The puppy happily yips and tries to climb up Ellie's pants when they go back to house that night.

"Aww you were lonely, Stella?" -the elfgirl picks it up and rubs her face against the puppy's
"I think she was just hungry" -says Cedric as he takes the puppy and carries it off to the kitchen
"Ah, I'm hungry too, would you feed me if I bark?"
"Sure" -says he with a laugh- "But I'm going to prepare dinner anyway. Do you want anything special?"
"How about that meat roll in the fridge?"
"Alright"

She follows him into the kitchen to watch him cook while Stella nibbles away at her bowl on the floor.

"It will be a little still before it's done. Why don't you take Stella out for a walk once she's done eating?"

A few minutes later, Ellie was walking Stella around the block, dressed in casual clothes with short sleeves.

The neighbors were used to the elf already, but seeing someone in short sleeves in the middle of a (light) rain still surprised them.

Stella seemed to be having fun, rubbing around under the rain to the edge of her leash, and barking at glass-wearing or hat-wearing people.

'Well, as long as she doesn't know...' -he thought while he pulled out Ellie's favorite sace from its hiding spot behind the pea cans on the top shelf.

He was under the impression that she was under the impression he was the one preparing her favorite sauce, and neither one of them was willing to disappoint the other.

'I don't really see a problem with a puppy doing its business on the grass, but... ' -she was thinking as she dropped the poop bag into a trash can on her way back.

The phone run out loud at some point during the night, just late enough to be called early. It was particularly harsh since he actually had one of those old heavy dial-disc phones in his room (it had to be adapted to work with modern phonelines, but it was his family phone and he wasnt going to just dump it, dammit!) and its alarm was mercilessly loud.

"Uhnn... what is that monstruous noise..." -she said in elven as she rested her head on his chest
"It's just the phone, hold on..." -he let go of her soft back to reach out for the phone.- "Yes?"

Someone hung up

"Wrong, I guess?" -he said as he returned his hand to her back, enjoying the feeling of her warm, soft body under his fingers.

*sigh* "Here" -he reaches for her police hat from the lobby's hat rack, and hands it to her after donning his own and walking into the kitchen.

Finally, he reaches for the door's knob and pulls it open as he lifts his gun towards a surprised face and Ellie shoots her stun gun.

Stella jumps down and sinks a inch or so into the muddy ground, but just barely manages to still run around regardless.

"Alright, you can use my rod, and I'll use dad's" -says Cedric while setting up the worms on the hook for Ellie
"Alright"

"So, are you good at fishing?" -says Wolfric as he casts the line into the recently untawing lake
"Not as good as I am hunting"
"Oh! in that case we should go hunting some day! I assume you have the whole bow and arrow thing?"
"But I really want to try a rifle!" -says Ellie
"Fair enough"

They sit on a rock (Wolfric) or a folding chair (Ellie), or just stand (Cedric) while waiting for the fish to bite.

They don't actually have to wait long. The fish are quite hungry, and eagerly bite into their lines, filling up the bucket in almost no time.

"The ice is too weak to skate, right?" -asks Ellie
"On this side of the lake, yes, we could try the westdern side since it takes longer to thaw out, but it could be a little dangerous..."
"Ah, no, thankyou. Fishing is fun on its own. Besides, like I said, I'm not that goof a fisher so its new and fresh to me"
"Alright"

"You are good at hunting, however, right? so you know how to gut and clean animals. I doubt seeing some fish guts will bother you?"

After having a nice morning by the lakeside with a couple of bottles of wine, grilling the fish, and showing Ellie the brothers fishing holes, they eventually make it back into town.

Wolfric buys a small camera for Ellie's computer and installs it, then makes sure everything is working, and tries to get a hold of their father through it.

Currently, however, mister Baldric is not at home, so that will have to wait until later that day.
