"Susan! Over the top! We've got some bandits that we need to have a chat with!" Susan pushes the tank forwards, bringing it over the crest of the hill. Immediately you take fire from another BMP on your turret, but your tank shrugs it off and you roll down the other side of the hill, amongst the rusting wrecks of the tank graveyard.
"What's the plan, Edelweiss?" Megatron calls over the radio. "You want to take this on together or do you want us to range out around the flank and give them what for?"

>Link up with Megatron and clear the graveyards together

"Megatron, you push up through the centre, we'll range around the flank."
"Roger that, Edelweiss. Our armour can take any hit, so don't worry about us!"
You direct Susan to weave amongst the wrecks along the edge of the graveyards. You stay buttoned up, not wanting to get your head blown off by autocannon fire. It's a little harder to see, being limited mainly to your commander's scope, but it's better than the alternative.
You hear autocannon fire nearby, that is soon silenced by a BIG gun. "Scratch one!" Megatron calls.

As you round another wreck, another BMP comes to a halt in front of your tank. Susan immediately puts on the brakes, but isn't quick enough to stop a light impact. The BMP-2 seems about as startled as you are, the commander unbuttoned and yelling for his crew to turn the turret.
"Susan, back us up!" You cry into the intercom.
"Copy!" Susan replies tersely, shoving the tank into reverse.
"Sarah, fire when ready!"
She wordlessly slews the turret around to face the BMP. The BMP opens fire, its shells jarring the turret and creating a deafening noise. You see Pearl covering her ears out of the corner of your eye.
"Firing!" Sarah says, and the breech of your L7 rocking backwards and spitting out the shell casing.

The shell crosses the tiny distance in an instant, smashing through the front of the BMP's thin armour. The ammunition explodes, sending the BMP commander flying to land some distance away, out of sight.
"Kill number two for Edelweiss," you call over the radio.
>>
You refer to your map quickly, tracking your progress. You've pushed north significantly. If you head west now, you'll push right into the centre of the marked location of the bandit camp. With Megatron coming from the south, you'll catch them in an L shaped ambush.

However, the bandits could have spread out by now. You could continue north and then make a long sweep towards the west, trying to hem them in towards Megatron. Or you could get onto the high ground to the east where you'll have the elevation advantage again.

"Susan, bring us to that high ground, we're gonna get destroyed if we keep having close fights like this. Our armour's too thin."
"Copy that," Susan says, steering the tank eastwards.
Your leopard climbs the hill with a modicum of effort, going over the crest as another autocannon opens up on you. How many fucking BMPs were out there, anyway?

Susan brings the tank around and back to the crest. It's too steep to hull down from properly, but it affords enough elevation to give you a good overview of the battlefield.
To the south, you can see Megatron blazing a path through the graveyards, surrounded by burning BMPs. From up here it's like the graveyards have come to life, with BMPs and others disguised as wrecks now driving every which way. You see a bunch of vehicles driving north, retreating at full speed. Right now they're still within range of your gun, though.

And then there's the tanks within the graveyards. You can see two T-62s driving towards Megatron, three more BMPs setting up in defensive positions, and something you can't identify sitting in the centre of their camp. Whatever the mystery vehicle is, it's squat and flat, like a pancake, with a large rounded turret that nearly covers the whole deck. It's painted Russian OD green, so you can't pick out any details apart from the silhouette.

"Sarah, you see that tank sitting in the middle of the camp?"
"The sketchy blob lookin' thing?" she asks.
"That one, let's take it out."
"Roger," she replies, lining it up. "Firing," she says after a moment. The breech rocks back, spitting the shell out of the barrel. The AP shot flies true, hitting the tank on the edge of its fat turret.
To your absolute astonishment, you watch as the AP shot simply disintegrates. The tank then starts to rotate towards you, slowly because what you assume must be a shitload of armour strapped to it.
"Target still up," you say, stunned.

Erich loads another round, and Sarah fires as soon as he's finished. The second round bounces off the top of the turret, ricocheting away.
You don't like the look of the cannon that is turning to face you.

"Back up, back us up!" you say, watching nervously as the tank's gun turned towards you. It's hard to estimate from this distance, but that looked like a 2A20. More than a match for your tank. Susan backs you behind the hill and out of sight, just in time. You have her drive left in the cover of the hill. You want to sweep around the north. The tank was facing south, towards town and Megatron, so if possible you want to get behind it. Even if it turned towards you, it had to split its attention between you and Megatron.

You cross over the hill and back into the low grounds at a saddle, crunching over the half buried wreck of an M60 as you do. A BMP crosses your path, seemingly one of the ones retreating. You put a round into its engine block and continue on your way, the crew bailing out to keep running.

"Megatron, we got trouble," you broadcast.
"Yeah wot? Bandits can give us trouble?" Megatron shoots back.
"Yeah, there's something we can't ID in the middle of the bandit camp. It's fat, stout and our gun can't penetrate it. It's got loads of armour."
"What kind of gun?" Megatron asks.
"Looks like a 2A20," you say.
"Feh! You're going to need a lot more than 115 millimetres to penetrate the MEGATRON. Don't worry about it, chap, we'll handle it."

A new voice breaks in over the radio. "Megatron and unknown leopard, this is Cherepkha. We ask that you give up this fight immediately."
"Ha! Hahahaha!" Megatron starts laughing. "The Turtle? Here? That's the funniest thing I've heard all month!"
"We are the impenetrable tank of the east, Megatron! This time we will destroy you!"
"You've made a big mistake, chap. You've trapped yourself in close combat with us, not at the ranges where your armour will stop our gun. And no matter what range you are, you'll never be able to penetrate ours."
You hear some Russian mumbling. "Then we shall destroy the leopard and you will not stop us!" Cherepkha replies.
"Fat chance!" says Megatron. "That's our paycheck!"

"In the stories, the turtle won the race against the hare. You think you can keep up with the leopard?"
Megatron bursts out laughing, and Cherepkha seethes over the mike. "We'll see how your wit holds up against our gun." The mike clicks off.
"Good one Edelweiss! But they'll be gunning for you now, so watch out."
"We'll keep them distracted, and you can hit them," you say.
"Heh, optimistic plan, kid. Just try not to get killed."
"Wilco," you reply.

You continue to weave through the wrecks, turning back towards the south as you try and get behind Cherepkha.
Megatron calls in. "Seems like the rest of them are retreating now."
"Cowards!" Cherepkha screams. "Suka! When I get back to the base I'll shoot you all myself!"
Megatron chuckles again.

There's a moment of fear as a T-62 rolls past in front of you, between the tank wrecks, but it doesn't stop, and by the time you can react it's already gone, lost amongst the other tank wrecks. You wipe your brow and instruct Susan to continue. If you had arrived a moment earlier, it would've been you crossing in front of the T-62, and you're not sure you would have been afforded the same mercy.
>>
You burst out into the 'clearing' the bandits had made in the field of dead tanks, only to see Cherepkha backing out of it, to the west.
"Back, back!" you scream into the intercom, and Susan reverses back behind the cover of a dead tank. A tank shell smashes through the area you had just been in, penetrating one of the wrecks. Sarah is already bringing the gun around, ready to fire once you round the corner, but by the time Susan brings you back out to fire, the uparmoured T-62 is already out of sight.
"Megatron, he's trying to run," you say.
"Suka! It is YOU that are running from ME."
"Righto Edelweiss, we're gonna head him off. Slow going though, we're not as fast as you."

>"Don't worry about catching up, Megatron, we'll slow Cherepkha down."

"Proceed at your own pace, Megatron," you say over the radio. "We'll slow him down."
"Don't get cocky now. You're our paycheck, remember!"
"Copy," you reply. It's hot inside the tank, you realise. You and all your crew are sweating bullets. "Susan, you see where he went?"
"Yeah, I did."
"Right, follow him. Be careful at the corners, though. We don't know what's lurking behind them."
"Copy that, commandant."

You follow Cherepkha through the wrecks, coming around each corner only to catch a glimpse of the tank going around the next one. You're faster, of course, but tentative to catch up lest they're waiting for you with cannon loaded. You manage to catch them, with their turret out of position and enough of their hull out to take the shot. You order Sarah to snapfire, and the round goes low, bounding off the ground and into Cherepkha's suspension. It spits out chunks of broken parts, but keeps going, reversing out of sight.

"This isn't working," Sarah says. "We need something that can penetrate!"

"No need, Sarah," you say. "As long as we keep hitting their suspension like that, we'll cripple them long enough for Megatron to show up."
"Fine," she replies. "I'll try my best."
"That's all I ask," you reply. "Susan, let's keep moving."
You pop the hatch shortly in order to take a glance over the wrecks. Cherepkha is still moving, albeit slowly. You order Susan to halt until they start getting around the corner, and then you pull out to fire another snapshot, aiming low.

This round goes high, hitting the tank on its odd turret armour and deflecting away. You watch as the hatch opens and a smoke genade comes out, bouncing off the hull and onto the ground. You watch the commander shake a fist at you as he closes the hatch again, and the tank rolls out of sight.

The smoke barely obstructs you as you pull up to the next corner, but then you find that it's not the only one they've dropped. You curse. You can't lose them, not now!
And then you notice that the smoke doesn't stop them from leaving tracks.
"Susan, you see those tracks in the dirt?"
"Copy, I see them. Following," she replies. She pulls you around the corner, following the tracks. You're glad that your crew is starting to get the hang of this.
"BRACE!" Susan screams over the intercom.
There's the screech of metal on metal and you're thrown against the front of your turret.

"What the hell just happened!?" you cry, glad for your helmet. You look out through the scope and see a dark... metal pole? Something long and made of metal is lying across your sights, and when you look beyond it-
"We've crashed into them!" Says Sarah, looking through her own sights.
The metal pole was the Cherepkha's gun, rubbing against your turret. Your guns were crossed, like fencers in battle, and as the Cherepkha begins to reverse, the metal screeching comes back. Susan puts Fury into reverse as well.
"Gun's not aimed straight anymore," Sarah reports. "I'm not sure if I can adjust."
You're not sure if she should adjust. Firing the gun now could have very bad consequences. The Cherepkha doesn't seem to have the same qualms, as they aim their gun at you.

Susan puts it into reverse before you can tell her too, but the Cherepkha disappears in a cloud of smoke as it fires. Something goes CLANG somewhere below you and to your left, but nothing smokes and nothing explodes, so you think you're good. The smoke is cut through by machine gun fire, as your radio comes alive with the sound of the Cherepkha's commander.
"No tracks, become a pillbox! No gun, become a bunker! No armour, become heroes! Uraaa!" The smoke clears, showing the Cherepkha's gun split apart like some sort of gruesome flower, its front covered in flames. The anti-aircraft machine gun is firing, but doing no real damage, as the tank backs away.

>>
"Erich, get the gun unloaded. We don't want the gun firing now."
"Jawohl," Erich says.
"Susan, forwards! Ram them, but gently."
"Copy that Commander."
Susan drives the tank forwards, making gentle contact with Cherepkha, and then starts pushing it. The T-62, already reversing, gets pushed backwards. It tries to turn, but you shove it and pin it against a wreck. Susan keeps accelerating, the treads digging up earth. You open up your hatch just as the enemy commander opens his hatch.
"Hey, why don't you cut this out and-" you cut yourself off and duck, as the Cherepkha starts shooting with his pistol. "Fucking hell," you mutter. The Cherepkha's commander even throws another smoke at you, before he hops out and starts pulling out his crew with him. They jump off the tank and start running.

You pop out again. "Where the fuck do you think you're-" PING as the commander shoots at you again. "Fucker!"
"Not so fast, twats!" comes a radio loudened British accent. The Megatron springs around the corner, turret ready and commander unbuttoned, holding a cone to his mouth. "Stop or we're blowing you to hell!"
The Russian commander points his gun at the Megatron, but doesn't fire. In frustration, he throws his pistol at the tank, hitting one of his subordinates who is surrendering.
"I'll count to three," says Megatron's commander. Belatedly, the Cherepkha's commander raises his hands, unspeakable fury warping his features.
"Congratulations Edelweiss," calls the Megatron through his electronically enhanced speaker. "This guy's bounty is about 25,000 Rhinemarks! And you get to keep it! Mostly."
