Our Current Stats: http://pastebin.com/iahm4JSj (Please have a look at them, but don't feel obligated to read it all in one sitting- use it as a guideline if you're drawing a blank or need some contextual information as I've essentially compiled every piece of information that's relevant to our civilization.) *Updated with new long term stuff*
Our Current Bestiary: http://pastebin.com/TWY0QfWA (Please have a look, but don't feel obligated to read it in one sitting- it's VERY extensive and currently in "alpha" since I'd like to make an illustrated pdf.)
Our Current Resource List: http://pastebin.com/X2EGb3Es (This is completely new and might be sloppy, but please have a look!)

You've finally entered into a age where things have never been so different; the world seems so small now, your cities burst forth with people, the wonder and mysticism of our world seems to be slowly fading away as it's replaced with the modernity and awareness that these contemporary times bring with them.

>CIVILIZATION MILESTONE ACHIEVED: Metropolis Status Achieved.
>This has been a long time running, but you've finally achieved "Metropolitan" status. We won't go into detail's here, but the long-term effects are listed in your stats, please go have a look at them when you can.

(2nd post incoming with "short term" developments)
>>
> - Cultural Development: Poor Urban Gorgon Diet
>It hasn't been a problem until now, but it could become one with time: Gorgon Nutrition in Urban Areas has begun to be noticed: Gorgons are suffering from fatigue, skin-problems, complications during egg-laying, and children taking longer to mature. This has been found out to be caused by a poor diet: Gorgons require large quantities of Calcium and Animal protein which they typically get from Eggs, Insects, Bones, Mushrooms, Fish, Dairy, and Meat, but have trouble receiving from plants, fruits, and nuts due to their carnivorous tendencies. Cyclopes have no such problems, they crave salt, calcium, fiber, carbohydrates and protein- but they can digest it from a wide variety of food products.

>+/- Economic Development: Exotic Animal Trade
>The Exotic Animal trade has been sparked and initiated by the Changelings as they've been allowed greater mobility and access to your lands. They are a different people, with different cultural values, and very different motivations: They are purchasing both legally and illegally "exotic" animals to be used for entertainment, personal collections, or to be imported to the Northern Hemisphere for substantial financial gain. Exotic animals include: Dinosaurs, Dragons, Wyverns, and various other Megafauna. This has drawn tension and the ire of both Gorgon and Southern Cyclopes cultures as they view most of these Animals as sacred to some degree.

>+/- Personal Development: Akalade is Middle Aged
>Akalade is almost 800 years old and he is finally starting to feel his age: He sometimes sleeps all day, his work has slowed down a bit, but he seems more methodical and technical in his processes. Akalade might not actually be immortal and just severely long lived, but either way; Foliatom has begun spending an awful lot of time with him at the Observatory.

Alright the HERE WE GO MOTHER FUCKERS
First the Basics of the deck because it ended up drastically different from a normal deck

Cyclops Elemental Table:
-All things are comprised of 8 Elements. 4 Physical, 4 Metaphysical.
-The Physical are: Water, Fire, Air, Earth
-The Metaphysical are: Mind, Emotion, Connection, Substance.
-Colors are as followed: Water-Blue, Fire-Red, Air-Silver, Earth-Green, Mind-Tan, Emotion-Orange, Connection-Gold, Substance-Purple.
-Every Major Arcana represents either 1 single pair (physical+metaphysical), or 1 single element (physical or metaphysical)
-There are 16 “Paired” Major Arcana, and 8 Single Major Arcana.
>>

>>38705107
Yes, this.

>>38704878
Let's start building some plumbing.
>>
>>38705129
-”Paired element arcana are “Alloys” and the single element arcana are “Sources”
-The First Four Cards are the Dominant Physical Elements. The Last 4 Cards are the Dominant Metaphysical Elements
That gives us a complete tarot.
24 Major Arcana
4 suits of 14 cards each.
Symbolism of the Cyclopean Tarot.
Human Tarot is a journey from nothingness to completeness. It assumes disconnection from the cycle, a beginning and an end. Cyclopean Tarot instead assumes that nothing is independent of anything else. There are “Sources” and there are “Mixes”, and everything plays into the cycle. The Cyclopean Tarot begins with the Sea, the Source of Water, which touches all lands and from which all life springs, but ends with the Hymn, the Source of Connection, the song of souls that all newborns can hear and all creatures become used to, the font of magic and the method of manipulating the world through song.

Eyes-Water / Mind- The Suit of introspection, of one's self, society or world. Often dealing with issues of ones growth, thoughts and ideals, and representing such concepts as religion, philosophy, ethics, and morality. To the Adventurers these cards would represent his force of will, the strength of his mind, the conviction behind his believes. To the Sage they would be the keys to his magic, the answers to the great questions, insights to truth, or challenges to his way of thinking. And to the simple Cyclops the challenges of change, of himself and others.

0th The Sea
As with all life, the Cyclops begins from the Sea. From the grand depths rising above the shining surface to begin his life.

The Story of Life: A cyclops is born with all the world prestien in his eye.
The Hero’s Journey: The Hero embarks on his vast voyage, all horizons filled with possibility.

Represents: Beginnings, Life, Adventure, Possibility
Reversed: Hardship, new struggles, Great danger(Progenitor)
Element: Water

1st The Sun
The great father that allows life to survive beyond the depths, a stern figure and harsh figure, but still caring. His words are rules and not to be trifled with. He was the first to take the cyclops beneath him and lead them through their new world.

Represents: Order, Laws and fatherhood. A symbol of guidance and of authority
Reversed: Anger, lawlessness, harsh realities(The sun will not always be kind, if always looking for our interests)
Element: Fire

2nd The Stars
The Ancestors that have come before, staying amongst the heavenly bodies with their father to watch over their kin and children. No one should ever feel alone so long as their family is watching. A cyclops will always be more them himself, he is his community and they are him, they will travel the world together and shape each other.

Represents: Community, Family, Wisdom, guidance (Softer than the sun)
Reversed: Solitude, loss, betrayals, Ineptness
Element: Air
3rd The Spirits
Once the cyclops had found each other they turn outward and look to the lands. There they heard them, singing softly. A hymn so unlike the song of the cyclops, yet so very familiar. They were the hymns of the spirits. Of earth and fire, of water and air and of all the multitudes in between. From learning these hymns and from harmonizing with the spirits the cyclops learned and grew. Magic was discovered and the land was befriended. As did the first Cyclops as should all Cyclops. To learn of their world and of the magic intrinsic to it, to be at peace and one with the land not to fight it.

Represents: Magic, earth, natural world, music, harmony
Reversed: disharmony, bad weather, pollution, powerlessness
Element: Earth
>>
Wow, this is still going? Neat.

I remember seeing this when it was, what, song of stone? I remember the cyclopes had learned to tame particularly hardy plants with anger or something after the plants scared the gorgons.

What's happened since then? Have you run out those bad gorgons to the east?

I'm about to give a history lesson via tarot cards so maybe it'll help

4th The Elf
For the ages untold the cyclops had only themselves and the land, the beats and the seas, content with their life unchanging. Then came the day when an encounter was had, spotting was a creature unlike any seen before. Upright like they, but two eyed like a beast. This was the day when change would come to the cyclopes. Every cyclops will one day encounter something that will make him change, whether it be a change to his body, or the world changing his ideals.

Represents: Men, Change, chance encounters, discovery, new worlds, new ideas, new people new things (Newness as a concept as a whole) This is the symbol of the elves (Duh)
Reversed: Stagnation Narrowness (Mind, perspective) corruptions(So far as bad changes go)
Element: Earth/Connection
5th The First Gorgon
Once the cyclops expanded their world the met yet again another new being. If the Elves were a being most unlike the cyclops, the Gorgon were creatures of pure fantasy. A slave left as either appeasement or present for the cyclops, they broke her chains and found both new lands and new friendships. As with his predecessors a cyclops will always be exploring, whether it is new lands or new horizons, he must meet them with courage and with arms open to new people.

Represents: Women, Explorations, new worlds(Post discovery as opposed to the elf) friendships, bravery, The symbol of the Gorgons (duh)
Reversed: Hostilities, Abandonment, Fear
Element: Fire/Substance

You've had alchemists for the longest time and you've also had healing medicines of all sorts for almost just as long, but the selling and convenience attached to modern contemporary medicines had as of yet not made the leap forward.

Modernity and Urbanization however demanded it: Gorgons can at times have trouble getting all the necessary nutrients and vitamins they need within the city due to the difficult of carting fresh meats, fish, and so forth- often having to settle for Eggs, Insects, and chicken/banana rat making up a large portion of their diet.

This has been curbed though: Gorgon and Cyclopean Pharmacies have begun to sprout up that provide a number of convenient supplements, herbal remedies, and all manner of medicinal goods at an affordable cost: Calcium powders ground up from bones, dried insect protein powders, and some- well some just sell milk and eggs.

The cards already have 6 different ways to tell you, that you have women troubles

6th The Cosmic Serpent
As the Sun is to the Cyclops, the Cosmic Serpent is to the Gorgons. Foreign yet familiar, he forewarned complete strangers to the dangers ahead. He taught the cyclops much, and soon came to join the cyclops as the first of many who would become family. The cyclops will seem much and meet many. Some will come to be more than just friends or allies. The cyclops will soon learn that regardless of birth, many will be his family. It will be those that are close and kind, who help for the the sake of you as opposed to a reason. They will be those that remain with you through hard times and make you grow stronger, together.

Represents: Communal strength, Extended or adopted Family. Forewarning and Acceptance. The symbol of the Cosmic serpent and of the Dinosaur tribe.
Reversed: Bad Omens, Weakness, Discomfort, strangers, paranoia,
Element: Fire/Connection
7th The Blind Sage
Once the knowledge of the Cosmic serpent became apparent, the sages, ever the scholars wanted to learn more. One sage went as so far that he lost his life. But still the knowledge was preserved and passed down. Even with the risks involved the search for knowledge should not and will not end, but one should still not risk their lives foolishly however, for while the young Cyclops should seek out knowledge, what use is it if it is never passed along or shared?

Represents: Knowledge, learning, teachers, education, masters Sacrifice
Reversed: Losses, failure, darkness Sacrifice(In vain)
Element: Air/Connection

I'm glad I'm posting it here because it's making so much easier to catch those goddamn spelling and grammar errors

8th The Monolith
Even as the Cyclops explored the world around them, they did not forget their home or themselves. Upon their home they erected a Monument a great monolith of stone, a testament to the strength they possessed and a memorial to their history. The constructions showed the cyclops strength and improved it even as they worked. It runes and carvings sung the magic of the people and would hold their history for the ages. Even as the world around changed, the Monolith stood. Strong, unchanging and ever so softly singing the hymns of the past. A Cyclops should always remember himself even when he is far, remember his strength, his history, his people, and their songs.

Represents: History, introspection, strength, pride
Reversed: Arrogance, blindness, Overwhelmed, unforeseen consequences
Element: Air/Emotion

9th The Zizz
The Cyclops are not immune to failure however, even more so as filled with pride as they where. For there are some things even the strength of a cyclops cannot overcome. And the Zizz is one of them. For what man can hope to bring down the sky? For what woman can hope to tame the winds? The Zizz was not a beast, but a force of nature. A Cyclops can reach for greatness yes, but he must never step too far, that pride must be tempered by humility, or he will fall.

Represents: Humility, striving for greatness, Storms and showers, weather, Great challenges
Reversed: Downfall, overreaching, Natural disasters, “We Am Play Gods”
Element: Air/Substance

>Set up some cyclopes as street cleaners, to deal with thrown away clay and food refuse. Ensure they are respected properly.
>Roll 19/20
>Near complete and total success, +Cultural bonus

Some of the more derelict and close quartered portions of your Cities have become quite... Dirty- some of them are just downright absolutely FILTHY: Food waste is often at times simply thrown out into the streets for feral animals such as birds, pterodactls, peccaries, and Coatis to eat up and clean themselves and this is an obvious problem to more modernized people as it eventually leads into pests problems. If modern civilization though suffers from litter, so to does ancient civilization in the form of CLAY POTS.

Clay pots do not get recycled, there is always more clay and recycling clay pots can be at times.. dumb.. it's unfun, boring, and takes just a "bit more work" than simply making new ones, so you just throw them out. Clay pots are used to ship and move a number of products: Milk, Fats/oils, Dried goods, Salt, etc.. The "dry" pots get re-used, but the "wet" ones often get throw out to litter the shipyards and the streets.

These will always be problems, but you've made it just a little less worse: Street Cleaners and Recyclers. Cyclopes and a few Gorgons who go around with shovels and baskets while they clean up Food waste to be processed into compost or Recyclers who collect Shards and pieces of Clay pots to be ground up, watered, re-mixed, and turned into NEW clay pots that are just as good.

>+Accidentally invented Recycling
>Recycling isn't something that is considered when it comes to expendable products: Scrap metal is valuable, but Clay usually isn't. That doesn't mean, though; that an enterprising Cyclopes can make a few Ivory pieces by recycling them and selling his own clay pots: it's entirely an urban business fueled by garbage.

The title for that one is still mostly up for changes, it's supposed to be that one sage that was specifically describe to have died from what he saw, drop some ideas if you can

10th The Weeping Sage
All cyclops must value their life, treating it as the precious gift we all know it to be. He must preserve it not waste it foolishly. However there are times, when the unthinkable must be done. There are time when a cyclops can find a meaning and calling that he will value even more then his most precious gift. There maybe a time, when a cyclops may sacrifice his for a greater calling. Such as it was with the weeping sage, a man who had already given up his happiness in the pursuit of knowledge gave up so much more for all of our sakes. A sacrifice must never be taken lightly, and always remember to honor the life now lost.

Represents: Self-sacrifice, aid,
Reversed: Death, sadness, depression, waste of life
Element: Water/Mind
11th The Moon
While the future is always a mystery to us, the past itself can be muddled as well, a lesson learned once the elves were encountered in force. With them they brought a rock from the moon, a being we once pushed to the side. For early on there were some that worshipped the moon, by we dismissed her. But once we touch a part of her our bodies changed, and we saw our mistake. We persevered however, we accepted the changes and moved on, we did not dwell on our mistakes but corrected them, as do all Cyclops. Their body may change, and they will remember paths they did not takes, words they should not have said and much more, but they never dwell on it and never fear it.

Represents: Change (Physical), past revisited, lessons from mistakes, experience
Reversed: Regrets, sorrow, fear, disgust

12th Great Serpent Bridge
While many Cyclops mold their own destinies, the universe will always have a hand to play, the fortunes of day helping or hindering one for a life time. Such as with the Cyclops encountered the body of the World Snake. A meeting of pure chance that would become a blessing to all Cyclops of all lands for the foreseeable future.A time of great fortune for the Cyclops his body let the Cyclops grow and learn, and his body connected the scattered people as a grander community like never before. A Cyclops must always take a hold of life fortunes, and take advantage of every chance encounter, for no matter how well he molds his life he must always remember, he is not his only sculptor.

Represents: Random Events (good), Travel, Togetherness, Civilization, Community, Trade, Good fortune
Reversed: Random Events (bad), War, Separation, Distance, Trials and Travails, Broken Deals, misfortune
Element: Water/Connection

13th The Parrat
A rash decision, is a poor decision. Just as when the early Cyclops invested a different land with Parrats, with no regards to the consequences, and just as when we the later Cyclops attacked them with impunity, a rash decision always lead us to regret and often, embarrassment. A Cyclops may find himself pressured, and may need to make a choice quickly, but it must never be done rashly. However this is a lesson many learn from experience and not from wisdom. We thought we were acting quickly, when we attempted to make the Parrats smarter, but we were acting rashly. Their intelligence and mischievous nature lead us to anger time and time again, and in this anger we made a terrible choice.

Represents: Mischief, Luck (Bad or Good), Cleverness, embarrassment
Reversed: Anger, Mistake, Strife, Murder, Rashness

16th The Arcanum
It started with a simple goal. A house a learning, a house of books, a house for scholars and sages. And the Cyclopes met the call. The engineers drew plans grander than any before. The smiths forged new tools made for only a singular purpose. The masons moved and carved mountains into art. The laborers reshaped the earth to their will. And the sages called the elementals to heel. All to create The Arcanum, the house of magic and learning. The grand center of knowledge, sages and scholars. A Cyclops is greatest when they are with their fellows. A Cyclops is their community. As with what would have been merely a building if only a few had worked, became a creations of pure magic and song with the community, so can any goal a Cyclops sets be met and surpassed by the community.
Represents: Learning, Togetherness, Rewarded Effort, Advancement, Planned Goals, Civilization.

18th The Mycea
From slave to friend, from tool to person. From death to life, from living to dead. The cycle of rebirth is what Mycea stands for. At first a slave to elves, abandoned to her fate to die in a foreign land, a tool discarded once the job was completed, the Cyclops however could not stand to see her in pain. What was at first merely gifts of goodwill from the hearts of Cyclopes around her, eventually grew to an effort to change the very land around her, revitalize it so she may not suffer. For the Cyclops were not ones to abandon friends. From a dying waste to a fertile breadbasket the land was changed and reborn, as Mycea bounced back from the brink of death. And as the Cyclops did for Mycea the Cyclops should do for all, help strangers as you would friends, for goodwill shall always forge new bonds.
Represents: Rebirth, Goodwill, Love, Harvests, Nature, Plants, Ladylike behavior (at Mycea’s request)
Reversed: Decay, Abuse, Rot, Selfishness, Inappropriate Behavior (Faux Pas?)
Element: Earth/Substance

19th The Changeling

Upon each meeting a choice must be made. An open hand or a clenched fist. An open mind or a closed heart. To aim for friendship, or keep at length. A meeting will always present a choice. As with the Gorgons and With Mycea, the Cyclops had a choice with the Changelings. But never before was a choice so plain. Two hands were offered to the Cyclops. A hand of Bread and a hand of Sword, a hand of Peace and a hand of War. The Changelings, a stranger met like never before. No language to speak, no home to see, and to some no friendship to seek. But the Cyclops made their choice, with little hesitation we asked for bread. For friendship and trade. For diplomacy and partnership. As the Cyclopean people before have chosen, so must you make a choice. Life is full of crossroads, and decisions will always need to be made. Take to heart your choice and live with it well.
Represents: Choices, Decisions, Foreigners, Strangers, Diplomacy
Reversed: Conflict, Lost Opportunities, Lost Fortune, Misunderstandings

There was once a time where your people lived their lives completely naked, where clothing was something clingy, uncomfortable, scratchy, and odd-looking on the Cave-man Cyclopes.. Oh how times have changed: Leather and Wooden sandals, fine robes, dresses, skirts, and shawls made out of a variety of woven silks, plant fibrous materials- dyed and treated to fantastical and dazzling dyes of red, black, blue, and purple to catch the eye and make life truly fabulous.... Why, you even have underpants: Slings and Thongs made from 'gentle' and soft silks to hoist and support a man's loins or a woman's bosom!

Modernity however craves modern conveniences and at times even the simple agrarian folk grow tired of the robes, shawls, togas, and dresses they wear: They crave finer clothing, with straps and pockets and ties and fine furs and fantastic shoes and hats!

>+Fashion dramatically increased: City fashion, Rustic fashion, etc..
>There is now something of a distinction between City fashion, agrarian fashion, formal fashion and informal fashion. A Simple tunic, short skirt, and apron is fine for a worker in the field or a craftsmen at his home- but if he has to go to a sage council or pick up something from in town he'll wear a longer tunic, with brooches or buttons and perhaps a small shawl or dress complimented by a fur. Like wise; urban folks enjoy and cloth themselves in much richer and vibrant coloured dresses, skirts, and robes with greater investment in buttons, jewlery, accessories, and aren't afraid to wear a necklace of Ivory rings.

I think a good way to try and solve the malnourishment problem would be to make like the wild west and get huge herds of elephants or something down in the plains.

Also, refrigeration magic might help preserve meat longer to get it into the cities.

I just love how immediately after the prediction where we go to far and suffer population wise some one brings up true hybrids again

20th The Great Progenitor
The flesh of cyclops and mermaid. The ruler of the ocean’s deep, the bones of the world, the elder one. Our Father, Our Past. The Great Progenitor is the beginning of the Cyclopean People. He is the past that lurks behind the Cyclops, he is the memories that lurk in our mind’s depths. Inescapable, even defeated he is not gone. We are his progeny as are the children. But we will not be weighed down. The past shall never leave the Cyclops, but it shall never defeat us either. WIth each other, the community, our friends and our allies. We can overcome the past. The impossible shall be achieved. As all Cyclops had to face the Great Progenitor, every Cyclops shall have to face his past. We will all have regrets and mistakes that will follow us. But a Cyclops must not give in, a Cyclops must face the past and overcome it, as the Ancestors did before us.

Represents: Corrections, experience, gaining wisdom, completing the impossible.
Reversed: Pain, fear, Past Mistakes, inevitability, impossibility. A Return
Element: Mind

We'll have to tread carefully, yes, but I don't think it's inherently a bad thing.

Though, a gorgon being able to give birth to both cyclops and gorgons would be an adequate compromise.

So anyone have any specific questions for the Future? We already see how accurate the cards are

22nd The Red World
Something glanced, but never observed, a great question, that must never be answered. The Red World is the unknown to the Cyclops. It is known that addiction to mana can cause it, to burn a world red. It is known that it can be reached, and that its siren song calls to all who know of it. But it is not known how it came to be, it is not known how much mana will burn a world. It is the unknown threat, the unknown future. As the world avoids its red fellow, the Cyclops must avoid the dangerous we know to be harmful. Somethings are not meant to be studied, somethings are not meant to be tamed, somethings are meant to be left alone. For all the greatness of the Cyclops somethings are simply not meant to be.

>LUCKY DOUBLE 77 +Interesting Results, +Akalade, +Racial Bonus.

Akalade has slowly gotten back to his work, but his accident has left him a little jaded and more careful; the casual confidence of his movement is gone and his ears are constantly flicking back and forth like that of a deer's. The sage council greets him within the safety and comfort of his observatory before numerous graphs, diagrams, working equipment, the humongous telescope and the layered and shelved information and texts of numerous cultures and species.

"Ah, good, excellent, you're all here- Please give me a moment while I prepare the demonstration and we can begin the Cosmological presentation in full." Akalade snaps his fingers and calls out to his hired help: Three Changelings dressed in work shawls and a team of mobile and plant constructions wearing aprons.

"Please open the floor so our sponsors may see the diagram we've completed of our neighboring realms, thank you." The plants waddle off and the changelings are direct to the sides of the room where cranks have been installed, they begin turning them and the floor starts spreading open like a mechanical flower as a rotating, cylindrical, clock-work construction of Bronze and Iron slowly rises from the Flower.

Akalade gets out a long pointing stick and adjusts his gown, "This is a Cosmological Diagram of your homeworld; Brud or "Brund" as my people have called it- as you can see it is defined and made up by a large super continent divided by a southern and northern equator, with the south pole possessing a complimentary continent of it's own."

23rd The Hymn
From the first song of the world awakening to the chorus of life that resounds within each being, the hymn is the magic of all creation. The music of existence that that both brought all into being and was created by all. It is the cycle and connection of all that takes and gives power and being, never ending, unturned, crescendoing and diminuendo, pulsing and shifting. The language of existence, not a being without song it is the soul of creation. It is through the Hymn that Cyclops have mastered themselves. All souls call out to each other in a great web of song and sound, all elements, all things, are made up of connections that bind all things to one another. The Hymn is the answer for all problems, the song that links all beings and effects all things. As the Sea is the origin of all life, the Hymn is the result of all life and matter coexisting together. Nothing is untouched by the Hymn, and nothing fails to contribute to it. Once a Cyclops has mastered the Hymn he has mastered his life, his very being to its core.

Represents: All Things, The Web of Life, Hymn Magic, Song and Dance, Hope, Connections.
Reversed: Unanswered Prayers, Disconnection, Extinction, Silence.
Element: Connections

He slowly begins circling around the construction and pointing to key locations with the use of a stair-case and frame supported and built around the diagram for safety and convenience. "As you can see here, the north pole is located right at the center of our super continent and thus is the farthest spot away from the ocean; this has lead to the development of a fresh water ocean from the annual and massive run off and seasonal thawing of the polar caps. This however, creates a humongous "desert ring" around the farthest spots from both "oceans" where in harsh winds have beaten the land and created enormous sandy deserts and arid land-"

Akalade notice he seems to have lost his Cyclopean Audience and they quickly become distracted once his plant constructions finally arrive with the food and drinks, his face becomes a bit flushed and he slowly brushes the teal hair from his face before clearing his throat, "THIS." He points to a small, mechanical, kite-shaped bird slowly rotating around the globe. "Is the Zizz; a species of Gigafauna that resides within the stratosphere an annually comes down to feed, reproduce, and die- it is so large it's wings and body temperature create disturbances in weather patterns and environmental conditions." The Sages nod, in between eating and putting the plant constructions in their laps to pet them.

Akalade than walks further down onto the diagrams railing where he then snaps his fingers and his changeling assistance go to a lower section of cranks that raise a series of rings that freely rotate around the world. "These are the Elemental plains, alternate and ethereal dimensions or 'realms' that are produced by a worlds ambient naturally occurring background arcane radiation; Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and occasionally more esoteric realms such as Food or Mechanical depending on a Planets anthropological development.."

>>
>>38706916

The little elf finally ends on a very brief and obligatory report on the mundane and natural effects the Moon has on your world; tides, eclipses, shielding from meteors and asteroids, etc.. Your sage council however manages to catch the most important part of the speech, "of which I will be returning to at the end of this century with the assistance of the Young Foliatom" Foliatom quietly nods, he had actually residing in the back of the Sage council's small audience and no one had noticed him; quietly nibbling on a snack and having a glass of milk. He responds to his name behind called and slowly raises his hand to wave, but makes no further acknowledgement.

Your Sage council is now livid, there is no time for !Science! there is only time for !drama! They do not want Akalade to LEAVE, he is their friend- they are also embarrassed they did not acknowledge Foliatom, but he seems to be okay with that and any attempts to apologies seem to cause him embarrassment and bashful behavior as he slowly slinks off into the observatories library to be by himself.

Akalade motions for the metal construction to be put away and the Changeling hands slowly crank levers, spin gears, and have it lower back into the basement of the Observatory as the floor closes. Akalade's more casual diposition slowly resurfaces, "What are you talking about? You knew I had to go someday, right?" While grabbing a snack himself, and trying to discourage your Sages from treating his plant constructions like "pets"- he goes on to elaborate that as soon as he was done assisting you with the observatory and cosmological study, that he would return.

The observatory providing him with all the necessary resources to return.

>Create Mermen Access and "True" Fresh to salt water running irrigation channels for ease of transportation, fishing, and running water.
>Roll 13/20
>Above Average Success, +Racial bonus,

The Arcanum is well known for it's massive irrigation system and aquaducts; for fresh water, for fishing, for transportation, for channeling out waste, etc.. The City is kept honestly VERY clean and hydrated; but they can also be used for so much more.

The inland irrigation channels that provide water for crops act as a kind of aquaphonic system; they may be artificial in their construction, but they act as naturally occurring rivers complete with freshwater fish, mussels, and aquatic vegetation that not only significantly beautifies the city, but provides nutrients and water to all manner of life... They however can also be connected to the Ocean.

Merpeople do not like traveling through Freshwater; Freshwater is murky, cloudy, smells terrible, is filled with biting insects, and is generally a bad time... Luckily though they don't have to tolerate it for long:

>+Accidentally Advanced Canal Access achieved: Fresh to Saltwater Gondola public transportation
>For just a few ivory pieces or even some shells, corals, or a favor; any merperson, cyclopean, or gorgon coming inland may ride in style upon Canoes and large buoyant Gondola's paddled and making stops around the hot-spots of the arcanum: Markets, Trade-centers, Red-light districts, the Gorgon Ghetto, all of the most important sections connected by water.

>Develop "food markets"
>Roll 17/20
>Near complete success, -Mix race penalty.

You already have markets, but they're non-committed, chaotic, and usually a mix of all manner of businesses, vendors, services, and goods- people are perfectly content to just set up within the public squares and before you know a veritable tent city of stalls and merchants are hawking their various wears. This is all fine and dandy, but not everyone can wait the equivalent of every Cyclopean "weekend" to go pick up Groceries- and they shouldn't have to shift through a horde of unrelated businesses and vendor stalls to just pick up some Chicken, Cashews, and Curry powder.

>+Economical and Cultural Development: Food Markets invented: Butcher, Baker, Grocer, Dairy Shop.
>Not quite a restaurant, but better than a vendor stall- A Food Market or Food store comes in a wide variety of flavors and services that provide committed and reliable private store fronts where people urban peoples can purchase groceries on a daily basis. Butchers are established (and extremely popular in the Gorgon Districts and Ghettos) as well as Bakers, Grocers, and even Dairy shops that sell fresh milk daily, butter, cream, and have begun to very rarely sell imported"Cheese".

The Market district within your Cities and the Arcanum is now equipped with "Food shops"; this might seem like a no-brainer, but it's a very mundane and revolutionary step towards modern conveniences and sensibilities: normal people don't have to sift through a million stalls or establishments, they can just easily pick, find, and shop at reliable and permanent establishments. It is also more cost effective, produces less waste, and allows people to eat at home more often within the city.

>Roman style cranes.
>Roll 90/100
>High-end Success, +Racial Bonus

>BRANCHING DEVELOPMENT: Ancient Industry, Ancient Technology.

You've had some mixed concepts on ropes, pulleys, wheels, and so forth, but lets be realistic: Your physical strength and prowess with magic has made your civilization a little "lazy". These modern times of convenience and luxury are often the most prone to stagnation and slow progress... Though, with that said, sometimes something comes a long every once in a blue moon that can truly change everything.

>+Technological Development: Levers, Pullies, Wheels, Harnesses, Cranes, etc..
Why do all the hard work when magic can do it for you- Some might say. Well, further more; Why do hard magical work when TECHNOLOGY can do EVERYTHING for you? Pullies and levers, wheels, harnessess, advanced techniques and creations of mechanical and simple expertise that alleviate and take advantage of physical forces using easy to understand forces and physic principles that are elementary to your people, but had never been applied.

>+Cranes invented: Stationary, Mobile, Dock, etc..
>Cranes are a mechanical contraption; powdered by a large wheel that is turned and run by an individual or teams of individuals that turns and pulls on ropes to assist in the lifting and heaving of much larger objects: Ship-building, Mining, House-building, etc..

>+"Mill" invented: Tidal, Water, and Wind.
>All it takes is a wheel being turned by a constant moving force to provide an endless supply of physical energy to be used for a number of things: Grinding flour, Printing wood-prints, processing wood or metal or assisting in the forging of metals using automated hammers for forging. "Mills" are typically constructed using Waterwheels; wheels installed in canals, rivers, or oceans where the tide or flow powers them. Agrarian mills however are typically powered by WIND through the use of long, skinny, horizontal or vertical "fans"

((These were some of the first rolls, but I'm going to level with you: They're not entirely.. practical? or beneficial? At this moment?))

((Like, just to save everyone time: Voodoo and Shaminism are a little primitive compared to our current level of technology and awareness of cosmology and natural forces.....))

((so, I'm sorry for ignoring it, but it isn't currently practical and there's no cultural need/desire for it: It's literally being pulled out of nowhere and we've already been through a similar shinto-like shamanistic stage that we've slowly begun to grow out of,))

The meat problem is something a lot of people have been milling over or at the very least talking about casually over dinners, at bars, and at other various public establishments: The price of it that is. The price of meat has dramatically increased in modern times: it wasn't too long ago that you could pick up a fresh slab of Triceratops meat or even save a few ivory rings to TRULY splurge on some Sauropod or Hadrosaur which are generally regarded as having the most delicious and savory of cuts.
This isn't possible anymore: Dinosaur meat's price has skyrocketed and most people can only afford chicken, rat, peccary, or the occasional garbage plethora of garbage cuts from tired, old, sauropods.... The public response though has been one of self control: Fish and "Local" meats remain inexpensive, eggs remain dirt cheap, and the price and availability of shellfish has dramatically increased with Merfolk trade- few people can say no to the 5ft long shrimp they bring up from the depths to trade.
People are considering less lavish food choices; saving steaks and fine cuts of meat for weekends or special occassions while they tide themselves over on acceptable substitutes or alternatives.

>COMPLIMENTARY ROLL BONUS
>Meat Processing
>Roll 72/100
>Above Average Success.

With butchers already in place and the demand for meat always increasing a long with the cost; your people have had to get creative in how they're going to pinch and use every last scrap of meat.

>+Meat Processing invented: Sausages, Cold-cuts/deli-meats, Ground "Dinosaur".
>Your people are not about to eat the garbage meat; they have standards and it tastes fucking awful, but they are about to get innovative: cured meats originally meant as provisions can be spiced and further treated to create fantastic deli-meats. Garbage meat can be grounded up, processed, and seasoned to perfection before it's wrapped in an organ casing and smoked to create delectable sausages. Dinosaur meat though is the trickiest; the cheapest cuts are often from the oldest, toughest, worked dinosaurs.. Their meat however can be grounded up, spiced, and added to curries, stews or served ontop of Flatbreads.

All these cullinary delights are quite exclusive to your civilization at the moment: Gorgons within their own society swallow a lot of their food whole and don't give much thought into preparation and Merpeople like wise don't need to cook their food- capable of eating it raw. Changelings DO cook their food, but they're so far off; the tastes are foreign and out of mind.

These new innovations in Meat, Cooking, and Dining are a humongous and warm welcome to society.
Even Akalade is relieved, "Finally- It's been almost a thousand years; I can finally have a meatball sandwich again!"

>Action: Send heroes down south to attempt an exploration/settlement of the now De-Thawing southern continent.
>Roll 17/20
>High End Success.

Your people are honestly quite surprised by the dramatic changes that have occurred in the south and the visible changes to the Southerners themselves: Summer has finally arrived on the southern continent and it has been heralded by Dragons.

Their population has dramatically increased and they've developed their own cities, townships, possessing a population size that is almost TWICE as large as your own completely comprised of Cyclopes and Cyclopes only: your quick to notice however that they've really begun to revitalize their agrarian sector and you take this opportunity to document it:

>+Southern Crops "observed": Green Vegetables and Berries.
>The Southern Continent hosts a number of green vegetables including Liverworts, edible ferns, and a crisp and delicious cucumber-like plant. Fruit though refuses to grow in the South, but they make up for it in BERRIES- they seem to grow a number and variety of Berry bushes that produce a number of red and blue very tart but sweet berries.... You've never thought of it before, but the South does indeed have Pies and Tarts.

>+Southern Livestock "observed": Birds, nothing but birds.
>The Southern continent currently herds and raises only two noticeable species of livestock: A humongous 6ft tall species of goose and some unusual bird-like, hooved, flightless creature called a "Hippogriff". Your Heroes have tasted and sampled both animals as well as their eggs and they've come to the conclusion that both are QUITE delicious-specifically the Hippogriff which possess some of the finest leg meat they've ever enjoyed.... They also appear to have a fat, innocent, and goofy looking bird- with a large pronounced beak they call a "Dodo". They do not eat it as it tastes apparently awful, but they did occasionally harvest them for their feathers.
>>
>>38710576
>possessing a population size that is almost TWICE as large as your own completely comprised of Cyclopes and Cyclopes only:

>Find a good use for electrum.
>High End Success. +Changeling Influences, +Akalade's assistance.

Electrum is something you've known about for quite a long time now; it was used by the Gorgons during their pre-elven civilization for the use of complex ritual and magical practices to make up for lack of magical knowledge.... but that's about it. Today it isn't used for much except for being chemically separated so that the precious Gold can be collected from it and the useless silver discarded or used in trinkets.

Some of your Sages and Arcanists are curious though; curious about it's potential Arcane or even industrial uses and so they go to the one they know has the most experience with such things: Akalade.

Bringing a few samples, they present it to him within his observatory and he immedietly recognizes it, "Oh, Oh! This is Electrum, where did you find this? This is honestly quite useful for Arcane construction as well as advanced and sophisticated wiring.. though, I'm afraid it's a little beyond anyone around here.. One moment." Akalade wanders off to the compiled reference, texts, and schematics he's collected and imported from his various connections on this world before he draws out an obscure and foreign book. "Listen, this will take a bit of time, but I'll call in a Machinist from the Northern Hemisphere."

And with that, your sages completely forget about the favor until they idly return half a year later on a completely unrelated errand, "Oh, good, you're back! You're just in time! I've finally summoned the Machinists" Akalade presents you with a team of small squat hood wearing bird people. You immediately recognize them as the fabled "Kenku", except for two.

Two of them are Parrats. Parrats in small hoods, cloaks, wearing tiny shoes, with their macaw shaped beaks and unmistakable lizard-like tails sticking out of their clothes- carrying themselves with the posture and disposition of dignified beings.

One of the Kenku extends his small, clawed, and black scaled covered hands to greet one of your sages, "Greetings, one-eyed men of the south. We're representatives and Birds of Science from the University of Alaia just up north. We were told you've got yourself an excess of electrum and a shortage of personal projects to use it for."

The Kenku lets out a weird, undignified, loud, "CAW" before his entourage of fellow Kenku and Parrats shuffle back and forth to unload out several large chests. "Akalade however has not guaranteed this Electrum, he has only simply made us aware of it's presence: We are prepared to offer you exclusive foreign exchange for your Electrum- it's quite a hot item up in the north you see."

He extends his clawed foot forward and opens up the Chests to reveal a plethora of gold, bronze and copper coins all neatly and meticulously stacked and organized to assist in their counting and genuinity. "We are prepared to over you a vast sum of wealth for this trade agreement.." The Kenku notices your sages eyeing the Parrats.

The Professor tilts his head back and forth before cawing once more, "Aahhh! I see you've got an 'eye' for Detail CAW, CAW, CAW. Those are my Slaves! I see you've taken a liking to them; we can throw them into the deal as well or perhaps establish some trade agreement!" He snaps his claw and the other Kenku push the Two parrats forward as they man-handle them to display their physical features, health, and unstained plumage.

"Yes, there's plenty more where all of this has come from: Coin, Slaves, we could also take requests or perhaps you'd like to peruse our catalogs or stocks?"

This is a Trade offer/opportunity, so make your demands and rolls now.
Keep in mind: Asking questions costs nothing, but haggling does.

We have other routes open to us.

Big thing though.

They don't learn how to use hymnal magic.

That's ours, and ours alone.
>>

supporting, im curious how many parrats are still living
>>
>>38711950
Caution my friend. Remember, we are still a tiny power. A handful of cities. Not a full fledged power on our own.

Remember, the Changelings spanned the world once, and they considered the Kenku to be their equals in power.

Even if they're not united, they probably have more overall resources to crush us by sheer attrition, especially if they can call upon magics equal to our own. Especially when considering that Cyclops are -not- warlike by nature.

Hell, we're not even MEAN by nature.

If they start enslaving -our- folks then we have problems and that'll stir the blood enough.

Otherwise we go underground railroad method on this.

Also, consider, the Parrats literally may not be sapient enough to operate as anything but slaves right now.

Would it be right to take them from a greek-slave situation? Where they have basic garunteed rights? And dump them into a situation where their freedom basically means that they can no longer survive because they don't have a full handler/caretaker anymore?

We need more information.
>>
>>38712030
I think the best solution would be to outright buy them all.

Go full merchant for a bit, gather up a shit ton of gold, and then free the parrats. Put them into education camps and teach them to fend for themselves, as well as cyclops history and culture.

Best way to redeem ourselves.

>Ask about the Parrat
"Ahhh, you want to know about this Creature? We call them Kobolds; they're a bit ugly, primitive, but they're a simple enough, easy to distract, and make excellent hired hands. We don't personally produce them- we have them imported by Changeling... "Sailors".. who just scoop them up on the various scattered islands just around the Equator. Very cost effective and they don't eat much."

>Could we talk to the Parrats?
The Parrats do not appear to be very talkative, they hide underneath their hoods and avoid eye contact until you explicitly state you wish to talk to them. The Kenku in charge nods and clacks his beak before the Parrat lowers his hood and speaks, "Greetings, Giant Master, if you seek to purchase me- I promise that I will deliver the utmost quality in service: I am literate, can cook, clean, am familiar with basic machine maintenance and fluent in both Changeling Common and three Kenku languages."
The Other parrats do not seem as eager to talk and the Kenku are hesitant to show them, "Don't mind them- they're just the hired help, they're more of a discounted product.. Zizz knows, not worth their weight in even copper let alone Electrum." He shows you, though their quality; They're visibly missing much facial plumage and they have a stern, tired, look in their black expressive eyes.

>...what's in their stocks and catalogues?
The Kenku get's quite excited to show you his various wears and he orders his Birds to pull out the Catalog. "Ah, yes, Yes! By all means take your time! Please, let me know if anything catches your... 'eye', CAW, CAW, CAW!" The Catalog displays the following goods: Copper, Bronze, Fertalizer, and various other alchemical reagents you don't recognize including Black powder. It does however also list various weapons, armours, and other specific tools and armaments including something called a "Firelance" you can order en masse or commission.

>"Exotic" goods
Slaves (Trolls, Parrats), Exotic Animals (Ape, Hog-Ape, Unicorn, Iridescent Deer, etc..), Clockwork Toys, etc..

The Kenku in charge is embarrassed to admit that he did not anticipate your civilization to be so invested in physical goods vs Money; in hind sight he should have expected it, but old habits die hard and it seems like forever that they've only had to deal with the Changelings "Gold standard". They find your enthusiasm and interest in physical goods very refreshing.

I don't think you guys quite get how monstrous what we did is.

We created a new species, that had no gods. That had not fought it's way towards sapience by natural selection, and then we exterminated the local variety, but the spell we cast must have worked upon ALL the Parrats -everywhere-.

Which made them into a small, easily enslaved species that had no divine patron or help understanding what had just been dumped on them.

That's way worse than just killing off the local population.

Remember, each turn that passes is measured in YEARS. Each session spans about a century unless specified otherwise.

We created an intelligent race with no defenses, and they were probably enslaved almost immediately.

And they have spent the last few centuries, maybe millennia, wondering what the FUCK happened to them and who played this cosmic joke on them.

Turned them from animals into people without giving them the guidance and knowledge or protection the entities WHO NORMALLY DO THIS KINDA OF SHIT (AKA: Gods) would give them, then allow them to suffer so.

>Establish Electrum trade with the compromised agreement on Slavery.

>HOT DUBS 99'S. -This is the real world.

Akalade is there acting as the Translator as well as a few Changelings and you express to them your distaste with the handling and concept of "slavery"; you don't like "beings" being bought and sold and this conflicts heavily with your civilizations decencies and sensibilities. Your are prepared to offer the Kenku as much Electrum as you can harvest and prospect, but you do not wish to associate with slavers.

The Kenku is told this, he knods, he knods some more, and then clacks his beak together before muttering to his assistance and drawing forth papers that he signs and has the Parrats signed before their hoods are taken off and an ankle ringlet is unlocked and removed from all of them. The Kenku places the papers and the anklets on the table, "We will respect your cultural practices, and by all means: if you are true to your word it we will be able to completely circumvent the need for slaves.. but the world is much larger than us Kenku standing here before you. We cannot promise an end to slavery, but we can at least garauntee you that all trading partners you interact with do not associate or make business with Slaves."

The Kenku also bring out their Blackpowder equipment and merchandise: A Firelance, which seems to be some kind of metal "pot" on the end of a wooden handle, the pot is covered in cloth and there seems to be a small hole which blackpowder is placed into; this powder is lit with match, whick, or burning ember and the lance fires out a small iron pellet or multiple pellets. They also have with them Bombs; Small, balls of Iron or Rock encased around a core of blackpowder fed by a whick dipped in a blackpowder wax mixture- lit it, throw it, it explodes.

You Agree to the following:
>Electrum FOR Corn, Wheat, Barley, and Blackpowder weapons.
>They give you one chest of Gold, copper, and bronze coins out of good will.
>>
>>38713060
Oh...so we might have made some Gods mad with something like giving forbidden fruit to an innocent creature?
>>
>>38713213
Wonder what they need all that electrum for? And how is a primitive gun better than our bells?
>>
>>38713265
I think it goes more along the lines of the gods don't give a fuck, if they did they'd probably have done something for the Parrats.

I think it goes more into "The Parrats as a species are really -really- fucking angry with us if they ever find out we did this to them"

>>38713295
Figuring out how to neutralize it with bells would be step one wouldn't it?

Also not everyone can use the bells.
>>
>>38713213
So did we get any parrats from this deal or no? Not as slaves... but as freed citizens.

I want to nurture these creatures. Desperately.
>>
>>38713315
Ah, we might want to tell them anyway.....gently, so they would be less confused of their existence. After all, being given high-awareness suddenly can be a lot to handle.
>>
>>38713383
They've had at least as many generations as we've had threads to contemplate their sudden high-awareness.

They no doubt have come to terms with that.

No, it's more the having it shoved on them then finding out that we didn't even fucking try to care for the ones closest to us.

For god's sake, we basically tried to eradicate our 'mistake' instead of taking on the role of a parent as the gods do.

This is going to go south -fast-.

We get the slaves we can.
>>
>>38713383
We should probably ask them questions about their culture first. They may already know what we did.
>>
The less talkative Parrats are a showing classic sign of stress in normal parrots, feather loss and plucking
>>

>>38713439
True, we might need to discuss this next thread, this topic is pretty big.
>>

We did try to help them. But they keep shitting on our open hand. Nothing can be done for them now. As for these parrats we could outlaw slavery in out lands.

>Immediate Epilogue on this deal:

The Parrats are.. "Thankful" in their own way for you freeing them, which in fact turned out that the Kenku and his team had a quite a number of them: 35 in fact. That did everything from cook, clean, maintain equipment, and some were even actual mercenaries or purchased "swords". But in all practicality; they are not going to abandon the only way they know how to live.

A quarter of them excuse themselves and make the journey to the nearest changeling maritime trading city to catch the quickest boat to return to their northern, jungle, island communities.. the ones they had been plucked off from.
Most of them however stay with the Kenku; they resign themselves to non-enslaved and clearly defined termed contracts and continue their terms of service.. much the same way they had before only now with pay and the legal freedom to quit if they have to.

An even smaller portion of them simply stand there before they turn around and walk away; unresponsive, they just keep walking until they drift off aimlessly into the distance.

The Kenku watches this and notices your people's confusion, "There's something a bit off about them, you know? As if there was something missing in their heads- they can imitate being a civilized person well enough, but there's just something empty inside of them."
>>
>>38713547
Arguably, they didn't know any better. I mean seriously. It was like expecting BABIES to understand what we were doing.

>EVENT TIME
>Akalade's going away party.

Akalade's work seems to have taken it's final steps forward and with the trade agreements keeping you in the area your people have been able to keep their "eyes" on the little Elf as he busies himself for his departure. You see him; running too and from the observatory, to his greenhouse, and back again while he's accompanied by a team of changeling assistance and technicians.
It's been a very short century, but Akalade's finished work is something to behold: a completely stocked observatory at your civilizations finger-tips complete with an assortment of extensive translated knowledge, information, machines all cataloged from every corner of the world he had been assigned to and all the same; used to advance his own goals as well.

The Sage council comes to check up on the little elf and they catch him in his greenhouse- he immediately runs out, "No- no,nononono, that's fine, that's fine- don't touch anything- I'm coming, I'm coming!!" You've never seen Akalade run so fast.

He's a little dirty and he spends a brief moment fixing his air and the Sages can't help but whip the dirt from his face, "Yes- no, come on, thank you.. I've cultivated the necessary equipment to return home to the moon.. I'll be able to return home shortly and without delay, that is unless you require my further assistance on anything?"

Your sages insist that they need Akalade's assistance in partying.
>>38707413
Akalade thinks he can help with that.

The entire event is anything but discreet and honestly takes an entire year: Akalade is guided and spends an absolutely baller-ass times touring your entire civilization:

His first stop is the Grove of Mycea where he takes in some of the best food an drink the breadbasket has to offer; he feasts on such a variety of mushrooms that he swears he'd become a mushroom himself if he eats anymore.. and then he eats a little more. He's bedded on the finest and sauciest Manticore tribeswomen the local establishements have to offer and redefines new and creative kinks he never imagined he had.. and finally says his goodybyes to Mycea.

Mycea is lounging within her personal quarters, accompanied by the large and growing party of Cyclopean revelers who are joining Akalade on his "going home tour". Mycea sits up for the moment, "Are you.. sure you want to do this?" She seems a little awkward, her questionable past not very distant in her immortal memory. "You could just stay, you know.. I could see about setting something up for you- we could have a talk with her-" Akalade cuts her off, "No, no, it's fine. I've made up my mind and I've had a great time here, but what I know is too important to give up." Mycea lets out a small air-sucking "tsk" before she motions your Sages to give Akalade the "pod".

"Take it, with my blessing. Your people don't deserve it, but you're a good boy. I'm sorry, you deserve better- I wish you didn't have to go, but if you've already made up your mind than I suppose there's little I can do to convince your otherwise."

Akalade takes it and your next stop is Gorgon Country and a visit to the Hydra Mother.

The Hydra Mother is shows an almost uncharacteristic amount of hospitality and honestly it's comforting given your people haven't had the pleasure of entering so formally her city in quite some time, it's nice to see what's changed:

The Streets are alive with mild to wild celebration and it seems at any given moment Akalade is followed by one to a dozen Hydra Maidens to make sure he's having an absolutely exquisite time: He's gambled, He's wined, He goes to fine Gorgon Theater, He takes in Gorgon Beetle-battles, and takes in all venues of Gorgon Entertainment and hospitality... with exception to the food. Gorgon food is honestly terrible if you're not a Gorgon.

Finally, he spends some time drinking and discussing things with the Hydra Mother, "I assume Mycea tried to stop you, correct?" Akalade nods, "Yes, she feels as though they don't deserve to be saved and I honestly don't blame her, but you know how it is." The Hydra mother lets out a deep, long, cackle and her dozens of breasts bounce in time. "Ohhh.. It satisfies me beyond belief to finally see her be a little spiteful" She lets out a long sigh that turns back into a laugh and a brief hiss, "Makes her a little more "organic", but I digress; she is right in a way. They won't appreciate what you've given them.. I doubt even you will be appreciated like you are on this world."

Akalade excuses himself, "I Know, I'm not doing it for myself." Several Maidens stop him, "No, here, come on- I've got a gift for you to.. get the, no not that, get the Eggs." He's handed a large formation of amber-like material containing dozens of eggs. "Here, Mycea's pod only has insects, plants, and microbes- crack this open when you get home if you want something with a little more MEAT."
>>
>>38714643

Akalade's final destination is the Arcanum itself.
This isn't a "party, party" trip for Akalade, this is a memory one; the party party quickly disperses and Akalade is left to wander the City he had once called home not too long ago.

Akalade spends some time hitting up the various restaurants he once enjoyed in hopes of maybe spotting the few ones that have been inherited or lasted long enough for his return; only 3 remained, and one had been gutted and turned into more of a pub, but they still served the same curry, so not a total loss.
Akalade spends a long time though just going through the various motions he had gone through when he was dating, when he had that adopted family- he even spent a bit of time catching up with the few ones that remembered him; Cyclopes live for about 150 or so years, but even then it's like making friends and family with people who regularly die when they're still just a "teenager".

Akalade's final spot to visit is his old apartment; which hasn't been touched and has been left to grow into a small, private, thicket of mixed vegetative growth: He wades through it, cuts and grooms it down a little until he walks out wearing his old suit.

The little suited elf than catches the first boat back to the mainland jungle community so he can return as quickly as possible to the Arcanum and for his destiny that awaits him within his greenhouse.

The little elf arrives back at his Glass-domed Greenhouse and is welcomed by a large entourage of the Sage council; they've got an assortment of presents, trinkets, and goodies of all kinds for Akalade to bring with him as he's sent back home to the Moon.

There is an overwhelming feeling of excitement and anticipation, but some of the sages can't help but notice that Akalade's mood doesn't match their own, but is one of determination, duty, and resignation.. something is.. something is "off".

You follow Akalade into his greenhouse and actually, truly, venture into the humid and stuffy temperature and environmental controlled structure for the first time: Akalade signs and distributes the last pay cheques his changelings will ever receives and hands them off a tidy sum of gold coins and ivory rings for all their hard work.

He then extends his hands and two Cyclopes quickly grasp them as he walks your group over to what will take him home: It is a large, rotund, pulsing, fuming, "blossom"; tightly closed, with pulsing roots feeding into the ground and a visible permeable membrane that is a perfect size for Akalade to fit.

The Cyclopes feel the grip of Akalade's hands tighten within their own; giving their fingers a big squeeze before he walks forward, "I'm sorry, but I won't be able to take your gifts with me; only memories where I'm going.. The Pod though and the Encased Eggs are sturdy enough though to survive the trip and will be sent manually.."

Akalade slowly slides into his suit, but leaves the visor down as it wraps and memorizes his form; he seems hesitant now, in his final moments, "I.. don't know what will happen when I return: they may just take what they need and let me sit in storage for eternity, I might be forgotten in bureaucracy, I may be re-purposed, reconstituted, and used to make several hundred other elves that look just like me and sent to countless other worlds if they're not satisfied with my work.. or even if they are.."

His composure goes back to much how you originally found him; gasping, choked up, teary eyed, and his nose running, but not because he's adapting to your world, but he cause he had adapted to it.
Akalade is sad.

"When I originally came here I thought you were all stupid and primitive: you lived primitive lives with no pre-defined purposes, everything was magic and mysticism with you, you worshiped animals, computers, unaware of how the world actually worked or with any care or sophistication.." Akalade starts hiccuping "Even your physical forms; you're all just weird, primitive, animals bumbling around throughout life not knowing any better... BUT MAYBE IT'S ME. MAYBE I DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER."

Akalade at this point is crying. He falls onto his hands and knees and he Cries.
Akalade doesn't want to go back.
Akalade is scared to go back because he knows he is expendable: Akalade is not an actual name; it his a mispronunciation of his serial number.
Akalade was made and cultivated for the specific purpose. He is just a Construction that has had time to age and apply a false sense of self-worth to himself.
Elves aren't immortal.
Akalade is immortal. Akalade is immortal because he's artificial.

This makes Akalade very sad.
He's choking on his words, "When I step in there, I'll be turned back into a solution- and then evaporated and my information and memories transmuted and converted into transmittable psychic data through that PLANT." He's laughing, looking up at you- The Sages who have no idea whats going on and only understand Akalade is crying.

"Back to Goop, do you understand? My name isn't AKALADE, that's just you pronouncing my SERIAL NUMBER. YOU IDIOTS. I'M GOOP. I'M NOT A PERSON. I DIDN'T WANT TO BE A PERSON. WHY DID YOU MAKE ME WANT TO BE A PERSON?"
Akalade shrivels up into himself, he's having a really conflicting time.

>>
>>38715454

Suddenly a lot of things start making sense that your people had been conveniently over looking before:
The Gorgons never did recognize or otherwise acknowledge any kind of familiarity with how Akalade looked. He was never recognized as one, you just sort of... "jumped to that conclusion".
Realistically speaking: Mycea could and would have probably hunted down and killed Akalade apart at any given moment if he was in fact an Elf, but he's not an Elf. Akalade is just another construction of the Elves. Sympathy, you Wonder?
Also, for the longest time: Akalade doesn't seem to be very aware or explicitly knowledgeable about the Elves who had dissapeared from your world, which would make sense since he realistically had probably been MADE only after their disappearance... maybe because they deemed this world too dangerous?

Your Cyclopes don't have much time to wonder though or play detective as Foliatom has been watching the entire time.. not entirely, he seems to have been collecting the parrats and only has caught your reunion in the middle.

He speaks, "O-oh.. was that today?" He sets down the parrats he's collected and they wander off. "Is the outsider leaving?"
He slowly walks over, his tendrils of hair have grown long and they obscure his face. He quietly gets down on his knees before Akalade and the small elven construction gains some composure.

He stands up and begins tying and brushing Foliatom's tendrils back, "Yes.. that was today, I'll be leaving today." A long, drawn out sigh escapes Akalade "You don't want to go though, do you, outsider?" Akalade shakes his head and they hold one another.
Akalade fakes a stern upper-lip.
Akalade won't cry infront of the child.

>Foliatom: Trouble Child & Youth Demi-god of "outsiders", dreams, and misery.... doesn't want Akalade to leave either.

>If you want Akalade to stay, you're going to have to roll for some Idea.

Honestly I'd feel bad about sending the clone up in his place, it'd have his memories and feelings too.

This is gonna be messy but inquire if they could do with only a portion of him.

Like say, an arm or a leg. Mycea can personally heal him to regrow his arm. She's a responsible big sister

I wonder if we could get good enough at cloning Akalade that reproduction by budding is feasible.

I don't want Akalade to die without kids.

And with all that said; lets end this.
>Not all of Akalade needs to be "sent"
>Roll 84/100

Akalade grossly underestimates your peoples ability to problem solve and they scoop him up and start carrying him off, "W-wait, what? What are you doing?" You explain to him your plan:
You're going to send him to Mycea. Mycea is going to collect a "piece" of you and then she is going to make you all better. You tell him you're family, you don't need a name, you tell him a bunch of inspirational cowboy speeches- one cyclopes in the back also confirms that you are also a lover as he can attest to the quality of your bum.
There is much vigor and charisma now that OPERATION FAKALADE IS GO: >>38716091

Mycea is surprised to see Akalade back so soon and with an entourage of Cyclopes yet again.. and even Foliatom is there! "My word, what has gotten into all of your Children? Akalade, what are you up-" Your Cyclopes cut of Mycea as politely as Cyclopean possible and educated her on your devious plan. Mycea becomes progressively more and more elated as a devious smile stretches across her face, "Oooohhh, that will show them, won't it? That'll really stick it to them; oh my goodness, that is brilliant. Lets do it, right now. Akalade sweety; we're gonna have to take the arm.. And Foliatom, can I count on your assistance for this, darling?"

The Sage council patiently waits while Doctor Mycea and nurse Foliatom work their magic and what seems like days, they finally open up their personal quarter and quietly escort out a tired and hungry looking Akalade in a cute little medical robe made out of a thin plant membrane. Foliatom is holding some kind of.. green lump encased in mucous that he hands to your sages. "Put this into the plant, just.. just sort of squish it into there.. It won't know the difference.." They give you back Akalade and tell him to get him rehydrated and well fed since growing back arms is hungry work.

>So A New Struggle or hardship, Mothers/ fertility or mother ideals, Community, foreboding future and Downfall, overreaching, Natural disasters, “We Am Play Gods”

>Fuck we gain a new research or idea, but in the process hit some knowledge we shouldn't push it too far and our population growth suffers for it

I think I misread these cards The Hardship was Akalade's struggle, the hydramother was Love, our love for community/family(Akalade) The forbidden knowledge was what he really was, a construct and we had to hurt him to fix this
>>
>>38716239
>Doctor Mycea and nurse Foliatom
Oh my, someone needs to draw them in outfits.

Also, we shouldn't forget to send the pod and eggs as well.

>*the quality of Akalade's bum.
The last thing they ask of Mycea -which they're careful to do so long after Akalade has made his leave for dinner- is to enquire about reproducing or cloning Akalade. Mycea seems a little confused at first, but she quickly understands your sentiment.

"Akalade is honestly quite easy to reconstruct, fix, reconstitute, and reassemble- I found that out when we were healing him, to be honest. If you wanted to make a clone of him that wouldn't be a problem, but a clone of Akalade wouldn't be a "copy" or "another akalade" it would be an entirely different person, you know this; right? They'd be more like.. Twins, I guess.. and we wouldn't have to cut him to do it: we can just make more from any piece of him: hair, nails, eyelashes, etc.. " Mycea grasps firmly onto the arm of one of your Sages, "Just a Disclaimer; I can't.. I can't fix you guys, do you understand? If you die or get cut in half or injured like how Akalade did. You will die. Akalade can be put back together again and even that was quite difficult."

With that warning in their minds; the Sage council is quick to return back to that foreboding blossom with the glob in hand and Akalade in the audience to instruct the proper procedures: The Amber-encased eggs are placed within the permeable mucous membrane, as is the pod, and then finally the Green-glob the two Demi-gods had constructed for you.

"Now, we wait; it should take just a moment, but-" Akalade remembers he forgot to retract the roof on the Greenhouse and makes a mad dash for the controls at the side before the plant begins to wobble, gyrate, shack, and thunder with internal biological mechanization. The Mucous membrane hardens and seals, the entire growth tightens, and it's roots begin extending and acting as legs to "prop" it up- it wobbles and coordinates itself towards the direction of the moon.

Before..It..just sort of fumes and an almost intangible beam of.. 'light'? is spat out from it? Your Cyclopes are confused, they were expecting some kind of noise or laser beam or something more climatic.

But nope, that's it: It lets off steam that humidifies the green house something fierce and Akalade is just left here with a mixed look of relief and sadness.

"Well... that's it I guess. I don't think any of us were expecting this, but I guess I'm.. just sort of useless now.."

Akalade is cut off as the plant starts to contort on itself, ventricles flexing, and the "petals" of the folded blossum start straining on one another before they violently eject the Seed pod and then finally flexes back into itself to fire another round of the encased eggs- like plant artillery fire aimed straight at the moon. The force and kick-back of the plant creates a loud BOOM and plum of visibly vapor as it knocks everyone to the ground.

Akalade apologizes once everyone gets back onto their feet, "As.. as I was saying: I'm useless now, but.. I don't mind finding a new purpose and perimeters if it's with you.. I have my whole life ahead of me to find new meaning- as long as it's with you guys."

>>
>>38716471
Thanks for running, this has been one heck of a wild ride. Could we ask Akelaide what life on the moon was like? What sort of technology and society the elves of the moon have, and the quality of their meatball sandwiches?
>>
>>38716587
>You sticking around to answer questions?

Yep, I'll be sticking around for just a bit to answer any non-spoilery questions you guys might have.
>>
>>38716638
Can Akalade reproduce with anything? I'm not just talking inter-species here.
>>
>>38716638
Why do you like toying with our emotions?
>>
>>38716638
Do cyclopes have Spindles?
>>
>>38716638
So, are the parrats foliatom apparently rounded up part of our "Population" now?

How many did he round up? (Is foliatom connected to them somehow?)
>>
>>38716652
>Can Akalade reproduce with anything? I'm not just talking inter-species here.

No. Akalade may be a biological construction, but he's sterile/infertile as a "design" feature...he still has the equipment though.

>>38716653
>Why do you like toying with our emotions?

I actually get pretty emotional too, it's not just you guys.
Also it's good story telling; getting invested in characters and what not.

>>38716665
>Do cyclopes have Spindles?
Cyclopes have looms since all they've ever worked with is silk and Spindles are more for.. wool, right?

>>38716729
>So, are the parrats foliatom apparently rounded up part of our "Population" now?
>How many did he round up? (Is foliatom connected to them somehow?)

Nonononon- Foliatom is just doing his own weird little side project. Foliatom is weird.
>>
>>38716747
wool, flax, hemp, cotton and really anything that can be used as thread to my knowledge. It more for making the thread, While the loom is for weaving it.
>>
>>38716747
>Nonononon- Foliatom is just doing his own weird little side project. Foliatom is weird.
As long as the parrats get their Django moment its fine by me.

Honestly I want to hug and save as many as we could.
>>
>>38716865
>wool, flax, hemp, cotton and really anything that can be used as thread to my knowledge. It more for making the thread, While the loom is for weaving it.

With that in mind then we PROBABLY do have spindles and this is one of those odd moments where I DIDNT make a distinction/brain fart.
>>
>>38716747
So foliatom got a starring role this time, makes me wonder how Achillopilli and Zetocsea are doing?

Or if they'll get starring roles in future threads.

And how are those two doing in general?
>>
I wonder if The Moon's going to have an opinion about our trick and about Akalade staying behind? I don't think it'd be upset but who knows with these gods?
>>
>>38716888
Okay, just want to see. I found the idea of them hand spinning everything kinda adorable.
>>
>>38716953
Yeah same here.

I'm also a little worried, that if magic is dying on the moon... does that mean that the Moon Goddess is dying too?
