Currently, Atlas forces were battling with Dahl forces in a full blown corp war over what you knew to be a hidden Belkan Vault. Occasionally you'd be sent out to intercept a Dahl or Hyperion flight, but otherwise you were not sent out to do any operations at the actual Vault. Obviously Irons wanted to keep his find restricted to Atlas only. You couldn't blame him, though. Corporations were going to be corporations.Of course, this left you with a lot of free time. If there was a silver lining to this, it was that Irons was too busy with the current operation to pay much attention to your activities. With you and your squadron, maybe some help from Jaeger, you could probably go check out the other Vault your Uncle told you about without too many questions being asked. However, you weren't sure if you could pull it off without Samantha's approval. You didn't really know how involved she was with Irons' schemes, though she could be getting kept out of the loop just as much as you were.>Talk to Samantha about this.>Keep Samantha out of this.>Other

>>39412608>Again, I think you guys are making mountains out of molehills about the roll system, and frankly speaking, you guys have been doing pretty well so far. I'll consider making changes if it becomes an endemic problem, but so far I don't think it is. You decide that it's time to tell Samantha what you know about the Vaults, assuming she doesn't know about them already. You head over to the building set aside for Artemis operations, where Samantha's office is located."Hey, Karla, can I help you?" Samantha asks, pretending to look busy despite the fact her desk as actually completely clear of paperwork."Possibly." You say as you sit down across from your boss. "Samantha, have you heard of anything called a Vault?""A what?" Samantha frowns. "Like, a bank vault?"Huh, so it looked like she really didn't know. At least you were safe in knowing she wasn't in league with Irons. However, even if that was the case, you still wondered whether telling her was the best course of action. A question: i just ordered a ps2. i'm going to be getting 3, 4, 5, and 0, but i'm not sure about 3. I understand that there are two versions, Japanese and English, and that the English version has plot and content cut from it. However, i discovered this.http://projectnemo.net/What do? Also, does anyone know any skin mods for any of the games, or mods period? Or if mods are even possible?(Is it possible to burn roms to cds to play the games from emulator files?)
>>39413302Noice mudhen, another early art drop is always good.
>>39413161>I'll consider making changes if it becomes an endemic problem, but so far I don't think it is.>Think's overriding crit's on d10 is good... it's already a goddamned problem, how many fucking ID checks have we failed because of this?
>>39413161>>Tell her everything
>>39413322Modify your PS2.And then do the translation patch for 3.Otherwise, just play JP3.
>>39413322for AC 03 JP version...for combat alone you don't really need to understand the plot. I still suggest get original version.
>>39413312>>39413337you lot need to cool off.We also aced the damn ID test to figure out the identity of our little squire.

>>39413322Project NEMO is a US fan attempt to completely translate AC3 JP's subtitles into EnglishOnce its done, they should release a patched version of AC3JP with said subtitles online, which unfortunately restricts you to an emulator if you want to play itAnd no, you can't mod the gamesThey're console-only, which killed any hope of modding them long before it could ariseBesides, AC is so niche nobody would want to>>39413302Yo MudhenHow you doin?
>>39413368Not to mention the few times The Snow actually comes...
>>39413161>if it becomes an endemic problem, but so far I don't think it is.It already is Merc, we have a 30% chance to just fail with nothing impacting that, it doesn't matter how skilled we are, what previous feats we've done, whether we've performed such a move previously successfully or anything, we have a flat 30% chance of our best roll being cancelled out on a d10, if you can't see the problem in that then you need new glasses and need to rethink the reasoning and motive behind your systems because they just seem to be "have dice for dices sakes"
>>39413337Here's a better question, how many of those failures didn't involve 1s and 10s?The answer is most of them
>>39413368yeah, one pass against how many failures?no seriously, I'm genuinely curious and would like to see the stats of our rolls
I dont know how to mod my PS2. What does this entail?Do i need to play AC3 to get the full experience? Or are 4, 5, and 0 enough? (Zero does play on the ps2, right?)
>>39413337How many have we failed without this? Way more. We really only got screwed on one in recent memory. If you want to go back into the archives and prove me wrong, go for it. But as far as I remember after binging, it was really only just bad luck last like 2 threads.>>39413401This.
>some faggot gets asspained about d20s in Mercs 2030>some other faggot gets asspained about d10s in Ace CombatWhat a coincidence!
>>39413161Why won't you implement an Ace Points system in this like you did in CIMQ? It makes even less sense to not have one when using the lower dice ranges in this quest.I seriously do not understand why you think this way.
>>39413437Shut up already.
>>39413413I don't know if you can mod a PS2, at least not in the way you talk aboutMaybe performance mods, but that's itAC04, 5, and Zero are all PS2 gamesAC3 can run on PS2 thanks to the backwards compatibility, but its set 30 years after 5, the latest PS2 game chronologicallyIt's a good experience, but it doesn't tie in to 04, 5, and Zero

>>39413419Wind blows, rain falls, the spergs... bitch about the dice.All... is as it should... be.
>>39413413Getting a nice friend to copy a softmod to your memory card, or opening your PS2 up and soldering in a modchip. Softmod is recommended by everyone and their mother. No, you don't really -need- 3, it's the last in the timeline, so if doesn't affect anything else. 4, 5, and 0 are all normal PS2 titles.>>39413462Softmods and stuff for backups and homebrew. And piracy, but I'm sure no one does that. Totally.I totally didn't pirate Zero.
And to be clear, 6 is not necessary?
>>39413486Well, if you have a 360, it's alright. Better than Assault Horizon. Not completely necessary, but still good enough.
>>39413413You don't really need to play AC3. It's a cyberpunk story (megacorps, AIs, etc) set way into the future of Strangereal. 4, 5, and 0 are the 'must plays'. 5 and 0 especially, they have intertwining stories. 4 is separate.
>>39413502Anything is better than Asshor. HAWX is better than that abortion.
>>39413413Story-wise? 4 to Zero are enough.Three is not really connected to other game except you checking the background info on wiki.Three is still a good experience tho.saving Rena and become bro with Erich is satisfyingAnd to anon who want Magical Amy... do you want traditional Magical Girl outfit (like madoka or CCS or maybe precure) or something like Symphogear?
>>39413486Eh, it's part of the Strangereal continuityJust be ready to GO DANCE WITH THE ANGELS MISTERStill better than GUTS DAMN SHIT MARKOV

>>39413161"Erm, not exactly." You sigh. And you tell her everything Uncle told you. About the Belkan contingency plans when it became clear they would lose the Belkan War, the existence of the Vaults, as well as One Belka's access and the corps' knowledge of them. Samantha, to her credit, stays quiet during the whole time you talk, occasionally frowning and nodding, as pieces begin to click together in her head. She finally speaks once you finish."So, that makes Irons' recent decisions make a little more sense." She scowls. "I figured he was hiding something from me. Guess he didn't want us getting a cut of the find.""Can't you do something about it?" You ask."What can I do? He's our employer. It's perfectly within his right to conceal information from us or exclude us from operations." Samantha sighs. "But what interests me is this second Vault you mentioned. Nobody else knows about it?""Not to my knowledge." You shake your head. "Me and Lara did a quick flyby earlier. Didn't see any activity around it.""Hmm, then I think we can get in, loot the place, and get out before Irons notices." Samantha nods. "Yeah, it might work...">It would make for a good haul.>I think we're better off destroying it.>Other

You and your squadmates wait topside until you hear Jager bellow "Clear!"You, Lara, Amy, and Lilian drop down the hatch, with some of Jager's squad taking up the rear. You all head down what seems to be a very, VERY long staircase, until you come to a dark, but cavernous room."Can you see anything?" Lara whispers."No, because it's freaking pitch black!" Amy hisses."Why are you all talking so low?" Lilian shakes her head as she turns on a flashlight. "And none of you were prepared for this?""Well, I was just tagging along with the guy who knows what he's doing." You put a hand on Jager's shoulder."To my right." Tarin grunts."Oh, sorry." You hear a voice yell as the sound of a switch is flipped. It's slow at first, but floodlights begin to turn on in sequence, blinding you as they do. It takes a few moments for you eyes to adjust and you're left in awe as you find yourself in what looks to be a massive warehouse filled with crates."We're gonna need a bigger helo." However, you're a bit disheartened to see that most of the parts stored here seemed to be for other, more common planes, like Flankers and Berkuts. Nothing that looked to be tooled to the specific needs of the Morgan, unfortunately enough. However, you did also find where they were keeping a large stockpile of supplies, like field rations. You see Lara reach into an opened crate and pull out a box."Ew, don't tell me you're gonna actually EAT one of those?" Amy recoils in disgust."Why not? Should still be good, and I'm pretty hungry." Lara shrugs."Well, they are designed to last for a long period..." Lilian points out."Still think it's disgusting." Amy sticks her tongue out."Well then you can't have any!" Lara sticks her tongue out in retaliation before taking out what looks to be a energy bar and taking a bit out of it.""Holy shit!" Lara's eye widen as she chews on the bar. "It's fucking GOOD.""Like, how good?" You raise an eyebrow."Like, tastes like actual food good!" Lara hands you the bar. "Try it!"You reluctantly nibble at the bar, and are extremely surprised that it tastes like steak. Good steak."Whaaaaaaaat the fuck?!" You blink."Fucking Belkan space magic!" Lara insists. "OH THOSE BASTARDS HAVE GONE TOOOOOOOOO FAR!" Amy bellows when she pulls out a meal pack and takes a bit for herself. "Truly, their most terrifying superweapon of all!" Lilian adds. Your squadmates each grab a crowbar as well and help you pry the third crate open. Inside, you find what looks to be a massive missile."What... what is it?" Amy gasps."According to this, it's called Trinity." Lilian mumbles as she picks up a dusty manual stowed away with the weapon. "A V-type nuclear weapon designed to be able to be fired from a fighter-sized plane.""W-what?!" You all glance at the ominous orange missile."Y-you know." Amy gulps. "R&D would practically give you anything to get their hands on that..."You wonder how Jager's men could have missed this. Then again, it was a pretty nondescript designation, and you doubted Jager's guys knew what to be looking for.>NOTE: Taking Trinity will give you access to it as a unique special weapon! But do so at your own risk...>We'll take it with us.>Nobody needs to know about this.>Other
>>39417723>>Nobody needs to know about this.Use it to blow up the Vault

>>39417723>We'll take it with us.Come on, what's the worst that could happen?
No.Fucking.Nukes.We're not a goddamn stereotype.
Uhh...I'm sorry, but can someone explain to me what's so dangerous about this thing? Absolutely not doubting you guys, just curious. I mean hell, even Merc said don't make this choice lightly...

>>39417723>>39417708I swear if we get out of this Vault with our loot, we should take a few crates of rations so we can reverse engineer them for our own people. It will revolutionize the stomachs of our foes! No more, will the lowly grunt of Jager's Demons will cry out in pain at the thought of eating old rations!
>>39417759A legacy of AC AH. It's basically a daisy cutter in the game, but in missile form
>>39417723>"A V-type nuclear weapon designed to be able to be fired from a fighter-sized plane.">>39417759Here.Its a fucking tac nuke.
>>39417759>Uhh...I'm sorry, but can someone explain to me what's so dangerous about this thing?Nuclear weapons. Do I really need to explain more?
>>39417759It's the plot weapon of AC:AH, a NOTNUKE anti ground sp weapon.Like mpfb on roids.
>>39417768And like everything else about AC:AH, it deserves to be buried and forgotten.
A horrifying weapon; once equipped, your favorite game series opens it's newest game with a scripted turret gun section.
>>39417774Though, It's probably our only chance to pop our nuclear virginity. On the other hand, a detonation of a nuclear weapon on the Belkan Border would start another warOn the other other hand, if shit like chemical and bio weapons are released later, a nuclear cleansing is the best way to sterilize an area and prevent the spread.
>>39417775>mpfbI meant FAEB.>>39417723>We'll take it with usYolo.not like we'll get killed or something
>>39417794>Though, It's probably our only chance to pop our nuclear virginity.I don't know about you, but I like my nuclear virginity.
>>39417791okay i am chuckled.>>39417794Anyone wielding nuke is bound to be doomed in Strangereal.

>>39417723>Nobody needs to know about this.NOPE!
Not going to vote on this one because I don't really care what outcome we get, but after we tried to destroy that vault the 2 PMCs were fighting over + our promise to our uncle, looting a NUCLEAR WEAPON for personal use is the most out of character thing Karla could do at this point.
>>39417768>>39417773>>39417774>>39417775Yikes. This thing is no joke, then. Thanks for the heads up.
Wait...if two of them are missing......Awwww fuck, shit's gonna get realer than real.
>>39417723"We'll leave it here. Nobody needs to know about this." You say grimly as you look the rest of your squad. They all look at you and then each other and nod in agreement. You all knew the danger V weapons posed, especially in the aftermath of the most recent Circum-Pacific War, where Osea was nearly the victim of a mass nuclear attack. This was one dirty secret that deserved to stay buried."Let's get out of here." You sigh. When the four of you return to the surface, you can see it was a flurry of activity as Jager's men were loading the last of the looted crates into the waiting helos."We need you get into the air ASAP!" Jager yells when he sees you. "Loki's picked up movement to our north! Possible hostiles!""Got it!" You dash to your Eagle while your squadmates head to their own respective planes. You clamber into the cockpit and go through the shortened takeoff checklist. "Loki, do you read? Do you have any idea what's headed for us?""Drones just confirmed a large armored and aerial force is incoming. Most likely OB." Loki warns. "We're still loading the helos, and even then, we'll be slowed down from all the weight." Jager points out. "We'll need you to hold them off if we have any hope of successfully disengaging.""Got it. We'll keep them off you." You say as your Eagle pulls itself into the air. "Wild Cards, let's get them.">And that's all for tonight! As always, next thread is next week. Don't forget HEIST on Saturday!>Unfortunately, I won't be able to run PJ Witches this Sunday. I'll probably reschedule to Tuesday afternoon, instead, so stay tuned!
>>39417854Oh gee another escort mission. Thanks for the thread merc.
>>39417854Thanks for the run, Merc. See you next time.
I wonder what we would've found if we checked out 'weapons' or 'vehicles'.

>>39417881>Belkan Superscience Tanks?Well...
>>39417881Don't worry, anon. We WILL find those pilot suits. We'll have enough of them to share with the whole squadron!
>>39417854thanks for running Merc!>>39417881>Here's hoping the anons find their skintight flightsuits.you're not the only one...>>39417914we'll need superplanes for each of them as well then.
>>39417881>>39417914>>39417927Makes you wonder what Atlas found in their MYSTERY BOX?>inb4 we find the Wonder Weapons that make smaller, but more important changes while Atlas gets the fuck huge warmachines that are rather resource heavy.
Where did Belka acquire the blueprints for future weapons? they have a good R&D?
>>39417962Well when you're losing a war, you sorta realize you need an Unconventional Solution to a Conventional Problem that you cannot solve conventionally due to not having the resources. So you kinda just throw ideas at the wall and see what sticks, usually in desperation.Hence you see all those Nazi Wonder Weapons like the rotor jet thingy like >>39413783.
>>39417962>they have a good R&D?anon...belka EQUALS SUPERWEAPONS
>>39417962Belka is literally Strangereal's Nazi Germany, minus the whole holocaust thing.
