You run up the side of the grassy hill, making speed until your lungs burn from exertion, carried like a cloud by wind. You reach the top of the hill, sun shining and lean on your knees, lungs burning.

Your Sworn Brother stands there with a smirk on his face, Zhu'er seated next to him.

'Did you run all the way here Bro?' he asks in surprise, grinning.
You're so happy to see him you can't help but return it.

'So what? Kamushin's overhead anyway, if I wanted to fly I would,' you say, brushing it off, you say, pointing a thumb skyward.

From a narrative standpoint, a prophecy is not a very good one of you look back and none of it makes sense in retrospect and none of it was foreshadowed and the truth all came out at the same time.

Since the Immortal was speaking of their relationship to you in both metaphorical terms as well as literal ones.

Admittedly some of these characters you haven't even met yet so you couldn't possibly know them, but not nearly as many as some of you might think, and for the ones you haven't met you'll meet them and hopefully look back and go "oh, so THAT'S what he meant".

In case folks were wondering though, the Immortal isn't just a foreshadowing plot device; he actually has a backstory relevant to what's going on.

The best ones are (in my opinion) the ones that make enough sense that when you have roughly half or more of it figured out you can figure out the rest without much effort.

These were actually really hard to word; being direct would give away...well, a lot, so I used no names, but giving exact locations is just sort of boring narratively; the guy turns into some weird talking grouchy version of a Zelda map that shows you where the heart pieces are then.

So instead I used this to give you insight to their inner thoughts, which is something otherwise you wouldn't have and gives you a solid chance of guessing right while still leaving things in the air.

Actually the explanation is sort of hilariously more mundane.

Basically the Immortal doesn't know anything about any of these people because he hasn't met them; Chinese deities aren't really the Judeo-Christian all-knowing type, and Daoist Immortal's were once human.

Rather what he's doing is checking up on the vague lines of your fate and destiny since he was connected to you at the moment as well as metaphysically entangled with you and your father, and then seeing who's fate links up with yours.

Since he doesn't know any of these people personally he has to go by their literal or metaphoral current/future relationships and entanglements with Sky rather then their actual names.

He worded the prophect as literally as he honestly could; his situation forces him to tell the absolute truth as far as he's aware of it.
