/tg/ - Traditional Games

After dying in a plane crash, our MC found himself reborn into a world of swords & sorcery similar to that of old JRPGs.

Now aged 14, Eldric has just fought a [ERROR] which was consuming the small villages in the north of the western continent, and rescued its victims, many of which appear to be 1/2 converted into [ERROR]s themselves.

On this quest thread, we try to throw in as many old JRPG elements as possible into the mix, from catgirls to "there are no dwarves" and other typical elements of the old games. Also, we like to make reference to Light Novels like Raise of the Shield Hero, Mushoku Tensei, RE:Monster, Fantasy World Harem, Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, Highschool DxD, Ideal Pimp Life, Word Master, and others.

Sup dude.
>>
>>38488739
The villagers will need to be put into quarantine. We need to figure out a way to erase [ERROR]'s, not just contain them in dungeon hearts.
>>
>>38488832
More like defragment or repair them. Erasing them would imply killing the "infected" people. If we can get rid of these friggin' chest burster-esque problems without resorting to cleansing victims in holy fire we should do so.

Hey guys, how do you do? I started reading another LN. Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha. Basically, MC is from a village of heroes (go figure, he's hero #352 or something, I guess?) and the lead female is the new demon lord. They made a master/servant pact, through which they both grow stronger the more they trust each other. This trust is cultivated through light BDSM, apparently, with gems such as this:

The plentiful maple syrup had dripped down from her breasts and ran down her belly over her navel, wetting the shorts she was wearing. Inside her shorts, which had become transparent from absorbing plenty of fluids, there was a warmth that couldn’t have been brought forth by the cold maple syrup.

It was Mio’s very own syrup, produced from the arousal.

C´mon... I know my writing is no masterpiece, but if this is the quality i'm up against, I may as well adapt the thread into LN format soon.

Anyway...

***

The villagers are in shock, it looks as if the process of transformation into an [ERROR] is quite slow, since you can easily tell the difference between those who were attacked first and the more recent victims thanks to how advanced their transformation has come along. Most of the first victims have been almost completely covered by the "infection", while thankfully retaining their humanoid shape, and the more recent victims only have patches of the infection here and there on their bodies.

As your group helps them, you realize there may be as many as five hundred or so victims. Mako looks at you with wide, scared eyes, clearly hoping you will help her people.

Three votes to build a field hospital

***
Having built an emergency building with cloth and temporal beds, the crew of the Ember helps make sure the victims are comfortable while Asmund (most people forget he's primarily a divine caster), Zoe and Mako try pouring healing magic on them.

Dinner has to wait a little since Asmund makes sure the patients receive their meal first, which takes a while since they are still unconscious.

Apparently he has pretty good beside manners.

"Do you think this was the only [ERROR] in the area?" -asks Lyann while cleaning up Eldric's cuts and wounds
"Uhmm... there's no real way to know, but the reports mentioned just the one monster. I'm more worried about them attacking more isolated places where we won't find out about it until its too late"
*sigh* "Well, what do you think we should do about that?"

Eventually, everyone has dinner together in the village. Many of the supplies from the Ember were brought down to the surface in order to help the village sustain the field hospital, and more will have to be brought in the future.

"It looks as if the effect is retreating now that they are out of that thing" -says Asmund- "I think they will recover in time, but it will be a chore to return them to their villages"
"Thankfully, the [ERROR] did little damage to the structures themselves. It would be awful to go back to a devastated place" -Mako adds softly
"We need a better warning system. We probably were lucky this time, but we can't count on being lucky like this again." -says Honoria- "We should try and prevent these things from attacking in the first place, or at least respond as soon as the first attack happens."
"I think we should expand the rockitship network, and add linked notebooks to as many places as possible. Not only are they convenient for sending high priosity messages, they will also be great emergency lines." -says Eldric after Honoria, and his friends nod.

"For now, we should organize a small event to lift the spirit of the villagers. They were just visited by a terrible thing, after all." -Honoria says after sipping a bit of her drink

Its just our old world sensibilities, but seeing a young-looking girl sip ale like that its just... well, she's a dwarf.

"That sounds about right. Just something small to lift their spirits and motivate them." -says Asmund

The princess greets each villager individually. A mix of beastmen and humans, they seem delighted to be able to speak to their princess.

Not for the first time, Eldric wonders what is the exact nature of the relationship between Mako's family and the beastmen. The humans are respectful as they should be, but the beastmen look simply awed.

Well, that certainly was a special event for the villagers, and they begin preparing a ritual, ceremonial pillar to mark the occasion.

Mako looked like a doll, sitting on top of a small throne all dressed up, her long, black hair cascading down her back.

"Good job" -Eldric hands Mako a glass of orange juice after it is all over.
"Thank you" -she says with a little smile

The princess accepts the glass and sips a little bit from it, then gently lowers it unto the table at her side.

There are many colorful, if humble, presents on the table. The villagers brought over the very best they could scrounge up on such short notice. In a sense, they are just cheap low quality goods, but Mako is holding them one by one as if they were precious.

She looks quite noble... perhaps princess-like? Eldric walks over and surprises her with a little kiss.

"w-What..?" she stutters a little, blushing in surprise.
"You looked quite beautiful, so it's your fault"
"i-I see....?"

He gives her a longer, more sensual one this time.

Going to end up accidentally turning this small village in a few years with the medical staff into a small town.

100 years afterwards it will be a larger town and people will point to when Mako came and led the fight of the creature as the founding of the place.

The room she stayed in will turn into an imperial shrine/temple with an important providence wide holiday held.

>>Spend the night there

That very night, a demonic figure lurked about in the ship. Restless, this creature moved unobstructed along the hallways, its bare feet making no sound as it carried a suspicious package in its hands.

This creature, it was acknowledged worldwide as a demon, or monster. Its horns were rather small for its kind, but very lustrous and smooth, with sharp ends. Its tail swayed behind it like a cat's as it strut forth. Its skin was pink to a tone that Eldric would have called "neon" back in his old world, and following that same criteria, its hair would have been called "bubblegum pink".

In short, it was not a very intimidating creature, despite its daemonic status.

It was dressed in pink silk, with a short, soft one piece dress, and decorative cuffs in black and pink on each of its ankles and wrists.

*knock knock*

"Yes, who is it?" -Honoria went over to the door and opened it a little bit, then more widely once she saw the demon outside.- "Dawn, what do you want? it is late"
"I thought we could play Truth or Dice with everyone!" -the demon said with a cheerful expression
"...alright, hold on."

Thus, a creature of legendary, seemingly endless stamina joined the demon and they prowled together towards the next girl's room. This relatively small creature had mythic-like status in this continent, and it was rumored to be able to drink any tough warrior under the table with ease.

Loud and boisterous, or so the legends say, her kin would drink and sing and celebrate and then go to fight and go right back to celebrating. And this was not any of them, no, it was their princess!

Thus, myth and demon reached Lyann's room, and recruited her before assaulting the imperial princess chambers.

This would normally be an impossible deed, but this small group had a couple of inside agents, willing to betray the princess and open the door to her chambers, since they were convinced the princess should play more.

And thus, a few minutes later...

"e-Eeeep!" -The princess had been taken by surprise as the demon targeted her.
"So?" -asked the pink demon- "Truth or dice?"
"Ah... truth?" -asked the princess
"Alright!"

They were sitting on the princess' bed. Lyann had donned a short, fluffy looking robe, while the rest of the girls wore night gowns or pajamas.

"Shouldn't we invite Stella and Zoe?" -asked Honoria
"I think they're too young for Truth or Dice" -said Lyann

"So, have you done ero things with Eldric?" -asks Dawn
"E-ero things!?"
"Yes, like... kissing, and... holding hands... and stuff.."
"A-ah... y-yes" -says the very embarrased princess
"Oooooh"

At the same time, Mako's shadows are sitting on the floor nearby, munching on a snack bowl.

"m-My turn now!" -Mako rolls a d4 and points to Honoria.- "Truth or dice?"
"Dice, I guess?"

Because of the rules in the game, the players were compelled to obeying the rules, answering truthfully or following the instructions in the dice.

Dawn's dice set was... surprisingly large, but they decided to only use the two "lightest" ones.

Thus, 1d6 said "kiss, lick and suckle" on its sides, while the other read "lips, ears and neck".

Other, more "mature" dice had more daring actions and mentioned plenty of other spots, but for tonight, they had been skipped.

"We could have invited Stella and Zoe if it was just this much" -said Honoria with a sigh

"Alright, then, what happens now?" -asks Mako
"Om nom nom" -says Honoria playfully as she leans forth and starts suckling on Mako's delicate neck.
"e-Eep!"

Mako's reactions are loud and fun enough to make her the default target or everyone's rolls, and thus she is kissed, licked and suckled thoroughly before it is time to sleep.

By the time they're going back to their rooms, everyone agrees that Mako is fun to play with, and to try it again as soon as possible.

Mako is in some of a shock, bright red, and covered in kiss marks.

Well, at least it doesn't looks like she will say any clichéd lines such as "I can't become a bride" or such.

"y-You meanies!" -she says to her shadows- "Why did you do that!?"
"It was fun"
"Yes, it looked like you were having fun"

They both say matter of fact.

"I... I will tell my sister!"
"Uhmm... we should prepare and-"
".acquire some of those dice, then"

They seem to correctly anticipate Ren's reaction.

Incidentally, Dawn's bust size has gone up a little bit. Perhaps she was really after a excuse to drain a bit of mana from the other girls?

Regardless, the girls had fun.

The next morning, the group starts coming and going with medical staff and supplies. It looks as if being out of the [ERROR] really will be enough to, together with proper medical care, return the affected villagers to normality.

For some reason, Mako seems rather clingy in the morning, sticking to Eldric a lot, and grabbing his sleeve whenever the other girls come by.

Having solved the situation with the [ERROR], now we should...

The following weeks, we dedicate most of our time to expanding the routes of the rockit ships, as well as distributing notebooks to as many places as possible, installing a primitive telegraph system of sorts.

We are quite busy with this and our golem, until Zoe's 5th birthday rolls around.

Since it will be just under a month before Okaba goes back, and we are not sure when we will see him again, we insist on his presence at the party.

Even so, it is a rather small party, in relative terms. Her classmates attend, as well as our and her friends, and it is mostly a quiet and tranquil party, complete with traditional children's party games.

As for gifts, she got a wide variety indeed, from the imminently practical to the girly. By the way, grandpa sent her a lovely, pure white summer dress with enough enhancements and bonuses to be a legendary class armor, yet girly and effeminate enough that we suspect Nana's hand behind it.

Well, it is convenient that she's done growing up. This way, we can easily give her clothes and they won't just end at the bottom of some chest of memories in a year or two.

By the way, most of her friends were either small children (of her actual age) or young people in their late teen years. Well, she's very mature and intelligent, so she has little problem in getting along with older kids.

These "older kids" were all human, elves dwarves, and majin, tho. Should we be concerned about it? Plenty of older beastkin boys and girls also dropped by, but it was mostly just a brief stop to give her a smooch, wish her happy birthday and hand her a gift before going away again.

All you other guys who came to her party, you DO know she's our little sister, right? stop looking at her with lovestruck eyes, you cradle robbers!

>Funny that the older beast kin have decided she is a perfect little girl who is smart and well mannered.

Well, people always have an easier time guessing the age properly within their own ethnical group. I imagine it would be even more true across such varied races.

For example, im 1/2 chinese. "Westerners" always shave off 5-7 years off my age, while eastern people guess it right on the spot with no problem.

Maybe for beastkin the actual hints to age are things like the curve of the tail or some other signal which other races dont pick up at all?

We go through her gifts. Almost all of it is perfectly innocent stuff that makes our heart warm up when we notice what good friends she has.

Stuff such as sweets, books, and plushies are preeminent among her gifts. There is also plenty of clothes, and gift certificates.

If you think it is strange to see gift certificates, perhaps knowing that they are all for shoes will help explain things. In this day and age, there is no such thing as receopts, so if a friend gave you shoes and these don't fint, you are stuck with them.

Having a certificate, you can go to the cobbler and have him make shoes just for you. So it actually makes a lot more sense than you might think.

As said before, almost all of her gifts are innocent, toughtful gifts which ooze affection and good intentions.

The problem is THAT thing.

A dragon dild-- no, I am sorry, I jest. If it was that, I would go out and dragonforce whoever gave it to her on the spot.

Honestly... looking at it, we can't help but to get some ??? to pop over our heads. What should we do about this off pair of small, side-tie panties and matching silk top?

They look... a bit too mature for her, and they are too low cut in the front and the back...

(see picture for reference)

...on the one hand, they're definitively what you would call sexy, aren't they? but... you know, thinking about it, they might just be the right size and shape to accommodate her tail. Yes, that's right, Zoe has a soft fluffy tail... these may just be the perfect size and shape to accommodate for it.

Is it a lewd gift, or is it a toughtful gift?

Alright, so it was... is Kalna a boy or a girl's name? honestly, it is not a name we have heard before. Asking Lyann about it reveals... absolutely nothing. It is one of those names that can be used for boys or girls.

So we ask our childhood friend/sweetheart to find out who Kalna is, discreetly.

As it turns out, it is the name of a elf girl. One of her classmates.

Well... that certainly calms down our older brother worries, does it not? *sigh* It was probably just a toughtful gift by a girl who has some trouble figuring out Zoe's actual age based on appearances, or maybe she just wanted to be thoughtful.

Well, we feel a lot better after figuring that out, so we look around for the gift box and start repackaging it.

"Eldric, what are you doing? its cake time!" -Zoe came looking for us

She drags us off to the lounge so we can sing for her and have cake after that.

Yup. our big brother heart feels much more at ease now that we know she is surrounded by wonderful, innocent friendship the way a girl her age should be.

We are still feeling all warm and fuzzy when the party ends, and everyone starts saying goodbye.

When Kalna hugs Zoe, the way in which she smiles as she hugs and smooches her is a bit worrying but... nah, it's fine, right? she's just adorable, so lingering a bit and pampering her is normal.

It's normal, right?

Our older brother heart is worried again. Zoe, please grow up as a healthy girl.

A week later, Okaba calls us over, to let us know that he's managed to piece together the teleporting platforms thanks to the shards and bits we got for him.

Eldric please, if she wants to grow up loving other girls you should be supportive.

"But that's forbidden love!" -says Eldric, and then runs off

"Well, I haven't been able to make it work for short range travel, however." -says Okaba while having some tea, sitting across from us on the lab

Aura seems to be having fun scratching on a notebook, tho whenever we take a look, it looks absolutely incomprehensible. Is it some sort of magic spell?

"So, it is easier over long distances, right?" -we say after a few moments
"Yes. It is quite vexing. As you may remember, I can make personal keystones that allow you or Aura to teleport directly next to me, but the platforms work on a different system altogether. Of course I can tell they are meant to work over short distances as well since they were placed on the keep, but I can't figure out how that works yet."
"Well, that's not really a problem, is it? we can always just walk from a room to the next"
"Of course, but the limitation vexes me"
"I think its not a problem right now. We should instead decide if we will make this available to everyone or not."

>Lets keep it for our own use. I see no need to make the rockitships obsolete already

Are they linked, like gates are, or open ended portals? Can the destination be reset or is it set on stone on creation?
>>
>>38496743
Its set on literal stone, but surprisingly cheap to make. Can easily have a "terminal" wil multiple arrival and departure platforms.

brb gonna get a bite while you guys reply

spys and sabotage are what come to mind.

I think we're reading a bit too much into it. Some people are just affectionate. Besides, elves are pretty much subs by definition. Only way something will happen is if Zoe takes the initiative.

>Lets make it piblically available. It would turn the great capitals into a single mega city.

Airships are never obsolete. Short distances, exploration of uncivilized areas, that scenic view, the luxuries afforded on one, the freedom to go anywhere at any time, raining death from above...

That's like saying if we got teleporters people'd stop buying cars. It'd put buses out of business sure, and there'd be no rush hour traffic anymore, but otherwise things remain the same.

Also, it let's us control the gates better. It would be a disaster if a gate were to be captured and used by demons.

The problem with gates is access. What if the demons got ahold of them. They already behave like a pandemic, do we really want to give them more 'disease vectors'.
>>
>>38496594
>Give it to the other leaders, re1uesting it only be public aftwr the next demon invasion.

These demons are a zombie plague and can run over places easily, don't want to give thwm too many vectors to travle at once.

That and some distance between these newly friendly nations would be nice. Boarders and other things exist for a reason, and having borders two open can lead to problems, like in the EU. Especially when none of these nations have mutual trust and a history of cooperation. I imagine every merchant in the world would have an anurism after all the ways this messes up trade comes into effect.

Why did I think of Aura Shurifon? I miss that character. Wish that series had seen more action

I dont know anybody who saw it and says s/he doesnt wants to see more. I wonder why we haven't gotten more, considering that.

Well, Japan has no taste, look at what happened to Birdy the Mighty as a sample, I guess. Great visuals, great plot, GREAT setting which could be explored forever, and only 2 seasons
