>>39392928 (OP)

When we last left our newly hatched dragon we spent our first day waking up in a forest with no idea where your mother was, and after eating our eggshell discovered the egg nappers, stole all the things they had on them, befriended their mistreated dog, and killed them. But not before the one in the raggedy clothes broke our dogs back left leg and pulled a gun on you. You only later realized upon trying to fly did he succeeded in shooting a hole in one of your wings before being melted by your acid breath. We spent the night watching over our dog as he slept with a splint on his broken leg.

Current Hoard:
>Bottle of wine
>three cups made of dragon eggshell
>Regular steel sword
>Regular humanoid steel helmet
>Wooden Chest with key and lock
>Three books you don't know how to read yet
>Vial of bubbling liquid of constantly shifting color
>Torn up red cloth tent
>tattered bed roll
>Crystal ball
>ink well and quill
>50 gold pieces in a coin purse
>A map of the surrounding area

During the night as you stood watch over the dog you took the liberty to devour the flesh of the two victims you have that have flesh. During the night you experienced terrible growing pains as you experienced your first growth spurt. Instead of your head coming to the average man's hip you now reach the average man's shoulder.

As the morning sun climbs over head you realize that no one has given you a name yet. You can't very well call yourself The Hatchling forever now can you? Before we start the day we should decide, what is our name?

Well if anyone has a good idea it could be fine but i think dragons should have long and hard to pronounce names, and i can't think of anything good.

You decide waiting for now to name yourself, perhaps a good one will come to you.

Now comes the next order of business, we have a map leading to the nearby mountain with a red x through it, or leading to the road that goes to the nearest town. We also have our dog who seems to respond to Muttely well enough. We have no food to feed him since we devoured the human flesh from the bones nor do we have any medicine to heal his broken leg any faster. For the moment though he seems content to sleep in the shade of the trees near your small hoard.

Muttely hasn't eaten anything since you've met him, and there was no food at the egg nappers camp so likely hasn't anything the day you found him either. You search through the forest to see if you find anything you both could eat.

>1-5 you find nothing

Well at least there isn't a lot of them, it's three bandits, one with a sword, another with a club, and an archer. They haven't spotted you yet. They seem to busy counting the coin from their latest exploit around the camp fire. The camp consist of three fur skin tents with accompanying fur bed rolls, a chest, some fish hanging on a line, likely salted and drying, and an axe in a stump. How should we approach?

Ernand scratches his head and admits he can't actually read, but he does know letters and numbers, you need to know how to spell different types of currency and how much you want of it when writing a ransom after all. He spends the next few hours teaching you all the letters and numbers, what they mean, and how they sound. You take to it immediately, in fact you wish it was more challenging, still with this you know enough that given time you can probably teach yourself to read eventually.

It is now the middle of the after noon. What shall we do?

(Again, I'll say when I need a roll)

>>Command minion to find new lair

It's obvious hanging out in the woods is poor place to store your treasures, lest you leave them exposed to the elements. You decide to send Ernand on a mission to secure you a new lair. You look at the map, there's two locations that will provide different things and have their own challenges, which one should he be sent to?

(Alright last post of the night for me, I might do another continuation thread if there's enough support for it)
>Investigate nearby town

After commanding your minions to search the mountains for a new lair and to protect your hoard you head out to the road and see if you can investigate the town and hopefully get some resources and answers. When you arrive there appears to a green haze above the air of the town. When you get closer you see peasants constructing broken buildings with gaping holes in them. A man is hauling a wagon of rotted flesh and scales. As you sneak around you stop when you reach the center of town where the destruction of town. Knights guard the whole area as butchers hack away at the flesh of a giant dead green dragon skeleton.
