You are CARLY, a prospective career criminal looking to make it big in the criminal underworld!

"So this is the place, huh?" You frown as you look through the binoculars.

"Yep." Sam nods. "Pretty natural, actually, considering the Mafia owns the docks. Makes sense for the Cartel to cut a deal with them."

"Ew, that's some pretty tough security, though." Lisa frowns. "The perimeter fence is electrified, so you can't just cut or climb over it. Cameras leading to a central security room, and goons guarding the place round the clock."

"There has to be a way inside though, right?" You glance to Artya. "They have to have some kid of chink."

THE WATER. Artya signs. IT'S POSSIBLE TO SWIM IN.

"If we do that, we can't bring FRAG-E with us. It's not rated for water." Lisa frowns.

"You know, maybe we're thinking about this the wrong way." Sam blinks. "The Cartel is coming in by boat, right? We can just hit them in transit."

DANGEROUS. Artya shakes her head. NO DATA ON BOAT. LIKELY VERY SECURE.

"Could be a better gamble than trying to sneak into the dock." Sam points out.

"We'll keep it simple. We'll sneak though the dock." You say.

"Yeah, I was figuring you'd say that." Sam nods. "So, well, the question is how to get in. Tucks are going in and out of the docks all the damn time. It shouldn't be too hard to hitch a ride in on one of them, or even better, hijack one of those trucks for ourselves."

"Or, you know, we can just get an armored van and plow our way in, fuck stealth." You shrug.

"You always want to fuck stealth." Sam grunts.

"Among other things." You laugh.

"Or you know..." Lisa points to a large cargo crane. "I think we could actually zip line in from that crane. Only issue is that we'll have to go in light."

"What about you, Artya?" You ask. "Your suggestion?"

I CAN GO IN AND DISABLE SECURITY. Artya offers. YOU CAN CUT FENCE AND ENTER THAT WAY.

"You do realize how dangerous that is?" Sam frowns.

Artya just shrugs.

Hey now, that's not entirely fair. Stealth is a perfectly acceptable approach if you're trying to grind for cash or xp. After you're not doing that anymore though, there's no reason to bother with it.

Honestly, I wind up murdering more hostages when stealthing. Because if you're stealthing you will NEVER need the hostages, there are often more hostages than your crew has cable ties, and it's easier to kill them than to constantly be running in circles spamming "f" to keep them on the ground while the thermal drill gets the damn vault open/you wait for the timelock to open up.

"All right, Sam, we'll do it your way." You grunt. "We'll sneak in by truck."

"All right." Sam grins. "All we gotta do is jump one on the road and ride it in. You guys hide in the back and I'll do all the talking."

"You sure you can handle it?" You ask.

"Of course I can! The guys guarding the front gate are just gonna be Mafia mooks. They won't even notice the difference!"

"You sure have a lot of optimism about this plan."

"Just as how you have a lot of optimism for anything that involves heavy guns." Sam retorts.

"Point." You concede.

As Sam had said, getting a truck was a simple matter. All you and Sam had to do was stand by the road and look cute. No trucker would be able to resist your combined feminine wiles. One such truck pulls over and rolls to a stop.

"You need a ride, ladies?" The driver pokes his head out.

"As a matter of fact, yes." Both you and Sam smile and draw your pistols, pointing them right at the trucker. "We're gonna need to borrow your truck."

It's a quick matter to pull the driver out and tie him up. You'll call the cops to pick him up later. As Sam familiarizes herself the the truck's controls, the rest of you begin transferring your gear into the back of the truck's container, which was thankfully empty, though it smelled oddly of a mix of dead fish and hairspray. FRAG-E lazily rolls in, this time armed with a heavy MG since you were expecting a big fight.

"So, how heavy are you going in?" Lisa asks as she clips on her toolbelt.

"Fair enough." Lisa nods.

"All right, everybody get in, we're rolling out!" Sam pokes her head out of the window and bangs her hand on the door, signifying that she's ready.

You all pile into the back of the truck and Sam starts up the engine, pulling back onto the road and heading for the docks. However, you can only guess at what's happening, since you, Lisa, and Artya were hiding in the trailer, hoping that the Mafia guys wouldn't be cautious enough to check it. Finally, you feel the truck begin to slow down, no doubt reaching the checkpoint. You just hope that Sam can convince the guards that she's legit.

You peek around the side to see the three gate guards at the checkpoint, eying the truck suspiciously. You see Artya moving up slowly to sneak up on them, the slight shimmer of her camo cloak just barely visible against the background. However, the guards look at each other and nod, drawing their sidearms.

Shit.

However, Sam was already prepared for the worst, and draws her own pistol, firing several shots. Two guards immediately go down ,while the third goes down to a thrown knife to the neck, courtesy of Artya.

"Well, I guess stealth is out of the question." You sigh as you bring out your LMG. "Looks like we're just gonna have to barge in."

"Are you sure it's a good idea using our getaway as a breaching vehicle?" Lisa raises an eyebrow.

"FLOOR IT, SAM!" You yell as you hop into the passenger seat. "RAM THIS TRUCK STRAIGHT UP THEIR ASSES!"

"Boy, you're in an aggressive mood today, aren't you?" Sam sighs. "Buckle up."

"But that's hard with all this armor on..." You whine.

"Buckle. Up." Sam growls. "Last thing I want is your head going through the windshield."

"Fiiiiiiine." You roll your eyes as you put on your seatbelt, with great difficulty. It was hard with heavy armor on, after all.

"Okay, HOLD ON." Sam slams down on the gas pedal and the truck's engine roars and the vehicle lurches forward. Sam makes a beeline straight for the target dock, where you could see over a score of suited men standing by, watching a large luxury yacht pulling in. However, your approach was anything but stealthy, and Mafia goons are already swarming out of the woodwork, firing their guns.

"What do we do?!" Sam winces as the windshield cracks and spalls from bullet impacts.

"Plow the truck right into the goddamn yacht!" You bark.

"Somehow I knew you were going to say that." Sam groans. "Lisa, Artya, better brace for impact."

"You're gonna do WHAT?!" Lisa cries.

Sam steers the truck to line up with the pier, driving straight down the long strip of concrete. The Mafia goons still caught on the pier begin to run and leap out of the way, though some aren't quite fast enough and become unfortunate speed bumps. You see the Cartel thugs on the yacht look at the sight in bewilderment, not quite sure what to make of the situation. You instinctively close your eyes as the truck drives off the pier and straight into the yacht with a loud CRASH, sending both you and Sam lurching forward in your seats. Thank goodness for those seatbelts, huh?

"Aw jeez." Sam groans.

"Well, that was something." You grunt as you roll out of the seat.

And then you hear a lot of south american shouting. Yeah, looks like the Cartel goons weren't happy you just trashed their boat.

You kick the door out to see three Cartel goons dashing up the deck to check out the commotion. You swing out the LMG and open fire, but they're quick witted enough to dive for cover and wildly return fire.

"Damn!" You grunt as you fire off more bursts to keep them down. Sam pulls out her pistol and fires a few rounds. Meanwhile, Artya, Lisa, and FRAG-E extricate themselves from the trailer and board the yacht.

"What's the plan?" Lisa yells as more gunfire starts to come in.

You grunt as a fresh round of blindfire passes above your head. You couldn't afford to move with these Cartel goons at your back. At the same time, staying here would ensure you'd get overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, you charge up to the bridge of the yacht. You can see the door leading up the bridge. It doesn't look too strong. Actually, one good kick could probably cave it in. However, you really couldn't be sure what was behind it.

You slide to a pause to wait for the others to catch up. You nod to Lisa who plants an explosive charge onto the door, not only to blow it open, but to also disorient whoever is inside. Lisa silently counts down from three as the explosive beeps ominously. Once she reaches zero, the breaching explosive detonates with a loud BANG. Thankfully, it was shaped so you don't feel any of the negative effects. However, you can't say the same for the guys inside. You raise your LMG and get to your feet, dashing through the remains of the door.

It's been a good run, short as it's been. The question is pretty much begged for, though: why didn't this draw a crowd like everything else?

>>
>>39579709

I dunno. I just don't really feel compelled to follow and read like other quests.
>>
>>39579709
Maybe it's due to the fact it runs so late at night on the EST zone?
>>
>>39579709
Not sure, to be honest, Carly's main motivation was for the thrill of it. That by itself is fine much like "I wanna be the Pokemon Master!", but even then, there was a B plot line with some team trying to fuck things up to keep things changing.
>>
>>39579581
I like him telling stories than trying to cram dice mechanics into things.

>>39579709
Payday/etc aren't that big of a thing compared to other things on /tg/, no matter how much a certain chatroom might say otherwise. That and the feeling that he might be overextending himself.

>>39579760
This is normal for him though.
>>
>>39579709
>>39579751
My reasoning is the same.

I felt more compelled when we saw cameos of the Clover Idols but other then that, it didn't catch my attention.
>>
>>39579781

Maybe if it was Payday set in the Shadowrun universe, but even then it might be a bit iffy.

Unfortunately, the bridge crew weren't as disoriented as you had hoped. After all, these were Cartel guys. No doubt experienced in not just dodging cops, but battling their rivals at home and abroad.

In particular, the ship captain seems to be a pretty grizzled guy, as he pulls out a shotgun and blasts you directly in the chest. Fortunately, your armor protects you from the buckshot, but the sheer force knocks you onto your back.

"CARLY!" Sam grabs you and drags you to safety while Lisa and Artya lay down covering fire. "Carly, are you okay?!"

"Y-yeah. I'm fine." You cough as you brush the buckshot embedded in your chestplate off. "Just knocked the wind outta me."

"Guys, bad news." Lisa grunts. "They got the bridge locked down. I don't think we're going to be taking control of it anytime soon."

"Shit, we need a Plan B." Sam seethes.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS OUR PLAN B. Arty a points out.

"Every plan is plan B." You wheeze, trying to get back up to your feet.

The Payday thing I can definitely see--while it's a great game, apparently bank heists don't have the same sort of draw as mecha, planesluts, or cute girls doing cute celebrity things.

Merc, you consider making Saturday a holiday for awhile? You've been putting out quest after quest after quest for, like, two years now, dude. A bit of rest and decompression time would be good, otherwise you might burn out or get run off /tg/ for anonkun or tgchan or some other third RP forum.
>>
>>39579965
Well that's up to Merc normally he has one or two long quests and a short one, I think Heist was a short one cut even shorter since he did not feel as motivated about it.
>>
>>39579965
I concur on the rest thing. Everyone has their limits, and doing 2-3 quests per week has got to taking its toll (as most QMs only do one quest a week) Slowing down or taking one weekend day off wouldn't hurt.
>>
>>39579965

Cute girls doing heist missions sounds like it should be a winning combination, but for some reason it just doesn't click for me. I was kinda hoping for something a bit different than all-female crew doing heists.
>>
>>39580031
But that's the thing, it wasn't "Cute" at all. The cast could be replaced with big burly Gears of War guys and 90% of the dialogue would still work. I liked the who fair part, including the idol molestation. Maybe it should of been based on that. Heist-Idols, hitting banks with go-pros strapped to the masks.
>>
I think its probably the time, only reason I'm here this late is I'm working the night shift next week.

"We're gonna grab the coke." You say, scrambling to your feet. But damn, your chest still hurts like hell. "Let's go!"

"All right." Sam turns to Lisa. "You got any more of those breaching explosives?"

"I got three left." Lisa narrows her eyes. "Making a shortcut?"

"Better than fighting our way through the whole boat." Sam points out as enemy fire from inside the bridge lances out again.

"True." Lisa nods and starts planting the charges directly onto the deck. "Better take some cover, then!"

You all back off as Lisa plants the charges. She closes her eyes as she hits the trigger. The charges explode, caving the deck in straight down to the cargo hold. FRAG-E then barrels in, dropping down the hole, and you can see why. There's a huge horde of Mafia goons chasing after it.

"Go go go!" You yell as you drop down. You land on top of FRAG-E, which seems to have landed on top of a poor Cartel goon.

"So you think you can take my coke?!" You hear an accented grunt. You look up to see a man wielding a pair of automatic shotguns. Behind him, you could see a massive pile of coke bags. "Well you gotta bleed for it, first!"

The time was probably a large factor, yeah. This quest ran at like, what--10? 10:30 PM PST? Lotta folks are asleep by then, and Europe hasn't even started waking up.

I was going to call you on bullshit, but a quick jump to the catalog proves that quite a few quests run late Sat. Not a bunch, but enough. Granted I haven't read any of them, nor read them on suptg. Maybe the lower poster count coupled with multiple quests is strangling quests?

Fortunately, you're much faster, and you manage to get your LMG in line first, pumping your entire loaded belt into your opponent. You couldn't be sure if he was coked up or not, but you watched Scarface enough to know not to take any chances. FRAG-E also opens fire, further shredding the Cartel leader to ribbons.

"Holy shiiiiiiit." Sam gasps when she jumps down. "That guy didn't stand a chance."

"Yeah, he did get kinda fucked up." You sigh, still trying to catch your breath.

Suddenly, the whole yacht shudders and begins to list to the side.

"Huh, looks like maybe I put a bit too much oomph in those charges." Lisa frowns.

LOOK. FREE BOAT. Artya points.

"Well what do you know." Sam laughs.

Sure enough, there was a small speedboat stowed in the cargo hold, no doubt as an emergency escape vehicle. These were the kind of boats designed to outrun anything the cops could put on the water.

"Aw yeah, that's what I'm talking about!" You laugh. "Come on, let's get in before those Mafia and Cartel goons catch up with us."

WHAT ABOUT THE COKE? Artya asks.

"Just torch that shit. We can't afford the extra weight." You say.

Artya looks at the coke rather longingly.

"Yeah, I think Carly's got a point." Sam agrees. "Let's torch that shit and go."

And just like that, one thrown incendiary grenade causes the entire pile of coke to literally go up in flames. Under the cover of smoke, you all hope into the speedboat, FRAG-E included, and speed out. You risk a look behind you to see the yacht sinking in to the harbor, which is already swarming with police trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

Meanwhile, you all shirk off your gear and stow it away belowdecks so as note to attract any unwanted attention from the police. No sooner than you do, when a flotilla of police boats and at least one VTOL speed past, none of them giving you a second look.

"Well, that's a mission accomplished, I guess." Sams.

"I guess so." You nod. "Didn't get the coke, but at least we still got a new boat out of it."

BETTER THAN NOTHING. Arty chimes in.

"So, uh, where are we going?" Lisa asks.

"Hmmmmm, how about we take a couple of days off? I know this bitchin' lakeside resort we can hang out at." You muse.

"That doesn't require any breaking or entering, does it?" Lisa asks suspiciously.

"No, no, totally legit." You laugh.

"Well, I'm game." Sam laughs as she hugs you from behind. "Let's go!"

"So what do you think?" The Russian smiles as she watches her newest crew make their escape.

"You really should have told me, Vladilena." The Old Heister grunted in frustration. "How could you go around my back like that?"

"They're old enough to make their own decisions. They can't be your children forever." The Russian shrugs casually as she lights a cigar. "Besides, you can't deny they have a lot of promise."

"I suppose." The Old Heister shakes his head. "But if anything were to happen to them..."

"I'll be ready and waiting." The Russian laughs.

However, even though he was angry, actually, beyond furious, as he made his exit, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of pride for his girls. Even if he didn't agree with their life choices, the Russian was right. They did ahve a lot of potential. Who knew where it would take them?

"Good luck, Sam, Carly." He muttered to himself, unable to suppress a grin. "You're gonna need it."
