>Things have just gone from crazy to FUBAR, as the resident Plot Explainer has just given you a half-assed description of what's going on but never really explains anything.
>At least you have your waifu-to-be, Noel Vermillion, by your side.
In short:
There's a hipster bastard by the name of Terumi trying to screw everyone over for the lulz,
Noel Vermillion, the cute blonde lieutenant, is apparently someone really important (and may or may not want the D),
Ragna the Bloodedge, a mass murderer and terrorist, is destined to end the world (except you dropped him down an elevator shaft and may have killed him),
Major Jin Kisaragi is a psycho bro-complex yandere who you had to knock out and arrest because he's a giant asshole,
Noel's friend Tsubaki is in love with Jin and will probably be pissed that you arrested him,
Rachel Alucard, this loli bitch vampire, apparently claims to have created you,
and you, Warrant Officer Ben Herald, were made out of magic by Rachel to kill Ragna, except for some reason Rachel never went through with it.
Confused yet? That's basically how the Blazblue universe rolls, sadly.
>You have some experience with Ars Magus, the magic of this world, particularly sonic Ars.
>You have a pistol, rifle, and a re-enforced, hand-and-a-half waraxe.
>Additionally, you have about 255 dollars left to spend.
You're at a hotel, contemplating your own existence.

>QM's Note; This will probably only run to 11 PM or a little later because I have some obligations to meet tomorrow. Please understand.

As you lie in bed, trying to get to sleep, you calm your mind by resetting your priorities.
There's dealing with Hazama/Terumi, waifuing Noel, finding out more about who you are and what you can do, trying to deal with Tsubaki before the inevitable conflict, or perhaps even preparing to fight Ragna the Bloodedge when he inevitably rises from the grave.
Sighing, you feel as though you're going to have to start prioritizing things.
You're Ben Herald. You know that for sure. But who else are you, and what do you want?
First and foremost...
>I need to find out who I am.
>I need to protect Noel.
>I need to score with Noel.
>I need to get stronger.
>I need to kill Terumi/Hazama/whatever that bastard's name is.
>I need to get ready to fight Tsubaki.
>I need to get ready to kill Ragna the Bloodedge.

>Getting stronger is my priority right now.
Rachel said you had some sort of power- you were designed to destroy the Azure Grimoire. Now, form what you've heard, the Azure Grimoire is pretty powerful.
Maybe if you can tap into whatever it is that is designed to destroy the Grimoire, you might be able to boost your fighting abilities.
This might get dangerous, though. You'll need to find some way to hone your skills so that when the time comes, you'll be able to control that power.
Noel said she was good at Ars Magus, and agreed to train you.
But what kind of Ars do you want to try to focus on?
>Strength-Boosting Ars

>Speed/Movement Ars

Sound manipulation seems like an underused ability- and it may be abusable with the right training and quick thinking.
For some reason, the words 'Big Blast Sonic' ring out in your head.
You're just tired, though, right?
Satisfied that you have set a goal for yourself, you fall asleep.
The next day, you wake up drearily. Looking outside, it's dull and somewhat cold. Probably how high up you are in altitude.
Whatever. Time to...

Existing your room with what little you came with, you throw your bag over your shoulder and walk over to Noel's room and knock.
A couple of mumbles from inside occur as she stumbles awake.
"I'll be out in a minute..." She mutters.
>Go down for breakfast
"I'll be at breakfast. I think they serve it here."
And indeed they do.
Nothing special, just some bare essentials. It's a Western-stlye mini-buffet breakfast, with eggs and milk and muffins and a waffle maker.
You sit down with whatever you're eating and wait for Noel to stumble downstairs.
She manages to look cute even while grumbling about how early it is, taking a single muffin and beginning to eat it.

>You okay? You don't look so good.
"You sure? Yesterday was as bad on you as it was on me, if not worse."
"I...I said I'm fine... I... Don't want to be a burden on anyone anymore. I want to get stronger, like you said."

>Let's make sure we're ready for combat. Sparring.
"I think we should spar, followed by Ars training. You should be able to beat me in hand-to-hand combat. You've been to Military Academy, and I haven't."
Noel nods, a bit hesitantly. You get the feeling she's intimidated by you being larger than her.
"Well, um... Sure. But... I think we need to get back to base before that can happen. And that means we have to talk to Tsubaki. She's not going to be happy."
Crap, that's right.

Watch out for crazies and Terumi. Especially Terumi.

Walking though Kagutsuchi, you get a low feeling in your stomach, as if several people were watching you.
As you arrive at the port, you see a figure in a strange set of garb. It's cream-colored and has this weird, white mask on it.
Is this someone in disguise?
Noel blinks for a few seconds and temporarily squeaks in terror as the figure removes their mask.
Behind the mask, there is a young-looking, redheaded girl.
"Oh my gosh, Tsubaki, you scared me!" Noel yells.
"My apologies, Noel. I just came as soon as I hear about Jin being arrested."
"Um... ABout that, well, there were a couple of problems with..."
Her eyes narrow. "I'd be correctly willing to hear the report later, but... who is he?"
She looks at you with a deconstructive glare, trying to find flaws with every turn of the eye.
>I'm Ben Herald, her inferior officer.
>I'm Ben Herald. I was charged with hunting down Ragna the Bloodedge, and succeeded.

(Way to go for the badass boast first, dude.)
She looks at you with a gaze that lies somewhere between disbelief and offense.
"Excuse me if I don't believe you. Ragna the Bloodedge is an SS-class criminal, capable of slaughtering entire cities if given the opportunity. Are you sure that you did not simply take the credit for Jin ifghting him?"
Noel jumps to explain. "Well, Ragna fought Jin and nearly killed him! While he was trying to go further inside, Ben cut an elevator shaft and Ragna fell hundreds of meters! Thre's no way he could have survived a fall that far!"
This seems to anger Tsubaki rather than appease her.
"Of course. Noel, I'd like to talk to Officer Herald myself."
"W-What? But I..."
"I was given direct orders from the Imperator to investigate this case. I'm sorry, but we can talk later."
Noel looks somewhat torn, and sad at seeing ehr friend act so harsh.
>What is it you need to tell me that Noel can't hear? She helped defeat Ragna, too.
>I'm telling the truth.
>Noel, it'll be okay. Just listen to her for now.

You smile.
"Noel, it'll be okay. Just listen to her for now."
Noel timidly steps off to the side and onto one of the airships, going inside. When she's gone, Tsubaki turns to you with a cold glare.
"Now, you may explain yourself."
"May I please see the order?" You hold out your hand. "Also, what Noel said was true, I used my brains and stealth to-"
"Silence. You will see no order and you will remain silent."
She sheds her exterior cloak to reveal a suit similar to Noel's, except far less revealing and colored cream like the other one. The weird eye-hat thing doesn't help either.
"I, Lieutenant Tsubaki Yayoi, hereby arrest you for conspiring with known terrorist Ragna the Bloodedge!"
Your jaw almost hits the floor as you hear her say this, but even then it takes a few seconds for you to realize she's being serious.
>Okay, what? Please explain.
>Are you serious?
>Did you send Noel in because she couldn't hear this, or that you didn't want to scare her?
>I have had it up to here with people picking fights with me. Explain YOURSELF, now.

"Are you serious...?"
"Completely!" Tsubaki takes a fighting stance, holding the red blade she carries ready to strike with.
After a few seconds, your face sinks into amusement.
"Oh my God... You're actually charging me with conspiracy because I arrested your boy-toy? Come on, woman! Whatever Ragna's presence does, it makes him go crazy."
"BOY-TOY?" If possible, she becomes MORE angry. "You think that I treat Jin-nee-sama as if he's merely an object?"
"Hazama probably put you up to this, didn't he?"
Tsubaki seems surprised. "What? How do you know that?"
"Hazama's been trying to peg me for something one way or another. He also happens to be the one that took Jin into custody. Maybe you should have your chat with him instead."
This stuns her for a bit.
"But that deosn't make any sense..."
>Nee-sama? Noel said you two were close, but...
>Yeah, can we just not? I'm sure Jin will feel better once he recovers. Hazama is planning on waiving the charges to save face any way.

"He said as much, and Jin losing Hero status would upset a lot of people, including his family. Of course, he said I'd be given a hero's reward too. Considering he gave you orders to assassinate me, you might want to find Jin in case he was lying."
You continue. "As for me- I'm a NOL officer, so I have pride enough not to run, and you're Squad Zero- you'd find me anyways."
Suddenly, slow clapping appears behind you.
It's Hazama, shit-eating grin and all. "Well done, Lieutenant Yayoi. You've succeeded in a secret test of character. You passed with flying colors, by the way. Jin is safe in custody with me, and all of the things he did will be attributed to his heroic courage to pursue Ragna the Bloodedge- doing the right thing against orders."
"Captain Hazama!" Tsubaki smiles. "I'm so glad to hear that. Are there any other orders you have for me?"
"Just returning to base, for now. I'm proud of you, I really am. We might even place you under the Major once he's healed."
Tsubaki nods. "Thank you."
"Oh, by the way, Ben, I have a few words to pass on to you. Secret, you know."

There's the general quarters, the pilot's quarters, the engineer's quarters a general study, a small kitchen, laundry, and even a small recreation room with a small television and couch with end table. These ships seem very large and fancy. But I guess with magic you can deal with that.
The maintenance room is locked off, as is the cockpit. Tsubaki is in the study, while Noel is nowhere to be found. You assume she's in her room.

You haven't derailed anything but Terumi's plans. He's That DM. I'm just watching to see how far you can fuck up/fix the Blazblue Universe.
Noel was feeling bad because she still feels like she needs to be protected- it's a major character flaw of hers to feel that she's powerless-can't do anything.
Tsubaki is considering Ben a meh character. Though trying to hit on her best friend seems like it could earn a stern talking-to about responsibility and shit.
She doesn't suspect Terumi. After all, he just magicked away all her worries in one fell swoop.
