You are Kat. A charismatic streetwise orphan turned Pokemon trainer. You, your Pokemon, and your human friends are collecting badges, fighting Team Imperium, sometimes getting involved with local affairs, and exploring together. One day you'll become a Pokemon master and prove that you're worth something!

Recently: You contacted a Devon Corp representative in your bid to get an advanced cybernetic eye for Robin. You and Robin had sexy times with Clair. Vlad has been found, but he's been getting busy making eggs with Golbats and Zubats and now you have a whole pile of them at Professor Fir's lab.

Traveling Companion(s):
Robin http://pastebin.com/VNiifuf8
Vance http://pastebin.com/H77kiB0e
Clair: http://pastebin.com/6iXFJAax
Jeanine: http://pastebin.com/Q6iTHtYx

Badges: 5

Current Party:
Devon (Houndoom)
Nibbles (Tyrunt)
Destiny (Seadra)
Trunks (Trevenant)
Leviathan (Gyarados)
Vlad (Golbat)

Not In Party:
Zappy Dan (Magnezone)
Raistlin (Kadabra) - Currently being swapped
>>
“I want Raistlin,” you say. You’re not sure if you’ll want him for the Steel type gym battle coming up or not, but you want him in your party right now.

The professor recalls Raistlin into his Pokeball and prepares the machine. “So, who are you sending back?”

You decide to swap out Leviathan for now. You make the trade using the PC, and immediately see the professor taking Levi out and giving her a scratch behind the ear. She lets out her version of a purr.

“You know, Pokemon other than Devon can mega-evolve too. Gyarados are said to be even more fearsome. I’d love to see that some time.”

That has your full attention. “Do you think Levi might mega-evolve?”

He laughs as he continues scratching Leviathan. “I’m afraid that’s something you’d have to tell me. It’s a frustrating subject to study since so much of it depends on the bond between trainer and Pokemon instead of consistent lab results. That’s why I never made it my area of focus.” He swooshes back to you in his dashing lab coat. “But if any more of your Pokemon do, please let me know. I’m sure I can write a thesis or two on the results.”

He gives you a farewell and you end the call.

Vance gives you a pat on the back. “Ready to meet that Devon Corp agent?”

“Let’s go!”

You call up the agent on the card. He arranges to meet at a little cafe. “Bring that Adonis and the blonde too, if they’re interested.”

Jeanine elbows Vance. “You did say you’d help however you can.”

He rubs the back of his head, not sure what he’s gotten himself into.

The five of you meet at the cafe, and the waitress takes you to the table on the back porch. The agent is there with a drink in hand, reading some sort of paper. He beckons you over and orders drinks for everything. after you’re settled in, he gets down to business.

"You've been busy since you got into town." He casually stirs the ice in his drink. "That public match, a shopping spree, a night of dancing..." He looks up to get a good look at your face. Clair starts sipping her straw and doesn’t stop.

"You were spying on me," you say flatly.

"Not me personally, kid. Just some friends of mine." He takes a sip. "How does that make you feel?"

Is this an honest question? A test? His whole demeanor is different.

>You're damn mad! You didn't sign up for anything yet!

A small flying type Pokemon lands on his shoulder. You’re guessing it’s his, based on how he feeds it from his plate.

“Next time I’m getting Raistlin to screen out the creepers,” you mutter.

“What was that?”

“Not surprised,” you say, acting casual. “I’d have to expect this sort of thing. Besides, if I’m going to be the champion, people will recognize me anyway.”

He laughs at your audaciousness. “I’m glad. I hate that part. You’re doing well though. No jitters, no reservations. We can work with the bad girl stuff." He looks over your clothes, and then in the eye. "Kid, I get why you're doing this, and I respect the hell out of it. You're genuine, the real deal. That's rare in this business."

"You're not just going to flatter me all day, are you?" You joke, trying to keep things light until you know more about his intentions.

"What I mean is, sometimes even the most sincere people have to do a bit of faking it to get ahead, or at least be diplomatic under stress. You can do that, right?" His Pidove nudges his hand, wanting more food.

You smile, relieved. "Trust me. I can do it."

He gives you one more appraising look. "Usually I have some pop quizzes, but I think we can skip that." He pushes a few papers your way. "Give me a few weeks of your time and do what I say, and I promise I'll put you in a position to demand whatever you want from Devoncorp."

There's a list of scheduled events. From your 'discovery' on a talent show, an appearance on a talk show, a guest appearance on a sitcom, hosting an episode of Pokemon Trainer Tips With the Experts, Pokemyth Bursting, some voice acting, being 'featured' in a new album by a famous entertainer, and a lightweight role as the romantic lead in an action movie. Between each event you're expected to film commercials too. It looks like it will keep you really busy for awhile.

"Is this normal?" You look over it. "Is it always planned like this? It's so artificial."

He laughs. "Kid, in this industry, nothing is normal, and everything is fake."

You frown. It's not very often that someone else considers you naive.

He pushes the contract forward. As he’s doing so, he turns to Vance and Jeanine. “I have some different ones for you two if you don’t mind a little tasteful modelling.”

You look over to Robin. You feel like you have a pretty good idea what’s involved, but there’s some legal wording that’s a little beyond you.

Robin goes over it carefully, then Clair. They chat about some terms and legal definitions while Jeanine and Vance give it a look. You can tell those two are just as lost as you though.

Clair slams the contract down on the table. “First, this acceptable behavior clause has got to go. That’s just not going to fly. Second, we reserve the right to get out after two months. Third, residuals on all products and commercials featuring her likeness. Fourth-”

Clair goes on like this for awhile. Robin whispers into her ear, but doesn’t confront him directly. He patiently listens to the entire thing. It quickly goes from perfectly reasonable to pretty outlandish.

“There’s no way I can do that,” he says as Clair starts demanding you get naming rights to their skybox at the Pokemon League arena.

“Fine,” she folds her arms. “Then we just have one demand after number three” She nudges you.

Right! You give a confident air and name the reason you're here in the first place. “We need a guarantee on the eye.”

He sighs. “I don’t have the power to put that in the contract, but I can promise if you trust me and do what I say, I can make it happen.”

You quickly glance to Clair to see if he's telling the truth. She gives a confused, then angry look. "Perspicuital," she mutters.

He taps his head. "Very good, Clair. I did my research."

Robin leans in to explain it to you. "Perspicuital is a drug that dampens psychic powers. It's used by psychics that can't control it, or don't want to have access to their own abilities. It has a side effect of stopping someone from using powers on you, too."

"Not completely," Clair adds. "I can still get glimpses." She seems to be taking this as a challenge.

He turns from Clair to you and softens a bit. "I am being honest. I've just been in this business long enough to know how psychics and sour things."

"I think he's telling the truth about that," Jeanine gives her input, "but you're not telling us the full story, are you?"

He shrugs.

You have some concerns that you voice to him.

“How are these activities meant to gel with my image? They seem very...cultured, and formal, for the 'genuine' counter-cultural image you apparently wanted.” You start to get up. “Maybe I should talk to Prosapia.”

He leans back and feeds his Pokemon. “Truth be told, I’m sort of expecting you get fed up with the whole thing and make a rampaging mockery out of it.” He looks ready for you to be offended. When you aren’t, he continues. “Tell you what, kid. Let’s forget the commercials, forget the talent show, the sitcom, the voice acting. I have a different proposal.”

You sit back down. “I’m listening.”
“If you really want to go all in on the wild, bad girl stuff, let’s do that. Get some punk clothes, put our logo on or wear one of our hats, then go get arrested for something petty. I don’t know, graffiti up some mining equipment or party too hard. We’ll play you up as having always been famous and react to the scandal. Then we get you on a talk show where the hosts ask what went wrong and you make a scene. Try to use some sort of catch phrase. We’ll sell shirts.” He gets excited, imagining how the whole thing will play out. “You get your voice on a rap album. Don’t worry, the studio can clean it up if you sound bad.”

“Then what?” You ask.

“Then we sell your clothing line. Something a little trashy with a touch of empowerment. As long as you can keep your name on people’s lips. It’ll move. I can’t promise I can deliver the eye for free, but I can put it in your contract in lieu of royalties in you sell enough.”

You look to your friends. They all want to support you, but there are mixed feelings about watching you crash and burn publicly. You can tell from Robin’s face that she’s concerned you’ll fall into some bad habits.

You propose something else. “Why not just focus on me being a Pokemon trainer? We can do the clothing line and other stuff, but we make it more outdoorsy. You can expand from clothes into all sorts of things. Pokeballs, repels, Escape Rope. There's no limit!”

He thinks it over. “How do we market it?”

“Get a camera crew to follow me around. Trust me, we’ve been up to some crazy stuff. Real stuff. Things that make my battle with Dick look mundane.”

He folds his arms, but looks impressed at your tenacity. “Oh, like what?”

You waggle your finger. “Nah ah. First, after the eye is paid for, I get regular residuals. Second, before I tell you anything you’re going to sign an...ummm...uh.”

“NDA,” Robin helps.

“That’s right. An NDA first.” You put your hands on your hips.

He laughs. Not the laugh he’s been giving to be jovial, but a full bellied, hearty laugh that makes him seem almost human. “Kid,” he wipes a tear from his eye. “You’re going to go far. Alright. I like it. It’s insane enough to get viewers from the premise alone. I only have one condition.” He turns serious. “I want to know how you beat Emma.”

“I’ll show you, but not here.”

He picks up the tab and you find somewhere out of the immediate public view. “Alright kid, let’s see what you’ve got that was worth dragging me out here.”

You take out Devon and start petting him. He licks your face in excitement. “I need you to keep this on the down-low for now. I want it to be a surprise.”

He nods and leans against a wall, waiting for you to show him what the big deal is.

“Come on boy, let’s show him what you’ve got!” You give him the gesture for mega-evolution. Nothing happens. Devon growls and struggles, but to the naked eye it looks like he’s either mad at the air or constipated.

Jeanine comes over. “Whenever he’s done it before, he’s been responding to a need. Maybe you need the right motivation.”

You laugh. “Having a little performance issue, give me a minute.”

“It’s usually my male stars that need help with that, kid.” He jokes. You can tell he’s becoming less impressed though.

You tune him out and kneel by Devon. “I don’t want to push you, but I need your help. We need to do this for Robin. I need to do it for Robin.”

You can tell by Devon’s eyes that he desperately wants to help you, even if he doesn’t fully understand the circumstances. He barks, filling you with new life.

“Thanks.” You close your eyes and concentrate. You said you’d make this right, and you meant it. You need to make this work.

You feel like your second half has joined you. Now you feel the intense need to make your trainer happy. You need to be strong to protect her. Especially because she’s so reckless. You were never the biggest or the strongest growing up and sometimes that made things hard, but you’ve found a trainer that accepts you. You’ve both grown together.

You feel powerful. You almost need to show off your strength. You open your eyes.

“Holy...” the human that Kat is trying to impress takes his sunglasses off.

No, you’re Kat.

Robin jumps up and down excitedly. Vance offers you a hard pat on the back that nearly knocks you over and Devon growls. He stops growling when your surprise fades. Jeanine and Clair offer a congratulations.

“You’re the real deal, kid.” He approaches Devon slowly. The man smells strange.

You let it wear off and Devon goes back to normal. It’s exhausting, but you did it on your own.

He comes back down to Earth as slowly as you do, then goes back to being all business. “Right. We save that for something big. Kid, I think this is the beginning of something beautiful. I’ll get a camera crew together and put things in motion. They’ll meet you in about a day if I’m lucky.”

You put your hands on your hips. “Great! I’m looking forward to it.”

“With your moxie kid, you’ll do great.” He gives you a smile as he cleans his shades.

"Thank you. For believing in me. Kinda... not used to adults doing that, still." You feel a little guilty saying that when Professor Fir and Emma have been supporting you, but you had to struggle to prove yourself to Emma, and you think of Fir a little differently since he’s so young.

He gives you another serious look. “Kid, I believe in good investments of my time. I like you, I really do, but I can’t afford to let that get in the way if things somehow go South. Nobody else in the industry will either, no matter what they say.”

You nod. It’s a little hurtful to hear, but you don’t want to show it. Somehow you think he meant that in a supportive way though. “I’ll keep that in mind. I have one more thing. I want to screen the crew before they follow us around.”

He starts walking away. “Even I can’t be picky assembling a crew for this. Get some ratings first, then you can do whatever you want.” He waves without looking back. “Break a leg kid, I’ll be rooting for ya.”

“So uh, this will be interesting,” Vance says. “Beats underwear modeling though.”

Devon barks. He’s happy things worked out. You are too.

Will our Porygon/2/Z end up messing with the camera crews' stuff? Will that be how we finally get it?
>>
>>38597044

Yeah Drain Punch and Fire Punch would be good for this Gym and Miracle Eye would be useful in general
>>
>>38597109
Physical moves would be a huge waste. Fire Punch is completly inferior to HiddenPower Fire, since his PhyAttack is practically nothing, especially compared to his huge SpecAttack.
>>
>>38597109
Nah, what he needs is Recover or Psychic.
>>
>>38597129

Is there a move that switches Special and Physical attack?
If so that could be a good combo with Charge Beam, Teleport, and Drain Punch
>>

There isn't.
>>
>>38597152
Calm Mind would be good too.
>>
>>38597166
>>38597199

There is, Power Swap, but Kadabra can't learn it
>>
>>38597290
Power Swap doesn't do that. It changes increases between the pokemon and the opponent.
>>
>>38597166
Psyshock damages using the opponent's physical defense
>>
>>38597290
Thats not at all what Power Swap does, I have no idea where you even get the idea it does that.
>>
You want to make sure you’re at your best for when the camera crew show up. Everyone else feels the same way.

Clair and Robin hold a casual two on two. Alakazam and Gardevoir against Gyarados and Vulpix.

Jeanine and Vance have their Pokemon out, but they’re not battling. Jeanine is meditating with Vance’s Pokemon, while Vance is running Jeanine’s on some exercises. Sneasel is out, but they’re both keeping a very close eye on him.

What kind of training will you do? You have all day.

There is no move that sitches special attack with physical attack.

Robin’s Gyarados has been making some crazy progress. It seems so much more calm and cooperative than Levi, trusting Robin’s every command. Her Vulpix is looking a lot stronger these days too. It’s coat is looking really good, and the flames it produces are fantastic.

You notice that Vance and Jeanine have gotten a lot of progress too. They’ve spent a lot of time on learning about pressure points.

You figure you’ll evolve Destiny and Raistlin and give them the majority of your attention and training today. You'll split the remainder of your time with the others.

First is evolving Destiny. She misses Swift Swim, so you want to get her feeling right again. You ask for Robin’s help for a minute and check with Destiny first before going forward. “This is something you want, right, Destiny?”

She bounces in anticipation. You feel a little guilty about the time she’s spent in this form, but you’re glad she’s eager to move on.

“Okay!” Robin gets excited. “I really like watching evolutions.” She offers up Dratini.
You both get ready. You reach into your pocket for the Dragon Scale, but can’t seem to find it. You swear you just had it on you.

Your eyes fall on Sneasel, whose fiddling with something in his hands. His body is blocking your view so you can’t see what.

You can surprise him and easily get it back, but you know how quick he can be if he thinks he’s being threatened. You might have a really hard time of it if you don’t surprise him.

>Teach that jerk a lesson! Destiny, Outrage!
>Try to sneak up and take it
>Tell Vance to get it back. He needs to take charge of Sneasel
