I have the following types of news them being terrible, bad, good, and great.

Last thread the Male MC went to apolagize and hug his sister. His retainer noted about it being about time and how he only needed a kick in the ass. Meanwhile Female MC pissed off the ghost ship crew by trying to take more than her fair share. Despite putting up one hell of a fight she ended up loosing and get her ass dragged down to the brig...there she awaits a terrible fate.

As soon as the two MADs get done arguing over it anyway.

That was of course after a brief vacation for the Genie because some of these characters the Genie is expected to write is a nightmare to do, also mad ain't ever easy to figure out without taking some literal sanity damage anyway.

Seriously though that shit is bad for one's mental health but on the other hand I DID finally figure it out.
>>
Rolled 92 (1d100)

>>39633756
Now as for the other half...well I am gonna have to explain this somehow.

Now how to put it...
>>
>>39633756
Genie.
I'd like to let you know something.
Around a year ago I was going through a really rough spot in my life, and your post apoc civ quest really helped a lot in getting me through it.

Thank you for that.
I will never forget The Rape Train or Spike The Worm.
>>
>>39633789
Genie, weren't we gonna do the One Piece quest?
>>
Rolled 38 (1d100)

>>39633789
'super smart' characters lets just start there as this will all tie in and I'll have to explain myself.

The problem lies within the degree of their intelligence they usually come in two forms that gives Genie nightmares.

They are the following.

>Super Geniuses
These are a pain in the utter arse to write for because of how their mind works...it doesn't work nearly as it should for a typical human and unlike Aliens I just can't go full alien mindset.

...as in aliens and outsiders writing is actually easier. Which are well notoriously hard to do well.

Their strange form of intelligence simply put is on an entirely other level and...its not exactly focused for usual social interaction. Hence why they are considered 'eccentric' and hard to deal with while being impossible to understand.

The truth is they aren't actually crazy(despite seeming that way) UNLESS they are suffering MADNESS. Its just their level of thinking is so fucking out there and advanced it seems that way.

This naturally makes them an utter NIGHTMARE to write for. Seriously if you think ordinary characters or aliens were hard to write...don't ever EVER try one of these.

Worst part is these ones are actually easier to perform then the below despite them being 'more' socially interactive hence understandable.

>Masterminds
The reason for this is simple while Super Geniuses intelligence is typically focused 'inward' so to speak away from people...masterminds are the exact opposite. Their power is outward giving them a DEVASTING ability to not only understand others but to also manipulate them.

To add insult to injury...you know the super genius level intellect that is on an entirely different scale/level? Now that is focused towards PEOPLE! Giving them outragous ability to not only understand them entirely but also to manipulate and plan to the extreme.

These fuckers make littlefingers look like goddamn pansies with their sheer level and scale of plotting.

Glad you go what you needed figured out. Sad thing is I was hoping for pirates.
>>
Rolled 23 (1d100)

>>39633959
Naturally this level of plotting throws my entire network of characters out of whack. As a mastermind is natural when it comes to fucking with them.

Due to their intelligence they are ALSO capable of understanding a super genius more then the average human...this means they can also turn their screws on them to a degree.

Super Geniuses aren't unknown to get lost within each other's research even though they are actually considered the best at being able to 'comprehend' each other.

Now for last but certainly not least...MADNESS!

Is not like 'ordinary' crazy which alone can certainly make ones sanity questionable or grey their brain in the attempt to do well.

MADNESS to do well requires the taking of actual sanity damage.

No I am not kidding it really does if you want to pull it off correctly hence why I so rarely use it as contrary to popular belief the Genie is actually rather fond of its questionable sanity.

So basically MADNESS in a simple formula is crazy+awesome.

So now imagine if one is required to not only do ONE of these but ALL FUCKING THREE!

In the SAME goddamn character no less. It gives Genie nightmares and makes it hard to sleep. Seriously though that type of character was number ONE on Genie's list of hardest characters to write for.

So naturally I am living a nightmare trying to jungle this existence while at the same fucking time as trying to test out my combat system(which is failing kinda hard by the way).

Granted I DO have to give /tg/ credit for not playing another goddamn lesbian...though admittedly such action DID go down. but well there was no fucking way for me to escape that when going to all girl school.

I know too much about such matters IRL to let it slide sadly but still kudos for that.

So I guess that covers the terrible news.

Bad news is the usual in regards to Genie's failing life no real need to go over that again oh except its getting worse...so yeah the usual.

Good news is I was able to solve some of the problems and more importantly put me in a good mood.

GREAT news is I completed a major breakthrough regarding my world building and I am willing to share the love so to speak.

What this means I am gonna offer an opportunity of what exactly I'll let you decide.

I equally enjoy Abigail and One Piece, but feel that it is better if One Piece is the on and off thing and we continue the War Civ quest.

You...you just want to traumatize the Genie don't you?

The world building is a breakthrough in regards to stuff to the setting and timeline alright. It pretty much solves a big enough problem i been having that has actually gotten me writing again.

So far i have two Chronicles planned out but I have yet to name the second one. One is fantasy and the other is post apoc.

Now for world building the only thing left for me is well...geography, linguistics, culture and the bestiary. Obviously the hardest part but considering I have the world dynamics and shit entirely figured out things will be getting most interesting.

Next up on my list is finalizing the geography(already crude map just need da details) and cultures(which will change around like crazy).

Bestiary will take the most homework/research as its gonna be a bitch to properly compile. Meanwhile lingustics...I really need to figure out where to start with that.

Sorta need to build some languages...and stuff.

>>39634395
oh fuck no those assholes are even harder to write for then super geniuses. Bastards know way too fucking much and are way too fucking good.

>vedov

>>
>>39634453
Well Genie, what I want to know is, do you think you'll have an easier time writing mastermind now or months down the road after we're well into One Piece?

>>39634509
We should finish our quests and not leave them to rot on the shelf.
>>
In fact, my biggest concern is that we might be disconnected from Abigail and Jake if we stop playing them for too long. We'll forget all our major plots and stuff, even if Good ol' Delim writes up a very elaborate pastebin on em
>>
Rolled 14 (1d100)

>>39634509
Because I am in good mood I will reveal reasons.

I would like to offer a challenge to anons in regards to both of those factions.

For paramilitary its a 'good guy' challenge.

For bandits...honestly its me wanting to write big bad bandit book entries and showing off bandits.

I don't know why but its hilariously fun to write for them in the wrong way.

>>39634519
>>39634543
The Male MC is agonizing for the Genie to write due to all his bullshit that a piece alone makes it a challenge. As soon as it properly awakens it will be traumatizing.

also not all that familiar with ship terms and my setting for it is pretty meh besides One Piece rip off. While relaxing and easy for me its not much else.
>>
>>39634591
>For bandits...honestly its me wanting to write big bad bandit book entries and showing off bandits.
Well Genie, in War Civ one of our plans is to hire bandits to help us go raiding and raping the galaxy in the name of the republic.

Surely thats even better because it lets you fully engineer them to be the perfect showcase instead of us meddling in creation.

I think it would be possible if I was in better health...but I am not. The pain, discomfort and other problems...i just can't do my best which is strictly required for something like that. I have to be tip top form and my muse be with me its so damned difficult to do.

>Masterminds are a challenge.

I could do it...just not now with my current condition.

I'm sorry ;_;

Even made me use a damned emote and flat out state it...makes me feel terrible for admitting but its the truth.

just take an apology boon and please don't rub it in is all I ask. ;_;
>>
>>39634700
That makes me sad for a number of reasons.

On the one, it means that, we might never play Abigail and Jake until your condition improves and few know when that will be. It would be an effective nail in their coffin.

And that is sad because I love them so much.

At the same time I want to think "well, Genie's condition is bad now but what if it gets worse later? Why not play now while he's still not that bad yet?"

But, I care too much for you Genie to put you through that.

I will always remember Abigail and Jake fondly. . .but also sadly for I fear that we might not see their true potential.

And my giant battleship

Civ Name: "Federation Base 27"
Civ Type: Paramilitary
Fluff:
Nobody knows what happened during the fall, but just a few people predicted when it would happen. And many more prepared for it.

But there were some who thought beyond survival. Some like those in the Adero corporation thought more than just living through the fall.

They needed someone to carry the torch, to bring light back into a world of darkness.

The idea was simple. Who would perform best in a world of countless unknowns? Full of hazards, monsters, maybe even the undead, and all manner of post apoclayptic villain wielding all manner of primitive or advanced technology in a world without law?

The answer was to try and understand a world they might not know about.

But to get a people who are EXACTLY suited to the most dangerous unknown world.

They would be trained in the greatest training the Old World had to offer, thousands of volunteers surrendering their former lives and identities for entirely new ones, new memories, erased and written over permanently.

They would be led to believe themselves members of an intergalactic organization, the Federated Union, whose purpose was to ensure order and civilization among the boundless stars. Indoctrinated in their beliefs they would carry with them to the future their military code, devotion to law and justice, and the ability to think like true visitors to another world in translating languages, meeting new species, and dealing with problems nobody had to face in the Old World.

Trained in the use of only the most advanced technology the old world had to offer, and prepared for anything the "Dangerous Planet" might have to offer them. Disintegrators and blasters to fend of all manner of hostile, advanced suits designed against deep space radiation with life support systems and phase anti-kinetic shielding.

Their base would be modeled off a proposed sci-fi military installation, and would be able to support them and their mission indefinitely.

Finally, when all was ready, when all the training complete and now stood an army of federation soldiers, the base would be put to sleep and frozen cold and buried deep beneath the world, where it would await the signal.

When the fall would finally come, and then some more, they would awake again. And they would bring to this world of darkness, light and order

Greetings Commander I am afraid I carry some bad news.

"Fuck really its my first goddamn day."

"I am afraid Commander." continues the AI ignoring his complaints. "That our current food and water reserves will run out shortly."

"Wait what?"

"Also Commander we are in need of renewing our stocks on plasma feed and radioactive materials for the reactors. If we cannot acquire such materials we will lose operation of our best technologies and will have to ration electricity."

"FUCK wait don't tell me that is why the bots and company got axed?"

"...Affirmative Commander. Such drastic action was taken in order to increase our supplies and stocks."

"Well shit...any good news at least?"

"Our armament supply is still in pristine condition."

"...What terrible goddamn timing for a promotion. Now I am stuck trying to fix this mess and I can't BELIEVE they fucking shutdown the bot battalions. Well at least we can turn on the clone companies in a pinch. Should still be mostly intact."

"Uhm Commander."

"Oh by gods what now?"

"The bot battalions were actually...scrapped entirely."

"oh no...no no no no,"

"And the clone companies were broken down for supplies."

"FUUUCK. So wait why didn't you say we needed to find fueling stocks for those too?"

"Because commander it was scrapped in its entirety."

"...wha? What do you mean computer?"

"Bots were scrapped entirely ended up being recycled. Cloned Company Center was also scrapped and recycled."

"...So THATS why the rations became such utter shit. Good god I can't believed they fed those things to the clones...that just ain't ri-wait what about the bots? We still have something right?"

"Scrapped entirely. Armaments placed back in armory and fuels were used to keep the power running."

"...WHERE IS THE PREVIOUS COMMANDER I AM GONNA KILL EM KILL! Damn it AI open this fucking door that is a goddamn order."

"I am sorry commander but I cannot endorse Homicidal rages unless its towards the enemy."

I'm going to back the G.I. trooper supply base idea.

We were put here to train troops for forested engagements and civil defense. Then if people were needed, troops would be set out using the net work of roads here.

Faction Name: Hunt, County, Militia - H.C.M.

Normally we would get our food and water from the towns near by. After the connections were lost we had to make dew with hunting and the lake nearby.

A few men had gardening as a hobby in their off time and that has helped in some ways.

The real problem was keeping uniforms in shape ... one person sowing is not a good thing and not many like the work.

Thank god for the few mechanics we have, otherwise we would be out our filter truck for water and back up power.

We can still hunt in plains for rabbits and other grass feed animals. Trained in plains combat and civil defense.

Problems always came up in open field combat ... hard to find cover. Upside we got tanks and APCs to act as cover. Then power armor to fill in gaps, if we didn't have some shield units for small arms fire.

"Apologies Commander but we have lost contact with orbiting satellites and have no real connection."

"negative commander."

"Well why the hell not?"

Hears harsh laughing sounds over the comms.

"Not a chance in hell sir unless we bring out heavy demolitions and that will only work with the tracks not to mention cause a huge racket. Otherwise we are gonna need some proper equipment that we sure as hell don't have."

We do know where their remains are located according to the old map(which is extremely outdated)

OCC Logibo was the ONLY Megacorp who failed to survive the Fall. Despite the best efforts of the other corps to determine see if they survived or not all indications indicated the contrary. To this day in remembrance of Logibo and their actions the Corporate Council keeps a seat open for them and based their new calender on the very last received transmission from them.

They were legendary as the biggest bros among the Corps and they sacrificed themselves to save countless others. Their last very last sent out tranmission is used by the megacorps to time the official end of the Fall and the start of their new calender in remembrance in addition to the open seat in case a survivor should ever appear.

Then your gonna love this.

During the Fall Logibo REFUSED to stay low and helped as many as they could no matter the cost. They promised they wouldn't stop until the Fall ended. they did keep their promise...as the very last transmission sent by them was an automated message saying mission accomplished.

That was the last ever transmission made by the megacorp as every single one of their facilities was found to be either abandoned by them or destroyed. It was an automated broadcast and it turned out no one was behind it much to the misery of the Corporate Council who checked desperate to find a remnant no matter how small.

Logibo was extremely proud in their customer satisfaction and ended up being the acknowledged as biggest bro of all megacorps. During the Fall unlike many other megacorps who were desperate to survive and even possibly profit. They were the only ones who refused to close their doors to others no matter how bad it got and went out of their way to help everyone they possibly could despite the sacrifice to themselves. They did this because of their vow of being the best bros and considered everyone a potential customer/friend. This meant treating them as best as possible even other megacorps and competition.
>>

Scouts sent out to investigate Logibo ruins...on the way there are forces found a certain crashed drone. When they checked it out turned out the Drone was following some ancient automated instructions and protocol. They found a old hand written note that simply said "good luck" and a smiley face written on it. On the back of it showed a old sheet of paper showing a Logibo logo over a heart touching scene where goods were being handed out to those in need by smiling corp relief agents and those being helped were in tears they were so thankful. Problem was the date on it...and the scene of carnage happening in the background.

When they finally got there...turned out the place had been turned into a zombie hive. As there were zombies crawling everywhere. So our forces wisely withdrew once they capped a few zombie outlying who found them.

In that regard our forces get lucky when they crack open a cargo container that turns out to be full of electronics. After that initial shock though they took us back to their caravan where we found out they come through here every so often on their way to commit business.

Apparently they are a bunch of traders who visit different settlements and offer assorted goods/services. They hadn't known about another paramilitary faction like ours being nearby. Claimed we were rather few in number especially considering many either bit the dust or turned bandit to survive.

From them we found out the location of several bandit bases and they warned us to watch out for the tracks. According to them a number of...nastier businesses also tend to pass through here as its one of the only straights capable of 'safely' passing through some serious zombie turf. Also why they use this stretch as its only of the few shortcuts capable of bypass despite the dangers.

They warned you to watch out for the mutant caravans who come out of the wastes as well as the ghastly caravans. Also watch out for the trains.

According to them the reason why bandits like this stretch so much for moving is because if the rumors are true...there is a zed presence around here somewhere.

Zeds infamous factions who somehow manage to not only deal with the zombies in such a way as to be ignored but even control them...

According the the traders a nearby zed faction here is said to be bandit.

Discovered the following Bandit Bases

>Train Terrain
Former rail line section and repair base for trains that has been taken in by bandits converting it to their uses. A TON of bandit traffic goes through here that relies upon the rails.

>High Hell
Bandit bases built on top of mega highway and pillars. Gives them a damn good view for their launching of forces.

According to the caravans High Hellers are the most difficult for them as they LOVE to harass passing traffic.

>Bloodbowl
A nearby slaver bandit faction who established a base due to prime location. Lots of meat comes and goes through here.

>Bloody Bane Base
The bloody Banes are large bandit faction have a base here. They are former paramilitary who turned bandit and claimed this fallen military base. Now they are terrors to everyone and everything. Even other bandits.

>Sick Spires

Built into pillars and reeks of foul tech and work.

>Trans Holding Prison #A23

Previously used to hold prisoners in transit now converted into a major bandit bastion.

We need:
Food and Water production - This area has recently undergone some contamination, so we'll need some automated production. Our goal is reaching a point where we're not running a deficit but slowly building up stocks of food and water.

We get to that, we'll even lend you guys some of it for yourselves or to sell. Consider if we get a surplus high end food and water production that means you'll be getting high end food and water. So its in your interest to give us the best of the best when possible.

Fuels and Ammunition - We have a lot of fancy gear but nowhere near the means to actually maintain them fueled and armed. We want to increase our high end ammunition production.

Once again, if we get to a level where we're making a surplus we promise you'll get a hand in on that.

In the days before the fall, much of the world was surprisingly. . .peaceful. The decreasing of wars and the growth of the powers meant that very quickly mercenaries found out they were out of a jobs.

But death always finds a way. Even without war, nations began to rot. The streets decayed into blackened slums infested with all manner of monster, bandit, and villain, the ever rising tide of garbage that pooled and gnawed at the foundations of those shining glimmering cities.

Soon the local police and even the mighty Super heroes found it more and more difficult to keep up with the growing chaos, as more and more supervillains with powers wreaked havoc, unleashing devastating plagues, monstrous beasts, as the criminal underworld revelled and grew fat, basking in the surplus of unemployed soldiers and mercs.

But then the idea came. If armies of nations could hire mercenaries to fill in the gaps. . .couldn't cities or police do the same? And, perhaps, a way to keep these gunho triggermen on the right side of the law?

"Alright so whats the parimeter?"

"Bosses say we got three. One is the chain link around our base, another is the surrounding 'killzone', and finally the last is the edge of the rocky outcropping we are based on."

"Hm alright so whats the plan?"

"Suppose to fortify the edges and decrease visibility."

"Alright so lets bring out the camo cloth and paint considering the restrictions."

"Bah still a bitch to see if we set em up right which is our job so lets move it."

Killzone perimeter has been upgraded to be defense creating some light covered entrenchments. Camo cloth and paint has been broken out for use to cover it.

Meanwhile a certain officer of the caravan was taken back with personnel to continue planning and to help set up the goods we purchased. Our forces made sure to blind fold them first so they wouldn't know where they are going.

The people waiting for the caravan rep was Commander Asimov and recently promoted Quartermaster who was the only other guy who understood the dire situation. After introductions Asimov left the details to the quartermaster who honesty knew the situation better then he did since it was sorta he entire department after all.

So he went to bed after surveying the work that was done to extend the defense perimeter...now including the very edge of the detailed killzone that was crawling with all sorts of nasty.

Thank god for targeting perimeters...they made it so the killzone would reconginze friendlies and so it wouldn't activate on them. This had the nifty quirk of extending the zone of control which was now being taken advantage of create another defense perimeter.

After that going to bed...and waking up in the morning to a very weird sight.

"What the hell?"

"Morning Ass."

"Shutup nuk you have that promotion thanks to m-wait is this expresso? I thought that machine was toast..."

"It was," simply stated Nuk sipping it.

"...How?"

"Well you DID promote me for a reason."

"No, seriously how."

It was called Aegis Securities.

The idea was simple, private security for peacetime. Soldiers out of the battlefield and in the cities fighting to uphold order, not against it.

A paramilitary force designed to supplement local law enforcement and heroes when needed. Who's jurisdiction and authority went beyond any city or county limits.

And they would be more than guns for hire, they would be trained, molded, bred into the code of justice they were designed to uphold. And given the authority to carry out the law as the law should be carried out.

They would fill in the gaps and stem the tide of corruption. . .for a fair price after all. Surely is not justice worth its weight in coin?

And. . .it worked. Whenever the police found themselves overwhelmed, they called Aegis. When a superhero needed backup far away from any town or station, they called Aegis. When you've got the meanest army of bandits and monsters in the chemical infested sewers, when you needed someone to patrol the endless miles upon miles of highway space, protecting the precious cargo and denizens, you would find Aegis.

And as the megacorps basked in the success, just a few of them voiced concerns. Nobody knew about the fall, but everyone felt in their bones that something was up. Sometihng was coming. Doomsday cults popped up from the lowest beggars to the highest eschelons of society.

And some wondered, even if they did survive in their bunkers, protected and guarded, who could they rely on in the future for protection?

Who would uphold justice and the law in a world without laws, who would police the streets in a world without police or cities?

To that, once again, they looked to Aegis Securities and came up with an idea.

Who better to enforce the law in a world without cities. . .than those who were bread to enforce the law unbound by cities?

Thus it came to pass that even while Megacorps and think tanks and government remenants prepared their own forces for the great slumber against the percieved doomsday, the cause of justice, or at least, someone they could rely on to fight the lawless scum of tommorow, who they knew would accept the same pay, and continue to do the work they did.

Whats the point of burying the gems of civilization without burying its guardians as well?

And to that end, entire divisions of Aegis Securies would be frozen, kept safe, to be awoken when they were needed and to fulfill their purpose.

"I am a quartermaster Commander Asimov."

"Bullshit Duke Nuki Vonce. We weren't given parts for replacing civilian goods. So how did you do it and not to mention where the HELL did all that shit come from? I didn't know you were a trader damn it."

"That is because I am something better" he begins before finishing espresso."For I am a quartermaster."

With that the two of them stared at the lovely and astounding sight of choppers coming in and delivery all sorts of items.

Including a whole lot more then just food and drink. Entire pellets of munitions were dropped off. Barrels of high grade fuels. Even Shielded containers full of radioactives and more were being dropped off and unloaded.

----
Meanwhile at a certain caravan where the personnel returned with the light escorts arrival including a certain ruffled rep.

"Uh Betty why is there a bunch of choppers flying in," asked Henry.

"Oh that..." asked a tired ruffled Betty. "Just give them all of this,' she ordered handing Henry a slip of paper before trying to get some shut eye.

Meanwhile a shocked Henry checked and double checked trying to believe his eyes.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS BETTY AL-wait I thought you stayed the night over there why you so tired?"

"Because," groaned Betty. "I didn't get any sleep and yes I am serious."

"...Your dad is gonna be pissed about this. You were only suppose to hold true to the original terms."

"He can kiss my sore ass."

"What? Damn asleep already man he is gonna be pissed about this...but then again good luck trying to convince those goons to back off."

Luckily as it turned out the instructions and tutoring the caravan's people gave worked goddamn wonders.

Our people were easily able to get the facilities installed and running. For the food it meant building from scratch for the water it meant building, replacing, and improving.

Either way our forces have it done and the ammo has already been moved into stores. Quartermaster ordered that our forces use corp munitions unless its an emergency.

Says its to be rationed.

This stuff is basically modifying the stuff you already have.

Sadly during your time in stasis you were suppose to waken...this didn't go exactly as planned as your forces were overshot the mark. Corrupted Command had instead used bots and clones while laying low exhausting them both salvaging them before the new Commander was selected once a Purge successfully occurred when the AI realized what had happened.

This was a hardline Bypass which caused a forced awakening.

You are remnant of Aegis Securities a Private Army Corporation specializing in police work and law keeping. All indications that you may be the only ones left or just a broken piece of the whole. Either way your PMC has fallen.

The greatest lost however wasn't the exhaustion of resources rather it came with the loss of the oh so useful Bot Battalions and the Clone Companies. Both of which may be near impossible to properly replace.

It also fucked up your numbers as your current personnel were merely meant to enforce, support, or serve as an elite division/squads. Now that is all that you possess under your command.

Potent piece of peace keeping technologies that is HIGHLY restricted and protected.

This is because its designed to mindfucking even psions. So yeah POTENT AS SHIT.

All capitalized because its that good.

The suite is designed for psychological surgery, mental interrogation(mind rape), and placing fail safes.

Basically all sorts of stuff involving the brain. Due to its grade it should be potent enough to even use on things like mutants maybe even monsters. As its designed to even deal with the threats of the psionics.

Basically all sorts of shit and its a lawkeeper PMC edition so its focused with a more aggressive angle to it.

Your PMC commonly used them for indoctrination, lobotomy, psychological repair(to keep mentally fit), and 'recycling' criminals into a useful citizen(except in the PMC case create some fodder or make them less difficult for transport as that isn't their job).

Occasionally also to deal with any troublesome mutants, rogue psions, and other exotic nastiness. Your PMC decided it best to make sure its suite would be able to handle that sorta thing and even included a built in prison for reasons.

The LAWnetwork is basically your typical network for stuff like emergencies, law breaking, and reporting. Except your forces been equipped with special augs to alert them of crimebreaking and increasing awareness(very useful in their line of work). Your scanners been augmented with this in mind.

Basically this means if bandits cause trouble its gonna send off a big OVERHERE because of the lack of clutter and how not so sneaky they tend to be which it was built with the purpose of solving.

So your scanners pick up all sorts of trouble. Sadly this includes stuff like zombies eating people and mutants/monsters who are moving outside their 'zones'.

Scans indicate urban area to the north. Wasteland to the south.
Forest to the East.
Mountains to the West.

Is as far as they can detect in each direction.

As well as TONS of lawbreaking. Its pretty bad especially those assholes in the the 'high Hells' as it turned out who zoom in from above to commit their atrocities. The only ones who cause similar amounts of trouble is the bloody banes but at least they also target other bandits...

meanwhile you have found there are other bandits forces besides the ones told to you by the caravan. Lost of smaller gangs and other bases besides.

Scanners have been improved(placed up higher) and fiddled with to give us a concentrated burst around the homeground.

In that regard they found some interesting stuff...

>HIDDEN UNDERGROUND COMPLEX DETECTED
>Volcanic Facility detected
>2 additional vaults detected These ones are well hidden and not apparently compromised.
>Compromised Vault people are still alive...for now. Their vault integrity has been compromised however.
>Monster species detected with intelligence
>No Zombies detected
>Limited Ghoul activity
>Limited Bandit activity(ain't hardly shit to raid)

Scans indicate homeground is pretty quiet except for the monsters and the active underground. Apparently a certain facility had dug a little too deep and the compromised crust made a nasty interact creating a volcano.

This royally fucked the Complex and led to an interesting facility arising dependent on the volcanic energies. Scans indicate we can access the facility near the top of the volcano if we climb down inside it.

Lair scans indicate...EMERGENCY

EMERGENCY

BROODLIKE AGENT DETECTED.

Type of hyper evolutionary monsters which has a chain of command and exhibits indications of hivemind like intelligence.

Fast evolving and spreading if they so wish. This one appears to be a slumber though...for some strange reason the lair isn't very active.

Which is bizarre if we really ARE talking brood here. Might be some other infestation that is similar...

Depends on the brain beast.

>>39656489
Unlikely if true brood they are better at warping people then even the zombies.

PMC tried to stay away from infestations like brood. Too goddamn troublesome to root out and things get weird when you encounter some smart supposedly free infesteds.

Suppose to punish crime and sometimes help people not deal with shit like that. Not in their jurisdiction damn it.

>>39656489
That is like asking if a zombie is still a person anon.
>>
Rolled 76 (1d100)

>>39656551
Well correction more like alien monsters who rely upon hyper evolution. Most of those things tend to result from some dick ass creator being assholes(who everyone can typically agree to hate sometimes even their own creations) though or are not of this existence.

Rolled 63 (1d100)

>>39656444
>>>>>>>H. Your choice
It's too early and too dangerous to start probing any of the underground nor are we aptly prepared for a worst case scenario, but we can at least make ourselves more ready.

Start clearing out the surface and preparing defenses, turrets, and vehicles to respond to any possibility of an underground attack. Quarantine any possible underground entry/exits.

Do not attack unless attacked, if you encounter a monster check for intelligence before any hostile moves.

We'll need to secure the surface before we should enter the underground.
>>
Rolled 69 (1d100)

>>39656603
Brood beings existed Pre Fall what the fuck do you think the Brood War was that nearly ended humanity? A better question is what type were talking and if dick ass creators are involved. The fucking assholes.

Though admittedly Brood is a bit of loose term for them but its a pain to categorize their kind all correctly.

also a bitch to name.

>>39656603
Considering its been converted into a den which have access points and the fallen vault itself can reach the surface certainly.
>>
Rolled 42 (1d100)

>>39656645

No hostile intent and maybe we can talk to some monsters
>>
Rolled 78 (1d100)

>>39656650
Fun fact.

The only other type of hate that can compare to the hate of the kinds of creators who create things like broods are the assholes who create their metal counterparts.

aka things sorts like robots who hate all life and shit.

Special kinds of hatred for the beings behind those kind of things. It gets even funnier when at times those creations also hate them.

Anyone have any idea of a good pic either further up or not that will be fitting for this civ starter? Also for new thread since we are on like page 8 apparently.

Aegis Security

There's no need to fear! Aegis is here!
when bandits in this world appear
and break the laws that they should fear
and frighten all who see or hear
the cry goes up both far and near
for Aegis! Aegis! Aegis! Aegis!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Aegis. Aegis!

when in this world our scanners read
of brood. 'N monsters, 'n zombie creed

That rip and gash and make you bleed

to right this wrong with blinding speed
goes Aegis! Aegis! Aegis! Aegis!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who kill or plunder
Aegis. Aegis!
