Your name is Sierra Beckhoff. You are the coolest person you know, and with one notable exception, you are probably the most badass. Basically you’re the kind of person who takes care of business and gets the job done.

You’ve agreed to spend a few days over at your friend’s house while her dad’s out of town. Moriah’s good people, so it should be a real hoot. It’s nice to not be worried about schemes and plots again.

--

You’re in Moriah’s room, on an inflatable mattress, surfing the internet on your laptop. The wifi’s named named ‘CrowtherSecure’ and has a really complicated alphanumeric password, so you guess either Mori’s dad is tech savy and set it up himself, or he paid somebody to do it. You can’t imagine anybody else in the Crowther family creating such an impersonal network.

Moriah stopped responding to your chattiness a while ago, so you guess she fell asleep in her royal princess bed thing she’s got going on.

Anyway, something about spying on Roger’s situation up in Canada with the amazing magic of the internet got you thinking. Now, without Moriah around to analyze you, maybe you can figure it out.

You go back to facebook and go to the search for people option. You stare at the blank little bar for a second. Of course, it’s dumb, but you’re just curious. You type, and hit enter.

No posts were found for "nevada beckhoff" that were shared with you, says facebook.

Well. Probably wouldn’t have a facebook page. But you do remember going to some cemetery with Dad, a long time ago. And you remember the smell of flowers. You wish you paid more attention that time.
>>
>>39612961

If you could have looked at the hills or something. You don’t think your eyes started getting bad until after you started growing, and you were pretty small then. If you saw some landmark or anything other than driving for a long time, you might be able to retrace your steps.

How the hell do people remember where everybody’s buried? You can’t even remember the Hallow’s street address without cheating. Somebody should figure out a way where you can google maps people’s graves. Like, type in the name and stuff, and wham, it tells you where to go.

You stop for a moment. Wait. You live in the future. There’s probably something for that. You go to google, and type ‘how to find relative’s grave’ before hitting enter, and click on the first hit, Search – Find a Grave.

Wow. That was a lot easier than you thought it would be. You click the search by 121 million grave records and fill in everything you know. You don’t know the exact date of the boat thing, but you do know the year. You fill in all the other junk as well, and hit search.

Firefox thinks for a second, and spits out a single result.

You stare for a second. You haven’t seen that name written anywhere for a long time. You’re surprised at where she’s at – someplace down near Fresno, by the looks of it. It’s a ways away.
>>
>>39612982

You shut your laptop and sit in the dark for a while, unable to focus on anything much. After a while, you lie back, and a while after that, you fall asleep.

--

With a bright week ahead at Moriah’s, anything’s possible. You think you’re due for some fun times, given Freddie’s paid up on his thousands of dollars. He even sent you a handwritten letter, delivered by Ranthix. He writes an apology for Scott’s actions against Rowan, and tells you that the new Ettenrhine will have no grounds for enmity between angels and demons. He closes by expressing his thanks for your invaluable support.

Anyway, you’re in a good position to have some serious hangout times with Moriah all week, excepting, perhaps, the necessity of heading into the woods to rip living things to shreds and guzzle their blood.

We should totally start setting up some Independence Day shenanigans. Raise some Zombies, put them in colonial era attire, put them on standby so, on the fourth, we can give the Hallows a fun and easy time.
>>
Maybe the grave is empty? Maybe she's not dead..
>>
>>39613197
Yeah. I really want to go there and either talk to the shadows or try to poke around in her coffin with umbrakinesis to see if anything's there or not.

Or maybe we can ask Moriah to summon her ghost.

That's so cliche......Fuck that means Landguid might have done it because it's so cliche we wouldn't expect it......

Get plenty of art time in, maybe go visit the zoo as well. See if there are any free concerts, festivals, anything like that going on nearby.

See how Mor's DMing plans are going, talk more about Cerra, see if she can identify a picture of our Whale-Crab summon.

Ranthix wouldn't give a fuck. We asked him what wold have happened if Nev was still around and he said, excitedly, that we would have had to fight her to the death unless we wanted to invoke some bullshit ancient legal precedent where twins can be considered the same person if they're 100% identical.

I like how nobody's postulated yet that mom messed up a ritual to steal our body and our youth, thus continuing the long line of imperiates who have been the same person. You must have missed it, because it's happened before.

>thus continuing the long line of imperiates who have been the same person
Yeah, no. That's dumb. The Imperiate isn't a hereditary position, not really. It's held by whoever's the biggest big bad in hell. Anyone can claim to be the Imperiate, it's just a matter of killing everyone who disagrees. Stealing the body of someone who you're already better than is just pointless.

The week goes by normally enough, except instead of going home, you go to Moriah’s place and enjoy her freaking huge house.

With Moriah’s car, infinite money, and a deep seated desire to get out and go get Moriah to live a little, you wind up making some big trip almost every day. You go to some fancy art show Maviel’s taking part in, and on another day you go to the zoo, where you manage to describe and sketch your whale crab for Mori.

“It’s not a hell graboid, it’s an Armored Slogbuh,” she tells you, as the two of you attempt to find where the panther is hiding in its exhibit. “They live in the Daymuth marshes in Beleroth.”

You look back at your hasty sketch, adjusting your baseball cap so the sun’s not burning your nose. “So... what, it’s like some kind of crocodile kind of thing?”

“More like a cold weather hippo,” she says.

You purse your lips. “That spits acid.”

“Flammable acid,” Moriah agrees.

But after a few days, you start to get that needling feeling that tells you that you need to wash in the blood of your prey, figuratively speaking. You talk your friend and cohort into coming along with you, and wind up having a pretty bomb time with Rax, Borislav, and Ranthix’s niece and nephew, Xan and Xath, though it’s only an overnight thing.

The two Inferni are pretty cool, and a lot more level headed than first impressions would have indicated.

Turns out Xanissil is all about blood and blood magic, and that Xathix knows a thing or two about berserker rages. Ranthix could crack both their skulls in a fight, but even somebody only a third as violent and dangerous as Big Red is still pretty dangerous (and violent).

Moriah gets along pretty well with the two, and they seem to give her increased deference due to your demonstrated emotional proximity to her.

You catch Xathix buried in the middle of Harry Potter and the Wizard of Azkaban, and wind up having to answer a few clarification questions on what parts are fact and which are fiction.
>>
>>39614488

Still, you’re glad to see Little Red’s taken up your imposition to get cultured and learn the ways of the mortal realm.

While you’re out hunting and getting beat up by Ranthix and crap, Borislav gets to teaching Mori and Xan some more druid magic stuff, which is pretty neat. Good to see they’re getting along okay.

Going back to school in the morning is a pain, but it’s whatever.

Anyway, too much ice cream, movies, and card games later, it’s almost like the whole week vanished by. Maviel and Wolfgang pop in once or twice to check up, but with Emmaline the housekeeper around to keep you fed, there’s pretty much nothing that could ever go wrong, ever.

You have a lot of fun, and you catch Moriah smiling more than usual, so you think it’s a success. You hope she keeps up the getting out more thing when her dad gets back.

Unfortunately for you, Waldric pops in at one point, and there’s an impromptu Conclave meeting you knew nothing about. And since you’re on hand, there’s no way to wriggle out of it. You’re forced to listen through some boring political crap. Sounds to you like Waldric’s finally made himself the king crab of San Francisco, or how he’s rapidly getting there.

Having the Ulam’uberatu, the Stygian cleric of Belititus on his conclave has gone a long way to legitimizing his claim on the fief. The random demons who’ve moved in since Meckor’s death are more ready to accept the rule of someone with seemingly legitimate support from the church, or whatever it is exactly that Ulam represents.

Foreign powers from down below seem less eager to stake their claims in the fief, especially now that Mardusia or whatever recognizes you guys as a real country. The Archduke’s a useful guy to have on your side, as far as you can tell from matters of business.

Ranthix gets assigned some blow something up assignment, which he seems insulted by, and delegates it to his mini thultal instead.
>>
>>39614488
>“Flammable acid,” Moriah agrees.
Oh fuck yeah. We can have this thing spit on someone/something and then throw a fireball at it and watch it get fucked up.
>>
>>39614521

Orias is apparently working on helping Ms. Song with something, maybe to help butter up the local US representatives so the conclave’s not so reliant on Isaac’s resources. Sounds like Waldric’s a real court rat.

Anyway, about mid way through the meeting, you decide to duck out. Mr. Crowther’s due back soon, and you don’t really feel like being around when that happens.

Moriah is nowhere to be found on the ground floor. Maybe she’s up working on her super-secret surprise engagement present she’s been readying for Maviel. You’ve really pushed your art to the limit this week, but you still think Moriah’s style is awesome. You wonder if she wants to do anything with it when she moves out. Because, you know, she could if she wanted.

You decide to let her concentrate on her business – she doesn’t work well when people are watching – and head over to the green house on a whim. You never knew you’d want a green house in your house, but if it’s filled with black maviels, you don’t think there’d be an option. The squiggly little flower stalks are adorable as hell.

You walk in, and find Wolfgang and Maviel chatting it up over by your secretly highly prized flower wall.

“-off the phone,” says Wolfgang.

“Looks like he made it through again,” Maviel replies, smiling lightly and stroking her long hair over one shoulder.

“He still has a few hundred good years left in him,” he says. He waves a hand around in a violent striking motion. “Atratos!”

“No no, it’s more like this,” Maviel says, replicating the motion exactly, striking forward with a sudden thrust of the palm. “Atratos!” A flurry of colors zap through the air from her outstretched palm.
>>
>>39614545

“Careful there,” warns Wolfgang. “You almost actually atratos’d.”

You figure you’ve spied long enough. You walk in. “Heyo,” you say.

Maviel turns and smiles. “Hello Sierra,” she says. “How’d the meeting go?”

You put on your best imitation of Waldric. “Oh yeah, those Nyphicans are really falling into line, that Belphegoran business owner really getting some support, fief, allegiance, loyalty, unified, blah blah blah,” you say. “It’s pretty dry. It’s like a city council meeting about the underworld. Like. It should be interesting, but it’s all so bland.”

“I’m sure it’s good experience,” Maviel says.

You snort. “For what? Filing my tax returns?”

Wolfgang smirks at your jab.

“If you ever form a conclave of your own,” replies Maviel, “you’ll have a knowledge base to draw on. Dealing with a conclave is an important skill for demons.”

“Maybe if I was doing more stuff,” you say. “Like. There’s surprisingly little to do. I guess that’s as good as it gets, though. Boringness is good in governance. Or at least that’s what they tell me in Civics.”

“It might not be pretty, but it’s the truth,” Wolfgang says, adjusting his suit jacket. “You don’t want that kind of responsibility yet anyway. You’re still in highschool, you should have fun while you can.”

“Highschool’s not my definition of fun,” you say flatly. You turn back at Maviel, giving her a probing look. “Are you and Waldric married yet? And more importantly, I’m going to be invited, yeah?”

Maviel laughs. “Be patient. You’ll have an announcement and an invitation to eat my cake weeks in advance. I’m going to get engaged before you get married,” she says.

“Not if you elope,” you say.

“You should elope,” says Wolfgang, looking over at his sister. “Imagine father’s face.”

“I’m not going to use Waldric to manipulate the look on anyone’s face,” Maviel replies in an overly haughty tone, though you can feel it’s good natured. She pauses to check her phone, and she looks distracted. She stands and smooths out her skirt. “Waldric’s wrapping things up. I’ll see you two later,” she says, leaving the greenhouse.
>>
“So, ‘Atratos’, huh? That your dad’s catchphrase?” you ask, leaning against a planter box. You punch the air toward the wall. “Atratos!”

Wolfgang shivers jokingly, as if recalling some oft repeated trauma. “If you ever see him do anything at all, it’s Atratos all the way. And careful where you’re aiming that thing – the consequences could be dire.”

“How dire?” you ask.

“Dire,” he says, his voice sounding hollow.

“Maximum dire?”

Wolfgang scoffs as if offended. “Don’t be ridiculous.”

“Pfft. You can’t tell me what to do,” you say. “I’ll be whatever I want.”

He smiles and shakes his head, running a hand through his hair. “In all seriousness though,” he says, sobering up a little, “how’d your and Moriah’s week go? Everything go good?”

Okay, so, we'll need to get Moriah's and Isaac's and the Stygian's and maybe Harvey's help for this, if we're doing it to Rowan. We take some abandoned downtown building, clean it up, get some mannequins and a simple robotic looking endoskeleton, but otherwise leave it alone. If we can get the Stygian on the take, we can make it look normal and active during the day, buying pizza from elsewhere in putting it in new boxes in case she comes a looking. Moriah will put shades inside the Animatronics, and Isaac will lie through his teeth about it being something he's too busy to take care of, asking her to do it. We ourselves will set up the shitty power and camera system, make sure her first day is from midnight on March 31st to 6AM on April First.

Then, at 6AM, after being scared shitless by a freaky-as-fuck phone-call from Isaac warning her to just stay in the room and NOT try to take them on herself and then scary as fuck animations trying to get in the room, we suddenly appear on the camera, with everyone who helped, screaming APRIL FOOLS!

“Pretty much,” you say, nonchalant. “We went to the zoo, a hoity-toity art thing, bummed it out at some symphony thing. Good times. Even stalked a few people on facebook.”

“Sounds fun,” says Wolfgang. You’re not sure if he knows you’re being completely factual or not, but whatever.

“Sure is. I think I even caught Mori smiling once or twice, so whatever that means.”

“Whatever that means,” he echoes, waving vaguely. Although you can feel a warm feeling that tells you he is very pleased. “It’s good she asked you to come down. It was either this or being stuck between Mav and Waldric.”

“I heard about that,” you say, making a sour face. “But hey. That’s what friends do best – hide out in your house and eat your food.”

“A good friend helps you move a couch, a true friend helps you move a body?” he asks.

“Yeah, something like that,” you say. “Hey – I was talking to Moriah earlier, she said you made her haunt some dude as a revenge scheme? That’s kind of hardcore.”

Wolfgang makes a face as if he’s just tasted spoiled milk. “I wouldn’t have represented his case in court. Let’s leave it like that.”

“Do they sentence people to hauntings as a part of the US justice system?”

“That’s why I wanted to get into law,” he says, “to revolutionize the whole system to incorporate hauntings as a legalized form capital punishment.”

You snort. “That’d be pretty slick. Although I feel like it’d just encourage mafias to hire exorcists alongside the dudes that dispose of bodies.”

“That sounds like the premise to a TV series,” Wolfgang says, thoughtfully.

You imagine the possibilities. “Law and Order: Paranormal Victim’s Unit.”

Wolfgang chuckles. “That’s my father’s job in a nutshell.”
>>
>>39616425

“That’s cool. Following in footsteps and all that. How’s the law living up to your expectations?”

“Well,” he says, “I’m only on my first year. It’s a long ways until I get my admission to bar, but I’ve already waited my whole life, so a little while more shouldn’t be too long.”

You don’t know if you could sit through school for years and years.

“How about you? You’re on your senior year,” he says. “You’re at the top of the food chain. What are you thinking of doing after you graduate?”

>Uh. I’m kind of more focused on graduating. Or not. Maybe?
>Whenever I make plans, they get shot to hell. So. No plans. I’ll ride it out.

That’s a tough question, and one that you’re not quite sure about yourself. Your only real plans as far as life goes is graduating highschool, and the closer you get to that, the more you become persuaded that you won’t even be able to do that. You decide not to mention that bit of trivia, though.

“I'm like. I'm still working that out myself, I guess,” you say. “There's a lot of stuff going on that’s completely new. Like. I don’t know, the Hallows are still pretty new, even. All my old plans kind of exploded when I met Isaac.”

“Exploded in a good or bad way?” asks Wolfgang.

“Good for sure, but they still exploded,” you reply.

“So long term plans do not exist,” he notes. “What about summer plans? We’ll scale back the timeframe requirements.”

“Probably lots of hunting for landwells,” you say. “I’m thinking pan-American roadtrip adventure, with guns and danger and maybe booze. Until I get my wings, anyway.”

“You really think upping your landwell count will get you wings?” he asks.

“It’s how I got horns,” you reply. “Wings seem like the next logical step.”

“Huh. Well that is a plan if I’ve ever heard one,” says Wolfgang with a nod, an impressed expression on his face.

“Enough about plans and life and crap though,” you say. “What about you? What's new in the court of Wolfy G?”

“Work, school, betrayal. The mundane,” he says with an exaggerated sigh. “It’s hard to be a hellion in this repressive white society.”

“Please. You don’t have to be human to be a white male aged 18 to 34,” you counter.

Wolfgang grins. “You’d make a good lawyer yourself,” he says. “You know though, I’ve been thinking a lot recently - ”

“This should be good,” you say, folding your arms.

“Excuse me?” he asks, his feathers ruffled.

“No no, keep going,” you say.

“As I said previously,” he continues, almost expecting to be interrupted at any second, “I was thinking, and I came to the conclusion that I’m spending too much time with people who don’t know the first thing about me.”
>>
>>39617538

“What’s the first thing about you?” you ask, feigning genuine curiosity.

Wolfgang gives you a humored look. “Same thing as you. We’re not mortal. Never have been, never will be.”

“Barring unfortunate accidents,” you say.

“Barring unfortunate accidents,” he says, smiling a little.

“While immortality is kind of awesome,” you say thoughtfully, “there’s a whole lot of other cool stuff we’ve got that’s arguably even cooler.”

“Indeed there is,” says Wolfgang. “You know, one thing that I think is especially cool about you is that you’re not afraid to stick up for people.”

“Heh yeah,” you say, making an ungracious snorting kind of laugh. You immediately choke yourself off, an awkward, out of place feeling threatening your peace of mind. (+2 Stress: 10) You need to chill out. It’s just a compliment.

A compliment from Wolfgang.

You suddenly become very aware of the fact that it’s just you and the wolf. You don’t think you’ve been alone with him since.... (+3 Stress: 13)

Wolfgang doesn’t seem to notice your unstylishness. “Thanks for being there for my sister,” he says.

“Uh. You’re welcome?” you say, unsure. “But she’s pretty cool. I mean. It’s not like a favor or something.”
>>
>>39617577

He laughs. “I know. That’s what makes you cool,” he says. He pauses for a brief moment, during which you can feel some kind of shift in gear in the vibes you’re getting from him. It’s hard to make sense of the varied impressions swarming you. “You know Sierra,” he continues, “I want to get to know you better. We should hang out some time, me and you.”

You make yourself not do anything you might regret. Is this...?

He says the words. “What are you up to next Friday?”

>Oh. You know. Not much, really.
>Yes. I mean. Uh. Yeah, for sure.
>Do you like paintball? I mean. I haven’t gone, but it’d be pretty sick...

VE can never be normally dominate as it is stated however, when mixed with IN it desperately trys to do so, but with us we have BL in the mix too, and it can never over take that but will always try to be stronger than IF, because of this we never hit the After puberty powers are done growing stage.
VE trys to beat IF but never can, so we never stop growing, then too much power and boom goes the baby

As far as breeding goes, Orias is our other good choice. It's overly skewed towards Infernus/Belphegoran, but its probably the most stable option. It's not adding anything really new, and given the quality of our blood they'll inherit a lot from us.

Assuming that there isn't any exploding, us and Wolfgang will be heavily skewed towards Hellion, but will probably have affinities for shadow, fire, and soul/corrupty magic. If I'm right in my guess, and he's a Shadow mage like his father, we'll have the spookiest fucking kids ever. Which is kinda awesome.

Roger is an enigma, and I doubt that having landmaster heritage on both sides rather than just one does anything.

Baron is Baron, enough said.

Harvey is family, and I have no clue what would happen for a 1/2 human, and approx 1/8th each Seraph, Infernus, Verwelken, Belphegoran would end up like.

For all of the choices, the whole landmastering thing should help any underrepresented ancestry produce results, which is good.

It's the kind of hurt that people try to let blow over and just ignore but that doesn't mean it's not there.

>>
>>39620901

That's not sad enough.

Wolfgang hears her mutter Benjamin in her sleep at night. Eventually he's fed up and tells her that she ought to just go be with this "Benjamin" if she's so obsessed with him.

>>39620901

He's probably one of those fags who goes into every quest and treats it like the win condition is to force everything into a situation where it's impossible for the quest to focus on what it's actually about and instead turn to mundane SoL shenanigans with a light aesthetic dusting of the quest before it got gutted.

Languid told these people to fuck off just like he did to the yurifags, more forcefully if anything, but people don't seem to remember. At least I can take solace in the fact that the Baronfags won't get their wish if they actually win.

I somewhat agree with this. You don't get better from deep rooted issues like these without confronting them. Additionally, we're fucking immortal. Nothing says that we have to fucking marry and live happily ever after with the first guy we decide to date. He's immortal too. We could reasonably date him, Innevitably fuck it up, break up, repeat a dozen times till we finally get over these issues and come back a century or so later and hook back up. Remember folks, life is about making mistakes and having experienced. Waiting for the perfect opportunity will only make you miss everything. oh fuck sorry for the preaching.

>>
>>39621026
>He's immortal too
He's not actually immortal. Pureblood demons live for a really, really long time. Moreso if they're highborn. They're just called immortal because they usually get murdered before they have a chance to die of old age. They can and do get old and drop dead from it, it's just really really rare.

He won't die within the time of the quest unless things get weird and Languid timeskips a few hundred years, but he's still not immortal.
>>
>>39621071
He was our best friend and we miss him. And we couldn't think of a better name for the Imp.
>>
>>39620745
He's generally had good interactions with Sierra, he treats her like an equal and is neither an ass or bootlicker. He's understanding, honest, stable, and keeps up well in conversations with her. On top of this he's handsome, a sharp dresser, good at dancing, and able to magic it up.

Their relationship might not last forever, but it's a good choice to start confronting some of Sierra's issues in a safe way.

Oh yeah. There’s no mistaking this, even for you. But this Friday? You got to do something awesome for your date. You might only get one. It has to be the best.

What’s the coolest thing you could possibly take Wolfgang to go do? What’s the one thing you always wanted to go do with somebody? Something fun, exciting, and like, out of the ordinary?

“Do you like paintball?” you ask suddenly. “I mean. I’ve never gone, but I think it’d be pretty sick. Like. You know, all back to back, shooting people and getting all shot up and... uh.”

“Hold up. Are you going paintballing on Friday?” he asks, trying to clarify the situation.

Wait, you’re confusing him. Take control. You’ve got this. “No, I’m totally going on a hot date,” you inform him. “But I’m asking you to go paintballing with me on that date,” you say.

He gets it. “I see,” he says, surprised. “Well then. I accept. Sounds like a blast.”

He’s surprised? But he’s the one who said it was all right – it is all right, right? “Uh. What happened about your girlfriend?”

You can feel that Wolfgang doesn’t want to talk about it. “We broke up,” he says firmly. “This is about you. Forget her.”
>>
>>39621249
If we put a blindfold on him we could get really freaky.
>>
>>39621637

“Done,” you say. But all this talk about dates – how’s this happen again? You were talking and then.... “Wait, did you have something planned out already?” you ask. What if he had tickets? Would he have tickets? And what would the tickets be for, anyway?

“Nothing much,” he says hastily. “Just some local music show. Paintball sounds way more cathartic. I’m down for anything.”

>Good good. That’s good. So. Uh. Yeah, renting equipment can be kind of pricy, but I’ve got it covered.

Only people who can have land well gifts are: Rebeer, Cass, Sierra.

Ro got hers.

Issac doesn't need one.
>>
>>39622016
You forgot Harvey, Moriah, Wolfgang, and Ranthix as candidates. And I'm not really sure about Cass, it doesn't seem efficient to use a Boon on someone who doesn't have natural magic stuff for it to piggyback off of.

Though I totally agree that Reeber would be a great choice for one, especially since we bring him with us on a lot of our demon stuff.

Harvey? No. I'm worried about Cass's longevity.

Moria doesnt need it at all. Neither does Wolfgang and we don't know him all that well.

Ranthix is fucking fine.

It's not a GIVE AWAY ALL POWER YOU CAN GET TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!
>>

I just realized that the transferable boon we used on Ro is probably the same sort of thing that Hugo used on his goat.

Dunno why, but it makes me giggle.
>>
>>39622195
Ranthix would (maybe) swoon at the thought of receiving a gift from the Imperiate, which would be highly amusing. Also, he'll get even bigger and redder, which is always a good thing.

That being said, I want next boon to go to Reeber.
>sierra's face when reeber gets wings
>>
>>39622195
They're referring to the land well gifts that are explicitly meant for other people, such as the one Rowan got. We lose nothing by giving away the gift.
>>
>Not giving all of the boons to Rowan until she's literally drowning in wings because she's run out of places for more wings to grow externally and they've started occupying her lungs
>>
>>39622312

>>
>>39622195
I'd rather not permanently sink a boon onto Cass to try and help with longevity. It might be powergamey of me, but it doesn't feel overly useful.

Mor and Wolfy would both get solid boosts to their casting, which could be handy, and might get other tricks. They aren't the highest priority, but it would be interesting.

Ranthix would get bigger, redder, more on fire, smell more like victory. Though admittedly it might be excessive, if throwing a Ranthix at the problem wouldn't work, then throwing a bigger Ranthix probably isn't the optimal solution.
>>
>>39622371
>she turns into Simurgh from Worm
>>
>>39622371
Just the whole idea of anytime we give a boon to her it's just another set of wings is fantastic.
>>
>>39622425
Nonsense. If throwing Ranthix at the problem doesn't fix it, you're clearing not using a big enough Ranthix.
>>
“Just some... local music show thing, huh?” you ask. “What kind of music show thing was this thing?”

Wolfgang smiles and shakes his head. “It’s just some café I know. Every couple months they have an open night for local talent. It’s pretty chill from the times I’ve been,” he says. “You play guitar, right? Thought it might be something you’d be into.”

Definitely not something with tickets, then. Just something low key and kind of thoughtful. Dammit. You have to make up your mind. Backpedalling on the paintball thing will make you look wishy washy, but passing up his plans might come off too strong. Neither’s bad – you’d do both. Ugh. Choices.

“Well maybe it does sound like something I’d be into,” you say, noncommittally. You need to discuss this, but not in the house with all these people everywhere. Somebody might be listening in, and you don’t want things unravelling before you’re sure of what’s there to unravel. “So... huh. I mean. You want to go for a walk or something right now?”

“Sure. Lead the way,” he says, gesturing toward the door.

A minute later, you head down the front steps and go out to the sidewalk, Wolfgang close behind. You pause at the street to look at the bright sky, broken by banks of cloud. Good time for a walk, you guess. You pick a direction and the two of you head off down quiet residential lanes.

Here you are, walking along with Wolfgang, all suited up and stuff. Maybe they just dress like that in lawyer school because it’s super serious all the time? It doesn’t look bad.

Now, while you’ve always been of the opinion that Moriah’s brother was kind of attractive, the only time you actually did anything about it was when you were kind of drunk. The more obvious reason of why you might not want to do anything sticks in your brain when you’re not. The fact is, he’s Moriah’s brother, no matter how suave or smart or good at dancing he happens to be.

“I thought you were asking me out back there,” he says. “I should be off the hook.”

“She doesn’t know?” you ask, kind of tensing up. Maybe you can make this work. Or you’ll talk to her? Or it’ll be a forbidden secret. Does this make you a bad person? (+3 Stress: 16)

Wolfgang smirks at you. “I’m kidding. I talked to her about it already,” he says. “Mori’s important to me. I wouldn’t go behind her back like that.”

Phwew. That’s a little off your plate. (-2 Stress: 14)

The real question is why the situation’s different now versus then. “So let me guess,” you say. “You couldn’t deal with the lack of swanky horns.”

“I do admit to having a preference for horns,” he tells you, “though they were not the deciding factor in the previous relationship.”

Lawyer speak. He lies. “You totally dumped her cause she had a perfectly round head,” you say, your tone accusing, but your insides fizzing excitedly.

“The answer is no, but I’m going to answer, ‘Yes, you’re exactly right,’ instead,” says Wolfgang.

You snicker. “I knew it,” you say triumphantly. “It was just a matter of time till you snapped.” And then you think more, and your smirk gets sharper. “I guess this means you kind of like me a little bit, huh?”

“Just a little bit,” he says, holding his thumb and forefinger about an inch apart.

“That’s not so much,” you say, feigning disappointment.

“Sorry, the scale’s not very accurate. It’s more like this much,” says Wolfgang, decreasing the distance by about half.

You chuckle. “Well, I guess if that’s enough for you to go out with your sister’s best friend, you’ve got bigger problems to deal with than being a wiseass.”

Wolfgang frowns, impressed with the retort. “Touché,” he says.

“I guess me and Mori will talk later,” you say. “She’s pretty chill about stuff, so I don’t think it’ll be a problem.”

“It won’t be,” Wolfgang assures you. He thinks for a second. “About the actual date thing though.”

“You know, we can do your underground music thing,” you say. “I’m kind of crappy at guitar, but I like music. I’m not even compromising or anything. Paintballing can always happen later.”

it's a college for people with neurological difficulties or damages, in my case it's aspergers
so if i can prove to the doctor that i am unable to start working they might pay for it, which i hope they do because even tho the college is in the middle of bumfuck nowhere they have a paintball arena, you can go wine tasting, rum tasting, chocolate tasting and lots of other stuff i can't remember, they've even had doctors from NASA there giving lectures and stuff so i think it's a pretty good place

Your walking companion seems about to say something to that, but holds off at the last moment and says something else. “Whatever you want to do,” he says. “I’ll call ahead and iron things out so we have seats. It’s a standing room only type of event.”

Standing room only? That sounds pretty legit. “Nice,” you say.

“You know Sierra,” says Wolfgang, “all things considered, I’m glad you’re up for something like this. I mean, I don’t want it to be awkward or... geeze. I don’t know. I’m sorry for being dumb at that party.”

Not even a "lel 2 loooood" thing that meme is shit, but handholding is a bad idea. Ro has the easiest DC for physical contact and it's still something like 15.

And our claws are stress sensitive, so if we fuck up the roll then Wolfgang takes 1+3d3 damage to the hand.
