You are Maria Cortez, queen bitch of Amazon Squad, formerly El Presidente's feared bodyguard harem, now a private security contractor and CIA front company. You're being set up as a private security contractor in the Parcel Islands Special Economic Zone. You were supposed to be looking for places to set up shop, but mostly you've been spending CIA money shopping and clubbing, and your handler will be arriving in a few hours. It's probably not a big deal though. Everything in downtown Parcel is expensive, and everything on the east island (Hoang-Sa) is owned by japanese gangsters, who your former doctor seems to be suspiciously well aquaninted with. You haven't checked out the south side harbor, the north side slums, the west side heights, or any of the south island.

>Lets go back to Hoang-Sa and pretend to have been seriously considering renting property from the Yakuza.
>Lets check out the slums to the north, maybe we could find a cheap property and fix it up?
>Lets check out the harbor and see if the Triads charge less rent than the Yakuza.
>The heights are probably even more expensive than downtown, but lets take a look anyways.
>Lets go to the south island, we haven't been there yet.

Improved map.

Also, I'm re-naming the North island "Parcel Island." and the south island "Xisha." it was the other way around before, but I think this makes more sense. The combined arcapelago is called the "Parcel Island Special Economic Zone." and it's a city without a country, administered by a complicated network of Mercenaries and Gangsters. Anarcho capitalism!

Everyone knows that the south island is controlled by the Russians, right?

It's complicated, you understand there is now a second layer of former Russian republics between the former soviet republics and Russia proper. Crimea is one of them you think, but you don't know all the details and you really don't care. NATO and what's left of the Russian republic seems to be mostly focusing it's attention on the arctic ocean now that it's navigable.

This stuff probably won't come up in this quest other than as origin stories for NPCs with funny accents.

You decide to stay on Parcel because Lexi's plane will be landing at the airport here in a few hours.
The Buss takes you down the strip that rings around the bay, past the airport and through the harbor. This harbor seems busier than Hoang-sa's harbor, but that might just be because it's more crowded. The Airport land reclamation project filled in a good portion of the bay and now the ships have to navigate in around it.

You also tell her to rent a van to pick up the gear when it arrives. If all else fails, you can park it somewhere as a temporary base and live in hotel rooms for a few weeks with the cash you have now.

The rest of you stay on the buss and ride through the Harbor. Past rows of warehouses and shipping yards.

You get off the bus in front of a large shipping yard. Perhaps you could rent out some of these containers instead of a full blown warehouse. It seems like something you'd see in a movie. If you linked up the containers in a stack, it would be a stealthy base that wouldn't attract a lot of attention.

You could probably expand it pretty well too if you spent more money you could have places to land helicopters, or park cars. If you got access to the cranes, it would be a perfect watchtower. You imagine things could get expensive quick though if you try to buy up too much space. And more elaborate upgrades wouldn't be possible.

>>Lets find a manager and start talking business.

You decide a container is a quick fix. If you don't like it, you can always just stop renting and move somewhere else. There is very little commitment involved, you like that.

After a bit of walking around, you find an office. The Manager seems surprised to see a bunch of pretty ladies shopping for shipping containers. Understandably he becomes much more comfortable with the idea when you offer him cash up front.
You'll have to pay for the space and the containers. Containers can be bought, but most of the time they are just rented separately.

>Lets just buy some parking space, Talya's bringing a van, we can leave it there.

The man hands you hardhats, which you stubbornly refuse, and walks you out to an empty blue container in the bottom center of a stack. He says that it probably won't be moved, but that if it does, the system can automatically text you the location of the new position in the yard. It probably won't ever be moved into a second level stack.

Inside is plenty big to store your contraband with a bit of space left over, and the manager doesn't bother asking you what you plan on putting it. Parcel's laws are very sparse. You tell him your van will arrive in the evincing, and he hands you keys to the container, and a magnetic card for getting into the yard after dark.

You ask him how much you'd have to bribe him for crane access, and this makes him suspicious. "What you planning on doing up there lady?"

You decide discretion is a better defense in this situation. Besides, they have their own security, and it's not like you'll be living here.

You shrug and make a pouty face, then lock up the container and head back to the office to finalize the paperwork. As you walk, you glance at the twins, and the look on their faces tells you that they'll probably try sneaking up anyways. You just hope they don't get into any trouble.

Alexis will be here soon, so you catch a taxi back to the airport.

This place may work as temporary housing, but we need a better place to meet clients in.
Right now we look less professional than even the pirates, let alone Ronin.

And that's not including the lack of running water, reliable electricity, or enough space for Hilde's drug lab.

>>39698489
>baby steps
Even the least professional PMC has an office in an actual office building. Not some cheap container that not even down on their luck drug runners would use.
>>
>>39699716
No, you see, nobody would expect a PMC to use shipping containers. That makes it useful in its own black-ops sort of way.
>>
>>39699716

Getting electricity and plumbing would require leasing an entire stack located above a manhole. Aside from sewer access, this would allow you to run pipes and cables up into the stack.

Sadly, there is very little to do to improve the thermal properties of corrugated steel. It will be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and heating/cooling will be expensive.

>>
>>39700355
>>39700418

You don't have to live in it, The idea is you keep your shit in it, then spend the rest of your money on a good hotel room and/or office.
Upgrading it into something impressive will be expensive, but for the purpose of "Storing shit." It's the cheapest and most scalable option.

A warehouse can be upgraded into a lot of different things, but it's going to be expensive, and only comes in one size.
Parking everything in a van and leaving it in a lot would be even cheaper than a shipping container, but it wouldn't scale at all and would be less secure.
Other options like storefronts, offices, or hotel rooms would require separate storage.

>>39700638

Starting back up.

The Taxi arrives at the Airport in time for you to meet up with Talya and the rented van. After checking your paperwork and inspecting the tires for rocks, they let it onto the tarmac. A while latter a small green airplane descends from the sky. Somehow you imagined something bigger.

The plane rolls to a halt and taxis over to where you are parked before a gigantic Malaysia airlines A380 lands behind it, deafening you. The smaller aircraft could probably land on top of it.
As your hearing returns, the pilot of the little plane shuts off it's engines and the canopy opens up. Out climbs Lexi, followed by a skinny woman in a dirty green fligthtsuit with a stuck zipper.

"And Ronald Ace asked you to rescue his daughter?" You ask surprised. "Nope! He doesn't even know she's in trouble yet. I say we save her before the news gets out, and see how grateful she is to us that daddy didn't have to find out about any of this."

It all sounded like a good idea at the time, they really did love each other, they just never trusted each other. Here's satellite image of the island, the pirates are operating out of that grounded oil tanker. They use converted fishing trawlers to ambush yachts and cargo ships. Despite all the military spending these southeast Asian countries are doing, they haven't been able to put a dent in it. China's been spending their money trying to be the new America, and everyone else has been spending their money to deter them. Nobody's been doing actual patrols, just intimidating exercises in the south china sea.

Kitty should be able to land on a dirt road on the west side, but we aren't sure how long she'll be able to stay. I don't think they have any anti-air, but her bronco lacks any offensive weapons and she'll be vulnerable on the ground.

Man, I wish we could have gotten NVG. It would help us out a lot.

The hills and mountains are fairly heavily forested. You can probably outmaneuver pirates if your training's as good as they say.
>>
Will there be room for our team and the hostages in Kitty's plane?
>>
>>39703200
I can only hope that we're lucky, they're all drunk and crowded around their fuel dump, and we can kill them all.

Any ideas on how big of an entourage the Ace kid had with her?
Kitty's Bronco is limited to 6 people.
>>
>>39703241
Not really. Kitty, You, Talya, Terri, the Twins. Plus all your gear. It was designed as an armed reconnaissance plane remember, the ability to carry troops and land on dirt roads was just a bonus.

What gear are you going to take with you? Pick two.

We should consider what to do about additional hostages, if there are any.
If we could kill all of the pirates, that would be best, but we probably don't have the ammo for it.

Maybe we will need to steal one of their boats to make an escape.

Okay, It's getting late and I don't want to halfhass this like I did the lewd scene. I'll continue this at 4pm PST tomorrow. Roughly the same time the quest started today.

>>
>>39704185
>What are their fetishes, besides murder, being catgirls, and being inscrutable, sadistic, loli-catgirls?
Cuddles and cute things, according to their status screen.
As for their other fetishes, we'll have to unlock them by exploring. Same with all the other Amazons.
>>
>>39704241
I think eventually you might also be able to recruit war orphans and train them. This would involve giving them addictions and fetishes.

It will of course require some kind of training center, and a supply of refugees.
>>
>>39704358
that sounds morally iffy.
>>
>>39704358
I don't know about that. Given the team size limitation, getting specialists that could provide bonuses from support back at base seems like it would be the smarter option rather than more direct combat characters.
>>
>>39704396
Well, Handler didn't say you must train them in combat (yet)...
I support your idea tho.
>>
>>39704396
This. Stuff like intel, hacking, materiel procuring and the like our Amazons can't currently do. PMC stuff.
>>
>>39704371
Morally iffy is a big part of this quest. And you can always justify it that you are "Empowering" them to fight back against the people who made them into refugees in the first place.
>>
>>39704473
When you talk about child soldier, how young do you plan them to be?
>>
>>39704509
Probably older than the twins but younger than Talya depending on what the players approve of. I think I'll keep it ambiguous as to actual ages.

The twins are exactly as young as the reader is comfortable with, Talya's in her late teens early 20s. Terri, Maria are in their late 20s, Alexis is in her early 30s, and Kitty is in her mid 20s.

Hilde looks like she's in her mid 20s, but she might be an immortal vampire or something going by her education and the fact that her best friends are 80 year old gangsters.

In general, all the characters are Ladies, and it's not polite to ask their ages.
>>
>>39704371
For reference, orphans are expected to be able to fend off for themselves when they become legal... and are sadly unwanted by any prospective adoptive parent well before that.

I'd say becoming an Amazon is a much better fate than bouncing around in the system.
>>
>>39704763
I guess anyone too young can be support staff. For me, i'll use twin's age as lowest threshold how young our combatant can be.
>>
>>39704868
I could also see using younger kids to man crew serviced weapons.

Does the Stealth skill allow for silent takedowns, or is a melee skill (like capoeira) needed as well?
>>
>>39710438
We can keep things bumped, in that case.
>>
>>39710454
Stealth allows silent takedowns. Capoeira allows you to make unarmed melee attacks and defend yourself from attacks at close or short range. [ +- ] instead of [ - ] for unarmed attacks.

Knife fighting alters the range profiles of knives from [ +- ] to [ ++- ] with the medium range bar representing a thrown knife attack, but it does not give any sort of sneaking skills by itself. It can allow environment specific takedowns when combined with other skills like jungle fighting which do grant some level of conditional stealth.

Gunkata lets you dual wield pistols, giving them burst as if they were an SMG or assault rifle, or dual wield SMGs giving them suppression as if they were a full sized machine gun. It does not effect other stats such as range, and does not give any bonuses when wielding weapons with two hands. I'm not sure if I want to allow characters to learn guntaka and marksmanship (Conflicting philosophies/techniques, what works for one is bad for the other), although there are characters in John Woo movies who snipe and dual wield at different times.

Other martial arts work like Capoeira but involve less kicking, any martial art here will allow you to control the distance between you and your opponent up to medium range. Keeping them out of striking distance or closing the gap to make your attack.

Sorry for more delay, starting now.

It's very cramped in the back of Kitty's plane. Almost Like a flying coffin for four people. Your gear was packed in tight when it arrived, and now you are packed in even tighter.

You don't mind being this close to your girls, but you imagine this won't be the ideal situation to extract the VIP in, let alone her entourage. Maybe if you had her go alone and spent the night on the island, but commandeering a boat seems like it might be a better idea.
Oh well, you're basically making this shit up as you go, It's more flexible that way.

Your hands find their way into the front of her flightsuit and cup over her breasts. She's kind of flat and skinny, but her features are very perky, and right now, covered in sweat.

"Mmmm. I can see why that bitch likes you. Just her type." She says, rolling her shoulders and relaxing under your hands. "Try not to distract me too much while I'm flying okay."

"She ruined a whole country just to get me." You whisper into her ear, or would had you both not been wearing headsets, the result is the same either way. "What about you?"

"As much as I'd like to think she was the one who sabotaged my career in the corps, she didn't start selling me dope till after I got my dishonorable discharge. "What's your minimum airspeed"
"Uhh..."
"How slow can you fly this thing without crashing, preferably as close to the water as possible."
"You're kidding right."
"Can you do it?"
"Hell yeah I can." Her expression slowly turns from disbelief to one of psychotic joy. "Get ready. I'm not stopping."
"Open the hatch Terri, Girls, we're taking a swim."

You hear gunfire as the plane whizzes low over the beach. The pirates aren't happy, you spot one group on the beach and another in the hills. As soon as the beach is clearned, Kitty lowers flaps and turns sharply to bleed of speed, then she levels out less than a meter above the water.

The twins jump first, followed by Talya and Terri Then you. You hit the water at what feels like just shy of 40 miles an hour.

You skip like a rock for what feels like forever before finally sinking. You hold your breath and descend beneath the waves. (Maria Addiction point Danger, Kitty Addiction point Barnstorming)

Also, I apologize for using my Veto power to pick an option only one person suggested half jokingly. The idea was just too awesome. We are, after all, using action movie physics if I recall.
>>
>Stay under and try to swim to shore quietly.

Nothing's broken. That was actually less painful than the time you did the same thing out of a moving truck. Water is much less abrasive than gravel roads.

You decide to trust the rest of your squad and swim to shore by yourself as quietly as possible. Hopefully the pirates didn't see you jump. It should look like Kitty flew by and got scared off by the gunfire. You figure they wouldn't expect to be attacked from the water immediately after that, but they might still be on edge.

You don't see anybody when you reach the shore.

You decide to stay hidden in the jungle while the twins scale the hills to get an overlook of the island.

Eventually they radio back. The Pirates on the south beach are gone, that was probably their boat that drove by. There are pirates on the main beach however, along with Milan's Yacht, and another pirate boat. There are signs of activity in the beached tanker, but it's not possible to determine how much.

There are two boats currently moving, and one patrol lazily wandering on the jungle path, the state of alert has mostly past and they don't seem very interested in searching very hard.

There is about 6 of them, between the ages of 14 and 25. Dressed in rags of nearly naked, and wielding rusty AKs. They don't expect a fight, and probably wouldn't put up much resistance if attacked.
It might however get noisy, a few bullets wouldn't sound out of place here, but if either of you gets trigger happy, it will attract attention.

On the other side of the hill, you can see down into the beach, you may or may not be able to slip past these guards and either down the road, or onto the beach.

>Have the twins drop one, and then open fire.
>Step out of the forest with weapons raised, see if you can intimidate them.

"Drop the leader, Talya open fire on my mark. Terri, hold unless they start shooting back, then lay down suppression."

A loud crack echoes across the island, distinct from the occasional bouts of celebratory gunfire. The head of the biggest pirate, who happened to be taking a piss over the cliffs at the time, explodes, causing him to tumble over the cliff.

The pirates react poorly, looking over the cliff at their fallen leader, before turning to find the source of the gunshot. You and Talya take that chance to open fire on the group. The remaining 5 hit the ground. Dead, wounded, or just taking cover, the squad is out of commission.

This seems to have roused the suspicions of the pirates however, there seems to be movement in the village down the hill to the northeast.

(Twins Addiction Murder)

>Go loud, have Terri and the twins suppress the village.
>Secure the area. Move south to capture or kill any wounded pirates, and take up a defensive position.
>Fade back into the forest. Moving Northwest.

Finish off the patrol and set up an ambush for the pirates coming from the village.

Set up with Terri and the twins, and be ready with 3 flashbangs to ambush the villagers and kill them when they're disoriented.
>>
>>39720620
>>39720584
If a patrol from the village comes out here, an alarm will be raised unless we get rid of the bodies over the cliff.

>>39720697
That will definitely raise an alarm and make extracting the hostages harder. Not to mention make killing the pirates later more difficult.

A wounded enemy is worth more than a dead one. A corpse can be abandoned, but a survivors will slow them down and demoralize their comrades. This is one of the most important lessons of guerrilla warfare. Don't go in for the kill, play with them, wait till they are exhausted.
Chasing you into the jungle will draw them away from their village, and forces them to confront you on your terms.
Knowing this, you fade back, double timing it down the dirt road and hiding in the deepest part of the forest on the other side of the island behind the hills.

The twins deliver the following Intel. One squad emerged from the village to inspect the sight of the battle. Another landed on the south beach to re-enforce them.
The boat from before is back floating offshore to cover them, they appear to be on high alert, and another squad leader is interrogating a kid who survived.

They ask for orders as you make your way around to the other side of the beach.

>Take out the boss interrogating the survivor.
>Take out any targets of opportunity in the other squad.
>See if you can hit the gunner or pilot of the boat. (costs 1 action point)
>Hold fire.

If we're running away, at least mop up the rest and throw the bodies away first.

Another loud crack. You don't get to see the result, but the twins inform you that the boat's remaining crew freaked out and disembarked on the south beach.

The squads from the boats are mostly arguing with each other on the south side of the island, but the squad from the village is pushing north. The men seem reluctant, but the leader is yelling at them, and forcing the survivor from the previous squad forward at gunpoint, apparently insistent that they search the forest.

>Lay an ambush for them on the far side of the island, they have no more backup.
>Keep heading east, they probably can't follow you.

Have the Twins drop the leader when we ambush the pirate squad. Then they can pick off the pirates that are left.

We should take care of the pirates from the boats somehow, too.

Aseprite, an open source pixel art program. Plus a lot of copy pasting and fucking around with layers.
http://www.aseprite.org/
A windows or mac install costs 10 bux, but if you use ubuntu you can find a broken outdated version in the package manager, and if you know how to compile shit, the source code is freely available on github.

Another gunshot. You order the twins to keep it down after this at least until it's time to go loud, any more and they might be discovered. It's already pushing it. Fortunately they tell you that the group on the west side of the island is more than happy to flee south, demoralized.

Now you are over-looking the main beach, you can see people moving in the tanker, and village. The people in the village seem alert.
The tanker has machine gun mounts on top of it, but none of them seem to be manned right now. You can also see the yacht floating next to the tanker, connected by a floating peer sticking out of a large gash in the tanker's side.

Getting to the village or the yacht will involve crossing the open beach or swimming.

>Lets creep down the cliffs to the water, and try to swim the the yacht.
>Have Terri cover us with suppressing fire while we assault the village.
>Go loud. The twins will keep an eye on the tanker while we concentrate fire on the village.

So now we have extra pirates roaming around outside and the ones in the village and tanker have buttoned up.

We could have lured out some more patrols and slaughtered them first.
We should still kill every last pirate. It will make our escape easier, and we could use the extra time to properly loot this place.
>>
You make your way down the cliffs and into the water. It's not quite dark yet, but the pirates seem mostly concerned with attack from the forest, so they seem to be ignoring the beaches for now. Making it to the Yacht undetected will be tough, but possible. The problem is you'll be mostly defenseless if detected.

>Leave Terri behind on the cliffs as Overwatch.
>Maybe the twins can cause a diversion.
>Lets just be very careful, we don't want to put them more on edge or split our group anymore.

Fighting all of them at once is inadvisable. Your advantages here are superior leadership and jungle fighting skills, but they outnumber and outgun you.

It's also unlikely that you'll be able to lure more people into the forest. A cornered beast is dangerous.

>>39722096
If the twins do any more shooting, they might get spotted. That said, this could prevent YOU from being spotted, they have no idea how many of you there are.

Terri takes a position overlooking the beach, as you and Talya swim over to the boat. You hear voices and see movement inside the Tanker. Another squad probably. Possibly guarding the hostages.

>Enter the Tanker slowly. Move south.
>Assault the tanker and throw flash-bangs. Move Southeast.

We should still be ready to use flashbangs.

Have the twins identified the pirates' fuel dump?
Or ammo dump?
Something that will blow up real good and kill most of the village.
>>
>>39722420
Storage is most likely in the Tanker, which you don't want to explode just yet. Not only would it destroy the village, but take out the hostages, and half the boats. Killing everything in the bay that doesn't burn AP in fact.

Also I'd have to re-draw the map and that would take a while. I should totally make destruction sprites in the future though. Thanks for reminding me that things should explode. You'd probably have a hard time setting it off though with just small arms and flashbangs.
>>
>>39722537
I dunno. Small arms to puncture the fuel drums, and the burning magnesium from the flashbang to ignite the vaporized fumes, may work.
Should work with 80's-tastic action movie physics, though.
>>
>>39722632
Actually, just shooting the (invariably red) fuel drums should make them go up.

You and Talya creep into the rusting hulk of the tanker, covering each other in two directions as you move slowly but carefully.

Up ahead you hear some voices.

"I'm telling you, we don't need to make a stupid ransom video. If you let me go I can get you anything you want, we don't have to get my father involved in this."
*Slapping noise*
"We're not playing games bitch, There's a proper way to do this kind of thing, If you don't want to co-operate, I'll have to start cut off your hand and mail it to him instead, Is that what you fucking want? Just cry for daddy and everyone gets to go home happy!"

There is a long awkward silence. "What's going on outside anyways? The gunfire stopped, did they find the intruders?"

>Flash and clear.
