Also, have you noticed how fantasy races always have superior senses when they have different senses? I was thinking, some animals are awesome at depth perception or seeing far away, but have trouble adapting to things close to them. Maybe that would be better so our elves arent special snowflakes that are oh so much better than humans?

Like in the above example, it would mean they are great with ranged weapons but crap in melee. Or maybe they can see infrared but have issues seeing "cold" colors, like blue, and just see it as black?

Oh, on the sleep thing. I read an article years ago about how you can program yourself to sleep just 20 minutes every 5-6 hours or so, since when you sleep your brain really only needs the REM sleep which is like the last 20 minutes of your sleep.

You spend a few days without sleeping, then force yourself to sleep just 20 minutes, then your brain adapts and from then forward you just sleep about 2 hours a day and since you are getting 2 solid hours of REM sleep instead of the 20 minutes other people get, you actually are MORE rested than they are. Just throwing that out there.

You do have fast and slow twitch muscles which have different attributes, through training you can increase a certain type but its mostly genetic.

This is why you have sprinters and endurance runners, people who are very fast and strong but cant keep up for very long, while you have people who can endure for ever and ever.

Yeah, that is how it is in a lot of places. The US is about the only Western nation where the right to bare arms of the citizens is somewhat respected (more in some places then others).

Granted in some of largest cities they try to prevent citizens from having guns and then the criminals are armed. This is fought in court.

They answer a call to find a wolf trapped inside somebody's garden.
Well, technically, it has the family trapped inside the house.
As long as it is there, they can't leave, and it can't leave on its own.

What kind of dog would be good? My first impulse is saying a small dog since he has no garden, but they do run every day and when the weather gets better, they can probably ride around on bikes, so it can get good exercise anyway.
I know most breeds are just teeming with genetic diseases, but IIRC the golden retriever is a healthy exception.

After the wolf is dealt with, they have a thankfully boring day until lunch time.

Today, the day's special was beef stew with potatoes and veggies.

It was nice to enjoy a warm, filling dish with such cold weather.

Once they were done with lunch, they went back to the car, and finished their shift with no problems.
