It’s not so much sneaking as a quick dash down the hallway before the guards even realize what’s happening. You’re halfway down the hallway before one of them even turns your way and Nem is closer to him by a few steps, he barely gets out a cry of surprise before she leaps on him, one hand keeping his rifle against his body while the other buries the knife in his throat. Morrigan’s isn’t as clean, there’s a bit of a struggle but the man dies just the same. Cath doesn’t even bother to use her knife, her guy is smaller and she simply checks him into the wall with a thud and the snap of his neck as her arm rams it against the wall. Your guy is the one with the most time to react, but he’s still trying to get his weapon to bear as you jam your knife into his gut and his eyes bulge in pain. You withdraw the knife and then jam it through his heart, his last breath coming out in a pained gasp.

You look up to see everyone else wiping their knives off, Cath letting hers slide down the wall limply, the four guards dead with barely a fuss.

You see Morrigan’s face twist in question, but she hefts her rifle as does Nem with her shotgun. The woman twists open the lock with a loud clunk and knocks on it twice, two corresponding thunks coming from the opposite side as the other lock twists open and the door is pushed outwards towards you. There are two very surprised looking men on the other side of the door, their looks quickly wiped away by a shotgun blast and a rifle shot. The other two are no better off, dying before they can move.

Morrigan and Nem look down the hall, there are more than a dozen doors, all of them locked shut.

The woman looks at the doors and then back at Morrigan.

“They’re all full…” she says her eyes tightening as she leans down to pull keys off of one of the guards, “They need let out.”

Morrigan glances back to you. Nem shakes her head no, Cath and Bell both nod yes. Sarah pauses, but shakes her head no. Morrigan’s eyes land on you, but you aren’t sure why, you don’t know what’s going on.

You remember the ride back on the truck and how half the girls didn’t seem to want you near them, a few more were terrified of you and the rest seemed to want to hurt you for some reason. You think that this is something like that.

“I’ll go guard the door,” you say, “Someone should guard the door.”

“That’s…that’s a good idea Billy,” says Morrigan, “You go watch the door.”

You nod, hefting your rifle as the doors continue to be opened by Cath and Nem. Sarah is by the girls already let out, trying to help them. Bellona comes up beside you at the door.

“You did the right thing,” she says as you watch the hallway together, “Girls like that, they don’t want to see a man around, not for a long time.” She pauses. “Some don’t ever get over it.”

You nod, wondering why she sounds so sad from that.

Nearly an hour later the first of Mars’ men shows up, Koko and her people having hung the flag up earlier. You continue to watch the door with Bellona until further relieved, a special team of other girls coming up to take them off of your hands.

From my understanding, I thought the the main objective to raise hell. Seems like we killed some of them and then hid in the building.

I also felt like this mission should have lasted another thread. We had secured the building, but then we probably needed to hold it off for the hour it took mars to show up.

idk, this town felt like a major plot point and I feel we skimmed over this main battle for it.

Your main objective was to cause a distraction, not directly raise hell.

You accomplished this with the massive crowd in front of the hospital. As for holding out, there wasn't a whole lot to hold out against. Their forces weren't all that big and were thrown against Mars for the most part.
