sin-Fin to be friends.

Honestly, when we think and try to plan, everything goes terribly. Let's just take it one post at a time.
>>
>>38048551
For starters, don't run away from her, I think that might make her freak out from when her husband did that.

Also make it very clear that we're not alive? It might not be a good idea to bring Asmodeus along in that case.

“Sure, sounds like a gas. Could pick up Sin-Fin and have a regular shindig with it.” You say.

“Why do the first wives always get the shit end of the stick in myths?” Asmodeus wonders.

“Racism.” You say, not totally aware of what that word means.

Before they are able to call you out on your admittedly limited vocabulary you sonido off to grab Sin-Fin. You kick in her window, wrap her in your tails, then sonido back to the club, hopeful that they have forgotten all about how bad you are at words. “Sexism.” Asmodeus says as you walk back in. “The word you were looking for was sexism.”

Damn it. “Right, that one. So, how does this work? Do we have to go through sacred trials? Maybe assemble a magical rod?” You ask.

“We will go to the cave, and he will open the door.” Asmodeus explains.

Far less interesting. “Can we maybe make a little ritual about it?” You ask.

“Oh fine. Bring your offerings of tribute to The Phoenix and he shall judge if you are worthy.” Asmodeus demands.

You kick over a table and tip the chair. “Another fetch quest? This game is bullshit!” You say, then run off to the store.

You grab bottles of glue, some glitter, cardboard construction paper, googly eyes(Not for the ritual, you just really like them), and a large helping of candy. You pay for the items, because you are not a filthy communist, and then rush after Asmodeus with Sin-Fin still in your tails. You ignore the screams of panic and confusion in your wake, because what to little people matter, and head towards the gate to the afterlife. Concrete paths give way to a lush forest, and you quickly find yourself flying towards a mountainous area. You stop in front of a large cliff, the abandoned base of Mendel still showing traces of having existed. There The Phoenix is tracing figures on the massive stone, and you pull out the TaRDiS model you made out of the materials, then put it on a mound of candy in front of him. “Here Phoenix! May you be ever in good health.” You say.

He looks at you, then at the pile, then over at Asmodeus who hasn’t really changed facial expressions and then nods. “O—Okay. I’ll do my best.” He says.

You amuse yourself by gluing googly eyes all over the remains of the base, and then start on the forest itself. You grab a wild raccoon thing and are covering it in googly eyes, the creature hissing and biting at your energy enhanced skin, when suddenly you smell a strange rush of energy. You throw the eye monster, now the lord and king of this forest you decide, back into the wild before rushing over to the gate. There is a hole in reality, and you note the Phoenix is straining to push open the hole wider than you think totally necessary, and feel reality start to buckle under how very wide he is lewding her. “Is this what lewd is?” You ask. Maybe.

“It should be big enough now.” The Phoenix guesses.

“How big do you think we are?” You ask.

“Sorry, that’s my fault.” Asmodeus smiles.

You sonido over to Asmodeus and lift her shirt. You see her flat stomach and feel your brain start to fry from the radiating pressure pooling off of her. You give it a testing pat, and then collapse into a drooling vibrating pile as the sensation of her skin, like the taste of the sound of the first dawn basking over your naked body, rips your mind to pieces then puts it back together. Yeah, that’s some good Azzy. You push yourself up and point at her. “You callin’ my mate fat? I’ll box yer ears in, swear on me mum.”

The Phoenix looks like he is about to cry, or explode, so Asmodeus just shushes you. Your group goes into the dark world below the surface, and you go on a pleasant stroll into the darkness of the world below. The sound of Asmodeus’ cane echoes off the sloped walls, and after some time you find yourself once more in the gloomy world of the dead. It is quiet, dead quiet, and you are not totally certain where what’s her face is. How should we go about finding her?

You decide to make a proper git of yourself. You fly around and start singing football chants, throw glitter just everywhere, and even do a proper little call directly appealing to her godness stuff. Finally your nose detects the cloying scent of death, the putrid rot of a massive corpse. You land on the ground and look around the thick fog of the other world. You narrow your gaze and feel like one of those dames in the zombie flicks. You are unsure what to do, and wonder if maybe you should have gotten some tributes for her too, when a massive skeletal hand shoots out of the fog. It grips you tight and you feel the cold roots of death rip through your body. The massive skeletal form of Izanami, the mother of Japan rises out of the fog like some horrid mix between a giant, a snake, a millipede, and a human. The twisted skull of her pokes through the fog and you can feel her rage. “YOU WALK HERE! YOU RETURN!” She shouts. She remembers you!

“Shove off ya bint!” You say on reflex, and slam your free tail into her skull. She doesn’t die, because she is already dead, then she slams you into the floor.

“Well now.” Asmodeus sighs. “Hello there, I was wondering if you might—“ Asmodeus starts.

“I will kill you and your whore friend! As I swore he—“ She starts and Asmodeus makes an annoyed face.

She holds her cane a certain way, then in a position that reminds you of a billiards player, she slams the cane into the monster’s skull. She rockets back and you see Asmodeus look annoyed. “Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?” She asks rhetorically.

“You charge your body with lasers and—“ No, that’s my job. You charge your body with lasers and step forward. “Relax love, we ain’t alive so it’s cool for us to be in here.” You say.

Her eyes flash like amethysts, we should steal those, and you see several of the arms swing out wide. Dark energy from the various souls lost in the fog fill her hands and black orbs of life rending energy twist and shape into something you are pretty sure will explode. You decide to use your most diplomatic solution.

You chuck Sin-Fin at her. “Go Sin-Fin!” You command, like she is that one thing from the animal fighting game you have. You have too many games, you need to act like a grown up.

The sad looking woman flies through the air in a stiff kneeling position. She maintains that posture with a relaxed look on her face, her body somehow locked in that position, then she bumps into Izanami. The hissing creatures says something like an old Asian woman who has finally decided enough is enough. Sin-Fin says something in reply, then after a few rounds of back and forth Izanami’s magic fizzles into the fog. “How did she do that?” You ask. She put a lot of points in social, then started rping as an anti social person. It’s a whole thing.

You glance back at Asmodeus. “You going to go tear her head off?” You wonder.

She blinks. “What sort of person do you take me for?” She wonders. “Honestly Risa, I don’t think I am exceptionally violent myself. Is that how you see me?”

“Nah, was just an idle thought.” You say and then turn back.

Izanami is in a human form, wearing one of their robe things, sitting in front of Sin-Fin. She glances around at the fog, then sits down. They are… they are getting along well? “From now on Sin-Fin is our diplomancer.” You say. “She seems to have rolled bard, so that’s neat.” You will never remember that. “So should we just… just leave them?” You ask.

“Don’t suppose it will harm anything.” Asmodeus points out.

You decide to leave them alone and go on a stroll with Asmodeus. Of course the stroll doesn’t let you see anything because you are in a cave! You do find a box of scraps, probably left over from Mendel, but you are uncertain why some voices in your head find that terribly amusing. You make it back to where you started and you find Izanami brushing Sin-Fin’s wiry hair with a comb. Sin-Fin made a friend! She is good at this!

She glances at you and Asmodeus as you approach, then looks down at her feet. Probably because you have a look on your face that tells her on no uncertain terms you are super jelly. “So, uh, you made a friend Sin-Fin.” You say.

“There now, hold still.” Izanami says. “We should wash your hair. To still have hair and not take care of it is such a shame.” Her Japanese is very archaic, but I don’t want to do a thee and thou thing right now.

“Right, so, er, did you want her for something?” You ask Asmodeus.

She shakes her head. “It is just a little thing. I can take care of it any time.”

Seems you have Izanami’s attention, for now anyway. As long as Sin-Fin continues being an adorable jester girl. What should you do?

Ask her if she can promise not to destroy all the living if we let her leave, provided we help her defeat Izanagi?

Even her anger is pretty logical, it kind of falls into the whole scorned woman trap so prevalent in mythology, where the wronged party just kind of indiscriminately lashes out at people that were at best tangentially involved with the crime. Hera would probably be the best example of this.
>>
>>38050380
>She shakes her head. “It is just a little thing. I can take care of it any time.”
Liiiiiiiiiiiitle worried here, that it might be part of her elaborate plan to break Sin-Fin even harder than before because that's how Asmodeus gets off.

Probably not that though.

>[X] Just tell her to be friends with the Fin, you need nothing else.
It's not like she needs our help to want to kill her husband probably.

And that reminds me, is she currently bald? Because I just looked it up and the way Izanagi found out what Izanami looked like was by lighting her hair on fire while she was asleep.

Which is just what the fuck?

I'm wondering if she's even allowed to leave this place?

Like she was gonna ask someone for permission before Izanagi totally flipped out.
>>
“Well, you’re popular ain’t you?” You ask.

Sin-Fin looks around concerned. “No I’m… not.” She replies.

“If you say so. Look, if we leave the door open will you promise not to kill everyone on the outside world?” You wonder. “We can even help you kill your husband if you want.”

She looks over at you, then down at Sin-Fin. “There now, nice and clean. You have to take better care of yourself.”

“I don’t need to. It is o…kay for me to be di…rty.” She says.

She ruffles Sin-Fin’s hair. We want that attention damn it! You resist the urge to worm your way under her hand and smile. “Really you can get all the revenge you want on the bloke, no need to just kill random people off. They are damn good at dying on their own anyway. As for the little problem last time we can do a ‘One-Time Girl-Power-Pass’ and call it water under the bridge.” The fuck did you just say? Why would you say that? People don’t say that, no one says that! “This is how people talk.” You sigh. No they don’t, are you—are you having a stroke?

Your regeneration picks up the slack and you smile all the way, not just with only the right side of your face like you were before. “Certainly.” Izanami says. “I will leave when the sun sets.”

“Fantastic!” You say, ignoring the terrible implications of a giant goddess of death roaming the world of the living as free as you like. “Anyway, I guess I will just sit here and enviously stare at Sin-Fin’s social skills.”

Sin-Fin is confused! But she looks adorable while she is doing so.

As night comes, your group leaves the underworld. You walk along the dark path, and Asmodeus and Izanami fall a bit behind because she is a cripple, don’t make fun. She asks something of her, and the woman furrows her brow, then nods and hands her something. Odd. You ignore it and step out into the cool night air, the crickets making your tails vibrate at a frequency that hurts your eyes. “So see you around?’ You ask, and she nods, then vanishes into a stream of black smoke composed of the infinite agony of the death of millions.

You nod to yourself. “Yeah, this is a good thing.” You say.

The Phoenix leaves, then Asmodeus looks up at the starry night sky. “Does the world seem a bit different to you?”

You look around. The trees blow in the breeze dramatically, the smell of rain is fresh on the air, the fresh grass bends easily under your feet, and you get the feeling that there will be lots of mosquitoes tonight. “No, not really.” You say looking around.

“Well, I’m sure it’s just my imagination then. What are your plans now?” Asmodeus asks.

That is a good question. What should we do now?

Also, I feel wonderful about the clearly terrible nature of our decision already coming back to haunt us. I'm sure having everyone yell at us later on that we have caused yet another new apocalypse will mean good times and good feels to be had by all.
>>
>>38051676
Look it's not that bad. All we've got to do is kill Izanagi and then have Izanami take his throne and become the Yin AND the Yang, Life AND Death and essentially the ruler of the Shinto Pantheon. That would mellow her out good.

You never know, she might NOT try to destroy the entire world. Maybe the quest has finally hit a grimdark inversion and Azure will go with the whole, "ironically sedate and supportive super being" way of things. She might pick up knitting or sight seeing or just go and mutually murderize and get murderized by her hubby.
>>
>>38051780
Well for starters I'm pretty sure that she can only destroy the entire Japan at most. Though she might think that's the entire world.

It'll probably be fine.
>>
>>38051519
So what is different, is it just the implications of Izanami being loose, side effects of our earlier retconning?

Also should we alert Asmodeus that Jager is being kind of racist and sad?
>>
>>38051809
If she destroyed japan, would that destroy her?
>>
>>38051840
Maybe, if not im sure something would shortly thereafter.
>>
>>38051743
We fixed Ragnarok, and technically we didn't cause the Time Devourer, just unintentionally encouraged it at every opportunity.
>>
>>38051780

>>

>>

I'm not sure she could help with that, which is very disappointing, because I would love to punch the grimdark Nazi-ness right back out of Jager and move on with Captain Mom at the wheel. We apparently just aren't fit to handle scar tissue like that.
>>
>>38052042
Oh right that. That'll be fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
>>
>>38052098
True, but Asmodeus finds Jager more interesting than she does us.
>>
>>38052149

Well, I mean, Risa isn't a very interesting character. It's sort of like if someone put a lot of noise makers and glitter on a toad then wired its brain to a function generator.
>>
>>38051519
See how Sin-Fin is doing?
>>
>>38052258
But she's our senpai pretty much.
>>
It's kind of weird how it seems like people are just drawn to automatically like Sin-Fin, yet apparently she's been tortured for most of her life.

Do you have to be under a certain threshold of being an asshole to be drawn to protect her... frown?
>>
>>38052304

Well, it took a retcon for her to forgive us for a single misstep. She's a pretty terrible senpai, a not stellar person, and an awful, selfish friend. The Norse were right about her, as were the angels, as was Jager. But then again, it's not like we have a cabinet filled with better people to associate with.
>>
>>38052420
Technically we're even worse.
>>
>>38052420
That retcon wasn't the only way to fix that, but it was what happened.
>>
>>38052420
Friends occasionally fight or have disagreements. Azzy is the fallen Angel of List and has a few issues... But we live in a glass palace made of glass houses.
Besides bitch is snazzy. We should let her play our guitar sometime. If anyone has an astronomical rock stat its her.
>>
>>38052496

It would have taken a lot of time, dedication, and patience to swallow another round of colic like what's been being dished out fairly regularly in recent threads. You are correct that a retcon was not the only way to handle this from a story perspective, but I feel it was the right decision from an in-game perspective and I support it.
>>
>>38052565
Eh, no need to get that negative. If the thing that offended her was that she thought we didn't value her enough, then going out of our way to get her more presents might have worked.

I'm just surprised misunderstanding the value of the dragon princess would have been just as bad as completely misunderstanding her outlook on reality even though it's pretty similar to Risa.
>>
>>38052565
Dude, he just came back and things are going okay so far.
>>
>>38052620

Yeah, whether it was the pursuit of lust for keeping Jager pleasantly sane or the desire to not let Azzy hurt herself by hurting Yuki (and thus her relationships with everyone she supposedly cares about), our intentions were noble and aimed at her benefit. Would have been great if she eventually realized she had been a colossally selfish, ignorant, terrible person and her and Risa got to have a nice, sisterly bonding moment, but I'd be lying if I said that I thought we would ever get that moment in anything other than a novel written front to back by some dedicated anon.
>>
>>38052798
What? No what we said was complete bullshit and Asmodeus's reaction was completely inappropriate. Which was why it didn't have the majority vote and people went out of their way to say how that was a bad idea.

If that WAS what everyone voted for, then Asmodeus had every right to get her feelings hurt.
>>
>>38052798
More likely we would have had to give her SPXP flavor items and an apology.

You're a noblebright bastard aren't you.
>>
>>38052825
completely appropriate I should say. Especially since Sin-Fin just said that Asmodeus doesn't have the same values as a human.

Also, ultimately I'm pretty sure Jager would be happy that Yuki is going to swear vengeance against Asmodeus though we can't tell her because she might help Yuki get strong enough to kill Azzy.
>>
“So what did you get from the Goddess?” You wonder

She tilts her head. “Oh, just a little thing. No need to worry about it.” You drop the subject, like someone not suffering from crippling social issues might! Yeah, you are the best at this. “So want to hang out?” You ask.

“Well that might be nice.” She says.

You spin in a circle and change into a short skirt and heels to look like a party girl. Sin-Fin’s outfit changes into something like a floral patterned dress, then you all go to the club. You get some gin, and have a regular fun time with Azzy, not asking about her questionable ideas about what exactly a picnic is. Aren’t you the best? Finally you feel like it is best to broach a topic with her. “Say, do you know how to make someone not a Nazi? Because Jager is sort of in a bad place and I keep making it worse like, all the time, and I have no confidence in my ability to handle things.” You say.

“There is something wrong with Nazis?” Asmodeus wonders.

“Yes. What? How can you even ask that?” You object.

“Well, they were certainly cheeky, but other than that.” She sighs.

“They bombed London!” You say. Also the Jew thing. “That thing too!”

She smiles. “Well, I just have a hard time telling their crimes from the crimes of other people. Humans are so strange that way. There was a Khan who was particularly violent some years ago, but no one raises a fuss about him.”

“He didn’t bomb London. If he did this would be a very different conversation.” You say. You really are sort of the worst.

“I will see what I can do. Sin-Fin will help too, won’t you Sin-Fin?” Asmodeus asks amused.

Sin-Fin glances around, then realizing she has been put on the spot tries to enter cheat codes with her eyes. It doesn’t help. She looks back down at her drink, and is silent. “Course, you will. Anything else?” She wonders.

I'm a little sad we can't do that now. I was thinking we could bring her Aizen the incarnation of the Wisdom King Ragaraja.

Aizen's deal is he transformed worldly lust into spiritual awakening, so I figured he could have given Asmodeus some fun.

Maybe we could still do that if our schedule clears up.

“Nah, that’s the main thing I have been worried about. Anyway, everything still feel weird?” You wonder.

“A bit. It’s like the universe is a glass of water, and it should be overflowing but there is a bead of water on top holding it back. It just needs one more drop. Very strange.” She shrugs.

“Any idea what could cause it?” You ask.

“If I did I wouldn’t have asked.” She makes a good point.

You go back to the shrine after a few hours of partying then crash in your room. You wake up a little later and find a macaroni painting by your nightstand of you and Plantbro. So this is what Garfield was working on! That scamp! You sonido out of your room and pounce on your adorable planty friend. You fall to the ground with them in your arms and roll around in joy! Joy you say!

You rub your face in his hair and feel her struggle in your arms like the adorable cactus she is. You see Caede walk in, she looks at you pinning your plant to the ground with tinted red cheeks and your clothes slightly a mess, makes a face, then shuts the door. Well that happened.

>>

Wait, wasn't Jager already planning on building a portal device to the underworld? Should we at least tell her that she doesn't need to bother with that anymore and try to spin it in a way that makes it seem like we didn't just create an apocalypse?

lets kill something! its a great stress reliever!

and I am against sharing HW
>>
>>38052998

I don't think a contract ought to be necessary. It would be really hard to enforce, for one. For another, as I've mentioned previously, Caede is completely emotionally reliant on a circle of friends and pseudo-family for which we act as a vital hub. She isn't a demon of greed, and I don't think anything is going to turn her on Fuego. Now if we somehow turn Fuego on us...

I'll be clear, one more "Your friend hates you forever" and I'm done.
>>
>>38053103
Wonder how Fuego is doing? Like I'm kind of worried about taking him with us to do violence because I still have it in my head that he's like... really weak? But then again, he did get special training from a guy from AE's previous quest, so maybe I'm out of date.
>>
>>38053047
But we need all the help we can get to take down Squad Zero. Do you not want to get the secret ending?
>>
I don't see the point in sharing the hellwyrm.
>>
>>38053256
Because it'll result in a much higher net gain of power than if we ate it and Caede stays at the same strength level?
>>
>>38053276
so we can have two people we don't have confidence in against the upper tier enemies?
>>
>>38053256
Agreed. Risa needs to be up to snuff before we start worrying about everyone else.
>>
>>38053400
That's exactly the kind of shitty logic that let shit get so bad though. Like we were pretty much told that outright.
>>
>>38053424
Where exactly is that statement?

Well we went out of our way to buff Jager with a God killer.. and then she tried to kill us.
>>
>>38053256
>>38053400

Thing is, we have utterly shit compatibility with HW. We might get, at most, 100 SPXP, which wouldn't be nearly as good as having another Risa running around helping us get shit done, one who doesn't share our weaknesses in certain regards (like in Soul Society).

She can help us get our racing parts. We can help her get more nibbles from hell. Everyone can win.
>>
>>38053450
She was no match for us. Like the only thing that made her almost a threat is we weren't trying to hurt her. And hurting people is what Risa is all about.
>>
And I am back
>>
>>38053450

We have constantly bled and sacrificed for Jager throughout this entire story. We have fed her, by and large, the most interesting and powerful things we have found at major story junctures (Cain and Fenrir), asking nothing in return. We have burned fatebreakers and miracles to keep her intact. For all that, I feel kind of cheated with how things have turned out for her, not to mention extremely disappointed in how she has become this untrustworthy, emotionally unstable, backstabbing, grim dark horror where she used to be the person we could always fall back on.

Oh well, maybe something good will eventually come back out of her. Like a pinata filled with asbestos and wasps, but maybe there's some candy still in there if we just keep swinging.
>>
>>38053545
eh, she deserves points for hanging out with us back when she was a good person and we really really really really weren't. And though we gave her strong things, we didn't really try to relate with her that much, and at some point we just mostly stopped bringing her with us at all.

Also Asbestos and wasps are delicious.
>>
>>38052929
>go see Caede.
We watched Jäger use her magic gun on Fenrir. If we're feeding HW to the adorable fly, then we are using the funnel.
>>
>>38053545
Save your bitterness for when it's contextually relevant, or better yet, don't post it at all. It doesn't seem like it's even attempting to be constructive.
>>
>>38053639
Eh my problem is that after so long and being leery on the archives the "EVERYTHING IS AWFUL EVERYONE HATES US." Stuff tends to hold sway. I'd re-read the archives but I just don't have the time.
>>
>>38053663
But they don't hate Risa, she's just eternally paranoid and untrusting.
>>
>>38053638
Hers is the sin of Gluttony. She don't need a funnel to really gouge herself.

Though one minor problem we might have is if the Hellwyrm reveals its true power, won't Gabriel blow his horn at it again?

Also, I'd kind of like to figure out why everything is precarious right now before we do any big fights, because it sort of feels like one wrong move could trigger a bad end for reality. Which is really just great.
>>
>>38053684
Glad we made our own world then. Escape into Risaden with our friends.
>>
>>38053679

>>
>>38053736

>>
>>38053751

>>
>>38053684
The funnel is for our amusement.

I bet that if se eats the HW her cheeks will be extra pinchable. So much more adorable I reason.

Or will she become older looking and monstrous.

Though, think about it. She grew up in a city in bell when sometimes the wyrm would eat neighborhoods.

To go from a lowly demon to a knight of hell and then to eating the boogie man of your youth.

Caede will look at us with Tsundere admiration.
>>
>>38053774

what Nintendon't
>>
>>38053797

That would make it worth it in my opinion. I also imagine that after this, she will look like a full grown adult.
>>
>>38053797
She better. Especially since we keep letting her join our DnD campaigns.
>>
>>38052871
Hm, it seems like Asmodeus doesn't really do lies most of the time, so I think that means that, in terms of what she got from Izanami, it really isn't something we need to worry about, right?

Though it's also something she didn't feel like telling us, so knowing what it was might make us worry regardless?
>>
>>38053995

My speculations would be pessimistic if I could be bothered to make one. All I really know is that usually when a DM tells you, "This isn't important" and you ignore it, they will later be yelling at you "This was important". At this point, though, there are too many mysteries for me to care about a new one. I don't think we'll enjoy knowing the answer to the question, think we have been actively discouraged from trying to know or do anything about it, so I'm prepared to leave it until it explodes in everyone's face.

Who knows? I'll put enough faith in Azure to question whether the mine will be filled with cocaine rather than shrapnel this time.
>>
>>38054074
We really need like some kind of list of all the ongoing plot threads, because I just find it really hard to keep track which sucks because they tend to be time sensitive.
>>
>>38053822
If she grows up then how will she keep her friends.
>>
>>38054128
Don't Zweity and Bitey look like full grown busty adults despite being adolescents mentally because despite being the most gangsta man to ever live (undie?) Bastidores could be kind of a creep?
>>
>>38054100
Let's see, I think our Quincy friends were doing some kind of super training, but they're not really that relevant despite Kouta always being the best student.

Ryoko... Pretty sure she's doing alright aside from unfortunately still having a big crush on us.

The angels might start sending things to kill us at some point since we turned down Gabriel's offer.

We still haven't met Mammon or Uriel yet, so we can't complete our checklist of having met every archangel.
>>
>>38054231
Jager still mostly hates herself, but hates the Fallen even more, don't think she's fond of regular angels either? She also doesn't seem to get just how powerful they are, like she has a mental block or something. Racism? She seems to still like us though, and is under the laughable belief that we're too good a person to hang with her, similar to the delusion Sin-Fin suffers from who I hope will be at least a little better now.

Everything still appears to be proceeding as the Time Devourer/Akira wanted, and the latest step of the plan that we saw was to humanize Mephistopheles a little, who is still getting his Madoka on and probably wants to doublecross Lucifer.
>>
>>38054153
to be fair, Bitey was undercooked and Zweity was tampered with by Luci's Science gal
>>
>>38054301
Oh right that reminds me, Lilith currently appears to be working for/with Beelzebub and has taken over Bastidores's lab. She seems to hate Sin-Fin for some reason, and I think she might potentially be a lead on the First Wish since she's older than Sin-Fin?

Also she is probably shitloads stronger than she initially appeared to be.
>>
>>38054290

Jager Prime is an overpowered monster. Never thought I could use the term Nazi-Sue to describe something, but I wouldn't put my money against her if she decided to have a throw down with Gabriel at full snuff. She can fire the soul of the planet at people, make her own McGuffian, and dwarfs Risa in personal power when she's half awake and with zero prep time.
>>
>>38054347
With Beelzebub, on AE's ask.fm he repeatedly insinuated that we might be able to take back Hueco Mundo without fighting the Lord of the Flies, possibly by gambling or some manner of contest? Not sure why we'd really want it beyond just pure possessiveness though.
>>
>>38054372
Dude, pretty sure the Soul of the Planet is weaker than Odin.

It's an impressive trick to be sure, but on the actual deep end of strength? Bitch has got nothing.
>>
>>38054347
It's not that big a mystery why she hates sin fin.
>>
>>38054374

Hollow breeding ground, but mostly it would be a moral victory, if not the most obtainable victory left to us when everything else Azure has thrown out on the field has "Will rape you to death at the drop of a hat" stamped on the tin or is associated with one such power that will immediately kick our ass if we so much as breathe on it. It's like playing mine sweeper.
>>
>>38054374
To figure out how to trick Beelzebub though, we'd need to talk to Asmodeus. And one thing I feel like people took for granted about the unfortunate business last thread was that it would seem like we are/were important enough to Azzy that we can hurt her feelings.

But we're still even worse at understanding her than we are everyone else and have no real idea what her end goals are.
>>
>>38054403
But wasn't she the one who dumped Adam first?

If anything, I'd figure that she would pity Eve for having to put up with that jackass.

Maybe we should go take care of this hellwyrm problem. Also that weird sound that comes out of your back sometimes, that might be something to be concerned about. “Yeah, let’s do the worm thing.” No, wyrm. With a y. “Why what?” You wonder. Just—Just do your fucking thing.

You go after Caede, the harsh scent of hell fire making it easy to trace the buzzy bee girl. You walk through the halls and find her in her room reading a book with her feet up on a pillow. She looks at you and makes a face, then takes an exaggerated kung-fu pose, or some sort of super hero rider pose. “You just stay over there lady.” She says.

“Caede, what’s wrong? Is this your rebellious phase?” You wonder.

“You hang out with that, you know, red person then you start getting feely with [Jewel]. I can tell what’s going on, she finally made you crazy and you are going after the women in the shrine!” She says.

“That’s true. I would go after the most adorable first.” You say.

“I’m not adorable!” She objects.

“You!” You make a cat face.

She shakes her head. “I am a hell knight! A bringer of darkness! A nightmare made flesh!”

“With squishy soft cheeks and a ticklish belly!” You say.

“That’s irrelevant towards the discussion!” She shouts.

So cute. “Listen, I was thinking about going to kill the Hellwyrm and wanted to know what advice you have.”

“My advice? Don’t do it! He is a heavy bruiser!” Psh, he is like Smaug, just a big thug. You know in the first age Smaug was like, baby tier. Just a big dumb bruiser made to get his shit kicked in by Batman. You don’t listen to most of Caede’s rant because you are thinking about Batman, and that takes time. That bat-butt. “.. and that’s why you shouldn’t do it.”

“She said I shouldn’t do it.” You point out. But what if she said you should? “But she said shouldn’t.” But she could have said should. “You’re right!”

“Stop listening to the voices in your head!” Caede says. “He is dangerous!” You’re a dangerous. Little buzzy buzz.

“You told that dude.” You say with a nod.

“Look, just get a second opinion, okay? From something not in your head.” Caede explains.

“Very well. Inventory? Should I kill Hellwyrm?” You ask pulling on your pants and looking at your spiderman underwear. It’s a nice underwear.

~S’kill the bitch. S’like he snitched on yer dog.

“How you been anyway?” You ask.

~S’fine. S’no problem. S’busy with stuff. S’city. S’good.

“Good talk!” You say.

“That didn’t count!” Caede objects.

“It was a voice in my pants. Totally different. The mission is solid!” You say.

“You’re an idiot.” She says.

“I have a Doctorate in Physics, and probably invented stuff.” You say.

Caede looks like you are crazy, but you nod. “Okay, so Azzy!” You say ready to go find her.

“Yes?” Asmodeus asks holding a bottle of wine in the hallway.

“Can you track the Hellwyrm?” You wonder.

“Of course. It may take me a little while, but it should be fine.” She says. “He shouldn’t be too hard to find, though if you really need to find him right now you could find my brother,” Mephy, “because he is much more attuned to hellfire than I am.”

That’s a thing. This is probably a very viable plan.

[] Go find Mephy
[] You can wait for Azzy to do her thing

Ask her if she would mind telling us about Uriel and Mammon. We've met all of her other brothers and for the most part they're all swell people.
>>

> Would Mephy be likely to steal the wyrm for himself if we told him?

maybe meet those magically girls again, a good look over should help narrow down what spices to use on them during the cooking process

>You can wait for Azzy to do her thing
Guys we're not planning on fighting the Hellwyrm fairly are we? Like we gotta get our posse together.

Especailly Caede because we can't really force him down her throat if she isn't present.

Like... you guys aren't planning on doing this 1-on-1 right?

R-Right?
>>
>>38054454
Ask Azzy if she has any holidays or I guess unholy-days associated with her. Maybe we could get her something in lieu of a birthday present, even if time has broken down and we're drifting aimlessly through a sea of endless days.
>>
>>38054535

If we aren't dragging Azzy along so she can get petty vengeance for her earlier incident, I'll call shenanigans on Azure. As for other people, I kind of... hate the NPCs. We should bring the full cadre despite that, it's just now we have to wonder if SinFin is going to Lightbring us or Jager is going to decide her Kaikaku demands HW go to her or any other assortment of strange buggery from the rest of our crew.

Caede gets a pass, she hasn't fucked us over at any point so far that we know about. Wonder how long that will last when we give her a loaded gun, but I'm all for efficiency.
>>
>>38054454
>[] You can wait for Azzy to do her thing
We don't need to find him right now. Or even today really. Like he is still really strong.

Sin-Fin has always been crazy, and when has Ryoko and Plant been unreliable?

You talking shit bout my plantbro?
>>
>>38054700
I think I was doing the opposite by questioning when they and Ryoko have ever really let us down?

Aside from being allergic to the Royal Realm, but that wasn't Bluebell's fault.
>>
>>38054724
And that reminds me, said strongly negative reaction to rotten time makes me think that Plant is not nor is associated with the Time Devourer, since Rotten Time is that thing's signature.
>>
>>38054742
Though there is still a mystery as to how Plant got time-space powers in the first place, also were they able to somehow pass them onto us where we proceeded to rampantly abuse them?

Like when you get down to it, we're nothing but a copycat.

...Still need to apologize to Lola.

Never make us talk shit about Hidalgo, Azure, he's kind of our rock... plant. I guess that makes him a Sudowoodo

Speaking of things easily forgotten, those people that Caede ran into earlier, the one who was really holy and some foreign mercenary dude.

Do they work for Mendel, or was Mendel fired/placed on probation and they're implied by the new leader of the Human Defense League?
>>
>>38054798

Don't care to find out, honestly. Human power is kind of the most dicks way to be outclassed. Realizing that you, the super abomination forged perfectly from a thousand screaming and twisted souls can be taken out by a few humans with reproducible gear is kind of disheartening. Well, more disheartening than getting your dick punched in by the Abrahamic faith at any rate.

>Tell a peon at the shrine to tell Lola we're kinda sorry not sorry for all the stuff that happened. If its any consolation she earned hangout and inner circle rights. Being among the pool of folk we'll randomly grab for missions and to hang out with if she were ever, you know, around.
>>
Well, thanks for the thread Azure, but being on the east coast means I've gotta get some sleep. Hope this went well according to your expectations and that nothing catches fire in your next two or three posts.
>>
>>38055052
We really don't need or necessarily want to fight the Hellwyrm right now.
>>
>>38054891
It's not like they're gonna just go away though. Also Jager is better at HFY than them probably.
>>
Honestly I would prefer to murder all the demons in hueco mundo to feed to caede than the hellwyrm.

“What are Uriel and Mammon like? I don’t think I’ve met them yet.” You say.

“Well, Mammon is a bit like... a boisterous hedgehog? He is prickly, and very proud of his spikes. Yet you sort of want to rub his stomach until he makes squeaking noises. Uriel is tense. He feels like he is just a place holder after our little disagreement with Michael. He constantly tries to prove himself, and in the end, he has become something like the destroyer of God’s enemies rather than His light.” She explains. “it’s tough having a sibling with an inferiority complex.” She sighs.

“Was he always like that?” You wonder.

“Afraid so. Well, he was cute in his own way.” She titters. I don’t like that word, titter.

“Well we can wait for you to do your thing with the wine and the Jager, and the seduction. I have other stuff to think about.” You say and look at your room longingly.

You feel a spurt of blood shoot out of your ear and excuse yourself politely before going into your room. You turn on your TV, and watch the whole of Poirot. You fill the room with blood, and are unable to contain your joy as he solves cases. He is bloody awesome, why is he so bloody fantastic? “I find this actor’s portrayal to be both accurate, and engaging.” You say through literally gallons of blood. “Poirot is my favorite.”

YOU HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING ABOUT RISA! SHE LIKES POIROT MORE THAN SHERLOCK HOLMES! THIS PROBABLY WILL NEVER MATTER!

“Unless it does” You clarify.

You get up and stretch, then go through the shrine. Jager is sleeping off her wine drinking party with Jager, and you tuck her in. You are so nice. You look out at the city and realize you have put a lot of things in motion. You grab a newspaper, something about a city suddenly becoming a ghost town, and then wonder just what to do? Shit is going to get real soon.

You walk into your room of the shrine, take a shower, then as you are drinking a nice cold bottle of melted Swedish fish you feel it. Reality swims, and washes itself. Like a bottle of water falling down a drain, suddenly the last drop slips through the cracks. You look around, aware of this, but behind you is a man. He is beautiful, beautiful beyond reason. He makes your eyes want to explode and bleed, and your hair to fall out in pain. You weep before him, and feel your gem resonate with his larger mass of Old One. “Hello Risa.” Lucifer finally says. “I am so glad you are in good health.”

Well. This is a thing. HQR 123 Redux End! I am sort of drunk. How about I end it here, and we pick it up next time? How did you lot like it? Too much? Too little? Questions, concerns, comments, accusations, etc. for a little bit at least.

Thanks for running and a belated Happy Birthday to you.

I'm kind of worried that the endgame has just been triggered because you'd rather get all this finished with, but it is nice to see Lucifer again.

Ha ha, thank you very much! My birthday was filled with class and meetings so it is nice to hear that! Ah, well, it was about time the pre endgame started I think. We were stalled, and stalling is bad no matter how cute Risa is. There is still time to do the stuff we want to do so don't worry!
>>
>>38055271

Kind of an empty house for feedback at the moment. It's late in some corners of the world, and I think a large portion of the regular crowd may have given this up for dead. Anyway, glad you ran and hope it built your confidence back up a bit.

I was fond of you just shitcanning the whole Azzy thing without trying to cook up some sort of penalty. You have my permission to do that as much as you want if it means we can get back to having fun rather than letting the thread devolve into bedlam or dragging the quest through the mud on our way back to the vaunted fun.

As for content, things are getting done, which is nice to see, little to no mention of powers or problems that we can't do anything about over the course of the thread. I was a little less happy when we apparently released a new apocalypse, but oh well. I'll put some amount of faith that you aren't going to turn this into some nightmare for us all to deal with and leave it at that.
>>
>>38055379
I suppose. Though it feels like none of the factors that got us stalled are any closer to being resolved, they're just more likely to fall apart, or, and this is arguably worse, just be quietly dropped offscreen. I guess it's possible it'll shake the other characters out of their stupors as well, so I suppose I'll wait and see.
>>
>>38055416
Like... part of the reason we were stalled is we couldn't trust any of our allies to either not get one-shotted or not betray us.

And having Lucifer show up and say it's game time seems likely to if anything exacerbate the situation. Like considering the awful mood Jager has been, it seems really likely she'll... speak poorly to the Morningstar, and that'll be a mess.

Hey, Sin-Fin needs a battered wives group, it is good for her! Glad to hear you like me pressing getting shit done! Nah, just wanted to point out Risa is like Cobra Commander in being more comfortable in bad guy ends of the world.
>>38055416
I hope it will serve as a kick in the ass!
>>38055436
Jager has had some bad days, but once she is cool with them she will be the best sort of science guy.
>>
>>38055379

Stalling was lead on by a major focus on big problems the players were ill equipped to deal with, or less vast, but more intricate problems being difficult to deal with by virtue of the MC's limited scope of influence. Just keep Risa pointed at the right, sufficiently smashable bits and the quest will practically write itself.

It's a simple model, but it's functional.
>>
>>38055469
In theory having Lucifer take charge might actually be helpful. It's a pity that he seems to want to destroy all humans and humans make tv shows and swedish fish.
>>
Its a bit frustrating having read the archives and thought "hey that's a good idea we should..." Only to catch up and feel that things are a bit late game for the ideas you had. The Apocalypse is intimidating.
Also.... Will Jesus be a thing?

I, um... Well if you say so.

Any chance we can leverage our conscription of the entire Norse pantheon into battle with her greatest enemy to get Mendel to cough up her research on shinigami? We might be able to use that to have Hiroshi figure out bankai fusion.
I want to see bankai fused Riddick.
And visored Shiba... But my heart doubt's that will happen.

Lastly... How's Mari? Feels like she needs omake these days

>Mendel is... difficult to reintroduce
Yeah that's what I was worried about. On the one hand we won't have to worry about a bunch of side plots on the other hand that's because they might just be forgotten.

Like this doesn't really feel... organic at all.
