General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes or always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just a 1d100. Sometimes you can get a modifier to make a move more/less accurate, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever!

Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

“Were going to practice Toxic,“ you inform Vance.

He hesitates. “You’re not going to use me, are you?”

You laugh. “Of course not. But, just in case, do you have an anti-venom ready?”

He digs into his bag and shows a small bottle. “I figured it would be a good idea to have one prepared ahead of time, since you always end up poisoned.” He tosses you the bottle.

“Well, I can’t argue that.” You place it down somewhere easily visible and accessible. “For today’s training, we’re going to work on your control. You’ll hit that tree there, Vlad here will use Toxic on a branch, and you’re going to pay close attention and time your hits to do as much damage as you think Toxic is doing.”

He looks confused. “How am I supposed to know how much damage Toxic is doing to a branch?”

You throw your hands up. “I told you! By paying attention. You had that guy back in Lace Point, except you stopped paying attention.”

He settles into a fighting position. “Yeah. That makes sense.”

You have Vlad practice Toxic a few times. Because of his typing and already knowing a poison type move, he picks up the basics quickly.

Vance jabs the tree. “I don’t know what to do. I don’t hate Clair, but what she did made such a huge impact on my life. I don’t know if I can ever trust her again.”

>He should tell her he doesn’t hate her. She needs to hear that
>You don’t blame him, but she’s sorry

“You should tell her that you don’t hate her. I think she needs to hear that.”

He hits the tree a little harder than he’s supposed to. “You mean she hasn’t been snooping in my head?”

You shrug. “I don’t think so, no. She feels terrible about it. It’s something that’s bothered her since it happened.”

He puts the tree again, hard. “Well I guess it’s all better, then.”

“I don’t blame you for being mad. You have every right. But she was ready to just disappear. You don’t have to trust her or like her, but just letting her know you don’t hate her could go a long way.”

He overcompensates and hits too softly this time. “A long way to what? How can we go anywhere if I can’t trust her?”

“Trust comes with time.” You see Vlad trying to use Toxic on a second branch now that the first one is falling apart. “You two can get passed this. It will just take awhile.”

“Maybe you’re right,” Vance stops and looks at you. “Why are you doing so much to stick up for her anyway?”

You slack your shoulders and give a blank stare. “Why wouldn't I, Vance? Clair is perfect. After a nice long talk she convinced me that my life would be meaningless without her.” You make sure to use a mechanical, monotone voice.

He freezes up and stares at you. You can’t help but show a tiny smirk, and he relaxes and rolls his eyes before turning away. “Too soon.”

“Sorry,” you feel a little embarrassed to have that backfire. “But to answer your question, I’d do it for any of my friends.”

He goes back to hitting the tree. “Probably, but this seems to mean a lot more to you than just doing something for a friend.”

You signal Vlad to try again, then turn your attention back to Vance. “It would break my heart to see the group split up. And...well, I guess I can sympathize with screwing up as a kid. I remember the kind of person I used to be, and can imagine the kind of stuff I'd do if I had Clair's power. She used it for something bad like this once and feels like a literal monster. If I had it during the wrong time in my life, I’d be...I wouldn’t be a good person."

He stops. “I never really thought of it that way. I guess something like that would be pretty tempting. People tell white lies all the time. I guess it could be tempting if you could just convince someone to just believe whatever you want them to.” He sighs. “I didn’t say anything, but the guards for the royal family offered me a job.”

Your heart drops. “But you’re not going to do that now, right?”

He glances at you quickly before turning back to his training. “I don't know. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything here except making things awkward now.”

You hug him. Just the prospect of having a friend leave gives you a small lump in our throat.

“I can't really say what would be right for you to do. I'm sure we'd all miss you if you did. Whatever you do, I hope you know I’ll support you. But, I don't think you should go yet at least. Not before you've calmed down and then talked with Clair first. Otherwise you're just running away. I've never had good luck with running away myself.”

He looks down at you and hugs back. “Hey now. I didn’t say I’d take it. Just that I was thinking about it.” His powerful arms cover your back.

“Just don't do anything without thinking it through thoroughly, and talking it over with Jeanine.”

You both share a hug for a good long while before Vlad flies down, impatiently.

“I think that’s enough for today,” Vance says. “Vlad seems to have Toxic down.”

You compose yourself. “Yeah. You did good too. If you ever want a different bodyguard job, I’ll hire you.”

He laughs. You were serious.

Both of you make it back to the camp. You scarf down a quick breakfast and pack everything up.

Tim and Erin come up with some pads. “Kat, did you see last nights numbers? The second airing was insane! It must have been word of mouth.”

They toss out some ratings numbers that don’t mean anything to you, but their tone says it’s good. “So what does this mean?”

They both look at you. “It means you’re going to be really, really famous.”

“Come on, let’s cut through the woods” You get your friends all ready to go. You want to see what wild Pokemon you’ll encounter.

Everyone and the camera crew pack up. You catch a quick glimpse of Meloetta and Fennekin before they dash off into the bushes. How did Fennekin even follow?

Well, you’re not complaining. You lead the group through the brush. It’s a lot wetter here. You remember that the area around Faeden is jungle, so that makes sense. It’s giving off a jungle vibe as you get closer.

Your thoughts are interrupted when a small ball of flame shoots in front of you. You stop and see a red monkey looking Pokemon. It beats it’s chest.

You pull up your Pokedex. "Pot'n'Pansear, the Height and Temp worker Pokemon. "Very intelligent, it roasts berries before eating them. The fire within the tuft on its head can reach 600 degrees far in height."

"Fahrenheit," Robin corrects. You feel like that's just one of many things wrong with what your Pokedex said.

The monkey throws another ember at you and yells.

You make a face at it. It makes one back.

Cheeky little guy. You put your hips. “Vance, Sneasel might like this one.”

“Yeah. I think that’s a good match.” He takes out his Pokeball. “Go Sneasel!”

Vance battles the Pokemon with Sneasel. He has a type advantage, but Sneasel can really move.

They dash through the trees. Ice and Fire moves fly all around. As they battle on, you notice a few more monkey Pokemon showing up. Grass types and water types on top of the fire types.

Sneasel takes out his foe and lands on a nearby branch, triumphant.

There are about a half dozen of those other Pokemon now. They range from mad to amused to scared. Most of them seem to want to keep you from going in your particular direction.

We should inform the others of our suspicion regarding something that is important to the Pan's being further down our chosen path.
Mainly done for the sake of the Cameras.

While I assume we could take on the Pan's, I dislike the idea that they are merely protecting something and we leave it unprotected by battling them all.
for all we know, it could be their nests and they are just protecting their Poke-eggs.

You take out the flute and play. It’s a soft, calming song. It’s not amazing, but it’s pretty good and keeps the wild Pokemon from fighting any more. They hang around on nearby branches, but generally don’t disturb your or your friends.

Meloetta floats by. She’s about to take over the tune when you hear a loud thumping. The jungle seems to shake as more and more of it builds up. All sorts of the small Pokemon scatter away or over you as the thumping approaches. You notice that several seem to be carrying berries and big wavy leaves.

You take a step back when suddenly a humongous ape Pokemon comes out of the bushes. It’s picking it’s nose and looking at your friends with contempt. It yells out, and several more just like it come from the bushes.

The lead one makes a gesture to Erin, like he wants her to come forward.

“No way! You’re not getting any of this food. I’ve been saving the good stuff.” She backs up. “I’m not even supposed to be on the camera.”

The gigantic Pokemon lazily advances.

Something tells you these Pokemon aren’t the pushovers the others were. You see almost a dozen of them.

Moletta, oblivious to any danger, looks mad that they cut her off.

So, Melotta is pissed at Slaking for stealing her attention. Are we going to further rile up Melotta, or entice her into another duet?
>>
You put your lips to your flute again and blow.

It’s pure magic. Your performance is nothing short of amazing. Even the terrible acoustics of the surrounding jungle can’t dampen your sound as bear your soul in musical form.

Meloetta joins you, but this time she’s acting as your backup singer. She only adds an occasional accent or undertone to your tune.

The colossal ape Pokemon settle in and listen. They no longer seem to care at all about your presence.

You play a little while longer, enjoying the duet with Meloetta. She twirls in delight.

You keep a soft, low tune going and you and your friends start to walk by the huge apes. They barely pay any attention to you.

“They moved in recently,” Clair tells you, one hand on her head. “They make the smaller monkey Pokemon bring them food.”

“That’s so mean,” Robin whispers as she gingerly steps around one of them.

The leader seems to have fallen asleep entirely. Meloetta looks furious. You guess she doesn't appreciate people sleeping during your performance. She starts floating over to the great ape with a hand up, ready to smack it.

But you don't understand, anons. Slaking is genetically predisposed to move less. That's who they are. How could you bully a Pokemon for who they are?

For all we know they could be offering protection to the other 'mons in exchange for the foods.
>>
Do you guys seriously want her to hit it and piss it off? That sounds like a terrible idea. Just because it's lazy doesn't mean it's not capable of getting violent.

Its moving less also means it has a slower metabolism, therefore needs less food, obviously it isn't genetically predisposed to be incapable of feeding itself.

The crew freezes up, whispering at Meloetta to come back. She ignores everyone. You say nothing as she floats on and smacks the massive Pokemon on the nose.

It roars up furiously!

The others stir up. They don’t make aggressive moves, but they’re watching intently. You’re not sure if they think you’re not a threat, if they have some sort of honor code, or if it’s something else. If they all gang up on you, it could get hairy.

The leader of the pack is easily the largest. It swats at Meloetta, sending her flying into a tree.

Meloetta floats out, looking stunned both at it’s power, and audacity. She shakes her head and goes into a fighting pose right in front of you.

It’s a good thing you spent a few nights studying legendaries and specifically focusing on Meloetta. You have a good idea about some of the moves she probably knows. You also know she can transform using a song, but your understanding is that they don’t know the move to do it usually, and some researchers think it’s just a myth.

“Do you think the other Slaking are going to jump us?” Jeanine backs up a little.

Vance steps in front of her and Clair. “It doesn’t look like it. At least, for now.”

You cup your hands and shout to the legendary Pokemon. “Meloetta! Use Teeter Dance!”

She glances back at you. From the look she’s giving you, she seems to trust your judgement. She quickly does the dance.

The Slaking watches as she twirls and teeters. His eyes glaze over, but he doesn’t really act at all. He just sort of sits there, loafing off.

Most of the others do too. A few look genuinely confused. One trips over itself. The majority though, just lay there, watching.

Meloetta looks furious at apparently not being taken seriously. She makes a noise at it. It sounds like an insult.

The humongous Slaking rises to it’s feet. It’s eyes spin a bit, but you can tell it’s about to do something very destructive.

Meloetta floats back an inch, intimidated by the huge Pokemon

“Meloetta! Use Sing!”

She opens her mouth, but the huge Pokemon moves first.

But it missed! Meloetta doesn’t even have to dodge. The Slaking just smacked a nearby rock instead, hurting it’s hand.

Meloetta spins and sings. It’s a beautiful, quick little song that puts Slaking and a few of his friends to sleep.

She snootily puts her hands on her hips and looks down at the sleeping Pokemon. She starts floating back towards you, obviously unimpressed with the lazy Pokemon.

“How dare that philistine be so ignorant of fine culture and art. Meloetta, let’s teach those lazy bullies a lesson!”

Meloetta stops floating away, inspired to anger by your words. She turns around to face the sleeping Pokemon.

“Wake-up slap!”

Meloetta lines up her palm and delivers an incredible slap to the sleeping Pokemon.

Despite the casual way she used it, it’s still a powerful blow. It looked extremely effective.

The huge Slaking roars up once again. It furiously beats it’s chest. It’s hurt, but somehow even a super-effective move like that from a legendary didn’t put it down. It must be really durable!

The other Slaking stir up again. They’re slowly becoming less asleep, confused, and lethargic. They’re getting worked up.

Ouch. Maybe the distance will null their attack?

That's good, right?

At least if we mess up and get her knocked out, we can take care of her for a few affection points.

“Meloetta, use Psybeam! Get some distance!”

Meloetta pelts the massive Pokemon with a beam of psychic energy while she gracefully moves. She doesn’t get away fast enough though, and Slaking retaliates with his own attack.

You recognize that move! It’s Covet! Slacking punches Meloetta in the face with a heavy fist. Meloetta is sent flying back to you. She almost smacks into you before she gets a hold of herself.

The Slaking has something! Uh oh. It’s the music box you gave her!

Despite it’s obviously heavy injuries, the colossal leader Pokemon focuses on the tiny box instead of the battle. You can see it bending under his grip.

The other Slaking are really worked up now. They’re looked excited. Well, as excited as you can expect them to be. They’re getting pretty close and curious about you and your friends. A few also want to inspect that music box. Some start to position between you and the lead Slaking. Not out of any plan, they just seem to be more active now.

Meloetta looks like she’s going to attack without your instructions. Both her and that one Slaking look pretty hurt. You think a good move from either would finish them.

>Sneasel is still out. Ask him to snatch it back
>Command Meloetta to use one more move! (Specify)
>Toss out one of your Pokemon to take over
>It’s too dangerous. You can get her another one. Time to run

You look to Vance. He’s trying to stay out front in case things get ugly.

Your eyes fall down to his Sneasel. “Sneasel, remember how I told you not to steal things? I need you to forget that for a minute.”

He looks confused for a second, but then you see understanding on his face. He grins as he dashes forward. He speedily maneuvers between the slothful Pokemon and snatches the music box from the leaders hand.

He quickly rushes back, narrowly dodging heavy swipes from the various Slaking. He pauses only for a second to hand it to Meloetta before giving a cocky smile.

Meloetta inspects her precious music box with concern.

The gigantic apes rise up, angry. You can tell at a glance that the leader is clearly the biggest and strongest, but there’s still a good number of them. They start advancing on your party, yelling and posturing

>Perish Song and run!
>Take out the leader with Meloetta, maybe you’ll gave their respect
>Just run! No time to waste!
>Flute them calm again, despite the sound disadvantage
>Toss them Erin’s food bag. You can replace it easier than your bones
>Something else
