You are HESSLER, a proud German Panzer Witch!

You had that troubling dream again.

You've honestly lost count of how many nights you've lost sleep over that damn nightmare. A Panzer Witch was invincible, unmovable, unbreakable. They shouldn't be bothered by silly dreams every night!

And yet here you were, waking up from your cot in a cold sweat. You sigh and put on a jacket, and walk out of your tent to get some fresh air. You and your unit were currently stationed just outside Minsk for rest and resupply. There was still vicious fighting going on within the city itself, mostly with regular Russian units and the most diehard Belarussian troops. The battle was far from over but everybody was confident that NATO would prevail. Even know, you could hear sporadic rocket and artillery fire as both sides tried to snipe at each other in the darkness.

With your head somewhat clear, you wonder what you should do. The Silver Tigers were scheduled to move back into Minsk to further push the remaining Soviet troops out. So far, you haven't told anybody about your nightmares, but you're starting to suspect that it's just the prelude to a much larger problem.

Maybe you should talk to someone?

You decide to talk to Elsa about this. She's practically your closest friend. You're sure she'd understand, and keep it quiet if you needed her to. With that, you head off to the edge of the camp. Elsa was always the outdoors type, and she preferred to sleep outside whenever possible. Several passing sentries salute you as you pass, but do nothing to stop you. You're an officer and a witch, after all. You give them a respectful nod and continue on your way. Quickly enough, you find Elsa's little makeshift camp. She's set up a little campfire where she's roasting a few marshmallows on a stick. You wonder just where in the hell she managed to obtain such delicacies on the frontline.

"Oh, hey, Hess!" Elsa waves, her senses as sharp as ever. "What brings you around?"

"Couldn't sleep." You sigh as you sit down on the same log Elsa is lounging on.

"What, again?" Elsa raises an eyebrow. "You sure it's not some kind of condition?"

"It's not." You assure her. "It's just... I've been having bad dreams lately."

Elsa's eyes narrow and she frowns, though the seriousness of her expression is muted somewhat when she pops a marshmallow in her mouth and begins chewing on it.

"That sounds a lot like that Pee Tee Ess Dee stuff the docs have been talking about." Elsa says. "Sounds like serious stuff."

"I'm perfectly fine." You grunt. "And you know any visit to the psychiatrists could get me pulled from the line."

"Would that be a bad thing?"

"What are you implying?" You narrow your eyes at Elsa.

"Well, what I'm saying is, so far you seem to have been doing a good job keeping this thing under wraps, but for how long?" Elsa gives you a hard stare. "And we got a battle tomorrow. You sure you're up for it?"

"Uh huh." Elsa nods, not quite convinced. "And what's gonna stop me from talking to Helene about this?"

"What's going to stop me from telling the other girls you have a full bag of marshmallows?"

"...touche." Elsa gulps.

"But I assure you, if it does become a problem to the point I'm incapable of command, the first thing I will do is inform Helene and resign." You say.

"Not if I beat ya to it." Elsa sighs.

"As expected." You finally crack a smile.

"Anyways, you want a marshmallow?" Elsa swings her stick away from the fire towards you, where a toasted marshmallow is stick at the end.

>>
>>39020328
She was pretty sheltered, from what I've been told/read, but she's also been afforded a significantly better lifestyle than the two kids in question, thanks to her family name. It was generally a pretty sedate life, but I imagine that carefully controlled life is only a small part of why she left the USSR.

She probably relates in one sense, but in another she is aware that the germans had it rough, and she, like anyone reasonable, thinks they deserved better.
>>
>>39020490
We need to get Katya and the kids together and go do some fun things together
>>
>>39019792
In the blink of an eye, you snatch the marshmallow off the stick with your mouth, eagerly chewing down the sweet, sticky snack. Elsa chortles heartily with laughter as you do so.

"I swear, it never gets old seeing just how you revert back to being a kid when marshmallows are involved."

"It's perfectly normal for adults to enjoy sweets." You huff as you swallow.

"Yeah, but not the to the extent you do." Elsa giggles as she sticks a few more marshmallows on the stick. "Might as well finish off the whole bag. These things go stale pretty fast."

"I'm not complaining." You smile.

---

"All right, Tigers, pack up and move out!" Helene bellows as she marches down the line of tents. "We're moving out within the hour! Battle load only, so take only what you can carry!"

You watch as your XO rallies the troops. Your witches, groggily, but quickly answer the call. Not one single sign of protest or reluctance among them. Just simple, complete discipline. Such was the way of the German armed forces.

"Another day, another battle." Helene grins as she stops by your side. "The requests have finally come in."

"Just now? They're cutting it awfully close." You frown.

"What can I say, the battle lines are constantly changing." Helen shrugs. "On the one hand, we have entire units surrendering en masse, and on the other we have Soviets stiffly resisting like they're reenacting Stalingrad."

"I see. So what do we have?" You say as you take the briefing folder from her.

(cont)
>>
>>39020519
Who?
>>
>>39020490
I think that's a general consensus on those in the know anyway.

As for how Frank tried to solve the issue, while noble, I'm pretty sure there are some concerns about this, especially Frank's mortality rate.

>>39020519
Well that is the plan that he and Ice talked about.
>>
>>39020578

"We have three possible targets. The Minsk Witch Hold, the main government building, or the central rail station." Helene informs you.

You review the hastily written briefing details. The Minsk Witch Hold was located in an old section of Minsk. It was near the main lines, but the streets around the area were extremely narrow and winding. Impossible for tanks to navigate and difficult for even tank witches to get through. You weren't even sure if the witches holing up inside there were hostile or not, since they apparently have not mobilized throughout the battle. But if there was the chance that they could contribute their strength to the cause, you had to take it.

The main government building, of course, was the administrative center of Minsk. While you doubted the Soviet commanders would be dumb enough to put their HQ in such an obvious building, the mere fact of seizing it would prove to be a huge morale boost to your forces, as well as a further demoralizing blow to the Soviet forces. However, they had to know this too, so it would be the most heavily defended.

The central rail station was a major transportation hub not just for the city, but for all of Belarus. It was the main route that the Soviets were transporting troops into the city. Taking the station would mean cutting off their means of reinforcements, but the routes to the station were large and open with relatively little cover, and it was sure to be heavily defended.

"So, where shall we commit our strength to?" Helene asks.

I suppose we can limit ourselves to mortars to minimize the damage. Or call in smoke rounds to cover our advance. Or get someone to paint targets with lasers for Copperhead artillery rounds and Hellfire missiles. Or ask for Maverick support.

Well, I'm sure Merc will tell us what kind of support we will have for the attack there. But I continue to champion Witch Hold. It's suited for our forces. At worst we keep them pinned there. At best we score allies.

>At best we score allies.
And maybe Hessler can woo them too.
>>
>>39020607
"We will assault the central train station. If we seize that then the garrison will no longer be able to receive reinforcements." You say. "It will all but guarantee our victory."

"Are you sure about this? The approaches will be highly hazardous. It will be guaranteed that they will have heavy weaponry targeting all of the approaches."

"And we'll have limited air support, too." Elsa adds in. "Me and Lisa have been doing our best taking out SAMs, but they still have a lot of long range systems on the other side of the city. NATO air command is only willing to deploy witches right now."

"It will be no issue." You say. "All it depends on is our approach."

You look at the map and review your options. There was the main road which was the primary method of advance. You could lead off with a large smoke barrage and close in. However, you'd be unable to take advantage of any long range support assets like artillery or Elsa's sniping, and be restricted to close quarters fighting.

Or, you could advance behind the main panzer divisions. Both the German and Polish Leopard 2s had thick armor, and the Thundercats' CATTB Abrams had active defense systems. However, you knew that such an approach would still result in massive casualties for the tankers.

The third, and most bold tactic would be a pincer attack. While the main force pushed up the road, your unit could be shipped in by helicopter, and supported by allied air witches, you could be dropped right on top of the station to wreak havoc. Plus, their only defense against helicopters would be limited to MANPADS and small arms. It was a high gain, high risk play.

"We will initiate a pincer attack." You say, point down at the map. "We will begin with a preliminary smoke barrage to blind their forces. While the main attack force pushes up the road to focus their attention, we will be inserted directly onto the station via helicopter. I believe this will achieve the speed and surprise necessary to seize the station with minimal casualties."

"That is a bold plane..." Helene says.

"I like it!" Elsa grins. "You always come up with the best plans!"

"Please, I'm just doing my duty." You grunt. "I will relay our plans to high command and make the necessary preparations. Make sure all of the girls are ready and equipped. Make sure they're equipped for close quarters combat."

"Jawhol." Helene salutes and marches off.

"Elsa, I expect you to provide sniper support from the air." You say to your friend.

"Roger roger!" Elsa snaps off a salute.

As the rest of the girls prepare, you head over to your personal armory. One of the perks to being a witch commander. You inspect all our assorted and gear and wonder what you should take.

For your ranged weapons, you had your 30mm cannon, meant to take out the heaviest of targets. Going down further, you had your MG3 machine gun, more suited for taking out light vehicles and large masses of troops. Finally, you had your trusty G3 battle rifle you had been using ever since boot camp. Modified, of course. It didn't have the fire rate or stopping power of the previous two weapons, but it was light and portable, making it easy to handle and carry.

You also had your close combat weapons. First up was a simple armored fist. Nothing much to explain there. There was also a retracted blade, and the pile bunker.

You decide to take the G3 rifle and the pile bunker, which would provide a nice balance of capability. The G3 would help handle any infantry you would come across, while the pile bunker would allow you to destroy any kind of armored threat up close, as well as knocking down troublesome doors and walls. After equipping your chosen weapons, you head over to the rally point, where you see your witches gathering around a squadron of CH-53s that are ready to lift off.

"Ah! Hess! You're here!" Elsa waves you over, where you can see several American witches behind her, no doubt your air support.

"I assume you are here to support us?" You ask as you approach who you assume to be their leader, a redhead witch wearing a cowboy hat and boots. Typical American.

"That's right." The American nods and shakes your hand. "Colonel Wilkins."

"Lt. Colonel Hessler." You say. "A pleasure."

"So I hear you're going to be needing some air support." Wilkins grins. "We'll clear a path for you, no problem. I'd like to be in and out, though. A lot of places that need air support and not enough witches to cover them. But that's up to you."

"Don't worry, I understand perfectly." Wilkins and turns to another witch. A tall, blonde, and very well endowed one, which made you feel a twinge of jealousy. "Pierce! We better bring a full load this time. We're going to be getting into some serious shit!"

"My favorite kind!" The blond witch laughs.

"Wait, you don't happen to know a Captain William Pierce, do you..." You ask the blonde witch curiously.

"Aw hell, that's my little bro!" The witch blinks in confusion. "Where'd you meet him?"

"We served together briefly in Asia." You say. "Actually, your brother actually saved my life."

"Ha! I figured. Little Will going off to save all the pretty damsels in distress!" Captain Pierce's sister laughs loudly and slaps you on the back. "Well, any friend of his is a friend of mine! Name's Breeana, but you can just call me Bree!"

"Um, thank you?" You say uncertainly, still not sure what to make of Captain Pierce's sister.

"You can call me Elsa!" Elsa says happily. "Hey, maybe we can get together and you can tell us all sorts of embarrassing stories about him!"

"Hmmm, I don't know..."

"I got marshmallows we could roast."

"It's a deal!" Bree says a bit too quickly.

"Focus." Both you and Wilkins say sternly.

"Sorry." Both Bree and Elsa apologize.

With that, your witches begin loading up in the CH-53s. Your witches would be divided up into four helicopters, while Wilkins was bringing to full squadrons of witches, including Bree to provide close air support. While most of the witches would be fighting on the ground, Elsa and her partner Lisa would remain on one of the CH-53s to provide aerial sniper support.

Within minutes, the helicopters are in the air and begin flying over the smoking ruins of Minsk. Down below, you could see the armored column that will be performing the frontal attack.

"Mortars splashing now!" The pilot announces.

Sure enough, you see the central train station quickly engulfed in explosions, but with thick grey smoke instead of fire.

"All right, we're coming in hot!" The pilot says. "Where's the LZ?!"

You had two possible LZs. The first was in the main trainyard, where it was more open and would give more space for the helos to land, but you'd have to fight your way up the building. On the other hand, you could drop directly on the roof, which would be much trickier but you'd literally be right on top of the enemy.

"Drop us on the roof!" You exclaim. "Wilkins, clear the area!"

"Don't have to tell me twice!" Wilkins replies as she and her witches swoop in ahead of the CH-53s. She and witches rake the rooftops with automatic rifle fire, killing or suppressing the enemy troops stationed up there. You see Bree whip out an M32 multiple grenade launcher and start bombarding the roof so that even the enemies taking cover weren't safe. By the time the first CH-53 arrives to the LZ, the rooftop is completely sterilized.

"Go go go!" You bellow as you half wave and half shove your witches out the rear loading ramp. WIlkins and her witches forms a defensive ring around the LZ, keeping an eye out for MANPADS crews or other AA assets.

"Helene! You take second, third, and fourth platoon and use the roof as a base of fire! Knock out their ground defenses! I will lead first platoon inside and clear the building!"

"Jawohl!" Helen affirms as she begins directing witches to take up firing positions.

You just hear a scream followed by the sound of bones breaking.

You glance at the door leading to the stairs and immediately ignore it. Stairs were a deathtrap for any attacking force. You should make your own entrance, instead.

"Wilkins, you are clear to fire on any hostile on the ground level! I will be breaching the building itself, so do not fire into it unless I say so!"

"Got it!" Wilkins then waves her witches forward and they eagerly dive down to sweep the enemies below. You get the feeling that due to Soviet air defense systems, they haven't had a lot to do lately.

You focus back on the situation at hand and aim your pile bunker downwards, blasting a hole in the roof. Immediately, you could hear surprised and panicked Russian voices emanating from the hole.

"Allow me to got first, Colonel!" One of your witches, Klara says. She's sporting a large riot shield in place of a melee weapon, prioritizing defense over offense.

You look down into the hole you created and your heart stops briefly again.

"If you will, please." You step aside to allow Klara to pass.

"Panzer Vor!" Klara bellows as she leaps into the breach. Almost immediately, you see no less than three RPGs bounce off both her magically enhanced riot shield. Laughing heartily, Klara speeds forward, pushing against the three RPG gunners with her shield and literally shoving them out the window, causing them to fall to the ground below.

"Good job." You say simply as you leap down. Bullets bounce off your rear shield, and you effortlessly spin around and gun down another four Russian soldiers with your G3. "First platoon, continue to clear the building. Be careful, they have RPGs."

"Jawohl!" Your girls yell.

"Yo, Hess! Me and Lisa got eyes on you!" Elsa says. "Actually, I see a LOT of activity on one of the platforms!"

"What kind of activity?" You ask.

"The 'GOTTA GET IMPORTANT SHIT OUTTA HERE' kind!" Elsa reports. "Might be expensive gear, or officers, or something, but it's something they definitely want gone! I see at least four tank witches there, too!"

Well, that was tempting, but your current priority was to clear the station so that the main forces could seize it. You're not sure if you should go out of your way to interdict the train.

"Elsa, coordinate with Wilkins to interdict that train." You instruct. "If it really is carrying something important, it can't leave this city!"

"Got it!" Elsa grins.

You continue your sweep of the building. It was a basic process. Breach one room, eliminate all of the hostiles within, move on to the next room. Your pile bunker makes it an incredibly easy job, quickly creating holes you could perform rapid breaches through and within the confines of this building, the Russian infantry simply had nothing at their disposal that could reliably take down a witch.

Finally, you reach a position where you can see the train Elsa was talking about. You see thick black smoke belching from the main engine, while the tank witches and infantry were trying to engage Wilkin's witches. However, it seemed the tank witches were expecting an air attack, and were lobbing flak shells into the air, which tore into the air witches' shields with every explosion.

"Damn, can't keep this up forever!" Bree grunts. "If we pull off these guys might try to flee on foot!"

"Elsa?" You ask.

"Trying my best here, but this helo isn't exactly the most stable firing position!" Elsa growls. "I think we might need some ground support here.

You pause to think. You had cleared the majority of the upper floors. You could go and assist the air witches and leave the rest to the main force, which had to be arriving soon...

"All right, I'm moving into assist." You say and turn to Klara. "You're with me. The rest of first platoon will continue to clear."

"Jawohl!" Your witches affirm over the net.

With that, you punch the window you are observing out of, shattering it. You then vault through the new opening and drop to the ground below, your tank strikers' shock absorbers squealing as they try to mitigate the impact. Klara lands a few meters next to you with a similarly loud thump.

"Forward!" You command as you rev up your tank strikers. Klara follows you closely as you close in on the main engagement. There, you see most of the air witches pulling back to recharge their shields, leaving only Wilkins and Bree to engage the ground forces. The four enemy tank witches are still up, lobbing flak shells into the air. You see two staying behind to engage the air witches while another two were pulling security for a group of Russian troops hastily piling into a truck, no doubt their backup transport.

"Wilkins, Bree, knock out that transport if you can! We'll handle the two witches on the platform!" You say as you speed forward. Klara moves alongside you. She's armed with an MG3, giving her much more punch, and she starts unleashing a torrent of rounds at the tank witches, which start sparking off their shields. They immediately turn their attention to you and start firing. However, they still have flak shells loaded, and they bounce harmlessly of Klara's riot shield. She doesn't even need to use magic to repel it.

"Roger that." Wilkins says. "Pulling off."

"Can we blow up the truck?" Bree asks excitedly. "Can we?"

However, you don't have time to find out what's going on. Your two opponents finally switch to standard cannon shells and begin firing. Klara grunts as the more powerful impacts begin slamming into her shield, but she resolutely plants her shield down.

"Support Wilkins and Bree. I can handle these two." You say.

"Roger that!" You hear Elsa say cheerfully and you can hear the sharp, distant crack of her rifle.

You'd love to see her handiwork, but currently you had more things to worry about. Klara focuses on suppressing one of the enemy witches, leaving you free to engage the other one. You see her aim her cannon at you. You're at a bit of a disadvantage with your paltry in comparison G3, but sometimes power wasn't everything...

You decide to close the distance. Your G3 would be no match for a full size cannon. You speed forward, firing your G3 as you go. However, it wouldn't have the power to pierce your opponent's shield and she knows it. She braces for a firing position, easily shrugging off your shots and returns fire, her cannon booming. You manage to dodge the fist two shells, your strikers groaning as you weave side to side. Unfortunately, her third shot hits, straining your shield.

But it's too late. With a final burst of speed you get in close and slam your pile driver into her gut, causing her to gasp and wheeze in surprise. You twist you wrist as the pile bunker charges...

You strike her with only a half charge. You can feel the steel rod punch into the witch's gut and she keels over in pain, vomiting blood and her past meal. You then raise your leg, smashing your knee into her face for good measure. Your opponent gasps before collapsing. Meanwhile, Klara manages to move forward and knocks out her opponent with a vicious shield bash. There's a loud metallic clang as she impacts the witch, sandwiching her between her shield and an idle train car.

"Two witches neutralized." You report. "Status?"

"We've secured the truck." Wilkins grunts. "One witch neutralized and one KIA."

"I see." You nod. "Good job."

"We're leaving the rest to you. Need to RTB to rearm and refuel." Wilkins says.

"Yeah, don't worry, everything is handled." Elsa adds.

You head over to the truck, which is leaking smoke from its engine block. Around it, you see the bodies of numerous Russian troops. One with is knocked out with a serious head wound while the other is practically missing her torso. Elsa's handiwork, you suspect. You search the truck but only manage to recover a secure, locked case, clutched in the arms of an officer who apparently took his own life. Coward.

"The train station is secure!" Helene shouts victoriously as you hear cheers over the radio.

Why doesn't it feel like a victory, then?

Not even that. It's hers and possibly maybe Spellcaster in general.

>“At this point, Frank owes Tabby all of the Whatever She Damn Well Asks For. Owes us all, really.”

This kind of come up every now and again but lines like or similar to these kind of show uup in POVs or discussion between Witches in Spellcaster.

The fact that in their minds Frank 'owes' them. Even if this is said as a joke, it kind of bothers me a lot, they can even say that considering the things Frank has done for them and still have the nerve to say that.

However, the one thing that really struck a nerve with me is how Mav compared Frank with Orion, the one who neglected and left her and thought Frank was stringing her along like Orion did to her.

That really bothered me even more then the precious comment since Mav knows Frank since they were younger, and she should know Frank's character better then that.

I could go mention the neglect thing and how Frank kept get dragging into other shit, and was legitimately busy dealing with shit but I think that has been mentioned.

Frank owes them nothing except maybe Ice and Merlin.

I had time to think about this the day after Hornet posted it.

I was a little annoyed at it due to KatyaxMav but I eventually shrugged it off due to partial Hornet messing with people and also the writing was good.

But reading it again kind of gave me a bit of clarity into Mav's mind and came off as a hot shot witch who's bite is almost is bad as her bark.

However, her thoughts on Frank and her projections of her past situation to his, using a flimsy excuse to do what she did, and still expects him to be grateful.

I find it rather disgusting.
>>
>>39025383

>>
>>39025264
From their perspective, the 'owing' thing is a figure of speech. For Maverick, she does think that he owes Ice something, because she's not blind to all the moments where Frank and Ice interact and Ice is basically #wet for a varying period of time, and she knows that Ice nearly cost herself the ability to use magic. That's as close to an open declaration of love as it gets, without actually saying it. She's always been good friends with Rachel, and she knows how badly she crushes on Frank. She's also friends with Katya, and her own lust for the dude is hardly a secret by any stretch of the imagination.

Maverick sees three witches lusting after one dude, the guy has clearly flirted with one of them enough that she gets extremely hot and bothered by it, and hasn't really committed to any of them while they all haphazardly pursue him in their own ways. She's worried for her friends, and that includes him.

As for how the squadron feels, it varies from witch to witch. I don't believe Ice feels Frank owes her anything but to PLEASE STAY ALIVE DON'T SCARE ME EVERY TIME YOU GO UP ALSO PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO RACHEL YOU IDIOT. Slider is worried for Frank in her own way, but keeps it much better compartmentalized. She does think that Ice and Frank should just get it over with (so she can stop worrying about this mess altogether because clinging onto hope like this is starting to hurt, not that she will tell anyone this).

Katya's... heh.

But yeah, they don't think Frank OWES them personal time or whatever. They also hardly believe that Frank hasn't done anything for them.
>>
>>39025406

>>
>>39025396
That is not even PTS, she blows off steam by sleeping with Young-spawn and other witches if they could.

She seems to be fairly in control except when it comes to Orion, it's just Mav who considers Frank and I quote "my oldest, best friend-slash-brother-I-wish-I-had-slash-guy-I-maybe-had-a-crush-on-when-I-was-little.”

and compares him to some sleaze who left her, the same guy who helped her wingwitch get some old alcohol to help with her adjustment period, who didn't blame her for the tomcat crash incident, who helped with the stall they were making, and even offered a shoulder to cry on when Orion left her.

That's not PTS, that's just projections, really, really, really bad projection on a person she knows better then that, and has a idea of the shit that is going on in his life.
>>
>>39025406
It's starting to get really annoying that we can't just make Frank act on his feelings for all three of them, he admits he has feelings for all of them, they likewise do the same, yet we can't actually act on them and its been this way for months for no reason.
>>
>>39025432
Now that you mention it, it's beginning to sound like a problem of emotional investment.

Like, it's been the three of them for the longest time, and there's a bond in there. When Orion left, there was this gap that can't be filled, and this is Mav trying to cope. Emphasis on TRYING.

But yeah, they don't think Frank OWES them personal time or whatever. They also hardly believe that Frank hasn't done anything for them.

You mean ice right? and the other girls feel a bit neglected, it's because again, shit keeps happening to him. To be fair, he sometimes walks into it head first but does it either for them or the alternative will be worse.

>>39025424
This is hardly belligerent. If anything this is pretty benign.

Saying more about Katya will have to wait until the next part.

>>39025432
Matters of the heart can make people see and think things. Making the comparison doesn't mean she thinks Frank is EXACTLY like Orion, she knows better than that. She does feel like he is stringing the girls along, but she also knows, through talking with him, that he's not exactly sure about how to deal with this, in the middle of being an ace pilot during a war.

Mav's solution, of course, is to go for all of 'em. She's only half kidding.

Which leads me to >>39025441

Frankly (haha), I don't think Frank's feelings for the girls are nearly as strong as anons. He likes them all, they are people he flies and fights alongside of almost every day. He trusts them all implicitly, and is aware of complicated feelings that he has for some of his squadmates...

But anon hasn't always made choices to pursue them to the vigor anon thinks he ought to if he cares for the girls as much as anons do...which he doesn't. I feel that Frank is a character independent of whatever neuroses or obsessions anon has towards landing one or all teh bitchez.

>>39025474
>They also hardly believe that Frank hasn't done anything for them.

Bullshit.

>>39025505
Ice is pretty much the one who wants him the most, I don't even think that's up for debate really. She did do what she did and almost cost herself the ability to be a combat witch in the process.
>>
>>39025516
See, here's the thing with that.

Mav may have had a lot of trysts in the past, but Orion and Fronk are probably the only guys he knows on an intimate level.

If you look at it, this 'throwing under the bus' thing is a rather twisted affirmation of the bond the two of them have.

You know you want to see meta dialogue between Frank, a boa, a...bengal tiger? and a.. an arctic fox?

>>39025652
Or just point them Ace Combat Quest.
>>
>>39025663
>Or just point them Ace Combat Quest.
but then they'd bitch and moan and whine that we're not in the air 24/7 constantly being refueled
>>
>>39025651
It was a few days, at best but most of the time was spents getting new clothes for the girls, getting medals pinned on him.

I think at best he got 48 hour of free time to himself. So your not wrong.
>>
>>39025621
Paris was pretty recent in terms of the timeline of events. In terms of when that particular date happened, I can't remember off the top of my head.

>>39025636
Eh, you ever have friends who are like your best buddies ever, but they still talk shit about your achievements?

It's kiiiiinda like that, except probably none of the girls jokes about how "worthless" Frank really is. Katherine does, but she's not Spellcaster, she's Youngspawn and is bound by blood to denigrate anyone who isn't Youngspawn. I'm depicting things as if Patty has come close to reaching that status, but she's an exception.
>>
>>39025663
>Or just point them Ace Combat Quest.

I'd rather not
>>
>>39025675
>Paris was pretty recent in terms of the timeline of events. In terms of when that particular date happened, I can't remember off the top of my head.
Paris was not recent at all, it was more than 3 months ago if Ghost's weekly jumps between treads and events are accurate.
>>
>>39025678
Three months is pretty recent for a little-over-a-year-long war that has taken three years to depict.
>>
>>39025663
Agreed on the ACQ recommendation MF.

Also,
>Your sssserioussssly an assssshat for ignoring my massssster you know.
>Comrade boa, you must not lead comrade fronk into more confusion, lest he'd start talking about muh clay...
>You two seem to be having it easy; meanwhile my master is getting her depravity on again.
>Fronk is giving them the 'I can't believe I'm having a conversation with these guys' look
>>
>>39025688
Not really considering the pace of events since then in the quest, it's old news by a long way, and the fact it was more than half a year ago outside of the quest.
>>
>>39025677
Frosty, just imagine the shenanigans!
>WHY THE FUCK can a sidewinder hit a damned truck?! It's NOT AN AGM for petessakes
>But anon, this is a ga--
>OH PISS OFF
>>
>>39025694
That's a completely subjective assessment.
>>
>>39025697
Fun Fact: The USAF did tests to see if the Sidewinder was a viable AGM in a pinch.

Apparently it worked fine.
>>
>>39025697
The day that happens is the day I pull my teeth and start writing full turbogrim to get the fuckers to leave
>>
>>39025675
Oh yeah, that's because it's fun and makes light of the situation aka Frank dying, because that's how she handles it.

Well Young-spawn is Young-spawn so that's obvious but it's not just Mav but other witches and even sometimes Spellcaster, that i mention these small things. It's just that mav kind of blew that powerderkeig for me on my thoughts on it.

As for Mav herself, still a bit of mix feelings. Young-spawn can get away with it, Mav is she was joking about his medals or his names then yeah, but some of the other things...not so much.
>>
>>39025712
Now THAT I'd like to see.

>>39025711
It's not the Sidearm ARM you're talking about, I hope?
>>
>>39025688
Well when you look at how much has been happening in Poland and on the East front, its not recent by any means, narratively or otherwise with at least 6 major engagements that I can recall happening since then, as well as developments on the ground like the daughterus and VDNI and dealing with Merlin's potential replacement. Even if you attempt to equate and compare things with a in-quest timeline : real life timeline comparison, which is all sorts of false logic, its been more than 9 months since Paris.

So no, it's not recent.
>>
>>39025694
I think it's something not worth agonizing over nearly as much as we have been here, to be honest.

>>39025697
This line of thinking is honestly pretty disappointing to read. This quest has, from the beginning, been a mix of Slice of Life shenanigans and war drama, and cutting out either one just because you are asshurt for not getting exclusively catered to is pretty destructive to the quest as a whole.

Also, most of the milfags in these threads are huge ace combat fans and pretending otherwise is misinformed at best.
>>
>>39025728
No thats not what he's talking about, they developed and tested a groundpound version of the Sidewinder and it seemed to work well but was more expensive than what they had.
>>
>>39025717
I think you're overreacting a tad.

Also I think the two of you may be reading different, possibly colloquial usages of the same words. Like "owes".

>>39025728
No.
>>
>>39025732
Good point, but you know how hard it is for some anons to not assert their supposedly superior knowledge on all matters military without stepping on some toes.

Which is why I prefer to talk to huys like PBR and Scholar at times.
>>
>>39025732
>I think it's something not worth agonizing over nearly as much as we have been here, to be honest.
Well when Ghost's pacing fluctuates between the hell of Barin and the grind of Torun South, yeah it is kind of worth it when it leads to issues we're seeing crop up, that isn't helped by your personal antics when moving the story along in your own ways.
>>
>>39025732
I'm more or less fine with pacing, I enjoy the SOL and find the military stuff fun if there is some witty dialogue (or Frank is in mortal danger), I enjoy the latter way more then I should.

>>39025737
I'm not even thinking on the 'owe' part, I was more thinking of the comparison part.
>>
>>39025737
>>39025736
Jeebus, what are the stats on that study? 30% hit rate?
>>
>>39025745
The best players are the ones who can tell their encyclopedic brains to shut the fuck up and just enjoy the story as long as it isn't breaking immersion or suspense of disbelief, which none of the 89 universe quests do thankfully enough, to Ghost and Merc's credit.
>>
>>39025749
Everything that I have written that goes with canon has always been with Ghost's approval. The quest is still his, despite your lack of faith in him.
>>
>>39025760
I've got all the faith in the world in Ghost, its you I don't have any in with how you've acted these last few months.
>>
>>39025759
Should I consider that as a vote of disapproval anon?
>>
>>39025759
I'd argue Frank's flying over Berlin was pretty out there but otherwise I agree
>>
>>39025770
So you've got faith in ghost, but then you actually don't, because you don't have faith in the stuff he's personally vetted. Right, okay then.
>>
>>39025787
>Frank's flying over Berlin was pretty out there
Haha zippo

Imagine seeing Fronk in Strangereal though.
>>
>>39025788
No anon, that train of thought just doesn't work, I can have faith in an editor of a magazine, but not in a writer who he approves articles of, it's the same case here.
>>
>>39025770
Not this again, If Ghost doesn nto approve, he'll mention it.

though to be fair, I did find it a bit hair-pulling for him to leave it as a cliffhanger.
>>
>>39025776
For what? If you mean letting those spergs spread then yes, don't let them spread.
>>
>>39025787
The cool thing about this quest is that in general, everyone's allowed to be a little out there, if not straight up crazygonuts. You got girls flying around with jet legs possessing impossible levels of maneuverability. Rather than pilots just dying helplessly to them, in this world they train hard and have the equipment to be able to at least put up a damned good fight. Which is awesome!

>>39025788
lol
>>
I find it quite surprising that there is little discussion these days over the three daughterus though.

>le sherlock pipe face
>>
>>39025798
No, If you have faith in him you have to go with all his decisions; otherwise it's not having faith. Just picking and choosing what suits you at the time.
>>
>>39025816
>Rather than pilots just dying helplessly to them, in this world they train hard and have the equipment to be able to at least put up a damned good fight.
Which is why I propose that somebody introduce Newtype technology here.
>>
>>39025823
but we already have VDNI

What I really want is for Ghost to let us announce INITIATE ENHANCED IMAGING before ever battle
>>
>>39025834
No, no feelthy, not just the VDNI.

Imagine cyber-newtypes, or even fully natural newtypes developed at the genetic level
>>
>>39025823
>>39025842
Naked Space Jedi are a stupid concept.
>>
>>39025834
MY HOME PLANET!
>>
>>39025856
>Not wanting Psycoframe enhancements for the Wyvern
>Not wanting fin funnels
>>
>>39025858
FINALLY GOD I WAS HOPING SOMEONE ELSE WOULD DO THIS
>>
>>39025869
To be honest feelthy, I didn't follow the Battletech cartoon. Hell I thought you were making a CSI reference.
>>
>>39025865
We don't want to see Russian Pilots naked in bubbly psychedelic soap space, thank you very much.
>>
>>39025869
SQUAWK!
>>
>>39025878
"So...much...hair..."
"FRANK PULL UP PULL UP"
"SO...MUCH...HAIR!"
>>
>>39025878
Fine, at least keep the Zaku II upgrades for the Red Army.

Either that, or Scopedogs.
>>
>>39025869
dude I've been posting that every time you mention ENHANCED IMAGING
>>
>>39025892
Aff, I meant for this thread, but you are wonderful and stay wonderful.
>>
>>39025905
IT WILL BE DONE STAR COLONEL, WE WILL CRUSH THE FREEBIRTH BENEATH OUR TALONS.
