Hey, this is on.
>>
>>38465391

>MFW I've got pancakes on my left, some ice cream on my right, and Wulin Hero Quest is starting up in front of me
>>
You're pretty sure you're going to regret this tomorrow, you ponder as you down what must be your dozenth cup of huangjiu, shakily putting it back down as you stare bleary-eyed at the bandit chieftain Bao Boqin down yet another glass...his twentieth you think.

He's laughing and slapping you on the back hard enough to make you cough, as you and many of the Bao Clan bandits surround a huge campfire where dinner is being cooked.

You don't dare stop drinking.
Sure, you got Boqin and his clan to admit their debt to your father thanks to his helping them during the conflict with the Flame Cult, but debt-by-proxy is a shaky thing, and you're guessing Bao Bolin isn't too fond of you the way you upstaged him like you did earlier.

'Good lad, good lad!' Boqin says as he slaps you on the shoulders, downing yet another glass. Twenty one? Twenty two? Oh god you're loosing your numbers now.

'Real men drink over their vows, isn't that right? Everyone knows that! Your father did too when he drank much at all! Good man Feng Renshu was, here's to him!' he salutes, drinking another (where does it all GO?)

>"He drink much with you?" [Inquire Feng Renshu]

>"How well did you know him?" [Inquire Bao Boqin]

>>
'Did you know my father very well?' you ask, coughing a bit as you down your next glass, trying to keep up and stay awake.

'Speak up son, a man shouts when he talks!' Boqin encourages.

'ID OO OW MA FADDA ERU WELL?' you shout....and realize you've been slurring your speech.

Boqin seems fluent in Inebriato however; and he scratches his black beard and thinks as he answers.

'About as well as anybody in the Alliance did I think. When we came back to the south lands he often consulted us on terrain and local landmarks. Truth be told he wasn't much of a strategist, though I suppose when you get as powerful as he is strategy's just an optional method. He sure could drink tho! Glad to see you take after him!'

'Ank oo,' you drivel, finishing another glass. What IS this stuff! Lychee wine? It's really good but it's stronger then hell.

'You can slow down if you want kiddo?'

Most overpowered skill ever. Our Mountain Hobo Lightning Fist pales in comparison. Even Kamushin would have to respect his overwhelming power.

'I...ah, ahm ood. Anks,' you gratefully accept.

'No worries kid. Wouldn't want you to think we're trying to get you blind drunk and slit your throat in your sleep!' he says, laughing with another pat on your back.

'Awaa?' you grunt unintelligibly, looking up at him with pleading dear eyes.

'Because we're not," he clarifies. 'Kind of an underhanded way to fight duels anyway, not my style.'

'Aooo. Oood,' you say, reassured.

'So no, I didn't know him that well I suppose. There was that girl who was always with him I guess. And the woman who became the Abbess of Emei Sect, but she seems to be pretty vehement about how evil he was. Methinks she's just sorry her mentor got her ass beaten so hard. Heard she's STILL salty about it, even now! How about you? You got a woman in your life, Lightning Tiger?'

'Ah ooople,' you admit, slumping a little.

'Hah! Old man would be proud. Heard you were in good with the Dragon Clan, that true? You full pirate? I can respect that. Not as good as being a bandit, but pirates are like water bandits, so almost as good!'

'Aah oh arry ow uuh ah Agon Aahn,' you say with a shrug that makes you almost fall off your log. 'Uuh Aoow Enhu eh ida uute. UTTS oooh,'

'Yeah, my wife gets pretty nuts when I even look at other women,' he admits with sad nod.

'Aoow abow en owa omen ook ah oo?' you ask, curious. You STILL haven't figured out how to deal with all that. Maybe if you keep dodging it it'll resolve itself.

'No idea, never been a problem. I'd probably just marry them too,' he decides after scratching his beard. 'That way it becomes my wife's problem and not mine, hah!'

'Aaary? Ooo ay. Eeyd ILL meh. Oor eeah ODA. Yeesh,' you say, shaking your head. Maybe his solution works best when all the women aren't xia.

'The trick is to make them argue with each OTHER kiddo, not with you,' he points out.

'See? You're already halfway there! You'll get the hang of it!'

'Aaybe I ood ecom a ONK. Oorks or anor aye I ooh,' you say sullenly.

'Boss! Someone's tripped the perimeter alarms a ways outside the camp!' he reports.

'Aye eel!' you say, leaping to your feet before falling on your ass.

'Uuuh..,' Boqin says hesitantly. 'No offense kid but you're a little...'

You ignore him, cross your legs and begin circulating your internal Qi fiercely, rotating Yin and Yang, causing lightning to spark off of your body!

'AaaaarrrrAAAAGH!' you grunt before heaving forward and throwing up a fountain of vomit.

The entire camp stares at you as you stagger to your feet, wiping your mouth.

'Okay, I'm good. Ow,' you say, stretching.

'What the hell was that?' he asks, looking at the barrel of puke in the ground.

'I circulated my internal energy to expel poison. Only what I expelled was the alcohol,' you explain, flicking your tongue as you try to remove the vomit taste from it.

'And that works?' he asks, surprised.

'I guess so, I've never tried it before. I have the WORST headache now though, so I'm in a mood to crack some skulls.'

'Hah! You're alright kid! Bring me my axes boys, we're gonna show the Flame Cult what happens when interrupt the Bao Clan's party!'

'I'll take high, you take low,' you reassure, drawing your saber and checking it's edge before tying the scabvatd to your back.

'Good idea. I'm a little big for those walkways anyway, hah! The ladder to reach them is-'

You turn, stepping once to kick off the ground and sail into the air, kicking your right foot off the nearest tree onto the walkway closest to you, running down the wooden platforms towards the disturbance, bandits climbing up along the ladders on the way to follow you into battle!

>INTERLUDE

'Haha!' Boqin barked, turning and heading towards the perimeter breach. 'Definitely like his dad. Alright you apes, let's go!'

>INTERLUDE END

The wooden slats beneath you rumble as you step along them, leaping a huge gap between the paths as it curves around a grouping of trees rather then following the path, making your way to the outer areas of the camp where the walkways overlook the jungle floor.

You hear the bandits following you, and you stop as five black-clad figures wielding paired short sabers flip into the walkway after swinging along the trees like monkeys appear before you!

'Flame Cult I presume?' you say, taking up a stance with your sword in your right, brushing your nose with your left thumb twice. 'I'm pretty eager to see what all the hubub is about!'

How about some fight music?
http://youtu.be/1fGuDgJMFhY

You straighten your grip and scar a circle in the wood in front of you at the very edge of your reach before taking up a sword form, tip of your blade pointed down!

There's a pause and the Flame Cult attacks, sabers swinging at your defense! Without moving you bring your sword up to parry, replicating the dazzlingly efficient defenses you experienced firsthand two months prior, your saber blocking attacks from the left and right effortlessly before pushing him back suddenly as you leave an opening with your sudden fierce resistance!

>'QILIN STRIDING SKY!'

you shout as your blade flashes diagonally twice, rising up once from his right thigh to left shoulder and down once from his right shoulder to left thigh, carving his torso open with an X on his chest!

>QILIN STRIDING SKY
>This stance mimics the divine untouchability of the qilin, remaining unmoving while partying offensive attacks with a grace even Heaven must admire before matching your foe's tempo and forcing an opening and counter-striking with brilliant accuracy!

The cultist falls, and you switch to Carefree Saber as you dash forward and meet the next goon's offense with one of your own blocking his attacks and striking back with a low cut to his belly!

The next tries to move in quicker, short curving sabers flashing out, forcing you back, your feet backing away along the platform! One comes so close you must bend back, vaulting backwards with your free hand into a somersault before springing back into place and slashing his throat down as he takes a step forward to try and catch you in mid-dodge unaware of how great your agility is!

You leap back with a laugh, flicking your sword to remove the blood from it!

'So THIS is the Flame Cult everyone was so scared of? Jeez, no wonder you guys lo-' you say, but a blurring dark figure leaps off a tree to your left side, flying in with a spinning ax kick that you're forced to back away from, the heel crashing heavily into the platform hard enough to shatter wood!

The fighter with the dusky skin glares at you before taking a totally foreign stance, elbows high up and one knee extended, his fists wrapped in thick hemp rope.

Aside from his very dark skin, he's got other weird physical features; namely his hair is this bright golden color like it's been bleached light, an his eyes are almost completely black except for the red irises.

'Chi Imbalance Mutations?' you mutter under your breath, recalling Zhu'er's condition. Must be something similar.

He makes a forward motion with his right hand before clenching it again.

"Bare hands, huh?"

Interesting note; Sky's preferred method of fighting (as stated in his fight with Honglan) relies so much on mobility and agility that he HATES being forced to grapple, and it's the one aspect of unarmed combat he's got very little training or expertise in.

Why do I feel like we should have kept our sword out?
>>
You bring up both fists ready for him to move, waiting to see how this foreign guy fights, but it turns out you weren't quite as ready as you thought.

You both step forward, your eyes flickering to his stance and defenses, looking for holes you can exploit.

There is a sound like a roaring explosion.

He EXPLODES forward towards you, a man-sized plume of flame bursting behind him as he leaves a flaming trail in the wooden walkway!

'WHA-' is all you can say as his right fist comes barreling in, hammering against yoir hastily thrown-up guard with both arms, impact force sending you skidding backwards along the wood!

He follows up with a series of brutal punches and lightning fast kicks to your side (your side? Kicks are usually aimed HIGHER...) that you're forced to use Lightfoot to retreat from!

"Son of a bitch...," you mutter, your arms numb from the impact of his punch.

That...that looked EXACTLY like Form Two! How did he DO that?
>>
>>38469301
Fire copy cats...
>>
>>38469301
Well, it was established that Heaven's Blessings and the Flame Doctrin's kung-fu are relatively similar. It's not too surprising they can pull similar tricks.
>>
>>38469301
>he leaves a flaming trail in the wooden walkway!
Probably not going to be a walkway for much longer then.
>>
He doesn't give you a chance to recover, barreling in with a flying right knee that you dodge before returning his attacks with a swift series of combination punches that he blocks before he returns a few of his own that you parry aside, circling each other before you spin in with a kick to his face that he pulls away from before leaping into another forward-flipping axe kick with you lightly dodge before throwing a right punch crackling with the power of Form One just as he throws a similar blow covered in burning flames!

Your fists connect with a heavy impact and there's a resounding BOOM as fire and lightning burst together at the point of impact, sending you both flying back!

"Rrrrgh! Form One two?" you mutter, inordinately pissed off. He's COPYING your FATHER'S STYLE!

"How do you know-?!"
"How can you-!?"
You both begin to say simultaneously, before snapping your mouths shut and narrowing your eyes at each other.

You go back to circling each other, your eyes looking for defensive exploits. His external style is all about explosive force and muscular power, lots of heavy impacts and direct speed. AND he seems to have mimicked Heaven's Blessings...or at least knows some kind of bastardized version of it anyway.

He's slightly less mobile (you think), and his defenses are hard to break through, so the only thing you can think of is tiring him. Your internal arts are exhausting to use extensively without rest, so his might have the same problem...
>>
>>38469573
Except he has a chi mutation, and those boost your efficiency when using certain techniques. And I'm pretty sure his mutation is fire-aligned. So...yeah, I don't think this plan is going to work.

You're pretty sure you can take this guy with Form Three, but popping THAT cork leaves you almost helpless afterwards.

You circle each other before throwing yourselves at each other's defenses again, his brutal punches and kicks battering at your arms and legs as you block and your lightning-swift punches hammering at his guard!

Finally you find a gap and land a fierce uppercut on his jaw...which he takes in return for one in the side of your face, sending you both staggering back!

"C-cross-counter?!" you mutter, shaking your head as he shakes his. He clearly wasn't expecting you to hit as hard as you do.

You circle each other, both breathing hard before you move in for another attack, lightning crackling along your right hook as he sends a flaming left jab your way!

You both pause as this loud horn blows, standing there frozen in mid-strike, fire and lightning crackling off your fists.

He breaks stance and the flame vanishes and he bows politely.

'Apologies,' he abruptly says before leaping off the tree and joining the rest of the cult as they seem to be retreating.

'Huh. Okay,' you say confusedly, lightning sparking away from your fist as you harmlessly discharge it.

'Hero Lightning Tiger!' a bandit says, arriving behind you.

'It's Sky. Nice backup by the way,' you quip dryly.

'Apologies! But the Flame Cult is retreat! Chief Boqin turned them back the ground assault and they pulled back!'

Yeah, but when that happens its mostly against those lame ass dork ninjas that go down in just one slice.

Meanwhile, this guy is facing us alone without his buddies butting in, so I doubt that we'd beat him if we switched to our saber. He definitely seems like he's going to be a recurring guy now.

That would be kind of awesome. It turns out that Renshu and Zhu Rong just went out on a road trip together and got really lost. The "six words" thing WS mentioned were "Hey, want to get a drink?" and it all spiraled from there.

Hey WulinSage, question. That arrogant guy who threw a stone at us at the start of the quest, is there any way we could have met him again in Book 1 with different choices?

No, the last Fire God was a man. The theory that Fire God was our mom was just born from a misunderstanding of the history of the name "Zhu Rong".

Alright, back.
>>
You make your way back to the floor of the bandit camp, finding over a dozen dead Flame Cult members, all missing limbs lying bloody on the jungle floor.
Chief Boqin happily hefts a bloody ads on one shoulders and waves to you with the other with a huge grin on his face.

'Hey! I heard you faced Fire-Eyes down and made him run! Nobody else here can do that but me!' he compliments.

'Fire-Eyes?'

'Fire-Eyes Nan, the guy with the hair and the punches,' he clarifies. 'He's the guy we most often see leading these raids. He must have been serious about damaging us this time; he snuck around the front line leading guys across the tops. Usually he goes straight for me. He never beats me though, we always drive them off. Getting to be a pain, this turf war shit.'

'So he wasn't Zhurong?' you ask.

'No, nobody's ever seen the new one, like Bolin said. Fire-Eyes is their best practitioner of their weird Yang-based internal art though. Others can do some of it, but not nearly as well as he can. He uses a saber sometimes too, but seems to mostly fight barehanded,'

'Huh,' you say, thinking.
You were right about the Flame Cult martial art being similar to yours; the principles seem different but the end result is extremely similar, TOO similar to be a coincidence.

But Ba always was insistent about keeping your techniqies a secret, so much so that he had you memorize the theories rather then write them down.

I'm guessing when Flame-Eyes reports back to Flame Cult, their boss should be able to put together two and two, and have a pretty good idea who this wulin stranger in the bandit camp was...
>>
"How many can fight like he does?' you ask.

'Like him? None. He's their best except Fire God himself I'd guess,' he says with a shrug.

'No, I mean make fire.'

'Oh that. Not many. Maybe as low as thirty or fourty. Less then half can produce flames as hot as him, and none of them can do that thing where he shoots forward real fast.'

You nod, thinking on that.
So they ARE being taught their fire-making martial art, but most aren't either as perfectly trained or simply aren't as good. And Fire-Eyes might not even be as developed as you are in Heaven's Blessing.

That's assuming there IS a connection and it's not just some weird coincidence.

'Who's hungry?' Boqin says, breaking your train of thought.

You look up and then look around at the bodies everywhere with a wince.

'Cause I'm hungry!' Boqin loudly proclaims.

"Why not, I gotta fill up my guts after horfing it all up before the fight,' you agree.

He laughs at that and you hear back to the campfire at the village center.

You have some kind of ridiculously spicy meay dish and noodle soup with garlic in it, and that awesome spicy Sichuan sausage you ate back in Chengdu.

'Who COOKS all this stuff? It's GREAT!' you ask as you slurp down an entire bowl of the sizzingly hot stew.

'The women do obviously,' Boqin answers, drinking from his wine bowl. 'Because me and the boys can't cook for shite, right boys?!'

The bandits roar in bizarre pride over their lack of culinary skill.

'You keep your families here?' you ask, surprised. You guess it really IS the Bao Clan, not just Bao Gang.

'Sure. Where else? Here we can protect 'em. Some know how to fight, but most don't. You like the soup?'

'Damn straight I do!' you say happily.

'Si Xiang made it,' he says, nodding over at a girl who suddenly walks over and abruptly plops herself around your shoulders. She has long brown hair and bright brown eyes and wears some fairly flimsy leathers for clothes.

'Hi pretty boy~! You like soup?' she says in the most atrocious Han you've heard since that huge guy attacked you.

'Xiang made it special for you,' Boqin says, waggling his eyebrows.

'Like soup hot? What else like?' she asks, fluttering her lashes at you.

You clear your throat and try to push her off but she's having none of it.

'What's with her...?'

'Accent? She's Yue, like a bunch of us. We're pretty far from the Central Plains remember. Some of the boys don't even speak Han. My mother was a Miao tribes woman for instance,'

'Make soup special~!' Xiang says happily.

'So where's here uh, husband?' you ask, looking around for him as you try (and fail) to remove her. Man she's got a good grip....

'She's not married, actually,' he notes with a smile.

'Greaaaaaat,' you mutter rolling her eyes. 'Why not? I mean, she's old enough...'

'She won't marry anybody else and we don't force that sorta thing,' he explains in a tone that suggests something like "what are we, savages?". 'She can cook and hunt and helps out around the camp. Nice girl. Short temper though. Smack her ass and she'll cut it off!'

'Yeah, not much danger of that!' you nervously say as she cuddles up and grabs your hand to put it on her thigh and you fail to pull away (man she's got a grip...)

'Good thing! Just as Lin!' Boqin laughs. 'Right Lin?!'

At his shout a man missing a right hand stands up and waves.

'That Lin. What a cad!' Boqin says, smiling at some joke only he is aware of.

Alright, I actually gotta stop here today (man that was too short) as something has come up.

Next time I GM I in a fit of nostalgic peak I will do a one-shot Gundam Quest taking place in unique timeline, akin to Banpresto's mish-mashed SRW's timelines where everything happens at once before going back to WHQ as per usual.

See you later Space Cowboy.

And YES it will have waifus. Wouldn't be much of a Gundam story without them would it?

I am from /aw/, the Awesome Board that only Awesome People can see.
I genuinely haven't been on /m/ in years, there just aren't many mecha series that have interested me in much the last decade or so so I have little reason to go there.
They're as awful as /a/ is sometimes anyway, just in different ways.
>>
>>38473605
will you continue tomorrow?
>>
>>38473761
Heh, nice gif.

But to be specific it will be taking place in the Space Era (SE) calender fifteen years after the end of the One Year War. It will combine elements of the UC timeline, the AC timeline, the CE timeline (SEED's plot elements weren't bad it just had THE WORST characters and stories that were almost scene for scene rehashed from the original series), and the 00 timeline.

The main character will be an OG-style hero and he'll bump into familiar faces. There will be strategies and explosions.

....fuck that faggot Jesus Yamato.
>>38473777
I certainly plan to.
>>
>>38473927
Sounds fun. What's the tech going to be like? You're mashing together series of wildly different technology levels. For example, in UC and AC everyone has fusion reactors, CE has batteries unless you're a top-end Gundam in which case you get fission power, and 00 has hydrogen fuel cells that get replaced by the end of the first season with matter-energy conversion. That's a pretty wide range of stuff going on.
>>
>>38473927

How do you feel about G-Reco?
>>
>>38474096
Baseline tech is Minovsky Fusion Reactors; it's the ONLY tech in the series that even comes up with a halfway decent reason why mobile suits even exist other then 'looks cool'.

Note that in terms of actual functionality despite having different tech, most mobiles all basically WORK the exact same way, and beam weapons are all called "beam weapons".

They even tend to work and sound like Minovsky particle-based weaponry in alternate universes where they AREN'T specifically that. Despite the changing nature of the tech in Gundam eras, functionally and narratively all Gundam series work the exact same way. There will be no GN Particle tech because that's the ONE hugely game-breaking technology since it's basically Jupiter Space Wizardry.

The governments will include the Earth Sphere Federation (the equivalent of the Feddies in UC, a Rich Man's Club ruled by wealthy Earths nations) which will have the internal political divisions SEED and Wing's Earth does, the Republic of Zeon, PLANT, the Titans (less powerful then they are in Zeta where they practically do the SS thing and single-handedly become the military), and the various minor factions found within those series.

Axis Zeon also exists but they have less support since the Republic of Zeon is NOT chaired by a yes-man loyal to the Federation but by President Garma Zabi, who survived the OYW and sued for peace.

Parts of Earth will be indirectly controlled by the Romefeller Foundation and it's military branch OZ, and Cosmo Babylonia will be an established space nation.

>>
>>38474324
Yeah, I know that functionally they all tend to be the same, but the tech nerd in me likes when there are a lot of different technologies in play. It's one of the things I liked in SEED, that there was a wide range of neat tech to mess with. Though oddly enough the tech nerd in me doesn't object to the many impracticalities of giant robots. I'm willing to compromise on some things, I guess.

Still, that sounds like it will be fun. Nice setting details, should make for really cool stuff to interact with. I'm looking forward to it. Especially once you posted >>38474395. Because you're right, fuck yeah De'an Zon.

A lot of the weirder stuff (Mirage Colloid, Phase Armor) will be used in ZAFT.
Having engineers genetically built to be very smart helps with advanced tech.

The Coordinator/Natural divide will still exist, as Coordinators are illegal everywhere EXCEPT PLANT where there entire society is build to accommidate them from the ground up.
