Still pulling the large cart of neatly folded, stacked clothes with one hand behind her, Millian is standing on the doorway, utterly confused.

"...What are you doing to Regis?!"

You cough. "...It's not what it looks like, Millian."

It totally looks like something. Your lips close to his (completely by coincidence, you were just checking his breathing), a hand stuck under his shirt (feeling his heartbeat). Just after a rather bizarre chat you had with the little maid, which arguably makes the whole situation a lot more complicated and awkward.

You instinctively step back from Regis. The glowing mark your lips left on his forehead is slowly disappearing, but still sheds enough light to visibly brighten the room. As Millian's eyes notice it, her expression changes from surprised outrage to a deep, confused frown.

"...Seriously, WHAT are you doing?"

>Who are we?
Maka, an exiled noble Exalted as a Zenith-caste Solar. Queen of Gem, now ruling the western island of Tianna. You have gathered a lot of allies and friends, and have a powerful Manse under construction.
But Tianna is actually an artificial island, built around a First Age Titan: an almighty flying fortress built in an ancient, forgotten age, and although this is kept secret, two Deathlords are seeking to obtain it.
The Tyrant of the Doomsday Machine, ghost of your past incarnation, seeked it as a weapon to cut her ties to the Neverborn. But you have persuaded her to try and seek redemption in the eyes of the Sun in other ways, and count her as an unlikely ally.
But now the Silver Prince is coming, to punish her and claim the Titan for himself in the name of Oblivion. And this looks like a battle you won't be able to talk your way out of...

>Solar? Zenith? I don't know Exalted...
This quest is as newbie-friendly as possible, and I want it to work as a newbie's intro to Exalted. If you have ANY question, ask in thread. For the setting, google "1d4chan exalted".

>Archive?
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Solar%20Quest

>System?
Dicepool-like system. When performing an action, everyone rolls 1d10 when posting. the first X rolls are considered, where X is equal to attribute + ability. Yes, this means that the more people are posting, the stronger Maka is, up to a limit of her attribute + ability.

>XP?
Attributes cost [current score x5] xp. Abilities cost [current score x3] xp, except Zenith costing [(current score x3) -1]. Charms cost 10 xp, except for Zenith-based charms (related to charisma and physical/mental fortitude) which cost 8 xp. At the end of every "session" (thread) you will be presented with a list of possible acquisitions.

"...WHAT DID YOU DOOOO."

"calm down, Millian!" Is a little mortal girl about half your height really putting you on the ropes?

Maybe it's true when they say that a woman's tears are the most powerful weapon in Creation.

You DO feel a bit guilty yo even use a Charm on this, but... you're doing this with the best of intentions and just to make things clear. You don't want to risk making them WORSE, and poor Millian seems already stressed-out enough.

[TALKING TO THE HEART]
[ESSENCE: 5/6]

"Millian, calm down. I was using a Charm to Awaken Regis' Essence."

"You... WHAT?" She falls down on the floor, sitting up.

You sigh, and sit down on the bed, trying to look nonthreatening.

"...I can give this gift, to just a few people at a time. It's a blessing from the Unconquered Sun. It gives mortal a fraction of an Exalted's power. The ability to channel Essence, to wield artifacts, to use Charms and magic."

She slowly stands back up on her own, her eyes locked on Regis' forehead as the symbol vanishes.

"...You can DO that?" You see she has trouble standing upright from the revelation, or maybe all the things happening at once and the emotional turmoil she's in.

"...Yes. It's a bit overwhelming, so it knocked him out."

Nothing suspicious here, honestly.

She inches closer, drawn by Regis' sleeping face. "...Let me guess."

"Oh?"

"...He persuaded you with some stereotypical macho line like that he wants to protect me no matter what happens to him."

"...Well, actually, I've made the proposal to him, but yeah, he did say that line more or less." You giggle.

"...It's not fair." Again that phrase. She lifts her head, eyes red from crying. "...Miss Maka, I..." She looks like she's gathering her courage...

It takes a while for her to put together her sentence.

"...That idiot."

Well. That was simple.

"Lady Maka! I... I have a request."

You shift your weight and make yourself comfortable, waiting.

"I'll never ask anything else from you. I realize I'm already... I've already been so lucky. I've already had so much. But... Will you let me be even more selfish? One last request?"

You nod.

"I swear I'll never ask anything from you again. But... I don't want Regis to leave me behind like this. If he will fight for you... I want to do that too. I want to be to his side." She gestures at the cart full of clothes. "...I want to be able to do more than this."

"Even with this blessing, you're never going to be a match for an Exalted." You warn her.

"...I guess so." She mumbles. "But... I... I don't really have a reason for asking this, I guess. I... I just want to be able to be at Regis' side from now on. I don't want to be just... some kind of damsel in distress."

"...Well, up to yesterday the damsel in distress was Regis, actually." You smile.

You actually manage to get a smile out of her, and lighten the mood.

Hey EF, any chance we could get an estimate on how long it would take to Train up Milly?

I'm all for doing it, I'm just trying to think if it would be better to hold off until we do train her or do it now and let her get used to having Essence.
>>
Rolled 6 (1d10)

>(Other?)
We need to make sure that she's serious about this. We should give her a task to prove it, like doing some training in her spare time.
>>

>>38579330
She just asked for it and we always knew she would want it to be with regis. Stop delaying it, that's not moving the quest.
>>
>>38579305

Millian right now is:
Physical 1, Social 2, Mental 2
Dawn 1, Zenith 1, Twilight 2, Night 2, Eclipse 1

From the way she is now up to the maximum stats you can give her right now (up to 3/2/2 - 3/3/2/2/1), it would take 6 days.

Once you Awaken her Essence her cap goes up to 4, but you have 4 or more only in Zenith, which makes the new max 3/2/2 - 3/4/2/2/1. Seven days of training, 4 hours a day.

Incidentally, Regis is 3/1/2 - 2/1/1/2/1 right now.

To get both Milly and Regis up to at least Phys 3/Dawn 3 we need 5 days total, that leaves us with 2 extra days to put into some Zenith into them.

And that's just what we can give them, I think EF said they'll gain stats like we did when we first Exalted so we can have them focus on stuff too
>>
>>38579409
Oh, right, I miscounted
>>
While training, we should probably also save up xp for dawn or physical upgrades.

That way we get the full benefit of awakened essence minions + get better in fighting ourselves.
>>
"...Come here." You gesture to her, with a smile.

She approaches, cautiously, and you make her sit on your lap.

"...Wh... what do I need to do?" She asks, clearly feeling tense. Understandably so.

"Nothing." You whisper. "Just leave it to me."

"Um!" She interrupts you, "I... I promise... you won't regret... this... I'll make you proud."

"You don't need to. You already have." You brush her hair up, clearing the forehead, and kiss her on it.

The room is flooded with light as your Essence flows inside her soul and empower it.

She goes suddenly limp, and, like what happened with Regis, goes out cold, knocked unconscious by the shock.

You lay her delicately on the bed, next to Regis, side by side, and take a step back.

These two are so cute together.

You hope you did the right thing. You hope you made them safer, rather than put them even more in danger.

Right now, though, there isn't anything you can do. You have the feeling they'll be out for a while.

We can meet them at Pearl anon. The planning stages don't really require us since we don't have the sorcerous, technological, thaumaturgical, or economical savvy that our peers do.

What we CAN do is get cracking on motivating people and getting all the laborers committed to the task.

>>38579644
I wish we'd have time to Tiger Train anon, but I think spending 4 hours a day training Millian or Regis instead of hauling supplies or rallying flagging workers is a bad idea considering the level of threat heading our way.

don't be daft anon.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d10)

>>38579728
We have a lot of laborers already at Pearl doing foundation excavation according to Valeriana's plan.

I do agree with your thought to stay in Tianna for a short time to pep talk the people and maybe get some (all) of them to prepare to work their asses off. But we shouldn't spend too much time socializing when we don't need to.

Now is the time for elbow grease.
>>
You walk out of the room, pulling the cart full of piles and piles of clothes behind you, and close the door behind you with a half-smile.

Tia is nowhere to be seen. You wonder where she ended up.

You start going through the clothes. They're... a lot. Where did all these things come from?

You recognize some that must come from Amata's old wardrobe, adjusted for your sizes. But some are completely new. Some of these clothes are so bizarre and elaborate that it takes you a while to figure out how to wear them.

After a moment, you begin to notice the marks of Valeriana's handiwork. She must have made some more clothes while you were away, probably in her spare time. She seemed to enjoy doing that.

And you've seen her turn fabric and raw materials into a finished, extremely elaborate dress at incredible speeds.

You instinctively know that your powers let you "store" Elsewhere twenty-five sets of clothing. Now you only have to pick what to keep ready in your Charm and what to leave in a more conventional closet or chest in your room.

You can express howevermany votes you want, as long as they're meaningful (so no voting for "all of them", that's retarded). But if there's like some clothes you don't like but are fine with most you CAN vote for "everything except ## and ## and ##" or things like that. Of course, you can't vote twice for the same dress. The 25 clothes with the most votes get picked. If there's a tie, I'll decide.)

Father Ocean would probably slow them way down, which would be nice to buy maybe an extra day or two of time to get more done. But why slow when we can destroy?

Who's the god of Hurricanes? Lets talk to him/her.

Or maybe that Shark goddess with the megalodons.

Or the god/dess of Maelstroms.

Catch a chunk of that fleet in an exalted scale Charybdis and we can potentially drastically reduce the numbers of incoming enemies.

One by one, you wear the clothes on the cart that strike your fancy the most, or that seem fitting for this or that occasion, and with a though make them disappear off you one after another.

The scene does weird out some of the servants, maids and soldiers walking around the castle's corridors, but by now most of the people in Tianna have gotten used to this sort of events.

You have to hand it to Valeriana, she's gotten amazing at this. The ones Millian adjusted are sometimes a bit tight here and there or with some minor problem or issue, but everything she made are almost like a second skin, even the ones that you'd think should be amazingly uncomfortable, or that seem to defy the laws of physics in some way.

Once you're done and picked one of your favorite to wear, you try moving around in it a bit, slip your boots and gauntlets back on, and feel ready for business.

Regis and Millian will take a while more to wake up. And it might be better to leave them alone You quietly tie a red ribbon (taken from a dress you discarded) to the door handle, a sign for "do not disturb" in Tianna, and think on your next step.

I'm sure we can convince him to help out. The Lintha were bad, but Deathlords are awful, and we do have an okay plan for defending Tianna. I'm sure he won't want to see the place become a Shadowland.

Actually, why is the Silver Prince attacking us? He does have thirty First Age warships, some deathknights, an unknown number of warstriders and hundreds of elite troops, but Tianna is an incredibly hard target, with First Age defences and almost a dozen assorted Exalted around the island.

Maybe he feels that he needs to attack now, before our position becomes completely unassailable? Does it just come down to that?
>>

That's 21 choices. My vote is for the remaining 4 to remain open 'as needed,' and/or be filled with less pretty, more utilitarian outfits - like robes with a large hood and veil for a commoner disguise, for example, since we'll need very concealing, loose clothes if we're ever to go anywhere and not stand out for our staggering beauty, or specific uniforms like formal religious/queenly vestments as appropriate to the religion/nation we end up formally in charge of.

That, and if we always keep one slot open, we can always disappear anything we're currently wearing, to go from, for example, manacled and clad in rags, to nude and free.

Does that make sense to you guys? To spend less than 20% of our storage capacity on utility rather than fashion?

Disguise is Larceny (Night) + Manipulation (Social), right? Yeah, I'd be down for keeping a few situational disguises in our lineup. It might be a good idea to put a masquerade gown and mask in there, for example, in case we need to change up suddenly during a social event.

Hell, I'd be down for picking up a disguise charm, too, once the current threat of the Silver Prince is passed.

We REALLY shouldn't be picking up non-combat anythings starting now, and finishing with that situation being resolved one way or another. The army-fighting charm would be a good next purchase.

I'm all for picking up more combat/war charms, but I want to hold off on buying the mass combat attack on until we know more about what kidn of units the Silver Princes has, if he has mostly undead stuff like Tyrant did we can get rid of those with Banish the Darkness. If it turns out he has a variety of troops then yes, I'm all for that charm.
>>
>>38581108
I disagee completely. With this charm, Maka won't ever need new clothes again, unless they are forced on her.
>>
Rolled 10 (1d10)

>>38581185
I'd advocate getting it immediately. Considering the fact that these transports have, apparently, a very limited supply of troop capacity, we were advised that they would likely be carrying elite troops, rather than mooks. Exploding an army of undead minions is all well and good, but I don't expect to be getting that, especially since even the goddamn Tyrant is worried about what's coming.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d10)

>>38581189
And I disagree with your disagreement. Uniforms, disguises, situational outfits, and more. Keeping 4 slots open for utilitarian affairs is only a cost of 16% of our total capacity, and I think it's an investment worth making, because cool outfits aside, there might totally be times when we want to have other things on hand.

She MIGHT need new clothes ever again, forcedness totally aside.
>>
Rolled 3 (1d10)

>>38581204
Granted, the Tyrant was worried, but I suspect that having what amounts to something approaching a perfect circle standing ready to take on this bullshit... I dunno. There's much less doom & gloom than there'd otherwise be IMO.
>>
Rolled 1 (1d10)

>>38581225
The Tyrant has a pet perfect circle and was worried. We only have three of our own Solars on hand. We should be much more worried. Assuming we'll in any way be able to solve this situation with our 'bye bye undead' charm is silly. This is going to be an insanely serious fight, and we're probably going to lose exalts to it.
>>
Rolled 5 (1d10)

It depends on what classifies as an extra. Anything without a name? With one health? ones that are part of a group?

>>
>>38581237
No, the Tyrant had a Circle of Abyssals.

A *Perfect* Circle is a full circle of Solars, plus their Lunar mates, plus their Dragonblooded backup.

We're missing a Night caste, but we've to a n almost-full complement of lunars, and some fairly strong Dragonblooded.

This is on top of the Tyrant's Abyssal Circle.

>There isn't really a way to "become" one: if you are important enough to the plot to have a name and a face, instead of being a faceless member of a crowd, you're automatically "heroic". (this is not really canon, but it's how I run it.)

Hopefully we can loot other stuff from people we take down, but it'll stuck if there are no actual Warstriders and Silver Prince has nothing but Bonestriders or something.
>>
>>38581568
Interesting from a scientific standpoint, if nothing else. When is something considered clothing, and when is it considered really ineffective armour?

Charms come from the soul, so it's probably dependent on Maka's perception. In any case, we could easily do this by jumping into a vat of molten gold and using Hardship-Surviving Spirit to not die. We're strong enough to be able to move normally while wearing an unjointed sheet of solid gold, probably.

I'll admit that my exalted knowledge sucks, but is it beyond possibility that Karas could have been turned or otherwise manipulated as a newly exalted solar by an older and more powerful Death guy? I can't imagine a new solar would go unnoticed, especially if solars are the source of these folks.

>>38582235
Which combat charms?
Bear in mind that to effectively use the ones we already have in a battle will already drain us from max essence to zero very quickly, so if we went down that road we'd better stick to permanent only charms.
ie Solar Hero + Armoured in Righteousness + Two shots of Tex-Ox + Heroism Encouraging Presence (for the minions).
>>

Maka has very little formal training in unarmed combat. Think "a couple years of afterschool karate lessons twice a week when she was a kid" or something along those lines.

She mostly operates on that, plus a bit of instinct, riding muscle memory inherited from past incarnations of her Shard, and the experiences matured in the fights she's been in since exalting.

How the hell does a Dawn in a rowboat get enough sail charms to catch up to an Eclipse-with-sail-charms boosted superboat?

Did Karas just blow all his charm picks on sailing with nothing left for actually fighting?
>>

Eclipse is probably his Secondary, and he probably took more Sail charms than Mikahail instead of also buying merchant charms and shit.

For example, imagine if someone had Zenith as their secondary and used it to purchase exclusively harsh environment and animal-training Survival charms. They'd be wildly better at those things than us, despite them being Zenith things.

Does that make sense, anon?
>>
>>38582669

Wasn't he with other people on the boat ?
>>
Rolled 7 (1d10)

>>38582669
It's not like an Eclipse buying Sail charms makes them more effective than anyone else as long as they have the same eclipse score and if Karas has spent most of his time since he Exalted sailing around the West, yes it wouldn't be a surprise to find out he's loaded with Sail Charms

Maybe they simply both have the same amount of speed-improving Eclipse sail charms. Does that seriously sound like that terrifyingly big of an investment?
After all, as an example, you and Karas have the same number of range-improving Dawn archery charms.

No it was a one-man crew boat. Just him.

If they had the same amount, Mikhail should still be much faster since the superboat has a much higher baseline speed than a rowboat.

You swap around your clothes a bit, getting used to them and sorting out your mental inventory. Then you pick something that you know Pyre Spark will enjoy, and head to the room that's been temporarily allocated for her use while she's a guest in the castle.

Her reaction when you open the door is suitably priceless, eyes widening, mouth agape.

Then, she flies into your arms with a delighted scream. "DIVINE MAKAAAA~"
She doesn't hit quite as hard as Tia, but you do get a brief reminder that despite her harmless appearance she's actually a fully-trained Tiger Warrior.

"Hey, hey." You swing her around a couple of times before setting her down gently. "Did you miss me?"

"You have no idea! It was terrible! I was sooo worried!" She hugs you tighter, burying her face in your chest with delight "And I'm so happy now! To think you even managed to conquer a Deathlord, I knew you would do it! I never doubted you, Divine Maka! And you've returned from the ordeal even more beautiful and resplendent! The Unconquered Sun is rewarding you for your success without doubt!"

Pick one:
1) The charm just makes you sail at a specific speed rather than being an adder or a multiplier to the base speed of the ship.
2) Mikahil was purposefully moving slower than his theoretical top speed because of reasons Maka doesn't understand because she doesn't know how sailing works.
3) Magic.

>>
Rolled 5 (1d10)

>>38583130
It helps with long-term essence regain - during downtime, we'd need to rest for less time.

But that's never been our issue. Our issue is that we don't have enough essence mid-encounter to activate all of our fighting charms, and if we fight in two fights in a row without an extended rest, we're worthless in the second fight.

Normally, in Exalted, you gain 5-10% of your maximum essence back every action during a fight, meaning you can end a fight with 100% essence if you fight conservatively or the fight goes on long enough. In this quest, you usually end a fight at nearly 0% essence, because each passive buff takes almost 20% of your maximum pool, and there's no way to regain it save from long-term rest.

Essence-Gathering Temper would be a shitty bandaid for that, were it not for the fact that our combat style is designed around literally never taking damage.

So, to answer your question, no. A cult wouldn't fix what our actual problem is - the need to take downtime after literally every fight.

We were never on a boat though. It was and has always been a duck.

(Thank you. Rei is going to be happy to know that. The success of #53 does surprise me... I guess that's the only sort of underwear Maka is willing to wear. I'll leave how that thing stays in place up to your imagination, together with the realization that that thing was designed by either Amata, Valeriana, or Milliam. pick your pervert, I guess)

"Well... maybe." You reply with a smile. You consider striking a pose for her, to flaunt what you've got a bit, but you're afraid she might overreact. She seems a bit over-excited now. Must've been the tension of being in that meeting, sitting at the same table with you, but being unable to properly express herself.

You're actually surprised by her self-control back then. She clearly knows that Amata is really making a big exception by including her in these talks, since she did pride herself on the religious freedom and independence of Tianna. Letting her sit at that table without giving the same treatment to the representatives of all other cults and religions is nothing short of favoritism.

Speaking of which. Even though you learned to "tune out" the gentle buzzing noise Pyre seems to radiate, you get the feeling it's gotten slightly stronger than it was last time you've been with her.

"How's the Cult of the Unconquered Sun in Tianna and Pearl going?"

"Oh, we've been a bit busy with applying seals and blessings to the city walls lately, but we're mostly done with that, so I've focused a lot on evangelism now. Most of the people in the Cult are tidying up their things here in Tianna City, packing up, and moving to Pearl to settle and help in the construction effort."

"...I hope Amata isn't mad that we're depopulating Tianna." You have to wonder.

"Tianna was suffering a bit from overpopulation, so I don't think her majesty's too mad about that. In any case, once you will have defeated the second deathlord in a row, people from all over Creation will flock to Tianna to witness your splendour!"

This... isn't wrong. After Thorns, even people in the East will start making pilgrimage to Pearl. Or, well, attempting to, anyway. Getting to Pearl from the East is a bit like Aztecs making it to Mecca on slave-rowed ships. It's not really going to happen.

That kind of puts Maka being in Tianna in a new perspective. Maka being in Tianna is a bit like Marcus Aurelius fleeing to Japan following the death of Caesar. It's a fucking staggering journey, but one that's so retardedly distant that there's a 0% chance that mortal agents of the usurpers will pursue.

Maka must have had TREMENDOUS reason to be that scared.

Nah. Just rich by even Gem's standards, and with a mercenary army several times larger than that of most militant nations. The usurper is the canon ruler of Gem, and he's a ruthless fucking bastard - like most rulers of Gem.

Our parents were also probably ruthless, rich bastards, just less so, and thus got outplayed.
>>
Right.

On top of all your powers and blessings, you also have to deal with Pyre Spark being so incredibly head over heels with you and singing your praises and reminding you of how awesome you are. If you have any failings at all, you're certainly never going to hear any criticism from her.

You ARE worried that one day all of this will go to your head. Or maybe it already did.
...You'll handle this kind of soul-searching some other day.

"So... the Cult is growing?"

"It grew slowly but surely until yesterday, but I think just with today it tripled in size!"

"Why?" You wonder.

"Well, you DID defeat a Deathlord single-handedly! And, on top of that, more and more people from Tianna are joining the Cult just after seeing you! It- it's a bit troublesome in a certain way, but it's definitely the good sort of trouble."

That sounded weird. "What do you mean?"

"Well..." She looks like she's struggling with finding the right words to explain. "As more and more people join, it'd becoming harder and harder to keep the... orthodoxy? If that's the right word? Of the cult."

She's trying to be diplomatic about it, but you instinctively know what she means. More and more people in the cult are starting to worship you directly rather than the Unconquered Sun.

Of course, Pyre will consider this a bad thing only as much as you do. You have absolutely no doubt that her own prayers, thoughts and wishes make up a decent percentage of the steady, ever-growing trickle of Essence flowing in you.

"...Pyre, I want you to straighten the cult a bit."

She sounds almost hurt by the remark. "Our worship does not satisfy you, Divine Maka?"

"It's not that." You gently ruffle her hair, and you're surprised by how cat-like the buzzing, purring sound in your head becomes. "But the Cult worships the Unconquered Sun, and it stays that way. He is the one more worthy of worship."

"...Yes, Divine Maka."

"But, I won't deny being worthy of worship myself, although in a far lesser amount." You admit. It's not even a matter of modesty: at this point, it would be just silly self-denial to claim that you don't deserve prayer to your name. "No one should be forbidden from praying to me. Just... privately. Don't make it part of the official worship practices of the cult, and don't encourage it."

She nods.

"Which brings us to the second subject." You smile, and gently put an arm around her. "Would you like to receive a special blessing, from the Unconquered Sun himself, through my own power?"

For a few seconds, she stands there, transfixed, her eyes lost in yours as her brain processes the information.

Then, she slowly starts to slip out of her flower-ridden two-piece swimsuit, blushing furiously. "...I... I am not worthy of such a gift, but... if that is your will, I will gladly submit to it." She says, baring herself completely to you.

For a moment, you're lost in contemplation of her naked form.

As a mortal, you would consider her quite beautiful. But minute imperfections acutely remind you that those Exalted blessed with a delightful appearance, like Tia and Amata and many of those living with you, are in an entirely different league, and that now you yourself are in an even superior league compared to them.

You see her knees shaking, and not from the cold. She must be feeling horridly envious, or supremely inadequate. Or terrified, you realize. Terrified that she will not be enough for you That must be her greatest fear.

And she's right. Compared to the Exalted, she's nothing special. Maybe a cute diversion. Compared to yourself, she's utterly unremarkable if not unlikable. That is, considering only her appearance and presence.

How important is that to you?

"...Well, it wasn't a metaphor for anything." You laugh.

She looks up, awkwardly confused, clinging to you.

"I mean that I have the power to awaken your Essence, and grant you a fraction of the power and magic of a Solar. It's a blessing I can perform on only a handful of people, and I wanted to grant it to you." You gently sweep her off her feet and lay her down on her bed. "It might be a bit traumatic, however. And..." Your face tenses up as you shift to the more serious implications. "...You've seen what an Exalted fight is like, with Peleps Deled. It will be worse. Far worse. This will give you a lot more responsibilities. Put you even more in harm's way. And you will become even more of a target for whoever wants to hurt me than you already are. I want you to consider this seriously."

"My body and my soul are yours to do with as you wish." She says, with absolutely no hesitation, staring straight into your eyes.

(Seems she thinks too highly of you to actually remember calling you something as lowly as "mistress"). You need to remind her.

You gently brush her hair back, and kiss her on the forehead.

[KISS OF THE SUN]

The room goes white with light once again, and you see her eyes blaze with the force of Essence being forced inside her. Her mouth lets out a long, inarticulate sound, merely the noise of air being forced out of her lungs in a squeal of confused delight.

...The body of Pyre Spark burns up with Essence, the light coursing into every vein of her body, and she trembles in your arms. However, something unexpected happens.

Rather than going limp and fainting, like Regis and Millian did, she seems to hold on to her consciousness. You feel her arms clenching around you with the disproportionate force of a bear hug in the throes of her ecstasy.

When she reopens her eyes, their color has changed.

"...That... was amazing." She mumbles. You feel the buzzing noise emanating from her, tingling in the back of your head, becoming that much clearer, that much more definite, focused, stronger.

Acting of her own initiative, she pulls herself up to you from the bed, and steals a white-hot kiss from you. The flows of Essence in her body, still rearranging themselves, mark that as well, with a yellow glow sticking to her lips like a golden lipstick.

Then, riding on your own Essence high, you lean down, closer to her chest, and plant a third, gentle kiss between her breasts, and a fourth one on her navel.

You both go further on from there. Much further.

[SESSION END]

Neat.

Hey quick question about the mass combat attack charm, does that factor in all of our combat damage sources, like our gauntlets or charms we use?

I could see it happening, we haven't seen them open their eyes after all.

A part of me is really wanting Regis to learn TWTT so we can train people twice a day.

>>
>Fists of Iron (1 Ess, Scene. +1 damage once per combat, per enemy)
I like this one if we're going to be fighting Heroic characters, we won't always be guaranteed to be fighting them all at once in a group after all.

That Shockwave Fist though, attacking from 60 meters is fucking crazy, we should think about that later.

Regiment Slaying Strike is good against big mobs, but we can already kill armies of undead extras, so it isn't very useful for our current situation
>>
>>38584762
Regiment-Slaying Strike, please. We've needed to be better at mass combat for a long time now, and simultaneously commanding our soldiers and serving as a mass combat unit in our own right would really help with that.
>>
Bank the XP.
>>
Generally speaking, is Sun kissed > Heroic Mortal ?
>>
>>38584719
I dunno. I think I would like it if Pyre is the only one with the golden eyes, since she has been so devoted to the UCS for so long. She who sees his work everywhere now sees with eyes touched by his own power.

And maybe now she can leave temporary kisses of sunlight on people as a priestly blessing.
>>
>>38584974
Yes, that was the whole point of buying the charm and using it.

What we did was awaken the essence of our Heroic Mortals, giving them access to charms, artifacts, high stat caps, longer lives, all that good stuff.
>>
>>38584974
Generally, yes, because Sun-Kissed are already heroic mortals that have received a stronger-than-normal Essence Awakening on top of that.
>>
>>38584974
Yes, obviously? Heroic Mortals are what all three of them were before being Sun-kissed - before being Tiger Warriors, even. Being a Heroic Mortal just means you have a name and a face, rather than being listed as something like 'Soldier #5' in the credits.
>>
>>38584778
Holy crap. That means that with the bonus from our artifact gloves and Ten Ox Meditation, we could deliver max allowable system damage to an entire army.

Over 100 years. Not multiple centuries, though. These guys are still weaker than the Dragon-blooded, including not healing from wounds with Exalted ease. They'll be crippled and healing for weeks or months to recovery from injuries that we heal in an extra-long night of rest, just like normal mortals.

Con: i really dont see any
Adamant Skin Technique Pro: Invincibility, crazy awesome shenanigans
Con: only two rounds

>>38585127
Around a few hundred years if they take very good care of themselves. Shorter than a dragon-blooded, but on the same order of magnitude.

>>38585146
A Sun-Kissed is sort of like a god-blooded, yes. It's hard to make a general rule that the Sun-Kissed are stronger than mortals who have awakened their essence on their own or in other ways. They're not that dissimilar or distant from one another. But if you mean all other things being equal (like, with equal XP and everything), then yes, a Sun-Kissed enjoys some extra benefits.

I'm also tallying the votes. 20 costumes have scored 7 or higher, so they're in.

7 costumes have exactly six votes each, but you only have 5 slots left, and there was a general idea of keeping a few (2-3) slots free for disguises and priestly-queenly uniforms.
They're:

Fist of irons is more about taking out groups of heroic characters, notice it dies plus one damage per enemy one a scene.

So our first attack on every enemy will do two base damage.

This one. I didn't vote the first round FYI
>>
>>38584762
Regiment-Slaying Strike. 1 Essence for +1 Damage once per enemy is nice, but if we're fighting enough enemies for it to really be useful, it'd be better to attack them all add one group anyway. Fists of Iron looks like it's mostly for bouncing from one exalt/god to another, landing fearsome blows and then letting your followers/circle finish them off, since it only works once per enemy in a scene.

>Fists of Iron Technique

It's a prereq for more Solar Hero Charms, so might as well.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Compairing different XP is a bit silly, since a Sun Kissed could theoretically beat a starting DB. (Phys 4/Dawn 4 + one or two combat "charms")

Well fortunately we have 7 days before that flotilla arrives. Assuming we timeskip some of it we'll probably have 3 or 4 sessions before the explosive climax.

That's a potential minimum of 8 xp plus whatever else we accomplish during that time. Plenty to grab another useful charm or two to deal with the Prince

Say, because this thread is a good opportunity, does awakening one's essence really feel as blissful as Pyre made it out to be? Don't remember any passage about that specifically
>>
>>38585304
Could someone post them in the thread, please? Makes it easier to check them, and I can't open imgur links on my phone.
>>
>>38585453
It depends on the method. Some force your Chakras open in a horribly painful and potentially fatal blast of essence, for example. Your question is a bit like asking if all foods taste as good as bacon.

I like these two for Queenly-Priestessy stuff

Do we have a good combat set?

Hey EF, how much did out Cult Rating jump up by?

Any hints at what Awakening Pyre did to our rating?

I like to think of it this way. She is devoted heart and soul to the Unconquered Sun and us, as a pretty pretty Solar. We just filled her to bursting with his pure, unfiltered Essence. We gave her soul the D.

Is the only one I care. Maka needs something that's good with underwear/somethingtohidethepussy. Everything is commando.

Well, she could go commando with this as well.

So that's why Millian was so worried when she walked in on us with a passed out Regis

In sure Tia has forms small enough to do this, maybe she's done it before.

Damn, we should have left a kiss mark at the basis of Pyre's spine, right above her booty.
