You stare dumbfounded at the small golden monster floating in front of you. Its eyes blink open, and the cloth around it slowly unfurls into long ribbons which seem to defy gravity and float around it. Then, it starts swooping through the air, doing small circles and flips, gradually becoming more precise in its control.

After a few moments, it floats over towards Jenna and Lisa, circling them as it tumbles and flits about. You’re not sure if it has poor control over its flight or if it’s doing so on purpose. Either way, it soon floats back over to you, positioning itself in front of your face.

“Who you?” you feel a voice speak inside of your head, the creature before you tilting to the side. It must be the one asking you.

You first gingerly reach out to poke the creature, just to confirm that you're not dreaming. Your finger prods against its stomach, and it smiles as you hear giggling invade your thoughts.

"My name is Ceil," you reply, withdrawing your hand, "Those two over there are Jenna and Lisa." You point to them as you say your names, the small monster following your gesture.

It floats over to them swiftly once again, pointing at them each in turn. You see their eyes widen as it does so, possibly because it was speaking to them as well.

"Who are you?" you decide to ask.

"Me Jirachi!" you hear it call out in your mind.

"Jirachi?" Lisa asks. It must have said that to them as well. It nods vigorously, floating in around in the air while smiling.

You try and think of something else to ask, but this is entirely overwhelming. This was supposed to be a monster of legend, but it was so small, just floating around and laughing. It was all so surreal.

"You're the legendary monster from the stone right?" you ask first, just to confirm your suspicions.

"From stone, yep. So comfy," it replies, landing on Jenna's head to rest.

"I expected something less....adorable," you comment, and the two girls nod in agreement, Jirachi giggling as Jenna's head moves underneath him.

"Does this mean you're stronger then other monsters because you're legendary?" you continue. There was no way that could be true. It was just so...small.

"Dunno. Never seen any for a while. Don't fight." Jirachi says as it flips over and down in front of Jenna, who hugs the small creature in her arms.

"So, uh, why are you here? Are you gonna stick around?"

"Saw the light. Woke up. Bright and warm," it says, snuggling up against Jenna, "Don't wanna go."

You suppose that was a yes. You really weren't sure how to feel about this.

You shake your head and wave the other two to follow you, continuing along the trail. No sense losing time after all.

"Is it true you can grant wishes?" you ask, seeing if what Thomas mentioned was true.

"Yup. I'm best at wishes. Can do three big ones, but then I gotta go after." the voices echoes in your head once again, starting off bright but getting somber with the last few words. Jenna seems to hug it more tightly afterwards.

"Ceil, this is getting really strange," Lisa whispers to you, "Should we just go along with this for now? I mean, it is cute, but it's still a bit odd."

Lisa nods in response, focusing her eyes around in the woods for any signs of trouble. Taking the opportunity, you slip back towards Jenna, who seems to be talking with Jirachi quite intently.

"Hey Jenna," you call out, "What're you up to?"

"Huh? Oh!" she starts, "Me and Jirachi were just talking about some stuff. She told me how he saw the moon up close once, and I was telling her about a bunch of stuff that's happened to me."

"So you're liking Jirachi so far?"

"Yup," she smiles, "I asked her if she wanted to be friends, and she said yes, so..."

The rest of the day is rather peaceful in terms of traveling, stopping for lunch along the way and having a nice meal, before setting out once more. You're out of the more swampy terrain now, in more hills and grasslands, but you can already see the woods you are heading to in the distance.

As you're walking along, you notice that Jenna has gotten a bag of sweets from somewhere. She offers you one, and you take it after thanking her. She must have brought it along with her from the village.

As the sun starts to sink along the horizon, you're already near the edge of the forest. The house in the woods you were heading too was certainly further in, although you weren't exactly sure how far. It might be possible to make it tonight, but did you want to be wandering the woods that late?

You pick out a nice clearing secluded by a few trees and begin setting up camp for the night. You set up both tents while Lisa gets a fire started. Jenna gathers firewood from nearby, making a game out of it with a few of the other monsters. Jirachi wins in the end with a massive pile of twigs and branches you didn't even see it gather.

Lisa makes a simple stew for the three of you, and you provide the rest of your monsters with some fare for each of them. Sylveon turns its nose up at your offer though, instead curling up on the ground near Lisa. Jirachi nibbles on some of the food you offer as well, tasting each one before deciding she isn't hungry.

Once dinner is done and the sun has set, you decide how to handle the tent situation. You only had two, which means someone would have to end up sharing.

"Hey Jirachi," you ask, "Could you make another tent?"

"Tent?" it asks, tilting its head. You gesture to the two already standing and it nods. Closing its eyes for a moment. A few seconds later, a crude structure of branches and a few blankets appears in the campsite. However, a few seconds later and it collapses.

"Sorry. Dunno how make tent," Jirachi mumbles into your mind. Still it got the materials for a tent together pretty well, although you're not sure why it was having trouble putting it together.

"It's fine," you say to Jirachi before continuing, "Jenna, you're going to have that tent all to yourself tonight, alright?"

"Can I bring Jirachi and Sylveon and-"

"Of course," you say, not wishing her to list all the monsters present, "Just be sure to ask them first."

She lets out a squeal of delight as she starts running about gathering up her friends.

"Which means it's just you and me in the other tent," you say to Lisa.

"How clever of you," she smirks before heading over to the tent. You follow shortly afterwards, curling your arms around her and going to sleep.

--------------

You wake up a bit later the next morning, noticing that Lisa has already gotten up. You step outside to find her making breakfast.

"Good morning Ceil," she smiles, "Mind waking Jenna up? Breakfast is going to be ready soon."

You nod, heading over to the tent, pulling the flap open to find Jenna curled up in a pile with all of her monsters as well as Jirachi. You recall that she also asked Riolu, but see him striking at a tree nearby. Up early as usual you suppose.

You reach down and shake her sleeping form gently, waiting a moment as her eyes slowly slide open. She sits up slowly, rubbing one of her eyes.

"Goo' Morrnin', Ceil," she mumbles, still half asleep.

"Lisa's going to have breakfast ready soon, so try and wake up okay?" you say.

"Hmm...'kay," she nods, slowly getting up. You leave her to her task and head back over to Lisa, who's starting to serve the meal. You start on your plate while waiting for Jenna, who comes out a bit later, still looking groggy. Jirachi looks equally tired, though you're not sure if she actually is or if she's just imitating Jenna.

Either way, they both seem to perk up after getting a taste of breakfast. Jirachi only takes a small bite of everything, but Jenna happily devours the food placed before her.

Once breakfast is done, you break camp, taking the extra blankets Jirachi conjured as you set off through the forest, seeking your destination.

Your pace starts off brisk, as you head through the woods trying to find the road once again. However, you keep seeming to get turned around. You'll find trees that you clearly recognize have been moved, or roots that almost seem to appear from nowhere to try and trip you.

As the day drags on, you find yourself getting no closer to your destination, not even seeing the road you knew led through the middle of these woods. As night finally falls, you see a familiar looking light in the distance.

You focus for a moment, using your aura sight on the distant light, which winks out as you do so. That could only mean that whatever was causing it was in fact a ghost. Based on the size of it though, you estimated it was the same size as Lana's lantern, but you didn't see her anywhere near it.

You brandish your swords as you start heading towards the light, warning everyone to be on guard. Lisa nods and draws her bow. Jenna holds Jirachi close and hides behind her.

As you get closer, you can make out the details better, you spot the lantern hanging on a branch overhead. Before you can get too close though, it suddenly blinks out, leaving you in darkness. After a few seconds, it reappears, hanging on a branch further ahead.

You tentatively follow after it, and it repeats the process once more. Seems it was trying to lead you somewhere.

You sigh. So much for that. At least you managed to confirm that this thing subsisted of life force like your blade did, although how it did so was questionable.

You continue following it, further and further into the woods. Eventually, it stops hanging on branches, and settles on a wooden hanging post, illuminating a house in the distance. It looked just like the one you'd met the mystics in before, but you didn't remember crossing the road at any point.

"Listen," you say, talking to the lamp, "I've done this whole thing before. If you want to talk then talk, but I want to know why you led us here."

The lamp sways slightly in the wind, but otherwise does not react.

"Ceil," Jenna says quietly, "I don't think lamps can talk."

You sigh, forgetting that Jenna didn't know about ghosts, "It's not a lamp, it's a ghost monster that looks like a lamp."

"Okay," she nods. You're surprised she accepted it so quickly, but move on.

You approach the door, slowly knocking at it with sword at the ready, prepared for whatever may be behind it.

It swings open moments later, revealing...

...Lana, looking rather tired.

"Ceil," she says curtly, "I was waiting for a while. Did you get lost?"

"A bit, it's really disorienting in these woods," you reply, sheathing your sword.

"Yes. That's why I sent Lampent out to find you," she continues, "Did you not notice?"

"Well, we did," you explain, "But I was worried it might not be yours."

"Understandable," she nods, "Please, come in. Shannon and my mother are already asleep, but if you wish to have a meal before you sleep the kitchen is open for your use. If you'll excuse me, I'll be retiring for the evening."

Before Lana makes it up the stairs, you call out to her "Hey, is it alright if I talk to you in the morning, I-"

"Already knew," she states, "It's the sword. We can see it, remember?"

"Right," you continue, "So then-"

"Yes. Morning. Goodnight." she interrupts. You don't know if it's because she was tired or because she thought it was obvious, but you shrug it off.

"Want to give me a hand with dinner Lisa?"

"Sure," she nods. Both of them follow you into the kitchen, and you look through the cabinets that you remember having food. You and Lisa decide to make some pasta using what you have on hand, Lisa taking care of the vegetables while you focus on preparing the sauce. It takes a while, but soon you have three helpings of pasta with a side of vegetables for each.

The three of you have a quiet dinner conversation, not wishing to disrupt those sleeping upstairs. You notice Lisa prodding a bit at Jenna to finish her vegetables, eventually getting her to relent. Jirachi seems to share her dislike for vegetables, though does try one of each kind.

After dinner is done, you make sure to feed your monsters and clean up the dishes you used. The three of you then head upstairs. However, since you only knew about two guest rooms from last time, you go your separate ways soon after, with Lisa pointing out the room she had used to Jenna, and then you and her staying in the room you used previously.

The bed fits the two of you comfortably enough, and you find yourself quickly falling asleep. However, you soon hear your door creak open, spotting Jenna standing there holding Jirachi.

"Of course, get in," you smile.

She grins, shutting the door behind her quietly before squirming into bed. Just as you try to get settled with the bed containing all three of you, you notice Riolu seems to be sleeping at your feet, along with Sentret. Sylveon seems to have wormed his way under the covers, and you can spot the two Spritzee nesting atop you and Lisa's heads.

As you try to get comfortable in the crowded bed, you can only be thankful that your other monsters are too large to fit.

Glancing down, you see that Jenna is resting peacefully, a content smile on her face. Jirachi has bundled itself up with its scarves while in her arms, also nodded off. With everyone else already sleeping, you decide to do so yourself, shutting your eyes and letting it overtake you.
