Last Thread>>39515913When we last left off our princess she had dueled a handsome swordsman of a bandit lord named Shilvile into servitude, killed three insane murders and an evil blood mask, and with help of our friends the druids buried the bodies of them and their victims. We then found out that Lasandris, the mistress of the poison dagger had killed another bandit lord. Fearing a potential rival you quickly recruited, at the cost of a 1,000 gold and the position of raid leader, the greedy, yet honorable, war axe wielding dwarf Haroldnarl. You have sent your stealthiest men to spy on your rival Lasandris, and they have only now returned report that with all her camps and fort she has about 60 bandits+ plus her personal assassin entourage. Lasandris and her entourage's locations appears to be unknown at this time. (FYI for those new to the quest, we're going by rules of three, first three agreed choices, rolls, etc.)
>>39535019As long as it can be built with a wood and a little stone you currently have the capacity to build it. Taverns, farm houses, workshops, and etc. You have no access to metal currently unless you buy or steal it, so no blacksmiths or war forges for you currently.

>>39535172(Hello! You currently have 1 castle, several huts and tents around said castle, and another wood fort from when Shilvile joined you.)
>>39535242I could trade my raid and build vote for train and build.>>39534957Given we're reinforcing the castle defenses could we also lay traps and keep a good perimeter with the rangers?
>>39535242>>39535301Could we trap the hell out of Shilvile's fort and have him relocate with us, so when our rivals come they get a surprise?
>>39535242Then if we can, let's clear out some forest, make 3 craftsmen, only permit them to make arrows and bows using said cleared out wood. And then, till the cleared ground and get some gardening/farming going. Constant raiding will eventually put us in bad terms against many people.and then train the rest seven bandits into rangers. Meanwhile, train ourselves in basic marksmanship from our ranger mentor. If we can cut down trees towards the wooden fort do that too.and keep people on guard. Move around in pairs if out of our parimiter, and ordr them to be sharp. We're dealing with a potential ambush.

I know you are preparing for big things but I wouldn't come here without reason. I felt a disturbance in the harmony of the forest, just like when I was around the blood mask you destroyed earlier. I had one of my druids go investigate the burial site and...it has been desecrated. They dug up the body of the one who wore the mask. All that was left inside the grave was a letter...I believe it's meant for you." He hands you a scrap of white parchment. Inside in green ink writes the words. "Blood can be it's own poison, princess."
>>39535905>"Blood can be it's own poison, princess."Ask the Elder Druid if he can sense the blood spirit's malevolence. Also if the druids have any idea who might have dug up the blood spirit. >>39537046Hitting it in the mask might still work, but it's probably gonna cover the mask this time. We're probably gonna need fire arrows to burn off the blood armor before we can hit its weak point. As for dilution, I'm kinda afraid all it will do is give the thing more fluid to use.

>>39537007>Prepare your castle for battle and await the blood spirit.>>39537054Lemme take a crack at it."Men, I know this is not quite what you signed up for when you pledged your service to me. You expected some raids, perhaps a slow growth, a gradual, yet inevitable rise to greatness. Lasandris knew of our growth, and she grew afraid- and fear breeds desperation. She knows not what she has called forth, and we must put her in her place. Our rise IS inevitable. That much is true. She knew this. Knows this, and she flails desperately to stop us. Let us show her how wrong she was to oppose us, and yet how so very right she was to fear us."(Eh, not my best work, but it's what I got.)
>>39537178I like it, its about what I had in mind!
So it's fire then? I'n not objecting, but we should take cate to not accidently damage our tree . Also, that blood sprit, what exactly is it?
...Actually, can we kite the monster to Lasandris' place?Send our rangers there to bait it toward her place. They're speedy enough that they should be able to stay out of danger and still redirect it by chasing them. Then they can vanish when close to her place.
>>39537222Some kinda demon. And I dunno. Physical damage isn't something to rely on too hard. And recall that burning didn't take last time. Presuming the mask is still the lynchpin, we'll likely have to find some way to get it off. Maybe some kinda ice magic, if possible?
>>39537222By our tree, I meant our tree allies. You know the Things that the druids were riding.also will cooperating with them improve our relationship with them?
>>39537222Fire didn't work on the bodies when we tried to burn them.Probably won't work on the kaiju version. What we need to know is if the druids and ents can somehow bless the arrows used by our Rangers. Our warriors should probably stay out of this fight, unless the druids can bless their weapons. Trying to melee a blood spirit kaiju will just feed the thing more blood and make it grow.
>>39537283maybe we should kidnap a priest from one of the villages to bless some stuff for us.
>>39537222>.I can figure it's orgin. (Holy shit you guys)Your rangers manage to hit the mask at an angle knocking it off it's body and flying towards you. You jump up high into the air and pierce it with your royal blade straight through it's center. "This time...stay dead." It's shatters into peices and explodes into a cloud of blood. The main body of the monster quickly dissolves into a gigantic puddle of blood. As soon as you land back onto the ground at the edge of the puddle the blood quickly evaporates at your touch. The sounds of dozens up dozens of souls scream out as they vanish into nothingness...after a moment of extended silence...you feel...peace. Rolled 5 (1d20)>>39540510Time to shank a bitch.
Rolled 11 (1d20)>>39540510
>>39540492>>39540498You know, this kind of immediate jump to extreme measures is what nearly fucked us over with the murderers' shack. If we had burnt it like some people had wanted to, it would have fucked us over.
>>39540522I'm not a fan of first to three votes, personally. I'd rather majority, especially considering this group of players in particular seems to be really good at talking shit out.
>>39540510This will not end well.
>>39540528It's possible that Exiler is deliberately messing with us.
>>39540510Actually, yeah. I want to formally ask why first to three and not majority rule as is standard? Merely curious.
Rolled 11 (1d20)>>39540528Different situations, anon. Unless Shilvile is rigged with explosives or something, I don't think killing him would be too much of a setback.
>>39540522I'm fairly certain you saved us. Or at least let us have a not nearly so crippling failure.
>>39540550I've been rolling strangely well today. One of the double nat 20's earlier was me, too.
>>39540532(perhaps next thread I'll forgo the three rule, I've been using it for simplicities sake.) >14As he comes to lean in for a kiss you stab at his heart with your royal dagger. His eyes go wide as his magical disguise fades away to be one of Lasandris's male assassin. "Well...you're no fun..." He says before falling backwards dead.Behind you you hear a woman screaming, it sounds like your cleric. It's coming from a nearby room. >Go in room weapons drawn>Wait for screaming to stop before going in>Wait for someone to come out >Leave her to her fate>Other
>>39540595>Go into room weapons drawn
>>39540595Phew, close one here.>Other>Regroup with some allies, preferably the real Shilvile and Haroldnarl
>>39540595>>Go in room weapons drawn
>>39540595>Go in room weapons drawn
>>39540595>Go in room weapons drawnIs it a trap? Likely. Are they using the real cleric as bait? Also likely.
Kick the door open, don't just barge in. Might be waiting to hit us in the face with poison.
>Go in room weapons drawnYou go in sword drawn only to find your cleric having smashed in the heads the rest of the assassin's in lassandris's entourage. She's still screaming, pounding away with her mace at the already smashed to pieces skull.>Try to calm her rage>Wait for her to calm down>Leave
>>39540655>>Wait for her to calm down
>>39540655>>Leave"...Oh. Alright, then. Good work. Lassie's still out there somewhere, so...yeah. ...Bye."
>>39540655>Wait for her to calm down>Stay alert.
>>39540655>>Try to calm her rage
>>39540655>Try to calm her rage... AT A DISTANCE AND WITH OUR HAND READY TO SHUT THE DOOR ON HERNo need to get our skull smashed in.
>>39540655>Wait for her to calm downKeep an eye on her and the door, in case it's Lassandra in disguise.
You retards she's in a rage. Just let her have her fun and check out the battle.
inb4 thats our cleric on the floor wearing the assassin robes and the reason the face is bashed in is so we don't recognise it.
>>Try to calm her rage"Farahdol! Farahdol they're already dead! You can stop now." You yell to her.She swings her mace back up and turns to you, looks back to her mace, and puts it back down. "I...I was ambushed I...I just couldn't stop I-I had to continue going or they'd kill me...I'm sorry." She says clearly shook up. >Tell her to come along with you>Tell her to stay where she is>Leave
>>39540719(Dang I wish I thought of that. XD)
>>39540722>>Tell her to come along with yousafety in numbers
>>39540722>Tell her to come along with you
Wait, if all of the assassins are dead, where's Lassandra?
>>39540752impersonating us, having already returned to our troops.Kills off all the folks outside, marches back in with our men and says "Look! Assassin's with my face! Kill them!"
>Tell her to come along with you"It's okay, this is war after all...no come with me.">Go back to the battlefield >Continue searching the castle for Lassandris
>>39540775>>Go back to the battlefield
>>39540775>Continue searching the castle for Lassandris
>>39540775>Go back to the battlefield>worried.jpg
>Go back to the battlefieldYou see your men celebrating glorious defeat. They chanting your praises and lift you up and down on their shoulders...though it's a you that isn't the you, you are right now. Your cleric turns to her and raises her mace in defense and starts to back away from. How are you going to convince her, you are the real you before the others see you?
>>39540832"Peace sister. There is only one way to deal with this."Start walking towards her."LASANDRIIISSSSSS. I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUEL."
>>39540832My mens here can proove me, we came here after defending. The guys st that side can proove it too, since they'll recognize the soldiers that left.
>>39540832"To be quite frank, if I had wanted to kill you, I'd have done so back there. It literally makes no sense for me to be out here if I were an imposter."
>>39540832Just ask them to ask us the first thing we said to each of them. easy. And then challenge her to a duel.
>>39540832>Call her out."HEY YOU BITCH! You think you can waltz on in here, steal my face, my name, my place here with my people? Well think again! I've killed all your assassins, and now I am about to lay bare your falsehoods!Draw your rapier and dagger and fight me here and now to the death!OH WAIT! YOU CAN'T! THAT'S BECAUSE I HAVE THE REAL ONES!"
>>39540862That's not really in-character for how we've been playing the Princess. She's very much a calm, collected, no-bullshit kinda gal. This would literally be the worst possible time to start to change that attitude.
>>39540888Also knows how to play the crowd. Everyone knows the Blood Princess loves to duel. She who backs away from a duel is obviously the impostor.
>>39540832We can also hurl so many insults at Lasandris that she actually gets so pissed at us that she cracks her disguise.
>>39540924It's not the intent, it's the phrasing. She's not quite so...vehement.>>39540926Ha! If we were to do something like this, we need to do it straight-faced, like it's just plain fact.
>>39540924And acting unlike the Princess is not going to convince the crowd that we're the real one. Especially when we really only dueled once.
>>39540932"So it seems you're just so horrid at direct combat you need to pretend you're on the side of the true victors? Charming, Lasandris."
>>39540924>Everyone knows the Blood Princess loves to duelNot really?I only remember one duel, with Shilvile. We had no other duels.
>>39540924We only dueled once. Not sure where you got that inclination from.
>>39540958We didn't say anything special when we recruited her, though, did we?
Ask Lasandris what the rock-flinging siege weapon is.>It's a catapult>No, it's a trebuchet.Thanks Haroldnarl.
>>39540832Tell her something that only we would know from when we recruited her. Also her god can tell her we're the real princess. And show that we have the rapier and dagger we're known for.I forgot about this part.
>>39540971>Ask Lasandris what the rock-flinging siege weapon isIndicate it by pointing at it, I meant.
>>39540971Ahahahha.I want to see this.
>>39540971If that actually works...
>>39540855>The guys st that side can proove it too, since they'll recognize the soldiers that left.>>39540935>acting unlike the Princess is not going to convince the crowd that we're the real one. Especially when we really only dueled once.>>39540862>YOU CAN'T! THAT'S BECAUSE I HAVE THE REAL ONES!>>39540971>No, it's a trebuchet.>Thanks Haroldnarl.ALL OF THESE.
>>39540971Voting for this
You jump down to the men. "I besiege you to not trust that woman. She is nothing but an imposter!" You say and draw your sword and dagger. "There's my weapon, she stole them from me!" The imposter replies."Oh really? Then tell me what would you call that rock flinging siege weapon over there." You say pointing to it. "It's a catapult, don't try to distract us with stupid questions!" "Correction!" You say pointing with your blade. "It is a Trebuchet is it not Haroldnarl?"With that the dwarf becomes angry and pushes the imposter to the ground with great force. Her disguise vanishes.Lasandris is revealed.
>>39541056"I'm going to be quite frank here. You weren't nearly as good at this as you thought you were."Shank.
>>39541056>mfw catapult/trebuchet actually worksLet's run her through with our sword right now, before she has a chance to crack open an acid vial.
>>39541056Kill that bitch.
>>39541056Sweet, my plan actually worked. It's the small things in life that make the biggest difference.
With her surrounded on all sides, her ruse seen through, there's only one thing left to decide. How to deal with her. >Have her being killed by your army>Have one of your bandit lords kill her>Throw her into the spike trap pit>Torture her>Imprison her>Kill her yourself using your royal rapier>Kill her yourself using your royal dagger
>>39541094>>39541070Specifically, with the rapier. She turned out more of a nuisance than a threat, but she's still too annoying to let live.
>>39541094>>Throw her into the spike trap pit
>>39541094>>Torture her>>Imprison herarmy public use toilet
>>39541094Let our army "have their fun" with her before killing her however they want.
She's probably laced with poisons.
>>39541094>Kill her yourself using your royal rapierLast meal, last request, then execution.
>>39541094>>Have her being killed by your army"Have your fun. Clean up when you're done."
>>39541132On second thought, she probably have some hidden poisons, so I'm changing my vote to>spike trap pit
>>39541155Then delete your old post. It should still be within the time limit.
>>39541115Eh, I'd rather just kill her and be done with it. Too risky otherwise.
>>39541094>>Throw her into the spike trap pitPIT PIT PIT PIT PITBut bring me her head.
>>39541123>>39541132>>39541148Having her be raped kind of goes against the guidelines we laid out for our bandits. It's uncharacteristic of the princess.
>>39541180...we have guidelines for bandits? And even so, rape in warfare is extremely common, even between actual kingdoms.
>>39541094>Have her being killed by your armyTake no chances.
>>39541193>...we have guidelines for bandits?Uh, yes, we do? Are you ignoring what we did during the raids on the towns and on the duke's estate?
>>39541196Wait, I change my choice to >>39541175.That way she can't use dirty tricks apon death, and we surround the pit for good measure. Again, taking no chances.
>>39541193Actually, we did lay out guidelines before a raid. We're trying to be romantic bandits, not 'realistic/gritty' bandits.
>>39541209>>39541203I actually didn't vote for rape-death, but to be honest we could totally make an exception for the bitch who let loose a blood demon and tried to poison us.
>>39541193If you're going to go against 4 threads of established character, there had better be a good reason for it.
>>39541219Could, but won't. We're better than that.
>>39541219If we make one exception, then during our next raid inevitably someone is going to try to rape a woman. And then we'll have to execute them, and put us down one bandit for something that could have been prevented.
>>>Throw her into the spike trap pitYou have your men drag her to the edge of the spike trap pit. "Lassandris, Mistress of the Poisoned Dagger, you have caused chaos and destruction upon this land. Killing enemies and innocents alike. If it wasn't for your utter disregard for anyone or anything I might have respect for you being such a challenging opponent...might. Instead you will die along with your minions. Dead and forgotten in a pit of spikes." Before she has time for a rebuttal you kick her off into the pit with a resounding thud and piercing sound."...bitch." You say beneath your breath.
>>39541268That works! Now onto less demonic matter.
>>39541268Let's, carefully and taking our time, loot Lassandris' fort and the bodies of her bandits. Then we need to work on making farms; our food situation is going to become critical.
>>39541289Our money situation will be critical, too, but hopefully whatever Lassie left behind will help with that.
>>39541268Alright, the forest is finally united. loot Lassandris' fort and then we can get around to developing the area. Let's not cut down any trees though, since that would damage our relationship with Ents and Druids. The landscape will also be useful against invaders.
>>39541268Great!Now let's loot the fort, Call it a day, cut down trees, and get some infrastructure going (roads, farm plots/gardens, proper barracks/bakeries/cookeries/forges). Buy some required supplies if we need it from the town (anvils, farming tools, ect.)
>>39541309Not TOO much cutting down.Don't want to anger the Druids and Ents after all.
>>39541302speaking of which, we should consult the druids about that. And also, no clearings/roads hurt building infrastructure.for now, lets loot, call it a day and rest, consult with the druids regarding buinding rooms for infra, and start to work on our merry little world.
Since we're kind of a bigshot now, let's loot the big guys. We're supposed to be virtuous bandits, so let's loot corrupt nobles or something similar.
>>39541329This, but let's not rest on our laurels too much. The fact that the Bandit Lords have been united under one banner is sure to get some outside attention. We should be prepared to handle it.
It took time, effort, blood, sweat, and cold hard cash, but we did it for now. Now we just have to hold it together...
You walk to the front of the ranks of your men and turn to them. "My friends, my army, my new country men. With the death of the last opposing Bandit lord. There is no longer any dispute as to who rules Treeline Forest. From this day forward Treeline Forest shall be known as the Kingdom of Treeline, out of respect for the forest that has given us so much. I am no longer Princess Lumora of Steelgate, bandit queen. I am Princess lumora of Treeline, Bloodslayer, and Bandit Queen of Hearts. Kneel before your new ruler, as we celebrate a kingdom finally forged."Your armies bow before you.(Lets call this a thread. It's 4 in the morning. Stay tuned for the next thread announcement here: https://twitter.com/codemastergames )
