Last thread:>>39496396When we last left our princess she had been betrayed by her half brother, likely killing your parents, and certainly framing you as an imposter princess, everyone assuming the real princess died as well, instead of the true heir to the throne which he has taken. Exiled, you turn to the only people who believe you to be the true princess, the group of bandits who kidnapped you, after killing their leader, showing your skill, and smitten by your charm, you assume leadership of the group of bandits, adding Bandit Queen to your list of titles. With just a few months you have converted a fort inside an abandoned forest into a castle, gained a ranger trainer by the name Treesap, and have raided your former home country of Steelgate several times, even kidnapping a Duke and ransoming him off at the cost of one of your rangers.Your army continues to grow as you make friends, though not allies, with the druids and Ents of the forest as well. >>39520884>We should at least get those bandit lordsI absolutely agree, but a lot of people were actually getting into the witch/dragon discussion when we still have the blood magic mess and 5 more Bandit Lords to conquer. It'd be more constructive to discuss which Bandit Lord we'll Duel/Kill/Seduce/Buyout next.
>>39520900>but a lot of people were actually getting into the witch/dragon discussion when we still have the blood magic messYes, because the witches are one of 3 magical groups, and we already called on the druids to deal with the blood magic spirit. The druid already said that he's got no idea how it came about or how to make sure it's really gone, that's why we've been talking about getting the Ents and Witches involved in making sure that the blood spirit is really gone.

Afterwards you find out what was in that chest...a bunch of pots and pans.>Construct a building>Raid>Hire someone>Train someone>Host a banquet at your fort, invite all the bandit lords, and make your proposal.>Kill a bandit lord and force his followers to work for you.>Challenge a Bandit Lord to a duel for his servitude>Seduce a Bandit Lord>Buyout a Bandit Lord>Meet with an outside group>Kill an outside group>Other?
>>39520929>>Other?Speak with our new bandit lord, which of the remainder would likely be willing to come and work under us?
>>39520929>find no more malevolent presence presenSweetI vote for seducing Lasandris, since we can't risk the poison, or killing Whestle, since his followers probably aren't very loyal to a weasel.
>>39520929>Train ourselves in SwordsmanshipWe should get better before we go fight another Bandit Lord.>OtherTalk to Shilvile about the remaining Bandit Lords, and who is best for us to duel and absorb next.
>>39520929>Seduce a Bandit LordLasandris
>>395209291: Rats2: Hmmmm...S'bout to be a bitch fight up in 'ere.Other: Call a meeting. There's only room for one Head Bitch, and we need to make sure it's us. See what next Lord we can go after.
>>39520946Whestle ded.Maybe we can get our new Lord to seduce Lasandris? He seems like the type who could do it.
>>39520946Whestle is dead due to Lasandris. She's likely making a similar power play as we are.
>>39520929>Lasandris, Mistress of the poison dagger has killed off Whestle, the weaselly whip lasher and absorbed his crew and wealthShit.guys, that woman's our priority target. We cannot have anyone powerful as ours.So let's prepare>train untraied bandits in swordsmanship and bowyery on a ratio of 2:1.after that, prepare to meet the dagger lady.>>39520900>Kill/Seduce/BuyoutThose three doesn't look that good. Duel is the way to go, unless you try to pull seduce on female since you know, you can't be harraced by a female if you're a female! Also because poison daggers sounds baaaad. Real bad. Mundane wounds we could get around, but poison? Also inb4 later in the quest these bandit lords becone civil and diciplined commanders/council>>39520926>that's why we've been talking about getting the Ents and Witches involved in making sure that the blood spirit is really gone.I feel like that's a midgame quest when we leave these hings for the souls to thrive and we ask the witches for assistance when we are better in terms of influence.
>>39520929What this guy says, >>39520964>Train ourselves in SwordsmanshipWe should get better before we go fight another Bandit Lord.>OtherTalk to Shilvile about the remaining Bandit Lords, and who is best for us to duel and absorb next.
>>39520984>>39520982Apparently I have dirt poor reading comprehension. I knew Whestle was a weakling.
>>39520998I don't think Lasandris is gonna be down for it, to be honest. She seems to have aspirations that directly and inevitably conflict with our own.
So Lasandris absorbed Whestle's group, Grungin and Lungrin are presumably allied, we should probably kill/duel Haroldnarl. I doubt seduction or money works on an angry dwarf.
>>39521013Also we have to make our move fast because I get the feeling Lasandris is the ambitious type and the Grin brothers won't sit by and watch others get accumulate strength. Alternatively, we can play defensively. We already have a castle so if we stock up on food we can probably last a siege.
>>39521013That's what I'm thinking. Chances are we're gonna run into Lassie on the way to the bash brothers. Hell, I could see them both trying to take us all on.
>>39521013We should go and at least diplomance Haroldnarl.
Okay, so in general, we've kinda agreed- we need to make a play for Haroldnarl? (After getting some second opinions.)
>>39520929Can we send a Ranger to scout Lasandris's numbers and fortifications? I'd like to know if we can fight them head-on. We do have Basic Military Tactics after all.
>>39521077Sounds about right
>>39521058Dude, he's an "angry dwarf with a war axe to grind". He's not the type that listens to reason. He's the stubborn type that insists he'll never lose no matter what and end up dying to superior numbers. We gotta kill the guy. A duel would probably work since he probably underestimates us.
>>39521013Haroldnarl would probably respect strength. We might be able to use him.
>>39521078Honestly? I kinda don't want to risk it. Lasandris seems all about that stealth and subterfuge life, I feel like she could counter spy real easy.
>>39521098Information is power in war, we gotta make a bid for it at the very least. For all we know she could be gearing up to raid us.
>>39521110Duly noted, and the concern is fair, but I'd just like to formally log my unease due to potential backlash.
>>39521116I agree, but I think it's well worth the risk.
>>39521118Well, I suppose it's a matter of simply either causing it to happen or let it happen on its own time. Either way, it's happening and the only difference is how prepared we are.I'll support your suggestion made in >>39521078...Kinda felt like an actual war room discussion there. I like it.
So we seem to be at a crossroads between >Seduce Lasandris>>39520964>Spy on Lasandris>Make a play at Haroldnarl
The way i see things, we're headed into a 3 way standoff. 2 consolidated bandit groups with us having 1 or 2 depending on what happens next.So a classic 3 way where any silly actions like attacking one party might allow the 3rd to swoop in and claim all.We should first gather the last remaining bandit lord then look to recruit either remaining faction to join us. Then we can either issue terms to the last group on pain of annihilation for them to join us.
>>39521160The consensus is now >Spy on Lasandris>Make a play at Haroldnarl - With Advice from Shilvile on whether we should duel him or what.
>>39521160I was one of the first to say seduce Lasandris, but now I get the feeling she's the ambitious backstabber-type. She'd probably shank us in bed. I've long since changed my vote to Spy on Lasandris.
>>39521160Thought you said it was FIRST to three....
>>39521160>>Make a play at Haroldnarl
>>39521160>Spy on Lasandris>Make a play at HaroldnarlCan we do both at the same time? Spying will only take 1 or 2 Rangers
>>39521176The vote's so split that it wouldn't be representative.
>>39521176Man, even I can't figure out if something had 3 votes for it. That was a war council, and a very civil one at that (eh heh)
>>39521160We should>>Make a play at HaroldnarlWe can engage in cloak and dagger after we get the majority.
>>39521171Back this, essentially.
...Hey its a dorf right? We should have a competition. A drinking competition.
>>39521196>>39521181>>39521171Three votes for both, simultaneously. Is this a consensus?
>>39521198We're a princess, and we don't have the Extreme Alcohol Tolerance skill, I doubt we'll outdrink a dorf.
>>39521160>Make a play at Haroldnarl
>>39521195We might not have the opportunity if we get Haroldnarl and word gets back to her. She's gonna figure out it's a race now, and she'll be stepping up her timetable same as we are.
>>39521176Did yet to see three by my count. Sorry if I missed someone.I do see three for >>Spy on Lasandris>>Make a play at HaroldnarlYou decide to send your stealthiest rangers and bandits to spy on your rival Bandit Queen.Meanwhile, we must decide on HaroldnarlSo, princess, how should we go about him?>Kill>Seduce>Duel>Buyout>Other
>>39521208We're a princess, we can fake it.
>>39521208we don't have to be the one drinking. some folks on our staff can.and then we our challenge to fight him would still stand.
>>39521223>>Duel>>Buyout>>Othergather hearty fellows to drink him under the table
>>39521223>Other>Council Shilvile. We're guessing either Kill or Duel, the question is which is more feasible.
>>39521223Duel. Swords beat Axes, after all.
>>39521223WE JUST SAID WE WANTED TO ASK SHILVILE THE BEST WAY TO DO THAT.>DuelWe use a finess based weapon, we should be able to dance around him and death by a thousand cuts
>>39521250To be fair, those anons probably changed their minds after some thinking and discussion. I know because I'm one of them
>>39521250Too many people don't want it anymore- one of the anons said they changed their vote.
>>39521241(Whoops forgot that part)Shilvile speaks up during your scheming. "You know....he is a dwarf bandit leader. If I know one thing that fuels them is greed. As long as you can make him more money at the end of the day, he'll work for you."
>>39521270Hmmm...so we could just pay him off? Wasn't expecting that. Feasibility, gentlemen? Think we can afford it?
>>39521270>>39521274Not necessarily. Lasandris might be able to pay him more. We've only got 4400 gold.
>>39521270Offer to buy him out. He can be our raid leader with salary and looting rights as long as he does it within reason and not burn things to the ground.
>>39521270Offer him a position as leader of the army, and good pay? So he likes, drinkan, fightan and money.I dunno, might just be easier to kill him...>Duel, and kill him.
>>39521270Can we ask him why he's bloody angry and offer to help him purge whatever it is that makes him bloody angry? Also can we get siege weapons? We've got a lot of wood surrounding us.
>>39521295We will always need a good warhorse leading the advance guard. We can make good use of him.
>>39521294He likes money but he probably also has a bad temper. He's not going to listen to our commands like Shilvile does.
>>39521270>Try to buy/hire him off, failing that KILL BLOOD MURDER STAB ASSASSIN DEATH.
>>39521270Hey it's >>39521295 here. Disregard that vote, changing to >Offer to buy him out
>>39521270How about we pay 4000 gold, wait for him to turn his back, then stab him?
>>39521316We will have to find a way to leash the wardog. But weapons like this have their uses.
( I see three votes for duel)"Be that as it may, Shilvile. I can't make myself broke or worse in debt in the process. We'll just have to duel him head on.""Alright, that might work. He's probably the most honorable of the Bandit lords. The only reason I follow around is, well your successful and provide a nice view~" He says teasingly(Sees vote changes)"Perhaps your right. Money is no object, and with him on our side making more is a simple matter of who to clean of their valuables next...Shilvile set up a meeting with him. It's time to talk business.">How much should we offer?
>>39521352as this anon suggested, >>39521294, well, he can make his starting offer that he wants per raid/month/whatever>Offer to buy him out. He can be our raid leader with salary and looting rights as long as he does it within reason and not burn things to the ground.
>>39521352Damn it Exiler, stop stringing us around. Firs you say he's greedy now you say he's the most honourable. You gotta be more consistent.
>>39521352Question Exile, can you give a rough gauge of a skilled craftsman's salary, a noble's ransom and a king's ransom for reference?
>>39521369Seconding.wifi connection died on me. Why.
>>39521352>>How much should we offer?1000G
>>39521352>>39521380yea a gauge on how much currency is worth would be good
>>39521379Greed and honour are not mutually exclusive.
>>39521379No, he's still a greedy dwarf but compared to the other bandit lords, he's the most honorable. Basically like the shiniest shit in a pile of shits or something. That being said, offer him a position as general or something.
>>39521369Last thread, an above average success raid got us 400G and 4 days of food. A perfect 20 got us 4000G. I think a monthly salary of 1000-2000 would be fair.
>>39521379The two aren't mutually exclusive, you can be both honorable and greedy. It's all about the fine print.>>39521380Well, we ransomed a duke for 4,000 gold, a king's would likely be 10,000+, a craftsman...probably 50 gold a week give or take.
>>39521405In fact it's the best combination. We can buy him off and know he won't betray us.
>>39521414well then, i think >>39521398 might be right.
>>39521414>>39521405So we can pay him a good salary, but he won't betray us for anything that isn't significantly higher. Alright.
>>39521413>>39521414So a salary of 1500 gold per month? does he possess the craftsmanship of a dwarf and randomly takes a fey mood?
>>39521352Also, does he like siege weapons?Does he do some engineering work?If he does, we can totally increase the money we pay him.
>>39521446That is a VERY high number.Maybe in the 600s - 700s range?Hold on:>>39521352Give us a ballpark: How much are we paying the other asshole.
>>39521446>1500 gold per month?whatthat'll wipe us clean out.
>>39521352>and provide a nice viewI'm not sure if this counts as a vote or not, but we should tease Shilvile a bit.
>>39521471>>39521468We can send him on raids while we do other things. Our monthly income will easily surpass 1000G
>>39521479We could slap/pinch his ass.
>>39521479Considering how we've been playing this quest, that would be OOC. Princess is like a no-bullshit all-serious type.
>>39521484Yes, but we need that gold for other projects.I could see that kind of figure as a down payment, something to get him interested, but as a salary!500s, 600s, 700s at best.
>>39521490>>39521492You both have good points. Some restrained, verbal teasing in response to his quips?
>>39521492Yeah, I could see her cutting loose once she's more situated, but for now she's all business. Likely due to still being pissed at her wankstain half-brother.
>>39521493Okay then. Salary of 500 a month, and it raises if we give a raise if we manage to come on top.
>>39521519Make sure to grease the gears with a larger initial payment tho.
>>39521493Aye. Maybe in the future but now we need the cash to fund our kingdom.
>>39521512>>39521511Honestly, I think the way we've been playing leaves the Princess with a really bland personality. I think we can definitely have her loosening up over time as she recovers from the loss of her kingdom/prestige. I'm down for replying with a retort, and as we get closer with our new allies we can have deeper interactions.
Also if you haven't already, Might want to think about getting a twitter Exiler
>>39521294>>39521369>>39521381(I'll count that as three votes.) "Who goes there!"Yells the dwarf from atop his stone tower fortress. "I am Lumora Princess of Steelgate. Bandit Queen of Treeline forest. I am here to discuss business with you.""Aye, what business that be?""Of buying your service. You will be maid commander of my raiding forces, and will be paid handsomely.""Pfft! Aye, no wonder you've been the talk of the forest, you're as bold as they get. Listen laddie, I'm pulling a few thousand a week with my caravan hits. What makes you think you can make me more money?" "Well other then the fact that with you on my side the other bandit lords will join me easily meaning I will be able to control all the banditry in the forest and steel gate. Meaning not only I will be making more money on the whole, but so will you."(Did we convince him? Rolls pls, 1d20, first best of three)
>>39521519We might be in danger of Lisandra out-paying us. Maybe a large down payment is necessary.
Rolled 17 (1d20)>>39521543Rolling.
>>39521543We forgot to compliment his beard.
Rolled 17 (1d20)>>39521543
Rolled 11 (1d20)>>39521543googo
>>39521553>>39521560Holy shit do we get a bonus for this?
>>39521557That's OOC, we can do that when we get closer.
>>39521543Wow. Thousands a week? We're gonna need to step our game up.
>>39521564(Eh,why not?)"Hmm...well it would be nice to have allies beside myself and me boys...tell you what. Give me 1000 gold upfront, and let me keep my fort, and the gold already in it, MINE. Understood?""Understood, agreed!" Say Shilvile. "Trust me, take the deal, before he's less generous." He whispers to you. With that another bandit lord is under your control. >lose 1000 gold (Total 3,400)>Gain 1 Bandit Lord>Can now train Craftsman>Gain 20 Fighters (Total 45)
Alright, we need to A: start training shit, and B: raid some fools.
>>39521619Sweet. Are the Rangers back from the recon mission yet?
So what are we calling our new kingdom anyways?Treegate?Woodengate?Newgate?Steelholme?Steelvale?Fuck-My-Half-Brother-ia?
With that I need to call it quits. I need sleep. We'll see how our spying does later. Will do a continuation in the near future. Within the week at least. This has been my most popular Quest yet. Also I took y'alls suggestions and got a twitter: https://twitter.com/codemastergamesSo I'll let you know when I make the next one.
>>39521648>NewgateIs the official name, But the unofficial name has definitely gotta be Fuck-My-Half-Brother-ia?
>>39521648Woodvale?>>39521654Also thanks for running! Will keep an eye on this one.
>>39521654Thanks for running.
>>39521662Shouldn't that be incestia ?
>>39521654Thanks for running. It's a shame I'm always a bit late though, it's early morning when you start running this quest in my timezone. I'm having fun nevertheless.
>>39521654And thread 2, archived. We got a shit ton done, thanks for running!
Well fuck. I missed the negotiation.>>39521619>Can now train CraftsmanHeh heh.Infinite wooden bolt/stone mug crafting, go!
>>39521654Damn I missed it this time Well thank's for running glad I could catch up on it
