You are Siegfried Schmidt, a former guard from the city of Morsland. Due to various circumstances, you have become the temporary wielder of Galadriel, a holy sword which houses a powerful six-winged angel of the same name. Now you have come to the White Watchtower, a fortress close to the border between the Forsaken Lands and the kingdom of Iseria, to train with the crusaders so that you can protect yourself from the demons that might come after you now that the sword is in your possession.

After your arena match with Anna, the young girl you and the others were originally searching for, you managed to convince Alastor, the demon lord of wrath, to let you spare her. However, he did so on the condition that you would both fight to the death in three days time, after he returns from business. After explaining (most of) your situation to Anna, that you are from the White Watchtower and came to rescue her and possibly the others held prisoner here, the two of you started brainstorming ways to escape before your deathmatch in three days. Fortunately, one of your housemates overheard your plight, and introduced you both to the resistance, a collection of roughly 200 prisoners who also want to escape the farm, but were wary of open rebellion against the demonic guards. With a crusader on their side, however, the resistance now has the training and confidence they need to try and escape.

With only two days to train the resistance and prepare for your escape, you get straight to work teaching them all that you know. It's not much, but they listen eagerly to what you say, no matter how simple. Considering that not long ago some were convinced that they couldn't even harm demons with normal weapons, it's no wonder they all listen intently as you tell them all you know about demons, supplemented by Galadriel's own knowledge.

As for the escape plans themselves, the resistance is currently trying to decide on the specifics of their escape. Thanks to the alchemist who stepped forward before, you have access to explosives to help your escape. However, with only two days to prepare and scavenge the necessary components, the alchemist says that you will have to choose between what he can put together in that time. He can either throw together several small charges, which you could hide and use as a trap for the guards, or he could build one big enough to blow through the wall, though that will take time to set and you'll need to keep the guards away from him while he does. The resistance's leaders seem split on which to use, so they ask you to help them decide.

>Make the smaller charges. We'll use them to set a trap and lure the gate guards in. After that, we'll just have to fight through any that stayed behind and open the gate.
>Make the bigger charge. We'll cover the alchemist while he sets the charge, then escape through the hole in the wall.

Make a smaller charge or two to use as a distraction or we could even set a fire if that's not pheasable and do

>>Make the bigger charge. We'll cover the alchemist while he sets the charge, then escape through the hole in the wall.

I hope this works.
>>
>>39115165
Give me some time to think about this.
>>
>>39115495
Smaller charges are more likely to drag other prisoners into this. More deaths overall on both sides, since some prisoners will likely try to sneak through the gate by themselves. The overall chaos may make that demon lord return faster to join in the fun.

Bigger charge sounds like one of those plans that hinge on nothing going wrong and will by default fail. I expect that we will need to start with our 10min strength on the wall THEN use the bomb, to optimize the amount of force going into the wall and not dissipated in every other direction.
>>
>>39115141
If there's only one gate out of the farm, you would imagine they'd be prepared for prisoners trying to rush the gate, so you support the idea of blowing a hole in the wall. At least that way you can choose where to fight rather than attacking what you imagine would be a fortified position.

The raven returns the next day and brings you all the information he can that can help with the fight against demons. Because the guards here are a new type of demon, there isn't a lot of reliable info the tower can send back to you except for some speculation and suggestions. However, because these demons are most likely demons of wrath, and because their skin is similar to burning coals, the tower does advise that you watch out for any fire attacks they might have, and suggests dumping water on them from the buildings if possible.

When you ask the raven what the captain said about sending help, he tells you that, while they can't go into the Forsaken Lands to help you, they can meet you at the border in case any demons try to chase after you. Once you make it back across the border, the tower is well within their rights to fight any demons that cross it. The raven volunteers to stick around and lead you and the resistance back to where they'll be stationed at the border, though he'll be staying out of harms way until you get through the wall.

With that, it seems all that's left is to wait until it's time to escape. You'll be spending most of your time with the resistance, training them all and helping put together a plan of attack, but if there's anything else you'd like to do, you should do it now while you still have time.

Punji sticks and barbed wire. Lay them out just above human head height, since these demons are taller.

Ass Creed wagons for people on the rooftops who need to get down VERY FUCKING FAST

Tape and/or a metal plate, to direct the force of the bomb towards the wall and not towards us.

Extra rope should be used for two-man tripwire, who will then beat down the demon that tripped.

Put out as many lights as possible. The oil will probably be used for the bomb anyway.

We need SOME way to funnel the demons into either narrow corridors or places where we can surround them.

>>39115772
Sharp sticks are made out of wood. There are fires here, so I expect they have SOME wood. Anything spiky that needs to be avoided will do, although it's likely that they'll just run through it, killing themselves but opening the way for the next batch.

Do you seriously think there aren't any wagons? Not even for carrying out the dead?

The metal plate....yeah, only praying for that.

You spend the rest of your time between now and the escape training the resistance and looking over plans with their leaders. You're only going to get one shot at this, so you need to prepare as best you can.

------
The day of the escape arrives, and everyone has prepared as best they could. Large scraps of wood, taken from the many dilapidated houses found in the slums, are sharpened to a sharp point and tied together to make crude barricades. Barrels of water are filled and placed by the windows in the taller buildings, where people are prepared to dump them on the attacking guards like the watchtower said to do. Rope is gathered and people hide in the side alleys so when the guards attack they can pull the ropes and trip them. And finally, as a last line of defense, the resistance is prepared to fight and buy the alchemist time while he sets the charge.

The charge in question is a collection of five barrels filled with...you're not really sure, honestly, but the alchemist says they should have enough kick in them to punch a hole through the wall, but it'll take time for him to set it up. When the time comes, you and Gavren help the alchemist carry the explosives out to the exposed section of the wall where you planned to make your stand. The road leading to it is narrow, so the guards will have to funnel in. You won't be able to flank them once they get past the last side alley where you set the tripwire, but at least they won't be able to swarm you all at once. Once the charges are brought out, the resistance starts putting up their crude barricades.
>>
>>39116468
"I'm setting the fuse now." The alchemist tells you, already crouched down and fiddling with the charges. "I'll work as fast as I can, but it won't be long until one of the guards notices what we're doing."

Sure enough, not long after he says that you hear the sound of a bellowing horn sound off in the distance. Seems one of them caught on to what's going on and sounded the alarm.

"We'll keep them off of you as long as we can." Gavren responds. "But you need to work fast, we can't hold them off forever."

>"How long is it going to take you to set this thing?"
>"What do we do about the others being held here? Are we just leaving them behind, or what?"
>"So...how big is the explosion going to be exactly?"

"So...how big is this explosion going to be, exactly?"

"Assuming the components harmonize correctly? Large enough to blow through the wall, and the force should be curved inwards so it won't hit us."

"Okay, and what if they don't harmonize?"

"Let's not worry about that and just pray for the best."

Well that's not exactly reassuring, but the alchemist seems to know what he's doing, so you leave him to his devices and get in formation with Gavren. Anna stands in the front along with you and Gavren, so you stand next to her.

"So, what are we going to do about the others being held here?" You ask Gavren as you both get in formation. "Are we just leaving them behind, or what?"

"I hate to say it, but there's really nothing we can do for them. With luck, some of them will manage to slip out the gate while the other guards are distracted, but otherwise they'll just have to sit tight and hope for the best. Maybe the White Watchtower will send help for them once you tell them everything that's happened here."

You're not sure whether the captain would approve a liberation or not, but you'll just have to cross that bridge when you get there. For now though, you have more pressing matters, like the sound of hooves getting closer and closer.

"They're coming." Anna states, tightening her grip on her greatsword. You draw Galadriel, who is currently shaped like a plain sword, and prepare for the incoming wave of guards.

The sound of hooves grows louder and louder, until a stampede of the four-armed guards turn the corner onto the road and rush madly towards everyone. You'd guess there's thirty of them right now, though your sure more will come soon. Their red "veins" glow brighter red than usual, and they bellow like mad bulls as they charge towards everyone.

The guards charge forward, most of them bashing through the barricades with ease, though you see at least one stumble and impale itself on the barricade's sharp points. As soon as they get close enough, the people in the buildings dump the barrels of water out the windows and onto the advancing guards. Curiously, you notice that their red "veins" grow dimmer after being soaked. Maybe that weakened them?

Finally, once they get close enough the two people hiding in the side alley pull the tripwire, sending the guards in front face-first onto the ground. Before they can get up, everyone charges forward to attack.

The sound of clashing metal is almost deafening. While the resistance makes short work of the guards that tripped, the rest put up quite a fight. Steel is met with razor sharp claws and pointy horns, but you and the others manage to hold the line. One of the guards tries to gore you with his horns, but you manage to step to the side in time and stab it in the side. Though that doesn't kill it, one of the others swings a battleaxe at it while it's attention is turned to you and decapitates the injured demon.

Strangely, after the slain demon falls to the ground you see that it's skin begins to smoke until it's skin melts away into a puddle of red and black ooze, leaving it's skeleton behind. Though that strikes you as odd, you can't sit to ponder it long, as another one comes to attack you with it's sharp claws.

As you predicted long ago, these things are very strong. It holds you down and lifts it's other two arms to strike you while you're down, but before it can you see a familiar greatsword cleave it from behind, making it collapse to the side.

"Be more careful." Anna shouts over the fighting, offering a hand to help you back onto your feet. You make a mental note to thank her later, but first you think you should do something about the two demons now approaching the both of you.

You both nod at each other, and meet the demons halfway. Anna takes the one on the right, while you deal with the one on the left.

You swing at the demon with Galadriel, leaving a searing white scar across it's chest. It bellows in rage, and swings it's two right arms at you in response. Holding up your fathers shield, you hear two loud thunks as it deflects the heavy blows. Following up, you slash at the offending arms, cutting one off at the elbow. The arm falls to the ground, quickly dissolving into that strange puddle of ooze.

Meanwhile, Anna exchanges blows with her demon, either evading or blocking most of it's attacks. You do however see one of it's claws graze her left arm.

On the other side, you see Gavren dealing with another demon. He brings his mace down hard on the demon's skull, making it fall to the ground, clearly dead. With that one dead, he comes to help you fight the demon who's arm you just lobbed off.

You leave this one to Gavren, and go to help Anna, who is struggling with her demon right now. Coming up from the side, you slash it across it's flank, drawing it's attention long enough for Anna to hit it with an overhead swing to the head, killing it as well.

Meanwhile, Gavren fights the demon you left behind, dodging past one of it's clawed swings and smashing it's kneecap. This causes the demon to fall forward onto the ground, where Gavren finishes it off by smashing it in the head with his mace.

Looking around, it seems that was the last of the first wave. Red and black ooze puddles near the skeleton remnants of the slain demons. Sadly, you also see the bodies of some members of the resistance as well, though not as many as you initially feared at least.

"That's the last of them for now, but more will come soon. I suggest getting ready for the next one now while we've got a second to breath." Gavren informs you. Sure enough, you hear that same bellowing horn in the distance that heralded the first wave, meaning more are on the way.

"How are you holding up?" You ask Anna.

"I'm fine. This one grazed my arm, but I'll live." You can see the claw marks on her arm where they grazed her. They're bleeding, but not enough to be of major concern.

"And what about you Gavren, how are you holding up."

Gavren, by contrast, seems to be perfectly fine. From what you saw earlier, it seems Gavren is a very competent fighter, though you're not sure if that comes from experience outside the farm, or from fighting in the arena.

"I'm fine, nothing to worry about. The guards are tough bastards, but their not quite the boogeymen we once thought they were now."

After that, you go around and check on any other injured rebels, healing those that are significantly injured. When that's done, you heal yourself of the aches left by that demon smashing you into the ground.

>20/20 HP remaining

After that, you sit down next to the alchemist and catch your breath, casting heal so much has left you tired. The alchemist continues to work on the bomb, tinkering with various components you don't recognize.

"How's the charge coming along?"

"Fairly well, it looks like all the components are harmonizing properly right now. I'll only need a little long to finish preparing the charge."

"How much longer?"

"Who knows, could be another five minutes, or it could be another half hour, no way of knowing until I'm done."

Your conversation is cut short by the sound of hooves approaching again. This time, it sounds like there's more of them than before.

"Try and finish it quickly, we can only hold them off so long."

"I'm doing the best I can. Just keep them busy for a little while longer."
>>
>>39119078
Well there's no demons nearby, why not quickly show them the true form of the sword and just say "an angel is with our side in this fight"

You rise to your feet, still feeling a tad fatigued from all the spellcasting, and get back in formation next to Gavren and Anna. The sound of hooves gets louder and louder, until you can see the second wave of guards approaching. This time, you see that the mutant Initiates are leading the charge, while the actual guards stay behind, possibly in case there are more traps. There's a whole lot of them this time, you hope that alchemist finishes what he's doing soon.

Say do, you think we could appeal to whatever humanity is left in these guys to turn against their masters and join us? I know it's a long shot, but even if one or two side with us it could help out our fight a lot. As long as any of them had family or friends still amongst the human race, there is a reasonably good chance to convince a couple of them to aid us.

Worth a shot if nothing else.

The mutated Initiates clash with the resistance, and once again the sounds of crashing steel fills the air. One of the mutated demons swings a wicked battleaxe at you, which you manage to block with your father's shield. You then counterattack with Galadriel, stabbing the mutant in the gut. Strangely, when it dies it doesn't turn to ooze like the guards. Maybe it's something that only happens after they've completely turned?

Meanwhile, Anna and Gavren are holding their own against the mutant onslaught. Gavren assists one of the other rebels being attacked by a mutant, while Anna fights with another mutant alone. Meanwhile, one of the guards makes it's way past the mutant vanguard and heads straight for you, red "veins" glowing brightly.

You pull the bottle of holy water you bought from Daniel back in Morsland out of your backpack. It's water, and it's holy, so maybe it'll be extra effective? You're not sure, but it's worth a shot.

When the demon pulls it's two right arms back for a punch, you spray the holy water into it's face, causing it to bellow it pain and grasps at it's face. The red veins become dim again, and when it pulls it's hands from it's face you see that the holy water burned it like acid, leaving a nasty scar on it's face.

You close in with Galadriel to finish it off with a power attack. It flails it's four claws about wildly, you suppose the holy water in it's face blinded it. Because of that, you're able to close in and stab it in the heart. It goes limp, and before you can even pull your sword out it's skin dissolves into ooze, leaving behind it's skeleton.

A pain shout draws your attention to your left, where Gavren is fighting with another demon. This one's veins glow brightly, and you see that Gavren has been sent to the ground by a punch. You notice that his armor has a large fist-shaped scorch mark where he was hit. Is that what the glowing veins signify?

You shift Galadriel from a plain sword into a bow, and fire an arrow of light at the demon. It pierces it's flank, causing it to bellow in pain. Taking advantage of the distraction, Gavren climbs back to his feet and smashes it's kneecaps with his mace, before bludgeoning it's skull after it collapses like the rest.

"How in the Void did you do that?" Gavren asks, moving closer.

"Uh...crusader magic." You answer weakly. It looks like he is about to say more, when you're interrupted by the alchemist shouting from behind.

"CHARGE IS SET!" He shouts, running to cover. A short moment later, there's an ear-splitting BANG as the charge sets off, blowing a large hole in the wall.

"That's our cue! Everbody, fall back!" Gavren shouts, and all the rebels begin to back up towards the wall.

The demons, however, are not about to let you go without a fight. Even as the resistance starts to back up towards the new hole in the wall, they charge forward.

As everybody starts to back up, you hold out your hand and start reciting the incantation for Flash. The blinding flash of light blinds all the demons in the front, causing the ones behind to attack the blinded demons in a fit of rage for blocking their way. While they're blind and quarreling, you follow everyone out the hole to freedom.

Outside, the raven flies down to meet you. It flutters above the rebels, calling "This way!", before flying off to lead the way. Everyone follows after, running as quickly as they can. The guards eventually start pouring out of the hole as well, possibly 100 of them. They chase after you, and for a moment it seems they might catch up and you'll have to fend them off, when suddenly the ground between you and the demons begins to crack and red light begins to glow from beneath.

You think fast, and roll out of the way before the ground erupts beneath you. Some of the demons are not so lucky, and are disintegrated by the column of fire that bursts out of the ground. The Lord of Wrath, Alastor, emerges from this column of fire, and calmly looks between the group of rebels and the garrison of demons. The rebels grow silent, rooted to the spot by fear.

The demons, however, seem relieved by the return of their lord. One of them steps forward to address his returned master.

"Lord Alastor, thank Malal you came back! We were just about to escort these mortals back to the-"

He is interrupted when Alastor reaches out one clawed hand and pierces both the demon's eyes, before ripping it's skull out in a terrible display of violence. The demon's body melts into ooze, leaving behind only it's headless skeleton.

"It's about damn time." He says, carelessly tossing the demon's skull behind him. "I was wondering if you mortals would ever grow a backbone. So, which one of you do I have to thank for all this damage, hm? Was it you, dwarf? Maybe it this one with the big sword. No...I think I know who it was." His eyes settle on you, sending a shiver down your spine.

"Tell me." He says, leaning down to look you directly in the eye. "What do you think happens now, mortal? After you've blown a hole in my wall and killed quite a few of my guards?"

You have no idea how to respond. For a moment, you consider casting flash and making a break for it, but you doubt you could outrun him if he chose to pursue. Finally, you settle on the only thing that comes to mind: Sarcasm.

"Do I get a prize?" You ask dryly.

The Lord of Wrath smiles wickedly, something you've noticed he tends to do before doing something bad.

"No. Not yet, at least. I've got one last opponent for you to fight, maybe if you survive I will give you a prize."

One last opponent? What is he talking about? While you ponder what Alastor has in store for everyone now, he turns back to the remaining demons and stretches out a hand.

"You've all served your purpose. You're not as strong as I thought you were, and now I've grown bored with you."

Before anything else can be said, a massive column of fire flies from Alastor's hand, killing all 100 of his remaining guards, leaving nothing behind but the strange black and red ooze.

"Now, the real game begins."

Suddenly, the ooze begins to move. You see more of it flowing from inside the farm, gathering together with the rest of the ooze and taking shape. Two hooves the size of houses take shape, building up into a figure very similar to the guards you fought just earlier. This one, however, has six arms, three horned heads, and stand one gigantic head above the walls of the farm you'd just escape. The new demon bellows in rage, shaking the ground beneath you.

"Now for the main event." Alastor says, floating up into the air until he stands above even the behemoth in front of you. "Go on mortals. Entertain me, one last time."

You can feel Galadriel seethe with anger in the back of your mind. 'By Aureus I swear, one day I will put an end to that fiend's games once and for all.'

Realizing that the time for subtlety has ended, you shift Galadriel into a bow and start firing at the behemoth while backing away. Those in the resistance that have bows do the same.

The arrows strike true, but don't seem to bother the giant demon much at all. It starts moving towards you and the rebels, it's movements are slow but it's huge size allows it to close the distance rapidly.

You shift Galadriel into a bardiche and concentrate, trying to draw on the new power Galadriel granted you. You can feel your body grow warm as a soft golden light flows from the bardiche to you, covering your whole body for a moment before disappearing. You'll take that to mean it's working now, and charge forward to hit the gigantic demon with everything you've got.

The 3 headed demon stoops down and swings one of it's six claws at you as you draw near. For a while, it seems you won't be able to run out from beneath it's seismic fist in time, until you try to jump the last stretch between you and safety. Not only do you clear the impact area, but you go far beyond it, leaping several feet ahead. Sweet Aureus, you feel like you could knock over a mountain like this! Which is good, since that's essentially what you're trying to do.

Deciding to test your new jumping abilities, you leap as high as you can at the end of your charge, flying as high as the demon's knees. You swing the bardiche with all your might, cleaving a viscous gash in the behemoth's knee. It roars in outrage, falling to one knee.

On the bright side, now you can deliver some serious damage to this hulking monstrosity. On the down side, it's now focused on you.

You follow up on your last attack, leaping up onto it's back while it's hunched over on it's knees. The heat standing on it is like standing in a desert at noon, but you bear with it. You run up it's back towards it's three heads. The one on the left sees you coming from the corner of it's eye, and tries to swat at you with one of it's six claws. You leap forward to evade it, slashing at it's throat with all your might.

You cleave right through to it's massive artery, causing the left head's eyes to go dim. The other two, however, are still alive. The giant rage demon reaches towards you with it's 3 right arms, trying to grab you.

You shift Galadriel from a bardiche into a gauntlet, and push with all your might. Slowly, you manage to force open the behemoth's hand and slip free, leaving a very nasty burn mark where you broke free. The behemoth made the mistake of holding you at eye level while he was crushing you, giving you a clear opening to attack again.

Shifting to a pike, you leap towards the center head and aim for the eyes. Using the force of the leap along with Galadriel's huge boost to your strength, you drive the spear into it's left eye, driving it all the way into the demon's brain. Just for good measure, you shift the spear into a battleaxe while it is embedded in the center head's eye, and rip it out, causing a terrible mess. The center head's remaining eye goes dim, leaving only one head. You doubt this guy can take much more, which is good, because you're starting to feel Galadriel's strength buff start to slowly wear off.

Realizing you have to end this quickly, before the strength buff wears off, you rush in to finish off the last head.

The behemoth demon, down to one head and thoroughly enraged, tries to crush you with all six of it's arms. You bob and weave past them, narrowly avoiding some of it's claws, and cleave into the last head's neck with your battleaxe. Once again, you hit an artery, and the last head's eyes go dim.

And then it starts to fall.

Using the last of Galadriel's strength buff, you run down the dead behemoth's back and leap off just before it crashes down to earth, rolling as you land. You're injured, exhausted, and you're still having a hard time believing you actually managed to pull all that off, but you're alive.

It seems all the rebels are stunned speechless by your performance. Considering you just ran up onto a giant demon and killed it when arrows did little to nothing against it, you can't really blame them.

Alastor, however, is not speechless. By contrast, he laughs heartily and applauds you from up in the air.

"Hahahaha! I thought you seemed different, but I never would have guessed you'd be the one that old six-winged bitch chose to carry her fancy blade. I thought I sensed a familiar hatred back in the arena." He starts to descend, approaching you with a toothy grin that sends shiver up your spine.

"Now then, I believe I promised a reward if you managed to actually survive my Behemoth. After a performance like that, I can't very well go back on my word now!" He extends a clawed hand towards the farm, and you can feel the earth begins to quiver and shake. Soon, the entire wall around the farm collapses, leaving the farm completely exposed.

"Go and gather up the rest of the mortals. Tell them they're free to go."

Hold on, he's just going to let everybody go now? Just like that? Maybe it's your guardsman intuition, or maybe it's just the unsettling way he's grinning right now, but you get the impression something is up.

>"Uh...thanks?"
>"You're just letting all of us go? Why?"
>"Call me crazy, but I don't think you're the type that does things out of the kindness of his heart. What's the catch?"

Of course his humility does stand well in trying to live up to the weight of wielding the sword.

>>
>>39124937
What? Siegfried is tired and exhausted, and he knows that for all he accomplished, Alastor is RIGHT FUCKING THERE.

His only chance at a returning to a normal life involves not catching the attention of someone who would still hunt him even after losing Galadriel, ie. Alastor, and not getting into any big fights until that point, ie. STILL ALASTOR.

He has lost, losing the snark and being a little depressed isn't out of character.
>>
>>39125012
>He has lost, losing the snark and being a little depressed isn't out of character.
Uhh what you wrote is absolutely not even close to Sieg's character anon, it was also fedora tippingly retarded
>>
>>39125012
You're pretty weird.
>>
>>39125012
Different anon here, and I also say this argument makes no sense and is way out of character.

The fact that he might actually be a permanent champion wouldn't do much to dampen the fact that he just CURBSTOMPED A BEHEMOTH so hard that LORD OF WRATH decided to release an entire farm's worth of hostages, for whatever reason.

Sure, he might realize that now or later. But that's no reason to do silly speeches right now.

Right now he's rather astounded at actions of the big guy and thinking how to get out of here alive before he changes his mind
>>
>>39125058
>>39125073
I can accept that in a "Time to celebrate with another beer!" way.

But that kinda clashes with how he viewed the crusades in the first place.
>>
>>39125141
That was when crusades were a distant thing threatening to affect him in a bad way.
Now that he's gotten himself into it, and that was pretty much when Gallie took him as a body-guard, the only way to go is by winning fights he ends up in. Plus he got to personally meet abducted/enslaved people. That probably left a mark as well - we might have tried to escape stealthily on our own, but we chose not to.

Essentially buddy when you are thinking about what Sieg would say or do in a situation, just ask yourself this:

What would John McClane do?

Its what I do.
>>
>>39125227
and now he's conflicted. Fine, I guess what I wrote implied that he was absolutely certain about how he thought about the whole thing.
>>
>>39125259
so he would say
"come to the tower wait an till a new champion shows them self's have a good time."

"Call me crazy, but I don't think you're the type that does things out of the kindness of his heart. What's the catch?"

Alastor hold up an empty hand in faux innocence. "No catch. I've had my fun, and watching over a farm with no guards is more trouble than it's worth anyways."

"Uh...thanks then?" You're still not entirely convinced, but you're not one to look a gift horse in the mouth either. Alastor steps to the side and gestures to the farm in an exaggerated "be my guest" gesture. As you start to walk passed him however, he whispers.

"It's been too long, Galadriel. I wonder how you'll react when I crush this new toy of yours like I did Asher."

To say that comment upset Galadriel would be an understatement. Rather, it feels as though there's a hot fire burning in the back of your skull.

Alastor breathes in deeply through his nose. "Hmm, haaa. I'd almost forgotten that sweet hatred of yours over the centuries. Still as angry as you were almost a thousand years ago I see." Turning his gaze back to you, he flashes you a toothy grin more intimidating than any scowl. "Grow strong, human, I expect to be properly entertained before I feast on your heart when next we meet."

With one last hearty laugh, Alastor then disappears into the red hot fissures of the earth, leaving you alone to contemplate just how much you hope you never run into each other again.

-----
The sun is starting to rise when you finally make it back to the border. It took some coaxing, but you and the resistance finally managed to gather all the other prisoners and lead them back to the border, where the crusaders of the White Watchtower await. The raven, who flew to safety during the battle with the behemoth, leads the way.
>>
>>39125395
it kinda sad no one noticed my rewritten quote from the movie.
>>
>>39125411
Almost immediately after Alastor disappeared, you were bombarded with question from the members of the resistance. What was that gold glow, how did your weapon keep changing, how did you get so strong all of a sudden, how on earth did you manage to slay that giant abomination, and more. Too exhausted to bother explaining everything, you told them you would explain later, after everyone was back over the border, where it's safe.

Now, with the border in sight, you see the many mounted crusaders of the watchtower waiting for you, pointing you out to others when you come into view. The raven flies ahead, landing on who you assume is Joan's shoulder. As soon as you make it back across the border, the other crusaders attend to the prisoners, checking them for injuries. Six familiar figures approach you as well, the knight captain and your friends.

"Aureus be praised, I'm relieved to see you survived." The knight captain says, sighing in relief. "I'm sure you're exhausted, but now that you're back, we need to discuss-"

The knight captain is interrupted when Erika, waiting in the back, pushes her way to the from and walks straight towards you. Uh oh, you don't like the look on her fa-

"Dumbass!"

That thought is promptly interrupted by Erika punching you square in the jaw as hard as she could. Or if that wasn't as hard as she could, you don't care to see the real deal.

"You see? I told you not to go running off on your own, and look what happened. Do you know how much trouble you've caused everyone?"

"I knew we should have made her stay in the tower." Justine mutters behind her.

"I fear this would have happened whether she met him here or back at the tower, miss Justine." Daniel replies. "Best to get it over with now rather than later."

"Yeah, she-'s kind of a bi-" The raven on Joan's shoulder starts to say, before she hurriedly holds it's beak shut.

That's not really argument against it. I'd say Erika is too tsun to allow hugs now so I'm not even arguing for it, but those are not thing normal people consider in such emotional situations.
I bet you would hug your friend if you seen them return from death.

"Well gee, good to see you too Erika. Good to know nothing's changed while I was gone at least." You pick yourself up and dust yourself off. Earned or not, she didn't have to punch you so damn hard.

"This isn't a joke Siegfried, you could have gotten killed out there." Well, seems sarcasm isn't going to lighten her mood any. She must be really mad with you right now.

"I know, I should have got on the damn horse. Regardless, I made it out just fine, and if I hadn't been there there's a good chance most of these people would have never gotten out of that farm."

"Yes, Siegfried has a point Erika." The Knight-Captain Laurentius intervenes. "Were it not for him, it's possible these people would have been imprisoned there for a very long time. Wouldn't you say that's worthy of forgiving him just this once?"

Though she still doesn't seem happy, she at least stops yelling at you, so you'd say that's a step in the right direction.

"Now then, Siegfried, we have much to discuss back at the tower, starting with what to do with all these rescued prisoners now that they're free. I'm sure you're tired, but it's best we discuss these matters now rather than later."

You shrug. "Can we at least sit down when we talk? It's been a rough couple of days."

The captain nods. "That is fine. Now, saddle up. It's time we finally returned to the White Watchtower."

Alright, gonna call it a night here folks. This thread was pretty combat heavy, so I apologize if that's not really your thing. Regardless, I hope you all had fun, I'll stick around for a bit to answer questions if you've got them, and if the thread dies before I answer, just ask me at the ask.fm in the OP.

Thanks for playing, next thread will probably be Monday unless I catch a bad case of the naps again. Keep an eye on the twitter in case something changes though.

Do you mean is everyone going to treat you differently now that you killed a behemoth? Well right now the Crusaders don't even know that happened, though they'll be filled in by next thread. Some might not believe it, but the ones that do will definitely treat you with a level of respect. The rebels who saw it first hand basically think you're Hercules or King Arthur right now.

I would if it didn't seem like the headpats option instead of genuine relief and happiness. Now that I've though it over, I believe Sparks could have implemented it well, but I've a habit to just shoot it down in principle.

>>
>>39125888
So next thread we deal with the aftermath.
Something along the lines of helping those that still have a home get back home and building a new settlement near the tower for those that don't have a home...
>>
>>39125941
How is hugging your friends after fighting your way out of a life or worse-than-death situation 'cheesy'?
>>
>>39125943
Try having friends everynow and then anon.

>>39125964
Yeah, it is your bad for immediately going "HURR DURR HEADPATS A SHIT FUCK YOU ALL" like a moron.
>>
>>39126009
Except headpats are fucking retarded, and I'm not really getting why there's so much anal devestation going on. Have I somehow hurt your feelings in shooting down the hugs option? Has this gotten you so flustered that my admittance of being wrong just isn't enough for you?
>>
>>39126000
Sieg is a sarcastic character. Hugs are only a thing if someone is seriously injured which he isn't. Came out almost scat-free from a fight with a giant behemoth. What he feels now is more along the lines of anger and why he's in that ridiculous situation in the first place and doesn't like the fact that he's greeted by a punch.
>>
>>39126086
I wasn't disputing that tacked on headpats are stupid, but you were acting like all those annoying autists who scream and shout down everything and go into full emotionless robot mode whenever you think it might happen just to avoid something stupidly minor.

You turned into a metagaming autist anon. You stopped playing the character and started playing the fat neckbeard behind the keyboard.
>>
>>39126087
>Came out almost scat-free from a fight with a giant behemoth.
Learn to use the right words anon.

Also, we didn't come out scot-free, we lost a 1/3 of our health so pay attention and read Sparks posts next time.
>>
>>39126087
>What he feels now is more along the lines of anger and why he's in that ridiculous situation in the first place and doesn't like the fact that he's greeted by a punch.
Yep, you're a friendless autist.
>>
>>39126000
Having to vote by committee in order to try and do something spontaneous sours a lot of the in-the-moment feeling of things, so that's part of what feels off about it to him.

The obvious response to this is "git gud @ imagination fgt", but even leaving that aside, it's always going to be harder to establish motive than it is to establish action, since it's harder to arrive at a consensus for. "Wat do?" is ubiquitous, but "why do?" tends to get contentious.
>>
>>39126111
I'm really tired and angry, so I'll just go to bed now. I'll see the logic in what you're saying when I wake up. Until, have a great fucking day/night.
>>
Okay people enough of the spreging. Don't want to ruin this quest with it.
Also my personal opinion is that Sparks railroaded our options here to just get punched and make both sides grumpy about it.
We're going to see the ''emotions'' that you all demand in the next thread when Sieg gets drunk with everyone.
>>
Wow, I didn't even get to say anything yet. Does everyone just hate everyone else for a variety of reasons? What does autist even mean at this point?
>>
>>39126196
It's an excuse for others to argue for nothing and trying to force some irrelevant opinion while the quest just started to develop.
Just warn people to stop spreging when you see them shitting up the threads.
>>
>>39125802
Thanks OP, was an awesome thread as always. Looking forward to next one!
>>
>>39125941
You're from a country where hugging friends is not normal, are you?
I can attest that such differencies make for awkward misunderstandings. But in quest it's not something that should warrant rage, in support or opposition of such action.
