Erina Kinushima enters the fray! Edition.

A continuation of Wednesday's KRSQ game - http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/38469314/

In last thread, Erina awoke to Makoto not being home, discovering that she'd been kidnapped by the Shibata clan! After hearing the terms of release for Makoto - give them the proprietary Lime Energy Lockseed and Driver, or else Makoto is put into further risk.

You decided to stick it to them, and try to fake the deal, only to reveal and use the Driver in order to beat some good sense into these punks that decided that messing with the Kinushimas was the smart way to go.

However, you've got another question that needs to be solved. While you've resolved to go to violence, what level of violence do you want to go to solve this issue?

CHOICE:
>Kill, maim, destroy! Leave none alive!
>Teach these punks a lesson... and esnure they live long enough to make sure it sticks.
>I'll decide when I get there.
>>
>>38542082
KILL
>>
>>38542237
As a forewarning, before you lock in your decision, here's what you have a good idea you're going up against -

Pretty much a bunch of thugs off the street with varying degrees of improvised melee weapons, with no armor.

Here's what you're equipped with:

A high-tech, strength amplifying suit of armor which grants you nigh invisible camoflauge, and impervious to conventional small arms fire. ALso armed with a bow that fires energy arrows.

Knowing this, are you sure you want to RIP AND TEAR? It might have future consequences that may change the way this story goes.
>>
>>38542341
RIP EM UP

NON-FATALLY

>Teach these punks a lesson... and esnure they live long enough to make sure it sticks.
Hand to hand, avoid using the Sonic Arrow unless we really need to. Like, say, if someone's about to kill Mako and we need to shoot them before they can do it. Otherwise, no limey energy blasts.

>>38542341
Oh, we've got the optic camouflage enhancement? Ryoma must like us, in canon only his suit had that. I guess our love for classic toku appealed to him.

>Teach these punks a lesson... and ensure they live long enough to make sure it sticks.

So, I feel obliged to point it out;

Yeah, we don't need Erina AND Makoto both to look like they're crazy. Non-lethal.

You resolve to not thrash these punks too hard once you get there. After all, you remind yourself, a wise man once said that with great power comes great responsibility. And with the power granted with Project EDEN's Genesis System, you can finally start to change the future as you see fit.

It's about 45 minutes worth of a drive to get to the abandoned power plant. There's signs up denoting that soon it's going to be torn down and replaced with a shopping center, which is starting to be more common in Zawame, you've noticed. Police-style tape covers a lot of the entrances, especially a conspicuous front entrance, but with some driving you find a back alleyway into the complex.

Stopping short of view of the alleyway, you button closed your trenchcoat and make sure that your hobble is enough to distract any inquiring eyes from looking at the strange protrusion from your waist. You figure these people don't know what they're looking at quite yet, so anything other than a Lockseed could go unnoticed.

Then again, the fact that they knew about the Lime Energy Lockseed and the Driver raises more concerns...

>Case the complex
>>
>>38543555
>>38543033

You start to hobble into the complex, taking it slow as you pick your way through the tape. For a power plant that's been abandoned, this place looks pretty decently clean when it comes to floors - no broken glass, no broken down machinery that's spilled out on the floor, not even much dust. Theonly thing that's covered anything is snow...

...and lucky enough for you, fresh prints in the snow leading deeper into the complex.

>>38543647
However, instead of directly following the prints down the alleyway, you take a side path, into another section of the facility. While they know you're supposed to be coming, it's best to learn qwhat you can from exploring the place at first. Should things end up going belly up, you need an escape plan.

You find that there's a bunch of people that have converged in the center of the facility, with what look to be young scruffy men in very similar looking charcoal gray suits (and looking like not all of them fit the suits well) guarding the entrances to each side. ALl in all, six guards are visible and there appears to be a seventh thug in the central room.

Makoto, indeed, is there. The thug in the room's got her tied pretty solidly to a metal chair, and she looks like she's seen hell. A black eye or two, multiple cuts and scrapes, and an indignant expression seems to say that she fought back... but she's not got her Driver.

>Enter the room and go with the plan. Don't transform.

Making sure you stay out of sight, you breathe a bit. You've got the power now, fuck trying that sneaky bullshit.

Instead, let's try some more advanced sneaky bullshit.

After backing away enough so that you're sure you aren't going to be heard, a couple rooms away, you unbutton your trenchcoat and secure the briefcase, along with your trenchcoat, behind an unused power meter. Your heart's pounding through your chest as you get yourself mentally ready.

"Come on, Erina, you've got this..." you whisper to yourself. Fingers curl around the Lockseed, gripping it with intent. Your daughter's life may be on the line here, and you're going to save her.

But your blood goes cold as you hear footsteps coming towards you, from the direction of the central room. You're fairly sure that you hadn't seen the guards do any patrol routes...

"What was that noise? Is the woman here yet?"

Shit. You've been spotted, and you haven't even started the Virtuous mission yet! Your mind races... how are you going to get through this?

>Henshin! Fuck sneakiness, bash and crash your way in at this point!

Damn it. Okay, given the lightshow and "SODA. LIME ENERGY" we can't transform and be sneaky. And I don't trust our chances of getting away from this guy with our limp. So just transform and kick ass.

And is that such a bad thing? I mean this is Erina we're talking bout here.

Beware the Venom of the Ara-Ara Snake especially when it's progeny the Mako-Drake is threatened.
>>
>>38545660
>>38545388

You know you're not the strongest, nor the quickest. But you've got a slight frame, and more than enough room to squeeze by and sneak pretty well.

You quickly take off your shoes, and with a labored pitch, throw one of them out the nearby window.

"What was that? The hell?"

Perfect. He walks, very perceptively distracted, past the doorway and outside. While you can, you hobble as fast as you can to a more secluded place.

You catch a glimpse, however, of a bright yellow belt and black device with a knife around the thug's waist before you get out of sight.

Your instincts are telling you that this is immediately not a good sign. That had to be a Sengoku Driver, the same kind Makoto had. Did someone take it off of her?

Did that bastard take it from her?

More questions than answers, as you find a small stairwell and close the door as quietly as you can. Your feet kind of hurt, along with your leg burning in pain (as usual) but it was worth it to duck out of further conflict.

Now that you're in private, what will you do now?

Tune: http://youtu.be/19vQPM5u904?t=39m3s

Alright, it's time to go.

"For the sake of my daughter... I will press on!" you hiss, gripping your Lockseed further. You hit the switch.

>LAIMU ENAJI

You rotate your outstretched hand with the Lockseed around your head, like throwing a lasso, before pausing in front of your left shoulder, then draw the device to the Drver and lock it in.

>SODA...

It pulses, with energy and tone that scares you... but excites you. You hit the lever.

"Henshin."

>SODA. LIME ENERGY ARMS. GAAAAAAOU!

A closing of your eyes, and the summoning of the armor around your head and upper torso.

The power... the clear, celadon power that you can feel in every vein, nerve ending, muscle and pore of your body... it's nearly intoxicating. You could stay here and just get drunk on the sensations, if you wanted.

But it's time to take care of business.

You open your eyes.

And drop your cane.

Take this Quiet and simple, we're a serpent and we know that there's at least 2 people here. Let's look for a vantage point so we can knock them out before going in to rescue Makoto.

After she's out. We'll go FULL Rules of Nature.
>>
Well, first thing, are the any guards that might have heard us? Second, what do our surroundings look like? Lastly, well...

"Snake, remember the basics of CQC!"
>>
>>38546711
Right, well, no reason not to enter the situation with camouflage on. Find a good place to scout out the room, then move to take out the people guarding Mako. Possibly spook them with a shot from the Sonic Arrow aimed at the wall, make a lot of light and sound without actually hitting them. Then move while they're surprised.
>>
>>38546958
>are there any guards that might have heard us?
Apart from the one guard you heard who got distracted by you throwing a shoe, you don't know. Then again, it only was one guard that went to check out the sound.

>what do our surroundings look like?
Currently you're in the stairwell between the ground and second floor. The second floor as far as you ould tell seems to just consist of catwalks and hanging walkways, rusted iron mostly. Due to age, you're not sure just how reliable they could be... but if you can make it across the entire way, you could potentially get a vantage point into the central room.

The central room is connected as the center of a blocky U-shaped building, with two rooms on each side of it. As well, there appears to be another layer of three rooms.

You take another deep breath to focus yourself. You had never really taken any training in any kind of covert tactics, but the basic ideas were kinda common sense. Avoid making noise, stay out of sight as long as possible, try to leave no trail or trace that you've been there.

Should be kind of easy.

Taking the steps two at a time to go to the second floor, you slowly and carefully advance through the first couple of rooms, keeping low to the walkway and holding the Sonic Arrow at the ready.

At the first room, there's no sign of movement. To be expected, given the distance from the central room.

At the second room, however, the man with the bright yellow belt and the Driver on his waist has finally found the coat and briefcase. He's about to pick it up...

It occurs to you that if you're going to fire an arrow, you might want to do it from the least visible location. A smart guard would turn to face the direction that the arrow came from.

It also hits you that this set of armor and powers seems to come with the ability to manipulate medicine of some kind. It's relieved all pain in your leg enough for you to move on, alleviated muscle necrosis for a while.

So why can't it do the same?

You activate the optical camouflage and move to the point int he walkway where the rooms meet, and crouch low. You draw the plunger of the Sonic Arrow and aim directly at the nape of the man's neck... but you don't draw the plunger all the way back. Hopefully, if this works as intended, it should shoot a smaller dart-like projectile instead of a full-blown arrow.

You soundlessly loose the plunger, and true to your hypothesis, a small green shard of energy flies at the man's neck and lodges into it. It takes the man a couple seconds to realize something hit him, and by the time you hear him turning to face where it had come from, you're already in the next room.

There's a surprisingly satisfying "thump" of the man's unconscious body against the floor, but you don't have time to mull it over further. Moving up to the next room...

>Survey
You survey the northern room that's connected to Central. Here's what you find.

>
The remaining guard outside of the Central doorway is no actual guard. Compared to the man you took down prior, he's wiry, unkempt and overall just not visibly appealing. Along with his thrift-store "I've got 3000 yen and i'm trying to look nice for a date" look, the thing that sticks out at you is that around his waist, as with the man you ran into earlier, is another one of those Sengoku Drivers. You can't make out if there is any faceplate on it. You can, however, tell that there is a Lockseed - one of the Nut ones, if you could hazard a guess - in the driver. It's not activated yet.

The man is nervous, looking towards the room you were just in, waiting for his buddy to come back.

The walkway does proceed into the Central room, but stops shortly afterwards due to a pileup of crates, overflowing from the floor onto the walkway itself. Traversal would have to be via the crates if you wanted to stay above line of sight, which given their condition could prove risky.

However, in Central, there's another man - this one wearing an actually nice charcoal pinstripe suit... and holding a gun. He's not armed with a Driver, it looks like, but that's still most certainly a semi-automatic gun. He's got it pointed at Makoto, who's tied very securely to a metal folding chair.

Makoto's sporting major superficial injuries. More than a few cuts and bruises, her clothes not in great shape. Judging by the man's black eye, you determine that she's put up a decent fight.

Somewhere between maim and distract. Ideally we'd injure him in such a way so that he'd be out of the fight, but not permanently crippled. >18 - Exceptional, but not Critical, Success.

You put the nagging worry of the man in the prior room behind you as you advance into Central. THere seems to be only the man in the suit in the room as a potential threat... and that gun, while not an effective threat to you, could easily be turned against Makoto.

And your blood chills, your stomach tightens to think of what would happen next. Certainly more blood would be on your hands.

Putting that thought out of your head, you take up your energy bow and draw the string back, aiming. You can see a tiny red dot appear on the man's arm - nifty, the Sonic Arrow comes with a red dot sight built into your HUD! - and you slowly adjust your aim. Avoid all arteries that could lead to an instant kill, but definitely to get Makoto out of danger. You settle on the wrist that is opposite the one holding the gun - with any luck, he'll be too distracted either by grabbing his affected wrist to hodl onto the gun, or at least be aimed at you instead of her.

You let loose the "arrow."

It all happens so fast, in the next couple of seconds -

- the arrow sears a hole into the man's wrist, between the bones, severing tendons, and leaving smoking flesh behind --

- the man screams bloody murder, making everyone that was guarding the Central room turn and swarm in, starting to panic -

- the gun clatters to the ground -

- Makoto looks up, and you're sure she saw you -

- she grins, that same snot-nosed grin that all kids get -

- and eyes turn in your direction.

Your anger flares as you leap from the crates to the ground, skidding just to a halt in front of Makoto. Sonic Arrow at the ready, muscles tensed and low, and crouched down, ready to spring into action should anyone choose it.

You look up at the crowd, which immediately begins to back up in fear. Noticing that every one of the guards seems to have a Driver and a Lockseed on their waist makes you a little worried, but given just how FUCKING PISSED you are right now, it's put aside.

Your gaze focuses on the man with the suit, and formerly known as the man with the gun. Your voice comes out deeper, raspier, and a little more... badass than it normally does.

"Your gun was pointed at someone I've vowed to protect," you start, tightening your grip on your bladed bow. "Someone that means a lot to me, and who I'd give the world to protect. And you've made the wrong decision by bringing her here."

"Just... just who the hell ARE YOU?" the suited man says. He's lost that gruff, somewhat tough quality in his voice, and he now sounds as scary as a puppy who's pissed on the carpet. The men behind him don't do much more to reinforce him.

Man, no, Dvorak's 4th Movement is a villain song. We're no villain. I say we go with a Kamen Rider song, since apparently at least Showa-era Kamen Rider exists in this world for Erina to be a fangirl of. She seems to like Black RX best, so let's go for Unmei No Senshi. The lyrics are about a person protecting someone they love who's been captured, so it works pretty well.

You draw yourself up to your full height, and pose. Left hand on your hip, right hand holding the Sonic Arrow parallel to the ground, right leg cocked a little bit to avoid putting too much pressure on the necrotic tissue. And you gaze across the crowd, struck by your appearance.

"Who, am I? I am the one who calls for your blood. I am your death knell, I am the one who will forever scar your mind with terror and pain."

You draw the Sonic Arrow to your chest, the blade just under your neck and chin, and make a cutting motion with it. The crowd only recoils further, as you can't help but grin as you finish it off.

"I am... Kamen Rider Eden. Welcome to the Garden of Madness."

The high is maddening. It fills your every sense, and pushes your grin broader and broader. All you can focus on is riding this climax from start to finish.

Well, it's not THAT powerful, but it might as well be comparable.

"Jesus... jesus christ above, what the fuck... Kurokages, get her!" the suited man stammers, eyes glued to you.

"Eh?"

The scrubby men with the Drivers try to muster up enough courage to push the lever on their drivers. Among panicked whining and gibbering, one man - bald headed, and probably more skull than brain - summons enough balls to push it.

>MATSUBOKKURI ARMS! ICHIGEKI IN THE SHADOWS!

A pinecone-like set of Rider Armor drops on the man from a zipper portal, summoning his own Rider form! How cute! A spear as well, ain't that nice!

The man's unpracticed spear thrust really is easy to dodge - and you aren't really trained in anything besides what you've watched Riders do on TV. You sweep the point of the spear to your left, narrowly missing Makoto, and blocking with the blade of the Sonic Arrow. Once you're out of danger, you wrap your left arm around the shaft of the spear and yank it, using the momentum to uppercut the trooper with the Arrow once more. He flies up in an arc, landing near his friends, and you're sure you can see starts around his helmet.

"Kurokage? Oh, that's cute, boys. Seriously, this is embarrassing. I am embarrassed for you. Please just run away, it's the only way either of us are going to walk out of this with any dignity intact." you sneer, holding the pose for a second.

The threat out of the way, you slash at the ropes that bind Makoto to the chair, freeing her speedily. She rubs her wrists and ankles, brushing some of the dirt off, but rather than getting out of here, she instead picks up the spear and holds it forward towards the crowd.

"Makoto... where;s your driver?"
"No clue, I think they might have taken it. So I gotta get it back."
"But you're cut up and everything, love!"
"Fuck that, they stole my shit! I'm gonna get it back and kick their asses twice with it!"

More of the ragtag group of misfits start realizing that maybe they should be running, but the man shouts at them:

"If you have any desire to make it out of this day alive, you WILL fight them and get that Driver, do you hear me?!"

Apparently the fear of death overrides the fear of you, and soon enough, with a repeat of >MATSUBOKKURI ARMS< you've now got 4 more troopers with spears pointed at your face.

>"Makoto, I'll take care of this. Go find your driver and get out of here. Mom--I mean, senpai's orders."

"Makoto, I'll take care of these fine gentlemen. Go get your driver and come back to help me fight these guys. I'll try to leave some for you, but afterwards, we've gotta talk, okay? You can't keep getting yourself into situations like this."

Makoto nods, and takes off into another room, getting out of the fray of battle, and leaving you alone with the Kurokage troopers. The suited gentleman sees her dash off, and tries to hustle as fast as he can after her.

Which suits you perfectly.

"I'm not sure what your boss told you about this little thing," you start monologuing, slowly walking forward with Sonic Arrow held forward. "but with dinky tech like that you're not going to stand a chance. And you know how these kinds of things go - you all rush at me one after another, and since I'm the new girl in town you don't take me seriously."

"But ask your friend over there -" - and by which you mean the man still knocked on his ass in the back - "- and you'll get an idea of just how much this old lady can pack."

"Now, do you want to try and hit me?"

Surprisingly enough, they're dumb enough to try.

You hold the Sonic Arrow at the ready, staring the men down. For a few tense moments, no one moves, afraid to start what could end up being a very one-sided battle.

Then, as their track record indicates, one of them does man up enough to start a quick spear jab at your chest. You easily sweep it to the side with the edge of the bow, before quickly ducking under a second sharp point of one of his friends joining the fray.

Soon it become an acrobatic feat to try to manage dodging every single one of their attacks. With the power of the EDEN suit, you're almost moving before the Kurokage strikes out, putting yourself in the exact right place to /just/ be missed.

But you make no aggressive strike, aside from pushing the Kurokages back once they get a bit too touchy feely with well-aimed sternum kicks and shoulder checks. Blades and spears fly and swing, crashing and scraping off one another with sparks flying and searing metallic sounds.

Soon enough, the four men are surrounding you, but their chests and armor heaves with every breath you can hear. You feel only a little winded, but you could keep going, as you rest the point of the bow on the floor and crouch down a bit.

(as a forewarning I only have about 1 or 2 more updates in me right now before work)

The intoxication of the power high that you're running off of is reaching a new peak. You feel... no, you know, that these men are nothing to you. They have inferior training, equipment, and motivation.

You're the queen of this Garden. Time to prove it.

With a mad dash, you slash at their legs, forcing them to retreat - only to get shot and blown back by unfocused energy blasts from the bow. Your renewed legs carry you into a flurry of slashes and beats upon the men, driving them all into one back-to-back cluster --

"This is the end!"

>LIME ENERGY SQUASH

You hit the lever, and the edges of the bow glow emerald green, trembling and thrumming with stored power. The men try putting up their spears, or cowering, pleading, but you're too far in right now to stop.

A horizontal smash across the collective, and they all go flying through the wall to the east, landing unceremoniously in crates, trash piles and other collections of landing surfaces.

Just as you're done, however, the man in the suit shows up once more. He's gotten his gun in his free hand, and he's trying to point it at you.

"Stay back... stay back, or I'll shoot. I swear it!" He is trying to stay in control, but it's perfectly evident he knows he lost the battle.
