You are Captain WILLIAM PIERCE, a combat rescue officer of the United States Air Force.

Currently, you were talking to Laika via a satellite uplink between Yokosuka and China Lake, where she was training Frank Bishop in the use of VDNI. Colonel Kelsey was kind enough to give you access, but it wasn't unlimited. After all, satellite comms were used for more than just social calls, so you always took the chance to call when you could.

"Are you sure everything is okay?" You say what must be the millionth time, the concern evident in your voice.

"Yes, for the millionth time!" Laika chuckles. "Everything is fine here! Rex has been taking good care of me!"

"And what about his brother?" You ask suspiciously.

"Frank is very nice!" Laika assures you. "And he's a fast learner, too! He's already gotten down the basics!"

"How about the whole 'connecting to each other' part?" You ask, narrowing your eyes.

"Ah, well, it's a bit weird having to share control of a plane, but I've been getting by!" Laika assures you. "But, well, if there is any problems, it's that he tends to land the plane a bit harder than usual. What if he damages the frame or shakes something loose?"

"Laika, he's Navy. They're supposed to do that on carrier landings."

"Yeah, I know! But I asked him to stop but he still keeps doing it! I think he's doing it on purpose" Laika pouts.

The Op was only supposed to last one day. And considering that Laika's complaining about Fronk always landing the plane hard enough (likely on purpose), they must have been flying alot of training flights. You can only do so many training flights in a day so the girls must probably be on base already.

"W-what?! Is Frank a martian or something?!" Laika gasps.

"No, no." You laugh. "That's just what we call Navy guys."

"Oh!" Laika says in understanding. "Can... can I call him that in public?"

"Be a good girl and stay safe now, okay Laika?"

"Mhm! I promise!" Laika says happily.

You reluctantly cut the link and head back out to the hall, where the secretary is waiting. She politely directs you to where you can meet Anderson. As always, he's calmly sitting at his desk, waiting.

"I hope I didn't keep you for too long." You apologize.

"Oh, not at all!" Anderson shakes his head. "However, we have a few developments."

"I see." You nod and look around. "Is this room safe?"

"Of course, I've already had it swept." Anderson smirks. "We've been pressing the guy we caught assisting the KPA in Korea. Found some interesting things. He didn't talk, but we ran his prints and they hit a match in the CIA's database."

"So we know this guy?"

"Apparently. He's a deep cover Imperial Intelligence Service agent, named Goda."

"So I guess it's not too hard to guess who his boss is?" You ask.

"We did, and it's not pretty." Anderson sighs. "The IIS answers only to one man, Defense Minister Takakura. He's part of the Royal Court, which will make getting to him difficult."

"So you're still going to go after him?" You raise an eyebrow.

"We have to. He's a liability." Anderson nods. "Unless you're willing to risk approaching the Emperor?"

But perhaps those close to him do. Don't we have a line with Jessica Bishop and that Princess? We might be able to get some assistance in drawing out the target.

"He doesn't need to know." You shake your head. "What's the plan?"

"Well, the problem, obviously, is that Takakura is very well protected." Anderson grunts. "He spends most of his time in IIS headquarters, which is practically a fortress. That means we can only hit him at either his estate, or when he's in transit to another location."

"And I assume the method of his elimination matters, too?" You ask.

"Of course. If it looks like a straight up assassination, he ends up becoming a martyr. It has to look like an accident, which we have methods of doing."

"Hm." You nod. "Any alternative methods that don't have to involve killing him?"

"If we can find hard evidence that incriminates him collaborating with the KPA, we can use that against him, and it'll delegitimize his entire movement." Anderson explains. "But the only way we can do that is if we infiltrate IIS headquarters, which, as I've mentioned before, is a fortress. It's probably easier just to kill the guy."

"So I take we just help insert and extract the CIA team?"

"That's right, but you might be called on to provide support if they need it, which they hopefully don't." Anderson nods. "There's also one more thing. The longer we wait, the more time Takakura and his cronies have to plan another false flag attack or bury the evidence. We're going to go in fast and hard. "I think Tarin would do a better job on the ground." You say.

"I think so to." Anderson smiles and nods. "I'm sure you made some SAD guys very happy."

"Okay, so when is this going down?" You ask.

"Well, like I said before, this is something we need to get done right away. However, getting into a place like the IIS HQ is going to be tough, so it means lots of prep. I'd say give us a few days. I'll coordinate with Kelsey so you won't be on watch for a while."

"Thanks." You nod.

"That's all for now." Anderson says. "I'll be in touch."

With that, you're quietly ushered out of the office, and bump into Janice.

"Oh, Will!" Janice blinks. "Are you done with the call already?"

"Yeah, and a briefing, too." You sigh. "We're going to be up to some sneaky shit soon."

"Ah." Janice nods and puts a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "And does it bother you?"

"How about we go back to that hot spring?" You grin.

"Excellent idea!" Janice smiles and claps her hands together. "It feels like an eternity since we've gone there!"

"I just hope those innkeepers there are still okay." You muse. "Their town definitely saw better days."

"Well, maybe with the war swinging in our favor, things will be different!" Janice smiles.

"Probably." You nod. "Let's go then."

---

A little while later, and you and Janice are sitting in the back of the Ghost Hawk as it makes its journey to the hot spring. It served to kill two birds with one stone, in that you'd be able to get some time away from the base, and you'd be testing the Ghost Hawk's tuned up engines. To his credit, Bullseye didn't really ask why just you and Janice were going, but you had a feeling he knew. He had to deal with Nungesser on a daily basis, after all.

"I'm surprised you didn't bring Nun with you." You grin.

"Oh, believe me, I've got a little bet with myself going on." Bullseye grunts. "I'm planning on just dropping you guys off and going back to base, but If Nun follows me all the way out here, I might as stay the night."

"Hope you got a night bag ready." You chuckle.

"Don't even joke about that." Bullseye winces.

"Will!" Janice tries to stifle a giggle as she taps you on the shoulder. You turn to see a small silhouette in the distance, most likely a witch. Considering you were well behind Japan's air defense net, you had a good feeling of who it might be...

"Speak of the devil..."

You keep an eye on the approaching witch, but decide to lean back and watch the show.

"You sure it's Nun?" You ask Janice.

"Positive." Janice nods.

"Oui! Bullseye, you didn't tell me you were going out!" Nungesser coos.

"Aw crap!" Bullseye yelps as he dips the Ghost Hawk's nose to gain more speed.

"Oh, silly Bullseye!" Nungesser laughs as she easily catches up with the Ghost Hawk, and raps on the side window with her knuckle. "And ferrying Janice and the Captain? Whatever can you be up to out here?"

>Oh, we're just testing out the engines. That's all.

"Oh lala~!" Nungesser's eyes shine. "Bullseye, isn't this perfect?!"

"Yeah... yes it is." Bullseye shoots a look of pure hate at you, which you just respond with an amused shrug.

"That was mean of you, Will." Janice says, trying to keep herself from laughing. "You should stop bullying Bullseye like that."

"Janice, there are some people whose lot in life is to be bullied. Bullseye is one of them."

"I CAN HEAR YOU TWO, YOU KNOW!" Bullseye growls.

"We don't care!" Both you and Janice say at once.

"I should've joined the Army." Bullseye grumbles. "Then I wouldn't have to deal with this bullshit."

"Whatever you say, Bullseye." You chuckle.

About half an hour later, you touch down at the small coastal town you had stopped at so many months ago. It practically looks the same as you had left it, though you do note that there are signs of life. You can see a few cars and people milling about in the streets. No more than a few dozen, but a huge upgrade from what used to be a ghost town.

As expected, the two elderly innkeepers are quick to greet you when you touch down.

"Sure, we'd love to have lunch." You grin as you put away your helmet. "Lead the way."

The innkeepers lead you to the mess hall, where you're surprised to see actual people sitting in there. Sure, there were only a handful, but again, last time you were here the place was literally empty.

"Ah, now with most of the fighting taking place in Korea, people are starting to return to the coast." The wife explains. "Ah, how about you take a seat here next to Lady Takakura?"

Wait... Takakura?

The innkeepers seat you at the table, where a young Japanese witch sits, sipping a cup of tea. Her eyes dart at you for a second, but, determining you aren't a threat, continues to finish her sip.

Nah, it had to be a coincidence.

"Pierce..." The girl's eyes widen."Ah! You are the American that saved Princess Katsumi!"

"Yeah, that's me." You nod.

"Ah, you may call me Misono, then!" Misono smiles.

Well, it looks like she's a fan of yours.

"Your father doesn't happen to be the Defense Minister, is he?" You ask, trying to sound as innocent as possible.

"Ah, yes!" Misono nods. "He's the head of one of the IJA's largest agencies! Er, the IIS, I think? He doesn't talk much about it, though."

I keep petitioning to be transferred there but my father keeps blocking it." Misono's face puffs up in a pout. "But I suppose it can't be helped."

"Well, be careful what you wish for." You shrug. "I've been over there, and it's pretty rough, even on witches."

"Ah, that reminds me!" Misono leans over the table, her eyes sparkling again. "You know the Nightmare of Seoul, yes?"

"The who?" You blink.

"Chikami Takefuji!" Misono explains. "That is what they call her now!"

Ah, right. You remember Jetstream inflicting massive casualties on the KPA during their raid on Seoul. You guess that's where the nickname came from.

You turn to see Nungesser and Bullseye taking turns feeding each other, just like a true couple, with Nungesser enjoying it rather highly. You notice Misono blushing heavily at the sight.

"You have a boyfriend?" You ask her.

"Oh, no, no!" Misono shakes her head. "I just haven't had the time for one, you see..."

"Oh, don't worry. The chance will come along!" Janice smiles and tugs at your sleeve. "But now that lunch is finished perhaps we should be getting settled into our room?"

"Ah, right." You nod as Janice starts pulling you away. "It was nice meeting you, Misono."

"It was nice meeting you too, Captain Pierce!" Misono waves cheerfully.

"So, Janice." You grin as she continues to pull at your arm. "Did watching Nun work on Bullseye like that really get you that hot and bothered."

"I won't confirm or deny anything." Janice says simply.

That's usually what he does, trolls one or a few anons out of spite and manages to shit up threads for months to come with shitstirring because of it, don't really know why he feels its necessary to do that, its like on one hand he wants to write for the quest, and on the other wants to see it crash and burn from shitposting, and he does more of the latter than the former.

I very much doubt it, seeing as Ghost has say over what is and isn't, and he's writing something up just to piss off anons and troll them. Ghost would have to lose his mind to ever consider making something like that canon, and if he did then he's just saying fuck you to all his players...

>>
>>38578786
The reaaaaaaally special secret is working with the other writefags as much as necessary, and understanding that not every idea is so special that it is a hill worth dying on. Nothing I write dictates canon or where the quest will go, so much as I am writing bits that interest me and getting help from other people who are also writing for the story.

There are plenty of decent writers that can be found across all the quests on /tg/, many of whom are significantly better than I am in any number of ways. My success here is less about the actual work I produce, and more that I've tried to work with Ghost and Merc and everyone else that has contributed to the story.

WHICH IS WHY FROSTYZIPPO NEEDS TO REPORT TO THE IRC GODDAMNIT.

>>38578828
You would have to be hilariously dim to think Ghost wants the quest to die.

We've got Frosty, there's a large manager guy who I'm helping hash something out with, on the IRC there's our resident tubesexual writing a Russian side story. Our editor type pokerman is writing a story that delves into some Napoleonic era shit.

>>
>>38578851
...Fornication, I knew I overlooked something.

>>38578862
I originally wanted to make a pro wrestling quest with witches as the wrestlers. They (and Ghostdivision if I recall right) advised me to not just stick with normal people, but also just make my own story that would not be bogged down by its connection with SWQ.

They also gave me tips, and links to guides for QMs. Those are in my desktop, though.

Also Planefag popped out of nowhere. It was kind of awesome.

>>38578884
So Wendy, Goose, and Merlin for starters... no, stahp, halt, argh...

>>38578912
Frosty wrote some feels-heavy stuff, like that one with the German tank witch and the Brit sniper about a month or so ago. That was a heck of a feels ride.

There was also that guy who wrote a couple of snippets about the Soviet side during the early phase of the war.

He is still writing it! Like a lot of us, he's pretty busy with life in general, but he does want to keep writing it, and IMO he's improved as a writer. Our editor wants to kill him last to savor the kill, but improvement is improvement!

>>38578986
I have been talking to Ghost about this very idea this whole time!

While a lot of the process is spontaneous, there's a lot of planning and scheming that goes on once an idea takes hold and actually starts getting written up. It's fun as hell, and why I'm still here.

Besides making >>38578876 mad.
>>
>>38579052

Well we can compare the length of their strapons.

Just imagine.

Out there in SW'verse.

Bad Dragon has released a line of magic powered dragon sized two way strapons.
>>
>>38579067
What is this idea?

Was it always there as a reslt of yor dislike for the waifuwars?
>>
>>38579015
Ghost, I'm always kind of of wondering but what is Dragonriders?

We got small snippet ideas from write0ins bt besides romance smut, is there any plot?
>>
>>38579146
VDV x Navy SEAL lewds, totally canon. In it, Brigitte single handedly wins the Spellcaster Bowl, the war, and reforms the Spetsnaz into something effective in reality as opposed to stories armchair generals lionize on /k/.
>>
>>38579054
...I give up. I'm going to go play Pokemon again. Sinisisi kita para dito.

>>38579067
I envy you and the other writers, Feelthy. I really do. You guys can churn out so many stories and feels, and some of them get turned into canon, too.

Also, Ghost, permission to maim >>38579132?
>>
>>38579164
Not... really. there's about as much plot in Dragonriders as there is in 50 shades.

>>38579189
I'm still kind of lost as to why Merln is such a big fan of them then since she is such a big technophile and where does she find the time to write it.

Speaking stuff.

What was in Ice's closet when she mentioned it back in Wendy's birthday?

Is this something we will find out in a future thread?
>>
>>38579244
Maybe dragonriders has some technopunk stuff that interests Merlin?

Maybe ice keeps her vib collection in there?
>>
>>38579189
Ghost-boss, Shitscribbler here. Are there at least notes containing the heights of the cast? Any ballpark figures? I was thinking about cobbling together a comparison chart for my own reference. I might even be inclined to post it, if it's not too shitty.
>>
>>38579208
>>38579242
Feelthy is more like the gospel writer Paul. He writes a lot and got popular. Planefag, Ghost, and Merc Command form the holy trinity of SWQ. And my metaphors just got weird.

>>38579238
You laugh now, but when my lovingly-raised Level 99 Wingull (which I will name Goose) has a Watergun to your head, you will be as helpless as Brock was.

>>38579244
>Then why is there fighting still?
There isn't apart from the shitposting Feelthy stirs.
>>
>>38579244
I don't think anything's been comfirmed yet, and the last time I checked a perpetual stalemate isn't the same as a real harem. If it was a real harem, then the girls would have hatched plain as opposed to Bridget going and taking Frank's cherry. Everyone else ought to be thankful that Ghost didn't have her win right then and there.

Even if it was, readers aren't used or fond of harem routes due to the stigma they have from VNs using them as just that, a cop out.

As for Merlin's taste in books, likely because she has romantic fantasies just like any other girl in her teens.
>>
>>38579282
Mr. Briney pls

Also,
>Holy Trinity
Dammit, twitch plays pokemon all over again.

>>38579272
You must do this scribbler. For reasons. and that SWQ artbook.
>>
>>38579314
Tomaso is romantic as fuck, you don't even know
>>
>>38579314
>then the girls would have hatched plain
but they have hatched a plan, kind of hard to not notice it after the last couple threads, ever since Mav put the idea in Ice's head a couple months back they've slowly been building up to it
>>
>>38579314
......Frank lost his cherry a long time ago from that blond.

Also that statement of harems being cop outs is subjective. Also depends on the series.
>>
>>38579314
>Even if it was, readers aren't used or fond of harem routes due to the stigma they have from VNs using them as just that, a cop out.
Speak for yourself, if its written well I've no problem with it, and I trust Ghost to write it well.

Also its not even close to a stalemate with the Big 3 and Frank himself making moves towards it, oh and Maman didn't get Frank's cherry, he popped his years ago, so you might want to go 'check' again and actually read the quest.
>>
>>38579314
>Even if it was, readers aren't used or fond of harem routes due to the stigma they have from VNs using them as just that, a cop out.
Says you, knowing how the bossman writes, I've no problems with it when I used to, now I'm all for it after seeing how he's sown the seeds for it.
>>
>>38579352
>>38579365
I don't really believe it but if you ask anyone against a harem, you will hear "they're a cop out" as the main reason.
>>
>>38579389
No you won't, you only hear that in argument against the concept, not against the characters or the quest.

Stop treating the quest like a fucking VN, fuck off with that shit, you can go debate the intricacies of harems in popular japanese culture while your there too.
Here we don't give a shit about whether you think its a cop out just because its a harem, here we care about the characters and the story and its clear you don't so piss off.
>>
>>38579389
>but if you ask anyone against a harem,

See now there is a problem., If someone has a bias already, it will be hard to convince them otherwise.

If someone is on a neutral stance of a issue and if convinced by the story's own merit then that is what makes it better.

And I believe SW89 is one such story
>>
>>38579324
>>Dammit, twitch plays pokemon all over again.
Worse. My old copy of Emerald was glitchy. It always deleted my saves after a couple of days. So. Much. Hate.

Well, I'm signing out. Thanks again for the run, Merc, and for the reason to hit the booze, Ghost. See you all in a couple of days for Strikers 89.
>>
Guys, we really shouldn't argue about this. All SWQ stories have excellent characterizations and story-weaving. Ending up in a harem should be out of the question.
>>
>>38579389
That's not a reason against it in the quest, thats a reason against them in practice in any form of writing, digital or otherwise, because they are projecting previous experiences onto them and merely arguing syntax.

Stop being stupid, stop trying to argue about the concept or notion itself. Stop trying to use your bias against the concept's execution in completely irrelevant works as somehow being justification for being biased in this quest.

You are not arguing against a harem in SW89, you are just pissing in the wind about syntax without even considering the characters in the story and their feelings.

You can't even begin to argue for or against it in SW89 with that logic so don't be retarded and try.
>>
>>38579420
I dunno all you ever seem to worry about is whether or not they have sex as opposed to anything else
>>
>>38579426
the problem is that morons like that anon don't care about the characters, they just see mention of a harem and go "oh I saw one of those in a VN years ago, it was a cop out so this must be one too therefore I'll decry it", its fucking moronic.
>>
>>38579462
Tell that to Mr "Death to harems" Hornet then.
>>
>>38578094
Because I live on the opposite end of the world from Ghost and usually, the time he starts running is the time I have to hit the hay.
>>
>>38579490
I and several others have, and he still refuses to even consider looking at the argument reasonably and just dismisses it completely out of hand because he's a biased troll like that.

>>
>>38579490

>>
>>38579551
No I've been reading 89 for the past year and all people like you keep doing is whining about harems and rarely discussing other major events in the story.
>>
>>38579580
Then clearly you haven't been reading it at all, or you could stop being stupid with confirmation bias.
>>
>>38579580

>>
>>38579580

>>
>>38579580

>>
>>38579667
and shadowrunning, and speculating, and whinging over the kittyhawk etc
>>
>>38579597
There have been threads where feelthy hasn't even posted and you will whine about him hating harems and how we are setting up harem tiers, meanwhile the QM has spent hours writing a combat chapter, or writing major plot developments.

You even drag this shit into other threads.
>>
>>38579680
>whining over the kittyhawk
Hue

>>38579580
But seriously to that butthurt anon, If you only see the waifuwars and haremfagging you will never see how much of a world we've constructed in the threads.
>>
>>38579682
again, topics vary between threads and length of posting
>>
>>38579682
No we don't anon, he drags it with him, most of the waifuwar shitposting is started by him baiting anons when anonposting, he's admitted as much before.

How many posts do you think are taken up in a thread by waifu talk? hundreds? its usually not even breaking tripple digits, meanwhile we'll have a 2-300 post discussion about current events going on with the planes or our new daughters and such, but of course you don't see any of that going on, you just focus on the 20 posts about waifus
>>
>>38579314
>taking Frank's cherry
Frank lost that looooooooooooooooong before Spellcaster ad their eyes on him, bro.
>>
>>38579718
>our new daughters
AND WITH THAT WE MUST RETURN TO THE MORE IMPORTANT QUESTION: HOW WILL SPELLCASTER REACT??
>>
>>38579543
Probably never. I had some ideas I thought I could write for Merc's ACQ but the more time I spent on conceptualisation the more I realised that anything I did write would mean assuming a lot of things regarding the ACQU and as I've not really got any way of conversing with him it'd result in a LOT of assumptions being made and I wasn't comfortable with that.
>>
>>38579740
>Frank lands
>Spellcaster mobs him, as per usual
>Kids disembark transport plane
>"Daaaaaddddddddyyyyyyyyy!"
>Spellcaster collectively shits itself
>>
>>38579718
He has? It hasn't shown up in any threads.

Is this like one of those things where any time a vote doesn't go your way its the fault of samefags, or has he actually admitted to this?

That would change my opinion significantly
