“It was self-defence” you say “he and his thugs attacked me and a friend in the park and we had to defend ourselves.”

“And Donni?” asks Sergeant Yonsul

“I uh, got rid of his body” you say “he seemed to think I was one of the Reunited and went after me because of it.”

“You didn’t think to tell the police?” asks Sara “Me specifically?”

“I thought about it” you admit “but didn’t see the point, Donni and his thugs were dealt with and so I didn’t want to have to ask you to clean up a crime.”

Sergeant Yonsul pinches the bridge of her nose with her fingers “Leaving aside covering up a crime” she says “why didn’t you just run, escape him somehow?”

“I have a right to defend myself” you say.

“There was no blood or any sign of injury other than the bodies at the scene!” snaps the sergeant “it wasn’t a fight, it was a slaughter!”

“We were outnumbered badly!” you snap back “I had to use everything I had, what you can’t be glad I’m still alive!”

“And dangerous” says Sara, glaring at you suspiciously “should I be expecting more dead bodies any time soon?”

Your response?

Honestly, she's either going to find out now, or when we kill Kulrathe. And I think having her find out after we had to kill a bunch of cops would be far worse.
>>
>>38129561
You'll have to explain why to me as I am apparently painfully stupid.
>>
>>38129609
For one, Shee isn't actually trying to stop them. If she was, she'd gone to Gorrax earlier amd explain what happened and try to work things over.
So far, it's all in self interest, that's what I'm seeing.

>>38129606
Second point, I still want to keep it hidden from her, but I guess there's reason in telling her because of Kulratje.
>>
>>38129705
Well, we did say we'd protect people, getting the Reunited to be less apocalyptic would be good for that.
>>
>>38129705
>If she was, she'd gone to Gorrax earlier amd explain what happened and try to work things over.
Not really. It was pretty clear Garrax isn't actually interested in cooperating with anyone.
And we haven't attacked Garrax at all.

And yes, we are trying to stop them. Thats why we tried to contact the Jaggantha chosen, and why we talked to Tom.
>>
“Yes and they're going to pile up regardless of whether or not I have a hand in it.” You say

“What?” says Sergeant Yonsul, still giving you that suspicious look.

“That Reunited thing I told you about?” you say “It's real, I'm one of them, and Lord Reaper has worked out a deal with The Five to not do shit about it. So they're all going to be killing each other and probably dragging other people into it and it's fucking ridiculous.”

You get up and start pacing, suddenly energised “I'm actively trying to stop them from getting the idea to kill each other, that’s why I was looking for Donni. I had hoped we could come to an understanding. Sadly he was an idiot.”

“So you killed him?” asks Sergeant Yonsul “Because he was...Reunited?”

“I killed him because he tried to kill me” you say “as I said, self-defence, I don’t think he was Reunited himself, I think he was after the Reunited for other reasons.”

“And these Reunited” says Sara “It’s just what, you, Kulrathe, Garrax and Breaker?”

“There will probably be more” you admit “Those are just the ones I know about.”

“And its not over until all but one of you is dead and what, the police are just supposed to stand by and lets this happen?” asks Sara, disbelieving, her arms folding over her chest “That’s crazy, I don’t believe it.”

“Yeah?” you say “I wish it was made up, but it’s not, why do you think Kulrathe went after such a small section of Dust Town? Was it known for a lot of rebel activity in that one area? Kulrathe didn’t get what he was looking for, you know that, and that place used to be my home. If he had intel on a rebel leader in that area and missed them, wouldn’t there face be on every wanted poster throughout the Hive? And yet, nothing!”

Sara’s expression starts to look a little troubled “say you’re right” she says “what can be done about this, I mean, I’m just one cop, and I’m not even saying I believe you yet but, how can this be stopped?”
>>
“I don’t know” you admit “short of killing them, I don’t think many of the Reunited will stop, but you’ve always said you’ve been working with backers who want to protect the Hive, that’s why you needed to know what Kaelyn knows. I figure those same backers want to avoid all out war on the streets too.”

“True” says Sergeant Yonsul “I expect they would, but so far you don’t have any proof of what you say, how do I know you’re not just making this up?”

Your response?

>You shouldn’t get involved, hell I don’t even know if *I* want to be involved
>You’ll find out, once you and I confront Kulrathe, together

“Proof?” you say “Come upstairs with me, then you'll see what they are killing each other for”

“What do you mean?” she asks.

“Just follow me” you say “and remember, I won’t let anything in there hurt you.” You lead Sara Yonsul up the stairs to the residence, and then up the stairs, to your realm.

“What” she says with a snort “You’re going to protect me? All five feet nothing of y- what the....fuuuuuuck...” she stops talking as you lead her through the door, into your realm.

“What is this place?” she says, looking around, her hand going unconsciously to the gun at her belt.

“This is my realm” you say “though I haven’t given it a name yet, I guess Shee’s World sounds a little egotistical don’t you?”

“This is some sort of trick” says the sergeant “a hallucination or holograms or something.”

You sigh “Have a seat” you say, a table and chairs appearing on the beach next to you. After thumping the table a few times, Sara sits down “How are you doing this?” she asks.

“The Reunited” you explain “Like I said, the winner gets to be the Sixth god, maybe, until that point we all start to develop these powers. One of them, at least for me, is this.” You gesture at the place around you.”

“This is...this is...” says the sergeant as you grow a small apple tree next to her and pluck one of the fruits from it, handing it to her.

“Apple?” you say “healthier than chocolate cake at least”

Sara takes the apple in a shaky hand, examines it for several minutes and then bites it very carefully, as if expecting it to shatter, or taste foul of something.

“Oh my God” she says “I mean, oh my God!” chewing the mouthful of apple

“Well not yet” you say with a grin “but maybe someday.”

“What, I mean how” says the sergeant “I mean, if you’re going to stop these Reunited, I mean, how can I help, I’m just a street cop.”

That doesn't mean we want to drag her into it, I'm not perfectly happy with this development, it could cost her a lot to work with us.

“I don't want to drag you into anything you don't want Sara nor do I want you to have to break any laws.” You say “Especially as long as you work close to Kulrathe.”

Sara shakes her head “If Reaper has told the other cops not to interfere” she says “and with Kulrathe making the police his own personal weapon, I don’t see how I have much choice about getting involved, or even breaking laws, how can I help?”

“Just information and intel for now” you say “no fieldwork.”

“Alright” she says, nodding “I can do that, so for now, nothing changes huh?”

“Not really” you say, having Sara help you out in other ways might have been useful, but for now, she’s most useful because of the information she has access to.

Sara shrugs and looks around “Ok, this place is amazing you know” she says in a slightly awed tone “Was there anything else you wanted me to look into?”

“Stay a while if you like” you say, gesturing around at the beach of smooth sand, the clear blue water, and the sunlight.

“I really shouldn’t” says the sergeant “I should be getting back to work, I have a lot to do”. She heads for the doorway a little further down the beach.

“That’s a shame” you say “I mean, Kae lives here now, and she’ll be waking up in a few hours, she’ll be sorry she missed you.”

Sergeant Yonsul pauses “you didn’t mention that” she says.

“Must’ve slipped my mind” you say, grinning at her.

Sara gives you a suspicious look and sits back down at the table, her arms folded “Ok fine” she says “I can wait a few hours.”

“Really?” you say “sunlight, sea and a beautiful beach and you just want to sit there? Not swim, or sunbathe, c’mon, have some fun.”

“And get sand in my clothes?” says Sara “not likely.”

“An excellent point” you say, a swimsuit appearing in your hands “What are your measurements again?” The one piece swimsuit changes size in your grasp. Sara just gives you a look combining amusement and irritation “if I put that on, will you be quiet?”

“No” says Kaelyn with a yawn, walking up beside you “Shee is never quiet” She is wearing what you are coming to think of as her casual clothes: short shorts and a loose t-shirt.

“Lady Kaelyn!” says Sara, jumping to her feet “didn’t realise you were awake, there’s so much I need to ask you about the Governors plans and-”

“Can it wait?” says Kaelyn, heading down the beach “I want to have a swim first.” She wanders down the beach to her favourite diving off rock, shedding clothes.

“Lady Kaelyn!” gasps Sara, sounding scandalised “You can’t just-”

Kaelyn turns to look at you, wearing just those tight shorts that hug her hips so snugly “Well?” she asks, a mischievous look in her eyes “Shee, sergeant, won’t you come for a swim with me? Who knows what you’ll find out about me if you do.”

“Sure Kae” you say, laying the swimsuit on the table in front of Sara “I’m just going to get Rainya, ok?”

Kaes expression slips momentarily then she smiles “Sure” she says “the more the merrier.”

You head down a floor to find a sleepy Rainya slowly coming around. You crouch down by her bed “hey sleepy” you say “I’m going swimming, want to join?”

“Hmmmtired” she says “maybe later.”

“Oh ok” you say, standing up “sergeant Yonsul is in the realm ok, she is going to be talking to Kaelyn whilst they swim, I’ll be up there if anyone needs me.”

There’s a pause, then Rainya says, in a much more awake voice “you and...Kaelyn”

“I’ll let you pick my swimsuit out” you offer

“I’ll be there in 5 minutes” promises Rainya.
---
Indeed she up in the Realm in three minutes by your estimation and the two of you change clothes in the Beach house. Or rather, you create clothes as Rainya directs.

“Really?” you say, looking down at the rather modest swimsuit Rainya has asked you to wear “I thought you’d want to see me in something...skimpier, I mean, this thing has its own mini-dress.”

“Something is missing” agrees Rainya “You need to have some holes here and here for your tentacles to come out, you will have all your tentacles out won’t you?” she asks pleadingly “I mean, what if there’s currents and you need to grab a rock or-”

“Uh huh” you say, giving her a tolerant smile and putting all of your tentacles on display “better?”

“Much” says Rainya happily “But you missed out the logo on the skirt.”

“What logo?” you ask

“The one that says *Rainyas Girlfriend: No Fae allowed to touch*” Says Rainya

“Don’t push it” you say to Rainya, as the two of you head down to the beach. Further out in deeper waters you can see the sergeant and Kaelyn swimming together

“Are you sure this is safe?” asks Rainya, putting one toe in the water.

You wade in up to your hips “Of course its safe” you say “C’mon!” you snag her with a tentacle and drag her in after you.
>>
“Shee no no, get off, get off!” yells Rainya, splashing you with water until you let her go, once she is level with you.

“See?” you say, the both of you waist deep in the water, you in your rather...original creation, and Rainya in a bikini that leaves little to the imagination.

“Hm alright!” says Rainya “Now that we’re in, what do we do?”

“Learn to swim I guess” you say “how about this, I hold you up in the water whilst you figure it out, and then you do the same for me?”

“Oh sure” says Rainya “I can trust you *just* to hold onto me and not grope me” she winks at you.

“No promises” you say, grinning at her.

“Shee” says Rainya “since when do you have fangs?”

You explore your mouth with your tongue “Huh I dunno” you say “Weird.”

Rainya gives you a cheeky smile “Here I am, alone in the water with a thing with tentacles and a fanged maw, whatever shall I do?” she puts the back of one hand to her forehead and pretend to feint as you catch her.

“Ahahahahah, I have you in my clutches now my pretty!” you attempt a deep voice as Rainya giggles, your tentacles sliding over her wet body.
---
Later, you and Tenley are heading out to the warehouse to meet his contact Leogh.

“Should we be bringing the merchandise?” you ask Tenley

“Sorted” says Tenley, the two of you in his small car “Gambon rented truck, spoke to your buddy Dev, loaded it this afternoon, bringing it to the site.”

“Alright” you say, hoping nothing will go wrong, even if it does, you’re not too worried, Tenley apparently trusts his contact, and even if things don’t work out, you can defend yourself.

You and Tenley pull up at the warehouse as the same time as a truck driven by Gambon pulls up.

You and Tenley go in, once again you see Leogh and his thugs.

“You have it?” he says

“Outside” you say “in the back of the truck.” Leogh nods to two of his thugs, who head out, ten minutes later they return.
>>
“Its there boss” says one, the other leans in to whisper in Leoghs ear, with your hearing you can easily hear him say “Three mil boss, maybe a little more.”

“Now off the rack is easy” says Leogh, moving his cigar from one side of his mouth to the other “custom jobs will take a few days.”

“How much if I just buy the kit and do the conversion myself?” you ask. Dev could probably mod arms and armour as needed.

“That’s half the cost of a normal upgrade” says Leogh “labour is expensive.”

Not going to be tracking regular ammo use, only special ammo use.

If you use a low-ammo weapon (i.e. plasma pistol) with an attack that uses a lot of shots (Rapid Shot) may have character reload in combat. Hasn't really come up so far.

2. Check with Gambon about contact with the fighters
3. Talk to Garrax (reunited)
4. Talk to Yonsul
5. Seek the favour of one of the Five (which?)
6. Contact the Rebellion about a mission (or to cut ties officially?)
7. Research the Fae Court/Palace, is there a way in?

You place your orders for custom equipment and take what weapons they have that are readily available, loading them into Gambons truck and then storing as much as you can in your dimensional arsenal.

With that done, you Tenley and Gambon head back to the Waystation. You have a quiet night in with your friends planned, but before that, you want to talk to the King of Hell about something he said to you earlier today.

Once you’ve stored the weapons in your Realm, you sit down on the sand, and think really hard, about Hell...
---
You find yourself in vast halls of white marble, all around you figures in long robes of all colours are scurrying to and fro. Some are smaller than you, others easily top 6 metres in height.

None of them look human, oh some are humanoid shape with long horns, red skin and sharp teeth and claws, others look like nightmarish spiders or lizard people or hulking rock-folk

You’re standing at an intersection and they rush around, some bumping into you as they pass, glaring at you as if it was your fault they walked into you.

“Um excuse me” you ask one “can you tell me” he rushes off before you can finish.

“I want to know where I can” you ask another, who simply ignores you. Each time you try to talk to the robed figures, they simply ignore you, hurrying around. All are carrying stacks of paper files.

Eventually a birdlike woman wearing thick glasses marches up to you “Shee Hyul?” she says

“Yes I-” you start

“You’re late for your appointment with His Majesty” she says severely “come this way, quickly now” Well at least she’s speaking to you, you head after her “can you tell me where I am?” you ask

“You’re in the Hell of Bureaucracy” she replies “Third Layer Fourth Circle Ninth Elliptical 133rd floor West Sector Nine in Corridor 6J.” How...precise

“And you’re 37 seconds late already” she says severely “What must the King think of you!”
>>
“I’m sorry” you say “I only thought to talk to him a few minutes ago, I-”

“Sorry, sorry!” cackles the bird woman “That won’t put us back on schedule will it, no, it’ll be error codes all around, and simply because the General Order Officer couldn’t stick to his assigned task, oh here we go again...” she rambles on in terms that make no sense, until you’re shown into a vast office.

A desk the side of a sports field has small mountains of paperwork upon it. All around the room there are complex multi-tiered filing cabinets and strange machinery.

In the middle of the desk lies a vast bloated demon, or rather, given the streams of blood flowing from it, soaking into the paper work, the corpse of a demon. At the desk sits the King of Hell, but far larger, far more *real* then you’ve seen him before. He towers over you, a giant of red and brass, you barely come up to his ankle as he sifts through the papers with a bemused look, ignoring you.

Your guide coughs and says “Your Majesty. Lord of all Hell, Ruler of All He Surveys, The Beast, the Brass King, The Thousand-Tongued-”

“Yes, yes” says the King of Hell, bending over the desk and peering at you both “Thank you, you may go.”

The birdlike woman dithers “But, Sire, there is no form 17GY76B to say that the person or personage of interest has been-”

“I said go” rumbles a voice like a forest fire. The woman flees as the King of Hell bends down, grabs you and then deposits you on the desk. You step away from the spreading pool of blood.

“Thank you for seeing me your majesty” you say “um, is this...Hell?”

“One of them” says the King, sifting through the papers “Where’s the blasted list of bribes? I can see why he rebelled, anyone would go mad with this, but where in my realm is the list? Anyway, yes, what did you want?”

“I wanted to ask about the rules of the contest of the Reunited.”
>>
“You already know them” says the vast form of the King of Hell. This close you can clearly smell brimstone and a strong animal-like musk, most definitely male, overwhelmingly so.

“Ah, I don’t actually” you say “I mean, I know a few, such as no favours given in battles between Reunited, how Gifts are given out, but not the full list.”

“Those are the important ones” says the King of Hell “The rest are...esoteric, such as no destroying your rivals through long-distance magical rituals, line of sight is the maximum, things like that” he continues shuffling paper. You file away that little fact.

“And in particular” you say “What the deal with Lord Reaper was.”

“Hah, his superiors more like” chuckles the King of Hell, his laughter making your bones vibrate.

“Ah yes” you agree “But what was the-”

“The rules were simple” says the King of Hell “The fae nor their forces could focus attention on the Reunited as a group, or individuals, nor upon their followers, save where laws were broken, in which case a proportional response was allowable. In short that the fae had to treat you as ordinary and unremarkable, despite knowing you are not. Now if you broke the laws, they could send the police after you, even the army if you took out swathes of cops, but no surgical strikes, no magical rituals to depower you, just a playing field with a few...hazards as it were.”

“Lord Reaper came after me personally” you point out

“Lord Reaper argued that he went after his daughter” says the King, “That you were simply in the way, a...debateable position, in any case your protection has been reaffirming” he looks a little disappointed “after your deal with the Darkness.”

“The offer you made earlier” you say “about my followers becoming demons, I was wondering if it was still possible”

“It is” says the King, focusing on you, grinning at you with a fanged maw “interested are you?”

“I’d like to know more” you say diplomatically, and trying not to show any fear in front of the vast demonic figure in front of you. You think that you’ve never really met the King of Hell alone, at least not in his own realm, and he seems someone more fearsome here.

“Some, though not all of those who work for you” says the King of Hell “Desire, to varying degrees, and for different reasons, to become demons, for immortality, power and so on. They are unlikely to achieve this in their lifetimes with their own talents, but you could do it for them.”

“How?” you ask “and, also, why?”

“The lure of powerful servants not enough for you?” asks the King of Hell with an amused smile.

“I mean, why ask it as a task?” you say “Surely having demonic followers is its own reward.”

“Because it would teach you about yourself” says the King “about how far you would go for your followers, for power, and which boundaries you cannot cross, Jagganatha is not the only one into self-improvement, he just approaches things differently.”

That makes sense, sort of.

“So I could still aim for this” you say “if I wanted to?”

“Of course” says the King of Hell “When you receive a Gift of mine, you can shape it into demonhood for a follower – who must be willing and know what they’re getting of course.”

“It’s that simple?” you ask

“It is” confirms the King “Unless done as part of a larger task.”

“What do you mean?” you ask “A larger task?”

“Had you chosen it as a bargain” says the King “then you would have to undergo specific trials to earn a specific type of demonhood – for a warrior demon you would need to battle certain foes, for an imp you would need to steal something, for a succubus you’d need to...well, you get the idea.”

That...yeah, you’ll come back to that, maybe.

“So how do I get my facility back?” you ask “can I not simply clear it out myself?”

“Not so simple” says the King, shaking his head “Reaper has designated it a hazardous site under army jurisdiction, he could argue that levelling all sorts of foes at you is a proportional response.” Damn....

“And if I asked it as a favour of you?” you say “or one of the others?”

“The same terms would apply” says the King, with an unpleasant smile “complete a major task, and we would tell the fae it belongs to you.”

Well, that’s something at least...

“How high does the deal with the fae go?” you ask “I mean, could Lord Reaper ask a more powerful fae to attack me? Like Geheganesh?”

“It’s possible” admits the King “but any fae powerful enough to risk a confrontation with the Five is unlikely to listen to one as lowly as Reaper. Geheganesh has other things to occupy him, he never did get over his defeat by Ydes all those years ago, I would be very surprised if the Endless Sands even noticed you little one.” Huh, unlikely, not impossible...

“Now that I rejected it” you say “could you tell me who Jagganatha wanted me to free?”

“I could” says the King “but if I did, he’d probably take the deal off the table, and you want your facility back, yes?”

“Yes” you say grudgingly “But he could offer another task, could he not?”

“Oh indeed” says the King “indeed.”

“My father was a follower of yours” you say quietly “could I see him?”
>>
The King gazes down upon you with a look of...compassion “you may if you wish” he says “though he is currently involved in a war at my request, against the Twenty and One sons of the Golden Emperor, your meeting with him would be amidst a bloody battlefield. Calling him away would hamper my forces chances, but I can arrange for you to go and see him if you wish. I warn you though, he has certain knowledge about Reaper and Ordeyen that was agreed he must keep secret, if he attempts to tell you anything he shouldn’t, I will end the audience.”

“Who agreed that certain things had to be kept secret?” you ask

“The fae lords here are weaker than us” responds the King of Hell “But the eldest of their kind could challenge us if so inclined, they agreed that our contest could take place on their world, and thanks to Baalzamon it is we who can interpret the rules of the contest, but certain concessions had to be made. You father, and a few others with connections to other Reunited had discovered certain weaknesses of the fae lords. It was agreed that since the fae lords where not, officially, part of the contest that these weaknesses were not to be revealed.”

“So my father knows Lord Reapers weaknesses?” you say “Is that how he beat him?”

The King just nods, as he starts arranging the paper stacks, you dance around his hands as they lift house-sized stacks of paper.

“Would it be possible for one of you to free Kaelyn of being one of her fathers Subsidiary Souls?” you ask

“Yes” says the King of Hell “though you could do it yourself were you to learn the power.”

“How?” you ask

“Once you have the power to divide your soul” says the King of Hell “you could...steal one of Lord Reapers souls, turning it into your own.”

“Then she would be my Subsidiary Soul and not free” you point out.

“But free of her father” says the King “But to answer your next question, yes, any of us could truly make your friend her own individual...for a price.”

Ah yes, it always comes back to that, you think glumly.

“If my father is in battle” you say “then I’ll not see him, now but perhaps another time?” you say hopefully. The King nods in acknowledgement. “And could you tell him I miss him” you add in a small voice “please?”

“A welcome message given his current task” says the King gravely “or perhaps merely a painful reminder, in either case, I shall pass the message on.”

“Thank you” you say, adding “I would like to know what Jagganatha was asking of me” you say.
>>
“Ah” says the King, “Therein lies a tale. To save you a year or two of your life, I will give you the shorter version.”

“A long time ago we were many, then the war came, and many died, reborn again and again through their many souls. For some the poison of death lingered however, having died too many times they became...something else, something obsessed with the destruction of all life. We struck a temporary truce with the rebels and those of our siblings that had become death we named the Hadaens and imprisoned them.”

You wait calmly for the King to finish his story.

“The main chained in the desert was once mortal, long ago, but he gained immortality through his service to the Hadaens and was at one time their highest servant, called the Prophet of the Apocalypse – a grandiose title for a jumped-up necromancer. Still, killing him would only send him to his masters, who would send him out into the galaxy again and again, so he was imprisoned within Geheganesh, chained to a rock, and beneath the rock were buried a number of his creations, foul things. Jagganatha obviously feels unleashing him would be beneficial in some ways, which I doubt.”

“If he was freed” you ask “What would he do?”

“He’d travel far from this world” says the King “and try to free the Harbingers, his greatest works, I expect he’d be puzzled to find at least one of them gone, but still, this world he would ignore for a time, though his creations would run rampant, and upset the field of play.”

“Thank you for your time your majesty” you say, bowing to the King “you have been most helpful”.

“Begone” he commands with a smile “Daughter of the Death of Tyrants.”

You appear back in your own realm, your audience with the King of Hell at an end. Your mind full of whirling thoughts you put all that aside and head downstairs to spend a quiet evening with your friends, or as you’re thinking of them, your family.

You spend an evening watching various holo’s picked out by others, after dinner you all lounge around on chairs and sofas in the residence. Your friends squabble over which holo’s to watch, stories of war, of love, or of silliness and humour. You watch the images and imagine yourself in these stories, wishing your lie was so simple, with such clear-cut decisions. Still, you look at Rainya, two of her bodies bracketing you, wrapped up in your tentacles beneath a blanket you share, at least there are some compensations.

Once I get the actual bloodline tree for Primacy of Blood done (currently still in idea form with the peripheral itself done), ~12 XP.

If I submit some of my other peripheral ideas as well, that could jump up to 20-30 XP, depends on how productive I am tomorrow.
>>
>>38135751
I think its better to save those up for now, and get it all. Especially to make the best use of the vamp XP.

Baalzamon and Mirror offer Intellect

Ichor offers Charisma, I've not had her offer it because hers is far more magical realm-y than the Kings.

I would've thought that Ichor would offer her own version of Might as well, given how it meshes with her own abilities and some of her powers are strength-based.

Ah, so she's still fucked against melee and magic stuff. That's what I thought, thanks for clarifying.
>>
>>38136733
Its not particularly dumb, since the ability doesn't actually say.
You have to look at the setting info
>Force Shields protect against ranged attacks only. Force shields have a shield rating that reduces the damage of ranged attacks by that number, if a force shields rating is exceeded by the damage from an attack the rating is reduced by 5, until repaired.
>>
>>38136783
Not exactly fucked, her physical defense is okay.
Just not as good as that of physical monster like Shee, Lirael and Kae.

I wonder if Shee could make Dhampires if she reaches Healing 7.
>>
>Rev up a dice roller thingy because I need to get a handle on what 8d10 actually looks like most of the time
>Almost always between 30 and 50

Man, Rainya with maxed out energy weapons being a 10-girl sniper squad would be pretty baller. 300 damage smacking a dude out of nowhere would be sick.

>>38137044
That's what I was waiting for. All spoilers because some people might not want to see it before the next thread.

Primacy of Blood: You are now a Progenitor Vampire, and as such develop your own unique bloodline, with it's properties and powers based off your own. All vampires of your clan, regardless of whether they were created before or after you gained this peripheral, will gain a unique bloodline tree based off your native powers and Aspects. If you did not possess the ability to create them before, you are now able to turn mortals into all forms of vampire: Created Dhampir, Natural Dhampir, Living Vampire and True Vampire. Creating a Created Dhampir functions as normal, creating any other kind of Vampire requires 30 Vitae and 4 hours. You may bestow your Bloodline on one who is already a Vampire if you so choose, however this is a rather difficult process and requires a more difficult process during which you will lose HP equivalent to the Vampire being granted the Bloodline's Vitae and suffer Constitution damage equivalent to 1/5th that in addition to the normal conversion cost. Dhampir can be converted as though they were mortals, Created or otherwise.
This replaces the converted vampires bloodline with yours. They do not lose their existing bloodline power, but must now advance it as a non-favoured power.
The Vampire Conversion Ritual involves draining of that vampire's Vitae (surprisingly not that painful for them in most circumstances, but highly unpleasant since it makes them go well beyond the normal 'starving to death' threshold) and then allowing them to feed off the Progenitor all the way back to full HP, effectively replacing their own Vitae typing with the Progenitor's and being of their blood in a wholly literal manner. The normal "Mortal to Vampire" ritual consists of the Progenitor slowly draining them and replacing the mortal's blood with their own Vitae.

Hold on, had to slice a bit off the end.
>>
>>38136922

Willing (or mind-controlled) participants are not at risk, unwilling participants must pass a Constitution check DC 15 to survive, otherwise they die in the process.

Requires: Feast of Life 6

Special: You may not raise your own bloodline power rank above your Feast of Life Rank. None of your bloodline may raise their bloodline power above yours.
>>
>>38137088
>during which you will lose HP equivalent to the Vampire being granted the Bloodline's Vitae and suffer Constitution damage equivalent to 1/5th that in addition to the normal conversion cost

>>38137151

>>38137205

Vitae instead, them temporary if hp if vitae is full

>And then when they feed on us, will that use the temp hp first or will it cut into real hp only like how it does when we use hp instead of pe?

It will only come off actual HP, not temporary. But vampire bite damage can be magically healed, albeit at a slower rate.
>>
>>38137316
>Does this mean that we become actual vampire and need to drink blood to live?

No, though you can use vitae to fuel your powers you do not require it to survive
>>
>>38137088
This looks great to me

Also, the issue isnt really with your power, but rather how vague vampire stuff currently is.
Lirael has 3 Tiers with her powers, Rank10, Rank12 and Rank 15(Ascension), what of that is favoured?
Or is it Normal, Favoured, Bloodline Power?

And it might be nice to get more accurate details on how Dhampirs work, since I could think of one Dhampire in particular we might want to have benefit from us.
>>
Also, the Shadow power has a write-up now, for those curious.

Living Vampire max ranks are 10 normal/15 bloodline

True Vampire max ranks are 15 normal/20 bloodline

Graced are the only ones that have some of them at +2 over max

Dhampirs work in much the same way as vampires - can learn vampire powers and spend vitae.

>>
>>38137885
Yes.

What makes me wonder is how she supresses/satisfies her biting addiction.
Considering she doesn't want any vampires anywhere near her.
>>
>>38137925
...maybe she bites herself?
>>
>>38137930
Dhampirs don't have fangs. At least none to satisfy biting addiction.

I suppose she might use drugs like we did? Or maybe there is medicine to supress it?
>>
>>38137666
>He does not need to get dragged into the varying forms of lethal contests we are involved in, in which he will just get murdered.
Nor does Yonsul, she's still keeping an eye and ear out for us. By asset I mean someone to keep pulse on the city, he and Yonsul move in different areas, let him watch those for us.

>Did it occur to you that Ashley could just, you know, come to us? He knows where we live.
Did it occur to you he could be depressed or worse yet interrogated by the Crimsonthornes?

>Even with Quinn still alive that would be highly dubious, Ashley has no way to do that without him.

At the very least he could tell us what their security is like, which would be invaluable. Kae might know but considering how much clout she had I doubt she thought to examine it in more than a cursory fashion.

>>38137925
High willpower and lots of baggage?
>>
>>38137343
How would Life Drain interact with the Vitae pool?

Would Vitae fill up before we get Temp HP? Would Vitae fill from PE overfill instead of HP overfill? Would Life Drain just not do anything with Vitae?

If it's the latter, would it be possible that a peripheral FoL power unlocks Vitae from LD?
>>
>>38137972
>interrogated by the Crimsonthornes
In which case we couldn't find him anyway? What?
Seriously, you're not doing your argument any favour.

>>38137972
>Nor does Yonsul
Actually she does. She herself explicitly said so. And that she can't be kept out of it is the entire reason we told her.
>>
>>38137506
Sounds like a plan AA. A bumd plan but when has that stopped us? ARE WE NOT TG? WE WILL FAIL AMUSED! AND PALLY WILL LOOK UPON US IN DESPAIR!
Or you know, the non stupid option might win but you can't count on that happening.
>>
>>38138016
>How would Life Drain interact with the Vitae pool?
Not at all.
>>
>>38138050
We could power it with vitae, so in that regard it would. But otherwise, why would it interact with vitae anyway?
Its a psychic power.
>>
>>38138030
I'm saying we need to check up on him. Either he's depressed/pissed which could get him or us in trouble, or he's being interrogated which is very big trouble. Especially since vamps are in on the thing like the Fae are.
>>
>>38137972
>Did it occur to you he could be depressed
About a guy he didn't really like dying? No.
>>
>>38138096
>I'm saying we need to check up on him.
No we don't. If he needs something, he can call us.
>>
So where does this whole "Void" thing come from? Is that what Shee's Impossibility aspect just becomes by default or something when we use it for vamp stuff? Because I don't really get it.
>>
>>38138134
Its what Shees Imposibility makes out of Shadow powers.
The Aspects change our other abilities over time, and thats what it does with shadow powers.
>>
>>38138124
Unless of course he's on the run or be interrogated by Quin's family and the shadow vamps.
>>
>>38138173
In which case we can't reach him anyway.
>>
>>38138186
and you don't even want to try because he's a guy got ya.

Odds are if he is being interrogated he'd be in the exact same place where we'd need to go to grab a shadow vamp, the estate. If we know he's missing we might be able to grab both when we go.

Even if he isn't checking up on friends is still very much in character.
>>
>>38138186
Haven't you ever played a video game where you hunt a guy that's chasing a guy you're trying to find and then beat them half to death to get the location of the place they're going to ambush the guy you're trying to find and go there to kill them all and find the guy you were trying to find?
>>
>>38138231
>Even if he isn't checking up on friends is still very much in character.
Considering we have never done so before, no it isn't.

>>38138231
>and you don't even want to try because he's a guy got ya.
I was willing to pretend you weren't just the last butthurt hetfag bothering us, why did you have to dispell the pleasent illusion?
>>
>>38138252
I'm pretty sure I have, I think.
Not sure how that relates to it.
>>
>>38138293
Plot convenience?
>>
>>38138231
Thats a terrible plan. Freeing him/kidnapping a shadow vamp are already dangerous tasks of their own.
Trying to combine them would just be having both fail.

And if they are "interrogating" him, they wouldn't drag him anywhere, they'd just pluck it from his mind. And then dispose of him.
>>
>>38138321
Plot convenience would be if Ashley would turn out to be from a branch of shadow vampires.
>>
>>38138350
Regular convenience would be if our knowing vampire powers through Baalz means we can just *get* the Shadow powers without having to kidnap one and teach Lirael ourselves.
>>
>>38138367
Actually.
Why wouldn't we be able to do that?
Shouldn't that be our Bloodline power when we reach that Rank of FoL?
>>
>>38138265
>Considering we have never done so before, no it isn't.
Friends and family are a big part of Shee, large part of the reason we never visited was because we were always busy(we have to heal up now so that's a day maybe 2) and he was in a location very far away and time consuming to get to (we're closer now).

>I was willing to pretend you weren't just the last butthurt hetfag bothering us, why did you have to dispell the pleasent illusion?
I am not a butthurt hetfag. I was under the impression you were a guys are gross fag, my apologies. We have Rainya and that is more than fine with me.

>>38138330
>Thats a terrible plan. Freeing him/kidnapping a shadow vamp are already dangerous tasks of their own.
>Trying to combine them would just be having both fail.

Only if we found out about it during the mission, if we plan it out before hand, it's much more doable.

>And if they are "interrogating" him, they wouldn't drag him anywhere, they'd just pluck it from his mind. And then dispose of him.
Unless they think he knows something that he doesn't and they're sifting around in his brain for it, unaware of what others did.
>>
>>38138399
>Unless they think he knows something that he doesn't and they're sifting around in his brain for it, unaware of what others did.
That doesn't make any sense.
If they would think he had someone lock something up in his brain, they still wouldn't drag him off anywhere for more than the day or so it would take for Senior Crimsonthorn to go through his mind, in which case it already happened.
Not to mention I have no idea what they would interrogate him for to begin with, because they already know who did it anyway.
>>
>>38138433
Fair enough, Guess Ash is likely dead too then.
>>
>>38137803

I wonder if we got impossibility high enough we could just change the shadow power to something else.

Like a vampire with light powers instead, a vampire that controls light? Impossible!
>>
>>38138399
>was because we were always busy
Just like right now. Which was my point.
If we aren't anymore, I invite you to to ahve us take our friends and Ashley go a night clubbing to find him some new friends and social contacts.

>>38138465
Pretty sure they wouldn't kill him anyway. For what really?
Would just bring trouble with his family, when they can just wipe his mind, or alter it to make him work against us or something like that.
>>
>>38138491
>I wonder if we got impossibility high enough we could just change the shadow power to something else.
That is exactly what we are planning to do right now.
We are going to change Shadow into Void.
>>
>>38138433
Well, assuming we're talking about the shadow vampires, maybe they don't want to work with Crimsonthorne, and their whole deal fell through when Texas Ranger called off his visit and they both have some level of animosity towards each other they don't have to keep (as) civil anymore.

Also, we don't know what Baalz planted in Quinn's mind, so we can't really assume anything about what they know, don't know, or think they know.
>>
>>38138541

Yeah, my personal preference is light, due to how much it would not be vampires.

Level tier would be artificial light/moon light/sun light.
>>
Void is fucking scary as a concept. It's, like, you know what shadow is, but try to imagine real void right now. Closest thing I can think of to simulate it is to put your hand behind your back and try as hard as you can to see out of the hand and focus only on the absolute nothing you get out of it. It's really weird if you manage to get really into it.
>>
>>38138588
If Crimsonthorn is working with them, the go straight to Ashley, look into his mind, see the entire scene and know whats up.

If Crimsonthorn isn't working with them, they don't know about Ashley.
If they find out about him anyway, see above.

So as always before, the less attention we bring on Ashley, the better for him, so he won't get casually mindraped by Elder vampires.
>>
We should have just had Baalzi turn Quinn into our slave. He's dead anyway now, but at least that way would have gotten us some free stuff.
>>
>>38138688

I brought it up after his mind was reformatted, we should get in contact with him, we kinda owe it to him after what we did to his mind.

A lot of people were like fuck that, let him rot.
>>
>>38138523
We are going to need to spend a few days healing up and planning the raid.

The crimsonthornes might not but Ash's family isn't powerful and if the shadow vamp are like their former patron at all.....
>>
>>38138744
We don't owe him shit.
We were already super nice in bothering to put his mind back together.
>>
>>38138762
>The crimsonthornes might not but Ash's family isn't powerful and if the shadow vamp are like their former patron at all.....
Yeah, which makes it even more likely they would rather mindfuck him than kill him.

And then they already did.
>>
>>38138805
>they would rather mindfuck him than kill him.
Not if they saw what he did as betrayal or treachery, remember how pissed Baalzi was seeing a basic shadow vamp?

What I was initially saying was while we were healing up from our asswhipping(it'll take a day or two) we should talk to ash and warn the resistance.
>>
>>38138894
>Not if they saw what he did as betrayal or treachery, remember how pissed Baalzi was seeing a basic shadow vamp?
Then they killed him. In which case he's dead.
>>
>>38138914
>Then they killed him. In which case he's dead.

Exactly we should check on him, via dump phone, if not because he's our friend because we might being getting hunted by shadow vamps.
>>
>>38138950
>Exactly we should check on him
To what purpose?
If he's dead, then we can't check on him, because he's dead, and we will find out when Yonsul tells us.
If he isn't dead, then either no one bothered with him, most likely, or the mindraped him.

There jsut isn't any scenario in which contacting him would benefit anyone.
>>
>>38138775
>We don't owe him shit.
>We were already super nice in bothering to put his mind back together.

That is exactly the response I got at the time. Thus it is in the past now.

I wonder if we can find a mages ally somewhere, or more champion allies.
>>
>>38138980
I hope for a Reunited ally actually.
I really hope we can come to a compromise with Ichors Avatar.
>>
>>38138970
>If he's dead, then we can't check on him, because he's dead, and we will find out when Yonsul tells us.

If she tells us in time before we have vamps knocking down our door. Knowing he's missing give us lead and forewarning.

>If he isn't dead, then either no one bothered with him, most likely, or the mindraped him.

Which we can undo if he is and spend some time asking him about the higher echelons of the city if he isn't.
>>
>>38138950
I really don't know why you are so oppsoed to a NPC just being a social contact.
Can't Ashley just be our friend without needing to be involved in our dangerous bullshit in which he is absurdly outclassed?
>>
>>38139009

Maybe not avatar.

I think we blew a chance on getting one reunited as an ally, when we blood drained Doni.
>>
>>38138980
Kae is a mage
>>
>inb4 it's a baalzi reunited who wants to be our ally and they're actually genuine, but people never let them because paranoia
I mean, I wouldn't trust them either, but yeah... I can totally see it happening.
>>
>>38139081
I'm trying to get him as a contact, I'm getting talked down by it. Lord knows unless Ash gets a bloodline boost he's no use fighting for us.

Some anons don't ever want to talk to him.
>>
>>38139059
>Which we can undo if he is
No, we can't, because we wouldn't know, because Shee doesn't have a habit of casually invading his mind to check for these things.

> Knowing he's missing give us lead and forewarning.
No it wouldn't, because if they went for Ashley, they did so a day or two after we were in Quins mind, in which case it has already happened a while ago.
>>
>>38139129
>I'm trying to get him as a contact
No, you want him as informant, thats a different thing.
I just want him as a friend. Just someone living a ordinary life, who we don't hang out with just because he's useful, but because he's our friend. There is no reason to make him involved in all of this.
>>
>>38139119
Definitly yeah.
Thats going to be interesting.
>>
>>38139087
The implication seemed to be Donni wasn't Reunited.
>>
>>38139143
>No, we can't, because we wouldn't know, because Shee doesn't have a habit of casually invading his mind to check for these things.
We could tell pretty quickly we have good perception and we saw something was up with Lirael dead away.

>No it wouldn't, because if they went for Ashley, they did so a day or two after we were in Quins mind, in which case it has already happened a while ago.
We'd still know something was wrong, which wouldn't happen otherwise until his body was found(unlikely if they hid it) or until we got ambushed.

>>38139179
>There is no reason to make him involved in all of this.
He already is with the Crimsonthornes and shadow vamps, at least talking to him to make sure he's ok doesn't seem stupid.
>>
So now that we know we can free Kae from her father using that soul split power thing if we buy it, how do you feel about it?

I mean, it's evil as shit to use it for the respawns, but it's not like we'd /have/ to use it for that...
>>
>>38139268
I think we are more likely to get to the point where we can remove it ourselves, then we are to get that ability.
It requires Rank 5 in all ability gifts to purchase.
>>
>>38139268
We are honestly better advised to get Corruption higher so we can change the fragment with that.
Getting Fragmented Soul is currently pretty far out of our reach, because its requirements are very steep.
We would need 2 more physical mutations and Rank 5 in all ability gifts, of which we don't even have Dexterity and Intellect for which both Baalzamon is our only possible source.
>>
>>38139263
>we saw something was up with Lirael dead away
Because what was done to Lirael wasn't with the intention to deceive anyone.
>>
>>38139263
>Because what was done to Lirael wasn't with the intention to deceive anyone.
Ok then, still between our per and fel we are good enough to figure out this sort of stuff talking to him.
>>
>>38139268
>>38139379
In Addendum, if it were viable for us, because we somehow manage to get 2 Favour with Baalzamon really fast, I would be okay with offering Kae we'd do it.
It would be a pretty huge show of trust if she would agree, I couldn't blame her if she wouldn't.
>>
>>38139484
wrong link meant to here>>38139417
>>
>>38139499

I would be in favor of hitting some of those cops and mind raping them till they have a conscious.

Especially the leaders.
>>
>>38139572
We only get Baalzi favor by making them trust/serve us.
>>
>>38139499
Pally said that mindraping some of Kulrathe's squad would please Baalzamon if we made them super guilty and like the only way to fix it would be to turn on Kulrathe.

Also we could probably pull down another one by killing a shadow vamp or two when we kidnap one.
>>
>>38139572
I would consider that a pretty huge waste of time, to be honest.
Maybe one or two to make them spy on Kulrathe for us, but I'm not sure thats even possible if Kulrathe focused on mind-control and Auhtority gifts enough.

I think we get enough Favour huntign down that shadow vamp and mindraping him into teaching Lirael.
>>
>>38139499
Another option would be to find a way to get Mirror Favour and use that one to get Baalzi gifts.

Just Mirror favour is even more elusive then Baalzamon favour, but its another option.
>>
>>38139685

A shame we ended up losing a chance to get mirror gifts. Bet his higher gifts would open up mage paths.
>>
>>38139717
I'm not really interested in mage oaths, Shee really got enough powers to choose from, I rather get mage followers like Kae.

Some of his higher gifts would have probably been very cool, even some of the ones we know are really good, but we can only get them now by murdering his Avatars.
Unless we find a way back into his good grace somehow.
>>
>>38139717
Chaoscraft. We just need to find a psychic to teach us and master the right disciplines, who needs the Mirror?
>>
>>38139766
I bet we could ask the King if he knows any chaoscraft psychics. I'd totally do a job for that.
>>
>>38139766
The last thing I want to do is having to deal with those bullshit chaos magic rules for Shee too.
>>
>>38139796
But they're so awful, I agree, let's get Magnetokinesis instead.
>>
>>38139787
>I'd totally do a job for that.
While we're at it, we might want to do that with the demon ascension for our restaurant staff.
Would be useful to get their unquestioning loyalty and upgrade their usefullnes to us.

Should we ask any of them if they want to?
I figured Gambon and Ms Carter might be good choices, Gambon because he is already a experienced fighter, and Ms Carter because her loyalty would be invaluable, considering she runs the business.
>>
You know what I would really fucking love to learn?

Shadowcraft.

>Shadowcraft
>Shadowcraft is the ability to control and move through shadows. It has additional powers that may be discovered over time.
>Requires: Metapsionics Mastery, Psychoportation Adept
>Shadow Jumping
>Your teleportation abilities are enhanced in shadows.
>Check: Merely being trained in Shadowcraft gives you a +10 bonus to Psychoportation checks made whilst standing in shadowy illumination or shadows and a +20 bonus when in total darkness, Shadowcraft does not grant you the ability to see in darkness however. You are also able to create a stable portal whilst in shadow, opening a doorway that has two ends that are in entirely different locations. First you must use Psychoportation to travel from one location to the other, second, make a DC 15 Shadowcraft check and spend 6 psychic energy points, success opens a portal large enough for a single creature up to 3 metres tall to move through easily. You can make the portal larger by applying a -10 penalty to your skill check and spending an extra 6 psychic energy points extra 3 metres height of creature that can move through the portal easily. Creatures can move either way through the open portal, disappearing at one location and appearing at the other. Strong light disrupts the portal and prevents it from functioning but does not end this power. The portal is a featureless plane of black and cannot be seen through.
>If you do not have access to Psychoportation normally then Shadowcraft allows you to use all of the normal powers under it but only in areas of shadows or total darkness and does not grant you adept or master bonuses. You can however purchase peripherals for Psychoportation powers and count as a Master for qualifying for them, but can only use such in shadowy areas or in total darkness.

Darkness 5 lets us summon up patches of darkness that last for quite a while and it looks like it doesn't even require a roll. Synergistic as fuck.
>>
>>38139830
I really badly want to know what Chemokinesis does, it sounds great.
>>
>>38139876
We don't just get to turn people into demons for free. We need to set aside a King Gift to do it, IIRC. I don't think that any of them are worth a gift.
>>
>>38139922
It's basically Alchemy FMA style, except without having to draw circles and shit.
>>
>>38139796

Too complex, let alone spending points, due to how often people can't into math something that complex.

We have 23 base psychic energy. Of course once we get vampire powers, anything that doubles there and psychic we get bigger bonuses and 2 pools to draw from, both can power stuff.

So the pool will get a lot better, over time. We currently have 7 Baal favor, so can get rank 10 vampire powers.

Wonder if ranks in int items give +psychic energy too.
>>
>>38139937
Depends on what we get offered and how powerful such a demon would be.
>>
>>38139974
It also depends on if we need to leave the Gift unshaped and therefore not be allowed to see what's on offer or not.

>>38139960
I think that Chaoscraft might use an altered version of the rules that works more like replicating Chaos spells like they're psychic disciplines.
>>
>>38139960
Once we get higher FoL levels, we have basically infinite PE. We just give Sweet Blood as mutation to Rainya, and then feed from her and heal her with psychic healing for less.

Might even work without Infectious Form, I just can't remember how much vitae you got per drain.
>>
>>38140017
>It also depends on if we need to leave the Gift unshaped
Can't be, since we gave our gift to the former owner of the restaurant after shaping it.
>>
>>38140037

Well, PE is not really a problem, regen will help but a bigger pool is our biggest issue.

A few times we were running on empty due to pool size, 48 just does not last when spending 5-10 per.
>>
>>38140070
Pool size isn't much of an issue either, since Drain Life replenishes that pretty fast.
And with the mandatory Rank6 FoL, we have a vitae pool of 30.
>>
>>38140037
4 without Sweetblood, 8 with.
>>
>>38140103
Then it even works without, since feeding costs 3HP and 1CON.
Sweetblood would just make it faster.
