Rolled 22 (1d100)

Last time the special event FINALLY fucking ended. That took awhile also we are STILL stuck in the beginnings when will the time skips and switches arrive?

Who knows as I sure as hell don't.

Anyway last time we chatted with deities, gave up a literally godly gift that was damn near PERFECT for us, acquired a bunch of pretty toys, tormented the AI, and are now on a ship being prepared for who knows what.

Some kind of naval exam apparently so we'll see how that goes.

Apparently last few threads weren't archived so shoot.

Anyway options are the following

>Switch
>Time Skip
>Ask about test
>Fiddle with new toys
>other?

If we gave up the gift did we at least get something as valuable in return?
>>

Question Genie?

If we used the card. . .was it implicit we'd. . .you know?

Because if we could've summoned the sex god and then talk to him about what exactly what was gonna happen because I don't think you the type to force a smut scene onto us as opposed to just letting him do w/e

I'm about to slap myself silly if we ENTIRELY misconstrued that gift.

>>39345513
Also is it possible to spend a super boon to get it back?. . .

What would have Abigail gotten out of pure enjoyment with no learning? As in the not eating/punching people kind?

You would of had the option to talk to the sex god in question who by the way was gonna be a real chill and humble fellow. You could of bargained with him or acquired some other kind of boon as he isn't really that much interested in the his 'so called portfolio'.

It got sacrificed for something else anon and due to its absurd power it would cost more then a super boon. Luckily you have a tab so it would cost a decent chuck of it.

Why?
>>
Rolled 67 (1d100)

I vote we go directly to the naval exam.

Well, Genie was heavily dropping hints throughout all the time taht we were passing up something really big and good.

Like, damn I've never seen him lay it on that thick.
>>
>>39348512
They have when trying to lead us down the wrong path and this was a hard action for the MC to make.

Now we just pissed on that action and left it a mockery. We made a trade and forced the card back. Some times it's best to leave things how they were and not take everything.

O well.
>>
Rolled 70 (1d100)

>>39348512
But what if that is also a "misconception"?
Genie could have just pretended to be amazed that we traded in the card when that was what was expected? Tempting us even to not trade it in?

We get both the deal and we get the card.

I dunno, I just reread that thread felt that Genie couldn't be any more thick on the hints.

I dunno, I just REALLY felt the last decision was the wrong one after Genie seemed so apprehensive against it
>>
>>39348826
Also another reason I wanted it was Genie also said things are better purchased earlier than later, and allowed to grow.

LIke, it's thread 8 this is way late. Should have purchased more stuff in thread 1 so Genie has more time to think on it.

It's not use buying stuff later on when it doesn't have room to grow. . .

I vote we keep it in our pocket for now.
>>
>>39348991
ICwise that's true. . .

Still, Genie called it an "absurd power".

Those two words define what I want to see in Abigail. Pure power. That sheer stupididly powerful akin to Valeria's loyalty or SWH's psionic might that breaks all reason rhyme and rule, that not even a SUPERBOON can break. A hurricane or tornado brute force.

And while we're still young so we can train to use this incredible power.

Until the day comes we can crack ships in half and toss shells as though they were fired from cannons.

A Combine looks at you before pressing a button and suddenly a screen appears in front of you all.

There on that screen is Admiral Vinozi who looked at you. This test is a high level test of which very few succeeded. In this automation you will be placed in an impossible situation and we'll be expected to perform one of two tasks. Survive or achieve victory."

"If you successfully survive depending on the number of intact forces you'll be granted certain amount of points. If you achieve victory you will be granted bonus points and your surviving forces will be checked."

"Best of luck Cadet your gonna need it."

With that the video ended and a combine soldier spoke up.

"Mission parameters you will be in command as before. In addition this will be a spaceship conflict in stand of surface."

"IF you do well you can expect to receive special privileges even more so. Either way you'll still be expected to go through basic training. Can't have a leader who doesn't know what it feels like to be a boot," with that last part you notice the soldiers start cracking up as you dock.

When the door opens you are shocked to find a certain company of augmented monsters(sirens to be exact) waiting for you. They along with some Combine troops...except there was something wrong with these so called troops.

After awhile you realized the truth.

These escorts were no mere basic combine troopers. They were something more spec ops maybe? Or some kind of Combine Elite perhaps?

Either way they escort you to your destination where you plugged in and suddenly found yourself surrounding by screeching alarms and a battlefield that shouldn't be there...

You are at the head of a capital warship of the Combine Armada. Unfortunately when you were committing a bombardment on a republic world a full blown war fleet blasted in.

That was when your commanding officer realized it was a trap once the Gateway went down and it was decided to blast everything.

For around that time abruptly ships were hit by Spec Op teams who went directly for Command Command. Ship captains were slain throughout the fleet as ambushes went flying around.

Your Commander the 'former' admiral was one of them. Just as you finished figuring out that at the moment YOU are the highest surviving officer you were granted leadership of the surviving fleet once the Spec Op teams withdrew once they finished their grisly work.

So here you are now at the head of a near leaderless fleet of ambushed, sabotaged fleet of ships that is surrounded by a fresh Republic fullblown War Fleet.

Your Commanding Officer fell for this trap hook, line, and sinker. A gateway and some collateral damage is a small price to pay in the Republic In exchange for wiping out a fleet of the Combine.

Ships in fleet are specialized for Destruction and Speed. In other words our fleet was specced towards fast glass cannons.

This prove to be bad when we got ambushed and sabotaged.

We lost 1 fifth of the fleet.

1 fifths are badly damaged but serviceable.

2 fifth is moderately damaged.

1 fifth is 'mostly' intact.

>>39350573
Your capital ship is a Combine Capital Cannonade Class. In other words a ship with absurdly huge CANNONS that specialized in heavy duty bombardment the like of which a dreadnought would be made jelly.

Seriously though this ship carries so much firepower its easily able to take down capital ships of all kinds, even juggernauts and dreadnaughts are an easy meal for this baby.

Thanks to the size of your ship the sabotage and ambush was only moderately successful.

Sadly you did lose a number of officers though.

>>39350785
So this crit means the AI in us has been gaining intel the enter time. And now gives us it?
>>
Rolled 44 (1d100)

Okay, here's my two bits.

The enemy knows they have us by the balls and they have a method they're employing. Their primary goal is our capture/destruction so at all costs they are gonna do that.

They are likely highly prepared for us to try something like a punch or a breakthrough, likely either overwhelm us with firepower OR as we advance they retreat, and kill us slowly through attrition. An "Elastic Defense", giving up ground by wounding us with each step.

Likely with the enemy numbers they're going to try and swamp our ships individually, so my first suggestion is immediately regrouping around the capital ship, which will be our primary objective.

The injured ships are to move in close under the cover of the guns, with the moderately ships around them.

Our fast, light, and intact ships and small vessels with speed and agility are to fly around us in various orbits, both acting as a buffer against enemy fire as well as their constant movement making it hard to hit them, while they can continue to zoom around and lay pot shots at the enemy.

>Regroup and centralize our force around the capital ship
>>
Rolled 67 (1d100)

>>39350785
...I don't even.

Ahem.

"Heyo boss. I haz something you might like."

That was when you remembered one of two things.

1 You have an AI with you plugged in who ALSO got dragged into the simulation.

2 The Combine Command should have ALL the data for these ships.

SO you did what every good girl should do you plugged yourself(and the AI) into the Mainframe and had the data directly uploaded.

Luckily the AI was able to sift through it perfectly(like goddamn how can just ONE AI do all of that) and made to sure learn while also digging around.

In that regard you founding out the specifics and dirty details.

Republic Spec Ops focused mainly on sabotaging internally during their assassination run towards your officers.

your HEROIC units are still MOSTLY intact.

Their sabotage focused towards acquiring info and disabling your ability to fight sufficiently while maximizing chaos.

Your ships while weak have potent combat ability still as their sabotages focused mainly on your comms, leadership, and most maneuverability.

Basically they tried to make you sitting ducks with good firepower so you can't get away despite the casualties they will receive.

Your heroics are still mostly alive.

The Republic formation is designed to encapsulate and kill.

"THis is based off a certain Historic Event in which a lesser officer of the Combine did the impossible."

"Most Combine Officers fail this exam due to its difficulty and there is no shame in it. Precious few survived and even few still actually achieved victory."

"Unfortunately the AI will know I am here soon enough so you'll only be able to use my assistance once before they change things up. As is they know something is up."
>>
Rolled 34 (1d100)

>>39350786
How dose the republics weapons work? Is it heat guided or tracking at all, how fast is it? Can they remote detonate there shots? I need to know this because if we use our fastest ships just right we can kite the republics shots into hitting there own ships. The crit might give us this info
>>

They fucked over comms and command fucking over leadership.

they kept your weapons live only with minor sabotage because they had to focus their efforts on something. Its still there though while also targeting a number of systems to decrease overall combat efficiency.

>>39351125
They prefer volume of fire to overwhelm their enemies.

These Republic ships are equipped in heavy armor for their their front guard and heavier weapons then usual.

>They will liekly respond to this, either by redirecting their forces to our rear or by advancing to our front

>This is good, as it means we reduce the distance and draw their forces in closer. "Reel in the net as it were"

And then once we have them close and in range, where they can't just retreat and bombard us from distance, that's when we loose the coiled fist and literally plow through them with our larger guns and ships

Well it took me like a year to get war mode set up so yeah.

Anons kept on wanting war mode so I worked on providing it.

They also wanted AWESOME and I have only ONE setting for such.

>>39351628
You...you have a plan a GENIUS plan that will require extreme skill and speed due to the intelligent nature of missiles.

Luckily you are with the Combine who are only the most experienced or heavy trained allowed to join. They are good at what they do which is exactly what your looking for.

So you call up the fastest small ships still alive in the fleet hoping their maneuverability is still live.

There you give an order and somehow convince them to perform it. That was when they went flying out.

Amazingly enough few ships were blasted out thanks to your timely warning and they commenced to the plan.

COMBINE TRAIT ACTIVATING.

Acquired Additional Success.

The combine ships zip out among, between, and before the republic ships blasting them with plasma or whatever else they have. This greatly damaged their ships and also enraged the Republic who concentrated their fire...which just so happened to instead of hitting their enemy hit each other.

They did so an awful lot.

Like a LOT.

You could see the blazing ships of the Combine narrowly dodging out of the way and even narrowly running from swarms of missiles before quickly diverting right before a republic ship causing it to get blasted.

All the while the Combine ships fired at the same.

Combine Success activated.

COMPETITION activated.

Combine forces have fallen into a competition over who could cause the most damage and its becoming quite fierce between different Combine forces.

WARNING

Republic are unleashing drones.

Republic is unleashing a barrage of fire upon our fleet.

Dispatched forces are still occupied with their game.

Dude the ONE rule for that setting was this.

"What can I do to make this setting as AWESOME as fucking possible?"

Its also based off my mythic post apoc setting as in a diverging timeline THAT was what it was like before apoc.

Basically rule of Post Apoclypse was 'Everything was Awesome then it ALL went to hell in a handbasket.'

That was when I had to ask myself the top question that resulted in this setting.

It all started with the post apoc but as anons both asked about more awesome/war I meanwhile was pondering the affects of Pre setting and its affects in the post apoc.

Both these duel trains of thought led to be ALSO digging up my older settings and started to giggle madly as I started to pour them all into a single pot with a crude name splayed onto it stating "AWESOME" while digging around and finding other stuff to throw into it.

The setting in question is crazy and loosely based off real world. I really do mean loosely though.

>>39352347
Their first bombardment as it were failed spectaularly also many of their drones went entering the crossfire got blown to hell.

What do?
>>
Rolled 89 (1d100)

>>39352547
Technically at the moment there are TWO diverging timelines.

One ends up Post Apoc while the other evades it.

Meanwhile the Genie giggles while grabbing stuff and throwing it into the pot of AWESOME before sifting through it to see what it mixes, changes, and results in before I madly grab it and throw it in yet MORE pots of AWESOME to see what happens.

The setting is madness on my psych and we all know how that will turn out. Strictly something I don't suggest doing for the sake of world building.

I am like 95 percent positive its only working for me due to my world building autisms and questionable sanity.
>>
Rolled 57 (1d100)

>>39352547

>Their first bombardment as it were failed spectaularly also many of their drones went entering the crossfire got blown to hell.
Hmm, so we have the small fleets occupying the republic bombarders with their game.

And for now the drones have been held back.

Let's see here.

I'm thinking since the Republic Ships have been damaged many of them should be less mobile and ripe for the taking, especially the big ones. Have our capital ship and big guns focus on taking out the damaged ships and picking off injured targets. The more Republic we destroy the less guns they have to fire on us.

The small ships damage them, the big guns take em out, and we grind down their forces.

Basically in the post apoc what exists is the broken and decaying remains of Glory. The 'AWESOME' meanwhile is either too busy destroying itself, destroyed, or slumbering away.

The entire premise of the Post Apoc was this "everything was AWESOME until the downfall."

This setting right here was reverse engineered based off what was before and what players wanted.

in simplest terms post apoc is this.

"Awesome Downfall"

and that is literally my entire post apocalypse setting.

I had this since literally day 1, but I didn't bother figuring out much of the Pre setting until player requests started. That was around the time I started to get to work.

>>39352862
They caught your forces when they were bunched up and near gravity sources hence they arrayed themselves accordingly.

Remember this is an ENTIRE Republic War Fleet. The only time you'll see something larger is if you attack a major Republic Conduit or earn the ire of an entire Armada(multiple warfleets+).

As is your hideously out numbered.

>Glory doesn't always require awesome first anon.
Yes it does.

It really does.

You can't have glory without having titanic awesomeness first, without the sheer scope of size and scale. It's why small civs dying small are mostly forgettable.

That hurts my feelings anon.

None of those 'small civs' were forgettable to me. It really kinda bothers me anons view it like they were. Never once in any of those civs was I able to reveal everything that i wanted or even simply existed.

Bah there was a disconnect though. Anons never wanted to just survive which was kinda the point.

>>39353052
Space is 3d.

>>39353131
That was certain anons choice and it hasn't happened since due to the resulting trauma.
>>
>>39353249
If we just wanted to survive, we'd never play. The civs have survived without us, in fact, they might survive longer if we don't interfere (civs tend to die when we meddle).

Your players can do much more than survive. They mean to thrive.

I play to carve our name into the earth. To leave an impression that lasts lifetimes. To be remembered for good or ill and to live into it and reach greatness.

Saying small civs are forgettable is harsh, a bit too harsh, I remember them.

We had a ragtag of outcasts who blew themselves up.
Robots who really shouldn't have lived.
Illusioned sleepers thinking they were spacemen who couldn't even drink.
Some brood I can't even recall what killed em.

Yeah, I remember those small civs.

But I also remember those rapacious bandits who from a tiny little bunker surrounded by zombies summoned a god, took over a base building by building well near the size of Market Garden, allied the mutants there and raped the hordes of zombies into submission and kicked out SWH, ending up with thousands of zed backed by hordes of zombies and mutants.

I remember those cultists who from their little group they too repulsed monsters, trapped and sacrificed a FALL tier hero, and turned themselves and their city into the ultimate avatar of their god. A walking mobile mass of tree and concrete, a moving city bound by vines like tissues where they dwell like the cells and are truly one with their god.

And I especially remember the Hax who fought down the Republic and the Combine war fleets and WON

THAT is power! That is glory! That is the true value of a civ. What glory and greatness you achieve.

You can say small civs are noble, or sympathetic or what have you. Think of how many little towns of brave rebels fought against the roman empire dying valiantly with their heroes.

Nobody remembers them. But everyone remembers Rome.

It's what lives on when you're dead . And how big of a footprint you left behind. That is the true value of a civ.

Okay.

Send our a force of some of our fast and moderately healthy/injured medium ships. They are to head back towards the planet.

They are to look as though they are attempting to make a breakthrough using the planets gravity as a sling, and divert some of the republic forces there (while dodging their fire). In actuallity, they will be slinging back using the boost from the orbit to attack from a different angle. They should be capable of going too fast for the republic forces to target them.

Meanwhile, we must protect our smaller faster vessels from being swamped by drones. Drones are light, but they lack heavy armaments and large engines for speed. Our medium and heavy ships should do good taking them down with their close in weapons systems and point defenses, using their armor and firepower to buffer and protect our fast ships in their game.

As for our biggest and best, and the capital ship. We MUST support the competition, they're going to help us make a penetration. But before that we need to deal with their layers of defenses.

Have the heavy ships and the Capital make a wedge formation and appear to press forward, using our firepower to help the competition taking out the things too big for them to handle, while they continue to wreak havoc up close attacking engines and vitals and sensors. They poke out the enemies eyes and we'll stab them with our bigger guns.

No doubt the enemy will try to outflank and surround us, as though we fell into their trap. Once they do try to outflank us from the sides or rear THIS is when the fleet 'fleeing' will slingshot back and attack them, and then we'll crush those forces in a pincer.

Oh boy.

Here we GO!

Music : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCm9q7if0ZA

Ere we go ere we GO hO!

Ships dispatched despite the grumbles and protests luckily we could work with it as they didn't cause enough problems.

They make for the planet gravity well which the republic reacts by opening fire sadly the chaos of their first line and the damage caused by your predeccessor along with the skills of the Combine allow them to easily bypass with hardly a glancing blow of such that even glass would be fine if a bit scratched.

So the forces made it and the Republic dispatches forces to catch/interrupt them.

Meanwhile the rest of the fleet opened fire with what sorry excuses of AoE and quanitative weapons they had...which mostly meant a whole lot of plasma torpedoes, missiles, and firing from batteries which shrieked towards the front line blasting apart another wave of republic drones.

Meanwhile the biggest and best ships along with your own slowly changes its position and prepares during the chaos start to charge forward while opening fire.

A single SHOT from your guns was enough to split a cruiser in half and completely wipe out the smaller ships blowing them to surprisingly literal smithereens.

Good god does this ship carry a retarded amount of firepower its not even funny. Best part is its not in masses of guns like a dreadnought but rather only a few outrageous cannons.

So your forces charged...and the enemy falls for the bait. Calling in forces they had in reserves for PRECISELY the moment of attempted breakthrough. They were holding back until the right time...which just so happened to align perfectly with your plans.

----
Meanwhile in a separate private viewing chamber a Two commanders sat and watched. Outside this space was lines of Elite Combine Troopers waiting in a vigil.

In another room an audience was slowly forming by those who had the pull to see. A stream directly to Combine Command where a certain benefactor and others watching.

"Hm...typical to acquire information."

"Yes but rather untypical to be able to sift through such outrageous sums or so easily to identify such facts."

They comment while watching you in the very beginning.

"Such skill to orcherstrate such a plan with such light vessels despite the risk."

"Yes but just look at how astounding successful it is. Such an action deserves a medal."

"Heh if only this wasn't a simulation."

They comment while viewing outward and enjoying the incredible light show as glimmers of Combine craft zip out and around while lasers and missiles following.

Creating a brilliant mixture of fireworks from the missile explosions and detonations from the nearby republic craft as they get pummeled.

Meanwhile the light show of the moving ships and the lasers created a brilliant gorgeous image among the firework show.

"Hm you know what I always wandered General?"

"Yes Admiral?"

"Why is it from up here in space war is so beautiful unlike the ground where it is such a horror?"

"heh that is the way of War."

"I always did love such a view..."

"Which is precisely why I hate your kind."

"Heh a birds eye view is so useful you know?"

"Yes but it makes you forget so easily what its like down on the ground. Among all the filth and horror. You not only forget you see it is as beauty instead of the horror it really is."

"Now you remind me why I never liked hanging out with you field commanders such a dour lot."

----

Now during your final plan.

"Hm...pulling back her forces to flee."

"Yes but look meanwhile her other forces are taking formation."

"Hm...so attempt to save the two thirds by creating such divisions and leave the rest as sacrifice? Very clever."

"Indeed."

"Wait a second..."

"What?"

"Look at the Trajectory on those ships General."

"Hm...wait they are..."

"They are gonna fling back towards their so called breakers."

"...my god a pincer reversal trap."

"Not only that you know that last third?"

"So she also in space..."
>>
Rolled 72 (1d100)

>>39355048
>>39355225
Just as their forces charged forth your previous forces swung back around leaving their trappers in the dust. Right around the time when Republic forces were calling in their reserves and moving towards your own ships.

They got slammed by your other ships who flung back around. So battle was joined and chaos erupted among the Republic forces.

Which was the worst thing that could of happened. Meanwhile the last third who held back commences to open fire on the trappers who were left behind blasting them while they tried to right themselves as they were left wide open.

The damage was catastrophic for the republic they not only found themselves in chaos but bizarrely enough also trapped at the same time. Meanwhile the unhappy Combine forces quickly changed their minds inregards to their impromptu commander.

As for the watchers...

-----

"So explain this to me admiral I am no spacer."

"Heh with pleasure you see the ships dispatched towards the planet making it LOOK like they were trying to breakthrough with the gravity well's help instead swung back around towards the breakers who made their own appearance of breaking through."

"This allowed their first force to escape while slamming into the enemy forces targetting the second reversing the trap. Meanwhile the Third Group open fired upon the Last enemy group were left wide open as they prey abruptly fled with such speed."

"All the while the forces who are keeping the first line of Republic forces occupied. So not only did their traps betray them their forces are breaking into chaos and panicking for a delectable reason. Their reserves are exhausted, their THREE traps have been utterly turned against them, AND they cannot properly mobalize. The result is as you can see..."

"Utter chaos among Republic forces as disorder reigns supreme and they cannot properly move."

"Exactly she COMPLETELY inverted the trap and created two of her own."

"..She is nothing short of a pure tactical genius."
>>
Rolled 21 (1d100)

>>39355397
"...To think she would be able to compare to THAT one."

"Yes...and that is WITHOUT any training even much less hardly foreknowledge."

"She isn't out of the woods yet."

"heh not gonna consider it a success just yet Admiral?"

"It can always go wrong."

"Very well then...either way its a lovely goddamn view."

"Agreed."

So the two of them watched as two fleets fought it out while the net was reversed on republic forces making it oh so very difficult for them to mobilize the rest of their forces. Their precious net somehow turning against them thanks to a certain plan...however this did not stop the republic.

WARNING
Republic trap forces are advancing towards your ships despite being under heavy fire.

You aren't. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't apply tried and true battle tactics to proven scenario's.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQNCGqfjaBc

The Republic are going to rely on their trademark tactic, pushing through with brute strength of numbers in overwhelming force, an unstoppable momentum.

We can use this to our advantage.

We'll need to put our biggest ships and the capital pride directly at the front and form a wall. Appear as though we're going to match them in open field combat.

Of course, where we to do that it'd be a battle they'd win. But that's fine

we're going to let them win.

We'll take command with our capital ship at the front and make a slow yet organized retreat, make it appear that we're reeling but above all we're there to ensure this is a disciplined withdrawal and not a route. We'll goad the republic into further advances and draw them in while we pull back seemingly overhwlemed.

Meanwhile to the sides and flanks our elite forces with fastmoving mediums and heavies should break off and defeat their flanking forces breaking off from the rear. This is crucial, I want our elites and deadliest ships there.

The entire battle rests on them, tell the competition guys this is the BONUS round where every ship in that flank/rear is double points.

They are to defeat the rearguard and open the way for our flanks to move in.

Our forces having broken off and defeated the rear will then take the enemies rear, our flanking troops will close the gaps from teh side, and then the capital ship and the biggest vessels will stop and push back from the front. They'll be surrounded on all sides with no way to truly direct their force anywhere cohesively.

There you fought desperately and came to a horrorifc realization.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCFoEJdU-Ig

Despite your best efforts...the enemy was winning. Your forces sent to break through their flankers was being ground to dust. Even with reinforcements from the retreating Combine forces helping you hold the line...your ships were not meant for a straight up fight.

And it was showing badly as your ships went down one after another. Including a particularly bad show of a ship that was right next to your own went down underneath the mass of concetrated firepower and sheer weight of numbers.

Meanwhile your own shields were visibly cracking from the strain as they took special care to take down your own ship. It wasn't long before the alarms sounded as shields went down and your ship started to quake as it took direct hits.

In front of the screen you could see badly damaged small fastest ships that previously managed to hold the line against an entire war fleet alone explode in fury balls of plasma as they took a hit that would of blown your command deck to pieces.

Meanwhile you could see yet others of their kind commit suicide runs as they literally charge forth guns blazing so hot and constantly causing their plasma cannons to overheat...yet still they did not stop firing or charging forth even as their ship literally started to melt down as plasma broke containment and then as a flaming missile of spewing plasma and melting ship they crash themselves into enemy ships for one last suicidal attack all the while howling for the glory of the Combine and the superiority of their species to their very last breath or until their comms died. Usually whichever came first.

Meanwhile Comms were exploding with screams of Combine forces losing their lives and reporting their failure.

The raw power of republic momentum was just too much. That was when you when you realized your cheeks were wet.

----

When you were blinded by your tears however...you found yourself hearing a bit better and that was when you heard something you previously missed.

It was Combine voices asking if they missed the fun, reports of victory, even stuff on how they were gonna compete too, and even howls as they join in as reinforcements.

That was when you heard reports from the flanks reporting they were now managing to push forward and how they received reinforcements.

When you pondered how this could be possible that was when you remembered the parts of your fleet that had been embroiled with the Republic trappers...and that was when once you cleared your eyes.

You saw weapon flashes and beams coming from...behind you.

"REINFORCEMENTS HAVE ARRIVED!"

With that spewing over the intercoms you could see badly beaten to shit Combine ships blasting through and committing a strafing run on Republic forces...buying you a precious reprieve.

Over the comms meanwhile you could hear your forces breaking through the republic flanks and noting their rear watchers commenced towards turning back around and came charging in at the Republic's rear.

The inhabitants are fighting amongst them selves for control (because what else is there to do besides fuck) and the goal (because if I did it there would be a clear goal) is to take over the entire ship and by extension the world you will colonize.

I did some tests with those fuckers...when encased in power armor many notable weaknesses they lose. Only force i was able to deploy that could counter was anything non zombie or monster.

Luckily(especially) bandit pyros aren't known for their sanity. However they are 'insanely' gifted when it comes to setting shit on fire(hence them joining bandits).

bandits love them some pryos due to how easily it allows them to move around in monster or zombie heavy areas. Basically though bandit pyros are the only pryo unit with the largest bonuses due to their perk.

>Pyromaniac

Which allows them to stack their insanity and skill scores together. Which results in some MAD skillz with their flames.

However the special penalty is bad shit happens when they can't set shit on fire. Which means bandits avoid fielding them unless their needed or they employ large amounts of the crazy.

Which means you'll mostly see them with bandits in zombie or monster infested areas.

Unlike any other Pryo unit for other factions they just can't get such quality flamers without breaking into pryokinesis or magic.

This technically means unless faction has SPECIAL of some kind bandits are the only faction which can readily deploy the best quality flame troops.

This is one of their hidden bonuses of which all factions have.

hm that feel when MAD tech is given to a non bandit group.

I do not know how to feel about this but I guess it depends on how its handled in that setting.

Mad tech as anons know is tech crafted my madness and only bandits are able to use it without (much) problem. Non bandit factions do not have the joy of knowing Mad tech so they are heavily panalized.

Bandits are too by the way but its much smaller and technically the only group which can use them without penalty are the following.

>Crazies
>Tech heroes

However both suffer a different problem instead with the crazy you still got their well...craziness to deal with while for tech heroes the tech in question REALLY isn't good for their mental health.

Like at all.

Many a super genius has been driven to madness to the repeated usage or god forbid the attempted understanding of the principles behind mad tech.

Interesting factoid.

Madtech doesn't have to be bandit tech its just bandits are the most liable to using it and have the highest concentrations of MAD.

Mad tech is a bitch to use properly despite its power even bandits have it backfire on them regularly and THEY are the ones most adapt at using the things!

As crazies using madtech while not suffering penalties still got their insanity to contend with. Which may or may not be a great mixture.

Still though its some serious bad mojo to use madtech as a non bandit faction. Your practically begging for shit to go wrong.

Now how is this important?

[spoile]because bandits and madtech existed Post Fall too.[/spoiler]
>>
Rolled 42 (1d100)

>>39357499
Bandit tech meanwhile is a strange thing. Mostly due to their heavy modding and lack of concern for complex shit.

Bandits would be noted for its brutal simplicity if it weren't with their obsession of upgrades, modding, general stupidity, and jury rigging that would make a survivor pale.

So while their tech is stupid simple to use when you take a closer look anyone will be soon horrorified with their getting rid of 'complex shit' which may be very important.

Game terms this means bandits are great at offense and defense OR speed. Sadly while simple to use its NOT simple to repair and their idea of maintenance is tear it apart or upgrade it. Obviously bad things can happen with lack of general maintenance and brutalized repairs but not nearly on the level of madtech bad.

As for understanding their tech while possible its bitch to reverse engineer and is guaranteed to cause mental trauma to those involved.

On the plus side though many a corp, governments, and EVEN militaries do go through the trouble of reverse engineering bandit tech. AS it still hold surprising amount of potential which they just can't resist looking into it.

Those tasked with actually looking into are noted for the following.

1 developing a loathing for their superiors for making them do this
2 a hatred for bandits and their so called 'tek'.

General rule of thumb is bandits are great offensively and if their speedy they would of likely given up on defense or the other way around.

Also beware madtech shit will either go very well or very wrong.
>>
Rolled 31 (1d100)

>>39357583
Another good rule of thumb is that bandit tech is stupidly sturdy. Like seriously how the hell does it still even work tier.

As in a bandit ride if say turned into swish cheese its not unknown for it to be able to STILL work just fine and if it can't its not a 'hard' fix.

Even a bandit tank that exploded catastrophically still is 'fixable' to bandits even more shockingly enough they'll manage it too. Granted it will seem like an entirely new vehicle but they'll make it work.

Luckily this rule of thumb doesn't apply to madtech as once its broken its typically broken...or not. Its impossible tell which exactly unless your MAD.

As for how its commonly argued that bandits replace 'unnecessary', 'useless', or 'complex' shit with loads of redundancy so that even their shit made not for defense can still be easily fixed.

So yeah bandit tek is some scary shit and downright traumatizing should you be mechanic or scientist.

Now as for why I bring this up the reason is simple.

Mostly because i was SUPPOSE to bring this up with the AI when you first got it but I forgot to go into detail but was reminded.

The reason is this.

Abigail is actually quite familiar with 'bandit' tech which Post Fall is broken into three different branches.

1 pirate tech
2 bandit
3 gang

aka all are tek of criminal elements. Thanks to abigail growing up in a super slum before going rogue and joining the Combine she grew VERY familiar with those technologies.

To a lesser degree this is also true with madtech which only occured thanks to her experiences and a crit.

Abigail is in fact very familiar with it and also knows a good bit of bandit slang so she can easily appear as one of them especially considering her tats.

She was after all part of a gang and grew quite familiar with them.
>>
Rolled 30 (1d100)

>>39368458
So what does this mean in game wise?

She actually gets a bonus when dealing with criminal elements and using their tech all thanks to her familiarity with them all.

So yeah that is why i went on the spleel completely forgot I was suppose to bring this up when you looted the AI.

Abigail knows a few languages.

She knows Republic Human Common Speech Combine Official Human Speech, Slummer(super sub dialect), gutter gang, and Tortuga Tongue.

As well as a smattering of Outsider, monster (Specialized H), and Savage. She does not however know any of the higher speeches and her language skills are very barbaric/crude. She has an awful accent too that makes her origins painfully clear.
>>
Rolled 52 (1d100)

>>39368550
SO your gal by the way reeks of being a street rat and gal ganger who decided to enlist. Not something that is exactly uncommon among lower ranks of soldiery so she isn't exactly over her head. Now however she is REALLY good at appearing to be a bandit and will commonly be mistaken for one if she actually rigs her gear to appear as such.

They wouldn't really question it due to her substantial experience in the slums and her firm grip on many of the lower tongues.

Unfortunately your girl is REALLY bad at dealing with people who aren't of the lower castes and god help if she gets stuck with the uppers.

On the plus side she is near perfect for any criminal infiltrating especially once she gets some training.

Guess I'll do some backstory.

----

>Location
Republic Sanctuary of LS aka 'Super Slum SLS'

>Time
Few years back exact date unknown

----
Down an alley there was a blinky dink sign that claimed to be Niko's Repair Shop. In reality it was a black store for modified gear, jury rigged repairs, black goods, fenced items, and the tek.

In this store an explosion abruptly occured as suddenly a police raid went down and were fighting it out viciously with nearby gangs that quickly spread out into the streets.

During the chaos most ran away a few however were desperate enough to brave it for the sake of survival. Now how could going into the chaos be more surviving then away?

Because some don't have a choice and are in desperate need for items that could be sold for a precious penny that is oh so pretty to them. Among this group of braves was a young girl.

----

You could hear explosions and the shouts of the gangsters as they opened fired at the cops. From the looks of it the cops brought their big guns considering bots and APCs along with the gear their touting. The gangsters meanwhile aren't so nearly so well armed but they have the advantage of both numbers and homeground.
>>
Rolled 28 (1d100)

>>39368741
Still you could see a gangster throw a flaming missile that exploded on one of the cops in a ball of fire...only for the cop to walk as if it was nothing.

You meanwhile made sure to duck and approached carefully ignoring the warnings beeping by automated systems saying how all civilians should leave the area and those that remained will be assumed to be hostile.

That did not however stop you or the other kids. After all just one even half decent haul could make sure you lived well for the next month easy.

Even so you could tell things were going poorly for the gangsters so you hoped that you could at least grab some of their stuff. Next thing you heard though was a strange whirring sound and when you looked up you noticed a team of gangsters hanging out the window who somehow managed to get hold of a HMG Auto Cannon that they then open fired with in a hail of gunfire turning the APC's into a swish cheese that linked blood and fuel before shredding nearby cop bots, and turning the cops into a gory spread...then you saw a missile fly in and blow out the location.

Looking up you could see cop crafts were flying in low this went poorly for some of them as slummers jumped on onto them, shot a few down with either sheer density of fire or even a few rockets, and finally you caught a glimpse of movement on blasting along the roofs and walls.

Looks like the gangsters are bringing out their big toys you though as a you saw a gunship go down after its cockpit got jumped on by a armored figure and its pilot lanced before crashing into the wall and exploding once it hit the ground.

Exitting the inferno meanwhile was a hardly bothered piece of power armor that shot down a few cops nonchalantly before moving off to find more to kill.

Sometimes you wander why you even bother as you check the pockets of a dead gangster and looting whatever you could find before moving on as quickly and quietly as you could.

Then you heard some screams of some of the kids.
>>
Rolled 91 (1d100)

>>39368922
Looking over you could see some small bodies and big pools of blood as a not so dead cop bot picks itself up before opening fire mowing down more of the fleeing kids before looking its way towards you.

Too bad for the robot you had already moved into cover before it started firing again blasting a nearby vehicle and shattering some windows before thumping into some walls.

You meanwhile had already moved into the gutter and down a different alley before the bot could poke its head where it had last saw you.

Yet another close call evaded luckily some other idiots checked out the bot first and died for it instead of you...which it could of easily been considering how valuable a cop bot bits can be worth.

So their death gave you enough of a warning to get away alive...so you dropped your current loot at a nearby stashing point before heading back.

Normally you would of ran away...but well you came here to improve on yourself and you can't afford to look weak. So you approached even as Lily Brigade formed around you creating a sort of arena while also blocking line of slight for others. So at least your ass beating wont be known to the other first years and you approach hoping you'll at least be able to strike back.

Instead you got the ever living daylights beat out of you and you never once felt so much satisfaction for being able to land a SINGLE hit. It was like trying to fight against a storm touch the wind when it came to facing her. You managed to strike her the once when you pulled a kamikaze before passing out.

It cost you though as you were beaten within an inch of your life before being dragged back from the medic bay recovered to yet another arena...which was oddly clean.

>>39370669
Here though you felt a strange urge and desire rise up from your depths. You decided this time you'll not only kick her ass but also decided to tap that delicious ass of hers.

So you charged and aimed for a kick but it all went wrong as she grabbed her leg and grappled you. You however did your best to scrape by and got a nice grab and position.

...that was when you noticed it was oddly quiet and when you looked away. Despite their helmets and visors you could tell they were giving you a very strange look.

...and that was when you heard Lillian spoke. "Ah so THAT's what you are after hm....how nice." the last bit the way she said it made you shiver deep down to your very core.

----
"...Did she know that Lillian is a lesbian?"

"Welp someone is gonna get raped and its not Lillian."

"I ain't ever seen someone be that stupid before."

-----

Suffice it to say your ass...wasn't kicked this time instead though she grappled and dragged you somewhere after the brawl.

You didn't realize where until you entered the bathroom and so you discovered that 'picking up the soap' is also a female problem.

You found yourself laying there wishing you had a pillow to bite, scream, or cry into. The silky sheets felt strange against your skin as you felt strangely violated yet oddly satisfied. When you looked up you could see a reflection of yourself from the mirror which only served to bring back bad memories as it reminded you of what occurred. Even looking around there were but more mirrors...your only choice was looking into the soiled sheets or closing your eyes which just isn't much better if it weren't worse.

...first came the bathroom where she had you after the brawl but she still wasn't done with you yet. So she dragged you up to her personnel quarters for yet more.

Your not sure what got into you at that time and why it managed to go so wrong. Yet here you are...you admit it could of been worst as you certainly had seen a lot worse in the slums and hey it wasn't a guy so there is that too or so you kept telling yourself.

When Lillian left she simply said words that you already knew that the strong take from the weak...and you weren't strong enough to take what you wanted from her. So instead she decided to teach you lesson and have some fun.

You'll admit you tried to be strong...but she was no is much stronger. Afterwards you cried despite her cooing and whimpered when she reached towards you. That was when she grabbed you and pulled you closer. So you shook like a leaf in the wind and got quiet wondering what she was gonna do now.

Instead she held you and eventually you broke down not being able to hold it in any longer. So you cried and cried until you could cry no more.

You cried about your lost dream, about what happened, and what you seen. You even cried for stuff you kept locked up for so long and stuff you had forgotten about as well as countless other reasons. For some reason it ALL came out...She meanwhile cooed and held you all the while only leaving you to your thoughts once you were done.

So...here you are now.

You think back...and remembered all the stuff you didn't cry for. Stuff that you couldn't cry because you couldn't afford it or stuff that you just got used to. Then the dam broke and it all came out also the words she spoke during it kept on beating around in your head.

"Holding in creates weaknesses that grow and rot inside you. When you let it out so too does the weakness leave allowing you to grow that much stronger that much easier. Even if you grow strong despite never letting it out it creates a rotten core inside you that may one day be used against you or create havoc at the worst times."

"Let it all out and grow strong."

That was when you came to a sickening realization. She did it on purpose and to such an extent. She knew if she shook you up hard enough and did enough the damn inside you would break...

and so it did.

You feel sick yet glad with this realization.

Lillian broke a time bomb inside Abigail that would of been very nasty for her even as a hero at a later date. You still could use help though as she was no expert and used typical Clanner methodology. However a new one may form but the old one is gone at least.

Could this be the use for that card?

Who better to help us with the Problem than the very god of Sex himself?

Rolled 56 (1d100)

>>39371869
As in what she did was sabotage any future work that may have been used against Abigail at a later date. Mostly because that dam/time bomb that was formed would be a VERY useful weapon that could of been used against her. This was something that was gonna come up later when you run into an enemy who does a mind delve and attacks the weak point. Now however I can't use that because Lillian happened. Funny thing about crits is sometimes they have affects that wouldn't be obvious or unexpected consequences.

Still sucks though and screw you anon for making me write that up.

>>39371995
It wouldn't have likely worked as it wasn't strictly connected to that. Lillian noticed it when she first met you and it would of taken the work of someone like a mind surgeon or a very helpful mind delver.

It was something that the Combine wouldn't have noticed for a long while but due to Lillian's past experiences she picked up on.

Her way of 'treatment' was akin to using a sledge hammer where surgical precision could of worked if one had the expertise. In the end same affect rather the question is how much side effects would of kicked in.

We've pretty much done everything, our augs, training, exams (with flying colors).

Now that we have a foothold we proceed further ahead.

I'm also interested to see the development of our rival, we don't even know her name.

I think, maybe at the end of our years here we're definitly going to have a competition for top student, and maybe even fleet combat.

Lillian didn't know how to fix it or what to do. She just has seen it before and later happened.

She saw a very dear someone who was taken in from a super slum fell victim to a psion who used a technique that targeted the same thing. However her that someone didn't make it being driven utterly insane and went on a rampage. She ended up having to put that someone down which haunted her ever since. It was her sister.

Sweet 16 accepted.

Graduation of the Academy.

Entering Spec Ops.

The graduation was an okay affair. Most of the cadets ended up enlisting with the military while a rest joined up for further Combine trainings...and a few such as yourself were granted a special offer of which you accepted.

You were gonna be offered two years Elite training. The two childhood friends had graduated last year and they joined up with the military directly. You are fairly certain they started banging especially after one incident where a training op went terribly wrong. You were never able to confirm though as you got your own space. Lillian meanwhile graduated but carried onto further Combine training. You are still a bit bothered with what she did to you but you sorta understand now...kinda.

With your leaving though marks the end of Lily's Brigade. Somehow you lacked the Tyranny of Lillian and the flair of those two. So when you went so too did they.

The graduation was an okay affair before you were taken away. There you will be escorted to a secret facility for your special training.

When the graduation finished you were escorted by two squads of Elites and the Monster unit to the ship that was going to take you away.

There you were offered a choice in what you could be done.

REQUIRED BY COMBINE!

>Pilot

When you got ready to leave the Sin Soldier now called Nixy due to the AI installed within it brings out the two vials mentioning you still haven't drunken them also amazingly enough a few letters were sent to you(a first).

When you checked the letters you noticed there were number of them.

1 by Dr.?????
1 from Benefactor
1 from Lillian
2 letters both from the two officers whom you stayed with and graduated the year before.
2 Letters from Clans.

Your asking for a LOT considering the limited time and the amount of training you can squeeze in there. The super boon trait is overriding this affect allowing you to gain another one.

You can of course just don't bother and stick with the additional 4 slots.
>>
Alright, six slots.

Here's my suggestion.

As an absolute we MUST get
>Elite Command

Since it caters to our proven aptitude.

http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/39105759/#39169825
During a previous thread, we speciically voted on Psi-Mage stuff, so we should follow through with that.

>Elite Psi
>Elite Magi

The Psi will do good to protect us from Psi attacks which we seem to be vulnerable to. And Magi goes well with it.

That leaves us with three others we can pick.
>>
>>39374180
How good is elite training? Is it worth 100$

Also Genie I wanted to ask, how common/acceptable is the hiring of privateers? Or the use of bandits/scum/criminals against enemies?
>>
Rolled 33 (1d100)

>>39374180
In that case no deal. The 2 boons are for all or nothing. But can one make nixy take all the ones we don't? He can tran us later
>>
Rolled 40 (1d100)

>>39374200
Combine has NO standards in that regards so long as you screw over the republic as much as possible.

They do acquire some (sorry) standards for non republic forces though.

Republic will do it to but they are 'supposed' to have some kind of standards for it.

>>39374181
They may already have something in mind for command training considering those exact scores. So you may not have to choose it as the Combine is likely to sink a LOT in it for you.

Though I suppose stacks wont hurt but still. You only get so many slots.
>>
So many options

Only 4 slots.

2 of them being taken up by Psi and Magi. . .

such tough decisions
>>
Rolled 61 (1d100)

>>39374328
What if we stay in this school for 1 or 2 more years?
>>
Rolled 92 (1d100)

>>39374462
Its a two year program to churn out elites for human members of the Combine. They don't 'do' additional years unless you do time in the active military first which can change their mind.

>>39374418
You don't have to do that.

I think she would do a week of prep work before using the card.
Stuff like taking vitamins and pills to super boost her stamina
Drinking lots of water to keep her fluids up
Not getting off at all for a week
Lots of stretches to make herself nice and limber
Setting up LOTS of very high quality cameras all over her room so she can relive the experience again and again by programming a sex bot to copy the sex gods actions later on.

You know, prep work. She knows the value of the experience a lot, and she would want to get the absolute most out of it.
