Old thread >>38190429

“Yes Rainya” you say “We are leaving” You reach down with your tentacles and grab Ash. You focus your psychic healing abilities on his, reading his injuries in a fraction of a second....and your own heart skips a beat.

Ash is dead.

Despite the sadness welling up in your chest you bark out “Everyone get close!” as your allies close in you prepare to teleport all of you, including Ash far out into the desert, whilst covering your tracks against anyone tracing your psychic power use. The Rainyas quickly recombine to make carrying them easier.

The world shifts around you and you are far out in the deserts, you can just see the Hive in the distance.

[PE 10/48]
[+2XP, Forged by Battle]

“Is everyone ok?” asks Kaelyn “Rainya?”

“I’m fine” says the lone Rainya

“Lirael?” asks Kaelyn

“No injuries” pipes up Lirael

“Shee?” asks Kaelyn, when you don’t answer she asks again “Shee?”

“Ash is dead” you say hollowly, holding his limp body in your arms “he’s...dead.” You try to ignore the burning feeling in your hand as tears well up in your eyes.

“Oh Shee” says Rainya, hugging you “I’m so sorry.”

“He’ll be back soon though” says Lirael, hugging you too.
>>
“Shee you’re bleeding” says Kaelyn in a concerned tone “your hand.”

“It’s nothing” you say “it just hurts a bit, anyway, we need to be moving, they could still find us.”

Kaelyn takes hold of your hand “Shee you’ve got bits of metal in you ha-AAAAAAAAAAAAH!” Kaelyn screams as she pulls a sliver of metal from your hand with two fingers, tossing it away.

“Shit, fuck, fuck, shit, fucking shit tits, fuck!” says Kaelyn eloquently as she shakes her fingers “Shee are you alright?”

“I’m ok” you say “what the hell was that?” Lirael and Rainya give Kaelyn identical shocked looks.

“Antinite” says Kaelyn “anti-magic metal, very effective against magical creatures, including vampires.”

No, no she can’t no, nononono.

“No!” you scream, hugging Ashs body to you “No, dammit he’s going to come back, no I don’t believe you, Ash, Aaaash!” Tears run down your face as you hold his body close to you.

“Shee, Shee we need to move” says Kaelyn “We can mourn later, but right now, we need to leave.”

We should do that, after removing the metal.

Kinda hope we fail a little, since it would make things a lot simpler, but I don't think it'd be in-character for Shee to not try after that display when she knows she can cause impossible thing.

I'm somewhat leery of using Imposibility here, we should at least remove the metal before attempting it.
Anti-Magic stuff will probably make it impossible to use Imposibility to fix him.

No, our Imposibility is weak to anti-magic stuff, thats the one thing we can't cheat.

>>
>>38194743
In light of the anti magic point I would like to change >>38194844 to Family.
>>
>>38194991
Family can't bring people back.
Really only Corruption would have been the other thing that could.
And honestly I'm not sure I want to see that.
>>
>>38194950
Alternatively, he posted before voting as one of the non-vote posts.

>>38194957
Take the corpse, yes, but why would we give him a grave? We just need to dig out the antinite and we can then use Impossibility.
>>
Ok, vote is tangled especially with write-ins to remove antinite or not.

So I'm calling Final Destination in 5 minutes, sorry to slow things down but currently I'm seeing more votes than IPs

It will be simple yes/no vote regarding bringing him back, removing antinite and which aspect to use.

If removing antinite, then it is assumed you will not be doing that here, but instead taking him back to the waystation.

Each Aspect has potential flaws if it works in bringing him back.
>>
>>38195022
Because I don't want to bring him back?
I find it cheap from a narrative point of view, since losing someone dear to her is a great opportunity and far better than trivializing character death.
That being said, I understand people voting to make the attempt, since its something Shee could try if the thought comes to her.

And in case he can be brought back, its better to bury im in our realm and then have Shee weep at his grave and him rising then. From a "how cool it is" point of view.
>>
I doubt any of them will bring back the real Ash. They'll all probably change him in some way.
>>
>>38195064
I don't see it as particularly tangled, but if you want to give people a chance to revote after realising the anitinite thing, I'm fine with that.

>>38195110
Thats pretty much guaranteed.
>>
>>38195064
Which of these leads to him being devampirised? I imagine impossibility might, if it was antivampirite that was killing him, or perhaps corruption.
>>
>>38195010
Aspects are pretty open-ended in what they can do, so it might be able to, but Family is weaker than Impossibility right now. Though it might be more relevant, I'm not sure if relevance gives bonuses or if it's just a Y/N as to whether it can be used at all with only Aspect level being taken into consideration.
>>
>>38195125
Ironically, before a few threads ago, Corruption could have done it.
>>
>>38195127
I will be so fair to remind people Ashley is not affected by Family Aspect right now, so while seemingly appropriate, its the one least likely to work.

Rather than bringing him back, I'm hoping impossibility circumvents the anti-magic effect on ressurection. I doubt it will actually.

Our Imposibility Aspect is specifically weak to anti-magic stuff. Whatever plan you go with, hoping on it doing anything to work against the antinite is doomed to failure.

Corruption is a little over half Impossibility's strength, though. Even if Corruption would normally be a lot better for this than Impossibility (which is debatable, as a magical creature resurrecting magically after being slain by anti-magic is so many levels of impossible), it probably won't exceed Impossibility.
>>
>>38195282
No, but Imposibility is bad against stuff done by antimagic.
If the antinite gets removed, using Corruption to force the body to be what Shee wants (alive), seems like the best option, since having been slain with anti-magic might make Imposibility still less effective.
So supporting the natural rising ability, especially since Shee is sort-of vampire now too, seems like our best shot to me.

>>38195769
We explicitly stood there because we were content to let Rainya decide, actually. We might have shot him ourselves otherwise.
>>
“I’m going to bring Ash back” you whisper “He’s not dead, I refuse to let him be dead, I want him to not be dead.”

“Shee are you crazy?” asks Kaelyn “that’s a spell so powerful even Elder fae need days of preparation before trying it.”

“I am impossibility!” you scream “I Am That Which Should Be! I can do this and I will!”

“Alright, alright!” says Kaelyn, taking you by the shoulders “but not here alright, besides, we need to get that stuff out of him”

“Yes” you say, nodding “yes, you’re right” and with a thought you are back in the Waystation, on the stairs up to your Realm, your allies with you.

You run up the stairs, Ash held in your tentacles.

“Shee that’s not a good idea!” says Kaelyn running up after you, to Rainya she says “grab a plate from the kitchen would you, and a medical kit, and lots of tweezers.”

To Lirael she says “can you help Rainya please.” They both accede to her requests.

“Why not here?” you ask Kaelyn, bursting into your realm and creating a table for Ash, along with a rack of surgical tools.

“Because” says Kaelyn, taking one of the tools and touching it to the slivers in your hand, the tool...blurs when it touches the shards of metal still burning your hand. When Kaelyn draws the tool back, the tip is just...gone.

“Your realm is magical” says Kaelyn “normally that’s a good thing, but here...”

“Oh” you say “I didn’t, I wasn’t, I don’t know how to, Kaelyn please, help me.”

“Of course I will” says Kaelyn, as Rainya and Lirael return with the supplies. One of Rainya takes Lirael elsewhere as the rest of you work on Ash, with him lying face down you work as fast as you can, removing all of the bloody slivers of metal you can from him and dropping them onto the plate. To get at some of them you need to cut into his flesh, by the end of it, Ash’s back is a bloody ruin, many of the slivers went into his heart.
>>
I'm not giving up hope until I see an OP post confirming it was >19

better to see the world as it should be!
>>
>>38195866
No, we wanted to interrogate him instead of killing him, but Rainya shot him before Shee finished the first question.
>>
Once you are satisfied you reach down inside yourself and focus on the part of you that break boundaries, that defies limitations, that accomplishes the impossible. You place your hands on Ash and combine your aspect with your healing powers.

“Live” you whisper to Ash “live..”

For a long time, nothing happens, then Ash twitches and rises from the table, sitting up “Ash!” you yell in joy, hugging him, “Ash you’re back!” He doesn’t respond.

“Ash, Ash say something” you say to his blank face “Ash..?”

“Kaelyn what’s going on?” asks Rainya.

“Ash” you say, shaking him a little “Ash speak to me, please?”

Ash says nothing

“Shee” says Kaelyn quietly “Use your powers, try to contact Ash’s mind.”

Of course, maybe its damaged from being dead for so long, you can use your telepathic abilities to fix that!

You focus and your mind reaches out to Ash and finds...nothing. No mind, not even an empty one, just, nothing.

“Ash” you say, not quite ready to believe it “Ash, please, say something...Ash...please..?”
---
Several hours later and many attempts to restore Ash’s mind, you’re curled up in a ball on the beach, still crying, Rainya, Lirael and Kaelyn are all around you, hugging or stroking you as you cry. Your hand still burns, the slivers still in there, you don’t care.

Nearby, Ashes body is still sat up on the table you created, not speaking, not reacting, doing nothing except...living, somehow.

We're in a war. A war with Reunited and their followers. The best thing we can do is to keep the body alive and imprint a fanatical devotion to us in it.
Other than that, we don't need him.

I hope we use the infernal focus rifle Ash got us to kill the Mirror person. Use Ego Humbling Strike and crank the damage so high that they vaporize.
>>
>>38196137
In real life? That's completely right.
But this is a game of survival. We can't be weighed down, we can't have weak points. And Ashley, a man who -presumably- went against our advice and caused this to himself, and became emotionally invested in a vampire that was a sadistic prick that wanted to rape us with all his friends. Do we need him? No. Is he a liability is we fix him? Yes. Is he worth it? I highly doubt it.

I honestly don't think this has anything to do with the Crimsonthorns.

Once the tears stop flowing you get unsteadily to your feet and wander over to Ash.

“Shee you don’t have to do that” says Kaelyn, Rainya catches on too “Shee don’t” she says “We can do this.”

“No” you say “no, I should do this, I did this, its my responsibility.”

You walk up to A- up to the body, sat on the table, still living somehow.

“Ashley Kellens” you say, your voice a hoarse whisper “I’m sorry, if I had been a better friend, if I had kept you out of this somehow I...I’m sorry Ash...goodbye.”

You release the hold your powers have on Ashley and he falls backwards, you catch him before he hits the table, laying him down gently, and closing his eyes.

Your friends come up beside you and hug you as you stare at your friends body, dead because some unknown person wanted to use him against you.

“Do you want to bury him here?” asks Rainya quietly.

Lirael is silent, Kaelyn says “Not to sound cruel but shouldn’t he go back to his family, I mean if we bury him here, there will be a missing person investigation won’t there?”

Your response

Too bad they've given us (me, at least) a hateboner for the Mirror and this Avatar in particular. Feud eternally.

If the Five are only allowed one avatar each, why kill this bitch?

Lets capture her and psychically lobotomize her. And maybe physically do it too.

Fuck mirror out of an avatar and get us our own personal mage slave. We could probably even steal a few spells or mirror abilities from her by having her hit us with min-power gifts/spells and using absorb spell to take any good ones.

As far as it's been implied, Ashley doens't have any mind, that means zero memories. So I don't see how he could help us in any way. It'd be nice if we had some advanced technique to mind-heal, or something, but we just don't have that.

Your oath of vengeance on the one that took your family member from pleases the Ichor in the Depths, she offers 1 of 4 Gifts

Blood Control – You gain Blood Control 3 and Poison the Mind

Strength of the Mothers Love – You gain Strength of the Mothers Love 3

Wishcrafting – You gain Wishcrafting 4

Form of the Deep Mother
You can spend Psychic Energy to transform into a massive sea monster, increasing your strength and durability. This form can breathe air, but is more powerful in the sea. Higher levels include increasing its strength, size and durability.
Whilst in this form the costs of many of the Ichors gifts are reduced.

Blood Control 2 adds the following ability:
Corrosive Blood Spray: Whenever you are injured with a non-energy-based melee attack your blood sprays your attacker. You can affect anyone who attacks you in melee and deals 1 or more hip points of damage to you with Corrosive Blood. This lowers the cost of increasing the damage of Corrosive Blood to 2 psychic points per 1d6 additional points of damage.
Blood Control 3 adds the following ability:
Toxin Resistance: Your unusual blood makes you more resistant to poisons and diseases. You add your Favour of Ichor in the Depths rating to any Constitution check to resist poisons or disease.

Blood Control Additional Powers

Poison the Mind: You can inflict derangements and insanities on those you damage using Corrosive Blood. This costs 5 psychic energy and you do not choose the specific mental disorder the target suffers from but you can pick the general theme (i.e. addiction, hallucinations, phobia, memory loss etc). The target gets a Willpower roll to resist and the effect lasts for a maximum of 1 day per point of Willpower you have.
Requires: Blood Control 1

Strength of the Mothers Love
You gain strength from the proximity of those you care deeply about. These can be close friends, family you care about, or anyone you want to help and/or protect strongly enough.
The bonuses are limited by the number of those you care about and the number of times you have selected this talent. To be counted as in proximity you must be able to perceive them (typically within 3 metres plus 1 metre per +1 you have to perception checks based on sight or sound) or in your line of sight. All bonuses are morale bonuses.
At Strength of the Mothers Love 1: As long as you have one or more of those listed below nearby you gain: a +2 bonus to Will checks to resist any mind-affecting powers or abilities; and a +1 bonus on all skill rolls and ability checks.
>>
>>38196677

Yes. I want it.

>>38196779
Too bad that that only works if they drink our blood and if they fail their saving throw.
>>
>>38196807
At Strength of the Mothers Love 3: As long as you have three or more of those listed below nearby you gain: a +3 bonus to all defences and to Will checks to resist any mind-affecting powers or abilities; +2 to strength, fellowship and constitution; and a +3 bonus on all skill rolls and ability checks.

At Wishcrafting 2 you can nominate a single psychic power or gift you posses. All willpower rolls when using that Gift or power benefit from a +5 bonus when being used to grant wishes. You can make a Fellowship check against any creature that can see, hear and understand you; if successful the targeted creature must make a wish immediately for something they want. This is a telepathy effect. You can choose to grant this wish or not.
At Wishcrafting 3 you can nominate a further 2 powers or gifts (3 total) to gain the bonus from Wishcrafting 2, and the bonus rises to +10.
At Wishcrafting 4 you can nominate a further power or gift (4 total) to gain the bonus from Wishcrafting 2, and the bonus rises to +15. You can twist wishes – when granting wishes you no longer have to thematically follow the wish to use Wishcrafting, only the wording of the wish. The QM is the final arbiter on what constitutes following the wording of the wish, but the whole point of this ability is to allow the players to subvert the intent of the wish, twisting it to their own ends.
>>
>>38196783

“Whoever did this” you snarl “no matter who, or what, no matter what I have to do, I will hurt them, I will make them pay, this I swear.”

“Shee don’t you think it’s a bit early to-” says Kaelyn

“I swear it in the name of the Five” you say grimly “They will pay!”

You can feel a new shape growing within you, one you can call upon when needed.

[Form of the Deep Mother gained]

“Alright, alright” says Rainya “Ok, but not now, ok Shee?”

“No” you say, calming down, realising that storm clouds have begun to gather overhead you concentrate, and they thin out, until the sky is a clear blue again.

“As for...as for Ash” you say quietly “I’ll deliver his body to his parents, in a bit, I just want a moment to be alone for now.”

“Of course” says Rainya quietly “We’ll get dinner started, won’t we, c’mon Lirael, Kae. let’s go.”

The three of them leave and you’re left alone with Ashs body. You wonder where it all went wrong. Should have pushed him away more, so that he was never involved at all?
Should you have taken him up on his offer to hunt the Gouger with you, perhaps training hin and teaching him would have kept him alive?

You slump down on the sands, your mind running through all the what ifs, the choices you made, how they could have been different, how it could have been better.

The light in your realm has gotten quite low before you notice, shouldn’t it be lighter in here?

The shadowy black dragon drifting slowly down from the sky answers that question.

“Baalzamon” you whisper, scrambling to your feet “What do you want?” you’re in no mood to deal with him right now, but your pain at losing Ash could do with a convenient target.

“Want? Why nothing my dear” says Baalzamon, his massive claws doffing into the sand as he lands, his long body coiling around you until you’re in a small circle of his body, his head looking down on you.
>>
“I simply came to chat” he says “about...how Kaelyn will be such a *good* servant to me.”

“What are you talking about?” you say “Since when is Kaelyn your servant?”

“Oh in about an hours time” says the Darkness, grinning down at you.

“I don’t understand” you say.

“Our bargain” he chortles “you kidnap one of the shadow vampires and they teach your friend the powers of the shadows.”

“And I’m going to do that” you say “I have days left.”

“Their shuttle leaves in an hour” says Baalzamon with a grin “They’re at the station right now, waiting, now you could attack a major shuttle port to capture one, but that would be quite a risk wouldn’t it?”

“You didn’t mention this!” you snap at him “this would have been really useful to know!”

“You play your games” says Baalzamon with a grin “I play mine.”

“Even if I don’t grab one of them” you say “Since when is Kaelyn yours?”

“Since the bargain was about her” says Baalzamon, shaking his great head in amusement “She was what you bought, her freedom with our bargain, if you fail, then her freedom is what you lose.”

“There could be other ways for Lirael to learn shadow powers” you say desperately.

“Hmm, not the deal we struck” says Baalzamon, examining a claw “not the deal at all.”

“Then I could go to one of the others” you say “Jagganatha, the Ichor in the Depths, The King of Hell!”

“You’re free to do so” says Baalzamon in a casual tone “but you spurned them once, their prices may be higher now, or...we could renegotiate...”

Your reaction

I want to remind everyone that at no point Baalzamons deal specified Lirael has to LEARN the shadow powers from the vampire.
Only that we have to capture one, and Lirael has to learn the powers, he never said she has to learn them from the vampire, nor that we need to keep the vampire for any amount of time.
>>
>>38197270

That'd be even harder than kidnapping one of these shadow dudes in an hour, and if we're already going to have to capture one of them for any amount of time, we may as well use him.
>>
>>38197678
Its best to do this as quietly as possible. Get in, find vamp, Subtle Apport him somewhere outside where Lirael and Kae wait for him.
>>
>>38197739
I'm just saying we should keep that in mind, we could for example read his mind with Psychic Surgery to get that info and teach Lirael ourselves after getting FoL.
We don't NEED to keep him, if it comes to that.

Here is the quote.

>Question: It feels like Shee is running from crisis to crisis. Is this a reflection of the choices /tg/ makes or the planned feel for the quest?

>Pally: Little of both. Quest players appear unlikely to seek out plot and so I bring the plot to them. If the players actively try to solve problems they can confront them on their own terms as it is they appear to be content to just react.

/tg/ likes slice of life, but in the grimdark of this world it seeks to strangle all life.

“Alright” you say, getting to your feet and walking towards your Realm entrance “I guess I better get ready to attack a public shuttleport, if nothing else this is going to be interesting.”

Using your tentacles you scramble up the coils of Baalzamon and down the other side.

“Are you sure you don’t want to discuss another bargain?” asks the Dragon of Darkness

“You’d just draw things out and delay” you say “So there’s no point” you’re almost to the door.

“But this one is simple” says Baalzamon “you just need to-”

“Not interested” you say, closing the door behind you and heading down to explain the situation to your friends.
---
“So let me get this straight” says Dev “We need to infiltrate a shuttle port, where people going off world or coming here arrive, with all its security and fae magics and guards, grab a shadow-using vampire and take him alive, and get out again, without getting killed?”

“That’s about right yes” you say.

“What the hell” says Dev with a shrug “I’m in, what do you think, warmech or power armour?”

“You can’t” says Kaelyn “don’t put everyone in danger again just for me!”

Rainya rolls her eyes “Shee is going to do it” she tells Kaelyn “Her martyr complex is quite developed, guess I best go get my armour again.”

“Can we steal a spaceship?” asks Lirael curiously.

What is the plan?

Attempting sublety is best. Guns blazing should be a plan B. We don't want the others coming because we don't want them identified, linked to us, or targeted. Impossibility should help us with teleporting the guy out, but it doesn't lock us into a particular action.

I did not ever vote for Ballz, just so you know.
But even seen in the light of everything that has happen, we have no excuse for not think things through or hearing him out.
>>
>>38197922
I think we'd be using her Telepathy modifier and access to mastery bonuses (not the number bonus, just the pseudo-feat benefit) backed by Shee's Willpower score and Corruption aspect with an additional +2 on top of that.

So a +51 with a bonus of Corruption, which doesn't have specific numbers.
>>
>>38197994
My only issue with taking Kae is that it's impossible to conceal her from other fae. Fast acting backup is good, but there is a cost to taking her along.
>>
>>38197817
>>I sneak up to a vampire and teleport him out

We grab a vamp, then teleport him to where our friends are. Lirael gestalt. She really wants to steal a space ship though.

Everyone nearby, we teleport the vamp to them then subdue him.

Too bad we cant just aport a few grenades into the engine room of the ship.
>>
>>38198004
Any idea if that'd be easier or harder than teleporting?
>>
>>38198004
It uses the highest total skill +2. It doesn't add our Willpower to her skill, sadly.

>Too bad we cant just aport a few grenades into the engine room of the ship.

>>
>>38198021

It isn't, she can still use a Illusion to hide herself.

>>38198028
We would still need to teleport.
>>
How big is the shutle? Could we just cut it's engines with Artifice or something?
>>
>>38198030
Huh, you'd think a gestalt would take the best pieces from every component-mind. It's still a +42 with Corruption and Mastery, assuming the Gestalt can pull Shee's aspects.

>>38198027
>Too bad we cant just aport a few grenades into the engine room of the ship.
They'd probably just get another shuttle, they probably have the clout for that.
>>
>>38198078
That wouldn't really help us in capturing the guys.
>>
>>38198093
Yes it would. If the shuttle is broken, it gives us far more time than an hour to do it.
>>
>>38198093
That depends on where we cut the power, also >>38198100
>>
>>38198089
[Psychic Gestalt: You can combine your powers with one or more willing psychics, this requires that at least one of you has the Mental Contact power. A Psychic Gestalt can only take one action per round but uses the highest psychic skill modifier of all the psychics that make it up, plus an extra +2 per psychic beyond the first. It also draws Psychic Energy from any of its members (or other resources such as vitae) as required to use its powers. A Psychic Gestalt is a composite of the minds that make it up. Members can withdraw at any time.]

So it would be 38. Liraels +36 +2 gestalt bonus.

>>38198100
Since we don't know how often these sutthles fly, or for how long we could disable it. Äh no.
>>
ok, roll 2d20, I'm assuming you'll be enhancing your senses for this, to spot the vampires at least.
>>
>>38198048
Sure, we can conceal her partially, but fey sense other fey, and she's on a high priority want list. It increases the chanecs of something going wrong whilst somewhat reducing the impact of such a consequence.

Also if she is identified, we're identified, and her fey father suddenly has an excuse to intervene against us directly. (I think catching the mastermind of a terrorist attack on an airport could justify the dedication of a vast number of resources, regardless of one's reawakened status.)

Also I'd want the others nearby, in case we actually do get teleport jammed. They aren't going to be any help in the desert in case we find ourselves blocked by wards.

Its Reunited, and they can't target those anyway. Only people that can turn into shadow forms in that case, which there is a good chance the shadow vamps know includes us.
Not to mention going Ruler of Shadow would kill everyone around us.
>>
“We’re going to keep the danger to a minimum” you say “I’ll go in alone, Kaelyn, Lirael and Rainya will be nearby in case I need help, but the plan is very simple, I sneak up to a vampire, grab him and teleport away.”

“And when your face is caught on the cameras and posted on wanted posters, what then?” Asks Dev, folding his arms

“It won’t be my face” you say, your appearance blurring into the non-descript shape of someone else. Around you all of your allies react a little differently.

[Shadow of the Depths 3 gained, -5XP]

Rainya grin, Liraels says “Ohh, can you be me Shee, be me!”

Dev nods, looking impressed and Kaelyn folds her arms and shakes her head “It won’t pass” she says “you’ll get spotted by security.”

“It only needs to work long enough for me to get close” you say “After that, it doesn’t matter.”
---
You’re at the shuttleport, according to Baalzamons timescale you have around 40 minutes left before they’re due to leave.

Kaelyn, Lirael and Rainya are outside, it’s early evening, and you’ve recovered, at least a little.

[HP 41/147, PE 13/48]

Getting in was the easy part, you wander around, looking for a group of creepy shadow-vampires, this place only has a single terminal, this should be easy.

And it is! You spot a group of pale-skinned vampire reminiscent of the one you saw in Ashs dream, but it looks like they’re about to go through a security checkpoint, including needing to show a ticket. There are six vampires there and there’s a crowd between you and them, you might just get there if you hurry.
>>
>>38198290
I'd be down for it. Doubt we'd get through the wards tho.
>>
You could just rush them and grab one, but the fast approach might tip them off.

You could follow slowly, but would need to buy a ticket or get past the security checkpoint another way, and it looks like they have at least one mage on duty there.
Or you could try and damage the shuttle and delay their flight. This place has six shuttles waiting outside on the pad though, and you don’t know which is theirs.

You know that most wards against magic or magical abilities inhibit or suppress all relevant magics anywhere within their area, however it is possible to make ones that only affect magic *passing over the line* - allowing magic to be used freely within the area as long as it does not pass into or out of the area in question. These types of wards are cheaper and easier to make.

Thanks for the chance to choose, Pally. You're the best.
>>
>>38198955
Ready to leave when it all goes well.
>>
>>38198955
No its perfectly fine location, it would have just been good to know beforehand.
We can't really decide location because we don't know what it looks like outside the port anyway.

I'm not mad, I was just abit aggravated by having not knowing where they are, because that was important for obvious reasons.
>>
>>38198947
I don't really hate Baalz. He just acts according to his nature, and is honest about what he is in his own way. I mean, he openly claims to be the master of deception. It's pretty hard to misconstrue what that means Do you hate a snake for being a snake?
>>
>>38198955
Optimally I would want them outside in the Desert, but the winning vote asked for them to be outside the port, so that doesn't work.
So Alleyway is fine.
It would have been nice to have it be described ahead of time though, I agree.
>>
We can use Lirael's vitae pool in gestalt for the domination attempt, right?
>>
>>38199016
Yes. Also for any other power, so we can use it to fuel our next teleport jump too.

>>
>>38199055
He did let us know this was going to happen, that's not very bad.
>>
You know, Baalzamon didn't have to tell us at all. He could have just let the shuttle leave and the pop up and tell us that we were fucked with nothing we could do, but he decided to give us a chance to fix it instead.

Yeah, he was a bit of an asshole about it by waiting until the last second and trying to leverage more shit with it, but he could have fucked us on this so much and instead he gave us a chance to not get fucked at all.

He's still a slimy cock though.
>>
>>38198947
Does it even matter what they think of Baalzamon?
>>
You shove quickly through the crowd, ignoring peoples protests and head for the vampires as quickly as you can. They’re almost all through the checkpoint you just need to touch one and then you can-

As you’re just reaching out to grab a vampire it suddenly turns and grabs you by the throat, lifting you off the ground “what are you doing?” asks the tall pale vampire in the dark clothing and long coat.

“What’s she doing? What’re you doing?” asks the security guard at the station, reaching for his gun.

Not an ideal situation, but still, close enough contact to grab this vampire. You focus on teleporting, being somewhere else, not in this shuttle port and the world around you shifts and you’re not in the shuttleport anymore, instead you’re outside in the alleyway, the vampire still holding you up by your throat.

[PE 5/48]

“What the...” says the vampire, its pale face contorted in surprise, still visible despite the shadowy lighting in the alleyway this late in the afternoon.

Kaelyn, Lirael and Rainya jump at little at your sudden appearance but are otherwise unsurprised.

No that was quite nice.
A shame we didn't hear him out
>>
>>38199039
I just view his entire being as a force of nature, rather than an individual. He acts deceptive, he betrays, because he is the essence of betrayal and deception. You expect him to betray you with every deal he makes. He is compelled. Revenge against him is pointless. (The Mirror on the otherhand strikes me as someone who is more of an individual, given how he reacted to his plans being spoilt. Though the metaphysical aspects of the Mirror are a lot more difficult to define compared to Balzy)

Your mind and Liraels link together and as one you lash you, attempting to overpower the vampires will. Your joined mind barely gets to touch his before he is wrapped in shadows and gone.

“What the...?” says Rainya in disbelief.

“He teleported” you say, not really believing it yourself “he teleported so fast we couldn’t even touch him.”

You all look around to see if he has gone somewhere nearby, but he is nowhere in sight.

Still...your still joined mind with Lirael can detect a lingering echo of teleportation....

Follow him?

You should put something under Divert Teleport that we can't divert quickened teleportation powers or shadow teleportation. I would've asked to quicken the Dominate if I had known that, since I expected him to do something like this.

That would technically fulfill Baalzamon's requirements.
>>
>>38199997

>>
>>38199997
We wanted to hoard our XP for FoL, we should keep doing that.

>>

>>
>>38200018
We would only learn Shadowcraft, not the Shadow Power.
>>
>>38199997
Hoard.

Always hoard.

I am the XP dragon.

>>38200018
I don't think that'd actually work? None of the shadow stuff seems like it'd be absorbable, we couldn't absorb shadow arms from the Emissary and there's nothing else that's directed like that. Not sure if we could teach Lirael either, since it wouldn't be the real Shadows power, though we might be able to extrapolate more Shadowcraft (psionics) from it.

What was the condition for being able to learn Shadows ourselves again?
>>
>>38200043
Shadowcraft for psychics is the same thing as Shadow Power for vamps.
>>
>>38199943

So basically, need to tie up major over hanging plot points before we go ahead and some slice of life or romance?

Was there any chance to save Ash, or did not healing him kill him?

And was our delay in resing him to remove those slivers bad?
>>
>>38200061
The Shadows power is a 20 rank power under vampire abilities. They are not the same thing, though Shadows can access some Shadowcraft abilities and grants a bonus to them.

>>38200069
>need to tie up major over hanging plot points before we go ahead and some slice of life or romance?
But we keep getting more plot points...
>>
>>38200060
>we couldn't absorb shadow arms from the Emissary
Because we were in RoS mode and that locks us out of using non-Baalzamon gifts while it's active.

We could have copied his stuff if any of it actually hit us before we went RoS.

>>38200060
>What was the condition for being able to learn Shadows ourselves again?
We can either rip it out of this guy's head or we can get it once we have Primacy of Blood.
>>
>>38200098
Maybe we should take some more initiative then
>>
>>38200061
No they are seperate things, read the related entries.
Shadow Power gives access to a form of that, but it goes far beyond that.
>>
>>38200069
>Was there any chance to save Ash, or did not healing him kill him?

Once Ash got hit, psychic healing wasn't going to work until the slivers were removed.

Theoretically teleporting him to a hospital as soon as he got hit might have worked.

>And was our delay in resing him to remove those slivers bad?

It raised the DC to help him, but without removing them, Impossibility had a very high DC anyway.
>>

Oh, right, that was the condition. I knew there was some condition or another, but I thought it was something else.

Fuck the mess a mind reformat would cause. We likely missed the DC by one too.

I liked them as characters. I felt that after baal adjusted Quinns mind, he could have been an ally, as he was given a conscious. Must be uncomfortable for a vampire like him.

Well most of the possible companions we could pick up as extra help are dead. Yonsoul is some bad info from getting killed too.

Too bad we didn't push to port ash to us naked without anything.
>>
>>38200580
unless she has something to negate it. Mirror is going to be coaching her to take us out as much as he can without the others kicking his shit in. She's likely a chaos mage who has a ward to negate drains.

>>38200599
Not supposed to, but that knife was equally good against vamps and he might have just hinted at the explosion bit as a good idea.
>>
>>38200599
I think the anti-magic knife was so Ash can't revive.
Our enemy probably got told by Garrax we follow Ichor strongly, so he went after Ashley to hurt us, since he was the easiest target of those close to us.

>>38200630
We might need to tell Yonsul she needs to take a vacation for a while. She is not as vulnerable since she is together with other cops all the time, but we need to take precuations.
The same with Dev, we need to find away to make sure he can instantly contact us if something is up.
