The trees around you shake violently in the wind, thrashing back and forth far less like plants and more like fingers of a dark god, reaching to grab any victim nearby. You dodge and twist past them, still running as fast as you can. The wind itself starts to roar ever more violently, and you take a second to lie down against the ground, grabbing onto tufts of whatever it is you’re running on, some soft and oily-black material. After a few seconds you get back up again and keep running, ignoring your lungs shouting for air, the cramps in your legs begging for a break, and your mind constantly screaming what the fuck is happening-

“Wake up.”

Those are the words you always wait for. You’re running, running, waiting for something to save you!

“Wake up!”

And now that you hear them, you can start to free yourself. You slowly pull yourself from the ground, and force yourself to stop running even as the wind grows louder and the trees start to whip even more fiercely. You start to recognize the breaks in the scene, where things are inconsistent. And so slowly, too slowly, you allow yourself to escape-

“WAKE THE FUCK UP BEFORE I SHOVE A FOOT UP YOUR ASS!”

And there we go.

You open your eyes to a blue sky, a natural sky, and the ground beneath you feels like concrete, and while not natural you welcome it all the same. Looking around, you find yourself lying directly in the centre of a street, some of your equipment spread out around you from where you fell.

You slowly lean upwards as the memories come back to you, a few memories of a job in taking care of minor annoyances, a feel of anger as you realized that ‘minor’ was an understatement, and more frustration as you got hit in the back of the head by the very much major annoyances.

Despite all that, for the life of you you can’t remember your fucking name.

This is a Quest based in a universe where magical girls exist. However, due to lesser 'demons' escaping into the real world, the governments of various countries have worked with magical girls to create a force to fight these lesser demons off, while the magical girls deal with the big stuff. You are a member of one of those forces, called a Magical Threat Response Team.

Just as you feel your memories start to click together again, someone else shouts out your name anyway.

“Hey, Shogo! Get the fuck off your ass and get over here!” that would be the voice of Ida Jorgensen, standing not too far from you.

From your position on the ground, you see her holding a sword sword in her right hand, with a holster of throwing knives attached to that wrist, with her left hand picking out one or two every few seconds and letting them fly from her hands. With long blonde hair tied up neatly in a bun and deep blue eyes, you’d definitely consider her pretty hot. Of course, she’s about 2 metres tall and she’s got far too many fucking knives for you to ever consider approaching her except very very cautiously.

Slowly, you pull yourself onto your feet, taking a few seconds to grab some of your equipment and putting them back where they belong.

"Very funny, Ida," you mutter, finally standing to your full height...

You gotta say, no matter how badass some people in Legion armor look, a Recon suit moves fast enough that it doesn’t matter you can’t take a hit. You quickly jog over to Ida, where she’s still unleashing a whirlwind of blades downrange.

For that matter, you’re sure that downrange used to be a normal street not too long ago, but the dismembered bodies of demons and their fluids are plastered everywhere, making the area into some insane abstract painting with reds, yellows, and blacks.

“Alright, Shogo, now that you’re up, think you can actually do something about the fucking demons? Seriously, I can’t keep up this output of knives without an Em-Gee nearby.” Ida grunts, tossing another three blades into a few more demons. They keep coming though, only a few metres away at this point. Pushing Ida to the side, you reach...

With a grin, you adjust the shotgun so it sits in your shoulder properly, and before the first demon can think about regretting everything it had done up to this moment, you pull the trigger.

You've known for a while that enchanted bullets are more expensive for a reason. On the one hand, an Em-Gee actually has to come along and charm them all, and depending on what kind of effects you're going for you have to go out of your way to find the right one.

And on the other hand, when you do find that Em-Gee who's got a particular affinity for fiery chaos?

It's beautiful. Your shotgun erupts in a glorious yellow flame of righteousness and utterly destroys the group of demons. The ones at the back feel each piece of molten lead tear through their skin before they're consumed by the fire that follows. The first demon is the lucky one, instantly removed from this life. One decides to keep moving, but you step up and bash its head in with the stock.

You turn back to Ida...

As a side note, this is a mostly character-creation based thread, so rolling won't be that present. When you do do it, though, you'll be rolling 3d20. I'll set a DC, and you roll against it, with two equal or higher rolls considered a success, three equal or higher rolls considered a crit success, only one equal or higher being a fail, and NO good rolls considered a crit fail.

For all social scenes, rolling will never be required, and I'll think what's appropriate. You can ALWAYS write in, including for combat scenarios, and if they please me I'll make it easier or more awesome.

As Ida slowly stands up from the ground, having been knocked down by the abrupt righteousness, you grab onto her wrist and help her onto her feet, wrapping one arm around her as you pull out two cigarettes from your Pack Meant Exactly For These Occasions, popping one in her mouth and your own, lighting them with the still smoking tip of your shotgun that has managed to cool from white hot to a mere red glow.

Holstering your shotgun, you keep your arm wrapped around her as you turn back to face the place where demons may have once existed before being utterly wrecked. You turn to smile at her, watching as her shocked face slowly gets more and more red.

“Well, there’s the cavalry. That what you asked for? Oh, Ida, you’re blushing something fierce! Why would that be?”

Ida slowly takes a breath, and spits the cigarette out, unwrapping your arm from her. “Shogo, before you try anything like that next time, write your will beforehand and tell everyone you won’t be coming back.”

With that, a voice now crackles on the comms line. “Alright guys, now that we’re done with our post-fighting hormonal relieval, can we continue our job?”

You chuckle as you recognize the voice...

>Robin, your backup sniper. She must be watching you guys from a rooftop.

"Hey Robin! Enjoying the show?"

You hear a little laughter. "Sure am, but can it wait until we get back to base? We still need to finish up the rest of the demons coming your way."

You turn back to the abstract painting you and Ida have created, and find more demons walking up it.

"Sure, how about-"

“-Robin, can you provide us some covering fire while we take the direct route?”

As you finish the sentence, a few of the heads of the demons explode, sniper rounds easily piercing through the grey matter.

“Better get moving, then.”

Ida takes the lead, fanning out a few of the knives from the wrist guard and throwing them in front of her like an iron wall. The demons unlucky enough to get hit fall down, the iron naturally negating their magic and life-force. Ida finishes it off with well-placed slices from her sword, lopping off heads here and there.

You though...

Well, you have the exo-skeleton for a reason, right? Sure, you’ve never done it before, but might as well give it a go...

You start running, letting the exo-skeleton assist you in moving faster and faster. Ida looks back in surprise, and stands in the centre of the street as if to stop you, but you just grin as you turn towards the buildings on either side of her and jump up to them.

With a crunch, your boots make contact with the building and you keep running, using both your momentum and obvious badassery to keep you running past Ida and towards the final group of demons. A few of them get their heads popped by Robin, but there’s enough for you.

Feeling yourself come to the end of the wallrun, you jump away and up from the wall, sailing above the group of demons, which all look up at you with something approaching horror.

You point your shotgun down, and pull the trigger.

>Skill Learnt! Freerunning! You are no longer confined by that silly thing called physics when you’ve got your Recon armor on. Without it, you’re still pretty cool, but you’re chained by logic.

>This is your First Skill. I’m giving it to you for free, but in the future where there’s a write in option, I may require you to roll. Any time you get an appropriately high roll, you can learn a skill based on what you wrote in. If you roll three tens, for example, while smooth talking a woman, you may get Silver Tongue and get bonus options for social interactions.

You come to a landing in the middle of the burning remains of the demons, shotgun resting on your shoulder.

You can see the source now, only a few blocks from you, with more demons emerging from it.

>Wait for Ida to catch up, and keep going.
>Wait for the squad to join you, and keep going

You turn on the commlink, connecting back to the squad.

“Hey guys, I’ve got eyes on the source. Robin, back me up, I’m gonna go for it.”

Robin whistles. “You sure you can clear them all?”

You shrug at the words. “I just need to get through and cut the source. You guys can clean up the remaining demons once we don’t have to worry about any more coming through.”

Roland’s deep voice joins the conversation. “Be careful, Shogo. Ida and I will be right behind you.”

“Got it boss. Let’s go!” You get your shotgun ready again and start running, feet hitting the ground every few seconds as your strides get longer and longer. As the demons attempt to hit you, you jump above them into another building, gaining more and more speed. You chuckle quietly as you remember an old videogame you used to play, similar to what you’re doing now.

As you approach the source, you jump off the wall again and roll, landing not too far from the pulsating orb in the air. The demons behind you attempt to come after you, but you recognize the shouts of Ida and Roland as they distract the horde.

From one of your pouches, you pull out a block of activated magic, a small lump of enchanted plastic explosive that, over the years, has proven remarkably effective at doing what once took a magic girl to do. Sure, the gate still existed, but it was securely shut until an Em-Gee could come and clean it up.

Pressing a finger against the activation mark, you toss it at the source, watching in satisfaction as it starts to pulsate faster and faster until it collapses in on itself.

Just as the portal collapses, though, you... feel it tear, somehow. Even as it shuts in, one last demon escapes.

You feel your balls slowly attempt to retract inside of you as you stare at the Witch in front of you.

Witches are what create the Demons. While Demons harass mortals, the Witches work on turning those mortals into more demons, before eventually sacrificing them all to make themselves more powerful.

This one seems to be slightly weakened from its demons dying around it, but that’s like saying you’re weakened without a few fingers. This Witch can, and will, kill you.

Slowly, you look around for a gas station or something. This witch has gotta burn.

Unfortunately, you can’t see any within a block. And the witch is advancing towards you, taking its precious time. It hasn’t sensed an Em-Gee yet, so it thinks it isn’t in trouble.

Time to prove just what a bad idea that was.

You quickly jump to the side, to the tall apartment building on the side of the street, firing as many shots as you can from your shotgun before it melts in your hands. The Witch screams in rage, finally recognizing it is fighting a worthy opponent. Even as you toss your shotgun away, the Witch starts running after you, her feet clawing into the ground, distorting the reality of the road more than tearing it apart. Without waiting, you keep running up the side of the building, jumping back and forth between windowsills to keep momentum. But you can feel the witch catching up. So, without further ado, you turn, drive your feet into the side of the building again, and launch straight back down into the Witch’s comically surprised face.

Your elbow, luckily one of the most heavily armored parts of your suit, crunches into the Witch’s face with extreme prejudice, the enchanted metal melting away at her face as she screams. But before too long, her screams are interrupted by the sound of her body crushing into the ground.

You roll away, taking a few seconds to catch your breath. She’s down, for a few seconds.

Time to finish it.

From your equipment bag, you pull your most sacred treasure. You usually carry everything you need to survive on you, whether it’s out in the woods or in a bathroom stall with no toilet paper left. But this is something more than that. This is your dad’s old double edge razor, still in prime condition thanks to its many enchantments that your father and yourself poured into it. It could cut through steel (you’ve tried) and just about anything else.

So before the Witch can even think about fighting, you flick out the blade, and slice off the Witch’s head.

You watch as power erupts from the Witch, flowing back into the city around you. You watch the demons disentegrate, slowly dissolving into the road itself and repairing it, paying back the damage done. You even feel a little energy go through you.

You turn back to face your comrades, who are still picking their jaws off the floor. Even Roland, the two and a half metre giant wearing modified Legion armor that required an exo suit to even support itself, has an expression of surprise.

You drop the Witch’s head as you go to fish another item out of your bag, still holding onto the razor.

“Well that,” you start, opening the pair of sunglasses,

“was quite a,” you begin to put them on, even as you watch Robin slowly come to a realization of what you’re doing, but far too late...

“...close shave.”

Your squad all turns to face a young girl standing next to where the portal was located. Tapping her foot impatiently. It almost seems cute, apart from demon blood covering her uniform enough that red and yellow have become the primary colours. Only the tall wooden staff she holds is clean.

“Sir, I didn’t see any Em-Gee up until she,” you indicate the girl sitting to the side of the room, “decided to show up. I knew that if I let it go, then it would go on to kill many more people, especially when it had entered the real world in its form. In the end, my life is less valuable than the people I serve, and even if I had died then the others would still have taken it down much more easily. Plus, the Witch was hardly at full strength, so I-”

One of the board members interrupts you. He wears the sash of Quartermaster, declaring he is the one who controls the influx of supplies into the area MTRT-17 operates in. “That’s complete and utter tosh! You risked yourself, and your equipment, just so you could be a hero? And your shotgun, we’re gonna have to acquire another one that can stand up to those insane shells you put into it-”

“Silence, Jax! It is not your place to talk about heroes, especially when they are successful.” this time, the Magical Girl shouted out, standing up with the help of her staff. “He saved hundreds, if not thousands of lives, and you complain about a fucking shotgun?”

Jax keeps eye contact with the girl for a few seconds, before breaking away and nodding slowly. “I understand. Forgive me, Akane Shogo. That was too far.”

You shake your head. “it’s fine, sir, I can understand your frustration. Equipment certainly doesn’t grow on trees, and I hated losing the shotgun as well. But in the end, a broken shotgun is better than a dead MTRT member, even if I did say I was willing to die to save people. In the end, this is the best way.”

Jax nods. “Fair enough.”

>You have Jax’s respect!

“Well, that brings us to the end point of this discussion.” You turn back to the Em-Gee, who has walked in front of the board members, looking up at you. Despite the difference in height, you still feel the impressive power that the Em-Gee puts out, almost pushing you back.

“Akane Shogo, I would like to promote you. As an MTRT member, you’ve done incredible work, and your actions are overall thought out and well-executed. You are also strong enough to kill a Witch, even if by luck only. While you aren’t a Magical Girl, I’d like to offer you an option to train with us and become the first Witch Hunter.”

“Uh, yeah, sure! I’d be honored! Just as soon as I know what exactly that means.”

The girl nods. “Fair enough. Well, right now the only people capable of killing Witches are Magical Girls. Sure, sometimes groups or even just single squadrons can take them down, but usually with heavy losses and no guarantee of a kill. You are, literally, the first human to kill a Witch.”

“Uh, you guys aren’t human?”

“We were, and we are, but we’ve got a magical core inside of us that grants us our powers. Modified humans, if you will. You are a pure human, with nothing but plain old equipment to support you. Even if Jax complains, it is monumentally cheaper to make you an entire set of equipment than it is to replace or even repair my own or other magical girl’s equipment. Thus, you would help us immensely in saving some money for better purchases, like upgrading overall defenses of the city.”

“If you become a Witch Hunter, you’ll train with magical girls, and learn how to kill a Witch properly. Cutting off its head is usually the easiest way, but there are others that may be a better choice depending on what Witch you’re facing. If you accept, you can come with me right now and we can begin.

The girl chuckles. “well, I’m sure I can convince Jax into getting you some nicer equipment. As for your old team, while I know they may be up for the challenge, especially you Roland, I think it’s best if you learn and then go teach them afterwards. As for the magic, well, you’re just a human, so you can’t really do anything with magic. It would just pass through you.”

“Uh, about that can’t touch magic thing?”

“What?”

You look down at your hands, and twiddle your thumbs. “Well, you see, when I killed the Witch, I kinda, sorta, felt some of its magic enter me.”

At this, the room falls silent, even Robin’s quiet whispering to a rapidly-getting-redder Ida gets cut off.

You look around. “What?”

“I think I should be asking you that. I can’t detect any magic from you whatsoever. And not in some special way either. You’re a completely average human to my eyes. So how on Earth are you absorbing magic?”

You shrug. “No clue. I felt it enter me, I can say that for sure. And I know you feel really, really powerful. But that’s it.”

The girl slowly shakes her head. “Alright, something’s wrong. Either you’re lying, I can’t detect magic for shit, or you’re secretly a magical girl or Witch.”

I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS

Before you can take another breath, the girl rushes across the room at you and slams you, hard.

You go rocketing back, flying over the surprised faces of your squadron before you eventually reach the other wall. Luckily, you get your feet below you in time, crouching up to absorb the impact.

"Shogo! Em-Gee, what are you doi-" before Roland can finish his sentence, the girl flicks her wrist at your friends and freezes them in place, only their eyes moving to follow you two.

Slowly, gravity takes over and you slide back down to the floor, still facing the girl. She smirks, and points her staff at you, firing a bright blast of light.

With some quick thinking you manage to dodge the blast, only to find more coming for you. At this point, you give up on the foolish notion of physics and jump up to the roof, attempting to run down the girl, but she just adjusts her aim to follow you.

Eventually, one lands on you, and you fall to the ground, groaning. It burns, almost like the feeling of the backblast of your shotgun. But you've still got one more thing...

The girl walks over, still smirking, and leans down to you, putting her finger up against your nose.

"Boop. Time for you to-"

"Wait one second!"

She freezes. "What."

You grin as you slide both your sunglasses and razor blade out from the hidden pockets in your suits forearms, using your left hand to open the blade against the girl's throat while putting on the glasses with the other.

"You see," settling the sunglasses on your nose, "I've still got a trick up my sleeve."

She stares at you dumbfoundedly.

You continue, the shit eating grin on your face widening. "Get it? Secret pockets? Trick up my sleeve?"

Slowly, ever so slowly, the shocked look on her face changes. Her lips slowly close, then spread again, into a half smile, then full smile, then wide open again as she starts laughing, not stopping for minutes.

Finally, finally, she stops.

>>
>>39414692

"Oh god. Fuck, alright, that's funny." She steps away from your blade, removing her own finger from your nose. "Okay, sorry about that, I had to check. If you were a Witch in disguise or something, god, can you imagine the ramifications?"

Before you can respond, she turns to your friends and removes the bond from them as well, letting them collapse to the floor now that there wasn't anything supporting them. Before they can do anything, she bows to both them and yourself. "Again, my apologies, I had to check if you were a witch. This was the best way."

You nod, rubbing your nose slightly. "Alright then, fine. So, you know I'm a human now? Or at least one with powers?"

"No, no, humans can't have powers. That's been established time and time again. You're definitely a magical girl."

Essentially,
>Why were you ever under the impression

Now back to the story!

“Uh, not to question your supreme intelligence and knowledge, but I’m very sure I am a guy, unless I read the wrong dictionary.”

The girl shakes her head. “While it isn’t active, there is a magical core inside of you. It’s dormant right now, and I don’t know any way of awakening it, but it means that you went through the process of becoming a magical girl, but never reached the final point that would push you over the edge, awaken your core, and turn you into a magical girl. Usually people just die if the process doesn’t end, but that’s not all. When you were jumping about just then, you were using magic. In fact, you were absorbing parts of my attack and using it for yourself.”

I interrupt. “How do you know all this, just from watching me?”

The girl shrugs. “Most magical girls can see the flows of magic, and how powerful other magical girls or witches are. I can’t read your own power, since it’s hidden behind the dormancy, but I can still see your use of power.”

“So how would I find out my power level?

“Back at the training area we have a piece of tech called the Sorceric Concealment Overturn and Undermine Tool. We’re working on portable ones, but until we get those we have to bring people back.”

You nod slowly. “Okay. I think I get it. I’m an unactivated magical girl. And I steal magic to use from others, rather than making my own.”

She smiles. “Exactly. Which, by the way, is a very useful talent. If you can keep it when you activate your core, then you could continue to build your strength using that method.

“So, we should be going. Any last things you want to do?”

You walk over to your teammates, slowly pulling them off one another. As you do this, you continue to talk to the girl.

"Hey, so what's your name? Since, you know, calling you 'the girl' doesn't work."

"Eliza is my name.:

"Alright then, Eliza. So about my magic core," you turn over Ida so she's facing the ceiling, and grab some water from your equipment bag, "if it ever activates, will I stay I guy? Or go full on magical girl?"

Eliza shrugs. "You're one of a kind, Shogo. I have no fucking clue. I think you'll probably become one, just because that's the usual way of doing things. But considering that you still haven't activated your core, even with what you've gone through? It may be that your core may never activate until you really, really, really fucking need it."

You finish up taking care of Ida, letting her drink the water while she stares off into the distance, and move onto Robin. "Alright, so I may or may not become a girl, and I definitely don't become one if I try to avoid activating my magical core."

"About that, yeah. Don't know why you wouldn't, though."

"I kinda like my dick. It's nice."

"I used to be a guy too, ya know."

You drop Robin to the ground, both bouncing her out of her shock ("Hey, watch it asshole!") and putting you into it instead. "You what?"

"I used to be a guy."

"And you were fine with changing?"

Eliza shrugs. "Obviously not, but when you're a fucking magical girl there aren't many downsides. Like, you don't have to worry about-"

You interrupt her...him...whatever. "Nope, not going there. I'll burn that bridge with extreme prejudice when I come to it."

You stand up again, pulling Roland and Robin with you. Ida has managed to crawl over to put her back against the wall, still cradling the water.

"So, guys, what do you think?"

Robin smiles. "Well, ignoring the fact that each and every time I said 'you hit like a woman' during training is justified, I'm fine with it."

(1/2)
>>
Roland agrees. “I think this is a great opportunity for you, and for us. Hell, we can say that we’re the first squadron to ever have a member graduate to being a Magical Girl. The other commanders are gonna be green with envy.”

“Come on, Shogo. Time to leave.” you turn to Eliza, who’s currently standing on a golden disc.

You start walking, only to hear behind you, “Good Luck!”

You turn to find Ida still sitting against the wall, but this time smiling at you, a thumbs up displayed on the hand not coddling the water bottle.

You smile and respond in kind, before hopping onto the disc, and preparing for your new life as a magical whatever-the-fuck.

Roland Matthews:
A hulking two and a half metres of a man, the only real stealthy thing about him is that he absorbs more light than he reflects. He's black, is what I'm saying.
Roland used to serve in the USMC before the Magical Girls revealed themselves to the world, and actually fought with them a few times before the official reveal. When they did come out, he volunteered to serve under them in the recently invented Magical Threat Response Force. The MTRTs are present in nearly every major city on Earth.

Roland's preferred method of battle relies on his armor and sword. His armor is heavily modified Legion Armor, with an exo-skeleton to help him move faster inside the monstrosity that turns his 2.5m frame into something even more scary.

The sword is his real treasure. Firearms are actually rather inefficient weapons for the MTRT forces, since each individual round needs to be enchanted before firing, and it takes a while even for a single magazine of ammunition to be enchanted. With bladed weapons, it's much easier, since they can be reused, and more enchanting efforts can go into it without it feeling like a waste. Roland's sword almost belongs some [s]Chinese cartoons[/s], a comically large piece of metal that he can only wield with the help of his Legion armor. With both, though, he simply walks into the enemy and swings. Don't piss off Roland.

There was a bright flash of light, and you stumbled off the disc, collapsing on the stone ground. Eliza lets the magic of the teleportation disc go, and bends over to pull you up.

“Come on, we’ve got to introduce you to everyone first,” she explains, turning to point at the Wow that’s a really big fucking castle and it’s on a floating island.

You realize that you’re actually on the island of Haioku, the base where the magical girls make their home. It floats above Lake Michigan, a few miles away from the shores of Chicago, and a mile away from the ground itself. Even with your much less sensitive magic sense, you can feel the power of the spells keeping this thing aloft. You even feel something similar to the power the Witch you killed expended, yet condensed into a single form.

>EVERYTHING

"So, Eliza, before we get started, can I just ask a few questions? Like, how the hell is this thing floating, when do I get a change of fresh clothes that actually fit me since it's just dawned on me that I may very well be the only guy aboard this monstrosity, and when do I get to start training?"

Eliza listens patiently, and after you finish she begins to answer. Turns out that magical cores are in everything except humans, yet most are dormant. You can collect them and use them to store energy. Yet, when humans interact with a core, there's a reaction that causes the core to not just store energy, but produce it as well. Using that, you can turn on other cores that you collect from elsewhere, and use them as energy sources. Right now, the magic powering the island are several Witch cores with several hundred animal cores as a battery serving to keep the magic bound on the Island going.

"About the other issues, we can definitely find you clothes," she reassures you, "but not yet as we do want to get these introductions done."

You follow Eliza inside the castle, trying to ignore the fact that you drain energy from magic and you could drain energy from the island and you could go crashing towards the lake without ever having held hands with someone you love-

Once you're inside, you take a breath and pretend you're back on land.

Of course, now you're facing an entire hall full of magical girls. Some are eating at long tables, others flying around near the rafters, more sitting on the ground and practicing their magics. The only real thing that any of them have in common is that they're all looking at you,

Eliza coughs. "Ladies, this is Akane Shogo. You may know him as the mortal who killed the Witch. He'll be with us for a while, since it turns out that he may be a magical girl."

She turns to you, and you turn back to the hall.

Yikes, as if harems weren't a destructive enough force as it were.
>>
>>39416381
So powerful that it actually enters real life. Babes are attracted to you like flies to shit, yet much like shit you can't seem to do anything else.

I'm so based that CATS said I belong to them.

>Generic polite greeting is a go.

"Uh, hi everyone! I'm Akane Shogo, and I'll be your coworker for a bit. It's nice to meet you all, and I look forward to working with you all. Thanks for having me."

You finish, leaving a small moment of awkward silence where you shift back and forth a bit, until a sprinkling of laughter comes from not too far away from where you stand.

It appears one of the magical girls is really finding the situation funny.

"Oh, god, that's fucking hilarious Eliza. A bit far, though, to bring a guy just for the sake of a joke."

Eliza frowns. "This is no joke, Marie. Shogo will be joining us from today to train to fight witches."

Marie stands from her place, and confidently hops over to where you are, covering the distance easily. She walks right up to you, and pushes you backwards.

"Listen, boy. We are magical girls. *Girls*. Not boys. You can go back to pretending that you're the one in control of the world, while the ladies do the real work, okay sweetie?

" I don't have much experience with dating but shouldn't we have dinner and a movie before you cop a feel?"

Or some other smart ass comment.
>>
>>39416521
"So, uh, Marie, right? Did you used to be a guy too?"
>>
>>39416521

"So, uh, Marie, I don't really have too much experience with dating, but don't you have to take me to dinner and a movie before you try to cop a feel?"

Marie's face starts to grow red, though less embarrassment-red and more I'll-kill-you-right-fucking-here-and-now-red.

"Plus, were you once a guy too? Because, Eliza is, and I'm sure more are.:

Marie spits through her teeth, "you ool. Those who got changed were lucky to be granted more than the pathetic hollow life that you men live. Eliza may once have been like you, but she realizes now that true strength only lies with women."

She slowly draws back her fist, energy starting to gather around it, crackling like lighting. "And now I'm going to punish you for your insolence.

Five or so minutes Figure out what you want most. Either way, you've made the roll back above, so figure out how you can live up to that roll.

Just as Marie's fist of lightning condenses into a tight mesh, she punches you, driving her fist as far as she can into your body.

Of course, by the point she's actually made the punch, you've already dodged to the side. Now out of the way of the punch, you almost take your time in grabbing her fist, and pulling her past you. You feel the electricity in you now, a power that seems sharp and vicious, but you manage to redirect it from your right hand to your left, just as you finish pulling Marie and now push her further, letting the electricity arc across to the surprised magical girl.

---

"Will we need a mop?" you ask.

Marie seems alive, barely. You know that logically the only thing that can realy end any magical girl is getting their heads cut off, so it seems weird that you managed to so easily break her.

"Not really the introduction I had planned," Eliza mutters, "but at least you made an impact. Good job."

"Thanks, Eliza. So what now?"

She waves her hand. "get some rest. You've been up since, well, when did you start that raid on the source?

You think of the number. "A day, yeah. Fair enough, I feel ready for some sleep."

She guides you through the castle util you come to a small door. Eliza indicates it. "You'll be sleeping here for now. There's a form of pecking order about who gets the biggest room. Since you're last, then you get this one.

"Nah, that's fine," you say, peering in. Small, sure, but the bed looks pretty damn comfortable.

"I' think I'll be just fine."

>New Skill! Redirection! You can now absorb and send enemies' attacks right back at them! This takes some luck, though, depending on what they;re throwing at ya!

Thank you so much for being here for my first thread. I have a Twiiter, @ArtemisQM. I'm really fucking tired, so can someone else please archive the thread? I'd appreciate it.
