> PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GREEN LANTERN: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Green+Lantern
> MECHANICS AND COSTUMES: http://pastebin.com/KBdW5vRg

It’s been three days.

The reinforcements you had hoped for to help you defeat Legion were delayed. Chaselon reported that a force of Manhunters were approaching Oa, and the Guardians recalled all available Lanterns to defend it in case of invasion. You under understand their reasoning but the fact remains is that you are still alone in fighting Legion now.

You hurriedly wrap a green bandage of willpower around your bleeding arm. It should heal nicely within the hour. You take a look outside a window of the towering spires. In the past three days you have done more than leveled the city, torn down mountains, raised canyons, and all manner of Earth moving actions.

Out there somewhere was Legion, licking his wounds perhaps. You have not seen him for a few hours.

Your stomach growls. Ugh… you really wish you had some food. The Green Power Ring is keeping the starvation back, but eventually you will need to eat something. And it is not like there is anything edible out here anyway.

No, you will let Legion escape now. You are so close to beating him, you know it.

You peer through the window. Nothing but dusty expanses, ruins, and a red sky. Legion is nowhere in sight.

A little jet of flame comes out from your ring. You might as well turn this little ruin into the Bastille. You start slicing rock outcroppings and stone floors. You need a wall here, a gate there, maybe a spike pit over there.

Oui, oui, it is all coming together nicely…

> …
> …

Legion stands before your mighty fortress of stone, rock, brick, and mortar. There are many dents in his armor, even some gashes where a few lucky hits penetrated. But so far, his appearance nor his demeanor go unchanged. :: Hello! :: He calls.

:: Hello! :: He calls again.

You poke your head up from a wall, wearing a kettle helmet of willpower and wielding a green flag of France. “Hello, who is it!?” you yell down at him.

Legion pauses, apparently not really believing what you’re doing. :: Green Lantern, we have fought for three solar cycles. Neither of us have gained the upper hand on each other. We request simply that you surrender instead. ::

You huff. “Ha! Surrender? I think not! Now go away!”

:: This is our planet. ::

“Well this is my castle, and you’re not welcome here!” you shout back. “So piss off, or I will be forced to taunt you, and your self-esteem will be quite damaged by it!”

Legion stands there.

Yeah, the past three days have not been good for your sanity.

:: Are you going to surrender or not? ::

:: Do not stick your tongue out at me, Green Lantern. ::

“You should’ve thought about before you became as yellow as a banana you… you…” Ugh, think of something. “… yellow person! Now go away!”

:: I will not - ::

“I blow my nose at you, Legion! Your namesake is not even the best part of the Bible, you are nothing but an insignificant slug to be trod on! Your mother is a dirty Australian, and your father is a platypus! Now piss off!”

Legion is struck silent by your insults.

After a minute, he speaks again. :: Very well. I shall return another time. When you are starving and more agreeable. :: He turns around, walking for the hills.

“Ha! The only thing I will be starving of is…” Attention, boys, food, water, everything necessary to your survival. “… you suck!” You cross your arms, pouting heavily. You look over to your constructs of medieval French soldiers. “I told him he sucked.” They cover their mouths, laughing. “Now, bring out the tea, quickly.”

And very quickly, a little table, some chairs, and a tea set is pulled out for you. You take the fine teacup and sip the willpower right back down your gullet. Aahh, even better than Darjeeling. Very lovely, very nice.

God, you’re lonely.

“Oi, oi!” you yell. You manage to catch Legion as he walks down a rusty road. Your giant legged castle has followed him, and now with the ultimate defense, you might as well flaunt it in front of him. You toss a rock down on him. It pings off of his helmet, but he barely acknowledges it. “How do you like my moving castle!? Its legs are more powerful than Betty Grables and its speed rivals that of a panzer tank!” The giant spider legs that you have attached to the foundation smash and grind up the landscape as they walk behind Legion.

Legion continues on walking.

“Hey!” you shout. “Do not ignore me! I am desecrating your home with this monstrosity of a machine made manifest from willpower!”

Legion stops and turns around.

“That’s better!” you shout. “Now let me just say-“ He walks up to one of the magical green legs. “What are you doing?”

He stands right next to it, then flicks the leg with his finger.

The entire castle collapses in one piece. You almost whack your head on the wall. At least its remained solid, that’s enough of an engineering feat. You rub your head, groaning as you look down to see Legion staring at you. “Okay, fair cop.”

:: Green Lantern, we may be at a stalemate now, but we do not need to sleep, eat, nor drink. You do, and you will need to eventually.” He balls his fists up. :: We will be there when you need to. ::

You swallow deeply. Ugh, damn it. He’s right.

“Surrender is always an option for you, Legion! We will gladly do our best to keep you in a maximum security cell back on Oa in relative comfort if you capitulate now!”

:: No. We sense that you are close to starvation anyway. What will give out first: your pride or hunger, will be determined very soon. We won’t need to expend any effort into beating you then. :: He holds up his hand, turning around to continue walking away. :: Until next time. ::

You stare at him as he walks away. You almost shout at him, but then your stomach growls again. It growls like a wolf under a full moon. Ugh, he’s right. You’re going to starve to death out here. You need food!

You look around.

Well, considering the landscape, you’re not going to find it out here. And surely Legion knows that if you summon someone to bring you food, he will easily dispatch them.

Hmph. He’s got you cornered in your own castle.

You hold your stomach, taking a look around the desolate wastes. Something… anything. There has to be something you can eat! You blast a pile of sand apart. Nothing. Though you did just get sand in your hair, which is never nice.

You kick up more dirt, scrapping around and trying to look for grass. Grass of all things! You’re a cow now, that’s what you are. Ugh, you hate to be reduced to such lows. What would Abin Sur think of you if he saw you like this!? What would Sinestro think if he saw you like this!?

Ugh, Sinestro.

You shake your head. It’s clear he’s not going to help you now.

> …
> …

You sit upon a rock, holding your aching stomach. It twists, it churns, it roars in hunger. “Be quiet, stomach,” you whine. It tells you “NEVER” in its own way by groaning even louder.

You sigh, whimpering a little. You can’t take this.

Your ring beeps.

> CARBON LIFEFORM DETECTED

Oh! You stand up and let the ring guide you. It pings, sending you through the increasingly darkening night skies of the planet. Your ring continues to beep, beep, beep.

You bust through a spire, then find what appears to be a metal tin surrounded by an active forcefield. Simple enough, you bring up a pair of scissors and slice the forcefield apart. You take the metal tin and open it.

And there inside of it were seeds. Seeds! You take one and hold the little brown speck in your fingers. Your lips tingle with drool. Oh, food at last…

And yet, probably the last hope for this planet ever being reborn.

Hm. Well, there’s at least 30.

> Don’t eat them.

It takes every fiber of your being to put the seeds down and not eat them. Thirty seeds probably barely makes a breakfast anyway. And yet still, while you really would want to stick it to Legion by rendering the last hope of this planet ever becoming fertile again with its natural life…

God, nobody would ever forgive you for indirectly dooming a planet to extinction. The important person in there being yourself. You sigh, sitting down and cradling your head. “Eurgh…” You’re so hungry! Where is everybody!? Where is Chaselon, where is Mogo, Eudora, where-“

Suddenly, a giant tear opens up. Princess Amethyst falls right through, flat on her face. “Ow!” She quickly stands up, holding her sword and swinging it around. “Okay, Legion, you better get ready because the Princess of Gemworld is about to turn you into an anvil you-“ She blinks, looking at you. “Oh. GL. Hi.”

You blink. “Hi.” You tilt your head. “What are you…”

“Clarissa told me to run,” she says. She helps you stand up, and looks you up and down worryingly. “But I came back, I wish to redeem myself for such cowardly behavior.” After three days? “I will fight Legion and…” She stares at your stomach, then looks up at you. “Bloody hell, are you hungry?”

Amethyst blinks at your response. “Ooh, gnarly. That bad?” You nod violently. She reaches into her satchel and pulls out a loaf of bread. “Here, try and-“ You’re halfway through eating it before she can finish. “… save that.” There is no savings here! She sighs, looking up at her tear. “I will have my servants bring more down.”

> …
> …

“So how are things in Gemworld?” you ask.

“We are rebuilding,” says Amethyst. “Many of the forests have been cut down, but we are replanting the trees. Crops are being resown. Towns are being rebuilt.” She sits next to you, around a campfire where you cook a cut of pork. “It’s a laborious process but thankfully it will bring Gemworld back on its feet.”

“I should hope so.” You rip a piece of soft bread from the loaf and stuff it into your mouth. “So what took you so long to come back?”

Amethyst sighs, resting her head on her hand. “Sometimes I just lose track of time in Gemworld. I could be in there for what may feel like hours, turns out it was a week.” She shrugs. “Of course, it’s not like things go faster down there I… I just lose track of time.” She looks to you, curling her lip. “So, did you come to fight Legion alone?” You nod. “That’s bold.”

“I have fought him to a standstill after three days,” you say. “Perhaps with you, we can turn the tide.”

She smiles happily. “I should hope so.” Night has fallen. Your campfire is the only light for lightyears. Who knows where Legion could be. “Should we go?”

“Yeah.” You stand up, and take one bite of a slice of pork and then another mouthful of bread. To top it off, a quick swig of water from Amethyst’s canteen. “We keep it loose. Legion doesn’t know I’ve got food in my belly and someone to back me up.” She nods. “Alright then, I’ll lead.”

And with that, you douse the campfire. It’s time to head out.

You keep your ring glowing, letting it light your way through the dark streets of this once proud and industrious city. Legion’s people were once proud you think, before their lust to consume drove them to do this. What a waste, an unsalvageable waste. Amethyst continues behind you, at least a couple of meters away, flitting from cover to cover.

At least if Legion is stalking you, the first thing he’ll see is you.

Your ears perk up.

You jump for cover. Right where you used to be, Legion’s feet now are. The impact shatters the street, and sends Amethyst flying backwards down the way. You quickly stand up, to see Legion marching up to you. :: We have you now. ::

Legion is tackled down by a giant rhino. It hoards over him, roaring in his face as the turret strapped to its back turns to face him. That, you are quite proud of it, happens to be the turret from a Panzer IV. It fires.

And doesn’t do a thing unfortunately, considering green doesn’t work against yellow.

He grabs the rhino by the throat and lifts it over his head. It lets out one last cry. Then snap, over his knee, the rhino’s spine is destroyed. He tosses the corpse out of the way and advances on you again. You pull another hat trick out of your sleeve. A construct of Legion himself, standing in your defense. How about that!?

He smashes it in the face, causing it to fade away immediately.

This time it smashes his knee, which sends him kneeling. “Ha!” Amethyst stands over him. “The Princess of Gemworld has avenged-“ Legion grabs her leg. “Oh.”

Before you can save her, Legion sends her flying. A spire serves as a brake, then another, then its nothing but clear sailing for her. “Amethyst!” you scream.

You jump into the air. Your costume rips apart, then suddenly revitalizes itself again into the outfit you were when under the Orange Lantern’s effects. It even comes complete with a slight orange glow to it. “Maybe this’ll be enough for you.”

A train whistle calls to him. He turns to his left.

And immediately, he is swept away by the blur of a train running him over.

You land again, smiling as you sweep your skirt back. Hmph, that will teach him. The train fades away, leaving only the wrecked and horrifically dented body of Legion within what used to be a pair of railroad tracks. You sidle up to him, grinning. “What do you make of that?” you say.

You stand over him.

Oh God, did you kill him? You lean in, confused.

His hand snaps at you, grabbing your neck. Okay, you didn’t kill him. He squeezes, and you feel the air get sucked right out of you. He slowly stands, one of his legs barely working anymore. :: No more charades. :: You wheeze, kicking your legs, trying to break free. :: We will kill you. ::

Then a blast of green knocks him forwards. He turns around. You look up to see a squadron of Green Lanterns coming. Help has arrived. “We’re comin’!” It’s Monsieur Kilowog, and Chaselon, and other Lanterns! They drop down next to you, wielding heavy non-green chains. “Get those chains on him!” Chaselon and friends fling the chains around Legion’s body. In the general confusion, he drops you as he tries to free himself.

“Kilowog! Chaselon, you came!” You run over to them, the pride rising in your chest. “Finally!”

“Chaselon told me about what was going on down here,” says the big pig-faced alien. “And now…” Legion is pulled down to the ground, and pinned by the chains which now glow red with energy. He struggles, but in that fight, you’ve damaged him enough for the others to take him down. “We’ve got ‘im,” says Kilowog.

Chaselon floats up to you, smiling. “It’s all thanks to you, Green Lantern Berger!”

You shrug. “Oh, it was not tough. He is all yours.” You walk up to him, finding him struggling against the chains set against him. “Just make sure he never escapes.”

The Guardian floats alongside you, Princess Amethyst, Kilowog, and Chaselon as you approach Legion’s new home on Oa. “I gotta admit. We’re just going to leave him here? You’ve seen what he can do,” says Kilowog.

The Guardian huffs. “Kilowog, it is not in the nature of the Corps to inflict capital punishment on the criminal element. As extreme and intolerable Legion may be, he is entitled to our care here on Oa where hopefully a stay in our cells will… redeem him.”

And there, you find Legion. He is held aloft by several electric forcefields pinning him to a wall. Beyond that are several turrets ready to fire in case of a break, and a constant guard of at least ten sentinels. Tricky, but probably not enough. The Guardian floats up to Legion’s head. “Legion, at least we meet.” Legion continues to stare at him. “It appears your campaign of tyranny and destruction across the universe is at an end. Have you anything to say for yourself?”

Legion slowly brings his head up. :: Closer… :: The Guardian blinks, then floats up closer to Legion.

Then, a cracking resonates throughout the cell. Legion has headbutted the Guardian to the floor. The Sentinels all surround him, energy lances ready. Chaselon and Kilowog cover the Guardian, rings held high.

:: We have nothing more to say. ::

You narrow your eyes.

Princess Amethyst looks at you. “What do we do now? Legion’s behind bars.”

We just survived a three-day siege against one of the Corps' most ruthless enemies. We need a breather.

Probably put on some special clothes for her. Since Legion is jailed, maybe something restrictive to match.

You open Eudora’s door, Princess Amethyst in tow. “We are back,” you call. Eudora is already at Clarissa’s bedside, serving a piping hot bowl of soup. You smile, walking up to the both of them. “Legion is behind bars now on Oa.”

Clarissa blinks. She looks far better now, her wounds definitely having healed thanks to the power of Eudora’s magic ring. Still, she does not look happy. “You didn’t kill him?” You shake your head. “Why not? He’s just going to break free again and you know it!”

You sit down in a chair with Amethyst. “Clarissa-“

“Goddamn it!” She sits up, gripping at her ribs. “We can’t just leave him behind bars. We need to like… throw him into a sun or toss him down a black hole or something! We gotta-“ You place your finger over her lips.

“Patience,” you say. “It should be fine, you’ll see. I do not agree with the Guardians I admit. And I feel well…” You bite your lip. Of all the times that you could’ve used Sinestro, instead he left you hanging. Hmph. So that’s how it is. “No, I will not take Legion’s life. That is not the Green Lantern way.”

Clarissa blinks again, then quietly pulls your finger away from her. “Fine.” She sneers, crossing her arms. “That big yellow scrapheap better stay where he is.” She looks down at your hand. “What do you have in there?”

You hold up your hand. “Seeds. From Legion’s planet.”

Mogo resonates through the house.

> YOU HOPE TO REVIVE HIS PLANET ONE DAY.

You nod at that. “Oui, Mogo.”

> AN HONORABLE PURSUIT.

You smile happily. What could go wrong now?
