>Summary:
You are Heracor Nahive, techpriest working as an escort for the mighty Commissar Oihan Alzador and currently in the Death World of Plinia Vesus to mitigate the riots and disturbs that the thousands of prisoners destined there are creating and secretly to avoid the uprising of an ancient and incredibly powerful Khorne Bloodthirster.
>>
Reminder of the actual teams:
>Team Bequerel:
-Konterus: Leader of the Skitarius. Uses a cloaking poncho and wears several pistols of all kinds: Flamer, Auto, Laser and Plasma. Gunslinger kind of man.

-Three-Ess: A thin and faceless sniper with lots of lenses on what once was its face. It has three sets of arms and it seems to be able to climb anywhere to shoot. It uses a long sniper rifle. Good spotter and sniper, kind of a loner.

-The Flamesword: Skitarii that came from a feudal world got adopted when discovered it affinity with the machines. Uses a greatsword with a flamer attached to it. He’s really big and strong. Wears a spiky crown made from the fragments of the sword he used before becoming a member of the AdMech. Really Zealous.

-Grillidae: Female Skitarii with piston powered legs, a maglev device and a jet-pack. Works as a scout and has a shotgun to defend herself. Impulsive but really useful, way too noisy when it comes to stealth.

- Hippocraticus: Medic specialized on amputations. He’s equipped with several saws and medical instruments. It is noteworthy that he was a field medic before becoming a skitarii so he still carries his white medic coat over his red robes.

-Heracor: The protagonist. Has a twin linked lasgun, a chainsword and has a hidden powerblade.
(1/2)
>>
>>38559246
> Team Roentgen:
-Phlogiston: A small skitarii with an incinerator almost twice her size. People have rumors about her being a failed SoB member who became crippled in the trials and joining the AdMech after receiving so many bionics. The one who stood up to question Kontarus

-Frigus Ferrum: Uses a power fist and a shield. Pretty cocky. Claims to have gotten his fist from Medusa, the homeworld from the Iron Hands chapter.

-Algernop Krieger: “Medic” Specialized in bionics and cloning He doesn’t heals but stops and stabilizes wounds. If the person is way too damaged he just gets genetic material for posterior cloning. Looks completely human yet there is something unnerving coming from him.

-Eswarm: Personally Eswarm is a pretty weak skitarii. It is in her brain its real strength. With her fly a small group of servoskull dotted with different weapons that she can mentally link and control. Not a lot of people could control so many skulls at the same time with such grace.

-Cato Endicus: A wide shouldered vanguard that uses a grappling hook to scout and travel. Also makes uses of explosives and temporal invisibility device to sabotage different vehicles or buildings. Also carries a hellgun.

-Keneally: A tall and well armored man. Uses a heavy bolter and it is usually the first one to rush against an enemy.

There were two teams full of Skitarius ready to explore and fight on the guts of the planet. Lava and magmatic rocky formations were surrounding the three possible tunnels to take.

“We sent three servoskulls, to the entrances. One goes upwards, possibly to the surface. The second one goes deeper, probably to other bifurcation. The last servoskull didn’t return, it is most surely destroyed.” Said the thin and physically weak Eswarm while mentally controlling a group of at least twenty-five servoskulls simultaneously.

“I think we should go downwards, our team’s objective was exploring, not fighting. It will be more likely to find resistance in a open area in the surface than in a underground tunnel . Team Roentger should go up and inform of what they find, maybe also tell us where we are located geographically.” You say after deliberating about which path to take.

“I concur.” Answered the leaders of both teams.

Shortly after you were back on the drill and heating the engines. According to the compass your direction is South-East. A litany chant on your back as you followed the machine activation rituals. The descent was uneventful, everybody was silent, maybe speaking in a code that was impossible to hear but transmitted. Honestly you were just too focused on the driving and you couldn’t nor wanted to know if they were really speaking.

An hour passes until your vehicle and the team reaches a big empty cavern. It descends into a crater like formation and ascends forming a rocky pipe that reached the surface, thousands of stars were visible and that hole let the sunlight illuminate most of the area. A loud and repetitive clanking noise was audible from the distance.

>Go with the drill to investigate the sound.
>Stop in there and walk to sound’s origin.
>Ignore the sound and try to learn more about the place and your current location.
>Free action.

You open the lateral hatch and send your small servoskull flying towards the sound origin. The feed isn't really great, it is distorted and sometimes even goes completely dark but still all the team presses together against the screens to see whats out there.

Some humanoid silhouettes are impacting with what seem swords some metallic tubes on the ground. Every time they hit a loud "CLANK!" sound is heard and some sparks form from the impact illuminating them for some small seconds.

As it gets closer more details are appreciable. There are naked and dead bodies on the floor, their grotesques bodies killed in a gory manner and slowly getting blisters on their dead skin from the intense heat. The people hitting the tube are completely covered in makeshift armor, they are "citizens" of MegaPrison 02 and what they are hitting is not a tube but the blinded cable of a machine.

For some unknown reason those prisoners are trying to cut the veins of a apparently Imperial and thus sacred machine. Slowly the skull went flying and followed the cables to see what they feed.

On the vid-screen a giant crater appeared, and surrounding it four massive melta cannons pointing directly towards the center of the hole. Their purpose was unexplained but everybody on the drill knew that they had a hidden and dangerous objective.

Shortly after the servoskull returned safe and undiscovered a message came from the duplex vox-casters.

"T͝eAm ̨Ro͟-e̶n̸t̶ge͟r͜ ̴to ͝T̀/̴a͘m ́Bec~̷er͡el̸. W̢ ̧hav! ̢d͠i̵scov̶éRE̸D a s͝er̛i͏3͘s ̢o̵f̛ ̕s͝ate11it̵e ̢ar͏r̷a̢ys ͢and a c͠o̕g̵i͘ta̴To̵R l|n͘k͡e͏d ̶tǫ ̶įt҉.̕"

The sound was distorted because of the distance and the resonance of the own crystal tunnels but we ended understanding their discovery.

Apparently and after exchanging some messages we were informed that they ended in a small and uncharted island that had Satellite Dishes and a computer linked to them.
>>
>>38560695
So I'm guessing the bigass melta setup here has something to do with keeping scary demons sealed away.
>>
>>38560755
Or maybe it's a device made by the heretics to pop the cap and free a big one.
>>
>>38560802
Possibly, though it's less likely the MP02 guys would be trying to hack through it then. This volcano sounds like it might be that big thing on the map, and the secret island with satellite dishes sound like it could be used to control the meltas remotely - such that someone very high up has sole discretion without having to be on this planet.

Still, they're not currently firing from what I can tell so presumably they're an emergency measure were something in the volcano to happen.

"Maybe those satellites are awaiting for a order to activate the cannons?" Flamesword asked.

"Seems probable, but why would someone want to shoot down there?" Answered the medic.

"Kontarus to Eswarm, could you please triangulate our position?"

After some minutes of silence we were answered. We were located inside the dormant Tartarus volcano. If those cannons were to be activated they would probably awaken it and make it explode creating a mini exterminatus that would still cripple the planet and kill 3/4 of the population.

You exited the vehicle and the rest came soon after, the prisoners of ZeroTwo seemed to be the most reasonable ones and they seemed to have came to the same conclusion as your team, they were trying to destroy the cables to stop the massacre.

Approaching them was hard, they were xenophobic to the extreme, scared of both loyals and heretics and a group of warriors filled with cybernetics and exotic weapons was going to be a really strange and frightful experience for them. Since you were the one who had the most experience with them you became the vocal and a diplomat of some sort.

"Priso-...Citizens of ZeroTwo." You greeted them.

As expected they all raised their crude yet effective weapons and the rest of your team did the same, luckily no shooting happened between the two opposing factions.

"You...you look like the monsters but you aren't them..." Answered the apparent leader of the group. A tall figure with a somewhat feminine body.

"We are the Skitarii team destined in this planet, the carers of the Sacred Machine and Priests of the Omnissiah. We know that your people while guilty of crimes against' both the Imperium and the Adeptus Mechanicus is still loyal and hasn't fallen to the mindless rage that has consumed the rest of the prisoners." You continued.

The group seemed to relax, yet they still grabbed their revolvers and shotguns tightly.

"Our purpose is trying to discover the reason of those turrets down there and their meaning. Join and fight along us and you all will be given the chance of redemption via joining the pen-"

You couldn't end the phrase. A rumble shook the place and a howl filled the cavern, suddenly dozens of naked and flabby pink bodies crowded and avoiding the turrets came directly towards the invaders, towards us.

"They come again!!" Yelled the prisoner leader.

You recognized them, they were exactly the same kind of beast found on MegaPrison 03. Weak clones that had the ability to metabolize and evolve in a manner that added muscles and intelligence to themselves via cannibalism.

Lanky was one of those beasts, she was once pink, weak and as soft as them, eating more meat and blood made her look more human and even if she had surely ate dozens of pounds of meat and drank gallons of blood she somehow gained humanity, maybe even a soul.

"Do not let them eat their dead!" You yelled as you unsheathed your lasgun and pierced three of them with a single shot.

They were killed easily and it wasn't much of a challenge, but you knew that getting way too confident with them would become lethal. The first waves were quick but as more and more came they started evolving and becoming stronger, the battle of MP03 was repeating once again.

>Fight with the Prisoners.
>Get the Skitarius in the drill and escape, leave the prisoners to die.
>Kill the prisoners and ask the other Skitarii team for help. The prisoners have already seen too much.

There's no telling what the clones will do to the meltaguns if we leave them and we need to purge their kind to prevent them spreading further.

Just a thought but can we hop into the meltadrill and do donuts through the clones? I forget what caused the meltadrill to break the last time we used one in a fight.

>Fight with the prisoners, let them gain redemption through battle with the emperors enemies.

Konterus started shooting at the stalagmites making them fall and impaling by the dozens.
The strange and spiderlike sniper Three-Ess disappeared as soon as the fight started, all the team would in the following fight be saved by headshots that they would thank for the rest of their lives.

The knight-like Flamesword was a beast, its greatsword cut their lithe and weak bodies as if they were made of paper and the few ones that survived soon meet their his flamer, becoming little more than dust piles.

Grillidae took advantage of the big dimensions and jumped constantly, stomping enemies and sending a rain of pellets as her shotgun cleared enemies far and left before jumping again and reloading mid air.

The medic Hippocraticus ran and attended everybody that got hurt, he even managed to kill a few of them with his bonesaw.

The prisoners seemed to have encountered them before and had some basic grasp of their anatomy and were to shoot. They would have managed to fight them but without the aid of your team they would have ended perishing.

You tried contacting the other team to see if they could aid and turn the tide of the battle but the big number of enemies that seemed to appear endlessly made it a impossible job. The other team were all focused on warfaring, with their intervention the fight would be over soon enough.

Hmm, well, I checked back at the last time we melta-drilled the pink things. Far as can tell they weren't able to harm it so I thus propose
>Get everyone to fall back behind the drill and pick off any pink things that get too close to them whilst
>We get in the drill and drive it through the hordes

Alternatively, if driving it around near that cabling is a concern:
>Just get the drill turned on and placed at the front so that the pink things run into it
>Whilst everyone fights those that make it past

Either way, the tendency of the drill to vaporise things that get too close makes it excellent at denying these clones their meals
>>
I'd like to ask Grillidae if she explored the staircase we found later, as well as ask Konterus about the gun we found. When it's convenient and we have some time to do so that is. Now is obviously out.

There were suddenly some moments of peace, before we could notice it the last clone died.

"What are those...creatures?" Asked Flamesword.

"Clones..." You answered, easily removing your chainsword from the torso of one of them. "MegaPrison 03 was full of them, there were vats and made those weaklings fast and in great numbers...they are little more than a nuisance first but they can devour the dead and become stronger, that's how evolve."

Your words sounded strong and confident. In the past while surrounded by soldiers you feel weak and shy but now that you were a Skitarii and you had peers that understood your point of view and lifestyle you felt more confident and strong.

"Those...clones are the reason why so few of us are alive." Said one of the prisoners.

"We threw the bodies to the lava, letting them rot was disrespectful even for those cannibals and besides we couldn't miss time digging graves."

"I was going to offer you..."

"We know." Said the female leader interrupting you once more. "Penal legions...It's not like we have any other chance, staying there we will be hunted down by those beasts." He kicked one clone in the head so strongly that its head blew with the impact.

"+‡ THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER OPTION ‡+" Said suddenly a mechanical and gurgling voice.

Everybody looked in the sound's direction and there was it. A heretek. It was once a loyal priest but now it's red robes were all ragged and stained with blood and other kind of fluids. Its body deformed by years of genetic malpractice and heretic practices.

"+‡ I AM ARCHGENETOR REXOMINI; SOUL ALCHEMIST AND FLESHCRAFTER. JOIN ME AND LIVE ETERNALLY WITH THE BODY YOU HAVE ALL DREAMED ABOUT AND NO LIMITATIONS TO WHAT FORM YOU WANT TO TAKE. ‡+"

"+‡ BECOME PART OF MY ARMY AND LET YOUR MINDS AND GENES WRITE AND CONSTRUCT THE FUTURE CLONE SOLDIERS THAT WILL TAKE THIS DAMMED PLANET. THIS IS NOTHING BUT THE START OF MY VOYAGE! ‡+"

A solid supersonic bullet broke the air and also his left arm in less than a second. The sniper tired of the speech decided to end it sooner.

"+‡ VERY WELL! YOUR BODIES WILL ALSO BE USEFUL DEAD! ‡+"

He then injected himself in the stump were once was his arm with a long golden needle that was in the end of his right gloved hand, itinside carried a red liquid that shined and fluctuated, it was surely tainted and warped by the influence of the inmaterium. The mutilated limb then started to grow and get swallow, cancerous like tumors made from pure and dense muscle forming and exploding in a gory rain as his skin ripped from the pressure, only to grow back seconds later.

Then he gave us a live proof of his madness, he stabbed himself with his needle glove and injected all its body with the same liquid. Its body grew threefold and became a hulk of ripped muscle and what once were bionics and now became just junk that served as armor.

>Free action. Choose what to do and roll a 1d100 to see its effectiveness.

Also pic somewhat related, how he looked before going full mutant.
>>

Lets not forget to mention that there is currently a warpship in need of a new civilian crew, and most of those were prisoners also, I assume that that sort of life would be significantly less shitty than the penal legions (albiet still shit)

The heretek is now a mass of muscle and broken bionics, the only part not horribly transformed is the gloved arm he used to change himself with.

You lock it on your sight and shoot. The twin lasers beam travel parallel and pierce the hand twice. The hand gets almost completely teared out, hanging only by a few sinews and only three fingers surviving the energy impact.

In a deep cry the enemy howls and starts squirting blood from his other stump, his two arms incapacitated in less than a minute. This doesn't lasts long thought, as the arm that was first destroyed is now sufficiently restored by the strange chemical and know resembles a massive bone claw, the sniper doesn't waits and shoots again to no effort, the bullet that impacts his osseous coverage gets shattered in the impact and the ones that hit its fleshy parts get only sucked into his thick musculature.

The liquid he injected himself with ends reaching his legs, turning them not only larger but also thicker and more buffed. As with the rest of his body the skin rips from the pressure leaving long strips on the floor and exposing his naked musculature underneath.

Flamesword goes first, wanting to get the glory of killing the creature or dying valiantly in the attempt. With its new body the Heretek gets cocky and doesn't tries to block him. His sword impales its chest and exits from its back, then he revs the gas pedal of the handle of his sword and sends a chemical flame towards the mutated body.

Rexomini laughs at his effort and sends him flying back with a slap that breaks most of his ribs and fractures three of his vertebrae with the impact. As the fire continues burning he slowly removes the now orange blade but it is the now unconscious Flamesword the one who has the last laugh as there is a pin in his fingers. The moment he manages to remove the sword this explodes and manages to burn most of him. If the Skitarii manages to survive he will have more sword fragments to add to his crown.
>>
>>38563080
>fractures three of his vertebrae
We /reallly/ need to get that bionic spine the next chance we have time for it.
>>
>>38563183
Just switch his spine with a Tobblerone bar and after a good night he should be fine.
>>
>>38563183
With all these broken spines and the fact that we keep adding heavy stuff to ourselves, it's certainly he best looking bionic right now.
>>
>>38563080
You yell to the group of citizens to retreat but they don't move, they are way too shocked from what they have just seen.

More sniper grade slugs impact the body to no effort, they seem to have enough pump to push him back a few steps thought.

Konterus covers himself with his poncho and becomes one with the dark walls, some high precision laser impacts attack the stalagmites of the ceiling raining over the man beast, most of them shatter on the ground sending him a explosion of sharp obsidian and silica that gets into its flesh and cut him from the inside every time he tries to move, then a thin yet long and sharp stalagmite falls down, everybody becomes silent from the expectation and the impression as they see the dark rocky lance impact and impale the swollen body of the Heretek, pinning him down...at least for now.

You see this as your chance and don't waste it. Getting on the drill you turn it on and immediately activate the melta blades to the max heating point, the prow changing from metallic grey to burning orange and then plasmatic blue.

The machine spirit yelled a war cry with his roaring engine as you kicked the accelerator and drove directly towards the stunned and bloated enemy. He didn't stood a chance, exploded the moment it impacted and sent blood, bones and beat everywere, you still continued and pushed his skeletal remains for at least ten feet until you reached a wall, you continued creating a small cave as you pushed and grind it down until it was nothing but a pulp.

You exited the vehicle stumbling, weak from the adrenaline, the heat and the violence. Your legs failed and you went down, starting to see your peripheral view black. On the ground you saw the Heretek's ripped arm holding something down. A small razor like disk that also looked like a optical storage unit. Weakly you grabbed with your non bionic arm and then it started spinning and cut your palm. Then something that you never experienced before happened.

Some words and noises breached your mind. Those were from the now dead heretek, surely violating your brain with some techno sorcery after cutting and reaching your blood.

"We are made from stardust... "

"Like stars we are all small beacons of light, unable to breach the dark void on our own but able to turn the night into day if we congregate."

"Like stars we get bigger and shinier as we grow, specially during our first years of life. We see the universe that surrounds us as docile and amicable but we soon see that we were wrong...that there is darkness surrounding us."

"Like a star we might reach a point were there isn't any more light inside us, we explode and turn into a black hole. Devourers of light, devourers of everything."

"You are about to reach that darkness, stranger, but no matter how hard you try it will reach you sooner or later. Like all stars you are destined to turn into a black hole."

"Embrace the darkness, my killer."

After that a migraine hit you hard, thousands of sounds and images hit you and burned your cortex. He somehow managed to code that message and his knowledge on the form of a virus of some sort, and the disk now infected you.

Unable to take it anymore you passed out after the forced download.

Problem is now we got a bunch of some of the highest tier tech heresy pumped(downloaded) DIRECTLY into our BRAIN!

AND it knocked us out so how the hell we gonna explain this?

At this point our best bet is becoming the most zealous anti tech heresy priest we can be for the sole purpose of making it impossible to consider that WE ourselves are a tech heretic.

and more importantly being able to 'acquire' the tech heresies of others by hunting them down.

and no one would expect a thing...(hopefully)
>>
>>38564005
Not all hereteks work for the ruinous powers or xeno. Some just reject some of the 16 universal laws. There a conclave of techpriests who are considered borderline hereteks for studying xeno tech (law 9: The alien mechanism is a perversion of the True Path.) but tolarated because they produce results, like the EMP grenade.
>>
>>38564074
Let's just see what's happening when we wake up and then see where we go. Note that Konterus might be hereteky given his reaction to the plasma gun, we might end up as part of a secret heretek group that still work for the emperor.

He didn't seem to be trying to sabotage our mission or anything, just looked like he suffered gunlust
>>
>>38563697
You woke up back in the drill, your head still burning and everything dizzy around you. As you tried to stand up you fell and started puking, acid filled bile oozing from your nose and your eating ports.

Some of the Skitarius inside made a disgusting face after smelling the stench, specially with the heat and the sealed atmosphere of the vehicle. Luckily it wasn't long until Kontarus drove and reached the vehicle to the surface.

Outside there were the two medics taking care of the damaged Flamesword. The other team confirmed it. That island was a station that was able to send the signal to turn those turrets on and blew up the volcano. They were still theorizing why would someone want to do that thought.

"Bad news sir." Informs the strong Cato Endicus to the leader.

"Inform me Cato."

"Apparently the death of their leader activated a failsafe and there are clones appearing everywhere by the thousands. They are as weak as the ones we found but their numbers are 30/1. The chances of winning ascend to zero."

You stood up, feeling good if a bit tad dehydrated. Maybe now that you had that heretical teachings you could control the clones...that would make you the arch-enemy thought. The only reason you could control those would be because you are tainted as well after all. Your mind still tried doing it but all you got was another migraine that weakened you even more, even if you had the knowledge you couldn't access them.
>>
>>38564087
I always figured you could get away with studying xeno tech but only if you got the rank and use it to get a better understanding of the True Path by neglecting its perversion while learning from it.

Bit of a grey area you can only get away with if you got the rank/pull.
>>

And some of the imperium will take advantage of people breaking rules or not working towards the imperium directly because those people usually directly contribute to fucking over people actively antagonizing the imperium (i.e. that ""Ex"" inquisitor working with the Tau in that all guardsman quest.)

"You still shine way too much...moribund sun." Was the answer that buzzed in your mind. Who knows how many questions and answers did he burnt into your mind.

Another thing buzzed too, it was your ear bionics, now that you were on the surface you saw many messages of Oihan. She was urging you to return to the Outpost Delta to help her with the battle.

>Ask for a Drill. Going directly from 02 to Delta will be pretty straightforward. ( 3 hours )
>Return on train and make a detour. It will take longer but you will have time to get ready and also rest a little bit. ( 11 hours. )
>Request a Valkyrie air vehicle. ( 1 hour and the chance to help the battle from the air, but you will need to get a +80 on a roll.)
>Free action.

Sorry for writing so much before leaving options and actions, I got inspired.

Well maybe they got away with it by reinterpreting the law, saying that while the alien tech is a perversion of the true path, it contains clues to the true path. Plus 4th law supports understanding, and doing so brings one closer to the Omnissiah.

This, lets get any survivors away and just start applying orbital hellfire. Those things are not human, and are definitely heretical.

Also... lets pretend like we didn't just get compromised by heresy, as we know two important facts right now, the psykers can't read our mind, and thus can't judge us for heresy, and that if they knew we were thinking what we were BEFORE we got mindfucked we'd've been blammed. The only thing thats changed is the imperium would shoot us repeatedly and THEN incinerate us if they knew about this.
>>
>>38564318
I figure wait on transport til we know if we're bringing allies. They might be able to requisition faster transport and getting to Oihan ASAP is probably better than having a drill when we get there.

That said, can valkeries carry drills?
>>
>>38564327
I figure our best bet is having our forces withdraw to our bases and commence with orbital bombardment EVERYWHERE else.

This would be for the best and hopefully us sending an alert to admech forces they'll loan us enough pull to make the order go through.

This is assuming the Imperium wont be completely retarded though...

and hopefully by alerting the admech of tech heresy their retardation can be used to our advantage by having them 'loan us' some pull/rank to deal with the tech heresy until they can get proper forces here.

We just have to convince them somehow...

We will build that, no matter what the other techpriests say. This I swear!

>>38564393

>>
>>38564445
Well, the roll was to convince the pilot to come to you instead of joining the fight. There could come a transport Valkyrie and carry the drill but it couldn't assist in the battle. Also the pilot is not used to drop the cargo while flying at high speeds so while the vehicle will survive don't expect it to land perfectly or close to the real dropping point.
>>
>>38564494
Hnmm....
Probably best to stick to driving there in a drill then.

Which can be dealt with once we finish bombarding the surface.

Coughing a little bit you ask the leader for what he is going to do next.

"Sometimes it is better to join one fight after another one, otherwise your body starts to relax and when the enemy comes you'll not be as ready. I will fight with the other techpriests of course, we have thousands of machines to defend."

"My Commissar as ordered me to come and fight with her on the OutPost Delta. Could I take a Drill to reach her faster, otherwise I would have to encircle almost all the landmass and it will take me many hours."

"You are a skilled pilot. Agreed, but clean the puke after you are done." He answered somewhat cheerful of having a fight after so many years of plain study and monotone training.

"Why don't you come with me? You also know how to pilot and I could fall unconscious again in the middle of the travel."

He doubted at first, unsure of leaving his men alone, but they were strong, they were able to kill a Heretek on their own and he ended agreeing. You later suggested to him sending the emergency broadcast to inform both techpriests and skitarii about what is under their feet and the possibility of orbital bombardment. With a nod he went and sent the message while you readied the vehicle once again and tried to tomb those heretical teachings deep where not even you could reach them.

Shortly after everybody, including the citizens returned to the HQ. The only ones left behind were you and Konterus.
>>
>>38564802
Hmm, I meant taking him AND the rest of the skiitari but in hindsight I should have been more specific. That said, if they're heading to a fight now anyway it's doubtful he'd have pulled them all for this one.

Anyway, all that aside, now we're in private with him it might be a good time to ask him about his reaction to that plasma gun.

Or a terrible one, since he can kill us without a trace.
>>
>>38564802
We didn't drove very deep and tried to follow a route parallel to the train lines once we reached them to be as straightforwards as possible.

As we got closer the ground trembled more and more, it was the weight and rhythm of thousands of feet walking at the same time and speed.

We had two options, ascend to the surface now and try to advance and drive over the unknown number of enemy soldiers or stay underground and ascend once we reached the Outpost appearing in the middle of the battle.

>Ascend now. That way we can know how many enemies are there and how strong are they.
>Stay underground and ascend once we reach our destiny. We cannot disobey the orders of our Commissar.

Why I don't believe it is the most prudent choice it is the Oihan (read badass) choice. plus we're committing to this battle in any case, enemy composition can be determined later and if we aren't instantly vaporized on emergence we can just burrow to another point if we're fucked.

>91-100:
Your ascension destroys an enemy controlled armory/weapon depot, making it explode violently and letting the few armed clones without ammo nor weapons. The drill is blessed by the Omnissiah and doesn't suffers any important damage.

There are still some few feet until reaching the Outpost, the vibration of their feet and advance becomes more noticeable and audible to the point of being uneasy.

"W-what did you discover from the weapon?" You asked to the other pilot trying to relax.

"It couldn't totally analyze it but it seemed to be based on at least part of an STC pattern or xenotech. I have prayed to the Machine God to be the first and not the second option. It is now with the others heading to the HQ. In case we survive this and the weapon isn't unholy I'll be gladly to gift it to you...after studying it, of course."

"Of course."

With your hand tightly gripping the gear shift you pulled it down and then lowered the steering wheel. It was time to ascend into the midst of the battle. The noise and shaking was so big that they even softened the ground and let the vehicle accelerate in the last feet of ascension.

The drill went out so fast that it even flew for a some seconds. During that instant the meltadrills destroyed various barrels of promethium and tank shells. The initial explosion was then followed by dozens of more explosions as they created a chain reaction that suddenly shook the entire enemy controlled armory and engulfed it with fire. It was so damm massive that while the tank was still flying the lack of air that the oxygen consuming fire created made a implosion and a vacuum suction that sent more debris and bodies to the same hole you two came from, creating a mass grave of some sort.

Pushing the pedal you exited the collapsing building as it continued to explode. The clones suddenly found themselves without weapons, nor the ones they were gifted by the heretek nor the ones they managed to loot, they suddenly became prey.
>>
>>38565636
I fucking love these drills, man.
>>
>>38565636

Studying it means we can try to draw up blueprints and send them to Mars for evaluation and such, and later try to improve on it or combine the tech with another tech for a completely different tool.
>>
>>38565636
Once outside you start receiving vox-messages.

"Heracor, is that you!?"

On the background there was noticeable the sound of gunfire and her power fist breaking skulls and bones as if they were made of butter. Not going to lie, you missed her and her voice.

"Yes Commissar, Skitarii Heracor ready to serve!"

"This is your first order coghead: Survive so I can give you a medal for what you just did. Here's your second order, meet me in the train station, we are going to leave this place, the big battle is on the HQ."

The drill continued advancing and killing everything and everybody on its path, it was mostly enemies but from time to time a wounded or just plain unlucky guardsman wasn't quick enough to move away.

Back on the train station there was the last defense, lines and lines of sand bags and walls made with junk and what they had available. They seemed to be getting on the train. The tribal Fire on the Skin and its Commissar Nicholo were in there too.

Once you two were out and safe she came out.

"You have brought a friend! Good! I will need techpriests for this mission!"

She showed you how there were various Tanks and several heavy weapons and scrap metal.

"This defense isn't going to last for too long! We need to armor the train to survive the journey! I trust in you to do this logistic mission!"

>Allright you mathlovers here comes the little game:
-The defense is going to last about 4 hours.
-The train has six cars plus the engine.
-Each car can house 50 guardsmen, ammo for 100 guardsmen or a vehicle ( Including Tanks and the Drills )
-Armoring each car takes 1 hour. Getting a turret in each car takes 30 minutes. A car can have armor and a turret at the same time but they cannot be installed simultaneously.
-As a special rule I will let you guys use the tank's weapons as they are being transported with the proxy drone.

Sorry for taking long, the wifi was being a pain in the ass
>>
>>38565934

>>
>>38565981
How many guardsmen do we have? Is the hour for one techpreist or two?
>>
>>38566203
We can transport a maximum of 300 guardsmen. 6 x 50 = 300.
There isn't space for everybody so sadly there will be some who will have to fight an unwinnable last stand.

It is one hour for the two. You guys can place turrets in all of them but not armor all the cars. Choose wisely.
>>
>>38565981
Okay, this is shaping up to be a fun puzzle. Can we install two things at once courtesy of having two techpreists at hand?

So, can we armour one car and turret another at the same time?
>>
>>38566287
Can we drive our drill back ourselves rather than putting it in a car?
Are there spare drills we can entrust to guardsmen to drive back?
>>

Makes 4 hours. Key personnel and important people get the armored cars.

Unless we can turret and armor at the same time, then.
Turret/Armor 4
>>
>>38565981
Okay.
First can we armour multiple carts simultaneously?

otherwise:
>2 guardsman cars
>1ammo car
>3 vehicle cars
>armor ammo car
>armor both guardsman cars
>install turrets on guardsman cars.
>lineup: engine, ammo, vehicle, guards, vehicle, guards, vehicle.

Feel free to disagree/modify.
>>
Do we need to armor the engine?
>>
>>38566288
>So, can we armor one car and turret another at the same time?
No. It is stated that the cars can have both armor and turret but that they cannot be installed at the same time.

>>38566397
>Can we drive our drill back ourselves rather than putting it in a car?
Technically you could drive next to the train but who knows if there is fuel enough, besides it is surely that the train is going to be attacked, there isn't much you can do to defend them while piloting. Besides to drive to the other side of the train the drill would have to dig under the rails and then ascend again, that could weaken the rails and making the train crash.
>Are there spare drills we can entrust to guardsmen to drive back?
There are pretty few pilots around and there is no time to teach how to pilot. While possible the few drills that travel next to the train aren't assured of making it to the HQ.

>>38566403
>First can we armor multiple carts simultaneously?
Nope. It takes 1 hour to both techpriests to armor one car.
>>
>>38566578

>>
>>38566549

Engine (Armour/Turret), Train1 (Armour/Turret), Train2 (Armour/Turret), Train3 (Armour/Turret), Train4 (Armour/Turret), Train5 (Armour/Turret), Train6 (Armour/Turret).

>Example.
Engine ( Turret ), Ammo ( Armour ), Vehicles, Guardsman ( Turret ), Guardsman ( Turret ), Vehicles, Ammo ( Armour )
3 turrets = 1,5 hours
2 armored cars = 2 hours.
Total 3,5 hours.
>>
>>38566952
Engine(Armor), Guardsman(turret), Vehicles, Ammo(armor), Ammo (armor), Vehicles, Guardsman (turret)

3 armored cars = 3 hours
2 turrets = 1 hour
total time = 4 hours

>>
>>38567308
Two Heavy Bolters, the train will be moving so aiming will be a pain and a plasma weapon is too risky in this situation.

>>38567308

>>
>>38567020
>Engine(Armor), Guardsman(turret), Vehicles, Ammo(armor), Ammo (armor), Vehicles, Guardsman (turret)

You quickly come with the plan and the two start soon working with the help of the few guardsmen and servitors that aren't holding the line.

The engine, already the heaviest part of the train gets a thick metal coverage. The plasma engine of its interior its so powerful that even with the adamantium covering it won't be slowed down.

In the first car there will be fifty guardsmen crawled and with their lasguns pointing out of the windows, Oihan orders them to try to drop dead out of the window, if they don't they are going to be thrown by the ones behind them anyways so they can take their position. When the engine is armored with the help of a crane you manage to install a heavy bolter turret on it. A plasma one would have been stronger but the risk of exploding would have affected the integrity of all the vehicle and the engine.

The next car holds a sacred Leman Russ. You feel guilt from leaving so many weapons and vehicles behind, but there is no other option. Silently you offer your forgiveness to the Omnissiah.

Ammo of all kinds takes the space of the next two cars. You two obviously shield them as it isn't only and objective but also something that could explode if damaged enough.

You move with a crane the drill you came with in the next car, not going to lie, you are already starting to love that vehicle in a personal way that nobody outside of the creed could understand.

Finally the last car is filled with more soldiers that will do the same job as the others but will also peek and aim from the back windows. Those have also been fitted with an plasma turret.

As the work is ending you hear the enemy getting closer and closer, they are dying by the hundreds but they are a swarm that the lasgun fire won't be able to hold for long. The remaining soldiers part the rest of the company who is making the travel holding back tears.
>>
>>38567570
>>38567404
I haven't placed the plasma turret in the first car because if it exploded the other cars and the engine would be affected, it would be much better on the backside.

>>38567632

>>
>>38567611
As the engine turns on and the metallic snake starts advancing the battle becomes more and more fierce, as the outpost starts disappearing on the horizon some explosions can be heard, the lasts moments of those brave men.

You try to be logic, to think that they couldn't be saved and that even if they survived the battle the orbital bombardment would wipe them out yet still, you feel touched and decide to inscribe the words "Micerian Milites Delta" on your lasgun. The soldiers of the Delta Outpost will be now eternally on your weapon.

Miceria is the planet were the guardsmen come from. It's a corruption of the word Miseria that in Spanish means Misery. Milites means soldiers in latin and Delta was the outpost. Basically means "The Micerians Soldiers of Delta"
