You were forcefully implanted a brain chip that made you into little more than a working drone, after escaping your homeworld you somehow got yourself into the Inquisitorial Cruiser “Speculum Animæ”.>Main Mission: - Become stronger and fight the Magus that installed the chip on your brain.>>Secondary Missions:- None>>Optional Missions:- Try to destroy the heretical information stored on your brain.
Now you knew pretty good how the Æterna temple managed their inner workings while you were out but they still needed a leader, they were warriors and their fierce spirits needed a leader that taught and guided their fury. Even if the temple didn’t plunged into chaos during your absence you needed to take your role or otherwise they would try to fight each other for your actual position. Slowly you moved away from the pregnant couple and looked around; people training, weapons being fired, the massive heat and the smell of oil and sweat mixed floating in the air next to the specks of dust that looked like small shiny crystals under the sickly light of the halogens. This wasn’t like the forge you were grown in but they also manufactured and built something to some degree. In those halls and areas spirit warriors were forged, blood loyalties towards both the Emperor and the Omnissiah were built and warrior mentalities were programmed. This was a fabricatorium to some degree; A fabricatorium of warriors and defenders of the Machine Cult. You exited the place and headed towards the office of the Inquisitress Karelia. There was much stuff you had to talk about. She had been meddling with the minds of pretty much everybody you knew, you were an exception as he powers had no effect on your brain and right now you were the personification of a security copy. You, besides the own Inquisitress, were the only one who knew the original story of what the Penal legion, Mellizune and Liwet lived. In some way it kind of reminded you what they did with your mind.
>>39587575In front of you stood her rich and heavily decorated mahogany doors. Before you could call you felt as if the dozens of eyes of the cherubs, angels and saints that decorated the entrance were somehow looking at you.A voice that came from a hidden vox caster startled you.>“Enter in, but do it now, I don’t have much time to spend on you, paradox.”Your suspicion was confirmed when the gate opened automatically, Karelia knew you were in there.( Choose only one )>Enter and ask her about the memory erasing.>Enter and ask her about the mission we are heading into.>Enter and tell her about the success of the mission she entrusted>Enter and ask her about something else ( Write in )>She surely had a good reason to do so. Walk away.>Write in.
>>39587601>Enter and ask her about the mission we are heading into.
>>39587601>Enter and tell her about the success of the mission she entrusted>Ask about details of 'Liwet's' past. If she intends for us to play along, we should have our facts straight. Express a little curiosity as to why she did that.Finaly, Ax.

>>39587762fine, bu we had a lot to talk about. She'll know we finished I'm sure, but she isn't getting the report then.>>39587601>Enter and ask her about the mission we are heading into.
>>39587601>Enter and ask her about the memory erasing.Got to get our story right
>>39587601>>Enter and tell her about the success of the mission she entrusted
>>39587730>Finally, Ax.Yeah sorry. I had a lot of stuff to deal with today. Today's quest will run far longer to repay the lateness. Going with both >Enter and ask her about the mission we are heading into.and>Enter and tell her about the success of the mission she entrustedBecause you guys are cool players.
>>39587874Hop on Skype friend
>>39587874I got here late, but I think we really should have asked her for the details of the memories she's implanted into Liwet (and hell, Mellizune for that matter)
>>39587601>Enter and tell her about the success of the mission she entrusted>Enter and ask her about the mission we are heading intoYou were scared but she was an agent of the Imperium and you were her adept and also the responsible of the Skitarii of her own cruiser. You had fought daemons and beasts so far, there was no need to be scared of her, yet those words sounded hollow and meaninglessness on your mind. She was once again on her desk, this time there wasn't documents nor any other mess on her workplace, her surroundings just like her looked clean and ordered. Her mask hid her eyes but you kind of knew that she was looking at you the moment you stepped into her office."The mysterious Heracor Nahive, what a pleasure."There was a mix of fear, and sarcasm on her words but also honesty and gratefulness, it seemed that she trusted you more now that you finished with the purging of the frigate."Greetings Inquisitress of the Ordos Hereticus Karelia Herrmann. I am here now that my senses and my conscience has returned to my body to talk about the success of the mission you entrusted me with."She stood up and slowly surrounded the desk to walk towards you. "It is obvious that you encountered some trouble, not only because of your stay on my medicae bay but also because of your newly acquired armor and objects. An Impressive regalia indeed."It was true, your new armor and bionics were essentially the same as before but built with other materials and decorated with mechanicus symbols and messages of praise in both High Gothic and Lingua-technis. You didn't knew if being honest and telling her of what happened in the frigate was a good idea so you stood silent and just confirmed it."Indeed, there were some pests around but we managed to deal with them." You said with a half-truth."And that's why I want to gift you with this, Skitarius." From her pockets she grabbed a two purity seals, one had the insignia of her Ordos and the other of the Mechanicus.
>>39588239I know the MC is (udnerstandably) afraid of her and the fact she goes around mindwiping everything but I honestly like Karelia. She comes across just like a brutally sincere hardliner.
>>39588239We might want to check those for spying device later. If there aren't then my opinion of her will rise I suppose. A little.
>>39588304I can't really hate her either, the things she make people forget would cause most to go insane or become cultist themselves.
>>39588239By the way, I'm not too terribly versed in Warhammer lore, what are purity seals? Like medals in the army? What are they made of and how do you wear them usually?
>>39588359The purity seals? Are you suggesting that the inquisitor might taint the purity of them by inserting bugs into them? Heretic! But seriously, I doubt she has. Unless perhaps they have a positional tracker, which is a standard thing to stick inside or something. Not that it ever hurts to check.
>>39588422Here's a detailed reference: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Purity_seal
>>39588239You felt really honored as she placed them on your body, the Ordo one close to your heart and the other on the side of your head, close to your brain. It was strange, even if she was a scary person her touch was careful and even motherly to some degree. Now that she seemed to be more relaxed you tried to change the subject."I do know that we are heading into the Charonis System but could you please inform me of what our work will be among those stars?"She turned around and walked back towards her workplace without answering you, when she was seated she nodded and started speaking."Charonis is an easy to enter yet nigh impossible to leave system. There are heavy gravity tides that make travelling between the different planets and moons safe but impact when the preparations to make a warp jump are being activated."With the click of a button she activated a holo-screen that showed a moon with dozens of destroyed ships and other debris floating around its orbit."Most of its planets are also poisonous to human life and their colonist need breathers to survive in the unprotected areas. The fact that there are so many spaceships unable to leave and shipwrecks has created a great society of voidborns that are both afraid of leaving the system and entering its planets."The screen showed many different points between the planets where Space Stations were built and how many people lived in each."About our mission? We don't have one but many. For starters we have to visit the planetary governor Arnika Hermann; Rodan's older sister. My "lovely" sister-in-law...She has to know about her brother's death. There is also the ceremonial grave exchange between the different Space Marine chapters; the Space Wolves need their lost battle brother, there is finally a third mission but you don't have to know intel about it."She closed the holo images and then pushed another button, you heard the doors on your back opening their lock again, you had to leave.
>>39588570Good, now you were with way more questions than before. You wanted to know more information and gather data about that system. A place where the recovery and study of ships and their technology was something daily sounded like a paradise for the members of the Adeptus Mechanicus.Maybe you could find more information about it on the DataBanks. On the other side you could ask about the mission to the Space Marine Juliannus or ask the sisters; Mellizune or Liwet if they know anything about the third mission. As a last option you could return to the Skitarii temple and start managing it, it was time to make changes on it.>Get information about the Charonis System.>Ask Juliannus about the grave exchange and what it is.>Ask Mellizune or Liwet if they know anything about the last mission.>Start managing the temple.
>>39588721>>Ask Juliannus about the grave exchange and what it is.
>>39588721>Start managing the temple.
>>39588721>Ask Juliannus about the grave exchange and what it is.Gotta continue to avoid the sisters until we talk to Karelia about the memories.
>>39588721>Start managing the temple.>Before leaving, inform of the monthly adjustments to Mellizune's bionic spine, in case she has not been informed about it.
>>39588721>Ask Juliannus about the grave exchange and what it is.Should we confide in him what happened on the frigate?Other than that we should make sure our temple is outfitted with rebreathers in case any of them need to go planetside (though I find that unlikely) and otherwise inform them on where we're heading
>>39588721>Start managing the temple.Something tells me the time it takes getting limited info would be better spent preparing for whatever things are gonna be.
>>39588795>Before leaving, inform of the monthly adjustments to Mellizune's bionic spine, in case she has not been informed about it.Yeah. This is another important thing we need to talk to her about.
Also hygine rules, should we implement any changes in the temple? Like showering more often and regular cleaning ect ect?I imagine after an encounter with nurgle spawn I'd be cleaning myself religously afterwords
>>39588795>>39588843>>39588721Yeah that spine issue is important.
>>39588866>cleaning myself religouslybadum-tish
>Ask Juliannus about the grave exchange and what it is.3 votes>Start managing the temple.3 votes.Today I'm in a really good mood so I'll make the MC question Juliannus by radio while travelling back to the temple.>Before leaving, inform of the monthly adjustments to Mellizune's bionic spine, in case she has not been informed about it.I'll add this.>Also hygine rules, should we implement any changes in the temple? Like showering more often and regular cleaning ect ect?I'll leave a write in so you guys can add any rule that you want.
Things for skitarii temple, seperate combatants by specializations if any. If you want to be a marauding flame maniac thats fine, but you probably need different accommodations than someone who wants to be a living gunship or a melee beserker. In addition we might want to set up training courses for those people. We should allow arena battles as a way to settle disputes, fights are to submission or incapacitation. Any electronics lost in the arena shall be either restored or recycled if needed. Death matches are explicitly banned as being highly inefficient for both technology and otherwise. Anyone who dissents against these changes is requested to form an orderly petition that has a significant amount of signatures on it to be turned in to the current leader (us), if this does not elict a proper response than arena matches are permitted. Note: Intentional murdering of people in the arena is still murder, accidental is regrettable yet acceptable.
>>39589049Let's also set up team matches to foster cooperation. Either against another team or an especially strong opponent can work.Different scenarios can also be worked in to encourage adapting o different situations, such as a match that's a bit like dodge-ball where you assume you're fighting someone who's weapon can kill you with one shot no matter what, to practice avoiding fire. Or one where they have to stay in a certain area under the assumption that leaving it would mean death for whatever reason, to practice fighting with reduced mobility.
>>39589229We need to focus on squad tactics and survival during engagements
>>39588721Before leaving you commented Karelia about the monthly enlargement that her daughter's artificial spine needs and how that time was close to come. She looked at you funny and then stood up quickly while pointing at you with her gloved fingers."I already knew of this necessity, one of the first things that I did was to take her to a medical examination and the Doctors informed me of this. Thing is...how is that you know it too?"In less than a second what once started like a friendly advice turned into an attack aimed at you. You couldn't tell her that you were the one who left Mellizune paralyzed, she was a mother and even if it was an accident she wouldn't doubt to execute the one that hurt her beloved offspring. You hated to lie but in this occasion you couldn't think of another option."I-I knew it too due to my position as the new leader of the Skitarii. Since I have a bionic spine and I am close both to you and her I had access to the information and decided to read about it."Your voice was mechanized, your face was expressionless, your bionics didn't shown any corporal language due to their mechanic nature and your brain was blinded against her violating powers. Even a trained person like her was unable to catch your lie. If you were just a lowly techpriest she wouldn't had doubted and ordered you executed but you had a credible alibi and thus begrudgingly ended believing you under her breath."Leave already Heracor. I am busy now.">Ask Juliannus about the grave exchange and what it is.As you left the room with a respectful bow you tried to find the Herald of Vengeance marine Juliannus Dommusalba. Finding him probed to be a pain because of how hidden and encrypted his channel ended being but finally after the third try you managed to contact with him."Greetings honorable Marine. I am Heracor Nahive, leader of the Skitarii of this, our Cruiser."
>>39589373We're assuming Julianus doesn't remember us then? Dammit Karelia.Guys whatever we do, do not mention Noctum or anything sounding close to it around Liwet. If anything would make her remember it'd be that.
>>39589373Because we worked on the spine with other techpriests and medics, obviously. How could she not know that, gosh.
We should probably minimize discussion with liwet about past events, if it comes up we make excuses, however we can offer her assistance and generally be nice to her. Also in her defense, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't want to remember any of that shit anyway. The penal legion I can't say the same for. Is it even possible to mindwipe a space marine though?
>>39589530>Is it even possible to mindwipe a space marine though?I'm confident in saying that she hasn't modified the memory of the space marine. That's far beyond her station.
>>39589530Yeah is actually SOP to wipe out(read kill) IG who fight deamons and know of bad shit, and mindwipe SMs.>>39589552You'd think so, but you'd be surprised.
>>39589530Yes. Grey Knights do it since it'd be a waste to execute them like they do with IG soldiers.
>>39589571Aren't most space marines consistent of almost entirely soldiers who have faced chaos and not snapped. In addition aren't IG who fight demons or demonic monstrosities and perform admirably often used as a recruitment ground by the Inquisition and occasionally by SM? >>39589605I thought grey knights didn't need it because half of them are either nulls or psykers that are strong enough not to get corrupted by chaos?
>>39589373A loud reverberating voice answered you. There was no background noise, it seemed that you caught him in one of the few moments of the day when he wasn't training or praying."I know who you are, my first contact in twenty years and an oath breaker...What do you want now?" Beep. You stopped on your tracks towards the temple dumbfound by how rudely he spoke to you. You couldn't mistreat him thought, that would just be asking for trouble."Yes, correct. I am also an adept under Karelia's wings. I have been recently informed that we might attend a Astartes grave exchange. Could you tell me what it is?" Beep."The name is pretty descriptive. If a Battle Brother dies outside of their world and another chapter manages to recover the body we then held a ceremony, bigger or smaller depending on the rank and the merits of the deceased person. The chapter that recovered the body hands it to its rightful place and the receiving ones gift the other with weapons or other objects. The recovering chapter can also deny those gifts, to some chapters this is seen as a rude demeanor, to others it shows humbleness and increases their diplomatic relations. In the case of the Space Wolves accepting the gifts will be for the best."It was an interesting concept. Among the Skitarii if one managed to recover the dead body of other of its kin from another temple the deceased ally would surely be recycled instead of handled safely. After a brief silence he continued with his speech, it seemed that the following words were ones that he didn't wanted to pronounce but that he had to because he was honorbound."You were the one that found the sword and the corpse. You can be considered for the receive of gifts alongside me and Mellizune as she was in the transport too."Once again you had to stop to process all that. Was he really honest with it? Could you truly receive gifts from the Space Wolves? You needed some minutes to relax and then enter the temple.
>>39589628>Aren't most space marines consistent of almost entirely soldiers who have faced chaos and not snapped.Depends on the chapter, some are, some aren't. The ones who rarely face chaos usually get wiped, specially if grey knights are involved. >In addition aren't IG who fight demons or demonic monstrosities and perform admirably often used as a recruitment ground by the Inquisition and occasionally by SM? Ig are expendable, if they aren't immediately sent into another fight they'll usually be culled to make sure no heresy is spread. The exception is when they are few enough of them and they are so skilled an inquisitor takes them for troops, which is rare. (Heracor got lucky) SM don't recruit from Ig cause to be a sm you gotta start at like 13 or younger. Although they might take them a serfs on rare occasions.
>>39589697Alright, the next posts will be a copypaste of the possibilities of the temple. Please be patient for the following wall of text.
>>39589628Grey Knights are the ones doing the mind wiping, not being the mind wipees. And they're all psykers.
>Skitarii Temple Philosophias ( Way of thinking ): 1. Survival of the fittest: The temple acquires a meritocracy hierarchy system. The warriors who have been proven to be strong or to get war merits might opt to ascend into the pyramidal hierarchy and have access to better quality bionics and also obtain control over some lower ranked Skitarii. If this is chosen a Skitarius could challenge you to a fight for your title at any time and you couldn’t reject it.2. Steel over flesh: The temple sacrifices some of their training grounds to turn them into fabricatoriums to mass produce new and more bionic parts. The warriors become heavily augmented even by Skitarii standards. They turn more elite and adaptable to threats but need almost as twice as time to train and to build the components of their bodies. Their inhuman appearances also make diplomacy relations more difficult unless intimidation is needed.3. Swift and silent: Focus on stealth and speed. Instead of being pure warriors they concentrate on using architectonic and informatics knowledge into sabotaging enemy structures, vehicles or cogitator systems. They would get sound dampeners, camaleonine cloaks and specialize on explosives and hacking.
>>39589701We didn't get lucky, we performed multiple commendable acts on the ground, saved countless lives, assisted in coordinating the death of a greater demon, recovered a living and deceased space marine, and led an attack on a heretek. Our actions were more than enough to guarantee someone somewhere would notice. Thankfully that someone wasn't khorne...
>>395897974. Death from afar: The troops focus on attacking from a great distance. They receive training in the use of sniper rifles, support vehicles like basilisk and the higher ups even receive transmitter to order orbital bombardments if available. They become more of a support group than an army.5. Elemental warfare: Each troop chooses into one of the many elements to pick on and devotes all their life and body to that particular element. For example if they pick fire they will reinforce their armor and bionics with fireproof materials and equip themselves with a flamer weapon that might accompany them for decades. There are many elements they can choose from being some more common that the others. Most common elements are wind, fire, earth and ice.6. Full melee: Investing into technologies like heavy armor and close combat weapons you can turn your army into an unstoppable wave that destroys everything on its path. Chainswords and ceramite armors become the norm and the leaders get access to even more powerful defensive and offensive inventory7. Warmasters of puppets: Every Skitarii is given a servitor or a servoskull that they can modify and upgrade as they see fit. If they ascend in the echelons they get access to better weapons and objects to fit them and also control over higher numbers. Warfare is done from a safe distance with every Skitarii controlling a number of servitors between one and twenty at the same time. This will make them into a very versatile armor and Skitarii casualties will pretty much fall to zero. It will be very resource draining has there will be the need of transform and equip a lot of people into servitors/servoskulls. While controlling a lot of combat servitors at the same time isn't very restraining for a trained mind the connection can be severed by many ways like daemonic possession, psyker powers, combat damage, or a failure in the wave repeaters.
>>39589806I meant getting Karelia to save the citizens. If her own troops hadn't gotten offed they'd be executed skilled or no.Also fuck chaos.
Do you guys want me to write it all and then vote or to go voting as I write?
>>39589806Death of a Daemon Prince, anon. Twice it seems (they must've re-summoned him I guess).
Write all options and then we vote, I'd rather see the options.
>>39589868As I said at >>39589883 all listed options would be nice, also are we picking one or multiple?
>>39589873Noctum wasn't a full deamon prince, Otherwise we wouldn't have beaten him. My guess was Hekatonheir kept respawning him so he could get free.>>39589868All the options. please
Personally I'd like a mix, or completely unique philosophy. I'm thinking everyone can find a niche that suits them, and they focus on both self-improvements and teamwork, even with those who use different combat philosophies.
>>395898328. Gears of a Greater Machine: The Temple divides in smaller squads of five persons lead each one by a leader. They will pretty much act with the same hierarchy and system as the Imperial Guard.9. Omnissiah Hereticus: By increasing the services and the deals with the own Inquisitress we give our lives and services to the hunt of Heretics and act as another branch of Karelia’s military prowess. We will get access to specialized bionics but have to follow their orders completely.10. Write in: In case you can think of a better way of thinking then feel free to write in. Every option will be considered.>Those are all the phylosophyas. Going with the tech trees right now.
>>39590051>Technology trees (Those options will make the temple focus on one chosen types, the rest will still be available but become harder to manufacture and/or obtain):Armor • Heavy Armor: If you choose to develop this technological skill the forges will smelt strong and dense metal alloys to create heavy armor to fit your Skitarii with. Heavy armor offers a lot of protection but decreases speed, stealth and general agility. • Tactical Cuirass: This light yet somewhat bulky armor permits to carry an assortment of tools, ammo and objects that could be used in a mission or warzone. It is made with reinforced fibers that might stop a bullet or a small blade but that will end becoming damaged if attacked enough. • Daedalus frame: A light armor that has a small jet engine and some retractable wings that permit quick ascensions, gliding and even orbital descents. Upgraded models even permit full flight. They are highly tactical but offer little protection.
Thoughts thus far:>Survival of the fittest:Only if there are three or so tiers. Too may breeds envy and pettiness, but a few will give everyone goals to work towards and help structure the command chain to facilitate quickly organising a fighting force.>Steel over flesh:Heracor has been following this principle in general and I feel that a more heavily augmented elite is best, even if it does take longer to train. The better they fight, the less casualties, the less they need new recruits. It's more efficient.>Death from afar vs Full meleeI'm always partial to melee skitarii personally, but that aside, this bunch of skitarii thus far have tended to fight in closed environments rather than in a place where long range fire and artillery are more useful. Not to mention that even in large scale fights there's still a lot of melee going on and not having a competent frontline will see you overrun. I personally would like to see a melee focus, but not going PURE melee.>Elemental warfareI feel this has the potential to make the skitarii too unadaptable if they focus on singular methods too much. It doesn't get my vote.>Warmasters of puppetsLess casualties is something that Heracor would definitely approve of. However, with the resource intensive aspect of it being an issue, I'd rather see steel over flesh make the individuals more robust themselves than to focus on servoskulls. Making it a secondary focus would be good though, if nothing else the practise of controlling servoskulls would be good for honing the mind and concentration.
>>39590076• Machina Nanogeneratio: This medium armor brings with it a small nanomachine generator that takes the form of a crystal container filled with a shiny green gel. In its interior there are nanomachines programmed with very simple machine spirits and two parameters: REPAIR and ATTACK. If they are ordered to repair they will exit the container and sacrifice themselves to slowly cover the damage that was endured on the battle. If programmed to attack they will turn red and the container can be launched as a projectile that will break and liberate a swarm that will sacrifice themselves to choke and bleed out the enemies it catches. The nanomachines need light or heat to stay stable, otherwise they will die after five minutes, if applied electricity they will multiply in numbers. The nanomachines as a weapon are only used as a last resource item and when it comes to its use as a repairing object it can take days to repair a plasma rifle to fully condition. The machines itself are weak to fire, acid and wind, they can also be possessed or reprogrammed and used against their users.• Gigas Mechanica: This conversion requires the removing of the four limbs and encases the torso and the head into an armored frame connected to powerful piston powered limbs. The lower ranked Skitarii will simply have their limbs exchanged with bionics counterparts to make them get used to them; the highest ranking members will have unique and personalized armors that can also be fitted for extreme environments like deep sea, lava or void.• Write in: If you are creative and can think of a good armor that isn't too edgy and fits in the 40kverse then feel free to add it!
Personally I'm a fan of>8. Gears of a Greater MachineIt also means that when we give an order to our underlings, they can then coordinate there squad to do it most effectively, taking some effort off of us.
>>39590130>Ranged Weapons:• Laser: Easy to use, manufacture and the ammunition can be recharged in any power socket. They are weak unless used in mass.• Plasma: Strong yet unstable. Those kinds of weapons use hydrogen fuel cells that burn like a miniature sun and are able to punch thru most armors and targets. They are somewhat more expensive and hard to produce and can explode if their machine spirits are not handled correctly.• Melta: These weapons can superheat the air and create a beam that is able to turn to slag any material, especially useful to destroy fortifications and vehicles. They don’t have a lot of reach.• Slug: This kind of weapons can be built into many kinds of forms and styles and they can have much different kind of ammunitions to use as the situation requires. They barely require any training and can be found pretty much on any Imperial world.• Explosives: Using chemical reactions and mechanical propellants we can build grenade and missile launchers to fit our Skitarii with. These weapons don’t have a lot of cadency of fire but they are especially useful when it comes to destroying vehicles or buildings. Like slug weapons there are different kind of ammo for these kinds of weapons.
>>39590094Adding to this,>Gears of a Greater MachineGood synergy with survival of the fittest.>Omnissiah HereticusNope, that is not the place for the adeptus mechanicus. They must attend to their own tasks first and foremost and lend aid to her when they can spare it.
>Close Combat Weapons:• Blades: Blades are one of the most effective and primitive weapons, using our modern techniques and forges we can build swords of many shapes and lengths. If this is chosen we will focus on equipping ourselves with blades and the most ranked members will have more exotic options like power weapons. Blades are good against infantry but inefficient to combat more armored enemies.• Blunt: Using the most direct way to focus the crude force of oneself using blunt weapons one can impact and damage anything that hits. It is less useful against infantry but can cause more damage to armored targets.• Chain: As soon as one human mind discovered that the power of a combustion engine could be fused and mixed with the strength of a blade then the first chain weapon appeared. First built into tools they soon developed into weapons such as the iconic chainsword. • Cestus: Fist weapons that can be as simple as spiked knuckles or as technological as a power fist. Most of those weapons are easy to hide and can be used in conjunction with ranged weapons so the time to change between one weapon or another becomes minimal.
>Extra gear (Choose 2 ):• Grenades• Auspex• Augmented lenses ( Thermal, Night vision & X-Ray )• Long Fall Boots• Xeno-translator• Servo-skull• Vox Caster• Life extending drugs• Medi-pack• Weapon Dendrites ( Choose 1 kind of ranged or melee weapon )• Training with another kind of armor. (Choose which one)• Training with another kind of ranged weapon. (Choose which one )• Training with another kind of melee weapon. (Choose which one)>Choose their colors and motif:You are the new leader and 90% of the temple accepts you as the rightful successor. They reject the teachings of Anabelle and while they do not want to forget that old chapter they think that a new aspect would be beneficial to make the recruits understand that they are living a new episode of the temple and thus why they might carry new colors and icons. Choose three colors and one icon that is related with something mechanical or is an animal.

>>3959005110.Unique yet United: Everyone is free to chose their preferred fighting styles and philosophies, but they learn how to fight together, complement their strengths, and cover their weaknesses.adding with a bit of Survival of the fittest/Gears of a Greater Machine combo (with limitations on the first one) and some Warmasters and Puppets for less casualties. The lower ranked Skitarii will simply have their limbs exchanged with bionics counterparts to make them get used to them; the highest ranking members will have unique and personalized armors that can also be fitted for extreme environments like deep sea, lava or void. This isn't so contrary to sneaking with sound dampeners and chamoline cloaks. It seems like this kind of choice always ends up with a huge clusterfuck where each and every person comes up with slightly different yet totally exclusive lists.
>>39590299To specify: Getting higher in the hierarchy isn't about getting better weapons and bionics. Most are available from the start. You ascend not through strength, but by proving you are responsible and are capable of leading others. This comes with the understanding that you are responsible for your subordinates, and their well being. Someone who would use them as meat shields doesn't get promoted even if he's an exceptional fighter.

One of the nice things in this quest is the fluff and overly in depth options we get for shit like this, which not only give me that sweet sweet fluff and lore to shoot up directly into my veins, but it also allows us to feel a lot more involved.

Or maybe the skittari prefer metal augs they should be available as well for all for the sake of blessed body which is efficiency and perfection.
So we need a consensus. I don't think we should randomly decide on this one.Personally I'm fine with this>>39590473 with some of this>>39590544.
>>39590755Actually there are no biomods besides Space Marine. Altering the holy human form is heresy in the Imperium.
>>39590802I could of sworn there were techpriests who employed bio auged skittari forces. Usually much more common under Biologica Magos who preferred having their forces equipped in such a way.
>>39590812i also vote two
>>39590812Option 1, though maybe with chain instead of fist melee. Melta over flamer is also tempting.
>>39590854Wait, I messed up, let me repost
Let's make a small summary:>>39590384>Option 1Pyramidal meritocracy hierarchy that form squads and is heavily augmented. They all carry heavy armors that can fall from almost any height and use fists to close combat and flamers or plasma to fight. >>39590392>Option 2Everyone is free to chose their preferred fighting styles and philosophies, but they learn how to fight together, complement their strengths, and cover their weaknesses. They have all heavy and strong armors and are mostly equipped with slug weapons ( Heavy Stubbers ) and chain weapons ( Eviscerators ). They also carry augmented lenses and grenades>>39590443>Option 3Augmented squad based army that can repair itself to a slow pace and have servo-skulls and vox casters, each leader also chooses what kind of weapons their soldiers have.>>39590473>Option 4Small squads that complement each other. They wear variable use tactical armors: Harder to maintain for prolonged periods of time, this armor's main strength is that it is easily modifiable by a techpriestt. skitarii or even skilled guardsman, to fit a variety of roles based on the wielder's choice. They use melta weapons to destroy and sabotage and use lasers for combat. When it comes to close combat they use fists.>Alright. I have written a small description of each option so voting becomes easier. You guys need more time to think about it or you can start voting from the options?
>>39590851Probably basic stuff like enhanced muscles and vision. Biologically stronger but not changing or adding anything.Humans in 40k got that arrogant 'we are already perfect biologically and don't need to improve anything' attitude.
>>395909204 although 2's methodology is better.
>>39590920>Option 5also like 4
>>395909204Army managment is fun
>>395909202 because of that army capability
>>39590920This again >>39590888

>>39591006I guess since I'm voting for an option that won't win I'll switch to>option 2, but switching slug weapons for something else.Slug weapons rely on solid ammo which requires heavier munitions and is more wasteful with resources - kind of a problem when your sect is based on a spaceship.
Seems like people want either option 2 or 4. Ok let's make a second round of voting with only those two options. Five minutes of voting before selecting the winner
>>39591065>2, but with a different ranged weaponDue to reasons stated >>39591056
>>39591065Honestly 2s methodology with 4's equipment seems best to me.
>>39591065>>39591094I like 2's methodology with 4's Equipment too.
>>395910652's methods with 4's weapons sound good. maybe with higher ups having higher caliber weapons.
I'll succumb to peer pressure, 2s methods and 4s equipment because why the hell not.
So we have a tactically efficient and adaptable army that crries a variety of weapon payloads to counter infantry(las and nades) Heavy infantry(swords and nades) Super heavy infantry(missiles nades and running) and vehicles(launchers and maneuverability).Very efficient use of troops and resources.
Shit, I accidentally removed the Laptop's battery. Alright voting time is over. Gonna count the votes now.>23 votes>42 votes>2s methods and 4s equipment5 votesA mix of 2 and 4 is the winner Since option 2 has no motiff nor colors I'm going with the ones of the option 4. Writing them now.

>>39589697After you entered into the temple the people looked and bowed to you. There were many changes to do and the first action you took was going to the vox system and summon every commander and high ranking leader. Once they are all rallied onto your new bureau you made clear that the place needed changes. Not everybody agreed with you but their words fell silent against yours.Honestly, even if you were the leader your military experience was limited at best, you were a unique individual that had been becoming more powerful by your own and thanks to your friends. They should do the same, each Skitarii should find their own path and discover what suits them best. This doesn't means that they all would be alone, every time you found yourself alone your survival chances became pretty much null. Everybody on their own to discover their true power but also accompanied with more warriors of their own kind to increase the survival rate and empower camaraderie. They would be give Variable Tactical Armors. An armor that whose use became unpopular because of how hard became to maintain for the regular guardsmen. It's main strength is how easily modifiable it is and how can be fitted for multiple roles depending on the situation. The warriors would from now on carry a lasgun like regular guardsmen and the most physically strong one in each squad will carry a missile launcher. Still the squad leaders can choose to equip them with other weapons, the own Skitarii can also choose this and do so if their leaders grant them permission. For close combat they were issued standard swords that like the ranged weapons can be exchanged for other options if the leader or the Skitarius want to do so.As an extra wear and to increase survival and adaptability they are also given one frag and krak grenade and a standard med pack.
>>39591876After hours of arguing and discussing you managed to convince them into turning the Skitarii temple into an uniform army with many variably options but still homogeneous in their structure and hierarchy. From that meeting the commanders and captain left both hopeful and angry. They knew that these changes were good but they still hated the idea of enforcing for all the work that it would take.On the training grounds there were many curious Skitarii that tried to get a glimpse of what did we talk about or what was going on.There were still two weeks until the ship reached its destination. Just enough time to enforce the changes and build the necessary weapons and armors. You tried to be hopeful but honestly you were scared of entering into a warzone the moment you entered into the Charonis system. You would have an army but they would have no experience and you as their leader, would be as inexperienced as them...Looking in the distance you saw many servoskulls flying towards the rest of the AdMech school. They all carried scrolls or data-disks that carried the working orders and information so they all started working hard into building all the bionics, armor and weapons that the new Skitarii temple needed.>CURRENT TIME: 20:00>Make a meeting and explain to the Skitarii the new plans of the temple.>After the long meeting you need to vent of. As soon as you opened the door you were blinded by a wave of plasma, fire and laser that was shoot at several moving targets, there were many varied ones like the regular cutouts and others were more hi-tech like holographic targets. On the corners there were some spare machine parts that looked half burnt and broken. It seemed to be divided in three different parts, the first one made you shoot against static bullseyes, it was the most easiest one of the three and it seemed that most of the newly recruited Skitarii were on it.On the second part the targets were the aforementioned moving cutouts of several xenos and different points earned depending on the zone they were impacted in. Most of the regular Tech-Guards were on this level. The last level was the smallest of the three and used highly detailed holographic models of different xenos races that could shoot back and whose projectiles stunned and electrocuted the ones uncareful enough to let themselves to be hit. As you entered a servitor entered and gave you a small screen that was fitted on your chest, as it was turned on it showed the number 000000. You didn't understood what it meant but as soon as you focused more on the other warriors you understood it, it was a score meter. Then on your HUD appeared a list of rewards but also of punishments. The first level was the easier one but also the one that gave the least rewards, the second one was the most balanced. The third level gave the most points but if you were hit bit the holographic xenos you lose.

>>39593841>You are already the leader, there isn't the need of more rewards, return the point counter.Honestly you don't think of yourself as the best marskman of the temple but if you also won the first price the people would become both suspicious and jealous. A nobody that suddenly becomes the leader and is also the best shooter? Everybody would believe that you use tech-heresy to aim your shoots or even darker means of supernatural aid.You removed the screen and returned it to the servitor that looked at it confused and then just returned. Maybe on its simple protocols nobody had returned it in decades and had to search its internal libraries over and over until it found how to act in those rare cases. The five minutes passed soon and then all the screens of the participants locked and stopped increasing. The winner was a woman whose weapon was almost as big as herself but that somehow managed to win everybody else; the loser was a newly recruited girl of barely eight years of age that ironically was also almost as big as her weapon. There was no ceremony but soon a circle of servitors identified the three winners and the three losers and circled them together. The winners received an assortment of presents. The absolute winner received a plasma pistol; the second one received a frag grenade and the third one a monoblade; when it comes to the losers the third one was just reprimanded by the leaders and asked to improve, the second loser was stripped naked and ordered to clean the servitor lavatoriums; when it came the time of punish the third and biggest one the three winners were given leather belts that they used to lash and torture. You didn't had time, the poor youngling was surrounded by Three Skitarii, a ring of Servitors and even more Skitarii that were trying to look at the beatdown. When you managed to reach her the girl was just a crying mess. She was hurt and bleeding but not truly wounded, there wasn't muscular dystrophy nor broken bones.
Alright I'll end it for today. Today has been a really long and stressing day and that's the reason of why I started later than usual. I'll leave as always 30 minutes for questions, archive descriptions, critics and suggestions.Thank you all for playing!

>>39594504Huh, questionable but not that terrible, we don't neccesarily NEED to change this but if we decided to we could go ahead and make the losers receive a reprimand and relatively shitty (but not especially dangerous) work orders, cleaning lavatoriums, repairing maintenance corridors, upkeeping the various plumbing of this ship and all sorts of annoying tedious but important work would be useful.
>>39594584Thanks for running!>>39594628agreed.
